James Potter x Fem!Slytherin!Reader
Next Part Series Masterlist
Summary: In which James Potter is beyond shocked to see you introduced as the newest Order member. After all, to him, you’re nothing but a cruel, cold, pureblooded Slytherin
Word Count: 1.2K
Warnings: House stereotyping/prejudice (I think that's it, if not, let me know please!)
A/N: The inspiration for this came while I was reading @ellecdc's Sirius Black x Reader series called Come Back, Be Here and it was such an amazing read! Go read it if you haven't already! <33
───※ ·❆· ※───
The Order of the Phoenix, a secret society founded by the Headmaster of Hogwarts, Albus Dumbledore, was gathered once again in another secret location. All the members were seated in their respective seats, looking at the Headmaster to begin speaking.
“Thank you all for coming on such short notice.” Dumbledore said, his voice bouncing off the walls, “I received a tip that revealed a death eater meeting is to take place tonight, not too far from Diagon Alley.” He said. “I will have to arrange a few members to be sent to scout out the meeting, but before that, I have an important announcement.”
Everyone in the room exchanged glances, a nervousness settling for what could be bad news to be revealed.
“I have recruited a new member, who has already proven what a great asset she will be to our team.”
“Who?” Sirius asked.
Albus Dumbledore gestured towards the door, “Come in.”
You strutted in, dressed in dark clothes with your wand twirling between your fingers as a smile sat upon your lips.
“You!”
And two sets of chairs screeched as two individual wands were directed at you.
“What are you doing here?!” James shouted, Sirius nodding as he backed his best mate.
“Charming. Quite a nice welcome you’ve all prepared for me, Headmaster?”
Dumbledore’s blue eyes twinkled as he directed his gaze from you to the pair of Black and Potter.
“Wands down, boys. Y/n L/n will henceforth be joining us from today.” He said, declaring it to the whole room.
“But, Professor!” James exclaimed, “Y/n’s a Slytherin!”
“Gee, thanks for noticing.”
James glared at you before he turned his eyes onto Dumbledore, his expression having turned into one of desperation. “You can’t possibly let her join!” He practically begged. “They’re all the same, the treacherous snakes can’t be trusted!”
Dumbledore opened his mouth to reply but you beat him to it.
“Well not everyone can be so dimwitted that they would end up in Gryffindor.” You said, making both James and Sirius scowl.
"We are very intelligent, thank you very much!" Sirius interjected, making you shoot a look in return that said are you really though?
“Plus," You continued "Not everyone is the same because even a lion could be a snake in disguise.”
James’ eyebrows furrowed together, “What do you mean to imply by that?”
You merely shrugged, earning a scoff from James.
“That’s enough now.” Professor McGonagall called out sternly, making both you and James fall quiet and take your seats.
“Now that we have exchanged small pleasantries,” James and you loudly scoffed, “Onto the mission. I will be sending out Remus Lupin, James Potter, Benjy Fenwick, Dorcas Meadowes and Y/n L/n.” Dumbledore gently smiled, “This tip was given by Y/n herself and this proves how much of a help Y/n’s addition to the Order will be.
A cry of protest sounded from the young Potter, “Headmaster! How can you believe her? For all we know, she could be sending us into a death trap!” James exclaimed, glaring at you, who stood up with a scoff.
“And that is the exact reason I am coming along! If something happens, I will be there too!”
“Nope! Not happening! Headmaster, I refuse to go if she goes!” James said.
“Mr. Potter,” McGonagall said, “Stop behaving so childish. Miss. L/n will be going and that is final.”
James grumbled and muttered, “Fine.” Knowing by now that Professor McGonagall could get real scary when she needed to be.
“Good, now get going.”
James glared your way to which you only smirked at him, irking the young Potter even more.
*.·:·.✧ ✦ ✧.·:·.*
The mission was partially successful as like the tip you had given, there was a death eater meeting. However, they sensed the presence of Order members too early and before you all could even cast a spell their way, they had gone.
Most of the Order had been kind and accepted you in, after all, if Dumbledore trusted you, what reason did they have not to? Well, everyone except for Sirius Black and James Potter.
Especially James Potter.
He loathed you. Simple as that. Your mere existence irked him, like it has been since your shared days at Hogwarts. You always had a way that managed to annoy him, and he had been always determined to get under your skin every time he caught sight of you within the castle.
James wasn’t sure when it started but the interactions between the two of you had become frequent since fifth year. He despised you for being a Slytherin, after all you were just like the rest, acting as if you were superior. But it was also the way you winked at him or that teasing smile that crawled onto your lips. Or how you would speak in a playful tone, flicking your hair over your shoulder every time you walked away or how you twirled your wand teasingly between your nimble fingers.
It infuriated him.
Everything about you annoyed James Potter to no end.
Henceforth, why he was so against your arrival into the Order and how he was determined to get at you every chance he could get.
"Wow, L/n, I'm surprised you haven't melted yet." James said later one evening at an Order meeting.
You cocked an eyebrow at him, "Meaning?"
