🎮A Gamers profession
Timeskip!Kenma Kozume X F!Y/n
Summary: Y/n and Kenma are a couple, also living together. While Kenma is streaming and struggling with a game, he soon admitted to need help from you, a professional game breaker.
Warnings: Nerd talk, SFW, possible grammar mistakes, cause english is not my native language.
| MASTERLIST | REQUESTS |
//----//----//----//
You love your job. It's fun, well paying and not so stressful. Kenma, your boyfriend, also likes your job, but sometimes he just wants you to stuff your face with a pillow when he's playing, especially when he's livestreaming.
You often get to know the next top game before everyone else. You get information on a game while it's still in the making and you have to play the game for endless hours before it's officiall release.
You're not designing the game or anything. No, you're here to break the game into pieces, testing limits, testing the code, testing AI. If it breaks, then the developers have more work to do. Or they simply just decide it is going to be a 'feature'. It's their choice. You just deliver the bugs to them.
So, then why does kenma want to shut you up sometimes?
Because of your job, you have developed a very good sense for game mechanics, attack patterns and the more advanced stuff on how a game is build. When Kenma encounteres a boss, he just knows you could beat it in a few minutes. He knows you could rush to an over the top overpowered boss and never get hit once, thou it would take longer to beat it.
It's when Kenma's visibly is frustrated, staring at his screen with an unhealthy posture, you then sometimes get up from your couch and take a look at what he's struggling with. As soon as you got into frame the viewers will start to spam the chat with messages about you.
Mostly just spamming your name but others will write absurd things like "mama's here to help" or "the professional is watching"
You just have to stand behind the chair and kenma starts to tell you to not say anything.
"Don't you dare tell me, I want to find it out myself" he complains and you just put up your hands "I didn't do anything, I'm just watching, but tell me if you need help"
So far he never needed help from you. He of course is an intelligent and very good gamer himself. Never have you doubted him.
___
You're currently on your own pc in a separate Office in your and Kenma's home. With a switch controller in your hands and feet up on a footrest, you happily enjoy playing some animal crossing on the bigger screen of your gaming setup.
Today's quiet cold so you're wearing a wearable blanked with a hoodie combined. It looks like a cat. On your table is a steaming hot tea, waiting to be cooled down a little. You were fishing all around the island in game to get the last fish of the museum collection, but the sporadic waves of tiredness are definitely not doing you a favour when it comes to pressing the right button at the right time. The game definitely knows how to get you so relaxed you could fall asleep right then and there in your gaming chair.
Another wave made you a little more tired than the usual waves. This time you had doze off for a few seconds before jolting back awake and continued your fishing spree. Work definitely was a bit to much with the winter holidays coming up and a lot of new games wanting to be released in early spring. Is also added up to your tiredness.
You glanced over to the time on your Pc and realised it's only 4pm, definitely to early to sleep now. You also know that Kenma was streaming for an hour now, since he always starts at 3pm.
Thou you don't learn from your mistake to play animal crossing while nearly dozing off and just continued, but rather than fishing you instead decided to continue to decorate the island.
It went well for the first hour. You made a plan and checked on the internet if there's the suitable furniture for it. The first decorations had been placed on their right spot, paths has been made but just a few minutes after the first hour, the tiredness has claimed you back.
While you were in the office relaxing every bone to a complete flat line, the person in the other office was nearly about to destroy a keyboard. The boss he was fighting was beating kenma every time to 0 HP. Kenma had stopped yesterday's stream in a near rage quit but today he had to beat it to get further in the game. He hasn't got past the boss and was getting more and more frustrated as well as confused. Sometimes he swears the boss just doesn't take damage and gets a massive attack bonus. Chat is convinced the boss wasn't beatable and was begging to kenma to bring out the game breaker, aka you.
Of course, he denied it at first but after an hour of trying and dying he finally gave up. Without a word he placed down his headphones, pushed his microphone back a little bit and walked out of the frame. His viewers were ecstatic and surprised that he'll need help from you.
As kenma was busting open the door to your office, the loud noise of the door made you jolt up from your chair. Your hair went places and the hoodie blanket went all the way up to your chin, telling kenma without a word that you were sleeping in your chair just now.
"I was definitely not sleeping" You stated in your defense with a sleep drunk voice, but Kenma did not believe you and smiled at how cuddly you looked. With a quick glance at the time you asked the streamer "Quit already? You're usually up till late at night"
Kenma placed his hands in the pocket of the black hoodie he's wearing and sighed, remembering why he's here in the first place "I think the game's bugged. I can't defeat the boss. I tried so many times" He slightly looked away, feeling a bit embarrassed about asking you.
At the word 'bugged' you stood up, placed the switch controller on the desk and walked over to him. You slipped your hands into his hoodie and took his hands in your own. "let's see what I can do"
The two of you went to his streaming room, but before you entered, the hood from your blanket hoodie went over your head to hide this atrocious mess of hair on your head. You quickly checked your appearance in the hallway mirror. As soon as the viewers got a glance at you and what you're wearing, they all typed in chat 'You're looking so cozy rn' 'where did you buy it?' 'looks so fluffy' 'I want to cuddle with you'
You waved at the camera to greed the viewers and kenma gestured you to sit down in his chair. You smiled at your boyfriend and placed your feet also on the chair, making you a cozy fluffy blanket ball.
He then quickly explained to you what he was doing and what was happening. Kenma then also pulled over another chair to sit down and watch you. You first tried your best max out attack and defence with his current equipment, but there wasn't even a slightest chance. You voiced out a small "Huh?" Before trying again.
The viewers could see on your face that something was up. You aren't a streamer and wasn't talking while playing the game and kenma knew to not disturb your concentration, but the viewers still seemed to enjoy watching you trying the best you could. It was the first time you were seriously playing a game with the intention to win and they were all very ecstatic as you tried to not get hit. One could tell how everyone was excited at this moment, the chat also was getting slower.
After half an hour, you had placed down the controller. The boss could hit the hero, because they weren't dodging anymore and the player dies in an instant. The question marks around your head were very visible. Something definitely is not right here. As soon as the game went to its pause menu, the viewers knew something serious it about to happen.
You grabbed the laptop from Kenma, booted it up, put in his password without a fail and went to the internet. The website from your work company appeared after a few clicks and at this moment Kenma realised what was happening.
He looked over to his camera and explained laughing "Guys, I apparently found a bug. Stuffs about to get serious now" The chat was then filled with suprised emojis. It didn't took 5 minutes and a donation came in.
Kenma glanced over to the donation site and read out loud "Thank you catlover51 for the..." He stopped a second as he saw the amount that was donated and was clearly surprised "Thank you for the 100$ and you had written down 'For Y/n, a little compensation gor having to work now' again thank you very much. You really didn't neet to donate so much"
As Kenma read the donation out loud you had began to smile behind the laptop sceen. Others then jumped onto the train as well and donated money from a single dollar to a little lager than 50$. Kenma was slightly overwhelmed my the sheer amount of donations that came in and couldn't stop thanking everyone, nearly shutting down the donation site so no one could waste more money on them. It was then you who calmed them down after finishing your research. You looked back to the camera and placed the laptop to the side "You don't need to pay me for this. It's my job and I love doing it. Also I get paid whenever I work, so I'm currently earning my money. But thank you for your concern" you smiled brightly at them before continuing to try out stuff in the game.
After some time nothing came out of the testing and you sighed. You glance over to your boyfriend, looking like a vet having to tell the owner some bad news. "You can't progress at this point, I'm sorry" His eyes widend "That's a joke right?" You just shook your head "Unfortunately not. You have found a very devastating bug, which stops you from killing the boss. As soon as an attack misses, the supposed damage gets stored and well... When the boss does hit you, then all of that stored damage gets released. That explains the bug with the one shot kill. This bug alone is manageable and already a known issue, but combined with the boss not taking any damage" you smiled at him with a sad face. "I'm sorry"
Kenma sighed and ruffled his hair "It's not your fault" he smiled and ruffled your hair as well. "Guess my save is busted then"
You took his hand in yours and looked him in the eyes. He squeezed your hand a little and looked back at you. There's a little spark in your eyes, telling him that there's something you could do "What are you up to?" He asked directly. Your eyes shift away, making you look innocent, scratching your cheek a little "I could force you out of the situation, by glitching you through a wall"
Usually kenma is against using glitches and exploits in his runs, but this is maybe the first occasion he'll consider it. He first looks at you with squinted eyes but then stood up "I'm going to the bathroom. Whatever you'll do, I'll don't know about it"
You're smile got bigger as he finished talking and went outside. He closed the door and after a little happy dance, you pressed onto respawn and forced the player to another part of the map. The viewers were watching your every step and were happy about you breaking a game infront of them.
As you were finished, you quickly saved the game and stood up, ready to leave.
"In my defence" you started talking into the camera a little bowed down to fit into the frame "I did not test this part of the game. Not my fault" You grabbed the open laptop and blew the viewers a goodbye kiss before you exited the streaming room.
On the way back to your own office, Kenma has finished his bathroom break. He grabbed your wrist before you could vanish into your room. He also grabbed the laptop and placed it on a sideboard. One hand of his wandered over to your waist, so he could pull you a little closer to him. "Thank you" he whisperd and gave you a little kiss on your cheek. "I'll make sure to finish today's stream a little earlier. Can't wait to cuddle you with this fluffy hoodie" he then again kissed your other cheek and headed back over to his room to see an alive character on a giant grassy field.
You on the other hand smiled and had to control your inner fangirl to not just scream and jump around. The viewers for sure could hear you if you were to loud.
You quickly grabbed Kenma's laptop and hid in your room, filling out a formula to get the new bug over to the Developers.

DAD!JIN who cooks breakfast for you and your child every day. it didn't matter if he was the first to wake up or if he only got up when lunch was already being made — Jin always made a point of cooking for you and your child; small pancakes or toast, natural juices or glasses of milk, Jin always made sure to provide a good breakfast for the two of you, to have all the energy and strength to face the world. between small strawberries and melted butter, in the middle of natural water and on top of the cheese, Jin poured a little of his love into each cooked piece, serving you with a smile on his face and kisses on your foreheads. “good morning, my treasures. i hope you slept well. come eat, today is going to be a big day!”
DAD!JIN who teaches your child to count with hugs and kisses. sitting on the sofa, almost lying down, Jin and your child played in the midst of laughter and screams. in the middle of that tender melody, when Jin held your kid in his arms after a little tickle fight, he would hold them and say that he would only release them when they counted to ten. a kiss — one. a kiss, a hug — two. a kiss, two hugs — three. Jin used these little tricks to teach your kid how to count, the numbers seeming so fun and easy when bathed in the love Jin felt for your child. “you have to count to ten. it's the only way you can get out now! come on, let me give you a kiss to start.”
DAD!JIN who buys a postcard for your child in every city he visits. Jin has seen the world. and in the landscapes of the world, Jin fell in love with life. there was something about the natural beauty of the world that made him feel peaceful, unique, happy to be able to experience all those adventures. and Jin wanted your child to feel the same. Jin wanted your kid to see the world too. so, whether in korea or brazil, in egypt or scotland, Jin made a point of buying the most beautiful postcard and always writing a loving sentence to show your child that there was beauty in that world — they just had to look for it. “i'm leaving a fragment of my love in every city i visit for you to collect and keep in a jar forever.”
DAD!JIN who does your child's hairstyle before they go to school. Jin always woke up early to prepare your child for school and, after choosing clothes and feeding them, Jin took your little baby to the bathroom, where he sat them in the counter and began to play with their soft hair. with elastics scattered around and hairpins in a cup, Jin took his time to treat your child's hair, always wanting the most perfect hairstyle to be done, always making your child happy with the end result. “you want a braid? i've never done one before, but i can try. you want two?! oh, cupcake, i'm not that good.”
DAD!JIN who paints tote bags and sweaters with your child on the most boring sundays. there wasn't a boring moment in your house from the moment your kid was born; and even if the monotony was peeking around the corner of your house, Jin always had a solution to make it disappear — and what better idea to share with a child than painting? colorful paints were spread in your garden on top of a huge plastic sheet and, with as many brushes as they could hold, your kid dipped them in the various colors, splashing bright and fun tones on the plastic. houses, suns, various flowers or a portrait of your family, the paintings that were kept in your garage were immense and Jin wore each one of them with a proud smile and a bright look. “look what our baby did! it's me and you! in a rocket! isn't it cool? i'm going to wear this shirt tomorrow. everyone will be so jealous.”
DAD!JIN who plays sims and animal crossing with your child when they get sick. whenever the flu struck your child and days had to be spent in bed, Jin would take his computer or console to your kid's room, sitting next to them and turning on the game. starting a new island in animal crossing, or creating your child's fairy tale in the sims, Jin spent hours with your kid, entertaining them with his jokes and games, making them forget their pain. “what do you mean you don’t want to adopt the cat? cupcake, his name is Wigglebutt! we need it in the house!”
DAD!JIN who buys your child a disposable camera every time you go on vacation and gives them an album with all the photos when they turn 18. Jin always wanted to see the world from your child's point of view. he always wanted your child's innocence and joy to be known by everyone and admired by all. so, on several shared family vacations, Jin would always buy a disposable camera for your kid, hoping that the roll would be used with magic eyes. and, when your child turned eighteen, Jin gave them a large album, each of the photos taken by them being displayed chronologically with a small message from Jin accompanying them. “all these moments frozen in time will always be present within us. and it is in my heart that i carry all the memories of these photographs.”

