I'm not even attracted to women but I would 100% marry her.
She's everything.
Hot take: I never cared much for Frozen until Frozen II came along, and F2 has become one of my favourite comfort movies.

I got myself a cool Elsa figurine made by beast kingdom. It was 345 euros but totally worth it. The detail is amazing on her, the dress is super well made and she has a great long cape. And it comes with a little certificate :)

Elsa's Liberation from Society's Shackles
Her whole life, Elsa had been held captive by an overwhelming sense of confinement within the walls of Arendelle. As the queen, she had found herself perpetually vigilant, striving to remain in control of her formidable powers, lest she inadvertently transform an innocent into a frosty statue. She had to repeatedly offer reassurance to her subjects, assuring them that she posed no danger to them, which burdened her with an almost palpable sense of suffocation. In her heart of hearts, Elsa had pined for an escape, a sanctuary that would release her from the shackles of her responsibilities and permit her to cast aside all her cares and anxieties. An idyllic oasis where she could shed her guard and experience the exhilaration of freedom, revelling in her unique abilities and true essence.
And she had finally found it.
As Elsa walked through the Enchanted forest, a feeling of peace and tranquility washed over her like a gentle wave. The trees that towered above, seemed to exude a sense of ancient wisdom, their branches swaying gently in the wind as if in a dance with the forces of nature. The snow-covered ground crunched beneath her boots, each step punctuating the serenity of the surroundings. The air was crisp and refreshing, invigorating her senses with its purity.
In this moment, Elsa felt a weight lifted from her shoulders. For the first time in her life, she felt truly free, unburdened by the expectations and demands of others. She had always felt trapped, confined by the walls of society that had been built up around her, dictating what she could and could not do, say, or be. But here, in the heart of the forest, Elsa was able to let go of all of that. She was able to simply exist, to be present in the moment, without any external pressure or influence.
As she continued to walk, Elsa found herself breathing deeper, her lungs filling with the pure, clean air. Her mind quieted, the constant chatter of worries and anxieties fading away into the background. Instead, she focused on the beauty of her surroundings, the way the sunlight filtered through the trees, dappling the forest floor with soft, golden light.
In the Enchanted Forest, where the realm of magic thrived and the mystical creatures roamed free, Elsa found finally a haven where she was valued not for her abilities, but for the essence of her being. The spirits of the forest, who once regarded her with suspicion and fear, had finally recognised the true nature of her heart, and welcomed her with open arms.
It was a long and arduous journey for Elsa to find such acceptance, for she had always been burdened by the weight of her powers, which had caused destruction and chaos since she was a young girl of eight. Her magic was a part of her, an extension of her very soul, and she had always struggled to control it, despite best efforts, her fears and doubts had always crept in, and in her darkest moments, her powers had taken over.
For Elsa, it was a transformative experience. She learned to trust in herself and her abilities, to embrace her magic as a gift, not a curse. Learned to let go of her fears and doubts, and to see the world with a new perspective.
It was then, she realised that the Enchanted Forest was not just a place of magic and wonder, but a place of healing and growth.
In the end, Elsa found what she had been searching for all along: a place where she belonged, where she was loved for who she was. And she knew that she could never go back to the life she had left behind, for the Enchanted Forest had become her home, and its inhabitants her family.
For days, Elsa wandered through the forest, exploring every nook and cranny. She discovered hidden lakes, sparkling waterfalls, and secret glades where the sun filtered through the trees. She spent her days playing with the wind and snow, creating ice sculptures and snowmen, and revealing in the freedom she had never known before.
The Northuldra people, bestowed upon Elsa an invaluable gift - the knowledge and wisdom of their ways. Under their guidance, Elsa learned to attune herself to the rhythms and spirits of the land, honing her instincts to a fine edge.
Elsa came to understand that the forest was not simply a collection of trees, but a living entity, a vast and interconnected web of life. She learned to read the signs and signals of the forest, to listen to its whispers and echoes, and to sense the hidden threads that bound it together.
As she delved deeper into the mysteries of the forest, Elsa developed a profound connection to the Northuldra people. They shared a common language, a language of the heart, that transcended the barriers of culture and tradition. Elsa felt a kinship with them, a sense of belonging that she had never experienced before.
Elsa finally found that deeper sense of purpose and fulfilment, and her powers became an integral part of her identity, no longer something to be feared or hidden away.

