"fuck pro endos and endos for making systems feel the need to specify that they're traumagenic"
actually i think the strictly dichotomic nature of origin syscourse results in traumagenic systems feeling the need to specify that they're solely traumagenic in order to not get fakeclaimed by anti-endos (who are mistakenly believed to be the "default" state of pwCDDs), a significant amount of whom have a history of saying that pro-endos MUST be faking because there's NO WAY any REAL pwCDD could ACTUALLY support endos.
this could also be supplemented by the fact that said nature of syscourse creates echo chambers that feel inescapable; after all, if you start entertaining other ideas, there is now a moral attachment to that fact, thus marking you as evil and cutting you off from many supposedly "safe" spaces acting as support.
in other words, perhaps it's not the existence of a plural experience outside of DID that should be blamed, but the inability to universally define what a plural experience is—which is the root of syscourse ("are plurality and CDDs a venn diagram or one circle?").
or, in moon terms, maybe stop blaming pro-endos and endos for problems caused by the fact that syscourse is just sending death threats to people because no one can fucking agree on what plurality means. holy fucking shit i need to curate my for you tab better.

You know what Syd & Carmy need?
A good rage fuck MEDIATOR
Tumblr media
And this convo I just had in the comments this great post with @invisiblerambler brought Luca to my mind when I came up with the idea that we all are kinda rooting for Carmy to make progress in therapy, which I'm 100% on board with too, but IRL sometimes that's just not enough, some times we just need a friend that can understand us and we don't have undealt with feelings for or a secret attraction for. Especially someone like Carmy that didn't have that growing up.
Tumblr media
The opposite may also be true IRL. Sometimes our close circle of friends is just not enough and we need to complement it with a good therapist or team of therapists, in some cases.
Life is not one or the other, life is messier. And so are these characters and this show. Right?
I always thought that when Carmy and Richie could really mend their relationship, which I'm sure will happen at some point, that person was gonna be Cousin. Now, after watching this S3 that keeps growing more and more on me as I rewatch its pivotal scenes, I'm having my doubts about that, simply because he has his own personal demons to deal with and, just like Carmy, he's not great at it. They are more alike than they think.
Whereas, as I mentioned here, Luca represents Carmy's healed version. That's why Storer brought him back at this point of Carmy's story. He is needed.
IMO: The bringer of light role, that he will play in Syd's story, as I elaborated in → here in the bonus track, will actually in a case of classic Storer mirroring, be the same role he will play in Carmy's story at this point of his redemption arc. I'm sure.
And Luca will be doing that for both at the same time, by being THE MEDIATOR between the two because he already knows Carmy and will get to know Syd when the Sydluca storyline (or as I call it, the PRESYDCARMYLUCA plot device) develops next season, for just a few months.
Tumblr media
I can't wait for him to mediate between these two and ironically bring them closer together. I really can't.
Storer, I'm with you on this one. Don't even think about letting me down bc you're already on very thin ice with me.

Mas o que eu poderia fazer? Não tinha escolha além de ser corajosa. Quero dizer, não poderia ficar ali sentada abrindo o berreiro. Que tipo de idiota pareceria?

“Do people in the twenty-first century still dance?” My heart beat thundered in my ears, far louder than the slow music. “Hm,” I said, barely able to swallow, my throat had gone so dry. “Sometimes.” “How about now?” he asked.

When you say mediator, do you mean the ghost series
If so that's rad
Also rad if not, and what is it if not
Omg YES! The Mediator, by Meg Cabot! It's what my profile picture is from. Have you read it??
Tumblr media
Meg Cabot was like my WHOLE thing from like, middle school to college? I was full on obsessed.
Here's some fun facts about me!
I literally identified my religion, when asked, as Jewish-Cabotian.
In my senior picture in my high school year book, I am holding up my copy of Haunted (Mediator #5).
When it was time to paint our parking spaces at school, I painted mine with the words "If you can read this, you can read Meg Cabot."
When an honors college I was applying to asked for an essay on "an author who changed your life," I wrote mine on Meg Cabot, to my father's chagrin. I ended up attending that college.
In high school English, we had to write a senior thesis on an author. My teacher, who was awesome, expressed some doubts as to Meg's literary merit as the subject of a thesis, but I argued that people would've said the same about Shakespeare in his time--his stuff was viewed as entertainment for the masses, not highbrow art, by his contemporaries. So essentially, give Meg a couple centuries.
My first fanfiction I wrote when I was a tween was on The Mediator. It is still on ffnet somewhere. I do not recommend it.
Thank you for the opportunity to share this part of my life!

the entirety of tvd is about two brothers who from childhood, as a trauma response (abusive alcoholic father), colluded with each other into playing roles of morally good brother and bad brother and them doing all they can to reinforce that (damon the scapegoat, stefan the secretive ‘hero’) -but vampirism, as a condition of forced moral greyness, challenges this act of being moral opposites that they do. Stefan continued the cycle of “addiction” in being a ripper as a vampire, and Damon displays dry drunkenness and scapegoat/rebel behavior. And when a human (who is not forced into moral greyness)-Elena (the mediator), manages to actually get to know these vampires, she gets to them to realize that neither is "good" or "bad"-no one is.
Tumblr media
This is best displayed in the season 7 scene of Damon and Stefan as children. Their alcoholic father proclaims that someone stole his money out of the house. Damon takes the fall for it so that Stefan doesn’t get abused. Their father then asks Stefan to grab his lighter so that he can light the cigar that he uses to burn Damon with as punishment.

weaponizing anti-endos' paranoia when you know that they're pwCDDs and by extension trauma survivors is NOT a Pro-Plural Power Play and actually has that same "this is the unpersoning of pwCDDs that aren't on your side" effect that anti-endos do when they other pro-endo pwCDDs.
you are furthering an unnecessary divide. if the future is plural, that includes anti-endos who identify as plural. by definition. your insistence on excluding and antagonizing them does absolutely nothing for the cause.
"but they antagonize us too!" okay? never said what they were doing is okay, but using shitty behavior to justify your own different shitty behavior doesn't make it better. it doesn't justify it. i can validate the feelings of exhaustion and anger, but some of y'all need to learn to stop using it as an excuse. especially when you are edging towards being anti-pwCDDs and not just anti-anti-endo.
a plural future includes the plurals you don't like, and you still need to remember that they're people, because un-personing causes these divides and it can, will, and currently is furthering them.
i cannot believe this is even a fucking hot take.

Only realizing later in life that you’re indeed very gay means understanding halfway through re-reading the first book of the mediator series by meg cabot that in fact you did not actually have a crush on jesse who everyone claimed as their first book boyfriend but were massively in love with suze the protagonist instead

Meg Cabot the woman that you are for creating an antagonist as charismatic as Paul Slater and STILL having the main love interest be sweet enough to be (marginally) more appealing

You know what? I've gotta vent somewhere
The mediator came out 20 years ago it NEEDS an adaptation. Meg kept the rights for two decades because she didn't want it to be made unjustly and then when there's finally a good enough screenplay that she's cool with it, IT GETS CANCELED???
Please...I just need to see it... somewhere.... Somehow....

44. The book(s) whose stories have become part of your very makeup.
The Prison Healer trilogy by Lynette Noni
The Mediator series by Meg Cabot
The Martian by Andy Weir
I think about one of these books/series at least once a week.