"Meaning my burning hatred towards you, I was expecting you to have skedaddled out of here."
You gave him a weird look, "Well, that genuinely made no sense, Potter. Now excuse me." You said, returning to your conversation with Remus.
James grumbled, turning towards his best mate, "Moony! Stop hanging out with her!"
Remus let out an exasperated sigh, "Listen, Prongs, I love having you as a friend, truly I do, but if you're going to keep this up, I won't hesitate to hex your arse off the planet."
James stared at his best friend, dumbfounded, while you doubled over laughing.
"Moony," James muttered out hollowly, "How could you? You're my best friend!" He accused Remus in an over dramatic manner.
"And Y/n is also a friend of mine."
This threw James off completely, "She's WHAT!?"
"A friend. She was nothing but polite to me throughout school and I have no reason to be rude to her."
You shot Remus a smile of gratitude before moving your gaze to James, eyes turning cold as you stood up.
"I love to annoy you, truly, but I find it unfair how you're always taking out what most of my house has done against me. Not everyone is the same. I'm not like them." You breathed out, your voice wavering near the end.
James suddenly felt a weird sensation wash over him and he watched you turn around and go.
"Mate," James looked at his friend, his attention snapping from you to Remus, "You don't need to be so mean to her. She has gone through a lot."
James scoffed loudly, "I doubt that."
Remus gave his friend an expression of what looked like pity and exasperation. He patted James on the shoulder before walking away. James stood there, lost within his own thoughts. He shook his head vigorously after a few seconds.
No, to him you were merely one of them. You were from a family of death eaters. You were from the house that turned out all the dark wizards. You were just one of them and nothing more. And he hated them all.
"I hate you." He whispered.
Although, James' perception about you would be challenged as the next Order mission would bring an unexpected twist.
════ ⋆★⋆ ════
A/N: Ok, so I had this idea of this one scene and I was planning on just a oneshot but instead I decided to go ahead and make a mini series, just so I can write more about James and Reader in this enemies to lovers sort of trope. I've never really written for James before, so I hope you all liked it and stay tuned for the next one because it's going to be good! Love you all and take care! <33
Love, Serina ❤

Small trigger warning for Reg getting ripped apart.
The Potter's wedding is beautiful. Small, but beautiful and warm. With very few people in attendance, not that it mattered much. James and Lily were married and that was all that mattered to Sirius.
Regulus Black came to a terrifying revelation.
He offered his congratulations to the couple but as he hugged James. He was overcome with a feeling of dread. Like something was wrong. Sirius forced it down. He couldn't be feeling like this at his best friend's wedding.
The place is cold, not that Regulus could actually tell, he just assumed that everything was cold now. The note is in his hand.
Lily and James dance along to ABBA's Dancing Queen and Sirius thinks they are made for each other. It's one of the few small moments of happiness in the war. He wants to preserve it in his memory. Keep it close to his heart forever.
His smile falters when he doesn't see the mess of dark brown curls and red hair. He sees black curls and finds himself unwillingly wondering if Regulus will ever get married.
He hopes Evan and Barty will forgive him.
It's a silly thought. Regulus would probably just marry whoever keeps the line pure. Just the way their parents always wanted. He takes a swig of his glass. Regulus deserved to marry someone he liked.
He needs to stop thinking about him. But the feeling of dread isn't going away. It's bothering him. His stomach hurts. He needs to sit down because there is something wrong and he doesn't know what it is and it's ruining the wedding reception.
The drink burns his throat. He forces himself to continue drinking.
The champagne isn't helping but Sirius forces himself to take another sip.
The nails scratched against his skin. Pulling and pulling. He just wants water. He just wants to get away. He just wants Sirius. Everything hurts.
Sirius wants to cry so he excuses himself for a moment. James and Remus look concerned and Lily tries to ask if everything is alright before he rushes out.
He can't hear anything beyond screaming. It's probably his. The inferni are ruthless. Grabbing what they can. His arms, his shirt, his hair, his neck, his legs. Whatever they can get. Regulus can feel their nails dig into his skin, piercing it. Water overtakes his lungs at the same time he feels the shared pain of his back being torn and his arm being bitten and torn off. He can't scream. He can't move. Buried under the mounds of undead tearing him apart until he saw black.
When Sirius looks up, he can't see Regulus in the sky anymore and he doesn't read the prophet the next morning because he knows his brother is dead just shy before 18 years old.
He can only cry.

“It’s not you, is it?” The words stopped Remus in his tracks. He turned to face Sirius, who had appeared in the doorway of his room. “It’s Pete.” He whispered.
Remus blinked at him, “It’s Pete?”
“I gave everyone different information about where James and Lily would be last night. I told you they’d be at Hogwarts, I told Marlene they’d be staying in Hogsmeade, I told Pete they’d be at home.” He paused, “He went there last night. Voldemort. Blew the place up.”
“No.” Remus shook his head. “Are they—”
“They’re fine. They were at The Burrow with Molly and Arthur.” Sirius looked at his friend. “Why did you let us think it was you?” Remus shook his head. “Why did you let me think it was you?”
