Ten of Coins - ISAT Tarot Project
I played In Stars and Time very shortly after it came out and it rewired my brain in ways that may be irreversible forever. So when I heard there was a Tarot Card Project going on in the official Discord, I ran to claim one of the few cards that were left.
Definitely recommend the game to anyone that's a fan of rpgs, found family, timeloops, and good queer stories.

In The Skeleton Tarot Deck, the Ten of Coins features a family of skeletons, all wearing crowns, embracing each other. Rays of sunlight shine out of them, and they are surrounded by ten radiating coins, each bearing a six-fingered hand.
This image symbolizes family, legacy, and the culmination of long-term efforts. It can also represent the benefits of living cooperatively or following established ways. The crowned skeletons represent the honor and respect that come with building a lasting legacy. The rays of sunlight and the radiating coins highlight the joy, prosperity, and stability that come from strong familial bonds and accumulated wisdom.
Meaning When Drawn: When you draw this card, it signifies a new interest in or fulfillment from community and family life, creating lasting change, or building a legacy that benefits future generations. Fulfillment: Take time to enjoy the fulfillment that comes from your long-term efforts. Are you recognizing and celebrating your achievements?
When this card appears in reverse:
Family Discord: There may be issues or conflicts within your family or community. Are there unresolved tensions that need to be addressed?
Neglecting Legacy: Consider if you are neglecting the importance of your long-term legacy. Are your actions aligned with the future you want to create?
Isolation: Be mindful of becoming too isolated or detached from your loved ones. Are you maintaining strong connections and support systems?

cannot stop thinking about weird barbie and queercoding and how her subplot mirrors margot robbie barbie’s main plotline and the Implications of it all. because like. weird barbie is introduced as this outsider who lives on the fringes of barbieland society (it’s intentionally never made clear whether she was exiled or chose to set up camp there herself; the way mckinnon plays her makes me think probably a mix of both) who, as one of the other barbies (i want to say alexandra shipp/the author?) explains, was one of the prettiest barbies until a little girl played with her too hard, and now she’s an outcast. the barbies call her Weird Barbie behind her back and to her face. this is because of something she couldn’t control (first parallel to robbie’s barbie, whose crisis is brought on by gloria’s own feelings of negativity) and yet she’s forced away because of it. going to hop onto a brief tangent here and say one of the things that never sat right with me in toy story 3 was the weird...demonization? of the preschoolers who chew on/break/otherwise harm the toys because in a story where the Very Ultimate Dream of any toy is to be loved and played with it’s bizarre that they then seemed to be saying well, actually, there are Wrong ways to play with toys when these kids didn’t know any better. and it would’ve been easy for that to be weird barbie’s deal - a freaky little girl played with her in the “wrong” way and doomed her as a result. but she gets to be a hero! she leads the resistance!
robbie’s barbie is immune to ken’s brainwashing bc she experienced the real world’s misogyny and more specifically felt gloria’s messy complex human emotions - her “dark and crazy” drawings, as sasha calls them - stemming from the pain of being a woman in society. weird barbie has never been to the real world and still manages to stay immune, along with her mansion of misfit toys (including, as other tumblr users have pointed out, magic earring ken aka Gay Ken) - there’s layers to that. in both robbie’s barbie’s and weird barbie’s cases, their girls placed Weird and Unpleasant feelings onto the perfect ideal that is Barbie™ and absolutely upended their lives as a result - but they became fully realized people because of it. barbie chooses to go back to the real world to live as a human woman because she wants to feel all those messy and bizarre human feelings! she loves them! she loves humanity and the avenues through which she reaches that love are women being unabashedly freaky and weird both within and outside of her understanding of the world she lives in. what a queer experience. what a way to showcase that scary exciting feeling of being on the very fringes of girlhood and needing to define it for yourself. pink birkenstocks. she leaves barbieland better than she found it. she can’t stay there anymore. she loves the people around her and she loves herself and that self-love is something she’s earned now. weird barbie gets to run sanitation. gloria’s ideas for ordinary barbie foster understanding. barbie is sasha’s stepmom now probably. greta gerwig you’ve done it again.

Honestly Ozai’s treatment of zuko and Azula was probably less about who they were and more about him projecting what he wishes his father would have done for him with Iroh.
He is after all a second born child himself and he’s always just wanted his father to see that he was the better child.
Azula was never a person to Ozai not really she was just his self insert in the fanfiction he was writing himself. It’s why she stops mattering the moment he finds something bigger than being fire lord.

Mermay 2022. 10 of coins.
As the first of the “minor” cards, I had some decisions to make here, above and beyond “how am I going to represent this specific card”. I decided that the numbers would be written in Arabic not Roman numerals, and I’m not going to force suit symbols into an image, and that this suit would be called “coins” and not “pentacles” or “disks”. Because aside from “pentacles” being a weird-looking word, it’s also pretty long which would make it annoying to fit in as text. For the rest of Mermay, I’ll be still drawing more of these, but no real order to them other than “the order in which I decided that this was going to be one of the nine minor cards I needed to fill out the month”. (Speaking of “deciding”, I picked this one first because I noticed it had two dogs in it, and that was a yes.)
I should give a shoutout to @comparativetarot, because that blog is where I’ve done most of my “card meaning” research; not for ones where I already have a good grasp on what it is, but when I’m struggling to understand it, or even just when I’m having a bit of trouble figuring out how I want to represent it.
The minor cards don’t have as much room for symbolism in them, because they tend to depict events more than archetypes. Which, less stuff I need to keep in mind, so I’m good with it. About all I did here, was making sure that the child had features of both other figures in the background, one of which matches the figure in the foreground, to try and convey “generations”.
The progress thread for this piece can be found here.

Tens of Thousands of Ancient Roman Coins Found off Sardinia
A diver who spotted something metallic not far from Sardinia’s coast has led to the discovery of tens of thousands of ancient bronze coins.
Italy’s culture ministry said Saturday that the diver alerted authorities, who sent divers assigned to an art protection squad along with others from the ministry’s undersea archaeology department.
The coins dating from the first half of the fourth century were found in sea grass, not far from the northeast shore of the Mediterranean island. The ministry didn't say exactly when the first diver caught a glimpse of something metallic just off shore Sardinia, not far from the town of Arzachena.
Exactly how many coins have been retrieved hasn’t been determined yet, as they are being sorted. A ministry statement estimated that there are at least about 30,000 and possibly as many as 50,000, given their collective weight.

All the coins were in an excellent and rare state of preservation,” the ministry said. The few coins that were damaged still had legible inscriptions, it said.
“The treasure found in the waters off Arzachena represent one of the most important coin discoveries," in recent years, said Luigi La Rocca, a Sardinian archaeology department official.
La Rocca added in a statement that the find is “further evidence of the richness and importance of the archaeological heritage that the seabed of our seas, crossed by men and goods from the most ancient of epochs, still keep and preserve.”

Firefighter divers and border police divers were also involved in locating and retrieving the coins.
The coins were mainly found in a wide area of sand between the underwater seagrass and the beach, the ministry said. Given the location and shape of the seabed, there could be remains of ship wreckage nearby, the ministry said.