=============================
Today was going to be a fun day for Twice, some more than others, but a fun day nevertheless.
Today Twice were shooting commercials for the new Nintendo Switch (yeah, yeah, I know it's been out for a while, but go with it).
They were each to split up into three different groups: The maknae line, a four-member group of Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Sana, and Momo, and a duo of Jihyo with Mina.
Each group had a different game to perform and setting to showcase how portable the switch can be and the games it had.
The maknae line had a set of a living room playing Super Smash Bros Ultimate, the four-member group were stationed in a car playing Animal Crossing, and the duo of Mina and Jihyo was exercising with the newly released Ring Fit Adventure with the new Ring Fit accessory.
And today, Mina and Jihyo were the first ones to start their commercial.
It wasn't really a commerical shooting like the other two, it was more of a record yourself passing a few levels and enjoying it.
There wasn't a crew involved for these two, but the other seven had a set for them and even had to travel a bit for their site.
For Jihyo and Mina, it was their studio at JYP and there were two Nintendo staff members that guided them on how to start the game and such.
After that, they left the two alone in the room for them to enjoy.
When finished, Jihyo and Mina would tell them and the workers would collect the cameras and film in them.
That's it.
Easy enough the girls thought.
And they were enjoying it.
It was quite a workout and the two were surprised that it generated quite a sweat for a game.
It was also fun too and the two thought about getting this for them back home with the other girls to enjoy as well.
"And, there you go." Jihyo smiled as Mina clapped at her side.
"Good job Jihyo." Jihyo turned and beamed at Mina. "You think that's good for the film," she pointed at the camera at the corner as Mina nodded.
"Oh yeah, that was twenty minutes of footage, more than enough, unless they plan on having us play for a while."
"Hehe, that I wouldn't mind, this is a nice workout...alright, it's you turn." Jihyo directed as Mina stood up and was handed the Ring as Jihyo went to sit behind Mina as Mina started her level.
"Good luck Mina.!"
"Yup." Mina said as she started to jog in place.
THREE MINUTES LATER
Mina was on a roll as she was doing the activities the game was offering.
She was enjoying it very much as she posed and did everything the figure in the game did as well.
Jihyo was enjoying Mina's happiness and smiles as well as she sat behind Mina, watching her.
(AN: Imagine this, but Jihyo is a bit further behind Mina)
However...
Jihyo wasn't paying attention to the game as much as her eyes wandered somewhere else.
It's too bad for Jihyo that Mina decided to wear some very nice tights today like herself and while Jihyo wore a skirt, Mina forgoes that and decided to wear a shirt that barely reached a bit over her waist and it really showed off Mina's well fit body...okay, Jihyo meant Mina's butt.
Out of all the girls, Mina was the top when it came to taking care of her body and Jihyo observed that it was worth it as she saw how defined Mina's ass was.
And it certainly didn't help that the game made Mina jump, jog, twist, and turn and it made Mina's butt pop out even more than Jihyo found that way more interesting than the game itself...and no, this wasn't the first time she did some sightseeing on Mina.
Yup, Jihyo, the leader of Twice, was into girls.
A lesbian.
She didn't know exactly when, but she can say around her middle school years that she found girls to be more attractive and easier to be around than guys.
And it was the day she asked another girl to the last year of middle school's dance event and got her day ruined when she responded...
'that's weird and you're weird'
...and walked away.
Poor Jihyo felt her heart split in two upon hearing those words and ran home with tears.
After seeing her depressed state coming home, her mom asked what's wrong and with no thought about how different it was to like girls more, Jihyo told her what happened and that's when her parents had a talk about her sexuality.
It was quite a discussion that Jihyo can recall each and every meaningful word.
They even supported her after hearing those words and Jihyo thought she was weird too, but her parents told her to never call herself that.
It was who she was.
And since that day, Jihy didn't let that go to her head and kept her head up high, but she did keep her sexuality hidden from her friends of course.
She didn't know how they would take it, even though her mom told her that it was okay to tell them, just be careful about how they reacted, so Jihyo didn't tell them.
And as time went on, neither her trainers nor new friends with Nayeon and Jeongyeon and it was easy to hide...ahem 'was'.
As the training went by, Jihyo tried to keep herself in check but being surrounded by cute and beautiful girls, it was difficult since Jihyo couldn't quite keep her eyes to herself.
But she did her best to focus on her training until a certain J-line member came through those practice doors.
--------------------------------------------
FLASHBACK - 2014
9 months before Sixteen started
"And...finish."
Both trainee Jihyo and trainee Yoo Jeongyeon posed for the mirror as the music died down until their breaths were the only sounds in the room as they dropped their arms to their sides and returned to regular stance.
They were actually training until they started to fool around with the last song to blow some steam off.
"That was great," Jeongyeon stated as she rose her hand and Jihyo did the same to give a high five to another.
"Even our actual practice, I think it's our best ones yet."
Jihyo shook her head.
"No, I messed up on the second song, I turned the wrong way during the second verse." Jeongyeon shook her head.
"Oh come on Jihyo, we've been dancing for an hour and you point out one misstep. No one is going to be complaining about that. You were perfect."
"Perfect is a hundred percent that was ninety-nine percent." Jeongyeon rolled her eyes.
"You got to stop being so critical about yourself Jihyo," Jeongyeon walked towards the corner of the room, "you're already the best here. Now sit down."
Jihyo took it and sat on the floor of the dance room. She felt the sweat pouring down her nose and her feet were a bit burned by the amount of time.
Perfecting a dance for what seemed like hours would do that.
"Here." She managed to look upwards to spot her fellow trainee Jeongyeon with two water bottles and two clothes out with both hands as Jihyo reached up sluggishly.
"Gamsa..." Jihyo accepted one of each and opened the cap of water as Jeongyeon sat down with her and mirrored with the water.
After taking a gulp of refreshing water, Jihyo lowered the bottle and took a breath in and out.
"Thank you for practicing with me Jeong, you didn't have to."
Jeongyeon shook her head while applying the cold cloth to her forehead.
"I wanted to, I have to train too you know. We're not all the best." She joked as Jihyo chuckled and Jeongyeon smiled. "Well, while we're resting, you heard the news around Jeongyeon said as Jihyo shook her head. "A new trainee is joining JYPE today."
Jihyo got curious.
"Really?"
Jeongyeon nodded.
"And she's from Japan as well. Like Sana and Momo. Jeongyeon explained as Jihyo nodded.
"This place is getting more and more new girls. Well, when or if she gets here, we'll greet her with warm welcomes." Jihyo said as Jeongyeon nodded.
However...
'Oh god, this place is getting more and more new girls. She's gonna be another pretty one like Sana and Momo...! can't even keep my eyes off them...'
Jihyo kept her smile, but she was gyrating herself in her mind that many cute and pretty girls were in this agency already, and since keeping her sexuality a secret...it was damn difficult.
"Yeah. Its rumors but I heard that she was an amazing ballet dancer. Been at it for ten years."
Jihyo nodded, taking in that information.
"Ten years huh, anything else?" She asked as Jeongyeon shook her head.
"Nothing besides that. Think we should give her a warning about Sana?" Jeongyeon grinned as Jihyo chuckled.
"Hehe, I'm sure she'll be fine. Sana will keep her hands to herself."
'Not that I'm complaining when she does it to me'
"You're talking about the impossible."
Jeongyeon furthered as they both gave a small laugh. "So, anything new with you?" She asked Jihyo.
"Nothing, the only new thing is my dad had-"
SQUEAK
Jihyo stopped as the door opened and a head popped out of the opening.
"And this is-oh, ohiyo Jihyo, Jeongyeon!" Sana's smile lit up the room as she gave a head bow towards both Jeongyeon and Jihyo waved at her.
"Ohiyo Sana," "Ohiyo," both girls replied.
"Uhm, I'm sorry, am I interrupting?" Sana asked while not entering the room yet as Jihyo shook her head.
"No, what's up?" She asked Sana as Sana looked behind her and then to Jihyo and Jeongyeon.
'I'm showing a new girl around."
Both Jihyo and Jeongyeon heard and turned themselves to Sana.
"The new girl's there?" Jeongyeon asked as Sana nodded. "Do you mind if we say hi?"
"Of course," Sana turned her head, "There's a couple of my friends here that I want to introduce, is that okay?" Sana spoke in Japanese as both Jihyo and Jeongyeon couldn't understand what she said. "Great."
Sana opened the door more and as she walks inside, Jihyo noticed the newcomer trailing behind her...and her breath hitched.
I'm using present Mina, feel free to use any photo
Jihyo's eyes fall on a startlingly beautiful woman, and she can't seem to tear her eyes away from her. Her chestnut-colored hair flowed down like a waterfall falling just past her shoulders and the perfect amount of makeup that emphasized her visuals.
She's dressed casually, in a pair of skinny blue jeans and a dark short sleeve top that hugs her slight curves in all of the right ways.
Her eyes are surveying the room and for a moment Jihyo got lost in their beauty.
Astonishingly dark eyes; kind but looking a little timid as she looks around.
"Jihyo? Jihyo?" Jihyo jerked, turning back to the sound of Jeongyeon's voice who was standing. All three, including this goddess that walked in, were staring down at her and Jihyo felt her face flush, and her heart starts to pound.
"H-Huh?" Jihyo muttered, clearing her suddenly dry throat. "O-oh ahem, s-sorry..."
Jihyo quickly rose to her feet.
Jeongyeon quirks an eyebrow and shakes her head.
"Jihyo, Jeongyeon, this is Myoui Mina." She turned to the new girl and Mina nodded back as her eyes went to Jihyo's and Jihyo was hypnotized as she saw Mina's faint smile.
'Myoui Mina...'Her name echoed in Jihyo's mind and she found it flowing ever so soothing and beautiful like her and her heart raced with heat that it felt like fire.
"Ohiyo Mina." Jeongyeon welcomed her, knowing just a tiny bit of Japanese with both Japanese girls of Sana and another: Hirai Momo.
"Ohiyo..." Mina's voice was soft and gentle and Jihyo's first impressions of the girl kept rising.
"Hehe~" Sana turned to Jihyo, "she's starting today here with us," she continued, 'I'm showing her around until Momo arrives so she can hang with us to feel more relax." Sana then turned to Mina, "Mina, these are two of my friends: Jeongyeon," Sana talked in Japanese as she pointed at Jeongyeon who bowed to her and Mina returned the action,
"and this is Jihyo." Sana pointed at Jihyo as Mina turned to her and Jihyo gulped as Mina sent shivers down her spine.
Jihyo raised her arm and weakly waved.
"O-ohiyo...
"Ohiyo..."
Both girls stared at one another as Sana and Jeongyeon alternated looks between the two.
"Anyway..." Sana voiced as Mina looked down and Jihyo turned to Sana, "Imma continue showing Mina around. She turned to Mina, "shall we go?" In Japanese to Mina as she looked at Sana and nodded. "Great!
Then I shall leave you two to your training."
Jeongyeon nodded as Jihyo side-eyed Mina as she was looking around the room, "come on Mina, baibai you two~"
Sana walked back towards the door as Mina took a look at Jeongyeon and bowed and turned to Jihyo and bowed as well, but Jihyo swore she took a second longer staring...at least that's what she thought as Mina turned and followed Sana out the room and Jihyo felt the gravity lessened in the room as she took a silent, yet deep breath.
"You alright? You looked kind of lost there." Jeongyeon asked as Jihyo turned to her and nodded quickly, maybe too quickly.
"'Yeah, maybe I'm a bit tired after all..."
"You tired? Never thought I heard those words from you." Jeongyeon grinned as Jihyo gave a faint smile at her remark, "well, at least we got to meet her. I think she'll fit in fine soon enough, she looks like a singer as well. Wonder how long she'll be here as a trainee?"
"Who knows." 'Hopefully for a long while.'
"Hmm, well with those three together, maybe a Japanese trio is being planned. Although we are in Korea...ah well, we'll see what happens.
So what now?"
"Uhm...c-can we just sit for a minute?" Jihyo needed to calm down and Jeongyeon stifled a chuckle.
"Hehe, sure we can."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SHUT
"Well what you thought?" Sana asked as they turned from the door they left down the hall on the right.
"They seem nice." Mina said as Sana nodded.
"They really are. Everyone here is pretty great."
Sana noted as Mina nodded.
"So.. they're trainees like me?" Mina asked as
Sana took the moment to stop.
"Mph-hm, they both are very wonderful singers and dancers, but Jihyo is the best around."
"That girl?" Mina asked as Sana nodded.
"Jihyois the complete idol package: her singing is pure talent and amazing and she can pick up on choreography pretty quick, she has a very positive personality and is super friendly with everyone. It's sad really that she's been here for so long. Ten years now."
Mina's eyes widened and looked back as if Jihyo was there.
"Ten years?" She repeated, "..why isn't she an idol already?" Mina asked as Sana sighed and shrugged.
"Sometimes things don't go your way but Jihyo is patient enough to wait for her shot.
But that's why Jihyo is an inspiration to me I know it sounds weird and sudden that you just met, but trust me, she works harder than anyone here. No matter where she's either practicing her singing or dancing in that room." Sana pointed to her, "and I have not once heard her complain when we train together, only compliments and encouragement and assistance to me when I thought it was tough."
Mina saw the smile on her face enlarged.
"Even when we first met, I hardly understood the language, but Jihyo learned some phrases for me like good mornings and training and eating. I was very appreciative of her for that and wanted to be friends with her right then and there. She's really amazing to know and I know that you'll become good friends with her too...if that's what you want that is." Sana smiled as Mina looked back for the third time.
'Wow...'
Mina looked back at Sana and nodded.
"Great, then I'll ask if we can get lunch with her and Jeongyeon with another friend. Be right back~"
Sana walked back to the door as Mina took a breath.
'Jihyo. She does sound amazing. She was really pretty too.' Mina gave a small smile and a tint of red from embarrassment.
She shook her head just a bit to relax. 'Dang, day one and I'm already thinking of '
"Alright~ " Mina swiftly turned to Sana walking towards her, "it's settled, we're having a group lunch with them. Hopefully, more of our friends arrive as well."
Mina nodded slowly and dropped her current thoughts.
She didn't expect her first day to be going so well, she was terrified at first, but being with a fellow Japanese friend in Sana and having more friends soon who all seem to be nice made Mina feel at ease greatly.
Course there was the training to be done with but Mina was willing to put everything she had into this.
"Arigato Sana for helping me today. I appreciate it." Mina bowed slightly as Sana hummed
"Hmm~ Of course Mina, every person here goes through their days scared." Mina got into a regular stance, "I was a wreck on my first day, but as I said, meeting Jihyo and her friends made it all easy and we'll help you with anything no matter what."
Mina smiled as Sana walked forward as Mina followed her.
"I meant what I said about Jihyo, you can learn a lot from her. I do hope she gets her chance soon. Nine years isn't easy to wait out, but Jihyo is strong. She'd be one of the best idols out there easily right now. As a solo or in a group too. If she does join a group, she'd be one amazing leader too. I'd choose her to be one if we were together."
Mina found Sana's admiration for Jihyo to be impressive.
'I should get to know Jihyo a bit more.'
Mina smiled at the thought.
--------------------------------------------------------
ONE WEEK LATER
Jihyo breathed in and out.
Today was the first training session of Mina since she arrived and she and Momo were to start with her.
What was shocking was that Mina actually asked Jihyo personally if she could be there with Momo...well, Sana did.
Sana had training but Nayeon and Jeongyeon and in the afternoon so she wasn't able to attend, but Momo volunteered to go with her.
Jihyo accepted quickly, maybe too quickly, but the smile on Mina's face evavorated any doubts and Jihyo was excited but nervous.
Sana explained afterward that Mina asked her to ask Jihyo.
Of course, she was the first to arrive, early than usual...like always, but today, Jihyo was excited yet nervous.
This was the first time she and Mina were going to practice together after a week since she arrived.
They've been chatting mostly for lunches, but Mina hasn't actually done anything but getting a foothold of the place and spending most of the time being around Mom and Sana due to the language and them being the same nationality, but Jihyo understood completely and was happy that she was fitting in just fine.
She was suprised that she spoke Korean much better than Sana and Momo when they first came, but she wasn't as fluent which is understandable, but she was more impressive than Jihyo thought she would be so it was normal to communicate with her.
But Jihyo smiled and took every moment to find out more about Mina, even though she felt anxious around her still.
Jihyo felt strange.
The same kind of strange that she had for a few girls over the years.
But this was different.
It was a whole new kind of strange.
Why?
She barely knew the girl at all, yet she was so cativated by her looks, the simpliest motions, the way she speaks, her smile, ugh, her smile, that god Jihyo going for miles.
It was an entirely new feeling that Jihyo couldn't get over like she did with her prior crushes, Sana being the most recent one, but she got over it as she found Sana to be more of a sister than a girlfriend.
But Mina, man Mina was on her mind 23/7 ...what? Even Jihyo had to think about other things too.
SQUEAK
The door opened as Jihyo smiled.....but started to freak out the moment her eyes laid on Mina entering.
She was wearing white shoes, grey sweats with a black graphic tee and Jihyo couldn't help but be stunned.
Just a simple workout outfit and Jihyo found her beauty tenfold.
"Uh, ohiyo Jihyo." Mina waved as Jihyo had to get her thoughts back and waved back as normal.
"O-ohiyo Mina." Mina approached Jihyo as she gulped and stood ready. "You ready?"
Mina nodded.
"Where's Momo?" She asked as Jihyo shook her head.
"She's always late, don't worry." Jihyo answered as Mina nodded. "Nervous?"
Mina nodded once more as Jihyo knew how she was feeling as well.
"I've been there too. Don't worry about anything, you'll be fine. here you can make every mistake and I'lI be there to help you." Jihyo wanted Mina to get as comfortable as Mina gathered a new surge through her upon hearing Jihyo.
"Hai...arigato." Mina smiled and Jihyo relished that, but she turned away without staring too long.
"Ah, so should we wait for Momo or."
"Jihyo?" Jihyo looked back at her. "Can...can we talk about something?"
That was unexpected.
"Uh, sure, you okay?" She asked as Mina nodded.
"Hai, it's just, well, I wanted to thank you for being here." Mina held her right forearm with her left hand in an embarrassed manner that Jihyo found undeniably cute
"Oh, heh, it's no problem at all Mina. We're all here to help each other." Mina nodded and Jihyo had a question for her, "but may I ask why did ask me to be here as well?"
Mina looked down at Jihyo's shoes.
"Well... Sana and Momo explained that you're the best. So I thought...if I should learn, it'd be better with you...gomen...I know I'm a rookie, but I just wanted to thank you for your time to train me." Mina did a small bow as Jihyo was speechless and after a few seconds, she smiled awkwardly at the thought that Mina wanted to learn from her and even let out a chuckle.
"Hehe...uh, well, god l'm flattered Mina, but please don't say I'm the best." Mina got back into regular stance, "I appreciate Sana and Mom's words, but I don't want anyone to think that I'm the best, I still have lots to learn. And don't think that just because you're a rookie doesn't mean I'll say no to you wanting help. We're all here as trainees and we should all each other no matter what. Even out of JYPE." Jihyo stated and she didn't feel any worry about saying it because it was true.
She would be there for any of the trainees as they were all going for one goal: debuting.
And there was no competition with any of them, so Jihyo saw no point in not helping out the others.
Mina heard this and instantly her body felt elevated and a new view of Jihyo was seen through her as she admired her words.
'Sana was right, she really is a leader...kind hearted too.'
With that Mina...
"Then...do you mind if, uh, we train more together after?" Mina asked and Jihyo's heart raced at Mina asking her to train more. To hear that Mina wanted to train with her more had Jihyo jumping on the inside.
"Mina, I would be happy to train with you."
Mina smiled instantly.
"Really?" Jihyo nodded.
"Of course Mina, anytime you want."
Jihyo saw Mina's eyes lit up and her smile instantly appeared.
'Oh god, how can someone be so damn beautiful and undeniably cute at the same time...thank you Sana and Momo.'
"Hai, arigato Jihyo."
"No problem Mina...so should we wait for Momo, or start?" Jihyo asked.
"Start."
Jihyo nodded as she headed to the music station as Mina watched her back, smiling at how amazing and friendly everyone was here...a certain someone more than others.

