Ok, I don't usually post about these kinds of things, but I think I want to briefly talk about the new Overwatch hero because I've barely seen anyone talk about it yet.

So this is Juno, the newest addition to the Overwatch 2 roster, we currently don't know much about her. Now, don't get me wrong, I think the design is appealing enough, pretty cute even - in a vacuum (hehe), it would be fine. However... if you've been following the development of Overwatch at all and seen the other heroes, especially the female characters, you may see why this design is frustrating to me.

Why yes, it's another conventionally attractive young woman in a skin tight suit, despite being some sort of astronaut. Damn, must be some amazing future tech that allows people to wear space suits that look like body paint and yet still provide protection against radiation, vacuum and extreme temperatures. One could argue that this isn't her full suit and she is just wearing this in-game because combat, but come on. I want to add that having a body like this isn't bad, of course, it's more so the fact that the women in this game are rarely allowed different proportions or facial features.

And yea, I wasn't kidding when I said skin tight.. Certainly she also has movement animations with gratuitous hip-swaying to accompany this certified Blizzard-Moment™ of a design. The animations are cool, but this combo left me stunned when I watched the trailer haha.

The sexualisation part isn't the only thing that bothered me, of course. I actually liked this concept art much more - it provided a bit of bulk and visual interest while still retaining that sleekness that they wanted to have in there.

But for some reason, they stripped her of this, leaving it almost a bit under-designed, especially for Overwatch 2 standards.

All of this is just my opinion, and I want to emphasize that I don't fully hate the design. I'm just lamenting what could have been and the fact that, for a new hero, they just made cute Overwatch girl number 12 again. In the end, they want to market to straight gamer boys so eh, it is what it is.

Trailer park Steve AU part 45

Nancy, Jonathan, and some guy with the longest hair Steve's ever seen are standing in a loose circle with Eddie and his bandmates, talking and sort of dance-nodding along to The Power of Love by Huey Lewis (a fact that Steve absolutely intends to mock his boyfriend for the second he gets the chance), and Steve, like, mentally girds his loins.

He and Jon are cool with each other, and he and Eddie are obviously, uh, plenty warmed up to one another by now, but the rest of them...

One's a stranger, one's an ex who seems drunk as shit and is currently so invested in spinning around to the music that she hasn't opened her eyes to notice him, and the other three are thawing to him at a truly glacial pace. Steve hasn't so much as been invited to watch a rehearsal yet because Eddie's 'still working on them' and needs 'a bit more time, but don't worry, they'll come around.'

They don't openly scowl when he and Robin approach, though, so Steve takes that as a win.

"Harrington!" Eddie calls, bowing deeply to add, "Lady Buckley."

Steve would feel stung by the surname if not for how downright giddy Eddie sounds. God, he loves tipsy Eddie; fucking Disney cartoon boy.

"Munson," he plays along, giving him a sly grin and a shoulder bump as he sidles up next to him. "Didn't know you were allowed to leave the basement at these things."

Jeff interrupts his air-guitaring to glare at Steve, bur Eddie holds out a hand and assures him that Steve's just fucking around. Before Steve can apologize or defend himself, Long Hair Guy leans in across the circle, his eyes wide and intense and bloodshot to hell.

"Dude," he greets. "You have. Such beautiful hair."

Steve barks a laugh. Robin rolls her eyes. Jonathan also rolls his eyes, but it seems more fond and less annoyed. "Can't take you anywhere," he mutters to the guy, then asks them, "You guys met Argyle yet?"

Steve holds out a hand. Confusion washes over him as he processes what Jonathan just said. "Uh." Argyle. "Like the sweater?"

"Yeah, man," Argyle smiles, dopey and slow. Sure. The guy in head-to-toe tie-dye and a neon green fanny pack is named Argyle. Why not? "My parents wanted a sheep, but they got me, instead."

Jonathan laughs like it's the funniest joke he's ever heard. Steve's pretty sure he's too sober for this conversation.

They exchange handshakes, and Robin asks if she can touch the guy's hair, and they all slip into easy, friendly conversation, naturally splintering into smaller groups of twos and threes. Steve's just getting the rundown on all the 'sick new gear' the band got for Christmas when the song changes, and god, this night just could not get better.

"Oh, fuck off!" Eddie groans in the DJ's direction.

Steve has to practically swallow his lips to keep himself from cackling, and then he gives up and does it, anyway, because Eddie looks like he just sucked a lemon while watching a dog die as his bandmates all start sing-shouting along. "We're talking away..."

"No." Eddie wheels around and points a finger at Steve, because Steve's singing, too.

Steve just sings louder. "I don't know what, I'm to say!"

"Oh, my god." He scrubs a hand down his face, dragging the skin down until Steve can see the pale pink of his inner eyelid. "Nobody I know has any goddamn taste!"

"Maybe you don't have any taste!" Robin teases, bouncing around and swinging her arms haphazardly to the music.

Nancy backs her up with a mumbled "Yeah!" but she's still spinning around in such tight circles that Steve doubts she has a single clue what's happening in the argument right now. Which is kind of endearing, actually. He likes how willing she is to stick up for people.

The chorus kicks in; Gareth air-drums the switch to half time just before Frank does an honestly super impressive falsetto of 'in a day or twoooooo', and Eddie despairs while Steve laughs his fucking head off.

Might be going insane or might be cooking. I don't know but I need to throw my Missing Link speculation into the void.

Also special thanks to @starlightwayfinder for pointing out the things that had me putting these pieces together in the first place. This is really just me building (a lot) on their initial idea lol

(Spoilers the ML Beta Test and the January ML Leak)

The leak in question.

(It's only kind of relevant but I figured I'd include it anyways.)

This leak reveals that it is possible, hell, even likely, that Destiny Islands will be in ML. Of course, this idea was already floating around with the whole nameless tropical-ish island in the beta tests, but this adds a whole other layer of proof for its inclusion.

With that note made, I'd like to point out some interesting things about Destiny Islands.

Destiny Islands seems to have a connection to the Realm of Darkness.

This is shown when Kairi's letter shows up on the Dark Margin (But hey... isn't it interesting that the Dark Margin looks the way it does in the first place? Not hard evidence by any means but definitely something to keep in mind).

2. The door in the Secret Place.

This is something that is specifically shown in the ML trailer even.

Everything is Connected.

3. It has knowledge of the outside worlds

This is because of Xehanort, of course, but keep it in mind. It'll be relevant later.

While I was talking to Starlight about the leak, she took a sidebar to talk about how excited she is to learn more about the Child of Destiny and the situation surrounding the prophecy.

I mentioned the fact that Destiny Islands was one of the worlds on the list, then they brought up this exchange from DR.

What an interesting thing to bring up and never mention again, huh? And Vor's "But why would anyone do that?" is so leading, you know? It really makes me wonder what might've been cut out of the game. Or... well... maybe this isn't just set up for Dark Road... maybe it's set up for something else.

Something in Missing Link.

We don't know whether or not the Child of Destiny prophecy is real. Or, let me rephrase that, we don't know if it was really written in the Book of Prophecies.

I would like to claim that it isn't, and my evidence for that is hidden in plain sight.

Sora is not seen in any of the worlds in KHUX.

Just to be thorough, the Disney worlds in UX (other than Wreak it Ralph) are future projections (according to the Book of Prophecies) of the worlds you are going to. Other than Olympus, they follow the plots of the movie decently loyally with some extra side quests thrown in.

And I understand that's like, "yeah, no kidding. They just didn't want to put him there because something something Player fills in his spot or they just wanted to follow the plot of the movies because it's easier or whatever", but a) this really would not be the first time (or the last time) Nomura would use the 'it's just a video game thing, its not that deep' to hide something in plain sight (Riku fusing with the dream eaters anybody?) and b) Cloud is there.

If they were just following the movies, why would Cloud be there? If Cloud is there in the future, then why isn't Sora? Or the Wayfinders for that matter?

The future written in the Book of Prophecies (at least at that point) does not include them and the Disney worlds different because of it.

(To address the rules of time travel, which kinda contradict the idea of being able to change the future, this isn't time travel. That is to say, the rules could be different. We don't know. Nomura hasn't told us.)

"Now that's cool and all, but how does that tie in to ML, and the Child of Destiny, and all that other stuff you were talking about earlier?"

Well, why does Sora leave the islands? Because of Riku. Why does Riku want to leave the islands? Because he wants to explore the outside worlds. Why does Riku know about the outside worlds? Because of, not only Terra, but Xehanort.

Why was Xehanort taken Destiny Islands in the first place?

