I have a deep passion for the female shadowhunters in the circle (and or had some involvement) like Maryse, Celine, Amatis and Jocelyn??? Oh I could talk about them for HOURS.

We know stephen loves mundane stuff. And everyone else in the group is said or implied to be from Idris and they don't get it. Cue: Robert's whole thing in the wicked ones.
What i want to see is them trying to get it at least a little. I want Amatis asking Celine about the things she knows Stephen likes, forcing Celine to take her to "the place where they sell bands"
"bands are not...sold? ...do you mean records?"
"i mean bands!"
I want to see Luke and hodge banding together to try and *research* what the fuck the words Stephen uses mean. The libraries in idris are of 0 help.
I want michael not having any idea what Stephen's talking about but going along with things until he finds himself at a concert and stephen abandons him in the crowd.
I want valentine and jocelyn pretending to know exactly what he says and secretly wondering whether he's insulting them. I want Robert calling him weird to his face and turning around to punch a classmate who dared say the exact same thing, Maryse pretending she doesn't care about the weird mundie stuff but secretly really liking the music.
I want Stephen swearing he can drive a car and them finding out he really can't by him crashing through a trash can. I want luke claiming he could do it better and almost running someone over.
I need them to at least try to get it.
I need them setting off New Years fireworks in Idris and almost starting a forest fire

I don't think I can explain how much I long for Cassie to write a saga, or at least a few books about the Circle.
Give me the JUICE. I NEED TO KNOW. Specially about Maryse my girl and Robert, like I just KNOW that they were probs a power couple before becoming such a toxic relationship (maybe before Robert and Michael turned back to back)
I need to know if Maryse and Michael were on good terms (friends even?). I NEED TO KNOW MORE ABOUT MARYSE, PEOPLE.
We get this complex woman with such a strong character development, and you're not going to tell me anything about her backstory????
Was she like, Izzy on the looks, Alec on the personality? Because otherwise I'm just stuck w my head canons that her parents were trash, she was a crazy badass warrior w a very twink bf (ehem Robert) that made some horrendous choices by being charmed off by Valentine. Also in my mind her and Celine were good friends (sorry not sorry) 😌 (Stephen didn't deserve nor Amatis nor Celine. can't hate him, tho...). And that maybe her and Jocelyn had a maybe Alec x Clary like relationship (city of bones typa shit)

An edit of the circle to the song “Somewhere Only we Know” would be the death of me I fear, transitioning from the present and accords to when they were kids

What kind of parents would the circle members’ couples would be (if they had raised their kids together)? Like Jocelyn&Valentine, Celine&Stephen, Michael&Eliza, or even Stephen&Amatis if they had the chance to have a child…

Jocelyn, Maryse, Amatis, Celine, and Eliza's Wedding Dresses
I was doing some very important research for my fic (scrolling through pinterest) which resulted in me picking out wedding dresses for the girls, so here's that -
(please use your imagination and pretend they're all in gold)
Jocelyn -
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have no explanation for this one it's just perfect, in my humble opinion
Maryse -
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She seems like someone who prefers simpler dresses that are kind of flowy but still tight-fitting enough to show off her silhouette. Also these kinds of sleeves are just so HER.
Amatis -
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Very elegant and kind of old-fashioned. Lots of beautiful little details. Sort of like a slip dress, I guess?
Eliza -
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She'd like ruffly skirts, and mermaid silhouettes with a lot of jewelry and bead details. Also, bell sleeves and a drop waist.
Celine -
Tumblr media
This one exactly. She'd want to look like a princess. And it just feels like if Celine were a dress, this is the one she'd be.

I hope Stephen & Amatis had an affair while he was married to Celine actually.
Considering she consented to Valentine breaking them up for her just so she could have Stephen, I condone them cheating entirely.
I hope Stephen made it clear to Celine he didn't and would never love her, she deserves it after the way she ruined his happy 1st marriage and thought so little of Amatis for not being "pretty enough" for him.

please rank your favorite circle members. i would love to see that
OHHHH this one is kinda hard, especially since I’d probably put some of them in the same ranking: HOWEVER here is my ranking
Hm: Michael Wayland
He’s up here because I don’t care about him one bit, I’m sorry. I forgot he existed, lol. To me, his character just kinda exists for Robert to have some kind of internal conflict.
1. Maryse Lightwood
Is this kinda unexpected?? Idk. I remember rereading TMI and just thinking about how cool and great she is. I think her and Luke have the most interesting turn around when it comes to the circle! I cannot wait to be getting my dearest Maryse crumbs when we get Claces BIB story.
2. Luke/Amatis Graymark
The Graymark siblings are sharing a spot here because I actually really love them both. Now obviously Amatis doesn’t really get all that much page time, but I’ve always really loved her- she stood out to me when I first read city of glass. And LUKE, him in the first three books was always such a delight!! Him and Clary’s fatherism deserved to be shown more. I wish he still had a more prominent role in the last three books loke he did the first three!!
3. Celine Montclaire
SHE is probably one of the most interesting circle members, I could talk about her forever and forever and forever and forever. The way the constant loneliness and helplessness she felt throughout her child impacted her relationships and also her actions is really interesting. All she wanted was to fr just be happy. Her story in GOTSM is a blessing.
4. Jocelyn Fairchild
Jocelyn should probably be higher but I never connected with her as much as I maybe wanted to. HOWEVER; I would go down defending her, she’s so mischaracterised 99% of the time. She’s actually a pretty cool character, she’s always had a lot of scenes that stood out to me- and I could talk about her relationship with Sebastian forever!
5. Robert Lightwood
I have never really been connected to Robert as a character, and the first couple of times I reread tmi I just didn’t really care for him. I HAVE however changed my opinion a bit, I find him an interesting character. And I think the way his character is TFTSA and beyond is pretty cool- I have however thought killing him was a bit stupid.
6. Stephen Herondale
I actually don’t really share the common opinion on Stephen that he’s the worst person ever. I feel like people always only look at him as acting on his own thoughts and feelings when he too was manipulated by Valentine- but that’s a rant for another day. Stephen’s OKAY, he’s just one those character where I don’t think we really get anything from him. For the most part he’s always just a side character.
7. Valentine Morgenstern
It’s actually crazy how he lowkey changed the shadowhunter world. Valentine, while he’s definitely not a better villain than Sebastian- he’s definitely a good villain. The scene in COA where he literally goes to Simon’s house and kidnaps him always makes me laugh!! Like oh… okay! He’s definitely an interesting character, and I find the way he was able to manipulate everyine fascinating, like wow… every shadowhunter is easy to manipulate.
8. Hodge Starkweather
Hodge is here because while I think his character concept is interesting, I don’t think his character ever did anything that genuinely stood out to me, personally. I could talk about how I think he’s a really interesting case of how classism works in the shadowhunter community and how I think his punishment affected him: but yeah he’s just a guy to me in all honestly !!
TYSM FOR THE ASK! This was so much fun!!!

I get the feeling that if Stephen and Celine Herondale hadn’t been murdered, they would have divorced eventually and Stephen probably would’ve been a deadbeat dad
