How do you think Deacon would feel toward Sole when he realizes that they get to keep their kid (or at least a version) and he doesn’t?
This is a complicated one!
First of all, a version of their kid. That's important to remember. Assuming Sole brought synth!Shaun home (and I'll refer to him as Shaun and the leader of the Institute as Father), he's still a synth and Sole knows it. Sole's opinion of this will make a difference - do they view Shaun as just a replacement? Are they grieving having to kill Father?
I think if Sole was able to entirely accept Shaun as their own without any issues Deacon might be a bit jealous. They got their happy ending and he didn't, although he probably believes he deserves everything he got. He knows that Sole deserves to be happy after all this but damn, it still stings a bit.
This feeling is a dampened if Sole is clearly grieving, since most people would agree that having to kill your own evil old man child is not exactly a good outcome... in this case, Deacon wouldn't even blame Sole for struggling to accept Shaun as their real son. It's a lot to go through and it'll take time to heal.
Either way I can imagine Deacon disappearing for a while. Either doing a lot of Railroad work at strange hours or just running off by himself for a bit. It brings up a lot of memories of his past and he wouldn't want to risk letting his mask slip even just a bit. I doubt he'd open up even if he already told Sole about his past - he wouldn't want to get in the way of their happiness. After a while I do think things would return to normal. That jealousy would fade and he'd just be happy for Sole and how far they've come.

theres nothing i can really say about the miku expo screen situation that hasnt been said a bajillion times over by others (especially since i didnt realize they were going worldwide with this tour until shit went down orz) but it does make me think about the old niconico vocaloid concerts, which if i remember correctly do use screens, but they like. have fun with it: they use multiple screens (the comments scrolling on the side screens LOL), do all kinds of mashups and remixes and arranges and play with inside jokes and live actors and performers like the fucking cult or whatever at the beginning of the 2016 concert or like the MIME? 2015? THE MIME? im still hoping some day on this earth i can experience something as cool as that echo x hibikase performance....
youtube
miku and gumi fucking ironman-posing into the bottom screen kills me every time its SO good. let the girlies jump through screens!!!

Lyrics:
Whoa!
Woke up this morning
Closed in on all sides
Nothing doing
I feel resistance
As I open my eyes
Someone's fooling
I've found a way to break
Through this cellophane line
'Cause I know what's going on
In my own mind
Am I living in a box?
Am I living in a cardboard box?
Am I living in a box?
Am I living in a cardboard box?
Am I living in a box?
Life goes in circles
Around and around, circulating
I sometimes wonder
What's moving underground
I'm escaping
I've found a way to break
Through this cellophane line
'Cause I know what's going on
In my own mind
Am I living in a box? (Living)
Am I living in a cardboard box?
Am I living in a box? (Living)
Am I living in a cardboard box?
Am I living in a box? Oh
I've found a way to break
Through this cellophane line
'Cause I know what's going on
In my own mind
Am I living in a box? (Living)
Am I living in a cardboard box?
Am I living in a box? (Living)
Am I living in a cardboard box?
Am I living in a box? (Living)
Am I living in a cardboard box?
Am I living in a box? (Living)
Am I living in a cardboard box?
Am I living in a box? (Living)
Am I living in a cardboard box
Am I living in a box? (Living)
Am I living in a cardboard box
Songwriter:
Am I living, am I living, am I living?
Am I living, am I living, am I living?
(In a box)
Am I living, am I living?
Am I living in a cardboard box?
Am I living in a box?
Am I living, am I living?
Am I living in a cardboard box?
Am I living in a box?

I personally miss the more robotic voices they had back then - the roboticness and the not-so-human nature of the voices were part of the charm and that's one of the reasons why so many people love Teto as an UTAU.
Yes, what happens is that we have fans like SynthV who brag and overvalue the software bank as if it were the only one that should exist…
And it's sad to see that even Vocaloid fans of yesteryear consider it "Dead" or “Vocaloid6 is horrible” I don't tend to judge much on this part, but I do find it disrespectful that they call Vocaloid an antiquity that doesn't advance just because for them, realism is what's fashionable.

