What are your thoughts on Dick and Talia’s relationship? Because I’ve always found it a) interesting and b) funny as shit. I adore your metas so I’m very interested on your thoughts/interpretations of them

the fact that we missed out on frigid dick + talia co-parenting during bruce’s timestream sabbatical because grant morrison is a hack makes me SO mad because it’s objectively the funniest thing they could’ve done

they’re both such haters who tragically love the same two waynes deeply. they both feel like they understand bruce the best and hate each other for it. talia was beefing with a child and the child decided to absurdly escalate the situation. dick’s begrudging, malicious respect for talia’s abilities. talia unfortunately trusting dick to take care of damian in bruces absence. he finds out talia helped jason plant a bomb on the batmobile and adds another tally on his comically large reasons i hate my stepmother pinboard.

they both attend a parent teacher conference and refuse to make eye contact. they argue about extra curriculars. bruce comes back but talia still ccs dick on the email chain about damian’s school fees. damian is enjoying the attention and starts nonchalantly saying ‘mother says….’ and ‘mother does this for me…’ just to see dick’s face turn purple with rage

A small idea that popped into my brain 💡

This is totally random but I would love to read a Jason Todd fic a la John Wick style. Everything is still the same (relatively)

Jason is adopted by Bruce the same way (stealing the batmobile tires)

Jason becomes Robin

He’s great at it! He’s happy, kind, and a great relief to see for the citizens of Gotham

He and Dick eventually get around to having a lukewarm brotherly relationship

He still gets murdered by the Joker and somehow miraculously wakes up 6 months later in his grave (somehow. That’s up to you)

Here’s where it differs: More below ⬇️

The League of Assassin’s still picks him up and Talia trains him, eventually becoming like a mom to him

and he is a brother to Damian

Jason subsequently gets sent on missions, The Continental Hotels are run by the LoA

Due to his extensive training with both Bruce and Talia, Jason is quite a formidable enemy; even more so since the Pit fixed his years of malnutrition

He’s efficient. So efficient that he’s made quite the reputation.

Like in the first John Wick film (all the films tbh), the antagonist goes to his son,

“I don’t care about what you did, son. I care about who you did it to.”

“Who? That fuckin’ nobody?”

“That. Fuckin. Nobody. Is John Wick Jason al Ghul.”

The “Pit Madness” is barely there, only flaring up when Jason is under extreme duress (such as rage or heavy fear)

Due to this reputation, Jason has no trouble overtaking the crime syndicates in Gotham. We saw how effective he was in UtRH (I did this in two hours. Wanna see what I can do in a whole evening?) imagine him now a la John Wick. Unstoppable.

He went back to Gotham both to kill the Joker but to make sure Damian was okay

Jason holds resentment towards the rest of his family (excluding Alfred) to him, his death was meaningless. Jokers still alive hurting people, there’s a new Robin.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome. Jason is going to change that.

Jason doesn’t attack Tim. He’s just a kid, a teenager. His anger is more directed towards Bruce (“You’re not my son. I don’t need your teenage rebellion.” and the fact it seems he so easily replaced him.), Dick (why does Tim get to be Dick’s brother but not Jason? What’s so bad about him?) and even Barbara when she resented him for replacing Dick as Robin. Misdirecting her anger into a kid rather than Bruce.

Damian is proud to call Jason his brother and only addresses him with the al Ghul surname. Not Todd. Not Wayne. Not Todd-Wayne. al Ghul. Jason is an al Ghul down to his bone marrow, he gets affectionately called Ahki (brother)

This makes the rest of the fam stir crazy. Who is he? Is he Bruce’s kid? What’s his goal, his plan? Why’s he in Gotham now?

Idk what else to add but I’d DIE to have a fic with this concept. I love Jason so much. Especially all the Jason and Damian meet in the League fics on AO3.

Second of all. God. Right?? I alarmed a few of my IRL friends. I read books 1&2 back to back. I stayed up way too late finishing book 2 and had to go to work the next day and all I could think about was getting home to read book 3. Today I read the short story collection. I love them your honor OTL

Laurent reminded me of some of my favorite Tim interpretations every now and then - always having something cutting to say, needing alone time to think and then coming up with not only a new, better plan but setting five other things in motion to support it. Being very reluctantly in love with a man who could very easily kill him who said that

Damen was made in a lab for Me Specifically, and he reminded me of how I like to write Jason too sometimes alskdndks just. Being fed up 24/7 with awful people doing awful things, sassy rejoinders that he simply cannot stop himself from saying. That "too late, sweetheart" early early in the first book was SUCH a Jason moment to me, I could see that bath scene happening SO easily with jaytim skcnfjdkjd

If (IF!!!!) I were gonna write jaytim captive prince style (and not just my gladiator fic lmao), I'd have to change a lot of things around because the setting and politics of it all are so beautifully and importantly about Damen and Laurent lol, and they are not actually 1-1 Jason and Tim.