things I think frozen does very well that were forgotten by the anti-hype crowd
It is a natural occurrence that the breakthrough of a piece of media will eventually end up in its own anti-hype crowd culture. We have reached a point, long ago, in which saying that Frozen is bad or that Anna and Elsa aren't as great as the hype says became a sign of...
✨ status, intelligence, not-like-other-girls revolutionary warrior ✨
It's impossible to say "Frozen" anywhere without someone popping out of thin air to preach how they don't like it and how flawed and annoying and how X is better, because reasons.
But after Frozen II, this crowd became louder. I just can't find a single video on YT about Frozen that is not about someone dashing or overly criticizing the movie and its characters because it's cool, and different, and oh-so-clever to be one of the superior ones who weren't caught on this Disney trap.
Yet I feel like the hype made people forget *why* the world was so impacted by this story in the first place. I have my own whys, and some popular whys, here is a list of a few of them that I care to discuss.
Sympathetic Neurodivergent Character. In all fairness, Elsa might still be seen as a villain by some people -- usually because of their inability to understand nuance, analyze a text, or just self-righteous ignorance. But it is very obvious in the movie that the whole narrative and the artistic choices try to paint Elsa's struggle and personality in a positive, or at least in an understanding light. She's not the monster who people fear, who she fears, and who another story would make to be a villain. She's a traumatized child dealing with a burden too great for anyone. Let's remember that back in 2013 the talk about mental health wasn't as nearly as spread as it is today, and having a queer-coded, canonically neurodivergent Disney PrincessTM was unthinkable. Dare I say, Elsa's significance and symbology were completely green-lit by accident. Maybe the artistic force behind it was aware of that, but Disney Corporation just wanted the cute girls to sell dolls and hopefully pay itself. This is a win for the mental disable community and for the queer community that is forgotten and downplayed everywhere. After all, we are woke now!
Complex and Shattered Sibling Relationship Getting Healed. I swear to heavens if I have to hear anyone else compare these two to Lilo and Nani, and try to force them against each other like it's some kind of necessary comparison I will-... Anna and Elsa are sisters who love and care about each other. But they are in a very specific context in which their relationship is broken. This exact premise is what makes the movie excels. It was original -- as far as originally is possible or real. And such a breath of fresh air. The premise of this conflict in which the problem did not have an easy solution, was enough for a very compelling tale. It's so beautiful and wholesome to watch these young women struggle and find healing. Their undying affection and genuine love for each other make us hope so hard that they can finally find peace. I won't even touch on the matter that sibling relationships are complex and nuanced and how Frozen showing that to kids might help them to mend their own conflicts because it goes without saying. Just in the matter of narrative alone, this is a story that had to be told and should be praised again.
The Soundtrack Slapped Everyone In The Face Repeatedly. The song is good. The Broadway vibe is delicious. It's a fact.

I love how this so well analysed! I always had a soft spot for Show yourself and now it's got a higher place because of all these details explained.
Let It go was when Elsa accepted and embraced her powers but NOT herself. She still feared herself. She went far away because she feared hurting people. Show yourself though finally changed that doubt in herself. It showed her who she was meant to be and what she is capable of doing. She found herself. Embraced and accepted herself at last. It's such an emotional song for Elsa. She has really come a long way. She will no longer let that fear get the best of her. She knows what she's meant to do now.
Frozen 2 isn't as bad as some people say it is. Yes it may have not been as good as the first for some, yeah it had a few flaws but it's message and the character arcs don't fail.
Now I'm just curious to see what's next for the sisters in this third and fourth installment. What Elsa needs to tell Elsa's story, if her powers. Ooh what if she lost them? What would she be without them? Elsa's powers will definitely grow that's for sure. But what is out to the test this time is to be seen!
Ooh I can't wait!
The Most Beautiful Detail in Frozen 2
Frozen 2 has many little details that add to its emotional depth and impact. Some are more prominent, others more subtle. They work as foreshadowing, or show the bonds between the characters, or are subtly hinting where the heroes are at their emotional journey. The latter may be scarce, but they are by far the greatest.
And the most beautiful of them belongs to Show Yourself.
Show Yourself is the peak of Elsa's character arc. It's the moment she accepts herself: all that makes her unique, human and magical. The moment she steps into the center of the Fifth Spirit symbol, she's surrounded by memories.
Tumblr media
Most of them are nice, others are a dread to remember. Some aren't even hers, which I doubt Elsa paid attention to. Because then, a vision of Iduna appears, in the middle of her daughter's memories of her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, I think it's important how most of the memories are repeated throughout the shots.
Amongst the multitude, there's the moment Elsa was firstly given the gloves and taught the horrid mantra of "Conceal, Don't Feel"; the only memory of hers (or at least the only one I noticed) that appears once.
Tumblr media
It happens to be behind her. Which I find incredibly fitting for the moment. Yes, it literally appears behind her, but if we see it metaphorically; her past is behind her. She can't outrun it, she can't erase it, but she doesn't have to look back. She doesn't even turn. It's not even in her field of vision once. She looks forward. Not to "Conceal, Don't Feel" but to "Show Yourself".
Now to the emotional punch of it. As Elsa sings 'show yourself', she looks at her hands.
Tumblr media
And then at her left hand. The hand her Father held onto when he taught her to hide herself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And as she shows herself, as she says it, says it with her whole chest, overjoyed at the truth of it, the memory behind her disappears.
Tumblr media
Elsa, of course, didn't forget. Nor did Ahtohallan. The memory didn't vanish; it faded on the glacier's wall. Much like Elsa's memory.
Those words, that moment, they don't affect her anymore. She knows better. Now, every time she needs something to hold on to, to calm her doubts, and remind her who she is, she will go back to "Show Yourself", not "Conceal, Don't Feel".
The memory that plays in her head again and again, the mantra she mouths to herself before every decision, public outing, or emotional/upsetting situation has been replaced.