If there was no Child of Destiny prophecy, Xehanort would never have left the islands because he wouldn't have even been there, and there would have been no light for Terra to follow to Destiny Islands to show Riku other worlds were real or give him a Keyblade.

And even if the world had fallen to darkness anyways, without a Keyblade, neither Sora nor Riku would've been able to travel between worlds.

But, obviously, that isn't how the games went. There is a Child of Destiny prophecy. So, if it didn't come from the Book of Prophecies then where did it come from?

Brain (and/or Player) could've made the Child of Destiny up as a ploy to try and change fate.

This may seem like it comes out of nowhere, but whether or not you can change the future that is written is something that Ava and Brain even talk about in KHUX.

Brain spends all of UX trying to change the future by not reading the Book of Prophecies. After that failed so spectacularly, who's to say he wouldn't try and take a more proactive approach this time.

So, remember all the way back, close to the beginning of the post when Starlight had brought up that scene from DR?

I think avoiding darkness prevailing and the light expiring might be a good reason.

We did it, we made it past all that build up and to the actual speculation/theory.

Brain (and/or Player) made up the Child of Destiny prophecy and, because the world was still reforming at the time, was able to will it into existence on Destiny Islands.

They tried to make it Xehanort (avoiding his fate as the prophesied Dark Seeker) by moving him there, but that didn't work. Despite everything, the real Child of Destiny (either Sora or Riku depending on your opinions) was born years later. Making the prophecy real, but not in a time Brain or Player would live to see.

There are probably loose threads in here so feel free to pick at them or add stuff to this or what have you. Might come back and add more later but I'm too tired to keep writing. What I put down was the gist.

Maybe she acts the way she does in the adult timeline, being buddy-buddy with Nat because she regrets it

What *did* they tell people when they got rescued? We know Lottie went nonverbal, a good few of them if not all of them probably did at least immediately after. We know they stayed low besides Taissa with her senator stuff but that was even longer after the initial rescue by two decades. They "prayed/preyed" but what else did they tell officials? Will we get a look at an interview scene either for a live show or by the cops maybe?

Shauna is *not* chill this season and I love it but also nat deserves so much better right now

Nat definitely deserves a lot better. I wonder if Lottie stands up for her at all, doesn't look like Travis likes Nat too much in the scene with Nat on the ground bleeding...

The song choice was great, can't wait to see the rest of the soundtrack! The overall vibes and cinematics of this season looks awesome and it's probably going to be way more traumatic and gorey than the others if the writers have anything to say about it

And most of all... WE BETTER SEE THE VAN TAN!

The scent of oil and gasoline clung to my clothes, my hands still stained with grease as I shut the garage doors behind me. It had been a long day at Jones Auto, the shop I built from the ground up. The only neutral ground in Riverdale, where both Serpents and Ghoulies came for their rides- bikes, muscle cars, whatever needed fixing. 

I didn’t pick a side. I never did. 

But that didn’t mean I didn’t have my…preferences. 

The second I stepped into my trailer, kicking off my boots, Jughead was already on me. His face was red with anger and before I could even say a word, my little brother shoved his phone in my face. 

“What the hell is this?” 

I blinked at the bright screen. It was a picture. A very clear picture. 

Of me. 

And Malachai. 

His arm slung around my waist, my fingers curled into his jacket, both of us close- too close for comfort in Jughead’s eyes. The way I leaned into him, the smirk on his lips, the way his forehead was nearly resting against mine- it told a story neither of us had planned on broadcasting. 

“Where did you get that?” I asked, my voice eerily calm. 

Jughead scoffed. “Does it matter? It’s all over town now! Y/N, what the hell are you thinking? He’s a Ghoulie!” 

I crossed my arms, tilting my head. “And? I work on Ghoulie cars every damn day, Jug. You think I don’t talk to them?” 

“You don’t just talk to Malachai.” He shot back, jabbing a finger at the picture. 

“You’re- what, dating him? Are you insane? Do you know what kind of guy he is? What he’s done?” 

My jaw clenched. “I know exactly who he is.” 

“That’s worse!” Jughead’s voice was full of disbelief. “You choose to be around him? You’re with him?” 

I rolled my eyes. “You don’t know him like I do, Jug.” 

“I know enough!” 

I sighed, rubbing my temples. “This isn’t your business.” 

“The hell it isn’t! You’re my sister!” His voice cracked slightly, frustration and worry mixing together. 

“You’re a Jones. You know what Malachai’s crew had done to the Serpents! To me! He’s dangerous!” 

I exhaled sharply, stepping closer. “Oh, and you’re so innocent, huh? The Serpents haven’t done their fair share of damage?” I shook my head. 

“I work for both sides, Jug. I’ve got no reason to play into this stupid war you and your freinds keep feeding into.” 

“That’s bullshit!” He spat. “Neutral ground doesn’t mean you crawl into bed with the enemy!” 

My eyes flashed dangerously. “Watch your mouth.” 

Jughead ran a hand through his hair, pacing like he was trying to figure out how to talk sense into me. 

“Y/N, please. Malachai uses people. He hurts people. You think you’re different? You think he actually gives a damn?” 

I let out a humorless laugh. “God, you're so blind!” 

“To what?” 

“To the fact that I’m not some naïve little girl.” I snapped. “I know exactly what I’m doing. I know who I’m with. And if you think for a second that I’m stupid enough to be played- then you don’t know me at all.” 

Jughead shook his head, looking at me like I was making the biggest mistake of my life. 

“You’re choosing him over your own family?” 

I clenched my fists. “I’m choosing me, Jughead. I built my own lift, my own shop, my own damn rules! You don’t get to tell me who I can and can’t be with.” 

The tension between us was thick, years of sibling loyalty being tested in ways neither of us expected. Finally, Jughead exhaled, shaking his head. 

“I hope you don’t regret this.” 

I grabbed my keys off the counter, ignoring the way my chest felt tight. 

“I won’t.” 

I walked out the door without looking back. 

The moment I stepped back into Jones Auto, I felt like I could breathe again. Here, I wasn’t just Jughead’s sister. I wasn’t a Jones who had to pick a side. I was my own damn person. And sure enough, leaning against one of the cars, arms crossed, watching me with that ever-present smirk- was Malachai. He pushed off the car as I walked in, eyes flickering over me, reading me like an open book. 

“Trouble at home, Princess?” 

I scoffed, throwing my keys onto the workbench. “Nothing I can’t handle.” 

Malachai stepped closer, reaching out to trail a finger under my chin, tilting my head up so I had to look at him. 

“He found out, huh?” 

“Yep.” 

His smirk widened. “And?” 

I grabbed the front of his jacket, yanking him down so our lips nearly touched. 

“And I don’t give a damn.” 

Malachai let out a low chuckle, his hands finding my waist, pulling me closer. 

“Good.” 

His lips crashed into mine, and in that moment, I didn’t care about Jughead. I didn’t care about the Serpents or the Ghoulies or the war they wanted to keep fighting. I cared about this. About him. About us. 

The garage was supposed to be neutral ground. It was the one place in Riverdale where the bullshit gang war didn’t exist. Where Serpents and Ghoulies could come to get their rides fixed, no questions asked. No fighting, no drama, just business. I built that peace. I worked for it. And in one reckless moment, Jughead and the younger Serpents destroyed it. 

It happened fast. Too fast. 

One second, Malachai had me pressed against the workbench, his hands on my waist, his lips brushing against mine with that cocky smirk of his. And the next- he was ripped away from me. 

“What the hell!?” My shout barely left my lips before the sound of fists colliding with flesh filled the garage. I whipped around to see Jughead and three other teen Serpented- Sweet Pea, Fangs, and some new kid- beating the shit out of Malachai. 

Fists flew, grunts and growls echoed against the walls as Malachai tried to defend himself, but it was four against one. And they weren’t holding back. 

“Stay away from her!” Jughead roared, delivering a brutal punch to Malachai’s ribs. 

“Y/N isn’t yours to mess with, Ghoulie scum!” Sweet Pea spat, landing another blow to Malachai’s face. 

My heart stopped. 

No. No, no, no! 

“GET OFF HIM!” I screamed, my voice breaking, but they didn’t listen. They just kept swinging. I saw red. 

The first thing my fingers wrapped around was a heavy wrench sitting on my workbench. Without thinking, I snatched it up and slammed it against the metal bench with a sharp, thunderous clang that ripped through the garage. The sound was so violent that the Serpents froze. Malachai groaned from the floor, wiping blood from his mouth as he struggled to push himself up. All four Serpents turned to look at me. 

