not sure i will ever forgive shadowhunters tv for what they did to isabelle lightwood and i’m so serious btw. isabelle loves alec so much that magnus’s birthday gift to him is a protection spell on her. she dates boys she knows her parents will disapprove of because she thinks it’ll distract them from figuring out alec’s sexuality + giving him shit for it. she finds out that simon has been cheating on her with maia and still her first reaction to finding out that jordan was maia’s abusive ex is to threaten to beat the shit out of him for going near her. in edom clary dreams of having a normal family and simon dreams of fortune and fame and alec dreams of being an accomplished warrior and isabelle only dreams of the people she loves being happy and healthy and themselves. she’s stubborn and loyal and haughty and funny and vain and curious and tempestuous and so, so quick to put the people she loves first for all that she likes to pretend otherwise, and the show threw so much of it away because they chose to focus on her being the 'hot one' who likes to flirt with everyone and make fun of alec. i am killing and fucking biting Why would you fucking do this to her

I saw someone say that Cordelia's love for James was something she should have gone over years before she came to London.

First of all, she was fourteen, friendly reminder that Clary was only a year older when she fell in love with Jace.

Second of all, Cordelia had no one except her best friend and that one boy who she had become fond of. She was moving constantly, never staying in a place enough to make friends, no one except Lucie and that boy. And ,honestly, if I were her I would hold onto the idea of that boy, who understood her, who cared for her, who was one of her only two friends, one of the only constant things in a life where everything was always changing, like a sailor who's ship had sunk would hold onto a log in an endless sea.

So no, she couldn't have gotten over him.

There's something about how in Clockwork Angel's prologue Jem says "Do as you like, William. You always do." But just moments earlier Will stops himself from messing with a mundane policeman because Jem scolded him every time he had done it and "while Will never really could understand Jem's objections to the whole enterprise, it wasn't worth making him upset."

Six pages into the story and Cassandra already summarized their entire relationship.

Clary was sheltered up until the events of TCOB meanwhile Jace was getting raised by Valentine

Kit was forced to grow up quickly while Ty was babied by Julian and his family

Sophie was cast out onto the streets while Gideon had a fairly nice upbringing (besides his dad turning into a worm but let's face it he deserved it)

Lucie was raised as the daughter of one of the wealthiest Shadowhunter families while Jesse literally died as a kid

And do I even need to explain Thomas and Alastair...

yall remember that scene in LoS where Livvy got hurt at the Shadow Market and Ty is in her room and when he comes out in the morning Kit is SLEEPING OUTSIDE LIVVYS ROOM ON THE FLOOR like that’s what Ty did w Kit and now he’s doing it but with Livvy

Ty said “you’re in the floor” then Kit called after him in that scene but Ty just ignored him and kept on walking

no wonder Ty thought Kit liked Livvy, AND THEN right after that scene it’s the roof scene where Ty asks Kit to hold him because he’s shaking and he’s cold

He's like "you better be using that combing cream I gave you" "you need to define your curls" "Keep your hair moisturized" "I will tell Cordelia to remind you to do your hair routine" "don't brush your curls, you will damage your hair" "I don't smell the coconut curl mousse I recommended you" *Will nodding and agreeing with Matthew from behind*

you don't realise just how big of an impact will made on magnus until you read the bane chronicles. he talks about him in like. Every Chapter it's crazy that after all these years he still remembers him and so fond of him, and I'm so glad for it. will deserves to still be loved as much as he is even after he died 🥹🩷

Ash and Janus’s relationship is so interesting. I wonder how that will shape his relationship with Jace? I love the idea of Clace being there for him but I think realistically, Luke and Jocelyn might take that role of caretakers. I think Jocelyn still feels a lot of guilt when it comes to Sebastian and might want to make up for it by being there was Ash. Ugh I would love to see their reactions to him!!!

I really can only picture Magnus like Godfrey Gao it's insane how perfectly the casting is

Though I admit I saw the movie before reading the books so that's probably why.

But then again, if that were the case I would say the same about all the casting and I definitely think they did a horrible choice with alec.

Does anyone else picture Magnus Bane looking like Eugene Lee-Yang? I know they're not the same ethnicity, but when I was first reading the books, his face was the one that imprinted onto my mind as the most *Magnus*.
