i hate that Soldier Poet King is most people’s only exposure to The Oh Hellos. yes it’s a banger and yes Dear Wormwood is a fantastic album. but please there is so much more. now listen to passerine and theseus and on the mountain tall and lapis lazuli and the lament of eustace scrubb. what do you mean you’re only going to listen to thus only to tyrants and bitter water. grabs you by the shoulders. you are missing out

The Oh Hellos are such a funny band because you’ll be jamming out to one of their most upbeat and cheerful sounding songs and then you start paying attention to the words and you realise that it’s actually really really deep too and it didn’t even once cross your mind that this fun happy song is actually about an abusive relationship

It's probably pretty obvious how Marishas characters represent the king, the soldier and the poet respectively, so this concept has been floating around in my brain for a whileeee but alas it was keyleths new level 20 outfit that inspired me enough to actually do it.
