Four come to mind immediately.

„Jenseits der Stille“ because I used to play the clarinet and had the sheet music. It’s not super difficult to play and still very beautiful.

„Cruel Intentions“ because Placebo and The Verve and Counting Crows and Skunk Anansie and Aimee Mann and …

„Velvet Goldmine“ because Pulp and Venus in Furs and Steve Harley‘s „Make me smile“ and Roxy Music‘s excellent „2 H.B.“ which is a love letter to another one of my favorite movies.

„Pieces of April“ because it‘s all Stephin Merritt and made me fall in love with his band The Magnetic Fields and led to the discovery of many more awesome songs. One song has these wonderful lines:

12. Do you prefer baking or cooking?

Cooking. I find it relaxing. Not super elaborate stuff but a nice curry or one pot pasta or a casserole. Something where I can first cut some vegetables (and sometimes meat), put everything on the cooker or in the oven and can tidy up as I go along.

They are event (e.g. gym, vacation) or mood (e.g. good songs for bad days) based.

6. What does your dream home look like?

A small house, a small garden, out in nature, some nice hills and ways for some bicycle tours. With kindness and love and no such things as hate and malice.

14. What is your opinion on poetry?

Poetry, in all its glorius forms (and I would count fanfiction writing as well), is a wonderful way to get your mind off of the daily routine and take your mind away just for a while. Maybe its light and uplifting, or maybe it gets you to think about certain thinks. But it will make you feel one way or another.

Poetry in all its forms is wonderful if your open to it.

20. If you were to cultivate a fruit orchard, what would you grow?

He leaned forward and pushed his glasses up his nose; behind them, his eyes were slightly wide, but focused on her. “You can say no,” he repeated, earnestness written across his face and Reyna appreciated his candor, but it was halfway to giving her a panic attack. “You have to ask me for me to say no,” she said, and the corner of his mouth turned up in a smile before he let out a long breath, pushing back in the chair. He looked at her from his seat, expression inscrutable, and then he closed his eyes. “I’m going to go into a rut,” he said, finally, and Reyna’s mind fully stalled. She cleared her throat. "So, what, do you want me to house sit?" Leander reached for the mug again, is fingers curling around the outside of it. He was steadying himself, and when his eyes met hers again, there was something deeply vulnerable in them. "I'm asking if you'll help me through it," he said.

this semester, in lieu of a full course load, i decided to do an experiential semester and do an externship while taking one in-person seminar. luckily, the credits amount to a full semester so it's a really good opportunity :)) yesterday was the first day of my externship! i still didn't have much to do today either so i journaled at a café and kept an eye on my inbox before my seminar...

blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most) moon was designed in a lab to appeal to me personally, so. it's about the trust issues!

scrunkly (my "baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped) the sky copper clutch!! traumatized children imprinting on a guy with baby fever is usually what i go to fanfic for so to have it right there in canon? incredible. i love all of frost's little tantrums and idk, just the way that she claims moon as her family in a way that has nothing to do with court politics? she's like, we're your clutch, obviously. and this is our court because it's your court, and all the other jabronis who live here are on thin ice. she's ready to throw down with moon's wife/the government at all hours of the day and she's like six years old. i love that moon has that energy in his life even though he personally is pretty confused and exhausted by it lol.

scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave) it's hard out here for an ember stan because he is in so few scenes relative to the space he occupies in my psyche! i need 5000% more interactions between him and moon. him and stone. him and shade. him and river. him and the teachers. him and the clutches. him and jade and balm and chime. oh my god him and malachite? him and celadon? him and delin??

glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week) niran. i'm always up for a "longsuffering ship captain resigns himself to another restless night of hearing gigantic shapeshifters with incredible stamina fuck nasty on the roof of his cabin" moment. technically i have never been in that exact situation, but i feel like i can relate.

horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason) stone. every time he crankily says "why did i ever reproduce" upon finding himself entangled in yet another ridiculous clusterfuck thanks to one of his hundreds of idiot great-great-great-great-great grandchildren, an angel gets its wings. he's depressed and antisocial but he can't totally check out because he has to mediate relationship issues between his dumbass relatives. love that for him.

eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell) malachite but specifically because malachite would not be scared of superhell. she'd skulk around being invisible, maybe fuck some shit up if she felt like it, and leave when she got bored. she probably makes it like. opal night's sister city or something. and nobody in the court is at all phased. yeah that's our reigning queen who recently got back from vacation in superhell. she does that. she says it's relaxing.

10. Do you have a favourite classic novel?

Thomas Manns „Der Zauberberg“ because I read it years after it was in my master’s exam’s canon and discovered that, yes, it is actually brilliant and a joy to read even though it’s still 200 pages too long. (Back then I had to choose an author, a genre and a period for the oral exam – so it was a whole bunch of dramas, poetry and novels, and in the period I chose, Neue Sachlichkeit, Mann was a counter example more or less, so I kind of winged it with the Sekundärliteratur :D)

13. Which season do you feel at home in?

Autumn that feels like a kind of softer summer in Italy, Greece or Portugal. And spring in Hamburg if it’s not to rainy.

3. What do you order at a café?

Sooo definitely NO COFFEE 😅. Tea or hot chocolate (when its cold) or ice tea or cola (when its warm). And if I could get some food maybe Waffen, maybe a crepe or warm apfelstrudel (yes that os the actual english translation 😂). Mainly something sweet and I'm good 😊.

