I did this one bc I needed an easy and comfy cosplay for tabling at cons that I didn't need a wig for (I wore Thistle's wig the last time for like 12 hours and it wasn't fun)

The way that B2/W2's protagonist doesn't live up to B/W's... Ugh, I love it. Because it feels so intentional. Like they're stepping into shoes that are both too big for them and that they also never wanted to fill. Everywhere they go, people look at them and they see someone else who's no longer there. Even the original protag's mom sees them and for a split second, thinks they're her kid. N tries to recreate several moments he's already had with another person with them. Everything they do has been done before. They're not chosen by a legendary dragon. They're just given one by someone who was. They're always walking in the shadow of a person they never met and everyone they meet will always see a different person before they see them.

“Is it possible for you to not be the center of attention for one moment?” Regulus grumbled.

James smirked, a smug grin spreading across his face. “What else could you possibly be doing that’s more important than admiring me?”

Regulus closed his eyes. “Anything would be more important, James.”

As arrogant as ever, James leaned back and bit into his apple, his shirt riding up just enough to reveal a happy trail. Regulus absolutely did not get distracted by it. No, under no circumstances.

“You’re such a fucking slut, Potter.”

James moaned dramatically, followed by a laugh. “Oh, say that again.”

“Prick,” Regulus muttered, glaring at him.

James set the apple aside and ran a hand through his hair, eyes closed and panting, “Keep going, baby. I love it when you get mean.”

“Whore,” Regulus bit out. But his blown pupils betrayed him completely.

James turned to look at him fully. “I suck dick like one too.”

Their interaction was interrupted by a mocking laugh. Shit. He’d forgotten that Barty was in the room.

“Don’t stop on my account,” Barty said, shifting in his seat to face them, his smirk just as insufferable as James’. “Please, go on—what exactly makes James Potter such a distracting slut, Regulus?”

James’ eyes widened, and he leaned forward, clearly more than a little interested in Regulus’ response.

“You won’t do it,” James challenged. “Always too careful not to stroke my dic— I mean ego, right?”

Regulus narrowed his eyes. “It’s that slutty fucking jewelry piece you wear around your neck.”

James laughed, undoing a few buttons to reveal the dainty gold necklace with a heart-shaped pendant. 

“Yeah, that fucking thing,” Regulus replied, biting back the thought of how often he’d pictured that pendant swinging above his face while James fucked him senseless.

“It is pretty slutty,” Barty chimed in, clearly enjoying himself.

“It was my mom’s,” James countered.

“Well, then your mom is a—”

“Lovely person, I’m sure,” Regulus interrupted, shooting Barty a warning glare. “Unlike you.”

Barty shrugged, unbothered. “I stand by what I said.”

James leaned closer, his cocky grin returning full force. “Didn’t know you kept such a close watch on me, Regulus.”

“Get over yourself.”

There was something about fighting with James that always lit a fire in Regulus. He was insufferable, smug, and annoyingly clever—but god, he was also hot.

“You’re the one who called me distracting,” James teased.

“Maybe if I find something to keep your mouth full, you’ll stop talking,” Regulus shot back.

This time, James actually blushed.

“Yeah,” he said, his voice quieter. “Maybe.”

Yo do you subscribe to the theory that Hyrule Warriors merged the three timelines back together? Cause I've been brainrotting over your necromancer au again and imagining Legend asking for help from Wars by writing a letter and hiding it somewhere where he hopes that it will be preserved until Wars' era.

Maybe Wars feels a little lonely after LU too, so he goes on a journey to discover artifacts left by the heroes before him and stumbles across this letter which simply says "Captain, I hope you find this and can find a way to help us. Rulie is not handling our separation well. Please come help him if you are able. -The Vet"

Wars immediately runs to Lana and after some convincing she agrees to send him through time to the point when the letter was written. He arrives to find Legend sitting with paper and quill still in hand, the faintest smile visible in his tired eyes, and he knows right away that something is very, very wrong.

Does he manage to talk some sense into Hyrule? Does he offer some other healthier coping tool? Who knows but oh man the idea is driving me crazy in the best way lol

A tiny problem– the timeline is locked in the AU. Time travel can't happen to the parts of the timeline post LU (to stop a problem like monsters crossing timelines again) thats why any time travel item Rulie found can't work anymore. It'll be the same for the rest of the links.

I do think its funny to imagine Warriors finding Legend's letter and realising he can't do anything. No matter how much he asks Lana or prays to Hylia the timeline won't open for him. The helpless guilt? It'll be soo delicious

Hypothetically, Hyrule will be so happy to see Wars again but would grow a tiny bit (an understatement) jealous that the captain was able to visit him. How unfair!

I dont think it would go well. How can Warriors say that Rulie shouldnt raise their dead brothers when its his only way to see them again? When Wars can time travel to visit the others if he wants to?

When wars has loved ones around him he wont endanger when he goes home and Hyrule has to stay away from the princesses so the monsters out for his blood wont come for them? The captain wont be the one alone for who knows how long when he goes back!

For what it's worth, I think Campaign 3 suffers when compared to, to put it bluntly, pretty much anything else Critical Role has ever put out, as well as most actual play that I've watched/listened to. But I think it uniquely suffers when juxtaposed with a narrative that says "if you do not make rapid decisions you and others around you will die; if you spend too much time whining about how it's unfair that you are called to make these decisions, including ones that might challenge you, you and others around you will die; and if you do not above all prioritize community and deal with threats to that community - and expand your understanding of community to be a very broad one - you will be destroyed." It was jarring and hypocritical to watch Campaign 3's defenders who had been calling for the gods to be slaughtered for much of the campaign suddenly spin around and praise Bells Hells for finding [having handed to them] the nonviolent option because that's actually always the best one, don't you know; and I think EXU Divergence challenges not just that ideal but the concept that there's a universal solution. Sometimes the right thing is to hide; sometimes it's necessary to commit violence to prevent further violence. Sometimes the right thing is to secretly eat some of the cheese yourself to prevent you from dying; sometimes it's to be on the lookout for someone trying to take more of their share in a resource-limited community and to stop them. Sometimes the right thing is to carry others; sometimes it's to give them to someone stronger and more able. And above all, many of these choices will be extremely unfair and difficult and put you at risk, and you do still have to make them, and soon.
