I was thinking of post-canon ideas and something occurred to me, and I'm curious of everyone's thoughts...!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I remember back in the day there was a lot of discussion over whether Urie framed out forever and was essentially a full ghoul...
...or if he was saved just in time and was still a Quinx.
Tumblr media
Maybe I missed it, but I don't recall the same discussion happening with Mutsuki and Saiko?
Despite...
Tumblr media
...there being quite a bit of evidence for Mutsuki
Tumblr media
...and some pretty glaring evidence for Saiko, too
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We never get confirmation in the manga for any of these, so there's no "correct" answer, but what do you all think?
What are your thoughts? Headcanons? Preferences? I'm really curious.
Personally...
I've always liked the idea of Urie framing out. He's the one that always pushed for more power at the start, so I think it gives a nice "face the consequences of your actions" feel to his whole arc. As well as making him face being a ghoul and all that entails, when he was the one Quinx to not accept Sasaki in the first arc.
Mutsuki I always liked to think of being able to go back, just barely making it in time. A good parallel with his redemption arc. That its not too late, he just needs to choose to do it.
And Saiko? She never wanted to be a quinx, or an investigator, and she likes food and snacks and candy. She's been through so much already, I don't want to take that away from her too! šŸ˜
But I gotta admit, it'd also be pretty narratively satisfying to have all three original quinx frame out in the end. Proving that the CCG never should have messed with that power.

Still thinking about this WIP panel Sage shared a year ago.
Tumblr media
I think, next page, he's going to be in sheer denial over what Jekyll is doing. My theory is that Hyde is going to break the mirror, and the broken pieces are the glass shards he's picking up here.
And man. The symbolism will be SO juicy. Picking up the pieces of what Jekyll left behind...yeah. It's gonna be painful. :(

haha more angst ig
I had this Idea a while ago but I thought given the recent pages, it would be a good time to post (CLICK ON THE IMAGE FOR THE WHOLE PIC)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ok I didn't realise how creepy the last panel looks by itself there- nevermind that. If you couldn't guess, I can't draw explosions OR fire... but hey, I tried!
Ummm Yeah- What if the society goes Kaboom? cause I sure think it will. I think it would also be EVEN cooler if Robert or Frankenstein is stuck inside and Jekyll has to go rescue them whilst also literally dying himself from all these transformations. You could say this also ties into the theory that I did with @ja9-animations
I'm sorry I have posted practically nothing lately - school and life is very chaotic but hopefully I can push some more stuff out later-I have lots of plans >:) ok sorry for the ramble have a great day

OK SO TGS THEORY
(spare me)
kay, since Jekyll's locked in his room and Lanyon may be on the way. Maybe it's gonna play out like Ch.8 of the original novella. Where Jekyll is transforming like crazy and is holed up in his lab. Quite similar, no?? In the chapter as well, they bust down the door and he dies as Hyde. ENTER THAT SERUM FROM A FEW CHAPTERS AGO THAT THEY USED ON SINNETT? THE ONE THAT MIMICS DEATH??
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(ch.11 btw)
Jekyll took it from Frankenstein. It may still be in his lab. If Lanyon/the mob break down the door and he's Hyde, he can take it and fake his death, no?

Seeing each tiny shard in his skin, every small, intricate detail of the blood, gosh it hurts. Oh does it hurt. Imagine cawing for the whole entire comic saying that you donā€™t need a certain person and then suddenly loosing that person and then you realize
ā€œOh fuck maybe I did need them after all!ā€
Tumblr media
He was all bark some bite for the whole story, and yes weā€™ve seen him become soft in a blushy way once in the story but we havenā€™t seen him become soft in the caring, depressing way of wanting someone to come back to save him. Heā€™s alone. Heā€™s got what heā€™s asked for. Because being an asshole was a defense mechanism and the biggest sense of pride, but now heā€™s weak and he does NOT like it.
Tumblr media
I wonder if heā€™ll do anything more impulsive now that Jekyllā€™s gone :) !!!