“I thought it might be you if that’s any consolation.” Remus sounded pained. “I didn’t want to believe it, though. And, I suppose, with what Dumbledore’s had me doing, I thought you all might as well think me the traitor. It would be less painful for you all when I inevitably didn't come back.”
“Please tell me.” Sirius’ fingers gripped the edge of the doorframe. “Fuck what Dumbledore says. Tell me, Remus.”
Remus sighed, “I’ve been trying to convert werewolves to our side. Greyback and his pack, mostly.” He shrugged, “Fairly unsuccessfully.”
“You’ve been with Greyback?” Sirius’ knuckles were white. “Why would he ask you to do that? That’s fucking awful.”
“He couldn’t exactly send anyone else, could he?”
“But still!” Sirius looked devastated and Remus wanted to wrap his arms around him and never let go, but he took a step back and leant against the wall opposite Sirius’ door.
“Do James and Lily know? Dumbledore?”
“Yeah, Aurors picked up Pete and a few others this morning.” A tear escaped from the corner of Sirius’ eye. “I’m so sorry, Moons. I’m so sorry.”
“I would never,” Remus said quietly. “I owe the world to you, James, and Lily. I would never put any of you, or Harry, at risk on purpose.”
“I know.” Sirius bit the edge of his lip to stop it from trembling. “I don’t know how we got here. This fucking war is destroying everything and I’m destroying everything.”
“Sirius,” Remus looked so tired, “I’ve forgiven you for worse.” He tried to smile, “We’ll get through this.”
“Will we?” Sirius took a shaky breath. “All this time Pete has been feeding us lies about you, and we just believed them. ‘Isn’t it strange that Moony never tells us about his missions?’, ‘Remus missed another meeting? Weird.’ And…” He shook his head, “He said that he saw you kissing Barty Crouch from school.”
“I see.” Remus said slowly, “Well, for what it’s worth, I have never kissed Crouch.”
“Good, he’s a fucking state.” Sirius half laughed, half sobbed. “He made it sound so believable, Moons.”
“I’m sure he did.” Remus said, “I wish you’d all had more faith in me, but I understand what it must have looked like.”
“Can you not be so fucking understanding just this once?” Sirius shouted, “We thought you were a traitor, that you’d give up James and Lily. How can you be so calm about this?”
Remus pressed his lips together, “I’m so tired, Pads. I don’t have it in me to fight anymore. Pete was making comments to me about you, too. I started to believe them. So, I get it. He was our friend, why wouldn’t we believe him?”
“But you’re our friend. Why wouldn’t we trust you?” Sirius rubbed his eyes, “I don’t know how to make this right.”
“Pads,” Remus said softly, taking a step towards him. “Please, listen to me. I’m upset about it, but that doesn’t change the fact that I love you. Uh, all of you. All of you.” Sirius’ eyes flicked up to meet Remus’, who instantly looked away.
“Love you too, Moons. Oh!” Sirius pulled a chocolate frog out of his pocket, “It might be a bit melted now, but…”
“Thank you.” Remus took the frog and held it against his chest.
“For the endolphins.”
“Endorphins.” Remus corrected.
“Yeah, same thing.”
“It’s not the—” Remus smiled cautiously. “I would be so lost without you. It’s important to me that you know that, alright?”
“Can I sleep in your bed tonight?” He asked quietly. They’d shared a bed fairly often at school, staying up late and talking. Even since living together, there were nights when Sirius would crawl into Remus’ bed after a bad dream. “It’s fine if you want to be alone, obviously.”
“Of course you can.” Remus looked towards his room, “I really don’t want to be alone.”
“I missed you so much, Moony.” Remus could tell that he didn’t just mean from the week he’d been away with Greyback’s pack.
“I missed you too.”

Mad eye moody probably liked to capture death eaters alive so they can be brought to justice right. Think about how powerful Evan would have had to be to force Mad eye to kill him. Evan who could only hear his parents voices in his head "never let them die quickly, never show mercy on scum." His parents mocking him telling him the only reason he existed was to carry the Rosier legacy. He would throw curse after curse at Mad eye trying to get the voices out of his head. Barty who had known Evan for years seeing his boyfriend this crazy. Under other circumstances he would find it hot af seeing Evan go to town on this dude. Shit hits the fan when Mad eye tried to hex Bart, so imagine Evan getting this man on the ground and just gouging his eye out with his want slowly and painfully until it came out. "Hey Bee I got you a souvenir." Evan would say crazy grin all over his face. As Barty would look over a green light and his boyfriends crumbling body would be the first thing he sees Mad eye holding his now empty eye socket and his wand. Barty never got to say goodbye never thought this would be the last time he saw his boyfriend alive as he was forced to retreat. (Sorry for my rant idk what the fuck im doing)

Hello can I request draco with a gryffindor reader who happens to be the daughter of both Ares and Aphrodite. How would her parents react when their daughter wanted to marry a former death eater after the battle of hogwarts?
ungodly romance | d.m.
my masterlist
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Being the daughter of two Gods came with many difficulties.
