I don't want to be mean but you all sound batshit when you try to convince milkvans byler is real by talking about pure subtext and color theory and "Mike was checking Will out in this scene!!!" there's CLEAR plausible deniability in your own interpretation of someone's acting. The duffers intentionally kept it all vague enough that most people wouldn't figure it out until they get the chance to shove it into people's faces and if the majority of people look at the scene you're analyzing and go "aww they're finally friends again yay" and you go "Mike was blatantly checking wills ass out in the beginning" when...he was taking a breath to settle and prepare to reconcile with someone he's been "off" with for a year... you end up sounding a little insane. Those types of takes are subjective, and you can make a funny video with zooms implying that that's what he was doing but actively trying to convince someone your headcannon is canon will almost always make you sound deranged.

There's a reason you don't go up to milkvans and go "b-but blue meets yellow in the west" and start talking about the intricacies of making film and how everything is on purpose, that stuff isn't for normies. ok so in an AU of my AU where ninakate happens, it all starts after nina is stabbed by jeff. they make her heal in the proxy cabin cuz theyre worried jeff will break into ninas apartment and finish the job(he has no interest in doing that tho). tim/brian/toby/jack are busy with zalgoid issues, SO kate sorta...keeps watch on nina while she heals. cuz of that, nina starts latching onto kate. between kate cleaning the stab wound, bringing her water, wrapping her up in gauze, nina crying into kates arms unprompted, asking kate to sleep in the same bed with her cuz she cant sleep, nina asking kate quiet questions for hours while the radio hums and rain pours outside... they share an awkward, "meaningless" kiss. nina blamed it on emotions running high. kate didnt know what to blame

"guess im the fool, with her arms out like an angel through the car sunroof" toby ends up 'inheriting' an old rusty red pickup truck from tim. i doubt it would have a sun roof, but i could see toby and nat up front, while nina and kate are in the back (like, the BACK bed of the truck). nina would be giggling, tilting her head back and her hair is flying like crazy and her arms are out and kate cannoooot get that damn kiss out of her head, especially when nina looks like that.

im thinking maybe it happens again. the group was hanging out, but nat and toby went off somewhere else, leaving nina and kate together. and kate offers to walk nina home, but ninas like 'what if i spend the night instead?' and kates immediately like Oh jesus christ okay. and they talk . and chat. and banter. and nina would bring up that stupid kiss and say something about 'i wouldnt mind doing that again. i mean, as friends.' and kates head is spinning.

and despite all of this, nina is still in a bad headspace. before, during, and after her relationship with jeff, she has HORRIBLY low self esteem and a need for attention/validation, and she will seek it out anywhere. she'd blame it on a million and one things "oh its just for fun, oh i was just drunk, oh its not that serious, he was cute, i got his number!". especially when trying to heal her bruised ego after the whole jeff thing (alongside a few huge arguments with toby calling her out on her BS). and kate listens, and even though she's really blunt and straightforward, she doesnt feel mean. not like toby or nat or jack. so even when kates like "that doesnt make sense" "that seems stupid though" "why would you do that" ninas just laughing and being like "it just felt right in the moment! im having fun, kate!". she thinks kate just doesnt get it, on account of never being in a relationship, but kate knows whats going on. she knows why nina is the way that she is, but all she has to say is . GOODLUCK LMFAO. shes not here to control or convince or plead with anybody, and def not nina. and i think that would kinda irk nina a little. she'd kiss kate, then a couple nights later talk about a guy she met at a bar, and kate just side eyes her and is like 'have fun' and nina wishes there was more

ok whether their kisses turn into anything else, i think theyd both continually agree to keep it a secret from everyone else. it would just be a huge mess that neither of them want to address, especially kate dealing with toby. but i think once kate starts getting a little affection and whatnot that she's never received (she's been in the chaser mode for over half her life, mind you), it would feel incredibly suffocating but also incredibly freeing. like she feels like something new has opened up to her, something that she got locked out of years ago. and nina has the key, unfortunately

ok this is where the song and story falls apart a little cuz ninas not getting married to anyone. i guess this could be a hypothetical where she goes back to jeff for a moment in time, but.. ehh.... dunno how i feel about that. and i dont think the 'i told you so' fits kate cuz she just kinda lets nina do whatever. asks questions and is like ??? and maybe has a bit of an attitude when saying 'good luck with that', but she never tells her what to do

i know "the feeling" is more about being into girls and how you cant hide from it, but i dont think the whole lesbianism thing would be their issue. in a ninakate interpretation of the song, i think 'the feeling' is either ninas issues with romance and self worth, kates ache to be with someone despite thinking she has no right to it, ninas guilt for leading kate on, and of course their literal romantic feelings...

ahh this billion dollar question isn’t it. i feel like this is the top 1 most discussed thing on this app for years, i have read every side of it.

to give #my opinion, im gonna go with yes. but its far more complicated, like most things are with naruto lol. i believe sasuke is right because he sees there’s a flaw in the existing system around him and to finally do something about it the only way to do that it’s to get ride of the system from the root.

now, as much as i agree with sasuke there i don’t agree with the way he tries to do that revolution. i dont mean this in a “oh violence wont be fixed with more violence” bs. i mean this because where sasuke’s goals are born for and how they affect his plans.

when sasuke finishes listening to the kages and it’s coming up with his thoughts, he immediately is bombarded by memories of itachi (itachi only, not his clan) and itachi’s words to him. when he states he will not let the village be destroyed he does it by adding “itachi’s will”. when sasuke is dying in the war arc his only thoughts again are that he doesn’t want to waste what itachi wanted to die. this shows us very clearly that sasuke’s revolution is very influenced by itachi’ wants. a little different, sure but still the same. which makes sense why his goal at vote2 is destroy the last person he loves and bear the hatred of everyone so the villages can have peace between them as long as they focus all on him. and this is quite what itachi did, just on a bigger scale. naruto = uchiha clan. the villages = konoha. sasuke = itachi.