I don't want to be mean but you all sound batshit when you try to convince milkvans byler is real by talking about pure subtext and color theory and "Mike was checking Will out in this scene!!!" there's CLEAR plausible deniability in your own interpretation of someone's acting. The duffers intentionally kept it all vague enough that most people wouldn't figure it out until they get the chance to shove it into people's faces and if the majority of people look at the scene you're analyzing and go "aww they're finally friends again yay" and you go "Mike was blatantly checking wills ass out in the beginning" when...he was taking a breath to settle and prepare to reconcile with someone he's been "off" with for a year... you end up sounding a little insane. Those types of takes are subjective, and you can make a funny video with zooms implying that that's what he was doing but actively trying to convince someone your headcannon is canon will almost always make you sound deranged.
There's a reason you don't go up to milkvans and go "b-but blue meets yellow in the west" and start talking about the intricacies of making film and how everything is on purpose, that stuff isn't for normies. Analysts love that shit but to someone who just watches the show for fun they hear you say all that and go "you're reaching" because you took someone who is at a zero and shoved them into a thousand without showing them why you ACTUALLY ship byler and just tried to prove that it's real

NEW TGS CHAPTER COVER
i decided to also share here what i figured out from my own analysing and other's comments for the new chapter cover (i posted this in page comments and on two discord servers, if you already read this, you probably saw it somewhere there) as a first word, i have absolutely no analyzing skills but i'm trying my best here so hear me out guys 1. some things i could guess, one would be that jekyll looks happy here because as he's in mindscape, he may be visiting like nicer memories with hyde, i'd say as he's now the one in control, their first (hyde's, lanyon's and the lodgers' probably) idea would be to go for jekyll in some way, but they most likely need to deal with the angry mob (as they're also still very present) and this part may be represented as the fire behind hyde now back to jekyll, let's say the mob is dealt with and they're back to jekyll jekilling himself problem, as people (mainly puzzle) said, the string may be something to help hyde get into the mindscape to rescue jekyll without himself getting lost, meaning it being a lifeline now imagine, coming back to jekyll visiting memories thing, if jekyll gets too invested, does not want to leave at all, starts to lose the sense of whats a memory and whats real, and hyde somehow needs to get him out of this situation 2. also i'd so love to see more personal opinions of lodgers about the whole jekyll & hyde situation as we have yet to see them (most interested in rachel and jasper, also maybe ito as she's also an alchemist, and maybe some lodgers that didn't believe jekyll could so something science-y in the first place) 3. considering the look on both of their faces, they are anything but happy, jekyll's is obviously fake, hyde's is more interesting, as i interpret as he's absolutely NOT OKAY and in absolute denial about the degree of the situation, or he uses legitimate jekyll's strategy to somehow resolve the ever present angry mob problem, maybe even convince the rest of the lodgers that everything's under control (he already looks vulnerable in front of LANYON, what would the rest think??) 4. another thing is, as Zosi is a church grimm, they are associated with death, and as we can see Jekyll is holding one and theres many around, so what if that means Jekyll fully embraced death but its also coming for Hyde since he physically can't sleep which does mean eventual death 5. also something puzzle made me realize, they may be a bit like Theseus and Ariadne, I don't remember much of details but I can absolutely see this as the string being a yarn given by Lanyon or lodgers or whoever comes up with that and Hyde uses it to first get into the labyrinth (the mindscape), fight the Minotaur (find and convince Jekyll to bring him back) and then get out

Alright, so, me reaching for theories time! Hinami might have a connection to the OG Dragon's underground city, through her dad. See, in the manga, Fueguchi Asaki has light hair - as do Ayato's "ducklings", the underground city descendants. And THIS kagune is familiar, isn't it?
Tumblr media
Looks a lot like Hinami's rinkaku part:
Tumblr media
Which she inherits from her father.
So, Hinami's dad might be from the underground city, and Hinami would therefore be at least distantly related to one of the underground trio.

