words cannot describe how much i love that suitcase moment. just everything about it. alex saying that the one exciting thing he'd done was buying a new suitcase. and hinch's 'just stop. just stop. is it a sponsor? just stop.' like you could hear him being like 'hmmm maybe it's a sponsor and then i have to humour him'. and alex trying to say that he put an emoji on it over hinch interrupting him and finally managing to say 'i got a smiley face instead of initials' and hinch going '....did you really?' and you can just hear the smile in his voice 😭 and then going '....that's kinda cool'. alex's excited little 'do you wanna see??' and hinch immediately being 'yeah, of course i wanna see!! 😀'. the way you can hear alex going to get his suitcase. hinch absolutely loving the suitcase.

The way that you can audibly hear how much they care about each other in this podcast…it’s insane actually. The way Alex is always eager and happy to explain whatever hyper specific topic he’s researched to James and James is always ready and willing to listen…I cry.

The suitcase bit especially just…yeah. Alex’s footsteps as he runs for the suitcase 🥹. He’s just so excited to show his friend this silly little suitcase, we can’t even see it. It’s not for the audience, it’s just something that Alex genuinely wants to show James. And I genuinely believe Alex could have shown James a cardboard box and he probably would have had the same reaction. Because Alex is excited about it, so ofc he’s gonna be enthused about it too. They just seem to understand each other so well, seem to know when picking on each other is okay, but also when to stop it and express genuine emotion. It’s so clear they have a friendship that honest.

Their friendship wrecks me. Everyone deserves a friendship like theirs 🥹.

Nothing will dispell the "the curtains were just blue" myth faster than writing something yourself, because the amount of pretentious symbolism i am putting in my silly little fanfics is ridiculous. I mean SO much with these words, literally every single one of them. This fic has twenty five typos and zero correct uses of punctuation but if there's curtains you bet your ass I put thought into what colour they were.