The rage in my eyes must have said everything because the fight was over. 

“You stupid somes of bitches!” I seethed, voice trembling with fury. 

“This is neutral ground and you just fucking broke that!” 

None of them spoke. 

Jughead had the nerve to look like he regretted it, but I didn’t care. Not anymore. 

“You think you can just waltz in here and decide who I can and can’t be with?” I spat. 

“You don’t own me. You don’t get to make that choice!” 

“Y/N, we were just-” Jughead started, but I cut him off. 

“I don’t wanna hear your damn excuses!” My grip on the wrench tightened. 

“Get. The hell. Out!” 

No one moved at first. 

So I lifted the wrench again, slamming it even harder against the metal, making all of them flinch. 

“NOW!” 

That did it.

Jughead clenched his jaw, his hands still balled into fists, but he nodded at Sweet Pea, Fangs, and the other kid. One by one, they backed away, their eyes flickering between Malachai and me. They turned and left. And for the first time in years, I felt like I had lost my brother. 

The second the Serpents were gone, I dropped the wrench and rushed over to Malachai. His lip was split, his knuckles raw, and there was already a bruise forming on his cheekbone. His breathing was uneven, but his eyes were still sharp. 

“Damn.” He muttered, wiping more blood from his mouth. “Didn’t know you had that in you, Princess.” 

I let out a shaky breath, running a hand through my hair. “Shut up and let me fix you up.” He chuckled, but it turned into a wince. “Mihgt take you up on that.” 

I led him to the old couch in the back of the shop, grabbing my first-aid kit. He hissed when I dabbed alcohol on his split lip. 

“Don’t be a baby.” I muttered, but my voice was softer now. 

He smirked, wincing again. “Not my fault you’re rough with those hands, baby.” 

I rolled my eyes but didn’t say anything. My hands were still shaking as I patched him up. Not from fear, but from anger. 

Once Malachai was good I didn’t hesitate. I grabbed my phone, still fuming and dialed my Dad. FP answered on the second ring. 

“Hey, sweetie. What’s up?” 

I took a deep breath, forcing my voice to stay even. “Jughead and some of the others just came into my garage and jumped Malachai.” 

Silence. 

Then-

“They what?” Dad’s tone dropped, voice edged with danger. 

“They broke neutral ground, Dad.” I said, gripping the phone tighter. 

“They came in here, dragged him off me, and beat the shit out of him. In my shop. They think they get to tell me who I can and can’t be with, and they crossed the line.” 

Dad sighed heavily. “Y/N…” 

“I don’t give a damn how you feel about Malachai.” I cut in. “I don’t care if you like him or not. But this? This is about my business. I worked too hard to make Jones Auto a safe space for the Southside, and they just threw that in the gutter because of some stupid gang war!” I was on the verge of tears at this point. 

More silence. 

Then, finally, Dad exhaled. “You’re right.” 

That caught me off guard. “Wait… what?” 

“I don’t like Malachai.” Dad admitted. “I don’t trust him. But… I respect when you’re building, Y/N. And if they broke that trust, then they need to face the consequences.” 

My grip on the phone loosened. “So, you’ll handle it?” 

“They’ll know damn well not to pull that shit again.” He promised. 

“And as for Jughead… I’ll deal with him personally.” I swallowed hard because I knew that meant trouble for my little brother. But after what he did tonight? He deserved it. 

The second I hung up, Malachai chuckled from where he sat on the couch, a hand pressed to his bruised ribs. 

“Damn, Princess.” He mused. “Never thought I’d see the day FP Jones took your side over Jughead’s.” I let out a breath, sinking down next to him.

“Neither did I.” 

He smirked, leaning his head back against the couch. “You know this just makes me love you more, right?” 

I rolled my eyes, but couldn’t help the small smirk tugging at my lips. 

“Shut up, Mal.” 

But when he reached out, intertwining his fingers with mine- I didn’t pull away. Because for the first time in forever, I wasn’t standing in Jughead’s shadow. I was standing on my own. And no on- not my brother, not the Serpents, no one- was going to take that from me.

The announcement yesterday gave me so much brainrot so here are some SRWY predictions/theories that will see how it ages once the full roster is announced ✨

-More of a assumption but due to production I get the vibe shows from last year don’t have a shot getting into the base roster depending on dev time, any newly added shows are def any in 2021-2022, maybe a couple squeezed in from 2023 but not as likely as the other two as I assume development for this started late 2022-early 2023. That being said, I feel like it will be a crime if Bravern isn’t here given it’s still big japan even now with how many ads it’s in, plus it came out early 2024 that adding it in as dlc still seems possible. A shame it’s not in the base roster but it’ll definitely give the dlc a reason to sell.

-Other stuff like Grendizer U I would like to see in SRW (despite still not watching it) but being in July means it’s probably a bit too late for even dlc so we maaaay need to wait for the next srw. That being said I’m curious what they’ll use to rep mazinger as I personally can’t see Infinity coming back a third time- maybe will get Mazinkaiser or shin? (Pipe dream is SKL but that’s SADLY not happening)

-Interestingly Gwitch is only labeled as season 1 which does lineup to the theory of 2023 shows are probably being excluded as well though my friends who seen Gwitch saids season 2 has more stuff going on- it’s still odd if season 1&2 were considered two series entries or if season 2 was made as dlc-that would be a bit much-but maybe this is POSSIBLY hinting at this next SRW will be a continuous trilogy of games rather the a new universe each time ala the Z games? So s2 will be adapted on the next “Y” game. (Though saying Y2 gonna sound pretty weird lol) Overall I’d take this over gwitch season 2 being dlc or not included at all or weirdly being considered it’s own series even if it does make it to base roster I just don’t know how likely this’ll be

-in terms of “‘new stuff that’s for sure not making it” Gqux (I’m shortening all the Us sorry) would be cool to see but it’s still not fully out and it’ll probably be out ONCE this game is close to release, so sadly it probably doesn’t have a shot of being even dlc but there’s at least next game! The new Rayearth show also definitely up there in “better luck next time” as we still don’t have anymore news on that, but the girls were in T and 30 back to back so I think they can sit out for awhile

-Gridman has not been confirmed to be one of the returning units from 30 YET but I think it be criminal not to bring it back if only for the fact they could use the sequel Dyanzenon as a paired unit with it- though I haven’t seen either but I do hope Dyanzenon is used at all cause logically it makes the most sense after Gridman got into SRW at all

-It’s too early to know if they’re being back arma AGAIN but I think arc should be standalone and we can go another game without the big 3 needing to be a thing as getter wasn’t even in X, interestingly we haven’t seen mazinger or OG gundam rep in this trailer but they probably will be here as they’re more of stables then getter sadly. I think it be more interesting if a new big 3 was formed out of other protags especially if arc and gwitch decide to go with a theme of the new generation passing the torch though I think T already did something similar? I have a lot of general wants for how arc is going to be in this game but the main hope is that for this game ryoma can stay out for once (if they make him a enemy unit as emperor I’ll be GIGGLING but I understand completely if they don’t even touch the end of arc)

-Finally to end off with my delusional hopes ✨ if shin jeeg or big o return at all I’ll be excited. I know it’s not happening, please don’t make fun of me I know even jeeg being dd doesn’t mean shit, but I’m putting these here anyways as they’re my pipe dream roster hopes.

Who's hyped for Pokémon Legends Z-A !?

ME !!!

On February 27th is the Pokémon Day, since it was the release of the first Pokémon games. On this occasion, like every year, Gamefreak and The Pokémon Company are doing a Pokémon Presents to talk about the future of Pokémon. In this one specifically, we wanted one thing in particular : More informations about the latest game they announced : Pokémon Legends Z-A. It has been almost a year since we didn't have anything related to these games supposedly releasing at the end of the year. And they finally show us some images and videos of this game, who will most likely come out in November, just like Sword/Shield & Scarlet/Violet.

And of course ... I've wanted to do a drawing so badly ! So there it is !

I'm gonna be honest, I didn't like the design of the protagonists at first, but they started to grow on me.

I used one of the shots we had from the trailer as the background.

I think it is also a good occasion for me to talk about this trailer and what I believe would be in this game, my opinion, etc...

of all ; The Protagonists :

Like I said earlier, I didn't like their designs at first, and I can't really explain why unfortunately... But now, I really like them ! It's not like the best protagonist design (I think Rosa is the best of them all), but it's really cool ! And the coat in the colors of Zygarde shows us how important it's gonna be. Probably a replacement to Pokémon Z that we were suppose to have but never came ? Who knows yet !