With your status came responsibilities, obligations and burdens. Things were expected of you, you needed to reflect well on your parents and your kind.
Studying at Hogwarts had been your way out, your one place where you could be yourself without people breathing down your neck, without being judged for every little thing that you would do. It was your escape.
After the Battle of Hogwarts, that place had forever disappeared from your life. You were back in your closed-off world, living to please the people around you, make them proud and give them someone to show-off and brag about.
However, there was one person whom you reconnected with that gave you your freedom back.
Draco Malfoy.
During the war, you had had to cut off contact with him because of your opposing positions in the war, your parents having forbidden you from associating with Death Eaters or anyone who might tarnish their stellar reputation, as a matter of fact.
You and Draco had just secretly started dating before the war broke out, cutting contact being the most hurtful thing you've had to do. Having just found someone to love you for who you were, and immediately having to let them go.
When you reconnected after the war, it seemed like two pieces of a puzzle reunited after a long time without each other. You finally felt like you were at home again, safe and sound in the arms of the one you loved.
There was just one problem.
Your parents.
The fear that crippled your heart at the thought of them meeting Draco was paralyzing. You knew how they felt about Death Eaters, and despite Draco leaving those days behind, that wouldn't matter to them. He would still be evil in their eyes.
Draco was the one who insisted that he meet them. He was positive that he could change their minds and make them see that he was good for you, that those days were long behind him and he wasn't evil at heart as they had concluded.
You weren't so sure, but you figured you had nothing more to lose. The worst your parents could do was lock you away for good, but it wasn't anything that you hadn't previously been through.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" you asked Draco for the twentieth time as you stopped before the grand door that sat in front of you.
You had been very evasive with details about your boyfriend when you told your parents you would be bringing him to dinner, which sparked their curiosity even more.
But not in a good way.
"Love, we have to get this done. We can't hide away forever" he caressed your cheek, sensing how nervous you truly were.
"Yes, we can. There's nothing stopping us. They don't care about my life anyway, and I know what they're going to say already. This is all really unnecessary" you tried to reason with him, trying to convince him just how bad this idea was in your eyes.
"I want to meet your parents, and regardless of what they say, I'm not giving up on us. Whatever comes our way, we'll deal with it together" looking into his gray eyes, you felt comfort.
Without realizing it, you found yourself nodding and taking his hand, finally entering the place you had been dreading to enter for the past few days.
Immediately, as soon as you stepped foot into the house, servants bombarded you left and right, not even sparing Draco a second glance as they focused on you.
"Master and Mistress are awaiting you in the grand ballroom" one of the servants informed you before disappearing with the others into another room.
You glanced once more at Draco before letting out a big breath, and beginning your journey towards the ballroom.
Once stopped in front of the entrance, you raised your hand to knock, but the doors opened on their own before you got the chance.
"Hello Mother, hello Father" you greeted your parents, both of them conversing with their backs turned to you.
"Sit" your mother's sweet yet icy voice spoke, not turning around yet.
You glanced at Draco with the corner of your eyes, but followed suit nonetheless.
Both of you took a seat next to each other, clearing your throat and keeping your hand clasped in his.
Your parents, Ares and Aphrodite, God of war and Goddess of love and beauty, now stood facing you, eyeing you down wearily. You were accustomed to their intense gaze, but it hurt Draco to look at them.
"Who have you brought here?" your mother asked, her eyes scanning your boyfriend.
By the way she was looking at him, you could already sense her suspicion.
"This is my boyfriend, Draco. Draco, these are my parents"
"It's an honor to meet you both," Draco said nervously.
Your father stared him down, cracking his knuckles.
"What is this young man doing in my house? Do you have no respect for us? Don't you know what he did in the war?" the booming voice of your father echoed off the walls, his fist hitting the long table that stood between you.
You didn't even flinch, accustomed already to his outbursts. There was a reason why he was the God of war, after all.
Clearing your throat, you held your head high and looked at your father.
"I am aware of Draco's actions during the war, but I am also aware of the fact that he did not participate willingly in any of them. He was being forced by his father, who is now residing in Azkaban for his crimes. I know you despise the lot, but Draco is not like them. He never was and he never will. I ask of you that you give him a chance and get to know him before making any judgements" your father was fuming, but you could your mother smiling from the corner of your eyes.
She had always encouraged you to fight for the ones you love, and this was the first time you had really stood up to your father like this.
"I don't want to hear this right now" he turned around and stormed out of the room, something you had known was going to happen.
"Don't worry, my dear. I will speak to your father. Draco, consider yourself welcomed to the family" your mother caressed his shoulder before graciously following after your father.
Left alone in the room, you let out a big sigh of relief, not quite believing what had just happened.
"I told you so" Draco teased, bumping your shoulders.
Maybe it wouldn't be so bad after all.

Prompt 6 - Limb
@jegulus-microfic July 6, Word count 300
He dropped his gaze to his right arm as his wand clattered to the floor. The limb hung there uselessly. Limp against his side. He quickly stooped to snatch up his fallen wand in his left hand and threw up a shield to protect himself from the same jinx hitting him again.
