just saw madame web and itā€™s nowhere near as bad as people are saying
the hatred of women is showing when they give no actual based and valid reasons to call it ā€˜the worst film theyā€™ve ever seenā€™
itā€™s not the best but it was fun, girls were being girlā€™s girls, some parts were funny and some were cringe
people just love taking the fun out of film these days (the same boring ppl that will claim whiplash is the greatest film of all time)
SO BASICALLY, GO SEE IT, ITS NOT TOO BAD

earlier today i told an acquaintance in passing that i'll often be in the middle of a novel and think "man i wish this shit were more ambiguous" and had to reiterate twice that i wasn't being sarcastic before they believed me, so this post is to say: i love when writers don't bother to explain everything, i love when stories end uncertain and unsettling, i love being required to think as a reader, i love when stuff makes no damn sense, no i'm not kidding

Jason Grace was needed by the fandom because among all the troublemakers, sarcastic frats, dyslexic students and hyperactive kids who related with Percy, Leo and other demigods, there were some of us who loved discipline, studying and who constantly worked under the growing weight of people's expectations just because they were good at something.
There were some of us who excelled at academics, some who liked being organized instead of messy, and some who liked discipline over casual behaviour. And just when we thought that maybe we couldn't relate to any demigod ā€“ Jason emerged as our ray of sunshine.
Jason taught us it's as okay and cool to be disciplined and perfect as it is to be messy and lacky. Let's give our boy all the love he deserves because he made a huge difference in so many people's lives.
JASON GRACE YOU'RE LOVED

house mdā€™s worst and best hate crime is wilsonā€™s ā€œi should have spent my life being more like you. i shouldā€™ve been a manipulative, self centred, narcissistic ass who brought misery to everything and everyone in his lifeā€ followed by houseā€™s ā€œyouā€™d still have cancerā€ and then wilsonā€™s ā€œyeah, but at least iā€™d feel like i deserved it!ā€ house risks his entire life to let wilson do too much chemo. wilson didnā€™t even ask him to do it. house gives up the last of his vicodin to stop wilsonā€™s pain. he lies to wilson about it. house tells wilson that all they need in life is each other. house promises to let wilson die in his apartment instead of being taken to a hospital. he risks everything because wilson asks him to. then wilson tells house that he deserves cancer. there is no fucking reason for this. itā€™s the best thing they ever did.

Your AU's idea of SolverCyn keeping Tessa's consciousness alive inside it actually seems really in-character for the canon SolverCyn. I remember someone pointing out that between Cyn and Tessa's matching hairstyles, the way that SolverCyn has been wearing Tessa's human corpse as a skinsuit and impersonating her identity in the spacesuit ever since the Well-Timed Giggle, and the way Cyn and Tessa both share a special fondness for N among the drones, it really seems like either the Solver - or the part of the Solver that's still Cyn - has a real underlying fixation on emulating Tessa.
Yeah, I see Cyns disturbing fixation of Tessa being a once innocent admiration that got twisted by the corruption. When you like someone enough you tend to parrot them and pick up their tendencies. this is really apparent in impressionable kids, and Cyn is our resident possessed robo child. Imitation is the highest form of flattery.
I think itā€™s a funny twist of irony that the entities that hate humans so much, are so deeply obsessed with one. In the end they just want to own every piece of Tessa.

imo, Jinx and Vi's bio parents didn't need more screen time (the importance of their characters was their deaths at the hands of enforcers), but if they were so intent on exploring Felicia as a character in s2, it should've been through Vi and added onto her character/arc in some way. Not her memory brought up in that half-assed sisterly heart-to-heart in s2ep6, not her retconned connection to Silco and Vander. And, in my ideal world, it serves as a point of conflict between Vi and Jinx.
Imagine a similar scene as in s2ep6. Vi, grief-stricken and perpetually stuck in the past, demanding, "Do you even remember them?" and Jinx doesn't say anything, so Vi breaks. A torrent of memories shoots out of her. A flood of every detail she locked away, growing more and more frantic the longer Jinx doesn't react, possibly culminating with that comment about their mom's smell, if the writers felt that inclined to it.
Imagine they go the route of Sokka and Katara.
Vi is visibly devastated. The 'sit down on the ground, shut down' kind of devastated. Part of Jinx is still that same child wrapping her arms around Vi's waist on the bridge, part of her is always that little girl wanting to fix things, so she sits down next to her, but not too close. Not touching. And she admits that she remembers their mom, a little. But whenever she tries to picture her, Vi's is the only face she can see.
s2 suffers from the writers overestimating the importance of Powder's other caregivers. Her parents, Vanderā€”they're all secondary. Vi has always been her number one.