^this is where many people complain that kishimoto had to turn sasuke ooc to make him evil and i can see what they mean but personally i dont view it as such when i look at what sasuke’s arc has always been. i have seen also that they dislike that post reveal sasuke’s character seems to be focus on itachi more than in his clan like in part 1 which i also disagree. itachi has been sasuke’s main influence in his character since day one. even in part 1, sasuke’s hate towards itachi isn’t just because he killed his clan, kishimoto focuses alot in showing itachi and sasuke having a loving relationship. kishimoto is very specific that sasuke’s biggest grief at the end of the day is not the massacre alone but the fact it was itachi who committed it. this is essentially what sets sasuke aside of other characters that lost their family/clans/parents etc. its not only what he lost but by who’s hands he lost it. so his focus has always been in itachi. so i dont think it was only part 2 that sasuke became more driven by itachi than anything else… anyways going back to the topic because im going off the rails (sorry).

sasuke has always had itachi first imo. and sasuke has always been defined by love too so ofc he’s gonna forgive the person he loves even if he doesn’t deserve it, ofc he’s gonna try to achieve that peace his brother “sacrificed” his life for (even if thru different means that he wanted you to). but while i understand and love sasuke’s character, i still think these are all very personal reasons for his revolution plans and thus why it fails.

his revolution plans are also self destructive but he doesn’t care because he still views it as his ultimate duty (again why he was so distraught when he was about to die without doing anything). he wants to become the bearer of all evil, and pain and hatred and wants to be all alone, even tho that is something that has caused alot of his pain in the past, he even talks about possible immortality and its just, well sad. you can tell hes about to sell his own doom because he thinks thats what he has to do to fix everything. he is ready to become a martyr. and forgive me but i view as that as a very tragic

so while i will always view him as being in the right, because when you put him in comparasion to most characters that doesnt realize whats wrong w the shinobi world, he will always come as one of the few that actually isn’t blind (even if its framed as bad for pointing that the system needs to be destroyed), i still dont think his plans are the right ones

i'm still super excited so im gonna gush some more (abt the fic) but i do wanna say i freakin love how big the artist chose to make Teto's wings; i thought my own drawing was big but this artist made them BIGGER and I LOVE THAT because she's sooo creature-coded and i super love that about her, just, isnt it so cool when we have three characters (Triple Baka) but one of them can just sprout (hugeass) wings at any time, Teto, ur so so special <3

Also i love the clear circuitry on Miku's face/the side of her neck.... super obviously an android...... I welcome it immensely, I didnt think of that but I absolutely accept it. She's actually been in that place for a non-small amount of time so it'd make sense if she got slightly damaged from the elements!! Idk if I'll change my existing drawing since I'm treating it as alternate interpretations which i love, but I wanted to say I love it <3

talking about my own fic, one of my favorite moments is towards the end where Miku is like completely ready to ditch her bc eksgskfsks ofc Teto's like, "??!???!" and if i drew it, you'd start seeing her expression slowly change into mild irritation/sheer disbelief bc I think it's kinda understandable why Teto would be the type to get attached easily (in this setting) but all Miku remembers is Teto agreed to help her for a little bit so ofc Miku's like, "Yay you've done what you said you would! thank you so very much! I will now be taking my leave"

The reason I like this moment (among others) is bc I think it really highlights their differences in personality and approaching things xD Ofc I love interpretation so I wont cross out alternate interpretations at all but if you're curious about mine,

I'm a fan of tsundere (always have been) but this Teto in particular (UTAU Teto) has had like zero contact with others for quite a while..... She might even be a shut-in because I did briefly explore her perspective in my mind and she actually tries to avoid others/going out if she can help it. That's bc going out into the world depresses her!!! lol!

She doesnt immediately trust others, maybe she's seen how savage/disloyal other creatures are and thinks there cant be anything good from associating with them or getting along with them, so she's most comfortable alone. When she first encounters Miku, you might be able to make this connection, but the main reason she approached (besides needing food) was she was like, "who is THAT??" and thought it might actually be a human (all of whom were supposed to have died out a long time ago). Teto has mixed feelings towards humans, maybe a mix of positive and negative, so unlike other creatures, if she saw a human, of course she'd get curious. Obviously humans make her favorite French bread too so she owes them for that xD

ANYWAY Teto lore dump aside, she doesnt know how to socialize/be very friendly and is pretty blunt/sharp-tongued/sassy. The main thing about her is she's kinda dishonest now and cant really speak her feelings cuz it feels like revealing weakness, so if she's ever expressing something about herself, she's most likely to couch it in like rational or practical terms. never "i want/feel like this so please listen to me" but more "this will benefit us both so I'd go with that if I were you". It's something I find very cute about her!!!

Miku is the straightforward type who doesnt understand connotations or anything yet so she's really easily the type to say or do socially unconventional things and have Teto react like "???" (one of my favorite reactions in manga/etc is confusion lmao, it's just so raw)

Anyway Teto would never bully Miku or anything, she's just sassy and sharp like I mentioned, but Miku is also the type to have those things completely fly over her head, so even if Teto tried to rile Miku up in return, she'd probably totally fail at it and it'd backfire xD (making her embarrassed instead from even trying/thinking it'd work)

This is just random gushing about different personalities coming together and interacting with each other but honestly this is prompted by the fanart too cuz i LOVE those expressions

latikam has definitely killed and seriously injured others before. he wasn't allowed to do much fighting during the fall of the occupation but he still had to do what he had to. Unrelated he's definitely lost the trust of his kids but he got it back so dont worry about the details.

alex leans logical

hydrel exists between emotional and logical in a way only an autistic person can. His emotions are logical to have, and his logic does not exist in a vacuum from emotions. You're the one who doesnt make any sense.

latikam is an emotional thinker first but can listen to reason. One of the things he misses about vokutlvek is the way he approaches distress with such a calm sense of rationality. He needed that.

neither oasis or casarin can cook or bake, they've been surviving off handouts and prepackaged foods, they are not eating good

alex can cook a little but isnt very experienced. He can figure it out if he needed to.

ive shitposted about hydrel's cooking before but baking is a favorite hobby of his.

latikam can cook but has never been the cook in his house and leaves it to everyone else.

Hydrel knows cpr! He was trained in first aid and some basic surgical procedures dealing with wounds. Oasis, Casarin, and Alex don't know shit about first aid and Latikam is immortal. Hydrel is literally their only hope.

fun fact swimming is a required class in deac'lulne since it gives you a slight chance of survival if god forbid you fall into the rivers. oasis can swim decently and enjoys it.

casarin hasn't swam since he was in school but at least could keep his head above water, he hates any kind of physical activity but it was always preferred over everything else.

alex wasn't taught how to swim until latikam found out he didn't know how to on a fishing trip and he immediately made it his life's purpose to make sure this little man knew how to swim. alex doesnt particularly like it.

hydrel was taught how to swim but because he did not like the lessons he never learned to enjoy it. He does like a nice hot tub moment or splashing around in the shallow end though. Man would like a lazy river.

Riddle won't force you to step out of your comfort zone if you aren't comfortable with it. Once upon a time, he might have because of his tendency to stick to the rules. But now, I feel he's much more lax about you bringing your doll to class with you.

the one time Ruggie forced him to go to class he passed out immediately on the desk, sleeping through the entire class.

by the time he woke up, everyone else was gone, except for you, who was staring at him trying to tug away something from his grasp

Vil Schoenheit

You honestly never expected him to take notice of you, after all, Vil is like a shining star

What really caught Vil's eye was your work ethic. You're quiet but a hard worker, which he can respect.