TIMESKIP
ONE YEAR LATER
Oct 19, 2015
It was a grand momentous day for the nine women who have formed some months ago.
TWICE's debut song was released on YouTube and it was racking in numbers.
They watched it multiple times and it still got them as their feelings skyrocketed from their first song.
Every girl cried with happiness.
All their hard work, sweat, and patience finally paid off, and while every girl was happy with themselves as they were now full-fledged idols.
So much so that a celebration was spent in their dorm with their song being repeated all night with dancing, food, and drinks (alcohol-free) and goofing off until one by one, each girl dropped as sleep and fatigue took them as they headed to their rooms...except for one.
It was past midnight and the leader of Twice, Jihyo was basking in the barely lit room, watching the MV still on the TV.
An idol...Jihyo finally achieved her dream.
Ten years.
A decade it took her, but she got it.
She was now an idol, now part of a group and even the leader as well.
She pass through Sixteen and now she was here.
But she wasn't done, not by a longshot.
Her new members are looking up to her and Jihyo promised to be not just the best damn idol, but the best damn group and also the best damn leader in the world-
"Still up?" Jihyo flinched as she leaned forward and stared to her right and her heart swelled over Mina standing there in pajama pants and a pink no sleeve top. "Gomen, I didn't mean to scare you." She walked to her as Jihyo leaned back on the couch.
"Oh, it's fine. No, I can't sleep. Still too excited."
Mina settled down on the couch as Jihyo told herself to relax. Mina looked at the screen of Dahyun and Chaeyoung's rap portion but looked to Jihyo.
"So am I. I still can't believe it, I mean we've filmed for weeks for it, but to see it right there on Youtube for everyone to watch. Our first song." Mina smiled as Jihyo's heart raced. "I never thought I would debut so soon either.
Or the fact that people wanted me to be on Twice." Mina stared at her lap. "I know it's been months since we've formed, but it still feels incredible that I have fans you know." Mina turned to Jihyo as Jihyo shook her head.
"I don't think it's surprising, people loved watching you, Mina. Every performance you were in was always great and, well, you're pretty amazing to watch and listen to as well."
Jihyo blushed but the faint light made it impossible to see as Mina showed her angelic smile, but if you look closely, she was in the same state as Jihyo.
"A-arigato Jihyo. You're pretty incredible to watch and listen to as well." Jihyo felt warm in her stomach. "But I can't take all that credit...Jihyo, I want to thank you. It's because of vou l'm here."
"Mina-"
"Please, I've been meaning to thank you for a while, but now it's best now that we're alone.
When I first arrived, I've only listened to songs and karaoke and that's it, so when I first arrived through those main doors, I started to think, what if I didn't have what it takes to be anything in this line of entertainment." Jihyo was about to intervene, "I was so stressed and nervous, yet, I didn't want to turn and leave thinking what could have been. I came here to try my best and whatever happens, happens."
Jihyo thought those thoughts too.
"But then I met the most wonderful friends that I could have to ask for in you eight along my journey here, from trainee to Sixteen and now our filming and MV release, it's been amazing to experience with you eight."
Jihyo smiled warmly, but Mina looked down at her lap as she brought a hand up to her hair and pushed it behind her ear.
"But...it's because of you that I kept on going Jihyo."
Mina nodded and looked right at Jihyo and it caused her to have small heart attacks.
"After I first met you in the studio, Sana told me about you, about how you were here for almost ten years. I couldn't believe that you went that long, but Sana explained that you never gave up, you kept on going no matter how long it took for you to debut and kept training and working hard on everything you possibly could do."
Jihyo nodded just slightly.
"And I'll admit, after Sana told me about you, I didn't think she was telling the truth, but you told me yourself that lunch, and I was amazed, yet scared. Scared about how long it would have taken me to train, scared that you and Jeongyeon and Nayeon and Sana had so much experience, surely you girls wouldn't want to waste time with me, a first-day trainee, but I was wrong."
Mina reached out and placed her hand over Jihyo's as Jihyo's heart was on fire.
"But after our first training session together, you all have been there for me, but you Jihyo, you've been there day one and held nothing back to aid me in anything and everything whether it was in the agency or out of it. Not only that, you gave me the courage and strength to keep on going each day. And we trained each and every day, I felt that I wasn't going anywhere or wouldn't be able to do this, but you were there to make me feel otherwise. Sure there was the others, but it wasn't as close as you and I were Jihyo."
"..."
"And eventually when we were picked to be part of Sixteen, I was stressed that we would fend for each other, but no...you kept helping me whenever you could and not just in our group performances, but even in our rooms, you were there to talk and comfort me when everything felt so down."
Mina took a deep breath.
"There were days where I wanted to give up...but you wouldn't let me, not by forcing me to stay, but by being you and being my friend. And because of you Jihyo, I'm here. I'm here as an idol, here in a group with our first single, with amazing friends, and with an incredible leader whom I'm glad to be with."
Jihyo felt her emotions going high.
"And it's all because of you Jihyo. I am who I am now because of you...arigato Jihyo."
"Thank you for everything you've done for me in the past nine months. I promise that I'll be the best I can be and more to return what you've done for the rest of our time."
Mina ended with a small gratifying smile to her leader and it made Jihyo feel every happy emotion in her system.
So much so that Jihyo couldn't take it and brought Mina into a hug as Mina hugged her back.
"Mina...thank you. I promise to be the best leader I can be too and to be there for you for anything you need still okay? No matter what...I'm glad you're with me, Mina." Jihyo whispered as Mina hummed.
"And I promise the same to you. And I'm glad you're here with me too."
Okay, that feeling that Jihyo had before... yeah, it evolved.
===============================
TIMESKIP (STILL IN FLASHBACK)
One year later
Since that night, Jihyo and Mina became close, very close.
Not as close as Jihyo would have wanted, but she'll take it regardless.
Whenever it was something to do outside or inside, both would seek the other out to be paired up.
Both would hang in their rooms, doing anything the other wanted.
And Jihyo was with Mina every step of the way of their songs, concerts, photoshoots, and Mina was very appreciative of her.
No complaints.
No worries.
No stress.
That is until today...
'You can do it Jihyo, two words...two words...'
Jihyo sat there alone in her room, a million thoughts going through her mind at once; she honestly don't know what to think anymore.
She's tired of living a lie, but yet, the lie has made her life what it is today, but yet, wouldn't she be happier?
Wouldn't she be happy that she could finally be comfortable with herself and can finally stop worrying?
...Well, it's never that perfect, nothing ever goes down well with subjects like this.
'Everyone will be mad at me because l've been lying to them this entire time."
The nine of them have been through so much together and Jihyo didn't want to tarnish anything moving forward.
What would they think of her after telling them that she liked girls?
She sighed softly, what was she really afraid of?
Maybe it's just the different lifestyle, it's not easy being gay, society spits on you, they take away your rights, probably become an ex-idol for fans that are that much uncomfortable.
It's just not the life for her, but it's not like Jihyo had a choice.
She didn't choose to play for the other team, she was born with these damn feelings towards other women, and sometimes she hated it!
She hated that she can't be herself.
She hated lying to her friends.
And Jihyo was only human.
She's ever-changing and slowly, she's growing.
She could build an image and try to maintain it for as long as she could but she wouldn't be able to keep it up forever.
And every moment she spent with Mina, she realized that the facade would end sooner.
Mina was different, and Jihyo meant that in every sense of the word.
She was unlike any person she's met before.
She was unlike any girl she's met before.
She was always moving.
She's never met anyone quite as quiet as Mina who walks instead of runs and a choice of few words instead of talks, but Jihyo found that pleasant.
Her first impression of Mina was still the base of her impression now: beautiful, talented, dedicated, diligent but Mina was determined to prove that she could do better.
What Jihyo lacked intact, she made up for in perseverance.
Oh, how she had loads of it.
When Jihyo was not being swept up by her training, Mina was hauling her along sometimes literally, but it impressed Jihyo for Mina to train this hard as her.
No one else made her smile quite as much as Mina did.
And no one else put in as much effort too.
Only Mina.
And Mina did that only for Jihyo.
She was unique that way.
Mina was different.
Falling for Mina was different.
It was not only different but also inevitable.
She hated that she has these kept feelings for Mina hidden for SO LONG and she can't do anything about it.
It's horrible and Jihyo felt horrible.
But she can't come out.
She just can't do it,
Jihyo was terrified.
She didn't want to be hated by everyone, especially her sisters because she's been lying to them, besides her parents, she's never told anyone she's gay, never.
There have been so many times Jihyo thought and even tried coming out, but she failed every time.
The three reasons above were what made her want to confess but then she gets scared and yeah, it doesn't turn out well.
But Jihyo couldn't take it, she wanted to tell her sisters, she wanted to tell Mina that she was into girls; into her.
Even if Mina didn't swing that way, Jihyo couldn't hide these feelings any longer.
And today, today was the day...or so she thought.
She tried to muster to tell at least Naveon or Jeongyeon first, but fear got to her and it was too much to bear.
Today she wasn't all there and so quiet that even her members asked what was wrong and all she could do is lie and say 'everything is fine, just tired'
Just tired.
What a sad lie.
In fact, she just left dinner after not being able to eat even a spoonful of rice.
She excused herself and came into her room.
Jihyo groaned at how sad that must of looked and closed her eyes.
"All because I can't tell them who I am...all because I can't tell Mina how I feel...how pathetic..."
.
.
KNOCK KNOCK
Jihyo heard a soft knock at her door, "yeah?" she said mildly as the door slightly opens the love of her life slowly slips in.
"Hey Jihyo," she says softly, walking over to Jihyo's bed and sits down next to her, "you okay? You left dinner early and you've been in here all day, we're worried about you."
Whenever Mina knows there's something wrong, she won't stop until she finds out what it is and has done all she can do to help as Jihyo has done for her, one of the infinite reasons why Jihyo loves her.
"I'm fine Mina; I just have a lot on my mind that's all," Jihyo says softly.
"Well, what's on your mind?" Mina asks, "Is there anything I can help you with, you know I'm always here to listen." Jihyo smiles a little, Mina always wants to help everyone and she absolutely hates it when she can't; she also hates it when anyone won't let her help them.
Even just meeting a few weeks after she got into JYPE Mina has been around Jihyo with Sana or Momo to help translate as they hanged or trained, honestly more training as guided her.
And through Sixteen, whenever they were together or in the Minor or Major rooms, Mina helped Jihyo through it, she didn't stop until she made me smile, and not once did that smile not made Jihyo's heart beat, and never failed to put a smile on her face.
And a reason why Jihyo kept her secret, she didn't know what Mina will think.
"Jihyo?" Mina says slightly worried, her voice pulls Jihyo out of her thought.
"...nothing you need to worry about," Jihyo says, "just some things about family, nothing bad, that's all."
She lied.
She lied again.
"Hmm, so what's the real problem?" Mina asks not buying her answer.
Jihyo gulps, she planned on doing this, she could just tell her now, tell her everything,
She could come clean, and it would be off her chest.
All she has to do is tell her, just two words.
Jihyo turns to her and she looks into her eyes,
Even with an apprehensive feel, they're so beautiful, so dark, so full of care and so filled with love.
"...Mina...I-" Jihyo can't even start her sentence, her voice fails her, her heart's beating faster in her chest.
She waits patiently, her eyes growing full of concern.
Jihyo can't do it.
She can't tell her, but she has to, she has to do it!
She couldn't keep living this lie!
She didn't want to keep living this lie!
She couldn't handle it anymore!
Mina grew more worried as Jihyo's breathing increase.
"Jihyo, what's wrong?" she asks leaning forward and placed a hand on Jihyo's right arm and her body shuddered.
With a breath, Jihyo let her eyes give away everything she was feeling and she started to tear up, causing Mina to part her lips.
"I-I'm scared..."
Mina has only ever seen Jihyo cry three times: winning Twice, after their first concert, and their first award.
But to hear her idol being scared to tears pained and haunted her.
"H-hey, it's okay Jihyo, I'm here, I'm here for you."
Jihyo sniffed and gulped and took a couple of failed attempts of breathings.
"There you go, easy okay, I want to help you Jihyo, tell me what's wrong?"
"I-It would ruin everything if I did..." Jihyo spoke.
Now Mina was scared herself.
"You have no idea how much it could ruin things. I've been lying about it for too long now to just come out and tell the truth! It would ruin my friendships with you eight, especially you Mina!" Jihyo look down at her hands scratching into her thighs as Mina was trying to lower the tension as best as she could.
"Jihyo, no matter what, nothing will ruin anything with us nine. We're family." She notes softly. "No matter what it is, it won't change anything. I will still be at your side and you will still be one of my best friends, I care about you more than anything. I'll always be here, no matter what, I promise."
She whispered.
It was a line that was used a lot by people who often didn't really mean it.
But Jihyo knew that Mina meant it.
She truly felt safe with her.
But how was she supposed to even bring such a subiect up? It seemed impossible to her.
There's only one way the conversation could go unless she felt the same as her.
She honestly doubted she would.
She summoned up as much courage as she could, taking a breath and steeling herself.
"...I like girls. And I mean it sexually..."
Mina's lips parted as Jihyo didn't dare look at her.
There were a few moments of silence as Mina processed Jihyo's statement.
Jihyo figured as much, her taking in this information. At least she didn't get yelled at, but then again, Mina never raises her voice.
Jihyo let out a shaky sigh as a few more tears fell down her face.
"...r-really?" Jihyo nodded. "Y-you?"
Jihyo merely nodded.
"I-I can't believe it..."
"I'm so sorry for keeping it from you girls, I understand if you're upset."
Jihyo's eyes lowered, not ready to take the heat from Mina.
"Jihyo..."
The leader of Twice closed her eyes, shame enveloped her being, but she had to be ready to hear all the negative comments and insults from her love.
It'll break her heart, but Jihyo wanted to-
PLACE
Jihyo stopped thinking as she felt her right hand being covered on her thigh.
"Y-you have no idea how happy I am."
Jihyo slowly turned upon hearing those words.
Did...did she hear that right?
"W-what...?"
Jihyo expression changed to a wild one as Mina...
"Heh, I'm also into girls."
"..."
Jihyo gulped, taking that information down her system like her saliva.
"...Y-you're joking..."
Mina shook her head.
"I'm not joking, I'm gay as well. Since middle school." Mina pressed a hand to her chest.
Now this time it was Jihyo's turn to turn forward at the shower of thoughts.
Not only did she came out, but to hear that Mina, her crush, was also into girls!
Then...then it could be possible!
Maybe!
Just maybe!
"I-I can't believe that I'm not the only one, and it's you as well." Jihyo turned to Mina smiling ever so beautifully at her as Jihyo's heart was doing somersaults.
"I-I can't either," Jihyo muttered. "Mina don't joke with me."
"Jihyo, I promise you, l'm not. A-are you joking-"
"No...oh wow..."
Both gave an awkward smile to another.
'Should I tell her? I have to tell her right?! I mean...I have to!'
Mina turned forward and closed her eyes, releasing a sigh of relief as Jihyo pondered.
"Wow, I guess you know it feels so good to get that off our chest huh? I was so nervous to let you and the others know about my orientation since being a trainee."
She wanted Mina to tell Mina her feelings so bad.
She didn't want to live in a "what if" question anymore.
If Mina accepted, fantastic.
If she didn't, oh well.
"I have to! I got this far and to hear her say she's like me has to be a sign!'
Jihyo wasn't going to hold back this time.
"This is crazy, so crazy but so relieving and-"
"Mina." Mina turned to her and again, she saw Jihyo look so nervous once more, "..there's more."
Mina was visibly confused.
'What more can there be...unless...Jihyo likes someone...someone else...'
"There's more, the reason why I wanted to come out...not because I wanted to finally let you all know but I-I wanted to let you know the most because I was tired of hiding who I am, but more importantly, I was tired of hiding my feelings...for you."
Being shock was an understatement for Mina as she leaned back from Jihyo.
"I care so much about you Mina. So, so much that I-I have massive feelings for you..." Jihyo already said it so there was no hesitation to repeat it. "and I can't hide it anymore Mina," Jihyo got out. "You are so amazing and words can't describe how much you mean to me. Everything from our trainee days to our debut to now...you mean the world to me Mina...you're everything I could want in a girl: caring, talented, beautiful..."
"..."
"...and that's why I was afraid because I didn't want to ruin what we have.... understand if you don't share the feelings, but I couldn't hold it in any longer...I-I just wanted to tell you how I feel about you.
This was it.
Jihyo could feel herself trying to step over the edge, her entire soul prying on this moment.
The time came to a standstill as Jihyo drew what seemed like a never-ending breath.
She watched Mina's eyes widen...out of shock?
Out of disgust?
Out of excitement?
It was impossible to tell until Jihyo felt her cheeks being grabbed and forced to turn to Mina.
But it was a flash as her eyes widened, her body stiffen as Mina lunged forward and smashed her lips onto hers.
Mina was kissing Jihyo.
The J-line member kept pressing forward for a few seconds before releasing her lips from Jihyo's, her hands on her cheeks still as Jihyo was only able to stare at her smile.
"I-I feel the same to you Jihyo."
Jihyo felt a dam breaking in her heart.
Raging rivers of warmth, joy, excitement, arousal, and multiple other euphoric emotions flooded every inch of her body.
She felt her mouth turn upward into what she could only imagine was the dopiest, love-sick grin as Mina cracked a similar, but much more beautiful, smile.
"You mean a lot to me too Jihyo...you mean so much to me as well hehe...." she murmured over her shoulder added with a light chuckle.
Jihyo was so, so happy.
Mina reciprocated her feelings just as strongly as Jihyo felt them, and she could tell Mina was relieved too by the way her arms shook slightly around her.
Jihyo finally snapped herself out of her trance and returned the embrace, gently at first before daring to squeeze her tighter. It felt good, probably the best feeling Jihyo had ever experienced so far, even more than being on Twice...okay maybe just as much.
But that tight embrace was soon topped by an even better sensation when Mina pressed her lips against hers.
Jihyo closed her eyes, holding onto her partner's shoulders as she returned the kiss, thankful that her brain had registered it properly and she hadn't jerked away in surprise.
She loved Mina so much, and she wanted to convey it through the contact.
The kiss was sweet and yet so telling, quenching a thirst they had both lived too many months dehydrating from.
Mina's insides stood tall and excited, swiveling in delight as she felt Jihyo kiss back, still amazed she had brought herself to initiate the contact.
Her heart was still throbbing, but being pressed up against Jihyo like this so warmly for support, her pulse felt more elated than anything.
At last, they broke apart, panting slightly as Mina rested her forehead against hers.
"Wow.." Jihyo breathed. "Wow, hehe! D-Does this mean-"
"It certainly does," Mina smiled. "And it means we have tons to talk about, but it means that I want you too Jihyo, so much."
Jihyo's lips quivered as there was a moment of silence as they both let everything sink in. Three minutes ago they were just Twice members, but now they were-
"Girlfriends?" Jihyo babbled. "We're girlfriends now aren't we?"
"Maybe after a date or two, but that's right." Mina was too happy to keep distance between them, so she stepped in and hugged Jihyo again in a silent attempt to display her joy.
Jihyo eagerly returned the contact, willing to hold her like this for the rest of eternity if need be.
Moments passed as they reflected on the events that had just transpired, still a little shocked, but more than anything content and excited and oh so warm.
"Wow..." Jihyo breathed again. "w-we're...oh wow."
"You were making me so nervous today," Mina admitted. "But I'm happier than words can express, Jihyo. I don't know what to say either."
"Then let's not say anything," Jihyo murmured, tucking a lock of soft onyx hair behind Mina's ear before pressing another, gentler kiss to her lips.
Mina was so happy she felt she might cry, and in the end, a few tears did slip down her cheeks.
Jihyo pulled back to brush them away with soft fingers.
"My Mina," she mused to herself, "all mine."
"And my Jihyo, mine as well." Mina mirrored as they both leaned forward to-
SQUEAK
"Mina, is everything-gasp"
Both Jihyo and Mina jumped in their place as they heard the door being opened and Sana was standing there, eyes widened and mouth opened.
Both Mina and Jihyo were beyond embarrassed by being caught both by kissing and now that thev're lesbian.
What's to happen now, they didn't know, but now by being together, that lightened the ordeal, but even so, they weren't prepared for this...okay they should have been more careful, but everything was getting too much.
"W-were you two just-...are you two..." Sana pointed at both of them as she walked in closer, closing the door behind her.
Mina was beyond the color red of embarrassment so Jihyo took charge.
With Mina's returned feelings, it was a hell of a lot of stress taken off her, but still, with letting the others know, she was scared of their reaction too.
Jihyo took a deep breath and nodded, but was filled with anxiety about how fast this was going.
"Yes, Sana. Mina and I...we're gay...and we're together."
Saying that was a godsend to Jihyo's and Mina's feelings as Mina looked towards Jihyo.
Sana stopped in place.
"No...way..."
Jihyo nodded.
"I know Sana, I'm deeply sorry, but we'll explain every."
"Ahh! It's about time!"
"...eh" "...eh"
"Do you know how long we were waiting for this to happen!?" Sana outstretched her arms
...y-you knew?" Jihyo asked as Sana nodded.
"Well of course I knew! We all knew! We live together pabos! For god sake, we sleep in the same room!" Sana waved her hands around, "obviously Nayeon and I caught you checking each other out loads of time!"
Both girls were frozen in time.
"Ah I'm so happy for you two!" Sana looked like she was going to cry as well, "and before you ask, yes we're okay with you two, we always have been okay with it if anything happened between you two." Sana explained and that made Mina's and Jihyo's anxiety drop.
"Y-you are?"
"Yes, Jihyo we all are. We don't care about what you are or who you like, we love you both no matter what. You're still our leader and our penguin no matter what." Sana smiled and assured them and that hit Jihyo and Mina hard. "Just maybe don't tell manager-unnie yet though or anyone for that mat-ah Mina.
Jihyo turned to Mina and that did it, tears dropping down her cheeks like rivers and after seeing her new girlfriend cry, got Jihyo to start tearing up as well again.
Both were from happiness and relief.
In a span of no less than five minutes, both Jihyo and Mina lives went up for the best and every negative thought they had gone away instant after instant.
Before Jihyo could do anything, Sana came forward and hugged Mina in a flash.
"Don't cry, Mina. Please." She soothed as Mina burrowed her head into Sana's shoulder.
"Ahe...g-gomen sniff...l-I'm just so happyyyehe.." And Mina started to cry into Sana's shoulder as Sana patted her back.
Jihyo felt her hand being squeezed as Mina's interaction brought Jihyo into the hug as well as she joined near Mina's head and gave her a kiss on the side.
"I'm happy too Mina. So happy..." Jihyo let her tears drop as well as the three shared this hug together.
With their newfound relationship and with Sana's confession of the other members happy for them, Jihyo and Mina couldn't be anymore ecstatic to live in the open now and with each other for the next six years like this.
===========================
FLASHBACK OVER
PRESENT TIME
"Jihyo."
Jihyo's eyes shot up to Mina's turned head.
"We're not gonna have any film if you keep staring at me like that."
"But it's the best thing to watch~" Jihyo grew a large smile as Mina rolled her eyes.
"We're shooting a commercial, remember work first." Mina pointed at the camera in the corner, "now I have to delete it and start again."
"I know, gomen...but you can't blame me due to those sweats of yours." Jihyo pouted as she heard Mina laugh.
"I needed to wear something to work out in.
Just sit in front of me then." Mina didn't turn as she was focusing on the camera.
"Aww...well, I do need a small convincing to do so~"
Mina turned to Jihyo as she stood up and walked towards Mina.
"Jihyo, sigh fine, but then we work okay." Mina pointed at her as Jihyo nodded.
"Then we work, now come here~"
Mina smiled as Jihyo got up to Mina, grabbed her by the neck, and kissed her girlfriend full one.
If the kiss wasn't obvious enough, Mina and Jihyo are still a couple.
Apart from their own group, no one else knows about them, not even their manager still.
It was even arranged that Jihyo and Mina would switch bedrooms with Momo and Jeongyeon to leave the room for them to have their private time together...and no, it wasn't ALWAYS that kind of 'private times'
It was merely for them to be together without disturbing or being interrupted by Nayeon and Sana.
Plus it worked for them as well with Sana and Momo along with Nayeon and Jeongyeon being closer to one another.
Their manager took notice but disregarded thinking Jeongyeon and Momo were happier with the two.
Ever since then, the two have been inseparable, even during out in public, but they wouldn't showcase any couple acts out, merely being close to each other.
So much so, that their shipping name rose to the very top of the Twice ships, but all the members laughed it out though.
And so here we are.
Jihyo went towards her, and she stood to greet Mina.
It's a romantic novel cliche, to say they melted into each other's arms, but they did.
It was as if their bodies wanted to meet, each wanting to accommodate the other so that they fitted together perfectly in a tight embrace.