BUT... Obviously. Tim would be in Laurent's role and Jason would be in Damen's. And obviously Tim's older brother, Dick, would be absent for sad plot reasons. And obviously Jason was betrayed by his mother, Sheila, who sold him to one direction the enemy country of which Tim is the prince. Unclear still what the exact feeling about Jason would be, and if he has anything to do with Dick not being around (or if Dick is even dead at all...!) but what makes captive prince so tasty is that Laurent HATED Damen, and Damen had to hide who he was so he just had to TAKE IT. Which of course means that for whatever reason, Tim hates Jason on sight. And for whatever reason, Jason has to take whatever abuse is thrown his way.

Oh. Oooooh could be... Okay throw a bunch of stuff out. Could be that Tim is in the court of Ra's al Ghul OwO. Maybe Tim is a foreign prince who's lived there in asylum for some time, and Jason was made a present to Tim because Jason's country was responsible for driving Tim into asylum in the first place OwO.

Still up in the air whether Jason's identity is out in the open or if he's been made a scapegoat just like Damen was. Then you could have a bunch of bouncing off Ra's and Talia and Damian and the friends Tim made in Red Robin among the assassins... And there's the omnipresent danger of Tim being beholden to Ra's court OwO. He's not so much protected as he is a hostage OwO. Just like Damen, Jason was meant to be a taunt for Tim, something to force him into acting out and giving Ra's further leverage.

Basically, this captive prince au would be a surprise Brucequest au, this time with 100% more Jason in skimpy slave boy outfits, having belligerent sexual tension with a skittish, political double-speaking Tim (so. Tim.) (The king is missing. Tim's brother Dick is preparing to be crowned. He doesn't believe Tim's letters that Bruce is alive and that he's going to find him.)

And I'm stopping there. You CANT DO THIS TO ME, werewolf fic is already crying itself to sleep every night while I dally with gladiator fic, okay, I refuse to write this au--

Cursed idea I had in the shower.

Bruce gets hit with a sleeping beauty type of curse.

You know. Be asleep in a deathlike state and only be awoken by a true love kiss.

(Let's assume Zatanna can't do shit for that type of old magic used and that was the only cure)

But the question is who is Batman's true love?

Catwoman is first candidate. He was going to marry her once. It didn't work.

Then, Damian asked his mom. Talia Al Ghul. The woman Bruce did marry and even had a kid with. Nope.

So kids are starting to panic.

They have to find that one special someone Bruce loves but he's Batman.

He doesn't talk about his feelings ever and making him do it is like pulling out teeth.

So they starts calling people they thought Bruce had good chemistry with.

Wonder Woman raised an eyebrow at the batkids' request but does it anyway. Didn't work.

Zatanna also reacted the same way.

Leslie Thompkins does it after some badgering.

Both Harley and Ivy does it to humor them.

Then, someone (Tim) finds Bruce's diary from where he was a teenager.

In it, Bruce talks about his crush on this boy, comparing him to the sun. Took a while for Tim to come to the horrifying realization that Bruce was talking about Harvey Dent aka Two Face.

They somehow managed to get Harvey to kiss Bruce. It still didn't work. But the kids are kinda traumatized by how close they were to having Two Face as a stepdad.

Then, they realised that they were only focusing on Bruce's female romantic interests so they decided to get everyone Bruce ever had chemistry with.

Clark had to awkwardly do it in front of his wife when he just came over to the Batcave check in on his best friend.

Lois gave Bruce a quick peck on the lips, just to make things somewhat even. (There was an inaudible sigh of relief when Bruce didn't wake up)

"That is the closest to a threesome with Bruce Wayne I will ever get." Lois joked, making Clark choke.

Oliver Queen went to wash his mouth right after giving the kiss. Dinah made a show of it to make Oliver jealous. The two of them took off immediately afterwards.

Hal Jordan was ready to run as soon as he did the deed.

Barry politely declined and the kids didn't push him. Because it is obvious that he and Bruce just hold respect towards each other. Same with Martian Manhunter and Aquaman.

John Constantine laughed in their faces when he heard their request. Once he realised they weren't joking, he still did it anyways and afterwards dropped an innuendo that implied that he had kissed Batman before and maybe something even more. Stole another kiss and promptly got out of Gotham before Damian had time to grab his sword.

They got the Riddler who was confused (or riddled, excuse my terrible pun) the entire time because minding his own business, got kidnapped by the Bat brats in daylight, found himself in the infamous Batcave and told to kiss Batman. He quickly did what he was told and then asked to be taken back right away so he can forgot what just happened.

The Bats voted on whether they should get Joker before they all unanimously agreed to never bring that idea again.

So the Batkids tried everything to find Batman's / Bruce's true love.

But guess what woke him up in the end? The answer was them all along. (Not Batcest. Batcest shippers DNI.)

You know that scene in Maleficent where she kisses Aurora on the forehead and she wakes up. Exactly like that.

The kids having done everything they could. Have to come to the conclusion that Bruce was as good as dead. One of the boys, maybe Dick or Jason, says goodbye and one of the others give Bruce a kiss on the forehead.

Cass started it and Dick does it too. Damian in a moment of weakness, does the same. One by one, the kids kissed Bruce of the forehead as a sign of goodbye. (You know Steph and Jason does it out of sibling peer pressure.) They all gathered to say, "Bruce, we love you."