The other thing about them : Why do they look like Professor Sycamore and our Mom from X and Y ?! I think we all pointed that detail out ! Does that mean something ? Or is it just a random design choice ? Honestly, I think it would be very interesting if Professor Sycamore was our dad. After all, we never have a dad in any games, except Gen 3 games with our dad being a Gym Leader. Other than this game, our father is completely absent ! So having our protagonist like, following their father's steps and research would be very interesting in my opinion !

But I'm probably overthinking things a little too much out there, but I really think that could add some potential to the game, especially after Scarlet and Violet with Arven being the Professor's child.

2. The Rivals ; Urbain and Taunie :

Not gonna lie, I almost did a fanart of one of the protagonists, and the other being the rival, but I don't really like their outfits that much. However, I really love their hair color ! The tye'n'dye between blonde and pink is really cute !

However, they seem to just be a recolored face of the Protagonist. Okay I guess ?...

I've heard that most fans wanted to be able to choose their rivals, which will be something new to the game. Frankly, I would love to chose Taunie, she is really cute ! But I highly doubt it. They will most likely do it like X and Y since it is in Kalos and have the rival of the opposite gender as your character, which means I will most likely get Urbain... I actually don't mind ! It's just that I find Taunie cuter.

3. AZ is back, but look completely different ?! And Eternal Flower Floette is there too ! :

I am actually not really surprised that AZ is back. However, what triggered me was his design : He looks so different ! Guys, here's what happiness can do to a man !

Now that he is forever with his companion Floette, he is the happiest man ever ! And it even reflects in his design.

What I love about it : the patched tissues. This detail shows how hard it is for AZ to find clothes his size. Like come on guys, the dude is over 10 feet ! Of course it is hard for him to find clothes his size, so he had to sue multiple of them together to have the right size ! This is really an amazing detail to his design, and I really want to draw him in this refreshing design one of these days !

Also, the fact that he seems to have some sort of orthesis on his left leg, and that he needs a cane to walk : What happened to him ? Is it because of his height, or something else ? I'm actually curious.

4. The Starter Choice :

The Starters were revealed as well in this trailer. Turns out our starter choice will be between :

Chikorita

Tepig

Totodile

And I have one question to this : WHY ?!

Why are there 2 starters from the same generation in this one ? I thought they were gonna do like Legends Arceus, with 3 starters from 3 different generations, but no. 2 from Johto and 1 from Unova... But if I'm being honest, I think it's because we almost never had the occasion to see them again. Like since HeartGold and SoulSilver, they were never an option, until Legends Arceus with Cyndaquil. I guess that would be the reason why ?

Even the theorists were wrong ! There were multiple possibilities for them, and most of them were from the trailers of the second DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet !

Treecko, Tepig and Squirtle Snivy, Fennekin and Totodile

Of course the one I didn't believe would have been true from these 2 images would have been the second one : If we follow the same logic as Legends Arceus, no starter from the generation would have been an option, so Fennekin is off the board. However, for the rest, that actually makes sense. But I have to admit that I am happy that Squirtle didn't make it. He already has a Mega and a Gigantamax. And since there is a possibility for the starters to have a Mega as well, it eliminates Squirtle and the Gen 1 Starters. I guess it also eliminates Treecko and Gen 3, but anyways.

In these 2 screens however, one of the appearing starters ends up as a choice : Tepig for the first and Totodile for the second.

Another Starter Trio rumor was : *Treecko *Tepig *Sobble

I don't remember where it came from, but then again, only one was right.

And of course the other option was the same generations as Legends Arceus, but with the other starters, so :

Chikorita *Tepig *Popplio

Snivy *Litten *Totodile

And it almost ended that way, but nope ! 2 from Johto so we broke the logic !

Also I truly believe that, just like Legends Arceus, they will have a Regional Variant that will add a new type (or change it's Fighting Type in Emboar's case). Having a Meganium and a Feraligatr with a secondary type would be amazing. They deserve it after all since Typhlosion got it.

There is one detail that caught our eye that really makes us believe that this is gonna be the case. When they show a bit of the battle mode, we saw "Disarming Voice" in Chikorita's set of attacks. However, Chikorita does not learn Disarming Voice through level up moves, which would mean this "attack" has been added to his level-up moves, and most likely hinting to a Grass-Fairy Meganium, and I'm all here for it ! Especially since Primarina is the only starter with Fairy as its secondary type, that would be so cool !

I don't really know what secondary type Emboar and Feraligatr could have, but Gamefreak could actually do something "funny" and make Emboar a Fire/Ghost Type, which will make 3 starters with that dual typing in a row, just like they did with Gen 3/4/5 with Blaziken/Infernape/Emboar. This might be turning into a running gag. Oh Dear...

/ OR ! /

They could remain the same, but have a Mega Evolution that adds a secondary type to them. I don't know honestly, but if one of the options does not happen in the game, then it's purely wasted and it would be nonsense if Gamefreak don't do that !...

5. The Graphics... :

I put the dots because I know where this is going... A lot of fans are angry, and keep saying that this is ugly. And I would actually have to disagree a bit on that. Of course it's not perfect and we are expecting more from such a notorious and rich game company as Gamefreak, but you cannot say that this looks worse than Scarlet and Violet. It looks better than Gen 9. Yes it could be better, but it is actually fairly decent. I just hope it's not gonna end ugly since it is the same motor as Scarlet and Violet.

One thing that actually "bothers" me : The Pokémon themselves.

Yes Scarlet and Violet was ugly, but if there was something that was absolutely stunning, it was the graphics/designs of the Pokémon.

Look at Charizard's design evolution from Gen 8 to Gen 9 ! It looks astonishing ! ♥

It looks like a real dragon (yes I know it's not a dragon but Idgaf) ! It looks so menacing and all !

Yeah I'm all for the design evolution, except maybe one Pokémon...

Honestly, I don't know how to feel about Venusaur. I understand the change and it would have been amazing, if he didn't look that ... derpy ?...

It's just the face that's bothering me and I'm really conflicted but anyways...

What I meant by that, is that I hope the designs of the Pokémon doesn't get downgraded after what they did with the models from Scarlet and Violet. The game may be ugly itself, but the Pokémon models were mesmerizing ! ♥

6. The apparently new Battle Mode :

The way of battling Pokémon seems to be closer to the Animé this time. Like apparently we can DODGE attacks ?! That would be so cool ! But then again it also depends how it will be executed in the game. And I hope that this is not gonna be something like "When you click Dodge the Pokémon will have a 100% chance of dodging", otherwise it will completely ruin the game as well as this new "experience"...

Will Donna die?

I have been playing with this possibility in my head and in my FF for quite a while now because I think it'd be a poetic redemption arc for both, Donna and Carmy.

If she dies, and this time he gets to bury the hatchet before she passes, unlike his previous experience with Michael because he already learned the lesson the hard way. And in that case, Carmy WILL NOT continue with her toxic legacy, aka →THE NEW BERZATTOS.

and part of my theory (couldn't find the comments) is that her helping The Bear is based on a potential trust fund Carmy (and Sugar who co-owns The Bear) can inherit after her death,

assuming she dies after they reconcile, which I 100% think they will in S4.

But what I just noticed are these 2 letters on the side of the box he's carrying out of her house. If those letters are DD and if we add up the fact that he has his neutral funeral face on (aka sad face) we could infer he's cleaning up Donna's stuff after her death. Right?

Personally, IDC, as long as Carmy and Sugar are OK, which IK they will be but if Carmy is carrying her belongings with that face, I can connect the dots like this pretty effortlessly and come up with this theory/prediction. As you know if you follow my meta tag #Gingerpovs, the only predictions I care about nailing are the Sydcarmy ones, the rest IDGAF about, and IK that Sydcarmy is endgame with or without Donna, so I'm cool regardless, but I will start mentally preparing for this potential turn of events because it would NOT be a stretch and we already have evidence pointing to this development so I wouldn't be surprised if it happened.

I'm trying to watch Athena P lore videos because god are they entertaining and so funny. But here's some shows/movies I would love a lore deep dive on and why:

Inspector gadget reboot - the 'romance' between penny and Talon was so confusing yet endearing. Also, loving how chief Quimby just Disguises himself just to give gadget a misson

Total drama - not only was it a huge fan of gross out humor and has our overlord chris mclain, it literally introduced me to the ' bad boy x good girl' trope before ripping it out and taking a character ( who was literally perfect with another) and forcing them together due to aesthetics.