crowcat dirty talk or payneland leash and collar!! 👀
Both of these will definitely be happening, but tackling the first one first!
CrowCat dirty talk, NSFW 💖 This one… got a bit out of hand, so I hope you enjoy!
~
Thomas enjoys the fact that with Monty, his instincts are often more on display. The other brings out the feline, predatory side of him, and sometimes that means truly animal behaviors, the cat relishing the hunt, the chase. He likes that about them, how the crow is so willing to accept it; likes the release of indulging those instincts.
But he also likes being human with Monty, playing a different sort of game. He loves catching Monty off guard, playing with his mind. He doesn’t need claws and fangs to tease, not always. Just the right opportunity; he takes a perverse pleasure in teasing the other in circumstances where he won’t expect it, where he’s not equipped to respond.
Hence why he’s visited the other at the shop today. He’s taken to dropping by now and again, generally when Mick is out (he has no issue with the man, but the cursed walrus really doesn’t need to witness what goes on between the two of them, he’s got enough to deal with). Sometimes it’s just to check up on his crow; he’s still protective of Monty, still would shred any threats to him apart.
Thomas will still toy with him, though. He’s allowed to.
The other is fully focused on an item up on one of the higher shelves, stretched up on his toes, squinting at the artifact and scribbling notes onto a slightly battered notepad set on the shelf beside it. Thomas slides up behind him in silence, wrapping an arm around the other, hand flat against his stomach, face nestled against his neck. “Hi,” he murmurs, feeling Monty jolt in surprise, feeling the way his pulse jumps and speeds. He freezes, an instinctive response from an animal who is well aware he isn’t at the top of the food chain.
Then he relaxes, realizing who and what has him in their grasp, and spins around, smacking Thomas half-heartedly on the shoulder with his notepad. “Jesus. Don’t sneak up behind me,” he chides, slipping out of the cat’s grasp.
“But I like sneaking up on you,” Thomas retorts with a mischievous grin, running fingertips along the other’s spine. “I like how it makes your heart race.” Monty seems particularly wound up today, the way he only gets when he’s feeling the stress, which just makes the Cat King want to play with him all the more. It might be an odd way of blowing off steam, but hey - everyone needs a hobby.
The crow just huffs, turning back to the shelf. The Cat King takes a few short paces away from him, hoisting himself up to sit on the counter, legs crossed, lounging as he watches the crow at work. He waits, gives the other a few moments to think he’s going to be kind today and let him work in peace, before he speaks again. “I like being behind you too. Having that sweet ass pressed up against me… just makes me eager for the next time I’ll be buried inside it.”
Monty stiffens in an entirely different way this time, the tension in him half-aroused, half-embarrassed. “I don’t have time to play with you right now, I’m busy,” he mutters. But his heart’s not in it - and he doesn’t tell Thomas to stop.
He grins, a cat with cream.
“Guess I’ll just have to indulge myself by imagining, then.” His voice has lowered to an intimate, almost obscene purr, yet he delivers the words in a tone that’s almost conversational. “Maybe I’ll bend you over this counter, eat you out until you cry. Make you beg for my cock.” His tongue flicks out to moisten his lips, and he catches Monty watching out of the corner of his eye, smirks as the other quickly pretends to be focused on some other artifact. He’s not fooling Thomas.
“You love it, don’t you? Being my little fucktoy. You walk around flaunting my marks on your neck, showing everyone who you belong to.” Monty flushes, and he can smell the arousal radiating off the other - there are indeed a few fading hickeys dotting the pale column of his throat, though admittedly not all of them are Thomas’ handiwork. The crow does like to show off his marks, though, preens like the vain little bird he is.
He hums absently, almost thoughtfully. “Maybe next time I fuck that tight ass, I’ll come inside you, plug you up so you’re filled up with me all the time. Every damn thing in town will be able to scent me on you, inside you, know who owns you, know what a good little slut you are.” Monty’s almost trembling now, cheeks crimson, but he’s still trying to pretend he’s not listening. That he doesn’t want exactly what Thomas is saying.
“But I suppose if you’re busy…” He lets his voice go cool, almost dismissive, and he feels the exact moment when the crow breaks.
Monty’s inventory notes or whatever the hell he was working on are completely abandoned, and he all but drags Thomas down off the counter, kissing him hot and hungry. He tugs the other out of the shop proper, back into the break area he’s set up for himself; one of these days, the cat will actually fuck him in the shop itself, but apparently not today. He flicks a hand, a brief flare of magic locking the front door. Not that he thinks anyone is likely to wander in, but he does not want to be interrupted.
He kisses Monty back with just as much heat, licking his way filthily into the other’s mouth. Hands slide up under his shirt, nails dragging delicately along his spine, and the crow shivers for him, pressing closer still. Thomas could play with him like this all day - but he doesn’t have all day, he knows, Monty will insist on getting back to work sooner or later. And he intends to do a lot more than just tease.
So he pulls back, nipping sharply at that full bottom lip, tongue laving over it to soothe away the sting. “That desperate to get fucked, birdie?” The words are affectionately taunting, and Monty’s face flushes again. He nods, though, always the eager little thing. Thomas smirks, licks a hot line down his throat. He sucks a fresh mark there, just below the curve of Monty’s jaw, before he finally pulls back, giving the crow a teasing little push.
“Strip and bend over the couch for me, sweetheart. Want you to spread yourself open for me, and tell me how much you need this.” He palms his own cock through the skintight jeans he’s wearing, watches the other’s eyes follow his hand, a fresh rush of heat radiating off him.
He’s scrambling out of his clothes in record time, not quite graceful about it in his haste. He doesn’t play the brat or snap back; sometimes he can be so wonderfully good, doing just what Thomas says. The feline likes both sides, likes the challenge he poses and likes it when he’s so needy that he’s quick to obey.
He watches that gorgeous, lean body move, arousal even more obvious now, his cock hard and leaking. Thomas flashes a feral grin as Monty positions himself over the arm of the leather couch, reaches back to spread his ass cheeks as Thomas had requested. He prowls around behind the crow, drinking in the sight of him.
“Need… need you,” the other finally manages to get out, voice faintly tinged with embarrassment. Monty can be rather talkative, but at times like this, he has to work himself up to it. “Want you to fuck me, hard, leave marks on me so I can feel them for days. Make me yours, show me I’m yours.” He presses his face against the couch cushion, the next words coming out shy and slightly muffled. “I… I want what you said, want you to fill me up, keep me that way…” He squirms, apparently embarrassed by his own desires.
Thomas has no such qualms. He bites back a groan, the possessive instincts in him firing on full-force. His clothes vanish in a wash of magic, and he plasters himself against Monty’s back, biting down hard enough to leave a faint imprint of his teeth at the nape of his neck. The crow moans under him, pushes back against him.
“You are mine, little bird,” he purrs into his ear, nipping at the cartilage as he rubs himself up against the other, cock sliding between his cheeks, that little bit of friction alone driving Thomas crazy. “I’m happy to make sure everyone else knows it, too.”
He has to pull back before he does something unwise, if only far enough that he can slip a hand between their bodies, slick fingers pressing inside of the crow, stretching him open with ruthless efficiency. Monty likes a hint of a sharp edge - most of his partners do, something for which Thomas is eternally grateful. Gentleness certainly has its place between them, moments when they can be soft and tender, but this isn’t one of them. These moments, these games, tend to be a lot of things, but certainly not gentle.
The crow lets out a breathless little whine as Thomas draws his hand away, but the feline isn’t planning to make him wait - not this time. He’s burying his cock in the other almost before he can draw a full breath, groaning at the pure pleasure of that tight heat engulfing him. “So perfect, you were made for this,” he growls against the soft curve of the other’s shoulder, biting another mark into that fair skin. Monty moans for him, pushes his hips back with pure eager need, and Thomas doesn’t bother holding back. By now, he knows very well what his crow can take.
So he drives into him, a hard, swift rhythm that’s designed very much for his own pleasure - not that it’s stopping Monty from very clearly enjoying it, groaning and whimpering by turns. “Yeah, fuck, use me,” he manages to get out between those needy sounds, and Thomas can’t help but grin, an expression that’s pure smug pleasure. He loves hearing those words falling from the other’s lips, but he wants to reduce him to nothing but desperate noises of pleasure, wants to utterly melt his mind until there’s nothing else but him.
“Oh, I’m planning to,” he purrs, lips skimming back up the other’s neck, over the shell of his ear. “Gonna fill you up, little bird. Can’t wait to see you, smell you filled with my come.” He nips hard at the other’s ear, hears his breath stutter, a little squeak of sound that’s almost pain. “Then I’m going to summon you a nice, fat plug for this tight little ass, keep you full until you come home to me and I can fuck another load into you.” Monty’s hips jerk back impulsively against him, and Thomas just lets his own thrusts grow harder, faster. He savors the moans escaping the other before he speaks again, low and teasing. “Maybe I should just keep you like that all the time, always ready to be fucked. You’d love it, wouldn’t you?”
Monty is definitely beyond words now, but the way his body clenches around Thomas, the way he gasps and buries his flushed face against the couch cushions, it’s telling. It’s heady, knowing he can reduce the other to such a state with relative ease. He wouldn’t have it any other way.
“I want your pleasure too, gorgeous, want you to come on my cock.” These words are softer, coupled with a gentler brush of lips over Monty’s throat, a hint of sweetness even in the midst of all the teasing. “Come for me.” It may be gentle, but it’s still a demand, and his beautiful crow can’t seem to help but comply.
He spills over the leather of the couch, letting out a wordless sound that Thomas memorizes even as he buries himself deep. Face pressed against Monty’s neck, he rides out the other’s orgasm and lets himself go, coming inside him as he promised. It’s as perfect as he anticipated, as perfect as it always is.
A low sigh escapes him as he comes down, draping thoughtless kisses over the crow’s shoulders and neck. Thomas would be content not to move for a while - so of course, it’s Monty who finally shifts with a discontented little grumble. “You had to bother me while I was doing inventory?” He sounds a little petulant, but there’s still too much of a soft, blissed out edge around the words for him to seem truly pissed off.
The Cat King laughs. “I get bored when you’re doing inventory. And you were getting stressed, and needed to relax. See, I’m helping.”
Monty rolls his eyes, but there’s a hint of a smile tugging at his lips when he glances over his shoulder at the other. “Well can you help clean up this mess? I do still have work to do, you know.” He sounds much less invested in it now, but Thomas would never actually interfere with the other doing his job. Just… distract him from time to time.
And he’s not quite done with that. He flashes a grin that’s all teeth. “First things first.” He waves a hand, flames and magic coalescing until he has something in his grasp. Monty stares for a moment - then flushes to the roots of his hair as he realizes Thomas is in fact holding a butt plug, an elegant glass piece on swirls of violet and black.
The Cat King can’t help but laugh at his expression. His crow has learned so much about him, but he still doesn’t realize that Thomas is never just talk. He has an endless arsenal of words, and the ability to make just about any desire spoken of real.
Maybe one day, Monty will fully understand that the talk is just foreplay, a tease of the real thing yet to come.