8. What are your top three films? Books?

I would like to add more films since I got more films that I like than books. When I think about it some more I haven't really touched a book in years 😳. And I really was reading a lot and thick books once upon a time 🙈.

Films:

- "We Bought A Zoo" - I really just love that dilm and the soundtrack, it hits so close to home and still has this beautiful message. There is one scene in that film that and with the music playing in that moment brings me to tears every time I see it again even though I have seen it like a hundred times 🥰😭❤️.

You only need to be brave for 20 seconds ...

- Tatort episodes "Querschläger" and "Schattenleben" - Querschläger because, well surprise, Julia Grosz/Franziska Weisz and Tine Geissler 😍❤️. And Schattenleben because it was the first ever Julia centric episode ever ❤️.

- "Hachiko" - For dog lovers the most beautiful and destroying movie ever 😭💔. Even though you know the story, you know how it ends, you will still cry like a baby.

- "The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep" - Its like Free Willy but without a captured animal. Seriously, I love that movie, even though its a movie for kids. Just like I love "The Last Unicorn" 🥰❤️.

Books:

- My mainly favourite book series is the one from Dresden author Kai Leuner. I really loved and enjoyed them and would have loved to read much more, but sadly there were only for of them, but I still love them. It has crime, a female police officer and a female attorney, who are both attracted to each other. And it plays in Dresden 🥰❤️.

- Iceland Defrosted - It has a chapter (or more? I can't remember) about Sigur Rós ❤️❣️. Do I need to say more? So it's actually a book about iceland out of the eyes of a british iceland and puffin fanboy. And it is so full of love and humor its just really awesome.

- "Zwischen uns die Zeilen" - A very beautiful story about two women falling in love. I can only recommend warm and whole heartedly.

- And I loved Patricia Cornwells book series about fictional characted Kay Scarpetta.

13. Which season do you feel at home in?

Spring and summer, early autumn maybe. When the world starts to blossom again. Birds come back and start singing their blues. The world comes alive again. The colours change. And temperatures won't drop below 15 degrees. And I will make bicycle tours again once it warms enough (for me 😅).

Wait is her psychiatrist Hannibal?!?!

Hey!! Something like that 🙂 her psychiatrist is heavily inspired by Hannibal.

I really enjoyed Silence of the Lambs and the Hannibal series and movies. I haven't read the books which I really should. But I am super interested in Hannibal as a character. I'm also a firm enjoyer of the cannibal trope as both a metaphor for love but also exploitation of power/ego.

Shes a redhead with a 70s blowout. Think curtain bangs but this is another image that is very her energy.

Amulya's psychiatrist is a woman by the name of Milana Spezia Deodato. She is an Italian woman that originates from a family of werewolf hunters. From a young age she was raised to be a hunter and it caused her to develop some peculiar behaviors and habits as a result. On the outside though, she is a very intelligent woman who at most seems a little eccentric and polite but snooty. She is also known as a very good cook! She was hired in the 1970s by Hellsing via a recommendation l from Sir Islands.

In my lore, I have it as Islands beinf part of the roundtable but his family owns and runs hospitals. Milana did her years of residency at one of the hospitals that the Islands operated. She obviously made an impression with the family and Islands himself for her background in monster hunting and how she was researching how to apply it to her field of psychiatry. Islands suggested her to Arthur for a new department of Hellsing that was focused in rehabilitating individuals who had experienced encounters with the supernatural. This was in hopes of keeping the operations of Hellsing from the public more and that people could return to normalcy in an easier fashion. Some people who have those experiences never exactly recover.

For Milana, she was given people to research and treat, while she got a good paycheck. But it also gave her plenty of food. Her cannibal habits are not known by anyone in Hellsing(aside from Walter ofc but listennn). Anybody she takes are simply seen as having fallen in battle and missing. She was always very good at covering her tracks.

Arthur handing Amulya to her was out of desperation because realistically, Amulya couldn't express the worries she had to any psychiatrist. It would put Hellsing at risk. Additionally, it gave Amulya someone in-house to talk to. If she had an episode, she always had immediate support through someone with actual experience and licensing.

Amulya came to rely on her and was being treated properly for some time. Many of her lapses was due to her own spiraling.

Milana had varying thoughts on her. She found her intriguing and a good ticket to get a look at what Arthur is like behind closed doors. She found herself very entertained by her dynamic between Amulya and Walter. She knew of his feelings from observing them both. It wasn't neccesarily wanting to match them up but more that she was interesting in seeing what would happen. The possibilities, the reactions of them all. She did eventually get bored of the situation. Milana did know Amulya was going to commit suicide before it occurred. It was how it affect Arthur, Walter, and anyone else in the organization. She got what she wanted, though she was out under alot of pressure by Arthur after the fact but Amulya's death was seen as her mental state getting the better of her.

After one of her attempts, Milana did start doing sessions with Walter. It was a conflict of interest but they couldn't exactly afford anyone outside of the organization. Their sessions was ordered by Arthur so Walter couldn't exactly refuse. Walter was never a fan of her. She had a habit of prodding anyone she talked to so he felt like he was always under a microscope. He never wanted to be analyzed while all she wanted to do was analyze him. Milana knew he was involved in an organization separate from Hellsing while he found out she was a murderer and cannibal. He was disgusted with her despite his own actions. Really they were two fucked up individuals that found a messed up but hesitant (on Walter's side) kinship with one another.

Milana remains in Hellsing till after the battle of London where she moves to America for a new start and new roster of meals.