Transformers: robots in Disguise ( 2015) or Transformers prime - two shows that have fanbases debating ( seriously), each saying why each respective show is better. But other than that, both are fine for what they are and gave me two crushes that I hold dearly.

Mia and me - a fairy show that's not only animated but live action? With the main character having an ability to talk to unicorns? And with one of her bullies DISCOVERING HER SECRET LIFE??

Ben and hollies little kingdom - super wholesome and I love how the humans coinside with the fairies

Max and ruby - there's a tiktoker who made a whole series on why ruby was annoying. Need I say more?

Trollhunters and the spin off 3below - honestly from what I remember, I loved the stakes of the show and how cool the Armour the main character had. Regarding the spin off, loving how the bully I think was into the alien girl

Max steel ( not the 2000s one. sorry) - Max having to come up with the most unbelievable excuses as to why he has to go is cliche but also kind of funny? And the fact that the company Max's dad works for has lore as well is kind of interesting

Dino squad - I actually remembered this show through a cringe compilation of all things and had to add it. From the theme song, to the plotines, to the fact that I had a crush on Laruzo even though he was obviously queer coded ( his Dino form was cool though)

Jem and the holograms - the I am a giant song from the misfits lives in my head rent free. Also, jem practicing trying to reveal to that one guy only from him to yell at her is funny to me

Lolirock - same with jem as revolution is iconic as well as the villians. Plus, why is was eventually taken off

The tinker bell movies - forgot I was supposed to mention movies as well ( sorry). But I love them and how the fairies each have their own abilities ( as well as different kinds). From pirate fairies to winter fairies, it's really cool.

Barbie: a fashion fairytale - I love all barbie movies equally but this...this just takes the cake. What other movie will you see ken making a child cry, fairies with attitude, rotting dresses, and a roller skating aunt?

Zoom (2015) - the trailer showing a scene of the main character and her character arguing is honestly what made me want to watch it ( I haven't but I'm planning on it)

Super hero squad - kid me was laughing my butt off when falcon married his bird. So...

The little prince movie - I didn't even read the book but when I saw that the old man had died, I was emotionally devastated, especially after listening to all his stories which inspired the main character to go find the prince UGHHH

The book of life - is it cliche? Yes. Is it like coco? Yes. Do I like that in the end, the main boy has to sing a guitar version of creep to calm down a bull? Absolutely yes!

Epic - josh hutcherson, beyonce, Amanda Seyfried, Johnny knoxville, an enemies to lovers storyline, a snail, a royal guard having a love for the queen, the enemies being bugs, and ANDD a nerdy dad. That's it.

Rise of the guardians - I absolutely love it followed jack and his arc of being seen and when he finally is, the kid and him are just so excited! Also, the fact that a lot of people are simping for the Easter bunny is a testament to how many people will call anyone sexy.

Daniel spellbound - wanted to add this because there's an awesome creator ( cough cough @bonkalore) who's made an amazing au out of this show and I wanted to see what you thought of it and your theories

Bonus options ( just random one's I think could fit): the rainbow fairies series, Lego friends, the complicated life of Claudia Christina Cortez, sonic underground, drama or sisters ( but any book by rainia would be great), Junie b Jones, stoked, barney, goddess girls, glitter force ( that's what I remember it as), invisible sister, a monster in Paris, Maya and miguel, and Martha)

Q: What is this? A: A college dating sim set in a non-canonical alternate reality where everyone is supposed to be a human. If you haven't played volume 12 yet, don't worry about it! Or do - I'm statistically unlikely to be your mom

Q: Can I play this by itself? A: Yep! Just go to the options menu, scroll all the way down to the bottom, and click "unlock bonus game" - it will then be available at any time from the main menu. It will also appear on the main menu once you beat Volume 12.

Q: Do I have to play Friendsim 2 to play this? A: No! Although we recommend encountering it naturally as you play the game (IYKYK and if not you'll see!), but if you want you can unlock it from the main menu as soon as you install Friendsim 2!

Q: Does playing from the main menu change stuff? A: Oooh yeah! If you play via the main menu you're accessing a special version of TechniColor Heart designed to act as a stand-alone experience. It changes some of the framing and adds a LOT of new content!

Q: But... is there sex? A: Actually, yes... it's not explicit (it fades to black), but you've got the option of doin' the ol' freaky-deaky with most of the romanceable characters. There's also a non-sexual romance outcome for each character, if you wanna take things slow.

Q: Okay, but who can I date? A: Chixie, Lynera, Skylla, Mallek, Lanque, Vikare Stand-alone mode adds Xefros and Marsti Keep in mind everyone responds differently to how you act towards them - there's no one-size-fits-all formula!

Q: Is there non-romance stuff to do? A: Yeah! A few of your friends could use some help navigating life, and if you play on stand-alone mode there's a whole plot involving a murder and the sins of the past!

During The Scene Where Mr. Wolf Is Driving A Poorly Stabled Blue Car, It Says 5 Years Later On It.

This Is The Part That Bothers Me: HOW DID THE BAD GUYS & DIANE NOT AGE?!?! (Yeah, Misty Luggins & Tiffany Fluffit Aged, But Why Didn't The Animals Age??)

This Could Mean That The Bad Guys 2 Takes Place In 2028! Since The First Bad Guys Movie Took Place In 2022, & After They're Released, 2023. So If We Add That:

2. Mr. Shark's Voice

During The Scene Where Misty Luggins Is Possibly Spying The Bad Guys By Being An Undercover Cop, Mr. Shark's Voice Is Slightly High-Pitched When He Says This Line:

"Panic Ok, I'm A Panicker!!"

I Have No Idea Why Shark Sounded Like That, But That Voice Was Weird As It Could Get.

Regarding your Nosferatu post, Eggers is known for being fairly homophobic in how he portrays gay relationships. The lighthouse represented homosexuality as this repressed, awful thing and I don't wanna see gayness be turned into evil vampires like some sort of evil desire. I don't see him doing it anyways bc he's quite rigid in his own beliefs (including stuff about race too)

On that front I'm afraid the deck is already a little stacked in the 'icky gay goings-on' department if Knock really is already long-distance hot for Orlok; but then, so is Ellen, and there's a Random Naked Nubile Girl on a Horse scene, and just a lot of general full-on horniness in many directions. I hesitate to clutch pearls over the presence of fucked up sexuality everywhere--especially in the context of something trying to be classically gothic, and double especially in a climate where So Much of media is increasingly wont to be self-censored or sanitized into blandness. I am very fine with Fucked Up and Perverse happenings on principle. My monsterfucker badge is worn proudly, as is my 'Let Gothic Horror Be Fucked Up' badge.

That said.

Yeah, the fact that the only non-straight hint I can think of in his track record is the almost-kiss dance scene in The Lighthouse (plus a side of Dafoe's character comparing Pattinson's eyes to a lady's) is not a fantastic sign for el gee bee tee elements. Yet even while the obvious 'lolll Thomas gets cucked because he doesn't satisfy Ellen she's 2 hot and goth 4 u loser' hints in the trailer and implications in the script leak indicate him just going straight to full Francis fanficification with Ellen and Orlok, I don't think it's explicitly a homophobic product. There may be some quote or info floating around somewhere that stamps Eggers as more staunchly anti-gay--and if so, please point me to it--but I think in this case it just adds up to 1) Elbowing Thomas out of the way for his OTP and 2) Horniness for everyone, not just the girls

That also being said.

The racist/xenophobic shit didn't need to be doubled down on in twenty-twenty-four, Bobby Egg. You almost did a smart move with the whole 'No, wait! They aren't working for Orlok! Look, see, they're local vampire hunters and taking care of other undead!' thing. Cool!

Why did you immediately have to throw in the g slur and declare them all stinky-dirty-mega masculine while Thomas quails over how much more manly they are than him and also they steal his horses because we simply HAVE to keep the ye olde 'land of thieves' line ~accurate~?

//Honestly, at this point I'm exhausted trying to keep up with all of these games. Kodaka won't rest until he puts a Danganronpa spin on every genre out there.

//My face definitely lit up the moment I saw Komatsuzaki's art style, and I'm glad that they're opting to go back to the more visual novel aspect of it.

//It makes me laugh because Last Defense Academy looks like it SHOULD be a Danganronpa spinoff. They're trapped in a school, they have a mascot character overseeing them.

//Rain Code didn't really have this problem (I say problem, but it's not really a problem, just something worth noting) because even if there were some stark similarities between it and Danganronpa, Kanai Ward as a setting, the interactions between the characters, the supernatural element of the story, as well as the overall theme and style of that game made it stand out as its own thing that could be loosely linked to Danganronpa.