It just puzzles him at times why you're reliant on the plush toy, after all, wouldn't it impede on your ability to do your work

he's moreso indifferent to the fact that you carry a doll, so long as you do your work,he doesn't rlly care

Idia Shroud

Idia has a lot of plushies and like figurines of his favorite anime characters so he can understand your attachment to carrying around something

he's also an introverted individual, so he won't outwardly approach you first, you have to be the one to initiate contact.

if you do end up talking with him at some point, he might just invite you to play games with him, and eventually he'll show off his collections to you, going into a hyperfixated state as he talks about each of his figures in detail.

Malleus Draconia

Malleus has lived for so long, so he doesn't neccessarily understand one's attachment to a material object. After all, it might end up breaking after a while so it's better to just keep memories of what once was.

but still you're his child of man, everything you do intrigues him. he practically scares off everyone with his intimidating aura so he'll hang out with whoever is willing to chill with him

though you don't say much, he finds your presence comforting to say the least.

Over-Tired OM Boys HCs

Here's the initial thing that got me started thinkin bout the boys, but here ya go-

Lucifer

- this man, once he hits overtired, is extremely gullible, which is why he locks himself in his office until hes done what needs to be done

- also cannot keep a train of thought for more than 20 seconds and it drives him nuts

- and then he loses his focus even more because he's upset

- you tried knocking on the door once, and told him when you closed your eyes, you couldnt see and needed to go to the doctor

- man went from frustrated to concerned in a heartbeat, only after opening the door realizing how foolish he had just come across

- but now the door was open and you had access to him, and reluctantly he let you drag him to bed

- Will deny it ever happened, and if you bring it up, expect a punishment.

- Though he is grateful you made him rest so he would not become the laughingstock of his brothers

Mammon

- over tired bby will ramble until he forgot what he was talking about and space out for a solid ten seconds before snapping back

- it doesnt matter if you're listening intently or only half listening, he makes no sense what so ever.

- If you can record him without him noticing you (which is easy to do in this state) and play it back once he's rested he's either facepalming and blushy for the nonsense he spewed or he managed to pick out what he may have been trying to say and gets super excited, going off on another more understandable tangent.

- Gaming is a priority

Levi

- Sleeping is not

- Levi usually ends up just tired, not wired but dear lord when he does-

- All that energy and passion he pours into the way he speaks about anime and manga?

- Its physical now...oh and hes slightly more extroverted

- Though its a rare sight, over tired Levi works out and rambles about whatever it was that made him stay up that long, and hes doing it all in your room

Satan

- Over tired Satan is a rare sight, though it happens often, as he holes up in his room

- He gets an impulse to clean, and will tidy and clean and organize his books, though it never lasts

- and theres no escape, he will start crying if he feels you arent paying attention or if you're about to leave

- Depending on who you are, he either becomes 10000000% testier, or hes a giggly mess, there is no in between

Asmo

- Finds everything funny, but will get pouty if it came from someone he doesnt really like

- Over tired Asmo is rare, likely the rarest of all the boys to see, save for Barbatos

- but he is a chaotic little fucker

- dear god

- He will raid the fridge and pantry worse than Beel, specifically when hes on a diet-

- Then MC you're either in for one hell of a story from Asmo, most of them his not-so-proud drunk moments that he never talks about for that reason but he cant stop himself-

-his laugh sounds even more high pitched than normal, and a little maniacal, and he finds everything he says hilarious

- you will go on an adventure probably

Beel

- spaces out randomly, and also cries easily, dont point this put to him and say yes to his adventures, he'll change his mind a thousand times on the way- just go with it

- overtired Beel happens quite a bit, usually after the victory of a game and the adrenaline starts to wear off- and then he still has stuff to do

- but instead of "oh" and maybe a small laugh when he realizes what happened its more ".....oh" and then he looks like he's having an existential crisis

- you will have to physically lead him to bed after that, he's too busy thinking and slowly eating whatever is in his hand

- he snacks to keep himself awake, and poor himbo man is even more gullible than usual

- will want to cuddle, but wont ask when hes like this

Belphie

- out like a bulb immediately

- The Avatar of Sloth? Over tired? yes it happens unfortunately-

- He gets even grumpier than usual because he can’t sleep

- Then at night its just restless tossing and turning

- yes even the seemingly flawless butler gets overtired, but opposite of Asmo, he is far better at concealing it

- Usually happens when he intentionally sleeps through important meetings and days for Lucifer back to back to back

- It’s another excuse to hold you though, so he might make himself over tired more often

Barbatos

- You will see him stifle yawns

- And when given instructions, his eyes widen slightly with concentration as he whispers the instructions over and over under his breath so nobody can hear, but its clear his lips are moving

- he cannot be bribed

- he can be intimidated though, and how you ask?

- “threaten” to go tell Beel or Dia because you know full well if they were asked, they would carry Barb back to his quarters if you can’t do so on your own-

- no he will not sleep

- Usually that’s enough to convince him, but you have to stay near to make sure he doesn’t leave until he’s well-rested, otherwise he’ll leave as soon as possible and try to get back to work

- buuuut if you’re “on guard” or in bed with him- well he might have a few extra minutes or hours to spend with you

Diavolo

- overtired Diavolo is rather rare, as Barbatos is very strict with the prince's schedule

- Still though if Diavolo truly wants to keep going...all Barb can do is prepare for the future

- Which uh...just means being able to drag the prince to his quarters

- If you thought he was lively before, being overtired is kinda like giving caffiene to a squirrel for him

- Until he suddenly crashes....which, depending on how you like his company, can be unfortunate as his kick can last for hours

Simeon

- Simeon goes into zombie mode when he's overtired

- He hates to admit it, but it tales every oumce of strength to not fall asleep in the middle of classes

- Not that Luke would let him

- He's a little dazy, a little slow, but even just a power nap gets the angel going again

Luke

- Babie boy, don't stay up with the big kids-

- an overtired ten year old follows a certain progression

- grumpy, denial in need of sleep, chatterbox, chatterbox, chatterbox, chatt- oh he fell asleep in the middle of his sentence

- will not acknowledge anything in the morning, even as he walks out of his bedroom instead of the random place he slept, instead carrying on the conversation he left half finished the night before

Solomon

- hah

- he has spells

- who needs sleep?