Hi fellow Frozen fans! I’m here to talk about an opinion from the Frozen fandom that has been bothering me since Frozen 2 came out. I’ve heard several people claim that Elsa was selfish for abdicating the throne to Anna to become the Fifth Spirit. Some people even seem to imply that Elsa doing so is ruining Anna and Kristoff’s lives and their plans for the future. I don’t know where all of this is coming from, but based on varying complaints from the fandom, I have a few ideas.
I think, that some people are just upset because they would rather Elsa remain the prim and proper Queen of Arendelle and Anna, the carefree, bubbly princess. The people who sport this idea annoy, and even anger me to some extent. Anna and Elsa are so, so much more than that. Do you all just want them to remain frozen in time? You have no desire for them to grow as people? If you truly love and appreciate the sisters as characters, then you would WANT them to grow, and reach their full potential.
Why shouldn’t Anna get a chance to lead her people? Why shouldn’t Elsa, a woman who was locked away in her room for thirteen years, get a chance to experience true, complete freedom? Why should she be denied the chance to be happy? To live a happy and fulfilling life?
Is it because she’s the first born and you feel she needs to live out the rest of her days fulfilling that obligation? There were undoubtably plenty of first born Kings and Queens who assumed the throne yet had do desire for such a burden. Nobody should have to be resigned to such a fate. Especially such a unique person like Elsa.
Another reason that I have heard mentioned, is that some people prefer the “Two Queens“ ending. For the people who believe that Elsa and Anna should have ended up ruling Arendelle together, as equals, let me start by saying that that’s not how monarchies work. A monarch usually refers to a single person. A person of royal blood and related to the Royal family.
Yes, a monarch usually does wed another person, but the person who marries an heir apparent only shares their rank and title. They do not have any sovereign powers over the kingdom. They do not rule. Any political power they have is limited to what the monarch allows them to have.
So, the “Two Queens” idea would not work not only because the power of the monarch can only belong to one person, but Anna is Elsa’s sister. Yes, there WAS insest in real life monarchies, but as two females, an heir would never be able to be produced. This was the main reason why monarchs were, often forced, to marry. To produce an heir. The only reason Anna was able to ascend was because Elsa abdicated without a child of her own. They could never have ruled Arendelle together.
I know that part of the reason that this idea appealed to people is because it fit in with the “two sisters“ theme of Frozen. Many people believe that Elsa leaving Arendelle goes against that theme. Or that Elsa leaving Arendelle won’t strengthen their bond. I understand where people are coming from, but again, I disagree.
Elsa is 24 years old. She’s an adult. She’s around my age, and I have many friends who have moved out of their homes. That doesn’t mean that the bonds they have with their parents and siblings deteriorate or that they don’t love them anymore. It just mean that they’re independent. Same with Elsa. It’s only natural that the older sister is the first to move out of the house. She’ll always lover her family and can visit them at any time she likes.
As I mentioned above, Elsa is not ruining Anna and Kristoff’s marriage and lives in the future. She isn’t shoving off uneeded responsibility onto Anna. While Anna may not have been groomed to be Queen growing up the same way that Elsa was, she probably was made aware that as the second born daughter of the King and Queen, that if anything happened to Elsa, Arendelle would look to her. It’s not like Anna is coming into this with zero understanding of what’s expected of her.
I don’t know how many of you read any of the artick of interviews with Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck when Frozen 2 came out, but I did. They stated that the entire point of the movie was for “Anna to become Queen and Elsa to be free.” So the outcome that you’re complaining about was always the intention. Sorry.
Chris and Jen said that Anna should become Queen because of her deep love for her people and that Elsa doesn’t deserve to be trapped in a box. I couldn’t agree more. Anna loves her people and wants to help and do things for them. That’s what being a Queen is all about. That’s why Anna would want and do well in the position. She would be helping her people.
Elsa is a unique person with a unique gift. Even though her powers had been accepted by the people of Arendelle and she was a beloved Queen, she was still somewhat restrained for the sake of fitting in. Elsa could have never embraced her powers and all that she is if she had remained in Arendelle as its Queen.
Elsa abdicated the throne because she had a higher calling. As guardian of the Enchanted Forest, a place where the magic of nature is respected, Elsa can be herself and use her powers to the fullest extent to protect the forest and all its inhabitants.
In conclusion, By abdicating the throne to become the fifth spirit and leaving Anna to become Queen, both Elsa and Anna get the chance to grow into their best selves. This is about what is best for both of them and their happiness. Not about your fantasy preference for their future.