And that's the idea that your choices can affect which of the main characters die and which one's live.

//Like the typical DR setting, there are 16 students including the protagonist, and the trailer states that you need to defend the school from the unknown assailants for 100 days. This makes me think that the game is taking a Fire Emblem/Until Dawn route, and there will be multiple endings to it, like one where all the students die, one where they all live, one where certain students die and it affects the others, etc.

//If that IS the case, then that's pretty stellar for what Kodaka and his team have put out so far. Danganronpa may be a sensation, but it's simple in practice and execution. It's the character writing that carries it; not the gameplay.

//Rain Code improved upon the gameplay aspect a lot, but even then, it never went as far as this.

//Unfortunately, despite all I've said I can't give a full opinion of it until the game actually comes out, and/or we see more gameplay footage and information of it. The stuff that they showed in the teasers isn't an awful lot to go off of.

//Also, whenever this comes out, there's a chance that, depending on whether I like it enough, I MIGHT add the characters to the blog. HOWEVER, if I DO, then it's probably only going to happen if I decide to do a Phase 4.

//Originally, I only planned to have Phase 3 be the end of the blog's main story, but for all we know, depending on how far this goes, it could very well just serve as the end of the Zetsubou saga. I don't really like dragging these sorts of things out, but this blog and it's story got way more popular than even I was expecting, and I'm always happy to deliver for you guys.

Fangs and I have lived together for about a month now, and in that month I’ve managed to hide the fact that I fucking hate my body. No one knew and I was too worried about being judged to tell anyone. I knew deep down that Fangs would never judge me, I mean we’ve been dating for three years now, but the voices always win in the end. So that’s why I spend a lot of time in the bathroom whenever Fangs goes out without me. 

“I’ll be back in a bit, babe!” Fangs called. He was going out with Pea for a job with the Serpents. 

“Okay! Be careful!” I called back. Ironic I’m telling him to be careful when I sit at home and throw everything up. 

“I will, love you!” He said. 

“Love you too!” I said and heard the door close behind him. I waited a bit to make sure Fangs wouldn’t walk back in because he forgot something. The last time that happened I pretended to shower so he wouldn’t hear me. Once I was sure he wouldn’t come back I got off our bed and walked into the bathroom. I pulled out the scale and took a deep breath before I stepped on it. I closed my eyes and tried my best not to shake. I took another calming breath and slowly peeled my eyes open to look at the horrid number. 130 pounds… I sighed, at least I lost two pounds since yesterday. I didn’t really eat anything yesterday. Or the day before. Or the day before that. In fact, I couldn’t really remember the last time I ate a proper meal in which I didn’t throw up a few hours later while Fangs was asleep. It was probably a year ago? Someone at school made a comment about me that I brushed off in the moment, but it was like a silent switch flipped in my brain. After that, I went home and stared at the mirror, noticing all the imperfections about myself. That was the day I decided to lose weight. When normal methods weren’t working, I turned to the extreme. It was the only thing that gave me results… It didn’t help that I started comparing myself to people Fangs talked to. The girls were way prettier than I am. The boys were skinnier than me. I couldn’t wrap my head around the fact that Fangs chose me out of everyone. I couldn’t think of any reasons that Fangs stayed with me all this time, or even why he asked me to move in with him after my trailer burnt down. Don’t get me wrong, I’m so happy with Fangs, but something in my head just isn’t on the same page as my heart. 

I sighed and looked down at the number once again. 130 pounds. It was below the average weight of my age group, but 120 or even 110 would be way better. I stepped off the scale and looked at myself in the mirror. 

Look at your thighs, they’re so fat. Don’t forget that huge stomach of yours. Did you see that girl he was talking to at the bar last week? Now she was perfectly skinny. The perfect body. 

I sighed and ran my fingers over my body. Fat. That was all I could feel. I was fucking fat. No matter how little I eat, or how much I worked out. I will always be fat. Fat and fucking ugly. I would never be perfect like those people Fangs talk to. I took off my clothes and looked in the mirror again. I stared at my stomach. Even though the scale says I got smaller, to me it looks like my stomach has grown another twenty pounds. My stomach growled as I lightly touched it. I hated the hunger pains, but the feeling of emptiness was too addictive. I love feeling like I finally was in control of my body. I moved my hands down to my thighs and felt the small scars that were slightly raised. When I first started that’s how I would punish myself when the workouts didn’t work, or if I gained another pound or two. That didn’t last long since Toni found out and told Fangs. I wasn’t too attached to the cutting, so that was easy to stop. The sharp pain as the razor glided through my skin, pulling beads of crimson up through the cut, wasn’t as good as the starving. It didn’t make me feel better like not eating. I shook my head and glanced over at the toilet. I’ve become very acquainted with it. My head was shoved inside it at least twice a day. Sure my stomach was empty, but I knew I could still get some stuff out of me. I kneeled down and gently lifted the lid. I stared down into the toilet and took a few breaths. Throwing up on an empty stomach always hurt, but it was worth it to lose those few pounds. I opened my mouth and took my pointer finger into my mouth. I slowly pushed it to the back of my throat and gagged once I found the spot. I was good at not pulling my finger out when I gagged now, so I just kept pushing on it. My stomach was screaming in pain as it tightened with each gag. It took a few minutes, but eventually, I felt the burning creep up my throat. I pulled my finger out and leaned over the toilet. I watched as the bile flew into the water and already felt a little lighter. It wasn’t much, but every little bit helps. I took a few breaths to recover and quickly pushed my finger back inside my mouth. Once again it took a bit, but I eventually threw up more bile. It still wasn’t enough though. I kept going and going until my head started to spin. I felt really dizzy and weak, but it was working. I felt lighter. I kept going until black dots invaded my vision. I fell back on my ass and held my head. 

“J-Jus-st a b-bi-it mo-ore…” I slurred to myself. I tried to get back up so I could finish, but I just fell to the floor more and my vision turned completely black… 

*Fangs POV* 

I walked back into the trailer with a smile as I carried some Pop’s for me and Y/N. I placed the bags and drinks on the coffee table and noticed Y/N wasn’t there. Must be in our room with her laptop or something. 

“Babe, I’m back! I brought Pop’s.” I called but got no answer. 

“Baby?” I called again, thinking she couldn’t hear me. Still nothing. 

“Y/N, you asleep or something?” I said as I walked towards our bedroom. She wasn’t there. I furrowed my brows and wondered if maybe she went out with Toni or something. I pulled out my phone and called her. I heard her phone ring and followed it to the bathroom. I quickly hung up and walked over to the bathroom. The shower wasn’t running so she should have heard me. 

“Y/N? Baby? You in there?” I asked as I gently knocked. No answer. My heart started pounding faster and I quickly opened the door. I stopped in shock as I stared inside the bathroom. Y/N was lying on the floor, looking unnaturally skinny and there was vomit in the toilet. I quickly rushed over to her and checked her pulse. The small thump from her neck made me sigh in relief. I carefully pushed my hands under her and lifted her up. I gasped when I felt how light she was. How did I not notice how much weight she lost? How did I not notice how her bones were starting to be visible through her skin. I shuddered and felt tears pushing themselves to the surface. How the hell could I be such a shitty boyfriend and not realize the love of my life was putting herself in so much danger. I carefully made my way to our room and gently laid her down. I grabbed one of my shirts and carefully put it on her, she was drowning in it. I tucked her in so she wouldn’t get cold and checked that she was breathing again. I sighed and left to deal with the bathroom. Once I was done cleaning I grabbed her some water and placed it on the nightstand. I pulled up a chair and sat next to her. I stoked her hair and tried my hardest to think of what could have made her do this, or even when she started. I blamed myself for not seeing anything different. I believed every smile Y/N always put on. Every laugh she made. How the hell did I not see anything!? I tried to calm myself down, but I was so angry with myself. Maybe even a very small part of me was mad at her for not coming to me, but I pushed that away. I shouldn’t be mad at her, she needs me more than ever. I grabbed my phone and decided to call Toni and see if she knew anything about this. 

“Hey Fangs, what’s up?” She answered after the second ring. 

“Did you notice anything off about Y/N lately?” I asked, getting right to the point. 

“Uh, no? Why? What’s up?” She asked, worry clear in her voice. 

“I came home and she was passed out in the bathroom with vomit in the toilet. She’s really fucking skinny Toni…” I said, feeling a tear involuntarily fall down my cheek. 

“What? How skinny?” She asked. 