Then, the motherfucker had the nerve to finally open his eyes in that moment to see his kids crying around him.

Bruce loves his kids. ❤️

Hi there! Thanks for the question and take an interest in her!!^ ^♥️ (I tried to keep it simple but I keep adding details about her, so it has become a lengthy description, but you can scroll to the bottom I have the simplistic version of it)

I would say Nika is a quick wit, bold, resilient, stylish, rebellious, and very much an independent person. Sometimes a bit of a showgirl in her own playful theatrical way.

→Painting her face with skull makeup. Her trademark move by tearing people's hearts out. Presenting herself in distinctive outfits. Kneeling as a sign of respect when she first meets with people whom she holds long admiration for - Batman, her (past) mentor Lord Death Man. When she goes undercover with Damian in Gotham High, she shows up dressing to her own taste in clothes, even though he tells her to be inconspicuous.

"Sorry, I don't do inconspicuous."

She tends to make silly nicknames for people, like throwing it in between conversations as a not-serious jab/comment: Damian- little birdie, Bruce- Daddy bat-brucks (reference Annie), Ra's Al Ghul- old fart😭(cus he is in ghost/spirit form, and properly bugging her for a while…)

The interests she has are drawing and opera. She also mentioned she's a K-pop stan, so I imagine she is interested in different ranges of music.

"—wander around an old folk's home and like… pick up painting or opera, y'know?"

Nika is an easygoing, open-minded and curious person (reads Damian's manga and talks to him about it). She's not very good at picking up social cues (saying death-related jokes at bad timing or it didn't land well) despite that, she still pays attention to what people are saying and observes people well (discuss the fighting skills of tournament fighters with Damian, and showing concern about Damian's injured arm).

"It's good. I like that it's a romance about an art school. But also about being competitive…"

And oftentimes she lives in her own head (obsesses with death and honing her newfound powers). It improves after she meets Damian and considers other possibilities in life other than death and killing.

"Life can be more than just being really good at killing people. You've proven that a few times."

Batman and Robin(2023)#7 -Artist: Simone Di Meo-

She likes to handle things at her own pace/plans and has the confidence in herself to do it correctly. So she has the bad habit of saying white lies or doesn't tell people the whole picture/exactly what she is trying to do.

Sometimes doing things head-on fearlessly because she has ambition and pride in herself (calls dibs on Damian's first match, keeps fighting in the death tournament attempt to gain victory, takes over Lord Death Man's empire, takes inspiration from Talia and makes a new outfit for herself).

When first met, people might find Nika quite rude/careless. Once you get to know her, she's just very straightforward and honest when expressing her feelings. She can be pretty brash, had short-tempered to people who are disrespectful/annoying to her.

"If you really are this badass that you think you are, you'll respect me."

Nika is a person of a free spirit with a strong will and motivation. She would follow reasonable orders/rules from ppl whom she respects, but she would get irritated when people tried to hold tight control over her and tell her what she should or shouldn't do, it might signal her that they don't trust/have faith in her (like her family). And if she feels like being overlooked/underwhelming, she tries to rebel and manage things on her own terms (run away from home to learn more about her powers, overthrow Lord Death Man, handle Mila's situation, go to Gotham to see Damian after his lack of contact/attention to her even though he calls her his girlfriend first).

Simplistic version (summary)↓

Prominent personality trait— Quick wit and easygoing, with a strong will and motivation. A confident, resilient, fashionable, and challenging person.

Hobby(so far)— Drawing, k-pop, opera.

Social ability— Tends to be playful, joking around with people, and likes to nickname them as a not-serious jab/comment. Mostly minding her own business, and not relying on other people much. Kind of a lone wolf who values her own time and effort.

Goals(so far)— Relying on her obsession with death to make sense of life. After the tournament and managing Lord Death Man's criminal empire she wants to slow down a bit to enjoy/explore her life.

With Damian— Playful, free talking and showing more emotions with him. Honest to him with times (resolved misunderstanding with him quickly). Likes his accompany a lot.

With (her older sister) Mila— a bit melancholy but not afraid to fight against her when she is being disrespectful/harmful.

And Ty for liking my art!!💝 I must say my portrayal of Nika still has some level of my preference/fanon in it (I love my art, but I'm not always satisfied with how I portray her within my ability). Question for Talia Al Ghul fans, do you headcanon her as autistic? I headcanon Damian to be and there's a good argument that Bruce might be, and autism is hereditary (at least in part). So Damian's autism could come from Bruce or both of them or just Talia.

(also I'm a Talia fan but she's not blorbo to me so I wanted to get answers from people who know more about her)

The computer light continued to flick on in the dark room. Talia stared, her work currently unraveling in a set of zeroes and ones. This shouldn't be a big deal.

But this mysterious coding was quite literally unraveling a plot that had been put into place for weeks now. To an untrained ear, to an ordinary person, no one would have noticed the sudden body slipping into the room.

But, Talia Al Ghul was not even remotely ordinary. Her voice speaks in a demanding tone,