Wake Up Call - Nintendo Alarmo
All through Summer 2024 the Nintendo fandom had been in a fervor. The Nintendo Switch’s reign had eclipsed its seven year apex: the time had come for a new flagship piece of hardware to take its place. The stage seemed to be set: the game releases were thinning, the Nintendo Directs sparse, and the major game releases clearly smaller, outsourced, and not the main focus of development. Nintendo had already acknowledged the new machine’s existence with an assurance of it being announced within the fiscal year, followed by a continuous promise below each and every announcement stream that there “will be no mention of the Nintendo Switch successor during [...] these presentations.”
As the dog days passed by, during the fleeting few weeks of Fall that still existed between the ever widening record-high Summers and devastating Winter storms, it seemed undeniable that the stage was being set. Nintendo filed new patents for motion sensor technology. Word got out that they were filming a commercial for a new piece of hardware. They flew out content creators to demo something kept under wraps. And on October 9th, 2024, fans awoke to a flurry of notifications, an early morning unheralded announcement shaking the very foundations of what was thought possible for the gaming giant:
Alarmo.
Nintendo’s smart alarm clock. A touchscreen device with a sleek interface, loaded with 35 themes inspired by 5 games (and more to come), and a $100 price tag. Their patented motion sensing technology made for a hands-free experience. Set the alarm once and from then on, each and every morning, your eyes would flutter open to a jazzy Mario tune, and your triumphant rise from bed would be rewarded with a victory jingle, a “Lets-A-Go!”, and a shot of nostalgic dopamine.
But is nostalgic the right word? The motion sensor only works with a very specific set-up: most notably being limited to one person, a small bed, and a room that will remain otherwise empty through the night. No spouses, no pets, no roommates. It was clear this was intended for a child’s room. So no, it wasn’t nostalgic. At least not yet. It was designed to create new nostalgia.
Nintendo Alarmo, along with the similarly aimed Pokemon Sleep, are part of Nintendo’s long-running obsession with intentionally forming habits and responses. From the scheduled broadcasts of the Satellaview to the daily-task centric Animal Crossing series, and especially the predatory practices of their mobile game releases, Nintendo had a penchant for designing parasites that attached themselves to your waking (and non-waking) cycle.
Today I’ll be sharing excerpts from interviews with people who received Alarmos as children, and uncover the shocking effects of waking each morning to a pavlovian coin-get jingle. But first, speaking of coin-getting, a word from today’s sponsor: LoanFast. Is payday just a—
God what a waste of time. Shit’s always so negative these days. These nostalgia-grab video essays used to be pleasant. Here’s an old-school animated movie you haven’t seen since the DVD bargain bin! Top ten cartoons of the 2010s! The misunderstood genius of the Wii U! But nah, now time has crept past the optimistic millennials. We’re struggling to find the diamonds in the rough patch that was the 2020s, to salvage anything from that fucking trash heap of a decade. God, no wait. Now I sound like them. I grew up with that age of media. I love that age of media. It’s just so easy to let the zeitgeist of doomerism– Okay stop. It’s way too easy to let these things override my brain. I had to mentally backspace the phrase “easily impressionable” right there too. I watch these videos with their big words and their gloomy ways of lookin at life and I feel it all start to seep into me.
Millennials will convince you that the 00s were the peak of human creation. That the 10s were the last big push of creativity. But that's just not true! My cartoons were way better! Our video games are just objectively cooler and bigger! Adults get stuck on trying to make fun of my generation for the same few bullshit things, if I hear one more Skibidi Rizz I’m gonna– Shouldn’t think like that. I’m 24 now. That’s an adult. I’m an adult. I keep saying that and it doesn’t sound any more true. It happened so fast. It took so much time but it happened so fast. I was just a kid, playing Super Mario Odyssey on an old LCD, and then I was a teenager and a lot happened, so much happened, and now I’m an adult playing Super Mario Odyssey on an old LCD and nothing happens, nothing ever happens. I am an adult and it is Christmas Eve and I am alone.
It was Christmas Eve then too. Back when Christmas felt like Christmas. I was 12 years old when I got the Nintendo Alarmo. December 24th, 2024 when I tore open my first present of the year. It was tradition to get one present the night before, usually something to pass the time until I was more tired than I was excited for the next morning. You wouldn’t think a clock would keep me busy but I spent the whole evening fiddling with the options, looking at every theme, resetting the time to hear the top-of-the-hour jingles for each game. I remember dad helping me put in the wi-fi password, I remember mom’s hurried trip to whatever convenience store was still open on the holiday because the damned thing didn’t come with an AC adapter. She brought back a package of Reese’s and one of those juice drinks with a plastic toy on it. It was… a Spongebob one? Yeah, and I set it on the shelf and it fell off during all the unwrapping the next day and it rolled underneath the shelf and it was down there for months and I’m remembering every single time I was sitting on the floor playing Mario and Luigi Brothership after getting it the next day and every single time I could see the Spongebob juice topper below the tv smiling at me and I never thought to get it I never put any thought into it being there it was just there until a day my mom must have swept and it wasn’t there and I didn’t think about it not being there. Until right now.
Why didn’t that thing come with an AC adapter, god that’s so stupid.
I think about all that and I don’t think about everything that happened afterwards. I’m 12 years old and it’s Christmas Eve 2024 and I’m getting the Nintendo Alarmo and now I’m 24 years old and it’s Christmas Eve 2036 and I look over at the window sill next to my bed and the Nintendo Alarmo is still there, still ticking. The AC adapter has been replaced a couple times and it’s a bit dinged up but it’s still ticking. So much happened all the while that clock kept ticking. I’m still ticking. I’ve gotten so worked up over this fucking video and I’ve been scrolling my home page this whole time. I try to actually read the titles my eyes are glossing over: “The Untold Story of Minecraft’s 1.50 Disaster”, “What Went Wrong With Forza 2030”, “Does Sony Regret Dropping Out of Consoles?” and I almost click the last one to see which retired executive guy they’re interviewing and personifying the whole company onto this time and I stop myself. It just takes one god damn clickbait title to manufacture curiosity like that and I’ll be watching another two hour video about job layoffs and feeling like shit again. I’m so sick of feeling like shit. It’s getting harder and harder to find content that makes me feel good.
I decide to just turn the damn thing off. I sit there in the dark for a minute, as a dim light comes from across the room: it's 11:00pm and my Nintendo Alarmo is displaying a top-of-the-hour animation. Mario runs into view, bumps a block 11 times. I hear the little coin-collection jingle 11 times, and then the screen defaults back to its calmer darker state.
I google for a day calculator on my phone and punch in that Christmas Eve and this one.
4,383 days. If you take into the fact that after the Animal Crossing theme releases I swapped to that for Halloween and Christmas mornings, that’s 22 Animal Crossing mornings, and 4,360 Super Mario mornings, and 1 Mario Kart morning that I hated. Who the fuck wants to wake up to tires screeching? And the “FIRST PLACE VICTORY!” out-of-bed message was a bit patronizing even for me. But yeah, 4,360 Super Mario wake up calls. 4,360 times I have heard the Super Mario Bros. theme song as the very first sound of the day. Through thick and thin, from one side of the country to the other, through every school morning from 2024 onward and every single day of every job I’ve worked, it's remained constant. A morning without that jingle is just not conceivable to me, it's as natural a part of life as anything else. As sure as I’ll eat food and as sure as I’ll take a crap and as sure as I’ll turn my computer on and as sure as I’ll sleep again the next night is as sure as I will hear that jingle. Speaking of, sleep.
I brush my teeth with Scooby Doo bubblegum toothpaste and a toothbrush that I avoid looking too closely at because its got Spongebob on it and I’m too tired to let myself start back down that path of thinking about the things I took for granted. I can feel on my teeth that the brush is awfully frayed. I’ve been putting off buying a new one for months. I don’t know why. I could just grab one at the store and swap it out and it would make me feel so much better and be so much better for me, but I just don’t do it, I just never think to get it while I’m there and that just happens everyday and I blink and it's been months and my toothbrush is still frayed. 4,360 times. 4,360 times.
I catch my brain multi-track drifting and decide I can’t sleep without a distraction. I open Youtube on my phone and start scrolling for something to play while I sleep. I crawl into bed and I just barely remember it's Christmas tomorrow. I grab the Nintendo Alarmo and thumb through the settings, swiping through menus.
When I wake up tomorrow I’ll think that maybe I was just too tired, maybe I just got other shit on my mind, and that maybe these old LCD touchscreens are just over-sensitive pieces of shit or that maybe just maybe I am. But tomorrow my eyes will open at the time they’re used to opening anyway and I’ll be ready to hear the special Animal Crossing Toy Day Jingle that I was so certain I set it to, and I’ll hear the horrible screeching of tires on pavement and something will snap in me and I’ll hear the “FIRST PLACE VICTORY” and think about the empty platitudes and the 12 years I can barely remember and the four thousand wake-up calls that accompanied me as I kept sleep-walking through them and I’ll wake up and something will shatter and I’ll spend Christmas morning cleaning up the shards.