“Is that the best you can do James?” He yelled across the abandoned building site. “It’s not even harmful! What are you going to do numb me into submission?” He cackled wickedly as the wall behind him exploded into rubble. “Missed again, lover!” He called out as he danced away from the debris. For all his talk he hadn’t sent anything stronger than a stinging hex at him. James had left him after he’d gotten the mark, not that he’d wanted it in the first place, but in order for him to continue as heir to the Black family he had no choice.
James skirted around a pallet of bricks and Regulus took his shot. The scaffolding above James collapsed to the ground. James managed to put up a shield around himself before the poles hit, but the force still knocked him off his feet. “Until next time my love,” Regulus called before apparating away. That had been a close one, James had gotten way too close. He had no qualms about taking out any of those other idiots in the so-called Order, even his brother wasn’t entirely safe from him. If he had to he’d do what was needed to stay alive, but James, with James he wasn’t strong enough, never had been.
He slammed the door shut on number twelve Grimmauld Place, his useless right arm swinging beside him and readied himself for the mind-numbing boredom in store for him at the next death eater meeting.

10th May - Only one bed/room - @wolfstarmicrofic - word count: 711
Remus was out of breath as he burst into the room. Sirius followed closely behind, having barely broken a sweat but eyes darting wildly, trying to figure out if they'd been followed before closing the door and locking it with a muttered incantation.
Remus cursed his body, weakened as it was so close to the full moon. It had betrayed him, failing him when he needed it the most. It had put them both at risk in their task to wait and watch and see if the information they'd received about the Dolohov and MacNair proved to be correct.
But they had been spotted, it had been all his fault, and Remus felt shame again as he remembered the way he'd slumped against Sirius, relying on his power and his pure physicality to Apparate them out of danger and to bring them here.
It was a Muggle hotel, perhaps somewhere unfashionable in a large urban area? Perhaps London somewhere? The man behind reception had waved them through with barely a glance as Sirius had slid the notes across the counter. The man had flicked the ash from his lit cigarette into a coffee cup with nicotine stained fingers before passing the set of keys. Remus wondered how it was that Sirius knew this place...wondered when and why he'd been here before...
Perhaps once he would have asked. Or perhaps not, Remus conceeded, his curiosity always stifled by a shy awkwardness and something too much like jealously for comfort that held him back from prying.
Remus still struggled to catch his breath, leaning back, taking in the wallpaper peeling from the walls and the bed with scratchy blankets, the silence broken only by his unsteady breathing.
"I'm sorry," Remus offered, weakly, desperate for something to say.
Sirius turned from where he had been peering through the peep hole in the door, dark hair falling in front of his eyes.
"It's fine," he said, simple and short.
A moment of silence from the hallway beyond told them both that they hadn't been followed.
"Lie down," Sirius said coolly, his eyes taking in Remus levelly who was trying and failing to conceal his pain.
"I...I just need a moment."
Sirius eyebrows drew together. He was unconvinced.
"Don't try to hide it. You need to recover. This close to the full moon is always difficult..."
Sirius trailed off, and Remus felt a tightening in his stomach. Remus caught the discomfort flicker in Sirius' face, a ghost of familiarity he quickly chased away with sarcasm when he said, "You'll be no good to the Order if you keel over."
Reluctantly, Remus made his way over to the bed, kicking off his shoes before laying down. The mattress sagged badly beneath him, but he couldn't deny the relief it afforded his weary body.
A strange tension settled between them. Sirius sat down on a chair that he put by the door, throwing his jacket over the back of it, settling in to keep watch. Although uneasy, Remus felt comforted by the presence of Sirius in a way that pained him to realise. And soon enough, he had closed his eyes and drifted into a dreamless sleep.
It was some hours later when he woke, confused as to where he was. Darkness had stolen into the unfamiliar room, and Remus' eyes struggled to adjust to take in his surroundings, strange shadows cast by furniture he couldn't place.
Remus shifted and felt the weight of a body close beside him. It made him start, his heart lept into his throat, before a familiar voice said lowly, softly, "Dont worry. It's me. I just needed to...lie down."
Suddenly, Remus' senses seemed to return. The sight of the dark silhouette of Sirius in the bed beside him. The sound of his breathing. The scent of woodsmoke and spice. The warm pressure of his body, so close and yet kept so carefully apart. It was heaven to feel him beside him, and hell to be reminded of how distant they remained.
Remus could do nothing. Mere inches existed between them. He could not reply. He waited a moment, held his breath, willing for Sirius to say something further...
And in the silence that followed, Remus turned away.