- bastard also pushes himself too far, but disguises it with more ease than anyone else, at least until its just the two of you

- He tends to run his hand through his hair more often, fidgets more

- hes a little jumpy too, so continue with caution if you dont want to be turned into a frog-

Anyways, I know its been a hot minute since I posted anything really uh...substantial? I guess this will have to do?? I'm going to be travelling for a bit, so I apologize for slow updates, also dont have the patience to make a queue

(5/31) tommy’s lore stream.

what a fucking doozy, yall. that was hard to watch, but damn was it done well. some notes, thoughts, observations from me: (all /rp and in regards to characters unless noted otherwise)

wilbur, predictably, totally brushed tommy off when he presented all of the stone he’d gathered. “i forgot i asked you for stone lol” OUCH.

 tommy’s body language acting REALLY leaped out here: his expression instantly fell in disappointment when wilbur said that (he’d been so excited and proud) (also the stoner bit was so fucking funny lmao) 

even after, when tommy was pretending to bounce back and like it didnt upset him, you could still see in his face the disappointment, thinly veiled. wow. thats subtle shit there. istg does this mans have secret actor training or WHAT

wilbur was dodgy about telling tommy what was in the note quackity left at his grave, and after insistence from tommy, lied about it. but tommy didnt believe him for a second. because he’s been lied to so fucking often

if this stream shows anything, its that tommy has seriously wisened up lately.

relatively small detail, and possibly unintentional but.. wilbur did not run from a creeper. he just stood there looking at it and let tommy kill it 

which could have.. interesting implications (is he still suicidual? maybe. its hard to tell. is he letting tommy protect him? likely)

wilbur snapping at tommy to shut up :’) and not in the fun way. FUCK man, that hurt. imo, THAT’S the real wilbur now.

.. reminds me of dream. the way he’d slip out of his “friends” act and snap at tommy. shudders

okay so, the initial scene of wilbur trying to force his way into las nevadas is interesting. q obviously knows better than to let him in his ranks. and meanwhile tommy is gawking at all of the fancy set ups

on one hand, as q and wilbur’s arguing intensifies, tommy gawking at a swimming pool relieves some of the tension from that scene. very clever

on the other... to me it is very very clear that tommy is definitely purposefully acting dense because having these two powerful adults he was once so close to arguing is so fucking stressful and its just easier to pretend its not happening

i already know yall are gonna make a bunch of jokes about how its like “hehe quackity and wilbur arguing over tommy like parents” but. legitimately. as someone who’s been in that situation a TON. it’s really really uncomfortable, and what tommy’s doing is exactly how i’d try to handle it sometimes.

tommy, desperately: hey guys we’re all cool haha right? wilbur i cant wait to hang out with you at quackity’s place wont that be cool? :’)

quackity, fellow manipulator, seeing through wilbur’s bs immediately: absolutely not

honestly, it’s really fascinating seeing the two of them butt heads. theyre both snakes who lust for power and control and to use others. today was a show of threats.

who overpowers who? quackity seems to win, what with having his powerful new nation, but wilbur still, ultimately, has tommy. he wins the battle of wills

i think some people thought they’d work together but there was no way. there’s too much inbetween them. 

on a lighter note, while the bit of “are you two kissing” / “do you have a crush on quackity” is one of those tension breakers, its also REALLY FUCKING FUNNY LMAO. you cannot convince me cc!wilbur and tommy havent seen the “they fucked” post BAHAHA

anyway. this is fucking painful to watch have i mentioned that. they really do not let tommy get a word in. wilbur speaks for him CONSTANTLY

he does not care about nations or power. he does not care for rivalries and battles of wit. he just wants to LIVE, TO RELAX. but of course wilbur convinces him theres something wrong with that

(im not saying tommy should associate with quackity or las nevadas, obviously. hes trouble too. but still)

and tommy KNOWS that! he immediately, when alone, stands up to q. ‘tell me the TRUTH.’ ‘why didnt you help ME during my exile’

his care for tommy right now is a facade, and he KNOWS IT! its easier for him to see it here because he and quackity arent as close as he and wilbur

i think on some level, tommy knows that about wilbur, too. the end of the stream struck me. “there’s something strange going on here. with both of them.” tommy isnt stupid. but its so much harder to break trust in someone you once looked up to so wholly. and wilbur is so good at twisting him around his finger.

“we’re family tommy. we’re blood.” tommy’s loyalty and sense of family is fierce, and wilbur knows it.

but no matter what those two men may say to tommy, when they lose their silky acts, when they scream and let out harsh words, they reveal their hands.

You had only wanted to spend your paid leave in Mondstat for the month. But here you are five years later, ‘retired’ from your position as one of two-dozen of Baals personal assassins.

Sure, you’d never be able to return home to your lack of family and lack of friends. But, you’ve made a life here in Mondstat and you’re more then content on never going back to the old life back in Inazuma. 

You had left before Inazuma had made its borders difficult to cross, hence why you took your vacation in the city of freedom. In the decade of being an assassin you had slowly lost your need for blood, especially those of abroad diplomats and even politicians that Baal no longer wanted in power but didn’t want to make a diplomatic matter out of. Your vision helped make the deaths look more natural than they were.

Your partner of four years, Diluc, knows that you’re from Inazuma. He had originally met you when you were on holiday. But the fact of your assassin work stayed unspoken of. You had never expected your past to catch up with you. Especially considering your home countries current isolationism.

“[name]?” you hear your name spoken from across the street in Mondstat, you look to the source of the call to notice a woman who looked after you while you were in Inazuma

“No way” you say to yourself, a confused Diluc stood beside you. You embrace the woman with a smile “It’s been too long” you tell her 

“You should have sent a letter to be” the woman says sternly after backing out the hug “When I received news that you were never coming back I had presumed that a contract when wrong” she confesses her features lightening

“I was given the taste of freedom and I took it” you grin at the woman

“Is the taste of freedom red, dark and handsome?” the woman jests turning to Diluc who outstretches a hand, the woman shakes it “And who is the name of the man who took an assassins heart?” she asks. You shoot the woman a glare at the lack of her secrecy. Diluc too stiffens at the name of your previous occupation

“Diluc” you answer for him “And all that nonsense is far behind me” you tell the woman sternly who puts her hands up in defence

“I’m not sure, your colleagues tell me Baal is rather angry at your resignation to this day” the woman tells you cocking an eyebrow

“Assassin?” Diluc questions looking at you, you don’t answer him but choose to continue to glare at the woman

“Hm, that’s why you’re here? To kill me or to take me back?” you question stepping forwards towards the woman you would have once considered a sister. She sighs

“I couldn’t kill you swee-” you interrupt her

“Tell Baal to use the other 23 to do her dirty work” you pause and go to turn around but stop “You go back right now and tell her that. And if I see another one of you or the assassins in Mondstat again I wont hesitate to put to use the skills Baal groomed me for” you add pushing a finger in her face before walking away, a confused Diluc trailing behind you.

The two of you don’t talk about the events until after dinner, mainly because it takes you that long to calm down from the events that transpired. You look to Diluc, ready to take anything and everything that comes your way. You did hide a crucial detail from him, especially when he was so open about his past.

“I’m sure you have a lot of questions, I’ll answer them all” you tell Diluc sitting opposite him. Diluc processes your statement.