“Like I can see her ribs starting to poke out.” I answered and she gasped. 

“W-What? H-How?” She asked and I sighed. 

“I don’t know, T. I didn’t notice anything different…” I said quietly. 

“How? Have you guys not… ya know?” She asked and my eyes widened. 

“We’ve both been busy, but every time she’s just wanted to ya know, please me…” I said and felt my stomach turn slightly. She’s been hiding this for so long… 

“Shit Fangs, are you at the hospital? Want me and Pea to come by?” She asked and I shook my head. 

“I just have my bike and I-I don’t know what the hell they’ll do to her. I’m scared to take her there. What if they say she’s dying, or they lock her up, or I don’t know…” I sighed. 

“Fangs if she’s really bad you’ve gotta take her to the hospital, they’ll help her.” She said, gently. 

“Toni I can’t, what if she never forgives me for that? Clearly, she’s been hiding this for a while I don’t want her to hate me…” I said, fully crying by now. 

“Listen, Fangs, you wanna help her, right?” She asked with a sigh. 

“Yes…” I whispered. 

“Then you gotta take her. I’ll call Pea and we can use his truck, okay?” She asked and I shook my head again. 

“Can’t I just wait till she wakes up? They’re gonna keep her there for who knows how long.” I said and she sighed. 

“I don’t think you should wait. What if this isn’t the first time she’s passed out?” She asked and my eyes widened. I didn’t think about that. 

“J-Just let me wait till she wakes up first. Let me talk to her.” I begged and she sighed. 

“Fine, but you call me after, you got it?” She asked. 

“I promise.” I said and she sighed again. 

“I’m still calling Pea and letting him know what’s going on.” She said and I sighed. 

“Fine, just keep him from barging in, I don’t wanna scare her.” I said and she agreed. We said our goodbyes and hung up. 

I sat there in silence as I just stared at Y/N. I couldn’t stop thinking about how awful I am for not noticing anything. She hid it really well, which hurt. I had stopped crying but didn’t bother wiping my face. I just held her hand and stared at her. That’s when she started shifting. She slowly opened her Y/E/C and looked around for a moment before they landed on my dark brown ones. Neither of us moved or made a sound, just stared at the other. 

“I’m sorry…” She mumbled after a moment. She looked down and a tear rolled down her cheek. 

“Never. I mean never, do that again.” I choked out as my tears returned. Y/N looked up silently and reached up with her other hand to wipe away my tears. 

“You shouldn’t cry over me, I’m not worth it…” She whispered as she continued to caress my cheek. I felt the anger return and pulled back from her. 

“No Y/N! Don’t you ever think that! You’re more than worth it, you’re my perfect girl. I don’t understand why you even thought you needed to lose weight in the first place, but you’ve always been perfect! You’re beautiful, funny, caring, and amazing! I love you, I always have. I can’t stand seeing you do this to yourself when you don’t need to. I saw what was in the toilet, when was the last time you ate?” I asked and she had more tears falling down her gorgeous face. 

“I-I don’t know. Yesterday at lunch? I don’t know. I-I…” She started crying harder. I pulled her in for a gentle hug and stroked her hair. 

“How long have you been doing this babe?” I whispered. 

“A-A ye-year…” She answered between sobs. My heart broke and I sighed. I held her for a bit longer and gently pulled her back once she calmed down a bit. 

“Baby, you need to eat and actually keep it down. You need to get better, Y/N. Please.” I said and she shook her head. 

“I-I can’t! Looking at all those people that you talk to, they’re so much prettier than me! They’re skinnier, hotter, cooler, everything! Those people at school made me realize that I’m never going to be like them. I’m never going to be good enough for you…” She said, sobbing into her hands. My eyes widened as I stared at her. Who the fuck said that to her? She’s always been perfect, my everything… I gently pulled her hands away and tried to catch her eyes, but she avoided me. 

“Y/N, look at me, please?” I asked quietly. She looked up and she looked so broken. 

“Y/N Y/L/N, I love you more than anything. I always have and I always will. No one in this damn world could ever compare to you, baby. You’ve always been my number one and I have never even thought of another person. Guy or girl. You don’t need to change yourself just because some jealous bitch said something to you. I will always love you no matter what.” I said and she sobbed. 

“Do you mean it?” She asked in a broken whisper. 

“Every word baby. I promise you that I love you with every piece of my heart. I just want you to get better right now. You passed out Y/N, do you know how scared I was?” I asked quietly. 

“I’m sorry… I’m so sorry…” She cried and I pulled her into my chest. 

“Shhh, it’s okay baby. You don’t have to be sorry okay? We’re gonna get you some help and get you better, okay?” I asked and she nodded. 

“Now, I gotta call Toni and tell her you woke up before she and Pea come breaking down the door.” I said and her eyes widened. 

“Y-You told Toni and Pea?” She asked with more tears falling. 

“I called to see if Toni noticed anything with you, I was so worried Y/N.” I said, caressing her cheek and wiping the tears. She closed her eyes and leaned into my touch. 

“Toni wanted me to take you to the hospital and I know I should have, but I just didn’t want to lose you.” I admitted and she looked up at me. 

“I’m so sorry, Fangs…” She said and I shook my head. 

“You don’t need to be sorry, baby.” I said and kissed her forehead. 

“Now let me call Toni and maybe I can convince her to not take you to the hospital, but you have to eat a bit of the Pop’s I brought home, deal?” I asked and she nodded while taking a shaky breath. 

“I’m not gonna make you eat all of it, but you need to eat at least a little okay? We’ll work on this slowly.” I said and she nodded. 

“O-Okay…” She whispered. I smiled and kissed her head once more before I went to get the food. When I walked back in she was fiddling with her hands. She looked up and I saw her sniff the air subtly. Her stomach growled and I smiled slightly. I walked over and placed the food on her lap, but left the milkshake in the other room. It would be way too heavy for her right now, even if she did love them. 

“I got your favorite, but I think we’re gonna skip the milkshake today and just stick with water, alright?” I asked and she nodded. Her shaky hands took out the burger and fries and gently laid them on the blanket. 

“Alright, I’m gonna sit right here and call Toni and you’re gonna start eating, okay?” I asked and she nodded. I pulled out my phone and called Toni as I watched Y/N slowly start to eat the cold fries. I watched as she put the first one in her mouth and she moaned slightly. I smiled as she continued eating them. 

“Fangs! Is she awake?” Toni answered. 

“Yeah, she’s awake.” I answered and I heard her sigh. 

“Perfect, I’m with Pea and Juggie right now and we have the truck so we’ll be over in a few and we can take her to the hospital.” She said as I heard movement from her side. 

“I don’t think we’re gonna need to take her to the hospital.” I said as I watched her pick up the burger. She took a bite and her eyes rolled to the back of her head. I chuckled and smiled at her. 

“Fangs she passed out, she needs to go to the fucking hospital.” Toni said, slightly annoyed. 

“I think we can deal with this ourselves, T.” I said and she groaned. 

“Seriously? You agreed to take her to the hospital when she woke up.” She said and I sighed. 

“Just come over and see, I promise we got this.” I said and she sighed. 

“Fine, we’re already on our way.” She said and hung up. I hung up and saw Y/N was halfway done with the burger. 

“Slow down babe.” I said with a small chuckle. She blushed and looked over at me. 

“Sorry…” She mumbled and I smiled at her. 

“Don’t be, I know you’re hungry, but like I said we gotta take it slow.” I said and she nodded. 

A few minutes later, our front door was opening. We heard three sets of footsteps coming towards us and Y/N looked scared. I grabbed her hand and gently gave her a reassuring squeeze. The door opened and in walked Toni, Pea, and Jughead. They all looked at Y/N with wide eyes and Toni rushed over to her other side. She pulled her in for a hug, which Y/N returned. 

“Are you crazy? Starving yourself or throwing shit up, whichever. How long has this been going on, huh?” Toni asked and Y/N looked down in shame. 

“Toni, relax. We already talked about it and look she’s already eating.” I said and grabbed Y/N’s hand again. 

“I’m sorry…” Y/N said quietly again. 

“Babe I already told you, you don’t need to be sorry.” I said. 

“No Fangs is right, sorry Y/N/N, I’m just worried.” Toni said, taking a seat on the bed next to her. 

“We all are.” Jones said. She looked up at Pea and Jughead and they each smiled at her. 

“Yeah, so who ass do I need to beat for starting this shit?” Pea asked and Toni rolled her eyes. Y/N laughed and I smiled at her. 

“If I’m honest I don’t even remember who said something…” She said and blushed slightly. 