THE JETSET LIFE IS GONNA KILL YOU, ERIC CARTER!
my laptop charger uhhhhhh. met its end in a very permanent, very fire hazardy kind of way last week. while waiting for a replacement I decided to try and get some work done at the library and was asking around for some urban fantasy (extra points for a mystery plot of some kind) recommendations to check out while I was there
the eric carter series was mentioned a couple of times, AND had the added bonus of having a necromancer for a main character. I love necromancers. someday I'm gonna play one in a game instead of immediately defaulting to vampires.

I feel a rather petty, rancid frustration towards this fandom for how they rejected Mary Winchester when her world has not stopped burning since she died.
Spn gave two hands and a gun to a woman who had been dead since it's conception, only present in the past, and we fucking spat all over her because she had an understandably poor reaction to finding out that the world had aged 33 years and she had not.

Can we talk about how Will just somehow survived Tartarus despite the odds against him? And how he still loves Nico despite it?
(Also talking about how Will is genuinely such a great boyfriend, Nico is so lucky fr fr.)
Like we just witnessed him actively DYING in Tartarus. Why are we pretending it's not that serious?
Sure, the book itself doesn't feel as dramatic as Percabeth's journey in Tartarus. But it's still actively dangerous.
EXTREMELY dangerous for Will especially. Nico, he's been there. He's been in Tartarus. He's also affected by it too. Clearly both of them are affected because Nico almost DIED in his last one.
And then we have Will actually dying, getting weaker as he travels deeper into the underworld with nothing but a sun lamp to keep him alive.
So why are we only focusing on Nico and Percabeth's journey when Will canonically had the hardest time there? šŸ˜
Sure the entire book is about Nico and Will's character development and their relationship growing stronger by the end.
But can we not invalidate Will's journey THROUGH IT? I've seen many people forget Will is a survivor, sure with Nico's help. But without him he's guaranteed to die.
Still doesn't mean that he's not a strong character, he survived TARTARUS you gotta be HELLA strong as it is? He's also saved Nico's life multiple times in the book.
He may be a healer but it also doesn't mean he's not capable. Only to an extent.
It's sad how some people ignore the book just because it feels like a fanfic when it's not?? It's their journey as a couple, it's FOCUSED ON THEIR RELATIONSHIP.
That's different to Percabeth the book was focused on GETTING THEM OUT mostly.
That's Percabeth was down there unwillingly.
Solangelo traversed to Tartarus WILLINGLY.
That's the difference between two books. If they were down there against their will they might be more at stake because they're fighting for their lives. Trying to get out.
But they're down there to save their friend, so yes it's going to be differentā€” because the main plots is different. šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜
So with all of the odds clearly AGAINST Will it's remarkable that he somehow survived it all.
Like he had a BAD fall, Tartarus was literally killing him to the point his body is unraveling itself, making bigger wounds. He had a taste of pain of the River Styx. (Even if it's a dream.)
He was CLEVER to use their circumstances and information to send a mania away from them to avoid extra danger. Even if it made Nico unsettled. It was necessary.
He went against a fricking nightmare demon. He went against NYX. And then we have him talking to Persephone for some part of it.
The bravest thing he's done? Was him completely accepting and understanding despite seeing the true nature of Nico's home.
Of where Nico originates. Will stayed with him, despite seeing EVERYTHING BAD about it. All the horrors, and terrors.
And yet there's good in it.
He's still came to the conclusion that this is what Nico is. With all the bad, there is still just a bit of good that makes the entire thing worth it.
I rest myšŸ‘ FUCKING šŸ‘CASE.

Astrology community is filled with people who have this superiority complex, like "people focus too much on money and future spouse, look how mature I AM, I focus on other, more important thingsšŸ˜”", I agree that being obsessed with them is wrong, but it's okay if some observations give a sense of comfort and security to people as long as they realise that their own efforts matter just as much. Also, the unemployment rate is increasing, the rent for a 1 bhk is + 1,000ā‚¬, groceries have become expensive AS FUCK, what else do you want people to talk about if not money, stupid dipshits. If reading about "indicators of being rich in astrology" makes people happy, then LET THEM BE HAPPY, WHO CARES šŸ˜šŸ˜