“An assassin?” you nod “From Inazuma?” you nod again “Would you care to tell me why you never told me?” he asks staring you down

“Well when I first got here I had to keep my identity a secret, especially to keep my holiday as peaceful as possible, but after I left I just wanted to bury it” you explain “I had been contemplating leaving and starting life anew for a few years and this was the first place that I could pursue the dream of being free” you add “I didn’t want to be defined by what I was” 

Diluc nods, you’re not sure how to read him, he’s put on a façade that you had grown familiar with when you first met him. You’re not sure if this is temporary or he’s going to kick you out the manor the second he stops questioning you.

“I was also scared of losing you” you confess with a chuckle “I know your feelings about threats to Mondstat, and I didn’t want to be read as one, I was scared” you add turning your attention away from Diluc, you miss his eyes softening for a moment. “There were so many times I was going to tell you, but every time I tried I had the picture of you just leaving me there, or worse you decide to eliminate a potential threat” you sigh wiping your eyes. Diluc hums at your words letting you know he’s listening 

“I would have like to have learnt from you though” he confesses shifting forwards to touch your shoulder, you lean into the touch

“I’m sorry” you apologise and look up to him “I understand if you want me to leave” you tell him. Diluc shakes his head and pats his lap for you to sit on. You oblige

“I trust you enough” he confesses “Which might be a little stupid but I love you too much to just throw you out” he adds wiping a stray tear, you hug him tight

“I love you too” you tell him from the bottom of your heart

This is going to hurt a whole lot more when this charade is over

Hello im a Tommy enthusiast who watched that one stream where he monologued to foolish for like hafe an hour bc i heard it was a cool stream or wtv to realize how much amazing character moments it had that barly anyone in this damn fandom is talking about so ill fucking do it

(Only after finishing this i realized i wrote 1.7k words LOL OOPS)

If u dont know what in talking about its this stream (apologies for linking a clips channel the actual vod on foolish's channel is deleted by now)

Also heads up /rp /dsmp every time i refer to someone here by name is their character unless stated otherwise bc writing c! Before every name Is tiring LOL

Also // suicidal idealization , death mentions

The conversation starts off with foolish and tommy mining for Wilbur, and foolish questions how simply mining will solve the problem to which Tommy reponds with "they dont get solved, do they? It just ends uo with some madman screaming 'Hes solved it!' And now look at him." And how he wants to "prevent the problem before it goes outta hand" something that clearly references Wilbur and his destruction of lmanburg, which paired with him collecting stone for Wilbur as the way to stop said problems he believes if he does anything he can for Wilbur and support him by his side enough this time around, that he wont do anything like thay again, which as im writing this makes be realize by doing that we learn hes blaming himself for what happened to Wilbur in November 16th and pogtopia and a whole, by not being enough for Wilbur in his mind.

The conversation continues, foolish off hand asks why would tommy want to stop Wilbur? Weren't they friends at some point? To which tommy leads foolish to lmanburg and tells him the story of the nation (how it was him and Wilbur's nation, how they made it to espace dream's iron fist and how they held an election "which puts your life on the line, which is good- if you're confident but- perhaps we were too confident", how they lost)

Tommy: "You know the phrase: 'treat other how you wanna be treated', foolish? People dont ever listen to it. Wilbur- he decided he wanted to be treated poorly so he treated everyone around him poorly "

This Tommy quote, to me at least, so so amazingly strong in conveying how understanding he is? To the world around him. Like-

I have not seen one person bring this quote up, and yet its (at least to me) shows such growth and understanding in Tommy i saw little to nothing like it in other streams. It shows he understands, he knew Wilbur didnt change just because, he knows he was struggling, that he thought everyone around him were againt him, were going to abandon him the first chance theyll get- and he thought he deserved it. So he, as a last way to defend himself against that, hurt them first, abandoned them first, so theyll see how much of a 'bad' person he was and take him out- and tommy saw right through that, possibly understanding it more after exile.

This next qoute was talked about much more but i still wanna bring it up

Foolish: "Do you believe in second chances?"

Tommy: "Oh, no I don't really believe that its not really a thing for me foolish its just that-" *sigh* "- i believe everyone has a little bit of good in then and this is not about giving him a second chance or a third chance- its not about *chances* foolish. Its about not giving up on the poeple you care about. "

Which. I mean. I dont know how healthy that mindset is, but comign from Tommy it makes so much sense.

Techno, tubbo, eret, sapnap. These are all people Tommy used to be extremely close to, had either a war or had been betrayed by them, and yet still found it in his heart that he still cares for them, with all of these, they did horrendous things, that hurt tommy physically and mentally, while also not being once or twice, but a contentious thing, but while tommy is to this day still effected by their actions he still found it in himself to forgive, because he knows he fucked up too, a lot, and he knoes they learned from their mistakes just as he had (except c!techno FUCKKK c!techno mf doesnt learn SHITTT) and he knows, when the time comes he knows hed want the people he hurt to forgive him too. (And he wants Wilbur to do the same)

Next qoute i will cut to a couple parts because its really so good and full of character i had to bro

Foolish: "Do you consider yourself to be the good guy or the bad guy?"

Tommy: "It really depends who you ask, isn't it? Yknow? If you asked dream he'd say im *his little toy that he plays with* you know? It doesnt.."

This part really stunned me when i first heard it because, and correct me If im wrong, but i dont think tommy ever acknowledged how dream sees him, and  how right he has his viewpoint too. Just the fact tommy is so *painfully* aware of how dream doesnt even see him as a person anymore but just a toy to mess around with for a while than just throw it away when it get too boring really hurt me. Someone give this kid a hug

(Continued) Tommy: "...foolish, honestly? I used to consider myself 'the good guy', you know? The fuckin'- second in command! But these past- these past like six months or so, foolish, everything got so much harder than it was before. Because before it was just us vs bad guys, it was all so clear! But- its not been 'clear' for so long, right? It wasn't; 'these are the bad guys! These are the good guys!' Now it's : 'he's doing this and it makes him a bit worse-' i mean, it all got so complicated, so- i don't know. Depends who you ask."

He says this, in response to foolish asking if hes a good guy- but its awfully similar to if Wilbur asked him if they were the bad guys. Because foolish just asked about him, and yet in his answer tommy made sure to keep using the words "us, he's, guys" as if hes not really talking about himself, as if hes explaining how Wilbur was wrong. Which he was. Also something interesting ive noticed, he says "the last 6 months or so", which indicated that with Wilbur he knew better to follow his word and leadership- with Wilbur he was always on the right side but when he lost him he felt much more lost alone, and couldn't trust himself enough to be on the "right side" .

Foolish: "I dont know, it all seems strange because just from, you know- hearing from others and, you know, learing a little bit, its seems like you've been the hero, you've been the villain, the conqueror, the savior, and, even now, i have no idea what you exactly are."