A large collection of small rants about games/series/franchises that have changed my life
Why so serious. So anyway howdy my freaky fellows, today I'm gonna be doing 4-5 sentence (Probably more. Do I even know myself?) rants about games/series/franchises that have changed my life. You know this. You read the title. Obviously. Unless you didn't. Then you're stupid. Stupid dummy dum-dum.
Kidding, love you all thank you for all the support it genuinely means the world to me and oh god I'm rambling just stop talking
[CLEARS THROAT AGGRESSIVELY]
So we're gonna start with a game that I stumbled upon accidentally and has made a huge mark on my life and honestly my personality as well.
DIALTOWN:
WOWZERS, THIS GAME WAS INCREDIBLE. I didn't even MEAN to find it, I was looking for DDLC and I searched 'dating sim' on steam and it popped up. I thought "fuck it, I'm buyin' it" and now here I am. I spent half of my summer staying up until morning just trying to get all of the endings and achievements, and holy shit was it worth it. That game made me laugh and sob and scream into my pillow all in the span of 5 minutes. Chapter three was incredible, the emotions you can convey without even seeing facial expressions is honestly so awesome to me. Norm is a HUGE comfort character for me. (I GOT HIM IN THE SOULMATE QUIZ‼️) I'm so excited for the DLC to come out, and hopefully I'll get the Mingus plushie and any more that get re-released or any new ones!
Next is another game (or game trilogy, I suppose) that I didn't really mean to come by. Luckily I have a stupid brother that introduces me to things I never thought I'd enjoy.
DAYSHIFT AT FREDDY'S:
Wow, would you look at that, another game series by the hound himself! Now, I didn't have a computer until about half a year ago. Got one for my birthday. I found out about this game LONG before Dialtown. So it took me a while to actually play the game. But I had seen fanart, playthroughs, analysis...es? And a lot more. I was obsessed with davesport for months before I even got to play the game. But when I finally did play it, I was SO excited, and for good reason. This game got me into FNaF fangames, and introduced me to my weird thing for phone men. The third game made me sob my eyes out the first time I played it through the good ending. Yet another example of a game that had me giggling one moment and bawling the next. WHY DO YOU WISH FOR ME TO SUFFER, DOGGO??/silly (ily man. keep doin the do.)
Up next is THE original.
FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S:
Wow. Now THIS is a game that left a mark on me. Got me into indie horror. I first played the game with my brother when I was like 6 I think?? It scared the piss outta me then, but over the years I learned to love it. I damn sure made a lot of cringe fanart when I was like 10..... But hey, it was fun. I kinda miss those times, even if I was seen as extremely weird for it. Thanks for years of fun, Scott. Couldn't have made it through life in my household without you.
Up next is my ALL TIME FAVORITE SIDE-SCROLLER.
CUPHEAD:
I love this game SO much. I first watched my dad play it on his computer, and he let me make my own save file! I wasn't very good for a long time, and I'll be honest, I'm still not exactly a professional. But it's fun, and practice makes perfect, right? I always chose Mugman, while my brother chose Cuphead. We would pretend we were the characters, and it was one of the only times I ever used to bond with him. Thanks for bringing me and my goober brother closer together, Cuphead.
MINECRAFT:
This game at least deserves a sentence or two. It's still one of my favorite games to play when I need to relax. I love making worlds with my siblings and building silly stuff with them.
ANIMAL CROSSING:
I spent weeks on this game. Probably even months. Maybe even a year or two. I don't play it as much anymore, but I still like to visit my island and see how my little villagers are doin every once in a while. Still pissed that I could never find Raymond, though. I tried so many times to find that silly little cat. I still do every so often. I'll get you eventually, Raymond. Mark my words.....
Moving on from games now. Let's talk about TELEVISION!
GRAVITY FALLS:
Wow. Just wow. What is there to even say? I love this show so very much. It makes me cry every time without fail. The fandom has its bad sides, but overall I love being apart of it. The Stan twins are my beloved babies and I will never let them go.
RISE OF THE TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES:
Now THIS is a show that left a HUGE mark on me. Hell, I even changed my name to Donnie for almost a year... I don't like to think about this phase. But this show is amazing, it was the reason I'm friends with a lot of my friends to this day. It deserves to get a re-run, even more seasons. Top tier show, would recommend.
EDDSWORLD:
This show HEAVILY influenced my artstyle and a lot of my general humor. I've been obsessed with it off and on for a few years now, and it's a great show. It's silly and fun, and it's ALSO a reason I'm friends with a few of my best friends.
That's it for now, folks!! Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
I might do another one of these, depends on how I feel about it. Hope you enjoyed my yaptastic yapping session.
Have a great morning, afternoon, evening or night!!! Love you all!!!!!

AAIC Nintendo Dream Magazine Cover
This is the 60th post in the Ace Attorney Investigations Collection Countdown: 21 days left until release!
Today's topic: the Investigations Collection themed Nintendo Dream magazine cover!
The Japanese Nintendo magazine Nintendo Dream (unsurprisingly) covers the Investigations Collection in their September and October issues - including an entire exclusive cover drawn for the latter. As you can see above (and below) it looks incredible! The cover version sadly hides Gumshoe behind a bunch of writing (poor guy) but luckily the magazine comes with a poster version of the artwork as well so that you can enjoy it in all its glory.
Look at it! Isn't it gorgeous?! I love it! I honestly want this magazine just for this poster alone. Let's talk about how amazing it is in detail.
First of all, they picked the characters included in the art well. With AA's large casts promotional artworks like this can often feel too crowded and overstuffed and the two Investigations games have a sizeable main cast all on their own so it can be difficult to decide who to include and who not to. In this art they really brought it down to the few most central characters: the protagonist Miles, his two sidekicks Gumshoe and Kay and the two main rivals of the two games Shi-Long and Justine (Verity). Perfect choice! I might miss some other characters I love (like Sebastian (Eustace) or Franziska) but I honestly think it's better for it, this way the characters can really shine.
The view is from slightly above so that the characters look a little upwards towards the "camera" which not only looks nice but works well to put a little more focus on what they're standing on: a chessboard, or a chessboard-like patterned floor at least. Of course, we're not gonna stop with the chess theming now 😄 I do think it's a great choice though, especially because it's not black and white like your usual chessboard but (burgundy) red and white, following Miles' colour scheme. Very nice thematic background!
On to the characters, we start, of course, with Miles Edgeworth himself front and centre. He has a very confident smile on his face, you could almost say he looks a little cheeky, and he wears it well! Logic genius extraordinaire, no crime goes unsolved, no criminal uncaught when Miles is on the case - and he knows it, too! His pose also expresses that confidence, with his crossed arms, angled slightly to the side and that one pointer finger raised like he doesn't even have to try to destroy your argument. It's somewhat reminiscient of his thinking animation, only combined with his confident smirk in a way that is very Miles-specific. Very badass, I love it!
Behind Miles, essentially framing him on either side, are our two main rivals, Justine on the right and Shi-Long on the left, both angled towards the centre. Justine looks comparatively serious and neutral. One of her arms is outstretched towards the viewer, hand open, while the other is placed on her chest. It gives her a very gracious vibe, as if she was offering you mercy hoping you would realize your errors and return to the righteous path. Perfectly fitting to her attitude in the game, extremely sure of her own correctness, serious but not brutal as long as you agree with her "correct" view. And elegant above all else!
Shi-Long is the complete contrast to that, rough instead of elegant but just as confident. His arm is also outstretched towards the front but instead of an open palm he has a closed fist with the pointer finger raised in a very commanding and attention demanding way. He stands with his legs apart, as he usually does, and just emanates charisma, also as he usually does. His expression is a wild wolfish grin, showing slightly sharper teeth, that makes him look at least as sure of himself as Miles is and very ready and eager to rise to any challenge that might be thrown at him including any pesky prosecutors that might get in his way. He does what he does how he sees fit and won't let anyone tell him different and makes sure to show you exactly that. You can also really admire his fluffy hair tips from this angle!
Directly behind the two main rivals is Kay with a wide happy grin on her face that perfectly fits her energized personality. She comes across like she's actively posing for something, trying to look cool or badass and having too much fun to really stay serious. Her arms form a cross in front of her chest, one hand showing the peace sign, the other with a raised pointer finger similar to Miles. That's definitely the kind of cool pose Kay would think of making for a group shot! Have I mentioned I love her yet?
Last but not least, we have Gumshoe standing slightly behind Kay but facing the wrong way and just now seeming to notice it. His neck is stretched out so that he looks awkwardly behind himself with a facial expression that says "Oops!", seeing the others and realizing that he screwed up. His arms are raised in front of him in a similar pose to Kay, one hand showing the peace sign and the other showing something inbetween that and a raised pointer finger as if he was trying to do the same pose but not really sure what it was again. Poor Gumshoe, he screwed up the badass group shot. Completely in-character for him though, hilarious and so cute 😊 I especially love that Kay made him do her cool pose with her and how the artwork shows off their adorable dynamic this way, it's so well done!
This is not the only amazing art you can get as a poster though, the September issue comes with a poster version of the Investigations Collection key art! I already analysed that one in an early countdown post so I won't do it here but it's another brilliant piece and I'd love to have that poster as well. All the new artwork for this collection is so beautiful!

Can I make a confession?
I hate thinking about my future.
(I promise this is related to video games.)
It could just be something in my brain.
It could be that, the way school has always led to more school, I'd always felt like my life was being decided for me.
It could be that, as a suicidal trans kid living on a dying rock, I never felt like I had a future.
But I had never in my life considered I would get this far, and at this point I have to grapple with the fact that I'm only getting older.
I need to move out eventually. I need to make a living. And I need to keep myself alive and healthy.
But something in me just hates thinking about that.
Of course, I notice this in the games I play too. I love tactics games like Fire Emblem, but the superficially similar Advance Wars could never grip me. While Fire Emblem gives me all of my chess pieces and makes me use them accordingly, Advance Wars makes me think several turns ahead and choose which units to create. Advance Wars is a much more long-term game, and I can't help but hate that.
I've been thinking for years about the prospect of using games to teach me what I don't know. Surely, if a game can finally make me understand long-term thinking, then I will be fixed. And I hate that framing, "fixed." These issues are very likely caused by ADHD, and the brain is just more complicated than any platitude can solve. But I also know that I do have to start thinking long-term, or I will suffer.
I've always hated brushing my teeth. When I was a kid, I would pretend to brush them to make my mom happy, but I just don't like having to put some stick of goo in my mouth, and even now that I do it regularly it doesn't feel good. I thought things would be okay forever, until I started having dental problems. Any individual day where I don't brush my teeth honestly doesn't make that big of a difference. But these choices in aggregate across years can have disastrous effects.
I started thinking about this as I replayed FTL recently. FTL: Faster Than Light is the first game released by Subset Games. Their second game, Into the Breach, is one of my favorite video games of all time. But crucially, everything I like about Into the Breach was an explicit response to something I didn't like about FTL. FTL has too much randomness, so ITB removes a bunch of randomness. FTL has too much hidden information, so ITB shows you exactly what enemies are going to do next. And in a game of Into the Breach, everything you need to think about is right in front of you. In FTL, you have to think ahead.
There's a few design choices in FTL I chafe against. Upgrading your ship is pretty expensive, and I never know how much it's worth saving up until it's too late. Your ship taking damage is unavoidable, and that damage sticks around between battles. Nearly every action costs some kind of resource that I don't know if I'll get back. It's a game that demands you think about it on a large scale, and after years of trying and failing, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get good at this game.
Do I just not have the brain for it?
But you know, it's not just lack of understanding that makes me put the short-term first. I've gotten into feuds with my parents about dieting before, as their legitimate concerns about health combined with unchecked fatphobia to leave me feeling like they just wanted control over my body. And while I recognize it's immature, these days I'll often eat something unhealthy on purpose out of spite. Making myself some dumplings, using all the salt and butter I could ever want, feels good, and tastes good too. But it was only today when, at a checkup about hormones, I agreed to weigh myself, and didn't like what I saw.
There are some games that provide delayed gratification. Games like Animal Crossing and Pokemon that use real-world time for game mechanics. In Animal Crossing, it's not enough to simply grow a tree, you have to plant it, and then water it for days. In Pokemon Shining Pearl, you have to wait until Friday to catch a Drifloon. These games treat the passage of time as a game mechanic in itself.
...Or at least, they do in theory. In practice, these games are awash with time travelers, changing the system clock to skip the wait.
I wish I had the answers, but I don't. I don't know how to teach myself this vital skill, and I'm searching still for a game that can help with that. Maybe I'll be the one to make it.
But I guess what I do want to say is that, if you also hate thinking about the future, whether that's in games or in life...
I understand.