Vocaloid x Poppy Playtime AU
Since Playtime Co. began conducting unethical experiments due to falling sales, there was no way around it, right?
Well, what if the sales had begun falling just a little later? Or if they had just waited a bit longer?
With the rise in popularity of Vocaloid due to the success of Hatsune Miku, what if Playtime Co. tried to join in on the popularity by releasing their own voicebanks? A.K.A., voicebanks of their most popular characters?
When they hired voice providers and released the voicebanks, they ended up being very successful and made a lot of money due to their popularity, and so many people buying them to use in their songs.
But with the fall in popularity of Vocaloid, the amount of character voicebanks being sold declined, too, leading to the company resorting to desperate measures in order to continue making money off their success.
They released a few append and Japanese voicebanks here and there in an attempt to boost sales, which worked for some time, but their characters were no longer as popular as some of the bigger Vocaloids: Otomachi Una, GUMI, flower, etc.
So what did they do? They began testing and experimenting, of course.
Inspired by the live hologram performances at Miku Expos and Nico Nico Cho Parties, they managed to manifest the voicebanks of their most popular characters into sentient holograms. However, knowing that they couldn't get them on stage, Playtime Co. used them for other reasons.
The holograms of their characters were forced to partake in the experimentation of children and monitor the factory 24/7/365 in order to continue overworking their employees, keep an eye out for test subjects, and use their voices to torture the minds of the subjects via special features. If they disobeyed, they would suffer a painful deletion process that would lead to them suffering a fate worse than death. It was also around this time that they kidnapped the people who provided the voices for their characters and turned them into holograms as well via brain uploading.
When the Hour of Joy struck, they assisted in the slaughter by cutting off any connection to the outside world (phones and other devices to call for help), locked doors, and used surveillance cameras to check for any survivors.
After this event, all of Playtime Co's voicebanks were immediately retired, and the last remaining serial codes were sold just a year later, making it impossible to obtain any of the voicebanks.
In the present day, the player returns to the factory and finds that simply walking around and navigating would be much harder than they thought. Having gone insane in the past few years, the remaining sentient holograms will attempt to draw attention to you or blow your eardrums out by screaming or locking doors and access to other things that can help the player, making them a major problem in addition to the physical toys already trying to murder you.
So? What do you think? Should I expand on this idea?

A while ago, to play with acoustic reverberation and spring noise, I built what I'm calling my Boing Box. It's just some springs of different types and tensions mounted on a balsa wood cigar box, together with a cheap piezo contact microphone. Plug it into an amplifier, or, better, through an assortment of guitar effects and then into an amplifier, and you can tap or rub or slap or twang various parts of the thing to get cascades of sound. I've seen some folks use a violin bow on similar devices, so I need to try that, but in the meantime I found something that also adds to the experience: I mounted a music box on it.

This is one of those little "Create your own music box" deals that you see in gift shops; a thrift shop had one for cheap, so I picked it up. It needs to be mounted on, or at the least pressed against, a resonant body to really sound like more than faint tinks, so I decided the Boing Box would be a great base.

(I also put on a label, cut out with my vinyl cutter.)

Let's Play - Pool Of Radiance: Part 0 (1988)
youtube
We are firmly in 1986 on the chronology of this list, so you might ask why am I suddenly jumping 2 years to 1988 in order to cover Pool of Radiance? Well, I'm not, but these games take time to play and I wanted to try my hand at making some YouTube videos, and so that I have played the game thoroughly by the time we get to the review in 1988, so it's better to start now!
So here we are with a trailer for session 0 of Pool of Radiance, where I create the characters for the party, take a tour of Phlan and give you some lore on the Moonsea and  Ancient Phlan! I'll be posting a new one of these every Sunday night (Monday morning if you are in Europe). These videos are also done in collaboration with some Dungeon Synth artists, so it's also a way to find new Dungeon Synth music!
Follow the YouTube channel here!