Foolish couldn't be more right with what he said, another example of this we see where a character acknowledges tommy never sticks to one thing us Charlie when calling him "tommy fron nowhere" which shows more how he cant stick to one thing, during the course of him on the server he had been friends and enemy with nearly everyone, been on pretty much all sides, and while never really intentionally, being in the center of conflict. When foolish says he doesnt know who tommy is anymroe at this point and all Tommy says in return is that "hes a little weaker than he used to be" does to show he misses who he used to be, with lmanburg, with Wilbur, when he knew who he was, now he doesn't know who he is anymore, but still so desperately want to be more demonstrated by the lines coming rigth after that one:

Tommy want's to change- he wants to be better than he is now, to be closer to who he used to be, no matter how impossible that might be, but he also sees it as an immediate thing, he wants to change now, or asap, which is why hes collecting stone for Wilbur in the first place- old him would've done that with ease just because Wilbur asked and he wants to have that back so badly, asap. The way he talked about this reminded me of when he tried getting over his trauma stream before he went in the prison to kill dream: he knew he wasnt the best but he tried getting over that asap to go kill dream asap. He didnt wanna take the long road of years of healing and instead thought he could get over it just like that, and that experience clearly didnt teach him anything because now hes trying to slide back to the relationship he and Wilbur used to have and ignoring the drastic changes they both had plus the bad moments that were the reason they feel out in the first place, or maybe he knows, but at this point, after everything that happened to him and the server, he doesnt care anymore? He knows hes not the same he was and he'll never be the same, because thats not how it works, but his mentor, president, big brother is back after so long tommy felt so lost and alone he thinks maybe, this time around, with Wilbur, he could try and be better again.

what if (pre-split) Four's Dark Link is extremely arrogant, thinking he can do ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING on his own, that he needs no one as he's so infallible with all his skills and bravery and charm, but to the point Ganon is just "No, I cannot handle this guy. He wont listen, he looks like my enemy, he's a literal child, And I frankly want a vacation." So Ganon dips out to refresh and refuel his mind (Even the eternally incarnated host of a malevolent god needs to take care of himself to be in peak performance for taking over the world)

So Dark Four is free to just exist, goes on his own little chaotic adventure, an emerges in the light world to reign his own terror! He's been ever aware of his light counterpart, and truly believes Four is weak, as he has to split into Four beings to be a formidable foe. It doesnt take long for Four to hear of his evil twin taking over a temple or shrine, so he heads on over to find this arrogant ball of utter chaos. Dark Four is so busy monologuing about how great he is, that Blue forces a split so he can start telling this guy off, Red is trying to get Blue to stop arguing with the guy as "He just needs a family, he's had a tough life Blue, dont be mean!" Vio whispers something to Green and seems to wander off while Blue and DF (Def? Daf? Darf?) are still arguing, Green is trying to interject between the two hot heads, and get DF to come down and talk, and Vio, a legend of a guy, leisurely makes his way to the tippy top of the building DF is on, sneaks up behind him, and despite DF sensing Vio and turning in time to face his enemy, Vio disarms him and the two go tumbling down. Green, Blue, and Red spring into action to catch them, and DF is just spitting mad because he's too awesome to be taken down by a weakling who needs friends to get anything done.

So Four merges back into one, still keeping DF unarmed and pinned, but instead of arguing everything and trying to force DF to change, Four asks him

"What would make you happy?" And DF is so caught off guard, he has planned for multiple scenarios due to Four being so unpredictable, so DF awkwardly responds

"To kill you, become ruler of Hyrule, reign in chaos, and be better than you and Ganon!"

Four seems to sigh inwardly because this story is all too familiar

"Y'know, if you don't mind holding off killing me and ruling Hyrule, you can properly piss Ganon off by making him think you've aligned with me and Hylia. One of Ganons evil creations ignoring him and making friends with his enemy would definitely get his attention." And DF starts thinking about it, but he's stubborn and arrogant and just decides to state he'll kill Four now, and shove it in Ganons face that DF killed the enemy thats slaughtered Ganon countless times.

Four gets off DF, and tosses him a generic sword before drawing his own, not splitting, and looking DF in the eyes.

"Why do you have to show Ganon your better? Why prove you're better than me? Why not find your own path? But Four is just trying to reason with someone that embodies his arrogance from before the split and before he learned teamwork and friendship. Its not going to be a one conversation deal, so they have a battle, equally matched while Four is one, then Shadow comes back with a roasted fish, eating it off the stick, and Asks DF if he wants to team up and kidnap the princess. Four looks horrified, thanks to Green, Red, and Blue not expecting that at all. Vio is immediately cheering Shadow where DF cannot see.

DF thinks he can use Shadow, agrees, and runs off with Shadow, and Shadow takes DF on an adventure of personal growth, leaving Vio proud af and laughing, and the other three rightly concerned....

dont mind me, just expounding on what it would entail if gundham actually had real magic

gundham can ‘shadow walk’. basically hes not completely invisible, just makes himself less noticeable, but if you know he can do this, or know what to look for in terms of detection, you can pretty much make this moot. super sense of smell, sight, hearing and aura detection will help but other than that you either wont know hes there unless he makes himself known or if your character is astute, empathetic etc they may have the feeling of being watched

when he steps out of the shadows, so to speak, they fall off him like smoke. no real reason for this, i just think its neat. if hes getting angry or is trying to be intimidating he’ll ‘twist’ the shadows about him with the same effect

he can talk to animals, but only ones he has a connection with, and how effective this is can vary. his devas are a part of him in a way, he can understand them as if they were himself and vice versa. animals that are more trusting, ie. some dogs, cats, friendly animals in general, will have a ‘minor connection’. he can communicate ideas to them and they can do the same in turn, but its not a complete connection and will have its limitations. its more of a suggestion if he issues some sort of a command. animals that have a mistrust of people are less receptive if not completely out of tune with this, but it is very very rare the later happens. less receptive animals are anything wild, he can convey his intent and its up in the air if they’ll truly listen to him or not depending on what he is asking of them. any animal that has been severely abused will be unable to be swayed unless calmed or its proven they can trust him

animals ‘speak’ in the language they were raised with, and he can only understand those that speak Japanese or English. anything else is based on sensing and sharing their emotions instead of direct thoughts. there are some exceptions to this, ie. if the animals or gundham happens to know a singular word or phrase is a different langue for whatever reason

some of the animals he care for are magical in nature, though are hidden either though illusion magic of their own power or of his creation. the later is often held in a near indestructible collar or other such band, like that on a birds leg or a temporary ear/fin tag only able to be removed by him. if your character is also magic, there is a chance to see through this, or at the very least feel as if something is different about the animal. any sort of magic the animal posses is unable to be used or is severely negated form the collar to avoid detection