okay slightly calmed down a little and have had a thought process time
my main thought is: what was going on in robert's head when hyde was on the other side of that door???
because like. there's a ton of stuff he could have thought in that moment, and I kinda just wanna list whatever I think he might have been thinking at the time:
hot. (IM SORRY HE WAS REALLY HOT IN THE THIRD PANEL AND I WILL NOT GET OVER IT)
hyde was impersonating henry the whole time and I've just admitted I love henry to someone who can use this as blackmail. this is a thought that definitely could have crossed his mind, however it probably would have been quickly debunked by the fact that henry was being very henry a few pages ago.
hyde has done something to henry. very straightforward, valid thought process, very in character for hastie robert lanyon and his edward hyde hating self.
henry and hyde are working together (sleeping together too? there were rumours...) to play with my feelings for some unknown cruel reason. unlikey thought pattern, not impossible but definitely very improbable for lanyon.
and, last but not least, hyde and henry are the same person. I don't think lanyon would jump immediately to this conclusion, and definitely not without some solid proof such as seeing a transformation or frankenstein explaining or showing him the notes, but I think he will definitely come to the conclusion at some point very soon.
I also think maybe robert might have been too shocked to have any actual thoughts in that moment, so other contenders are:
what?!
why?!
how?!
I'm still reeling from the page (see: my two previous posts) and I'll probs have more theories later, but here's my thoughts as of now.

TGS Theory Time
So me and @echooefrost were theorizing...
Remember that scene from chapter 3 where Jekyll and Lanyon were watching the play and well...
Tumblr media
And then what happens the very next panel?
Tumblr media
Those rioters sure do have some flames don't they. The theory we came up with was that the society would catch fire, and that Jekyll would have to choose between his experiments, and his life. (This might be a stretch but this also might be foreshadowing)
Tumblr media
We also theorized that Frankenstein and Jekyll would remake the potion but it wouldn't work. Jekyll wouldn't know why since they followed the instructions but Frankenstein would notice that something has an impurity (just like the book) and know how fix the potion. But at that point, the fire would start to burn down the society and they would be forced to leave.
Everything would literally and figuratively be crumbling around Jekyll.

Just realized something after looking at the cover art for some of tgs chapters. Every time you see Jekyll on a cover, heā€™s never without Hyde or without references to hyde
(Examples)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thereā€™s really not any other places we see Jekyll without Hyde except when heā€™s with Lanyon
(Examples)
Tumblr media
(Not interacting with Hyde/ shown with him )
Tumblr media
IDK WHAT THIS MEANS AND ITS PROOOBABBLY NOTHING AND IM PROBABLY JUST IMAGING IT BUTTTT

So!! I learned since writing this analysis (about Hyde being in Big Trouble without Jekyll) that Sage has already stated what the situation is, regarding whether Hyde can sleep or not. And, well:
Tumblr media
Which means the clock on Hyde's life is already ticking down. D:
There is likely no possible ending where Hyde lives and Jekyll doesn't. You can have both around and alive, or neither! All the more motivation for Hyde to try his damned hardest to find a way to get Jekyll back. Whatever their ultimate fate is, they'll share it.
They both go down together. Or, they're both saved.
>:) In other words:
"They'll never be able to separate Jekyll from Hyde!"

Dropping my Bs from the comment Section Cause I can and apparently and a large majority of Tgs fans don't read the comments
Tumblr media
'What is Hyde? '
'An Experiment. A Mistake'
GOD THAT'S GOTTA HURT
I think Its interesting to note How jekyll perceives himself as the sanctimonious 'holier than thou, I'm the 'better' half therefore you are in-superior and insignificant' attitude towards Hyde. (I believe this was particularly personified after the transformation where the both embodied a more extreme version of Henry's subjective 'halves') Now all that's left for Hyde is feed into the persona that Jekyll has cultivated for him. He may as well be the wreck, abomination and 'evil' that he's repeatedly been told he is, he's lost everything, he has no reason or purpose anymore. So why not be the monster Jekyll fears he is? And ultimately Ruin both their lives.... Yeah Shits about to DOWN GOD THE UNDERLYING SUBTEXT OF ALL OF THIS HAS ME SCALING THE WALLS TOP TIER WRITING I SWEAR
anyways Im not okay how are yall holding up??