after sirius runs away to the potters and regulus takes the dark mark, they stop talking.
like, really stop talking.
but sometimes after a raid, or a meeting, or being screamed at by their parents, regulus finds himself returning to the park he and sirius would play in as children.
perched on the rusty swing set, eyes red-rimmed and shirt untucked, he sometimes sees a big, black dog sitting on top of a bench.
they just stare at one another. neither blinking, neither moving.
sirius never told regulus about padfoot, so never approaches him properly. plus, reg is much more of a cat person.
he still feels an obligation towards his little brother. remus and the others don't get it; they know he sometimes disappears for hours and comes back quiet and shivering, and they know it has something to do with regulus. but sirius doesn't know how to explain that no matter how terrible his brother may be, he's still sirius' responsibility. he always will be.
so he goes. sits and waits for his brother to arrive, subdued and slowly wasting away, just so that he knows he's still alive. if anything, its to stop the guilt from eating at him inside. because if reg is still alive, still here, then sirius has done his job, even if he left him behind.
the dog is comforting to regulus.
but not for the right reason.
padfoot has always been a symbol of life and friends and freedom for sirius. but for regulus, watching a big, black, dog staring him down, he sees nothing but death.
death, hovering, waiting to take him in his clutches at last.
and regulus never breaks eye contact. he just stares down his inevitable fate as he disapparates out of the park.

Reggie,
I am writing to you knowing that this paper will probably be destroyed the second it lands in your hands. Suits me right for burning your letter. But there are some things I need you to know before the war divides us for good.
I'm sorry. For leaving you behind, for isolating myself, for not being the brother you needed me to be. I never thought of you any less after we were separated by the color of our robes. I still saw you as my little brother, my little star, my hope and pride. You may not remember it (I won’t blame you for that), but I miss our meet-ups, on a roof, to watch stars. We were trying to find each other in the sky. I had and will always find you. And I hope that after all of this, you will look for me too.
Even with the possibility of you killing me or being thrown into Azkhaban, I love you. I'll dream about the day when we can sit down once again and celebrate our survival, no matter the cost.
I hope this letter finds you.
Sirius.

Chapter 12 in Heavier Than Light by sid_larsson on ao3. Updated yesterday.🖤
“I have to go.” “Wait.” “I have to go,” James said, although he hadn’t moved and was still looking at Lily. She stepped forward. Her fingers twitched as she grazed against his jaw. He was looking at her and the expression was hard to interpret. “Be careful,” she said. “Be careful. Don’t take unnecessary risk—” He cut her off with his lips. Immediately, Lily folded. Her hands clutched his face. It felt like she was falling, falling, trying to pour herself into him. He ran his hands down her sides, around her waist. He tangled his fingers in her hair. His mouth was hot, insistent. Lily grabbed him fiercely. Then he broke away again. “Don’t worry.” There was the ghost of a smirk. Lily continued to stare at James, coldness constricting her chest. “I’ll come back for you,” he said.
Dark retelling of Wuthering Heights during the First Wizarding War. Featuring Lily Evans, James Potter, and Severus Snape. Heavy angst; reader discretion advised.

“You all are to be in the area around L/n Manor tonight.” Dumbledore said to James, Sirius, Marlene, Remus, Dorcas, Fabian, Gideon and you one evening at another Order meeting. You visibly had paled upon hearing the name of that hellhole. It was a building that haunted your nightmares even today, after all, you had only managed to slip away from your vicious family’s clutches not too long ago.
“L/n Manor?” You asked hollowly, hoping you had misheard.
“Yes, Miss. L/n.” Dumbledore replied making you shut your eyes for a brief second. “You will be leading the mission.”
“M-Me!?” You sputtered.
“Indeed, as you would have the most knowledge of the area, it is the best choice to have you direct the mission. All I want you to do is to see if you can collect intel and if needed, duel and capture any death eaters. The more of them we can take down, the faster we can end this war.”
You nodded, still in disbelief but you vigorously shook your head. Now was the time to work against the wrongdoings of your family. You straightened yourself up with an air of determination.
“As you wish, Headmaster.”
And an hour later, you along with the rest of the members for this particular mission, found yourselves scattered around the outside of L/n Manor.
You watched on while gritting your teeth as anger washed over you, as looking at just the mere building that you had spent years suffering in ignited a fire within you.
“Aw, why so upset at the sight? It’s home sweet home after all, darling.”
You jumped at the sudden voice, slapping a hand over your mouth to prevent a shriek from escaping.
“What the fuck do you think you’re doing, Potter!?” You hissed at James who merely shrugged his shoulders while bearing a mischievous grin on his lips.
“Thought I’d grace you with my glorious presence.”
You raised an eyebrow as you scoffed, “You sure you’re not, Sirius Black?”
This made James let out a chuckle and you immediately slapped a hand on his mouth, making him stare down at you with wide eyes.
“Are you trying to get us caught?!”
However these words just flew over James’ head as he stared at you, making you squirm slightly in discomfort under his intense gaze and you removed your hand, returning your eyes to the Manor. The young Potter however kept staring at you, his body feeling something he had not felt many times before.
“It’s rude to stare, Potter.”
At that, James snapped out of his trance, folding his arms over his chest.
“I was not!”
“You were.”
“Was not!”
You hummed, “Whatever makes you sleep at night.” You answered, grinning teasingly.
James opened his mouth to retort, however a huge rock blasted behind him, making you both scream and raise your wands as you got into battle form, standing back to back.