My idea for a potential DEATH BATTLE! #8
2023 Dec 12, 26, 27, 30, 31
2024, Jan 1, 2, 19, Feb 8, Mar 14, 24
MASTER POST
Thumbnail art
P3 Hero vs Neku Sakuraba (Persona vs TWEWY)
The Reaper will claim someone's soul permanently today!
FIGHTER 1: The P3 Hero, the Wildcard Messiah that ended the Dark Hour.
FIGHTER 2: Keku Sakuraba, the Shibuya Saviour in the Reaper's Game.
Wiz: Memento mori; remember that you will die. Time never waits and it delivers all equally to the same end, be it by aging or a bullet.
*insert clips of playing chess with Death from The Seventh Seal, Grim from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Maddie, Death from Castlevania*
Boomstick: So, take off your headphones and remember to make bonds and connections as they make life worth living. The world ends with you, so it's up to you to expand it. He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick.
Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win... a Death Battle.
PREFACE (What to know): So, Season 10 just ended and its final episode gave a teaser for Season 11 showing the Fool, Death, and The World tarot cards. Many suspect that this hints towards a Persona MU, which could be this one as the P3 Hero is represented by the Fool, Death, Judgement, and Universe Arcanas (The Universe is the Thoth Tarot equivalent of The World), and even though I started another suggestion as of me writing this, I wanted to this suggest this one as soon as I could. I get that it is not yet confirmed or denied. However, I want to get it out on the slight chance that it is the planned episode.
As of Pi Day 2024, Persona 3 Reload has been released, DLC has been announced, and Persona 6 is rumored to be released in 2025.
Also, I am not giving the P3 Hero a specific name. The SMT Wiki, Persona 3 Movies and P3 Dancing call him Makoto Yuki, but I don't like that name because it means that there'll be two Makotos if we involve P5 and three if we involve P2. I get that their names are spelled with different kanji to denote different meanings, but other sources from ATLUS call him by different names: the PQ2 Artbook calls him P3 Hero and the P3 Manga calls him Minato Arisato. For brevity and ease, I'll be referring to the character of today as P3H.
ANALYSIS OF ARSENAL (What I will be giving them):
Consider this to be part of the preface as this will cover something that you should know. To have them at their absolute best, I will take P3H at his endgame and Neku with his powers and experiences from NEO.
For the sake of the argument and animation, both will fight on their own, so no navigators, All-Out Attacks, Light Puck, Cross Combos, Fusion attacks, Mashups, or Killer Remixes. Any thread that Neku wears will have the effects of Final Remix or NEO. I will also use the affinity system from P3 Reload instead of the one from P5R, which although expansive, P3's battle affinities make more sense to use since we're talking about the P3 protagonist.
Both have vast arsenals that the player can choose from. P3H can have a bunch of items that can restore his health and SP, the Ultimate Personas and skills or Fusion Spells/Theurgies like Primal Force, Armageddon, Infinity, High Counter, Arms Master, Spell Master, Regenerate 3, Invigorate 3, the ultimate weapons and items like Lucifer's Blade and the Omnipotent Orb, or he can have none of that. PQ and PQ2 are canon, so do I include the status circle moves, Link attacks, or the game-breaking Heroic Gemini? Neku can have game-breaking threads, Psychs, and Pin Sets like Dope Line+SOS Boosting threads + Wild Boar Resonance which can one-shot a lot of bosses, the Eden Set which grants total invulnerability, the Darklit Planets Set, the Yearlong Ensemble, and the Black Cat set, all of which are supremely powerful, or he can Week 1 pins and clothes. How the heck will I go over their arsenal and skills?
The best way to go about this is to max out their stats and analyze this fight twice. The first battle will be analyzed using a traditional playthrough setup, and the second will be using the absolute best equipment and tools they can reasonably access (no PQ stuff).
WHY:
Connections (What do they have in common):
1. They are known for being or at least appearing antisocial or asocial but learn to make genuine connections and friendships. Said friendships give them power. Examples for P3H include: 1. Social links unlocking the Ultimate Personas of an arcana, 2. Social Links boost the EXP gained when fusing Personas of their arcana. Examples for Neku include: 1. Shopkeeps and cashiers can give you details of some clothing threads and/or give you access to more powerful clothing, 2. Fusion attacks can be performed, 3. A Player who fails to make a Pact will be erased if they don't have a partner within a certain given amount of time, and a player who has made a Pact is erased seven minutes after their Partner is erased. Said friendships helped them overcome the final bosses of their game which only served to reinforce the themes of friendships and connections. This is further emphasized by the fact that the mobs of their games, Shadows and Noise, are manifested from and/or attracted to negative thoughts. Said enemies also include a "Reaper": P3 has a boss Shadow known as The Reaper, and TWEWY's Noise creatures are created by other Players of the Game called Reapers.
2. Both have an intimate history with death. During the majority of P3, P3H had Death sealed within him. At the end of his journey, he sacrifices himself to become the Great Seal. He is also orphaned due to the death of his parents, and in the P3 Movies, Makoto witnessed their deaths. Neku is traumatized by the death of his best friend (even though this is from the events of the Another Day timeline). He has also died at least twice; he was shot dead by Joshua, came back to life, and was shot again by Coco.
3. Both wear headphones and even use a similar MP3 player. P3H uses one from Sony's NW-S20x series and Neku's seems to be based on Sony's NW-S200. Their music players are used to symbolize their lack of social skills or meaningful connections at the beginning of their journeys.
4. As minor as it is, both are a sort of "Chosen One" or hold unique positions in their power systems. P3H is a Wildcard, so he can wield multiple Personas, which only those who have formed a contract can do. Neku is the Proxy of the most powerful being in Shibuya and his high Imagination allowed him to use a lot of psychs during the initial Reaper's Game.
Personal reasons (Why I want this battle/like this MU):
I consider this MU superior to Joker vs. Neku. Aesthetically, P5's style meshed better with TWEWY's graffiti and urban aesthetic, and there is also the Shibuya connection with similar themes of reaching out, forming connections, and defying the game you're in, but then P3 Reload was released. There are also the connections mentioned above. I also think this MU is more appropriate thematically due to the themes of death and broadening one's world.
THE FIGHT:
Art and animation:
It'll be in 3D unless someone can get their hands on P3H sprites. The models do exist for both characters: P3H has models from all his games and Neku has models from KH DDD and NEO. However, the following pieces of art by u/Crossover and u/Ok_Administration_45 respectively show that the sprites do exist.
To get the most out of P3H's Wildcard ability, I will give him some of his roster from the P5R Full Moon Challenge Battle and some extras.
1. Orpheus
2. Thanatos
3. Messiah.
4. Orpheus Telos to represent his max strength
5. Helel for Armageddon.
6. Satan for Armageddon.
7. Vishnu for Infinity.
8. Ananta for Infinity.
9. Sigfried for Scarlet Havoc
10. Mithras for Scarlet Havoc
Neku will use a mix of psychs that are iconic like Shockwave, Massive Hit, Force Rounds, Pyrokinesis, and Cure Drink as well as pins related to him specifically (in NEO, Topo the Talented, Black Hole Bunny, and Hotaru can only be obtained if Neku is the one who maxes out their pre-evolved forms)
Possible setup:
We open by looking at the sky. black as pitch, and the full moon's pale light beautifully shines down. However, this does not mean peace, especially not for the leader of SEES or the Composer's former proxy. We cut to the top of the 104, our teenage heroes have already engaged in a fight, and not just with each other. P3H is fighting animals with tattoos for limbs and Neku is fighting masked humanoids with shadowy skin. After cutting down the black armies, they face each other.
"Ready?" P3H gets into his battle position again.
"Yeah." Neku prepares himself with new pins.
FIGHT! :
1. Shockwave vs Sword. The two teenagers engage. Neku uses Shockwave, creating a blade, and clashes blades with P3H. P3H gets a good slash and stab in, knocking Neku back, but Neku charges in, landing in a horizontal slash, a vertical slash, and then uses Stellar Flurry, finishing his combo off with a Lance Lunge, knocking P3H back instead.
2. Neku then uses Pyrokinesis, engulfing P3H in flames. Yet, P3H is barely affected, taking slight damage. He grabs his Evoker and quickly points it to the side of his head. "Persona!" After pulling the trigger, Orpheus is summoned and he casts Blazing Hell, surrounding a large area in front of him in fire and heat.
3. Neku takes massive damage, and P3H rushes in to use Orpheus' physical power, but Neku quickly backs away and uses his Force Rounds. P3H dodges the energy bullets as he closes in on his foe and switches his Persona. "Thanatos!" The Death God comes out and slashes with lethality and precision, capping the combo off with a Brave Blade, slashing hard and wide, but Neku narrowly escapes yet again. Neku senses something odd about this guy... "Focus... Open up your senses..." His Soul is varied, and there are a lot of powers within, but they all have different affinities and weaknesses that he can exploit. He needs to be careful, and maybe he'll win. He switches to Hotaru and meets Thanatos' slashes with his own, hitting the Persona with its weakness to Light, dizzying P3H a bit. Neku charges up a Massive Hit psych. "Goin' up!", and P3H is sent flying this time.
4. P3H quickly picks himself up and feels the power of Theurgy. He grabs his evoker and summons the power of Sigfried and Mithras, the Scarlet Havoc. The scarlet razors and slashes are so fast that they blindside and overwhelm Neku. P3H sees his opponent is down. "Come forth, Messiah!" and he uses Debilitate on Neku, Heat Riser on himself. "Siegfried!" Using Concentrate, he then uses Vorpal Blade.
5. Neku uses a Healing psych but barely hangs on after the brutal slash attack, but he switches his pins again to a Doomed Life, Doomed Attack, Doomed Defense, and Doomed Mobility combo. P3H notices that his buffs are effectively nullified, and he even starts to feel weakened. Neku then uses an Entanglement psych, but P3H very-handedly dodges, until Debilitate and Heat Riser wear off. Neku then easily catches P3H, using his Black Hole Bunny, dealing strong damage.
6. Neku then charges Topo the Talented and fires the missiles, but P3H breaks free of his confines and switches personas again to "Orpheus Telos!", tanking the damage soundly.
7. Neku senses extreme power from the Soul, so switches his pins to Over the Top and a combination of Apport and Psychokinesis. All his pins in Reboot are quickly filling up again. He combines Psychokinesis with Apport to summon meteors and even f*cking subway trains and throws them all at P3H who sees the incoming attack, but he's low on health. He pulls his Evoker, summoning the power of Ananta and Vishnu, and casts Infinity, protecting himself from the powerful strike. By this point, he's almost out of SP, but he's far from dead. Neku sees this, so he uses a Healing Aura and Inspiring Aura psych combo to heal and buff himself up and switches Psychs once again, this time to a combo of Nexus Ray and Laser Inferno psychs.
8. With a Concentrate, P3H charges up his magic energy while Neku raises his arm, and charges the energy at the end of his hand. Messiah unleashes a charged Megidolaon and Neku fires his Ray/Laser amalgamation. We get a wide shot of Shibuya and the 104, and we see a giant flash of light. Both teens are still standing, but very close to dying, panting. Thank goodness for Endure.
9. P3H wins by sheer overwhelming force. Neku has exhausted most of his pins, and they're not rebooting fast enough, even with Over the Top. He switches pins again, but P3H summons Messiah again and casts Salvation. Neku tries to attack, but with a summon to "Orpheus Telos!" and he holds off Neku for enough time for the Theurgy gauge to charge. He uses an SP recovering item and uses debilitate again, and Neku is crippled yet again. P3H summons Helel and Satan, thinks of his dear friends, and casts Armageddon. Neku is unable to use any healing psychs in time. His last thoughts? Shiki, Beat, Josh, Rindo…
10. Ending 2: Neku wins by wearing down his opponent. Neku uses Grave Marker quickly to knock his opponent off balance, and he's able to launch attack after attack, keeping his adversary on the backfoot. P3H can't even switch his Persona, His Theurgy is ready, but as he tries to grab his Evoker, Neku binds him with Entanglement. Over the Top really came in handy. Neku, thinking of his friends, charges up a final attack like in the TWEWY fight against Draco Cantus. P3H sees oblivion, but he only thinks of his friends. He didn't tell Junpei, Yukari, Mitsuru, or even Aigis goodbye...
11. The winner takes the loser's headphones and music player (call them "World Expander's Music Set '' or "SEES Music Set"). If Neku wins, then he also picks up a pin that looks like the Gekkougan High emblem named "Full Moon", and all of these are top-tier gear. The winner does not get to simmer in his thoughts because he hears the sounds of swarming creatures behind him. He turns his sight to the amassing Noise and Shadows around him. "I'll live on for the both of us." They lunge at the black armies.
12. KO!
RESULT:
Strengths and weaknesses:
P3H:
+ Is more powerful as he fought Nyx, who could affect the population on a worldwide scale as opposed to Anguis Cantus, Draco Cantus, Dissonance Tapir, or even Phoenix Cantus, all of whom would at most affect just Shibuya. Even if he fought Nyx with a team, P3H is still more powerful. At most, it can be highballed to say that P3H is a planet buster since Nyx, once fully completed, could destroy the Earth, and P3H stopped this fully powered Nyx.
+ His magic is arguably stronger than Neku's psychs. This is especially true for skills like Ragnarok, Pralaya, Infinity, and Armageddon.
+ Sword allows for greater range in close combat.
+ Has resistances and immunities with Null, Void, and even recovery with Drain or can redirect attacks with Repel. Items like Omnipotent Orb or Tome of the Void can Null damage or status effects.
+ Has instant death/kill options such as Maeigaon, Door of Hades, and Mudoon.
+ Megidolaon and other Almighty skills bypass resistances. If treated like in mainline SMT, then all Pierce skills will also bypass resistances except for repelling.
+ If given access to all his passive abilities, then he can likely passively recover and outlast his opponent with skills like Invigorate and Regenerate, return damage with High Counter, reduce damage a lot with Firm Stance, increase hit rate with Apt Pupil, reduce the cost of his skills with Arms Master and Spell Master, double evasion rate against all magical attacks except Light, Dark, and Almighty with Angelic Grace, flat out nullify, repel or drain most of Neku’s psychs, amp his own attacks and odds of inflicting status conditions, survive certain death with Endure and Enduring Soul (these stack), and increase damage with his own weapon with Weapons Master.
+ Heat Riser and other Enhance skills increase his own Attack, Defense, and Agility/ Hit/Evasion rate or reduce the opponent's.
+ Dekunda removes inflicted debuffs, Dekaja removes the opponent's buffs.
+ Rebellion and Revolution increase Crit Rate.
+ Tetrakarn and Makarakarn put up barriers.
+ Charge and Concentrate can boost the damage of their next offensive skill.
+ Life Drain can recover a small amount of HP from a foe.
= Comparable speed as both have dodged light-based attacks,
- Theurgies take a long time to charge up.
- Abilities like Regenerate and Invigorate don't recover a lot of HP and SP.
- Buffs/debuffs, Tetrakarn, Makarakarn, Charge, and Concentrate are not permanent and wear off after a certain amount of time or upon using their next offensive skill.
- The high-class attacks and Recovery skills require large amounts of HP and SP respectively.
- Instant kill options have a low success rate.
Neku:
+ If given access to all his pins from the first game like Mega Man is given access to all his weapons, then Neku has the edge in versatility (sheer number of psychs and affinities) and invulnerability (Eden set), so he can overwhelm P3 and exploit his weaknesses.
+ Greater mobility and can even teleport (more so if he is given access to Flowmotion).
+ Edge in range due to ranged attacks.
+ Most pins work by cooldown and don't drain HP, so even if they're exhausted, they'll immediately begin to recharge. This includes the healing psychs of Aqua Barrier and Dark Barrier, and even NEO's Healing Aura as well as the buffing psych Inspiring Aura. This all pairs well with the Over the Top psych which reduces reboot time by 40%.
+ Turbo psych increases the amount of uses per pin, adding extra longevity to the pins.
+ Can cripple his opponent by inflicting negative status effects like Immobility or Airborne to immobilize, HP Drain to continuously reduce the target's HP by a percentage. The Doomed psyches also reduce the opponent’s Attack, Defense, and/or Mobility. These don’t count as mental ailments so Unshaken Will does not nullify them.
+ Debuffs on opponents last longer with the Blight psychs.
+ Psychs like Nexus Ray and affinities like Time and Gravity could count as Almighty skills and thus bypass resistances and passive skills. Other psyches like Stellar Flurry can count as Pierce skills (I already mentioned the significance of Pierce skills).
+ Is more experienced.
+ Threads increase his stats, nullify or reduce knockback. There are also threads that increase his stats more when in low health (Second Wind, Steely Resolve, etc.), increase the capacities of psychs with abilities like Reinforced Chains, Stranglehold, or Synergy, provide skills like Resistances to poison, shocks, or burns, Regen and Auto-Charge (allows the release of psychs that require charge up time).
≥ This is a big stretch, but Neku could find the weakness of the Personas. Neku can read minds with the Player Pin and is even able to scan Soul by the time the events of NEO happen, and Personas are seen as the manifestation of the soul.
= Similar speeds as they both have dodged light-based attacks.
- Most healing pins have a limited number of uses (Already mentioned which ones don't). Those that don’t have a limited number of uses cannot be used until fully recharged.
- Cannot bypass Infinity.
- Does not have abilities or equipment that can completely nullify, absorb, or redirect damage.
Ending puns:
"P3H shouldn't take it personally, but he faced his Mass Destruction."
"Neku may have been psyched up, but he was left Twisted."
MUSIC:
Name: The Reaper Hour
The name refers to the Dark Hour and the Reaper's Game. It is also a nod to the Reaper Shadow and the Reapers.
Art: Look at Yate's "My Dread Burns with You" and simply add their MP3 player to the art and you get the gist of the art. If you want an original answer: take the Reaper symbol, have it wear Neku's headphones, and have it use an Evoker. Around where the "neck" would be the Sony MP3 player. In the background is a giant Midnight Hour clock being broken like in P3.
Sound: TWEWY's rock + P3's hip hop. The opening sounds like Twister, but when the combatants engage, the music shifts to a mix of Mass Destruction and Hybrid (The sound of Hybrid + the instrumentation and lyrics like that of MD). When the battle reaches its climax, the music sounds like Burn My Dread like it's the P3 Final Boss, but it has elements and lyrics like those of Calling. Death is calling the protagonists, but only one will heed the calling.
FINAL THOUGHTS AND WORDS
Imagining the fight was pleasant, but the preface was a nightmare. Worse still, my increased workload meant I couldn't finish this when I wanted to, and I could rarely find the energy to work on this. Getting this out before the announcement of Season 11 did not make this any easier, not that I could actually do so. I apologize for the long time between posts and for any inconsistencies. Still, I had fun, and I wanted to pay respect to characters that I look up to. They taught me that even if making connections is hard, it is never impossible, and that not reaching out only makes life worse. Friends help us, and whether or not bonds are the answer to the question of life, they should help us grow. Some will harm us, some will leave, but is that a reason to cut yourself off from the others?
THANK YOU AND I HOPE YOU ENJOYED THIS!

Sadly, I can only barely account for one of these contenders since I did play The World Ends With You, though my time with it was very... forgettable. Not a lot for me to grab onto, to be honest. BUT that doesn't detract from this great idea of yours! Hopefully, we'll get another Death Battle in the near future.

I've been trying to avoid over-thinking my health issues, both mental and physical, by hiding behind cozy gaming.
Healthy coping mechanism? Probably not, but it's what I have. Besides, propping up my hands on a pillow with my Switch Lite or my phone is one of the few things I can actually do during an illness flare.
Enough of that.
For any fellow Dreamlight Valley players out there, these were some of the new updates announced on their showcase earlier today, if you happened to miss it.
Sally is arriving soon! I was really glad to see her. Now Jack won't have to be so lonely anymore.
(The first pic is pretty clearly Aladdin's hat and Jasmine's headpiece. The second pic I hope means we can invite Alice and the Cheshire Cat to the village. In the third, I'm pretty sure that's the feather from Peter Pan's cap in the sand.)
We have another paid expansion pass upcoming, the pricing explained on this article from Variety.
youtube
And for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp players, Nintendo released a video explaining the changes they plan to make.
youtube
Still not sure how I feel, really. I won't miss the grind for Leaf Tickets, but I will miss being able to play with online friends.
Just a bit of news for anyone interested to hear it.

