I JUST SAY ANNA FUMBLED UP AN, ACTUALLY, BARE MINIMUM MAN (and foil replacing Hans btw 😃) TO SAVE HER SISTER.... SHE LITERALLY FUMBLED ROMANCE TO SAVE THE PERSON, THAT SHE ACTUALLY, LOVES THE MOST!!!

No dirty Kristoff, who even don't washes himself and is a foil to my man Hans, could replace an actual, platonic true love between sisters, soulmates, best friends. 💕💕💕💕💕💕❄️💜

Elsa and Anna are everything to me and they are everything and soulmates to each other. I love them so much. And I really hope Anna will find romantic true love in historian daddy in Frozen 3 + 4 😭💕

To me, the whole idea of Hans's betrayal not being foreshadowed (beyond him asking for marriage immediately, which isn't really a warning sign in a fairy tale retelling) is scary. It feels like they're saying that there's no way I'm going to be able to realize that a person is gaslighting me, that they're displaying warning signs-because there are no warning signs. Just many many many indications that Hans would be great husband material.

And you know what's worse? Actual warning signs are shown with Kristoff. He belittles her, and tells her she's not worthy of respect, and gaslights her, and doesn't let her do anything, and stands around insulting her instead of actually trying to help so he can feel superior, etc. He's basically bad relationship material + gaslighting ex material. And he's shown to be the ideal.

Like, Hans spent one day with Anna, and he showed less red flags than Kristoff when he had a ten minute conversation with Anna.

I'm sorry. I've tried and I've tried, but I cannot see any true hints of Han's betrayal. I've read al the suggested hints, but I don't find them satisfying.

Subtle expressions? You can condemn anyone evil for that.

Hitting the chandelier? It actually would have been better for Hans's plans if he simply "didn't notice in time." Hans had ten seconds to act, ten seconds to access the situations, ten seconds to choose whether to let Elsa die or not, and he chose to save her by redirecting the arrow. And the scene feels too fast for me to say that Hans was intentionally hitting the chandelier.

Hans saying Anna was ordinary? Admittedly this is the second best one, but I cannot say if it really is how Hans feels about her or if it was something stupid he said in an attempt to defend Anna. (And besides, Krsitoff says much worse about Anna-basically saying she's stupid and undeserving of respect-but he's the good guy.)

Hans asking for marriage immediately? It's a fairy tale retelling, so this isn't really a warning sign but a convention of the genre. It works in another story, but not here, in a fairy tale. (though this still is the best hint)

And it's not like there needed to be something obvious. Ernesto De La Cruz had subtle yet obvious in hindsight hints-he didn't run towards his supposed best friend, but instead used Miguel as a shield, as if he was afraid he'd get hurt by his best friend. The villainess in the Incredibles 2, when she talked about how her dad would have been saved if he didn't rely on heroes but instead saved himself. It was like ten seconds, yet it's a better hint than anything Hans did.

So no, I don't feel Hans's betrayal was foreshadowed properly.