“Shit!” You said, “Where’s the attacker-“
More explosions and yells cut you off as your fellow Order members were also suddenly attacked by death eaters. You made a move to get to them but James pulled you back as three dark figures materialized around the pair of you.
“Shit! Shit! Shit!” You cursed. This was not supposed to happen. They had somehow figured out you were coming. Again.
Voldemort’s followers had merely been waiting for the perfect opportunity to attack, after having lulled the Order into a false sense of security.
“Confringo!” Someone shouted and a spell headed your way, which you quickly deflected. Meanwhile James was doing the same. You both remained back to back, throwing spell after spell at the dark figures.
“Immobulus!” You shouted and this time the fast moving light managed to hit one of them directly on the chest, freezing the death eater entirely. You pushed on with a new air of determination at your victory, and shot another spell at the other figure, who, watching their partner fall defeated was distracted and failed to notice the spell too late, and also got knocked over.
You let out a small air of relief as you heard James behind you take down the final opponent the two of you had.
“We have to get to the others!” You shouted, as chaos rang all around you. James nodded, however your eyes widened as you saw another masked death eater appear over his shoulder, who had raised a wand at James’ back.
“Sectemsempra!”
You shoved James out of the way.
He fell to the ground which made him glare in anger as he thought you were finally showing your true colors. However when he looked up, his face drained of all color.
You were writhing on the ground, blood seeping through your clothes and pooling around your body rapidly. You let out cries of agony as pain shot through your whole being.
James rushed towards you, dropping onto his knees.
“No! No! No! No!” He muttered as he tried to stop the bleeding, all his attention on your small frame that he had forgotten the threat was not over. A bright light zoomed his way but Sirius had managed to make his way over and deflected the spell, and fired one of his own, which took down the death eater.
“Prongs!” He yelled but James just stared at your form, fussing over as he tried to heal you. “PRONGS!” Sirius shouted, making James look at him. “You have to take her back, we’ll take care of the rest.”
James nodded, picking up your body and turning on the spot. He stumbled as he landed near the outskirts of the new safe house acting as Headquarters currently, with you in his arms.
He looked down at you and fear filled him up. You were slipping into unconsciousness as your eyelids were dripping closed.
“Fuck!” He said, “Come on, stay with me, Y/n!”
You could barely see him as you were slipping into the darkness, but you managed to mutter out. “At least I’ll have died for a good cause, huh? Celebrate all you want, P-Potter…” Your head lolled back as your eyes rolled into your sockets.
“Shit, you’re not dying on my watch!”
James kicked open the door and rushed in, catching the attention of Molly Weasley.
"Oh dear, what happened?" She asked as James rushed you into a room, laying you down on the bed.
"I-I don't know. One second everything was fine, the next second she was on the ground. I don't know what spell hit her b-but I can't stop the bleeding." James rambled his eyes fixed upon your form.
Could he really have been wrong about you this whole time?
"I can't get the bleeding to stop." Molly stated, straightening.
James paled even more, if that was even possible.
"But there must be something we can do!" He exclaimed in panic. "She can't..." He broke off, not being able to voice the thought.
"I'm going to get Lily, she's training as a Healer anyway. Hopefully she can get the situation under control." And with that, Molly rushed out the door, leaving James alone with your dying form in the room. The silence was suffocating, but it was your rasped breaths that were scaring James.
You had saved his life and taken the blow of the spell. He couldn't let you die, even if he did hate you before. He just couldn't let you die. He wanted to be able to make it up to you.
Lily rushed in, followed by Molly, wide green eyes surveying the situation before she pulled out her wand, beginning to mutter incantations. However, you were turning more pale by each passing second as every healing spell failed to work.
"Evans!" James cried out in panic, "Why isn't it working?"
Lily frowned, staring at your body in thought before muttering another incantation, "Vulnera Sanentur. Vulnera Sanentur. Vulnera Sanentur."
The words almost flowed like a song and James watched with relief that the bleeding had ebbed away, and it appeared that the wound was being healed. He released a shaky breath and rubbed his face.
Molly, having muttered something about preparing a good meal for you, walked out of the room, leaving James with Lily working over you.
Lily straightened, her face looking slightly pale.
She was feeling sick, now knowing what the spell created by her former best friend really did. She still couldn't believe the man now was the same innocent boy, who had introduced her to the magical world.
"I can't believe it." She breathed out.
"What?" James asked, tensing up. Lily turned to face him.
"The spell that was used on Y/n was something I had once seen in Severus' potions book. I-I hadn't realized what the spell did but now I know. I can't believe he once used to be my best friend." Lily explained. "If I hadn't ever seen the counter-curse to it in his book, Y/n would have been..."
Dead.
Lily shook her head, getting rid of the thoughts roaming in her head.
"I'm surprised to see you this stressed though, Potter."
James' brows furrowed, "Meaning?"
"I mean you hate Y/n, but now you're here worrying and so panicky, it's ironic." The redhead answered.
James frowned, "I was not!" He cried indignantly before he slumped. "She saved me."
Lily's eyebrows shot up, "Saved you?"