To every moron who tries to dismiss rational critiques over media because "it's for kids"... you want to know what else is namely geared toward kids? Simple foods like chicken nuggets. If I found out that a restaurant had rat droppings in their chicken nuggets, I wouldn't tell an adult that they don't have a right to like them in the first place or a child that they deserve to eat rat droppings. "It's for kids," isn't an argument: It's you clinging at straws with a paper-thin defense by trying to ban someone from a thing they enjoy, possibly even with their own children or younger siblings. Furthermore...
There are series that have crossed multiple generations, especially in an age when more remakes, spin-offs, and reboots are promoted than original content. Nevermind series that have lasted literal decades and several reincarnations, you also have shows that can last for years in one single run. For example, if you were 12 when Adventure Time came out (2010), you were probably 20 when it ended (2018). If someone didn't like the finale, being an adult didn't negate their opinion. If anything, as a fan of the exact intended demographic when the show released, who spent almost their half their lifetime watching the show, they deserve to have an opinion more than anyone. A company that ignores fan loyalty is just cutting themselves off at the knees.
If a company didn't want the adult demographic as well, they wouldn't bank so hard on nostalgia. It shouldn't be rocket science that a child cannot feel nostalgia for something they weren't even alive to experience.
"It's for kids," is never an excuse for releasing a bad product. That's just demeaning children by assuming they will accept whatever slop you throw their way. Think they can't tell the difference? Let's take a good look at Hanna-Barbera, the studio that originally created Scooby Doo. Scooby Doo is an important part of animation history for the formulas it established that would later be reflected in other cartoons. One of these formulas was utilizing the Five Man Band trope, often with an animal mascot to round out a group of diverse characters. The company tried repeating Scooby Doo's success in a large collection of other shows such as Goober and the Ghost Chasers and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kids. We hardly hear about those shows today, however, because kids back then saw them for the rip-offs that they were and so they didn't gain anywhere near the same popularity. Again: Same company, same formulas, same demographic; different quality, different amounts of respect for the product, different results.
Adults are going to have to sit through your terrible media too. Kids rarely have money themselves: Adults are the ones bringing little Sally and Timmy into the theatre or buying them movies, toys, and games. Where one adult can tolerate hearing their daughter's Elsa doll sing "Let it Go," for the millionth time, plenty of others will opt to get their kid a much quieter toy for the sake of their own sanity. Adults are also the ones passing the torch of older media to the next generation. Not every show needs jokes or dated references only adults will understand, but you can never forget the family aspect of a piece of media that labels itself as family-friendly. If you upset or insult the adults, they sure as heck aren't letting their kids anywhere near your product.
Guess who has to make kids' media in the first place? Adults! I know! What a shock! If a piece of media is "just for kids," then maybe "just kids," should be making it--you know, if they didn't lack the experience or resources to do so. How does the 30 year-old in a writer's room somehow automatically know more about what the next generation needs or is experiencing than the 30 year-old parent trying to find good content for their children? This goes doubly so when you go against timeless stories that have lasted several generations.
If I am an adult and I like a family-friendly stories, general themes with good morals, and beautiful animations, things you label as being "just for kids," as opposed to crude jokes and pointless dramas, how is that even any of your business? If it bothers you that much, then it sounds like you're the one who needs to get a life.
#every time another reboot comes out this topic comes up#it's as old a point as it is an incredibly dumb one to make#rant#silya speaks

What other fandoms are you in? Any Anime or Games that you like?
Well, honestly, I have a distant relationship with Fandom. I tend to just carve out my little niches.
I think part of that I'm a BIG O COMICS FAN. And the is a rough fandom that I don't like interacting with because I don't think it's enough of talking about the *art* of comic making and more about how your fave is better than everyone else. Minus 10 points if your favorite is Batman and you think Batman could be everyone. With that, you may have noticed I'm a Big Jason Todd reader. And while I'm staying away from main line continuity right now, I just picked up Robin Lives #2.
But Also I need to pick up the second volume of My Favorite Thing is Monsters (Please please ask me about this comic it's so good)
Anime wise, I haven't kept up today. I watched first season of Demon slayer. But that's about as recent as I got. I do really love the classic though Sailor Moon (And a lot of magical girl stuff), Space Pirate Captain Harlock (mostly anything Leiji Matsumoto but Harlock was is a special interest of mine Like I hunted SSX and I own a DVD of the 97 series as well has having the ZIV dub) and Black Jack are the things I can think off the top of my head.
Games I've been playing a tone of Coral Island recently. By that, It shouldn't be a surprise, I've played a lot of (modded) Stardew and Animal Crossing. But If you to really get me going, any Supergiant Games Game. Particularly Hades and Pyre. Pyre is one of those games I can't recommend… Because it feels specifically made for me with 1) an amazing story and 2) 3 on 3 basketball. That bit's not a joke. That's actually gameplay. And I'm not playing Hades 2 yet because Supergaint's Stories are so good. I'm happy with just waiting for the full release.

🎉♥Happy 8th anniversary Undertale✨🎊
Today marks 8 years since this gem of the video games came to light and to celebrate I did something special with my au.You already know Madfri,Charness,Flowey and Kris but taking advantage of this I wanted to introduce Madness!Temmie (Tami) along the way to present her,by the way I want to share something that I had in me for a long time even before starting Madnesstale definitively.
⚠Warning:This is gonna be long and also talks about things i didn't share with anyone until now so i don't know i someone its gonna be offended. If you wanna give your opinion in the comments please do it with respect. With that say here we go.
I found Undertale in 2016 when I was 12 years old,at that time I wanted to dedicate myself to drawing but I was going through a difficult time and my depression was beginning to arise, giving me a large series of problems along with a lot of regrets that haunt me to this day. Thanks to the game, its community and its aus I began to feel better and I was able to get inspired again to do my projects and in this way help others or inspire them.
With all this,I also had the intention of making my own au and in that way contributing to the community, but the problem is that no matter what concept or name I gave it,they were all already taken. It wasn't until August 2020 that I decided to take it up again,I didn't have Internet at that time and I was bored wandering in my thoughts and looking at the gallery on my phone until I saw several images of series and video games and a fanart of Frisk in Wonderland that everything began to form and that was when everything was decided.
I started slowly since I had no experience drawing monsters,so I decided to go with the humans first and tried to make the plot of the history, what to do with each character,if include Deltarune, etc. Thanks to the fact that I took the end of 2021 and more than half of 2022 on sabbatical before going to college It helped me not only work on the au,but also on my other projects and I also looked for inspiration in youtubers, video games of all kinds, series, cartoons, anime and more to have more ideas,I even went back to watch the first season of Underverse and finally see the story of Xtale for it,both incredible projects of course...But when I saw the first episodes of the second season of Underverse everything took an unexpected turn for me.
At first I was excited,I hadn't started watching it until they released the first part of episode 0.7,everything was going well until I saw episode 0.6,to avoid spoilers for those who haven't seen it I'll say a little about what happens. From the events of the first season of the series,Cross arrives in the Omega Timeline,a place created by Core! Frisk and habitants of Aus that no longer exist or from genocide routes who only want to live in peace, the residents of all aus from the multiverse are temporarily there (Except the original universe)because their homes were destroyed by Error!Sans and they wouldn't come back to them until further notice.During the episode Cross is angry about the current situation happening apart related with his au and being in the omega timeline even though he told Core that he would go for his friends to the point that he pushes to Dream who only wants to help him and he is already hurt,he decides to give up and falls into a deep negativity which brings many problems, but it helps him remember the purpose for which he fights, redeem himself from his mistakes and accept Dream's help. You can see it is a great evolution in Cross as a character but now comes the question¿What is my problem with this episode?¡None! The truth is this is one of my favorite episodes of the series so far since you can see the work and quality that Jakei puts in their projects as well as the large number of aus that the Undertale community has created, but this is what happens.
When I watched the episode you would think that I was very happy and excited like everyone else and I was,but after see it I started to feel angry with Core for the way she acted that seemed indifferent to everything and everyone's attitude towards Cross that later they acted as if nothing happened between him and Dream and decided to support them later during the battle of the episode so he could win,so I ended up relating it to hypocrisy and feeling bad for Cross along with great anger and frustration. But some time later after I calmed down,I decided to watch the episode again and I realized that I made a big mistake and came to conclusions without thinking beforehand.Although Core seems indifferent and doesn't care about others unless it's for her convenience, she really does and in Part of it can be reflected in his attitude towards Cross when he expresses concern for him as well as for others and it is true that everyone reacted badly because Cross pushed Dream and his hostility, but it was nothing else because of that, they did not blame him for what happened to their worlds since Error was who did that and in the fight he decided to redeem himself and trust Dream and when everyone tries to help them they generate positive feelings and during this it is seen in the dialogues that they are supporting Dream but also Cross as I think they realized he tried to redeem himself and that's why they supported him.
Thanks to this I was able to reflect and realize that the anger I felt was not because of the episode but because I didn't feel capable of achieving with Madnesstale or my other projects the same as the rest of the creators of aus or Jakei herself and not becoming part of something like this and started feeling powerless and useless, but along with that I could see that I identified with Cross in many aspects since I also have many regrets and I want to redeem myself from them and improve as a person.Despite to all this bad experience that I created and that keeps coming and going even until now,I remind myself that I should not let it affect me and remember again and again that I managed to realize that I was wrong and see the positive as that I am already contributing little by little with the community.Even over the years I still love Undertale and what this wonderful community has created that continues strong despite the years and that has served as a great source of inspiration for what I want to do in the future.
If you have read this far, thank you very much for taking the time to read my story, relief and analysis. The truth is that I have not told anyone about this since I have no one to talk to about these types of things and even if I told someone online It could seem uncomfortable and I want to avoid having problems of any kind due to bad experiences in the past.I also cried writing all this and honestly i feel better with everything and myself.Even if no one see this or don't care, especially because this account is recent and doesn't have so much followers,i'm glad to vent out about this and keep going with my goals.
With that said Happy Anniversary Undertale and tha still receiving more love ahead in the future. ♥

Fair Warning: This post is very rambly. Super fucking long. And has a bunch of paragraphs about topics that to be quite frank deserve their own post. This is me TLDRing like 7 different essays because I have a lot to say and can't shut the fuck up but this is despite it all still a tumblr post.
The fact that SSO exists at all in the year 2023 is not an achievement in and of itself.
That's the TLDR to this post I'm about to write because that's basically what I think, but there is a longer discussion to have here. And I think it's a discussion worth having because despite it all we still live in a world where gender makes people irrationally fucking mad, and so therefore here I am to talk shit about a horse game which I have called mediocre all day.
Well, if you don't want to read this entire thing, here's all you need to know:
If Animal Crossing in the year of 2020 can define the first year of the pandemic for basically half the internet, then SSE can optimise their game a little better in the year 2023.
And here's wonderwall: (But before wonderwall, obvious disclaimer that I'm just one cis not-het woman Swede who has opinions about things, I'm not going to solve centuries of oppression on my fucking tumblr dashboard. Neither are SSE gonna solve it, nor immortalise it, with their mediocre MMO, we all know this we are smart, let's go.)
To SSO's credit, I think it's nice that SSE has wholly embraced the fact that they are a very feminine game primarily played by and targeted towards young girls, despite it all we still need more of that, and it's cool that they're trying the most. (Just wish they wouldn't completely throw their especially above average transmasc audience under the bus for this but that is genuinely not my post to make as I am not transmasc and this post isn't about that, but all I'm saying is that SSE aren't flawless and I was here for both 2011 and 2022 so I happen to know when they literally lie about why this game was created in the first place.)
However,
There is a difference between "We want to bring quality to this audience which usually doesn't get quality" and "Because we're the only ones targeting this audience we don't need to worry about quality". Settling for the latter, especially today, isn't actually that progressive nor is it helping anyone, especially if we're talking about the game's general quality.
So, I know that talking about like, what is a "good" game or whatever will always be a wall to wall conversation, because everyone has different ideas of what good means. (see: Some people going "I enjoy this so it's good" and some going "I enjoy this but it Isn't good" at Dorian's poll) This isn't a problem at all it's simply how the human experience works. However, if we're talking about the good as in "objective" quality, then I think we need to remember something.
It's not 2011 anymore, and being a girls game, standalone, isn't an achievement anymore. We expect some fucking effort by now.
We don't live in a world where you as an 8 year old kid have to pick between playing COD or playing SSO exclusively (a choice made in 2011 by me as an 8 year old for reference, I literally was there, don't worry). We have a lot wider a selection of games to choose from, and we live in an industry which has also gotten a Lot better at actually celebrating less traditionally masculine games.
For example, Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley, to name two examples, would probably be pretty dismissed in 2011, had they released then, because they're games that in general are seen as more feminine. (Slower, cute aesthetics, about farming, has cute little guys in them in AC's case.) But nowadays, they're some of the most popular games around, and they're games that most people, regardless of gender, have played. And obviously people still make fun of them, but it isn't cool to make fun of them anymore. Y'all remember when everyone and their mother was playing New Horizons as it came out during the perfect time for everyone to play it just as the pandemic started? And that's a really feminine game if we want to divide games into feminine and masculine, which we at the end of the day will do because humans are obsessed with binary opposition. And it still defined a whole year for a whole bunch of people!
And obviously you might say that it's unfair to compare little ol' SSO to these games. And it is. If we're comparing them as games on a technical equal ground. But we're not. I'm exemplifying that games that are more feminine/played by a lot of women don't have to suck.
So by, conciously or subconciously, implying that SSO Can't be as good as other games or Shouldn't Be Expected To Be simply because women's games just Are worse, you're dismissing the fact that feminine games Do succeed, especially recently. Not only on the market, but as entertainment. And no matter what game you make, no matter what damn resources you have, you better make sure that your audience can fucking play it with the specs you yourself recommend. Because letting a company get away with settling for mediocrity further normalises girls' games not needing to be as good because they're already so shit that someone even trying is good enough. Which in 2023, is Not good enough. Even young girls deserve not to shill out tens of thousands, which they Do Not Have, for super PCs just because SSE forgot to optimise their open world game.
Lastly, all I'm saying is that if we're going to say "Yes, SSO is good." Don't follow it up with "Compared to women's games from 2005 that are so dead nobody remembers them anymore." Because SSO is a game that exists in 2023, and at some point we have to acknowledge that. And if this game wants to survive another decade, I think the first people who need to move away from 2011, is its audience.
Women’s games don’t have to suck. And implying that they do says more about you than it does about the game. Especially if your idea of “good standard” for women’s games. are almost 20 years old. At some point, we All have to move into the present times. Even if your game of choice is a little behind.
#Anyways sorry for this#This also goes into another thing I've been seeing which is comparing SSO to older games that are long since dead#Eh hate to break it to you people#But SSO exists in 2023#And we Need to acknowledge that#Drops this and goes into hiding#This is very tldry and as stated I could make separate posts about each of these topics#And tbfh it kinda switches points halfway through#But I have So Much Shit to say about this so here it is#Basically#SSO is an old game with a lot of outdated leftover shit to figure out#And#SSO exists in 2023 and at some point we need to judge it as such#Can and should coexist

Hi it’s me again! Honestly that’s cool I thought it may have been omegaverse related but in case it wasn’t I didn’t want to embarrass myself. 😭 I blame wattpad and the fact like I really liked werewolves. 😔
Anyways! Definitely if you do post anything related to your characters I would be happy to read! They’re really stunning!
Also I was curious how you gain inspiration for your characters. I know you mentioned you put parts of yourself into their stories and/or them, but are there usually any other factors that help you figure out how they may look or who they’re personalities will be? Whether it’s a songs, lyric(s), animals, aesthetics, shows/movies, or anything.
Hey hey anon!! ᵔદᵔ
Loll tbh I kinda judged the omegaverse at first until I watched coleydoesthings video on it. She gives a very good explanation and it even got me interested soo here we are! I was a tiny bit hesitant on sharing the smut here bc "cringe" but idrc!! (This is tumblr lol we're all weirdos)
And tysm!! 🩷 I'm glad to hear that 🥺 I might work some more on the doc since I'm pretty much gonna be in bed all day 😭 probably won't get to release it today but hopefully I'll be halfway done or smth
Also, since I don't actually play the game a lot (I've even removed some gameplay mods) I've been thinking about making short stories until maybe one day when I actually want to work on a full series - once i get the lore and all that jazz locked down that is. For now they'd just be little scenarios and things that happen in their lives ᵔદᵔ I don't rlly like the gameplay so might as well use the sims as a creative medium lol
I get most of my inspo off of pinterest and sometimes other people's sims! I have a simspo board which has faces, character concepts, and even style inspiration. I also have moodboards dedicated to them, which helps me put together their overall vibe. Music is kind of a factor too, although I associate a sim with a song I already know instead of making sims based off of it. Some sims I've based off of people I know irl
I also want to work on a mini music project as well as a voice canon one :> ohh and an incorrect quotes one too! Just a silly way to understand their characters a bit better :3
I take inspo for world building as well! I'm really focusing on vampires rn. I took some inspiration from dracula, the vampyre, interview with a vampire, and various yt videos on vampire lore/history. This video explains the biology of vampires (he even scientifically explains how crosses are harmful to them!!), and this one explains their history.
For example: before the pretty, well put-together person that we envision when we think of vampires, vampires before that were depicted as more animalistic than anything. So why not have the best of both worlds!! When in human form, my vampires have very little vampiric qualities (ex. Keith's eyes have a red glint to them, the vatores ears are slightly pointed, and all of them have larger canines than the average human), they're able to show up on camera and have reflections, and crosses are only harmful to them if they're blessed. When they turn into their dark form (or "true form" as hunters call it), however, they do not have a reflection, they cannot be caught on camera, and like the old vampires, they appear monstrous.
