the name is inspired by the word 'reverie' (meaning daydream), and 'romantic' of course relating to relationships.

i coined this for myself because i have alters who formed specifically as a result of my habit of daydreaming about my OTPs to fall asleep (or as a form of maladaptive escapism in my childhood)

Eisogenic/Eisotraumagenic - a term for collectives/systems/plurals or members who feel they formed from the trauma of experiencing symptoms of mental illness or other disabilities such as intrusive thoughts, hallucinations, pain, or seizures.

This term is specifically about the trauma of experiencing the symptoms themselves.

From the ancient greek word εἴσω • (eísō) - inside/within

Eisogenic collectives can present and form in many ways and there isn't one set experience or roles to take, however some collectives may:

Have members whose identities or pasts are connected to symptoms like intrusive thoughts, delusions, or hallucinations in a way that recontextulalizes them. Such as a collective with intrusive thoughts about violence splitting a member that is a soldier or warrier

Have members whose dissociative barriers affect the amount of pain they experience as a way to cope with things such as chronic pain, migraines, or sensory overload

Have dissociative barriers that change how different members experience the same disorders

Roles or the ability to front may be tied to symptoms or recovery from them

Eisogenic and eisotraumagenic mean the same thing however both are equally as valid as some may wish to emphasize the fact that trauma is involved

The paired term is eisotrauma, meaning trauma that happened due to experiencing symptoms of mental illness or other disability.

There's some extra notes on why we wanted to coin these terms under the cut. Also huge shout out to @moonpool-system whose coining of the term nourigenic inspired us and also for giving us tips on how to get started.

We created these terms because as a collective whose been disabled our entire lives and experienced severe mental illness from a young age we wanted a way to refer to the trauma of experiencing psychosis and intrusive thoughts as well as chronic pain.

Our first experience with trauma focussed therapy was about dealing with the trauma that came from experiencing OCD and psychosis, and both of those as well as having experienced chronic pain our entire lives has greatly effected us and our formation

Because these experiences are intrinsic to existing in our body and brain there are many ways healing from and living with it is different from the trauma we experienced from outside our body.

And we've never really had a term to discuss it so we have to awkwardly talk around the gap in language making starting conversations about it much harder. We're hoping that having these terms makes it easier to have conversations about these experiences

anger or frustration is the main cause of triggered behavior in these alters, regardless of the emotion came from within or in the environment.

We weren't satisfied with how "all or nothing" fragment is as a term since it's more of a scale for us so, here ya'll go, terms utilizing the gemstone scale from Genshin. Free to use just credit us if posted somewhere else. Sliver: An unsentient bit of forming matter. Not 'aware' but technically 'alive.'. Can grow into a fragment with time and resources Fragment: A scrap of forming material a bit more alive than a sliver. Can start to express selfhood, thoughts, and feelings. Still very incomplete and hollow though. Chunk: A technically fully formed member. Exists on their own and has full memories of their life and identity, but a weak overall prescence in the system. Gemstone: A full form filled with matter and memory. These members often draw in all other forms of member existence to fill out even further, resulting in subsystems and facets that would not otherwise exist.

swankid - an alter role relating to syskids/young alters who have mature trauma, usually relating to sexual trauma and the like.

a more kid-friendly alternative for littlex in the case that an alter/system isnt comfortable with the term 'little' for system children.

the swan represents a gentle reminder to the alters experiences while also not revealing too much information, alluding to life-altering bonds formed in youth. swans are generally seen as elegant and youthful, symbolizing innocence and childhood.

this is not meant to romantizice or glamourize the alters trauma, but to make it feel as if it's not something gross or wrong with them.

He only escaped by burning the mansion down, killing all the men inside. He later joined Cang Qiong Mountain Sect but grew envious of Luo Binghe, who is overflowing with talent, since he, Shen Jiu, was unable to cultivate until later in life. Phoenitrauma refers to any trauma someone has experienced/is affected by that originates from a past life, reincarnation, etc. The term is meant to validate the traumatic experience and the post-traumatic effects one might experience from their past lives, but still distinguish itself from trauma experienced within both this world and life. The word is derivative of "phoenixal" and meant to describe a certain type of exotrauma specific to people whose exomemories are from past lives/reincarnation/etc. The symbol is a combination of the phoenixal symbol and the aqua PTSD ribbon, over the phoenixal flag.

This term is meant for all people/beings/etc that experience any sort of reincarnation or past lives, including otherkin/therians, introjected system members, and more. This term does not discriminate between spiritual-based and string-theory-based reincarnation/dimensional concepts.

🌀 Phoenitraumagenic 🌀

A system or system member that is phoenitraumagenic originates from phoenitrauma, a specific type of exotrauma stemming from past lives and other reincarnations. This means that the system/member(s) themselves stemmed from pre-existing phoenitrauma, rather than it simply coming with their exomemories.

Example 1: Member A has a traumatic past life, and Member B forms to cope with a specific aspect of that trauma. Member B is phoenitraumagenic.

Example 2: The system has no existing past life connection to Character C, but when Fictive C showed up, they found themself to be deeply affected by the exotrauma they experienced. Fictive C has phoenitrauma, but is not phoenitraumagenic.

Example 3: Member E has phoenitrauma from a bad experience in a previous reincarnation. Eventually, Member E splits a subsystem specifically centered around the phoenitrauma experienced. Member E's subsystem is phoenitraumagenic.

Example 4: Member G unlocks memories of a past life, and due to the trauma related to that past life, their identity is drastically altered to present completely as that past life. Member G is phoenitraumagenic.

Malvinda-genic (pronounced Mal-vinda-genic)

A mixed origin term for plurals who are mainly traumagenic but also feel somewhat endogenic out of spite.

Anyone who feels they identify with this can use this, including radqueers and proships. (I don't support them by any means though)

And the name is a mash-up of the words malicious and vindictive. 'Mal' is from Malicious and 'vinda' is from vindictive.