because the devas are a part of him in a spiritual sort of connection, they have a higher intelligence, close to that of a young child. they can carry out basic tasks and ‘speak’ to gundham, but they are still hamsters and thus have limitations. they also dont always realize not everyone can understand them, and can get frustrated if theyre trying to convey an idea and it goes unheard. they will have a general idea of where gundham is at all times because of this connection. they also have a longer life span, connected to gundham. as long as he persists, so do they

gundham has ‘ice touch’, basically his body temperature runs a bit colder than an average human, and if hes angry or upset, there will be a chill in the air or frost creeping out into his immediate surroundings. this is not a powerful thing and doesnt have much practical use beyond chilling a drink or dropping another persons body temperature a few degrees. because of this, heat is not something he favors in high amounts. his body temp may run cold, hence the constant scarf and coat, but if he gets too hot it becomes to much for him to combat and it will weaken him, making all his magic harder to cast and him more susceptible to adverse effects

his ‘poison touch’ just makes people uncomfortable when they touch him since its not something he often enjoys and wishes for it to happen as little as possible. this is an at will ability and if he is unconscious you will not be affected, and he may grant you an ‘immunity’ to it or take your ‘immunity’ away depending on how he feels about you in the moment

he uses many runes, some of his own making, combined from various sources and lore for whatever he needs them for, a sort of ‘mix and match’ spell. the one he uses the most is a ward against curses that raises his mental fortitude and makes it harder to read his mind or control him. this ward is contained in his hounds earring

his bandaged arm does indeed cover all his scars from his breeder profession, those are really nothing special, the bandages themselves however, are capable to unraveling themselves for other uses, such as an extent of his own fingers if his hands are bound. they act like snakes when he casts them at someone, but they are just simple enchanted gauze and are easily destroyed, especially if the red ball charm holding the magic together is severed, or if fire magic is used

his scarf also holds this power in a similar fashion, though is less effective because of the size of them garment. the enchantment is held together by the stitched pattern, if that part is cut in any way, it becomes just a normal scarf

his coat offers some protection against all elements, though is considered ‘light armor’ and under enough power its ability is weakened considerably. the enchantment is again held in the stitched pattern

his boots hold an enchantment that quiets his footsteps, only super hearing will be able to detect them 

the ‘scar’ is a sort of magical tattoo, it gives that eye minor enchanted sight that allows him to see magic trails/residue/auras. it and his left eye glow ever so slightly when this ability is being used

there is some truth in him being the product of an angel and a demon, the proof held in the color of his eyes. your muse may or may not pick up on this based on their arcane knowledge or abilities

he has a sort of ‘karma trigger’ the brings misfortune to those around him on occasion. he doesnt need to know that something has happened for this to take effect, its activated by sensing an ‘emotional trigger’ from anyone who needs it. every so often it will affect a stranger if hes in the area, but is more potent if he has an emotional connection with the victim. say youre a stranger and you get tripped by a bully and he happens to be in the room, if your emotional trigger is enough, that bully in turn will trip and fall within the next minute or so and any injuries they sustain are connected to the power of that unseen emotional state. if your a friend or loved one, the consequences of that fall will be more severe, more likely to result in a broken bone than a simple trip. this is proximity effective and it could be days before anything happens if he hasn’t been close to the victim in a while, and it has to opportunity to dissipate as time goes on. most refer to it as karma, but is a part of his ‘demonic’ half that he has no control over. the emotional trigger is a side effect of it being at ‘war’ with his angelic half, it not allowing anything truly heinous to happen, it must be justified and it must always be some sort of ‘benefit’ to half of the affected party

his demonic half also gives him an ‘intimidation aura’, though he is unable to control it. it is activated when he is angry

in turn, his ‘angelic’ half aids in his comforting aura, activated when it senses distress in him or someone he cares for 

this aura also acts as a pain reducer, though it is the equivalent of over the counter pain killers. this is exclusive only to him since it is at ‘war’ with his demonic half

he can see ghost, but only of animals and people with some sort of a connection to him, ie. ancestors or deceased friends. the animals often come to him for aid if they have an inability to cross over, either seeking revenge or some sort of blessing for their previous owners or outside party from when they were alive. he helps them whenever he can and can often be found wandering through graveyards in search of those who need him

ghosts cannot posses him unless they held powerful magic when they were alive, or if they are angelic or demonic in nature. his own duel nature prevents the possession of ‘average’ ghosts

was only recently employed as an afternoon shift employee and was both shocked and distressed after discovering the cafe didnt have an instagram

“what do you MEAN you dont have instagram??? how do we post selfies???” “sunoo we sell coffee” “NO ONE WANTS COFFEE JUNGWON THEY WANT CUTE BARISTAS”

starts an instagram for the cafe and takes aesthetic pictures of his latte art

his selfies get way more likes though

speaking of his latte art, he masters the skill like a week in and everyone else is incredibly jealous

their jealousy wears off when jungwon tells him that he has to start training the new apprentices

pretends he forgot how to do it for like a week but it hurts his pride so he begrudgingly agrees to train the apprentices instead

in his free time he can be found snapping pictures around the shop, eventually expanding to taking pictures of the others too

seen as though jungwon looks like the boss, you approach him, nervous for your first shift

he gestures you to follow him behind the counter, pulling an apron out from under the sink and shoving it to your chest

its clear that hes pissed, yanking his tools out from the cupboards as you tie your apron behind your back quietly

“have you made coffee before?” “only instant coffee” “oh fantastic”

he seems to be getting more irritated by the minute before he takes a deep breath and starts directing you around the machines

“to do the art, you angle the mug like this and draw with the milk, but it wont show until it reaches the top so dont go crazy”

as if its nothing, he demonstrates by drawing a perfect swan in the milk, setting the latte down and dusting his hands off

he grins at your compliment, nodding with satisfaction and sending a wave of relief over you as you notice he looks less angry with you now

your cheeks heat up immediately, but before you can say anything in return, he starts calling out for jungwon, leaning over the counter

“well thats up to them” he looks up from the table hes wiping down, adjusting his apron as he walks over to the counter

“so youre all finished with the course? i hope sunoo wasnt too much for you”

“i wasnt! anyways, youre employed, okay?” “sunoo stop theyre just an apprentice”

he groans loudly, irritated once more as he whips his head to you

“you have to work here, ok? i said so, so come back and apply or i’ll be mad!”

you laugh at his antics and smile “i’ll see what i can do”

after jungwon pries sunoo off of your arm, you return your apron and leave the shop with a wave

“YOU BETTER COME BACK!” is the last thing you hear as you step out onto the street, the bell ringing to signal your exit

a week later, you return to the shop, slightly anxious that your new friend(?) might have forgotten about you

but this is quickly washed away when you hear a high pitched squeal from the counter

you laugh as you approach the counter, a teasing tone on your voice

soon enough, jungwon comes out of his hiding place, his hands clasped together

you give sunoo a look, only receiving an innocent smile and puppy eyes back

“sure, i’ll take the job!”

