as a child there's nothing cooler than a kid who gets subjected to evil experiments and gains special abilities. it's even cooler if these abilities also cause unfathomable suffering to use/against others. children love stories like this.

i genuinely hate how people have to sit and write a post that stands out while boosting a fundraiser because most people won't bat an eye at the misery and inhumane conditions Palestinians are living in.
i see people making art and telling others to use it because fundraisers with art are generally reblogged more often. i see people using colored text in order to make the post more eye catching.
palestinians on instagram are using popular audios and stitch trending reels at the beginning to make the world pay attention to them. imagine having to make something look entertaining in order to survive.
they are living under constant threat of israeli airstrikes, bombing, scarcity of food and disease. many have lost a lot in the past few months.
palestinians on tumblr are posting their pictures and the horrible conditions in which they are living. they travel long distances for internet connection only to be called a scammer by some privileged ass who cannot locate gaza on a map.
here are some verified gfms. please share the linked posts. it's the bare minimum we can do from the comforts of our home.

EVERY SINGLE DAY there are MILLIONS of characters in their late 20s who get falsely accused of being father figures to teenagers when in reality the description of "weird older cousin" or "step-sibling that moved out before you were born" is 1000000x more apt

I genuinely feel like an alien compared to my coworkers when they try to chat with me about things like dating and weight loss. like what are you SAYING about "oh you know it's just so hard to make your man understand the instructions you give him?" why are you trying to connect with me by complaining that you gained 15 pounds? is this how most people form connections in the workplace? i for real do not get it

percy, holding out his fist in his palm: ok wise girl. rock paper scissors time. if i win, i get to pick the movie for date night
annabeth, doing the same: fine, but if i win, we move back across the country to that house in westchester that i love
grover, looking over in alarm: what?! how is that even—
percy, nodding firmly: deal. rock pap—

for the past several months, palestinian men have shown a great amount courage and bravery in the face of danger.
they have dug people and children out of rubble, sometimes alive and sometimes dead. they have travelled miles and miles to provide food and water for their family.
they have come online pleading with everyone to help them. many travel long distances for internet connection. they have been on the frontlines for months, providing for their family, documenting the genocide, helping people and in many instances, dying.
in return, they have been dehumanised, their lives are not counted as 'precious' because they are men. people have been indifferent to their suffering and death. they have been called scammers, all while they face the dangers of airstrikes, food and water scarcity, and disease. they have been dehumanised to such an extent that people refuse to help their fundraisers.
i urge you all to share the linked posts and donate what you can spare to those who are suffering. we owe it to them, for we never talk about their suffering.

It's weird feeling like an outsider in my family home where I spent my early teens.
This house was built by my mother, solely thinking it would be just us for the rest of time. Then 3 years later she got together with a man, whom a further 3 years after she would marry.
That marriage led to me no longer being an only child at the ripe old age of 21. A beautiful set of twins whom I adore. They are now 5 years old. By the time they were born I was already moved out of the house, fully independent from parents.
Then to complicate matters my older sister/not sister moved in. This is the really complex part. We knew eachother since childhood. She is a Belarussian who has been spending summers here since 2003 and moved permanently 4 years ago. Soon after she became a live in nanny for my siblings and here she has stayed.
Here I sit, them talking as family and me on my phone feeling like an outsider in the home I spent many years calling my own.
