Nov 9:

The family is in Egypt but are still struggling to survive. Etaf wants to enroll her children in school again before the current semester ends. However, public schools are only available to Egyptian residents (which Palestinians aren't) and only expensive private schools are available. To continue her children's education, she needs €10,000 in her campaign (includes extra fees) as soon as possible before Dec 31.

Family info (detailed):

The family of 7 lost everything - their home, livelihood, and belongings.

Eldest sons Moataz and Moatasem and daughter Maria (7) were top students but their education was interrupted by the war.

They have 2 other young children: Adam (4) and Amira (3).

They were evacuated to Egypt in March, where they are still struggling because nobody is helping them. Governmental aid is very slow.

In late October, Etaf's husband Youssef went to Amman to help provide for his family. He is returning in early November due to expensive living costs there.

I don't recognise your fics but I might just have a terrible memory, did you ever submit them to the blog? I'd be happy to get them into our tags if not. (EDIT: I do actually recognise some of your earlier works, but I'm going to just add any that aren't on the blog if that's alright, 'cause I'm not sure if they all are).

Jalex is very much still in demand and probably always will be. There's definitely still readers, unfortunately many of them are probably silent and/or unaware of this blog but there's still people around. I really feel like the more people that post fic though, the more it will encourage others to post it, so I'm gonna go ahead and say hell yeah, please do it and submit the link to us! We're seeing a small resurgence in fics lately (or fics coming through us, anyway) whether it be Jalex or some OC stuff, and I personally have a Callakarth smut ready to go and a Christmas one in the works. The fic community for this band is smaller now but I think that's still nice. As much as it would be cool if it was as busy as it was even, say, seven years ago, it's sweet and cosy like this right now.

There hasn't been any trans!fic for the fandom (that I know of) in a wee while so I think that would be really cool if you posted that one too. Nerves are understandable but you would still have our full support and we're always happy to help with writing tips or encouragement where possible.

PS. I swear if Tumblr implodes ever, I will riot. This is the only social media site I still consider 95% bearable and also the thousands of hours of work I have put into this blog??? I'll fully latch onto the CEO's ankles like a parasite until it's all reinstated.

PPS. Followers reading this, I do gotta beg of you to comment on works if you read them. I know some people find commenting really daunting or don't know what to say, but most authors have an anon commenting option turned on, and I can promise a primary way that we as a community might get more lovely fics to read is by being encouraging to the authors that are still posting. Even one word comments can make an author's day! <3

Your first initial impressions of any Twst character vs your current feelings about them?

honestly, my perception of pretty much every character went through some metamorphosis of "this guy looks like a jerk" to "oh, he's a stupid jerk? now hold on." it's all about that balancing act between a dark brooding asshole and a dark brooding asshole who is also totally ridiculous, and it really does make ALL the difference.

perhaps most ironically, I've mentioned before that I was absolutely not into the Diasomnias at first, because the impression the website gave pre-release was somehow even less favorable than for everyone else and I was mad at Lilia for getting my hopes up for a token girl). and then we got their stories and, well, I kind of just haven't stopped thinking about them since. 🤷

also, I went in thinking that Crowley was going to be. y'know. competent at his job. a helpful guide. a mysterious yet caring mentor figure, a fitting leader for this band of delicate young magic waifs with their fancy little magic outfits and their perfect, perfect hair. I've never been so glad to be wrong.

I think that it should be a mechanic in the game that certain twisteds will have different mechanics if you have a certain toon in the party

Maybe Sprout would become incredibly protective of the first Cosmo player he sees, keeping them close and attacking anyone that comes near but no longer roaming and not actively seeking others out

I might come up with a concept for the reverse (twisted cosmo/player sprout) later BUT this was the first thought i had about it

okay i'm clearly on a journey through fandom memory lane but it really is wild to me that a random norwegian teen drama cracked the code on how to perfectly market and promote a show in the age of social media and NO ONE ELSE (besides the countries trying to create their own version of the same show ig) has emulated it?????????? like?????????? legitimate social media profiles for your characters????????? with posts and instagram stories from them that fit within the plot as well as offering a fun little extra insight into the characters/friendships/relationships?????? groundbreaking. i had instagram notifications turned on for FICITONAL CHARACTERS. one of your characters wants to be a director??? here's his real youtube channel with a video he made for his boyfriend's birthday full of never before seen clips that don't exist on the show?!?!?!?!?! unbelievable. you want your show to be immersive??? you want the audience to feel like they're living within the pov of your main character?? drop a clip/sneak peek in real time as it's supposed to happen in the episode so your audience is thinking about it 24/7. genius!!!!!! like can you imagine if circa 2018 everything didn't move to full season dumps and instead shows that aired on a weekly basis and incorporated even one of these things became the norm??????? we were robbed of what could've been