James nodded, "She pushed me out of the way and the spell hit her." He said, looking at your now sleeping form. "I just don't understand why."
Lily gave him a sympathetic look. "She isn't bad as you perceive her to be. Y/n was nothing but kind to me at school."
James blinked owlishly. Lily sighed, giving him a pat on the shoulder before exiting the room.
He had once pursued Lily, chased after her endlessly but the redhead never agreed and soon, James was so crushed he decided to move on. Although, now he stared at you, wondering why he felt this feeling he hadn't felt in years.
A feeling that had only ever filled his whole being when he was chasing after Lily.
He shook his head, slapping his cheeks lightly. What in the world was he thinking?
James stayed by your side as Lily came back and gave you some potions like the Blood-Replenishing Potion, due to the severe loss of blood. He stayed by your side even after everyone had returned from the mission. He stayed by your side well into the night.
Guilt was eating him up and he truly wanted to make it up to you.
He eventually fell asleep by your side, both your breaths coming out in a synchronizing manner.

A/N: Hey all! So the fight scene was one big chunk of the original idea I had before I decided to make a series instead, so yeah. Hopefully you all liked it! I'm not good at writing fight scenes so hopefully that wasn't too bad! See you all in the next one! <33

"Do you love me?"
Regulus looks up from the red wound on his arm. A white towel cleans up the dried blood with gentle movements, pausing when the question leaves James' lips. His dark brown eyes secure themselves on Regulus, who is quiet as he sets the towel down, reaching for the tiny needle and black thread. Still looking up at James.
He only looks away long enough to carefully insert the thin thread into the needle, James has always been scared of that stuff, but now it isn't the sharp needle he fears. Regulus looks back up at him and his arm is held gently in place by Regulus' cold hands.
James notices a strange glint in familiar grey eyes and a smirk tugging on the corners of the other's mouth.
"What do you think?" Regulus finally replies, his tone mocking yet full of fondness that James has carefully remembered.
He bites down on his tongue to quiet a yelp of pain when the sharp point enters his skin, tugging the meat of his arm as Regulus drags the needle through to sew up the cut. He feels his eyes water whether it be from the pain of the wound or his heartbreaking.
"You love me," he breathes out through the pain "but it hurts. Your love hurts."
Regulus lets out a humorless chuckle and continues to sew James' opened arm up as his leg bounces up and down, anxious about the Death Eaters that could find them in this dank London alley.

Eternal Void
Barty Crouch Jr. was never a Death Eater, but that doesn’t mean the war didn’t leave deep scars. He always stood on the sidelines, watching as his friends, those he once considered his family, became involved in a struggle he could never fully understand. Regulus Black, Dorcas Meadowes, Pandora, and Evan Rosier—the Slytherin Skittles—meant everything to him. Together, they formed a united group, a silent resistance amidst the chaos.
Regulus was the first to disappear, leaving a void that no one could fill. The news of his sacrifice spread like wildfire: Regulus had destroyed Voldemort’s Horcruxes, ensuring that the Light Side had a real chance to defeat the Dark Lord. But his death was only the beginning of Barty’s losses.
Dorcas, with her indomitable spirit, was next. She was captured and killed by the Death Eaters while trying to save a Muggle-born family. Her death was brutal, and Barty felt as if the world had lost one of its purest hearts.
Pandora, with her brilliant mind and haunting visions, couldn’t escape the horrors she foresaw. Her death was a devastating blow to everyone, especially Barty, who had always admired her for her courage and wisdom. Watching her fall was like seeing the light extinguish from the world.
Evan, his best friend since childhood, fought until the end. He died in a confrontation with the Aurors, facing the inevitable tide with the ferocity that had always defined him. Barty couldn’t be there to help him, and that guilt haunted him every day since.
In the end, Barty was the only one left. All of his friends, those who once filled his life with meaning and color, were gone. The victory of the Order of the Phoenix over Voldemort brought him no solace, only a deep and persistent pain. He became a symbol of resilience, the lone survivor, but to him, he was nothing more than a shadow of what he once was.
The voices of Regulus, Dorcas, Pandora, and Evan echoed in his mind, constantly reminding him of what he had lost. He could imagine Regulus telling him that his sacrifice wasn’t in vain, that he did it for the greater good. But those words brought no comfort; they only deepened his sense of disconnection from the world.
He walked through the empty house of his childhood, now a mausoleum of lost memories. The corners where they once laughed together were now filled with an oppressive silence. His parents were dead, also victims of the war, and he was the last Crouch. The last of the Slytherin Skittles.
At night, insomnia consumed him. He would close his eyes and see the faces of his friends, but when he opened them, there was only darkness. He felt like a ghost, trapped in an endless cycle of guilt and loneliness. He wondered if he would ever feel anything other than this numbness, this absolute disconnection from everything he once loved.
But he knew he wouldn’t. The war had taken everything, even his ability to feel.
(Based on the song Numb by XXXTENTACION).
(Barty was the last one left as Remus has been).
(I clarify that in this story there was only the first wizarding war).
