reflections on my two weeks living in nyc again, feat. 192 books, a really cool bookstore i found in chelsea 💗 i'm still figuring out the trajectory of this blog but once i start work (tomorrow, eep!), this may just turn into a workblr or nyc "travel" tumblr??

i'm SO relieved. it's fun to go back and look back at my posts from this summer. although i wish i had posted more, i was so nervous about not passing that i didn't want to take too much time out of studying to take pictures and post them :((

currently doing peachtober for the first time in my hobonichi 5-year🍑 !! i've never been much of an artist but this is my best attempt.. i haven't done today's entry yet but yesterday, i went into the city to trim my bangs and explore union market 📚☕️

recently, i went to visit a friend in nevada and had a great time exploring cafés, bookstores, and vintage shops !! i fell in love with this portable royal typewriter with dark green keys but wasn't able to take it home with me :'((

really fun day today !! i took an inkmaking workshop at the smithsonian ✒️🫐🌼 we were instructed to forage for any plants or berries in our neighborhood, which i did yesterday ! i extracted ink from chives and pokeberries. we also had a lot of goldenrod ink left over so i was able to bring it home as a pen. our instructor told us that civil war soldiers used pokeberry juice as ink to write love letters due to its vibrant magenta color 💓 it also stains like hell whoops

📦 guess what finally arrived the other day….. my 2025 hobonichi planner !!! i got the yumi kitagishi weeks and matching pencil board, as well as the 2025 weekly accessory and a lavender pilot kakuno with an extra fine nib

after much deliberation, i decided to keep it simple with only one omnibus 2025 planner. i was originally going to get two—one work and one personal, but knowing how utilitarian i am with planners, i was probably going to end up abandoning one. i do plan on using the 2025 weekly accessory exclusively for work, specifically tracking my hours and time blocking everyday

one of my planner goals in 2025 is to treat my planner as more than just a receptacle for to-do lists and appointments. thus, i decided to start an interest log in the back pages. it's basically my modification of a commonplace journal. but instead of doing a deep dive on one topic, i just want to keep track of things that have caught my interest (e.g., fashion show, poem, author, book, song...) and write down a short blurb or excerpt. the goal is to later return to them and do a deeper dive :)))

fun confession: this now-defunct/deleted tumblr (study-yrnotes) was my studyblr back in high school !! i don't really have any way to prove it but i will look for my old bullet journal since i'm at my parent's house :D i went a little "viral" with this specific post (this has over 14K notes atm) but back then, way more people were active on tumblr than they are now. also, the studyblr community was really big on consumerism (still is, tbh) but these mildliners had everyone in a chokehold so i "strategically" took a picture with the sets i bought hehe...

i'm really grateful that people reblogged my old posts so i can still find them floating around on the internet, despite me deleting the tumblr after like 5 posts. i got rid of my studyblr because i was self-conscious with the attention and because i started the blog right before i graduated high school, i had no content to post over the summer. i also only use planners for tasks so if i don't have anything to do, the planner will get abandoned. i sometimes think about how my life would've looked like if i maintained my old studyblr but a part of me thinks that i probably would've wasted too much time on it instead of studying (a pitfall with studyblrs, i think). hence, not starting my current studyblr until 3L fall when things became less busy for me :))

i've been doing well, thank you for the ask !! i'm in this weird limbo time period atm because i'm no longer a student but i also don't start work until next month. all i do is watch films, go to pilates, and lie down in bed😁😁 which is awesome except i also have no health insurance and no salary, so i can't move in early or go anywhere to spend money haha

Do you know this feeling, that the world had brighter colours when you were a child? Your blog shows a little bit of these bright colours, and I like that a lot.

(belated) new pen alert + updating my 5-year hobonichi ! a few months ago, i got a lamy safari in the piña colada colorway. unfortunately, the EF nib was SO scratchy and awful, but i got a replacement nib and switched to a different ink, and it flows much better! it is not my favorite fountain pen but i do love how colorful the body is. i'm also behind on my 5-year hobonichi so i have been filling in past missing entries, such as my trip to copenhagen and stockholm last month 💆‍♀️ although not being a student anymore feels strange, i have so much time to catch up on my previously neglected journals :))

one thing i really enjoy doing in my journal is writing down beautiful poems, passages from novels, and film reviews that i come across. a few weeks ago, i watched la chimera and it was one of the best movies i've seen in the past decade. i'm still thinking about it, weeks later.... beautiful movies beget beautiful film reviews so i wrote down an excerpt of an nyt review🏺

haven't journaled in a while and i was feeling a little burnt out/sick of desks so i decided to sit in a chair and journal on my laptop case/on my lap instead of at a table. please enjoy this very soothing green plant in natural sunlight🪴💚 i really took delight in resting my eyes on it hehe...

i'm trying to strike a balance between complaining and uh... not complaining but it's so hard😭 civil procedure has come back to bite me in the ass. it was my lowest grade in law school and one of the densest/most abstract subjects i've encountered, so i am absolutely terrified and shaking in my boots. i'm staying positive, however, and will not let it crush my spirit !!!