Elsa in Idunas old Northuldra atire
While drawing this I realised how much Elsa resembles her mother, its so nice. I not only gave her the Northuldra clothing but I also added the playfulness that Iduna had when she was younger, based on the scenes with Agnarr. You know, where they play together?
I thought it be nice to see Elsa in a more playful manner after all she and Anna went through, both deserve to be happy after all. It would be cool to see Elsa a bit more playful eventho shes suppose to be a mighty spirit xD
Ps: Shes also playing with Maren in this piece

The Lingering Ache Within
Anna, the young queen of the idyllic kingdom of Arendelle, stood stoically upon the towering balcony of her grandiose palace. The frigid gusts of a cool fjordal wind cascaded over her visage, yet it did little to quell the disquietude that reverberated throughout her anguished soul. Her azure eyes fixated longingly upon the sparkling water of the fjord beyond the boundaries of her castle, causing the tears within her eyes to cascade down her cheeks like arctic daggers piercing her very essence. Her heart still bore the aching wound of the day when her cherished sister Elsa, departed to reside with the spirits.
Despite the passage of time, the agony of separation continued to plague Anna's soul. On that day, Anna had wept copiously, her tears akin to the frosty barbs that ravaged her spirit. Elsa had transformed into the illustrious fifth spirit, a formidable entity endowed with both power and beauty, while Anna felt diminutive and insignificant in comparison.
The queen's self-doubt was compounded by her sibling's extraordinary prowess as the snow queen, her aura exuding admiration and reverence, while Anna struggled to command the same level of respect in the court of Arendelle.
As Anna stood ruminating, a gentle breeze rustled her hair.
"Greetings Gale," she exclaimed to the wind spirit. Suddenly, Gale dropped a paper plane into Anna's hand, eliciting a startled reaction from her. "Ah, Elsa's letter!" she exclaimed, unfolding the said piece of paper.
"Dearest Anna,
I shall be arriving home this Tuesday. I am aware it is a lot earlier than anticipated but there is an occasion to commemorate the Nurthaldran Family Holiday, and I would relish spending it with you. Though we could celebrate amidst the verdant forest, I confess that I miss the comforts of our castle.
P.S. - Please do not subject me to playing charades each night of my stay (I know you do it to watch me suffer).
Love you,
 Your Elsa.”
Anna could not suppress the smile that crept upon her face. It was moments such as these that reminded her of the simple joys of life. Regardless of the distance between them, no matter how far Elsa was, no matter where she lived, home would always be both the sisters sharing laughter and love together. Home was Elsa recounting her forest exploits with fervour and zeal while having dinner, home was Anna eagerly awaiting Elsa’s return the next week. Home was Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, Sven and Olaf playing charades, their bond never failing to fill Anna's heart with warmth.
Home was Elsa’s hands wrapped around her in a tight embrace, while whispering how much she loved Anna and how proud she was of her.
Although she could not match Elsa's magnificence, Anna acknowledged her own place as the Queen of Arendelle. Her value never shadowed by Elsa’s glory but rather brightened by it. Like the moon, who lit up by the sun’s light but was appreciated for her own beauty.
Gradually, Anna's heart began to heal. She wiped away her tears and returned her attention to the serene panorama before her. Although the thought of Elsa was still bittersweet, Anna recognised that her sister was happy among the spirits, and deep down, she was content for her sister, even if it meant Anna was left alone.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a golden glow over the terrain, Anna drew a deep breath and turned back towards the palace. She had a kingdom to govern and a populace to safeguard. Although she could not match Elsa's splendor, she was the Queen of Arendelle, a role that she would always cherish.

arbor dentata or manifestations of my shadow
Tumblr media
the last week has been great. on my birthday, i rode the train down to the parade with my girlfriend and my kids and their partners. it was the first time any of our partners had seen the parade. everybody loved it
afterwards, my girlfriend and i went to the pool, got mango boba jelly smoothies, and watched kinds of kindness. it was one of the best birthdays i've had in years
sunday was wings and crinkle cuts deep fried in cast iron woks in my parents' backyard, and monday, finn and her boyfriend and i went to the river pool for the last day of the season. the crowd at the pool was manic and drunk and fun
the rest of the week has been quiet, but highs in the low eighties have been such a nice break from this summer's relentless record breaking heat. i still can't believe that it will probably be hotter next year and hotter still the year after that