jungwon sighs in relief as sunoo begins jumping up and down, yelling something about having his own little baby to take care around the shop as you groan, covering your blushing face

once you have your hours established (sunoo made you take the same as all of his, but you did the nights instead of the afternoons on the weekends, to his displeasure), you get straight to working

his eyes start watering again, your heart skipping a beat in fear that you had said something wrong

trying not to be creepy, you sigh, turning back to your phone after watching him for a solid five minutes straight

as you do, you hear a crash coming from what you assume is the supply closet followed by a disgruntled groan

pausing, looking around at the other customers typing away at their laptops and waiting for another staff member to go check on the boy, you stand up as you discern that he must be the only one working and hesitantly go to see if he’s okay

“hello? are you okay?” you peer through the door, your eyes widening at the sight of him rubbing his head with a wince on his features, supplies strewn around him at his feet and a box knocked over beside him

“ah… um, yes, i’m okay, sorry if i disturbed you with that noise…” he smiles bashfully, pulling himself back onto his feet

“do you need help with all of that stuff?”

he opens his mouth to protest, not wanting to have to ask for help from a customer, but after seeing the amount of crap off of the shelves, he realises that there is no way in hell he’s going to be able to clean all of it up alone before his shift ends

over the next couple of hours you two establish a little system of bagging the spilt supplies and passes them to eachother to put in boxes, chatting never ceasing as you discover that you actually have a lot of things in common

“since you work here, what’s your favourite kind of coffee?” “i like lattes… i cant stand bitter things” “me too! my friend drinks espressos though” “ditch them”

you also find out that he started being homeschooled after becoming the manager as he doesnt have time to attend normal school

the both of you find yourselves laughing nonstop, having fun in eachother’s company

so much so that you end up late for school

guilty for making you late, he offers to take you

getting back into his seat, the lovestruck smile never leaving his face as he drives off, he begins to count down the minutes until he gets to see you again

technically an apprentice but he gets paid and has been there forever so basically an employee at this point

or he would be if he ever actually made coffee

he sits with the work phone all morning and chooses the music

perpetually dancing to 7 rings by ariana grande (look up his cover. youre welcome in advance)

jungwon and jay scream at him to at least do the mopping to which he complies, but not without performing a whole ass concert with it

once they saw him twirl and dip the mop

eventually they just told him to go back to curating the music because he was scaring customers away and they were losing business

he was horrible at cleaning anyway

makes choreography to said songs at home and tries to impress you by casually belting it out by your booth

when you compliment his dancing and ask how long hes been practicing that choreography hes all like “oh hahaha it was just casual freestyle super easy peasy”

thought he was being super obvious by doing these things but apparently nOT because you have not caught the hint at all and hes getting impatient

asks for advice from the others begrudgingly

eventually he settles on sunoo’s idea of making you latte art and he embarks on his journey to make his first coffee

rather than focusing on the actual taste, sunoo tells him to just do whatever so that he can show him how to do the art

“why is it green ni-ki” “you said to do whatever” “and your first idea was to make poison? idk if this is the best idea if youre trying to ask this person out” “shut up and pass me the milk”

burns his hands on the steaming milk jug at least fifteen times and ends up with so many bandaids on his fingers

despite how stiff the bandages are on his hands, he eventually manages to make a sort-of legible heart

“it looks like africa” “have you ever had steamed milk poured on your eyes sunoo?”

poor ni-ki waits for you all day, his heart leaping every time the bell on the door rings only to roll his eyes when it isnt you

he even stays past his shift so youd better let him take you on a date or hes quitting

when you finally arrive he trips over the bucket at his feet he was using to clean and spills dirty water all over his pants

“omg ni-ki are you okay what happened” *five octaves higher* “NOTHING I'M COMPLETELY FINE WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT”

by the time he’s finished cleaning himself up (and by that i mean fixing his hair in the mirror for twenty minutes) he takes a deep breath and walks over to you, somewhat cold latte in hand

“um,” he clears his throat, his face growing red as he slides the mug towards you “i made this for you”

“aw thanks ni-ki! why is it green” “........its matcha?”

youre slightly suspicious but you look back to the mug and slowly realise that the “drawing” slightly resembles a heart, smiling a little bit to yourself

when you look back to him, youre a little confused as to why hes just standing there

“is something wrong?” you press the mug to your lips, taking a sip

“o-uh uh actually, i wanted to ask if… if you would uh maybe sort of go on a date with me”

you can only smile

“yes, but…”

his heart starts beating faster, watching you anxiously

you stand up, taking the notepad and pen from his apron pocket and scribbling your phone number

“only if you promise to learn how to make actual coffee” you wink, handing him the notepad and sauntering out of the shop

hes stood there dumbstruck, stars in his eyes at the slip of paper in his hand

but then he realises: he has a new mission

rushing to the back room, he slams the door open

“grandpa, i need you to teach me how to make coffee right now” “literally why do i pay you”

with your promise in mind, the others see him work more diligently at the counter than they ever have before

“wow youre actually working today?” “shut up i need to figure out how to do this butterfly before i pry my eyes out with a fork” “haha funny joke ni-” “did i stutter”

at the end of the week, he forces heeseung (the cafe’s best coffee maker) and sunoo (the cafe’s best latte artist) to judge his latte

“this is… surprisingly good” heeseung peers into the mug, smiling at the swan ni-ki created with the latte foam as sunoo grumbles “dont tell me im gonna have to start competing with this kid, it probably tastes gross” “it tastes amazing too” “im quitting”

with his coworkers’ notes in mind, he finally works up the nerve to send you a quick message telling you to come into the shop

when you arrive the next day, ni-ki greets you and immediately gets to work, making sure to stand as close as humanly possible to your booth so he can show off his newly acquired coffee making skills

with you only inches away, he does make a mistake and spill milk on his shirt after looking at you and not his hands for a second too long, but you decide to give him the benefit of the doubt when he sets the mug in front of you

“wow! this heart is perfect!”

you smile, looking up to him “did you seriously learn how to do latte art just so you could take me on a date?” “… y-yeah, and?”

you can only chuckle as you press the mug to your lips, readying yourself to drink liquid dirt…

“this is… really good!” you grin, taking another sip and putting the mug down on its saucer

“i think you’ve definitely earned yourself a date… or two”

at this news, ni-ki’s face lights up, shoving the urge to scream down his throat before nodding stiffly to try and contain his excitement with a strained “cool” escaping his lips

“are you okay ni-ki?” “yes just give me one second”

he quickly scrambles to the break room, a moment of silence wafting through the store before a shrill scream fills the air

eyes wide, you turn to jay, who had been manning the till, after hearing him burst into laughter

“what is he doing?”

“we told him the freezer was sound proof”