“I just know it was about a year ago and that’s when I started looking at myself differently. I just hate how I look and constantly compare myself to everyone else and…” She trailed off. 

“Wait, that’s when you started cutting, were you doing this too?” Toni asked and Y/N shook her head. 

“No, I started after you guys helped with that…” She said with a guilty tone. 

“Oh Y/N…” Toni said and pulled her in for another hug. 

“I’m so-” 

“Nope, don’t you dare apologize.” Toni said, cutting her off. 

“Yeah, we’re sorry for not noticing anything.” Jones said and Y/N shook her head. 

“I hid it, there was no way you guys could have known. I mean I was wearing clothes that were a bit too big for me so you guys wouldn’t see my weight change.” She said and we all looked at each other. That explains a bit. 

“We’ll that’s fucking over, let’s go get you some more food.” Pea said and she shook her head. 

“I’m kind of full.” She said and I placed the rest of the food on the nightstand. 

“That’s okay, like I said, slow.” I said and she nodded with a small smile. 

“Fangs is right, we gotta take this slow, but we’re all here for you and we’re gonna help every step of the way.” Toni said with a smile. Pea and Jones also nodded and Y/N teared up. 

“You guys are the best and I’m really so-” 

“Stop apologizing Y/N/N, or I’m gonna kick your ass.” Pea said and she laughed a real genuine happy laugh. We all smiled at her and I gently squeezed her hand. This might be a hard and long road ahead, but we would all support her every step. I think she finally realized that she’s amazing and if not we would all be here to remind her.

Dungeon Meshi / Delicious in Dungeon

AKA, cooking, with world building. And dragons.

Quick overview for the uninitiated: Delicious in Dungeon (or Dungeon Meshi) is an anime following a small group of adventurers in a vaguely first-edition Dungeons and Dragons setting (except also very much not DnD, despite the pun) as they attempt to find one of their lost party members. To ensure they survive without money, and to indulge a kink of their leader, they resort to hunting the monsters of the dungeon for food. The show is very heavily influenced, to the point of affectionate parody, by cooking anime, with stillshots of the final meals and the original manga including mock-recipe and nutrient maps on said stillshots.

I didn’t watch it for several months because Tumblr’s manga community had presented the show as being one of those shows where everyone is queer and neurodivergent and it’s all about their struggles and love conquering all and I was just like “that’s cool, you have fun, kids”. I can't remember why I decided to watch it - I think I saw a Netflix trailer and decided I was bored enough to try it. But it is not that.

I mean, don’t get me wrong. Two characters are almost definitely autistic, one of whom is probably a lesbian, and the closest thing she has to a love interest is maybe bisexual, but honestly, despite being fifty years old, she’s probably too young to really know. Half-elves, man, they’re problematic. But none of that is the point of the show. In fact, it's mostly entirely platonic the whole way through. At most, the show is about self-acceptance, personal sacrifice, and the difference between what you want and what you need.

Also good nutrition.

There are a few things I love about it, one of which is my personal kink, which is worldbuilding and poking at the strangeness of a world until it makes sense. The characters are products of their environments and backgrounds, with prejudices and conceits that make sense to not only their backstories but also their respective ages (which is further problematised by their varying maturity rates and race profiles). The world itself is an evolving character, created by a flawed and (I suspect, haven’t finished the manga yet) sympathetic villain. It’s so juicy and good.

I also love (most of) the characters themselves and how they interact. With my favourite, of course, being the emotionally repressed father of three that looks like a fourteen year old kid.

Chilchuck is everything I love about the series in one character. He’s so complicated. He’s a half-foot, which is the equivalent of a halfling, and therefore always looks very young and cute, to the point that even half of the main characters see him as a child. However, because half-foots are the shortest lived race, he’s actually the equivalent of a fifty-something. Add to this that half-foots do legitimately seem to use teen vernacular out of habit, no matter how goddamn done they are with these frikking kids around them. Add to this that he became a married father of two when he was still the equivalent of a teenager, was immediately thrust into a toxic work environment where he was confronted with the fact his whole race is mostly considered greedy scum-sucking thieves at least positive and outright monster-bait at most positive…! ADD TO THIS that he is a self-sacrificing idiot that would rather the whole world—including his family—think he’s a vile, narcissistic, cheating coward than admit even to himself that he just can’t handle seeing people he cares about hurt and is trying to keep them out of trouble the only way he can.

And he’s the main character with probably the least amount of screentime, it absolutely kills me!

There are a few things I don’t love, however.

I don’t love Senshi. The dwarf hermit that enables the story by being an essentially dungeon-native with a love of cooking. The story starts off with him being the all-knowing, down-to-earth, reliable old man, which rubbed me the wrong way because he was also stubborn and self-righteous and the story seemed to be entirely on his side. But in the story’s defence, it does poke and prod at him, and showcase his prejudices, but at the end of the first season (and I think halfway through the story) I still mostly just tolerate him.

I watched in English, and… look. Look.

This is one of the few examples where I think subs not dubs might have worked in its favour.

Normally I don’t agree with that, because dubbers are not given nearly enough credit for their skills. Voice acting is hard, and dubbing even more so. Also, while the Japanese actors may be very good, they are not infallible. Sometimes, the reason you think they’re incredible is because you don’t understand what they’re saying and so can’t tell whether they’re good actors or not.

BUT. In this specific case. I think that last point might have helped.

Because there are long stretches of exposition and cooking narration in this series, told in quite monotone, matter-of-fact ways which are perfect for the character and tone of the series but are not actually that entertaining to listen to. And so I suspect that hiding behind another language may have really helped mask that. There are things that work in written form that just don’t in audio.

I wish the series could spend a bit more time poking at its characters. Especially Chilchuck. Seriously, this man’s instinct when confronted with his own good qualities is to stop moving. I love it so much. Marcille, the half-elf, is interesting to me because of her unique growth rate. Half-elves live to be a thousand, and she’s only fifty. She was still a toddler at thirteen. She thinks of herself as an adult. She sees the twenty-something tall-men (humans) as young teens. As the series goes on, she seems increasingly more like a seventeen year old to me. I want to know how much of that is intentional.

The actual main character, Laios… I want to understand his head more. It’s hard, because he’s clearly autistic and canonically struggles with other people’s feelings, and self-reflection, so in many ways I think he legitimately is as simple as he seems. But because of that, he’s one of the few prophesised kings/chosen ones that I find myself… not rooting for. His instincts entirely revolve around monsters, he doesn’t get humans, and I just… can’t see that working out for a king long-term without some serious infrastructure and look at me getting all political world-building again and I’m just not invested enough in Laios to explore it myself, so I want to see it happen in-series.

But it’s generally so good. If you’ll forgive the pun, it’s meaty and tasty and it’s so good. I think it’s what I needed. Unfortunately, the fandom isn’t what I wanted it to be, so I don't know how much fun I'll have with it outside canon, but I’ll be honest, that’s pretty appropriate for this series.

Sometimes, it’s not about what you want.

Sometimes, you just need to chew on what you need, and keep looking for what you want next.

Probably a good life lesson, all things considered.

PIZZA!!! Glamrock Chica + 9, 12, 28: if there was one thing you could change about this character, whether it be personality or game presence or what have you, what would it be?

9. Could you be roommates with this character?

Yes!! Chica would be the best roommate. Sure, she’d eat all the food in the fridge (and out of the garbage) but I think she would overall be good company.

I can imagine nights in eating pizza and hanging out and evening jogs with her all while she gives fun facts about food and exercise. She might not give the best advice when it comes to eating healthy, but she really means well.

I think she would also be fun to take clothes shopping. She would pick out the craziest styles but somehow the way she matches different pieces of clothing together makes them look good. I could use more stylish clothes anyway so I think she would be the right person to bring.

12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?

She keeps a secret stash of snacks on her person at all times. If she isn’t eating pizza, she has chips, cookies, and other packaged snacks stashed under her casing and in other places around the Pizzaplex.

Nonexistent number 28: if there was one thing you could change about this character, whether it be personality or game presence or what have you, what would it be?

I would add back in her power walk animation from the trailer. I don’t get why they took that out along with her valley girl voice because it makes sense for her attraction. I mean, I’m sure the voice was changed because it would have gotten annoying but I think keeping the walk would have been cool.

What would have been even cooler is if the animatronics started out all walking “normally” and then as the night goes on and they get more dirtied and more affected by the virus, their behavior gets more erratic and aggressive, and their walk styles change. So Chica could start out power walking and then transition to the more zombie-like walk.