Iā€™m about 40% sure that what the lodgers noticed was that it sounded like Hydeā€™s voice. WE CANNOT FORGET HOW UNSTABLE THIS MAN IS. Middle Aged Victorian Yaoi for the win guys!!

The amount of fans who say that they wanted the Team Black family, specifically the kids, to have more arguments in order to make them more interesting like Team Green are confusing.
First, saying that Team Black should be ā€˜complex and interestingā€™ in the same way Team Green is, is the least complex and interesting development ever. It would be repetitive, with absolutely nothing new. No characterization, just a useless parallel that would contribute nothing besides another both sides are bad argument. Which weā€™ve all heard a thousand times by now, we donā€™t need to hear it again.
Second, thatā€™s just too easy. Team Black is a very messy family - itā€™s got an uncle/niece relationship thatā€™s been separated for 10 years, illegitimate Velaryon siblings that look nothing like the rest of TB, two black twins that havenā€™t been raised in Westeros, who all have to juggle being both step-siblings to each other and betrothed pairs, two very new half-brothers, and absolutely none of them have a very similar personality, except perhaps for Daemon and Baela. Thatā€™s got to be one of the most confusing and chaotic families ever made.
So the expected development would be for them to break apart. To have arguments. To never get along. Thatā€™s the easy route, because writing it would come without thinking. Jace doesnā€™t like Daemon? Super easy. Daemon wants to kill the Velaryon boys for his own sons while being sexist towards his daughters and their prospects of becoming Queen/Lady of High Tide? Boring and easy, no effort required. None of the siblings have a relationship with each other unless forced to? Donā€™t even have to write a line for that.
Itā€™s simply not complex by a writing standpoint, because all of it can be written without putting in effort. The lines will write themselves, without needing to think of how everything affects the characters. In fact, nothing would affect the characters, because none of them would make the effort to be with or interact with each other. Nothing could develop or characterize them in a new way.
The better development would be for them to all come together despite those differences. To care for one another after having their initial families torn apart. The development as they all try to get along can result in arguments, and it wonā€™t be perfect. However, everything that could happen would come from a place of love, and trying oneā€™s best even with an odd and imperfect situation.
Jace might be uncertain about Daemonā€™s feelings toward his illegitimacy, but couldnā€™t they both be dedicated towards protecting the family? Daemon might want his blood on the throne, but shouldnā€™t it be easy for him to pass it through his daughters - itā€™s not like Baela is about to be submissive and take orders she doesnā€™t like from Jace. Joffrey isnā€™t Daemonā€™s son, but he will be raised by him his whole life - whatā€™s that dynamic like? Rhaena doesnā€™t have a dragon, but could she be willing enough to learn diplomacy and politics and fashion from her stepmother? How does Rhaenyra even take being a stepmother, after such a bad relationship with her own? How did Rhaenyra and Daemon fully get back together - what arguments did they have, how did they resolve them, what were the better times they had together before the war? How did everyone take Rhaenyra being pregnant with Aegon after Laena just died of childbirth?
Exploring development like that would be better, and it would also be new. Not just ā€˜oh I wish Team Black wouldnā€™t get along so well and itā€™s so uninteresting, look at what it does to Team Green.ā€™ We donā€™t need the exact relationship repeated.
It would also be nice to see a family that shouldnā€™t work at all, make it come together because of how dedicated they are to protecting and loving each other. That would actually be complex and interesting.
