I think she’s not even a physical, tangible embodiment of anything; I think that, every single time Batman fights someone, they get ill with this horrible, sick feeling of fright freezing in their veins.

And God, do I need the Batkids to be there for it.

Damian, who’s protected by Jason’s and Dick’s bigger, older bodies, — but they’re shaking and he can feel it, — watches shadows angrily crawl in the shape of her.

She’s so much different than the paintings.

Her hair is dark and long and her eyes are angry, white panels. Those are Baba’s eyes. “No loyalty, no loyalty,—“

He’s never seen Stephanie flinch before, but he does now, and it’s terrible, when she grips her stomach and falls with a whimper on her knees, —

“NONE!”

Cass tastes something salty drip down her lip. She’s crying, she realizes. But she can’t look away. Waynes are magnetic that way.

“NOT EVEN FROM YOU!”

Alfred doesn’t look afraid; He looks at his grandmother like men look at danger. Like they’d do anything to hold it.

“WHERE,” Not even when the shadows get closer , snapping and snarling and looking like they’d devour him whole.

“IS HE?!”

Flash dealing with a feral child (Adult)

Flash, known as one of the fastest men alive, was stopping to check out a known hangout spot for rouges in Central City when he got a notification from the JL about dead bodies of drug dealers, kidnappers, etc, showing up in abandoned warehouses in Gotham and other cities around the world.

He may not be the brightest, but he was still the first one to notice that most of his rouges, at least not the money hungry ones, seemed to only come out in the daylight to do only minimal damage and stealing. Which was strange in of itself.

He was also one of the first ones to notice, besides Batman and Green Arrow, that most of the rouges whisper about a Dream demon or some kind of demon that eats villians’ heads and leave their bodies for the police to pick up.

Tonight, one of many nights, he was eavesdropping on some rouges when he noticed that was rocking back and forth, muttering that he somehow fucked up on a heist and a kid accidentally got hurt.

Some of them were trying to comfort the terrified rouge, but others were too busy looking around with guns and other weapons in hand.

Flash, who was known by his rouges as caring and willing to help those that wanted/needed the help, tried to slowly walk in, but due to his powers it ended up just scaring his rouges instead.

“FUCK FLASH!” “Don’t do that!” “You got to help!” “Please don’t let me die!” All of them cry, each in different levels of fright, with one rushing over to him and grabbing onto his suit, begging for his life. “I did’t mean to! She was just there!”

Cue a very confused Flash, who can only sit down and have his rouges explain what the actual hell was happening. Which included learning about the spread of drugs and trafficking of women and children around the world, but mostly focusing in the U.S in major cities, and the meeting of a black slime thing eating a corrupt cop (who was supposedly abusing his family)

The hours pass without an incident, and as the daylight start to dawn, Flash goes out of his way to rush all the rouges into a safe place. Including the one that accidentally hurt a little girl, which in reality she only got scared by his enterance and wasn’t actually hurt.

Flash then goes back to the warehouse and notices that a man was standing in front of a young teenager, or a child (all he knew that the young thing was small and looked very young), and pointing a gun to their forehead and had a black slimy thing in his other hand.

Flash panics for a brief moment before rushing in, not noticing that the slimy thing was opening its mouth to bite the man at the same time.

Time slows down as he grabs the gun and man’s hand to point it away from the kid, but he then notices that the slimy thing has opened its mouth, full of pointing and knife-like teeth, and bit down on the man’s hand (right next to Flash’s fingers).

The man screams in pain as blood squirts out of the deep bite mark and the gun goes off in another direction. Which causes both the man and Flash to let go, the gun to drop, the slimy thing drops and goes back into the child, and the child bites the man’s left leg.

Cue Flash and the man panicking and jumping away from the child thing, which causes it to melt into a huge black, and purple, monster with dark purple tentacles, and pure white ‘eyes’, with a ‘mouth’ full of sharp teeth (like Canies or knives).

The man gets hit in the head with one of the tentacles and gets knocked unconscious. Flash gets one smacked into his stomach and he smashes into one of the walls.

The creature makes a weird distress child noise as Flash tries to recover, holding onto his stomach area and taking a few deep breaths.

”I’m good, I’m good. Just wasn’t expecting for the power behind your punches, or well slaps.” He jokes as he flops to the ground and rubs his back with one hand, glad that he his super speed allows him to heal quicker.

”Forgive us, we were trying to get a quick meal, but his face reminded us of someone else. It will not happen again.” The thing ‘says’ as it stands up and seems to stretches itself out, like it wasn’t seconds away from dying.

Flash can only wave the thing off, trying to determine if this thing was the “Dream demon” that his rouges were terrified of, which he doesn’t blame them now, and if the man was supposed to be it’s next meal.

”Well, all’s well that ends well. Just please don’t put yourself in these type of situations again, please?” He asks, begs, because he still is very confused on if the thing is a child in a monster’s body or an adult, or what.

”We can not keep that, as we need to eat. However, we will make sure to devour our meal and not play with it.” The thing ‘promises’?, and Flash tries to laugh it off, but the thing doesn’t laugh with him…

”Right, well. I’ll be taking this man to prison and then come back to get you.”

”No, we will go get a new meal. Thank you for teaching us that we should not play with our food.” The thing thanks him, which he doesn’t know to accept or not, before it CLIMBS out of the building, scaling the walls up to the skylight with it claws and tentacles and disappears into the night.

”Hey Flash to JL, we have a feral child on the loose, and it likes to eat humans. Please be advised that I accidentally gave it advice and now I’m not too sure where it went. Please don’t kill me, I thought it was just a kid.”

Cue the Flash experiencing the strangest police interview ever, and JL interview as well. Including being pulled to the side by Batman and getting the rundown on what he knows.

Drabble writing challenge, prompt word "Smile" In which the new Batman and Robin have a run-in with an old...well, not friend, exactly, but she's not trying to eat them, so Dick will take it.

“Ooh, I like this one. He’s feisty.” The voice crackled like an electrical shock; the darkness shifted, oozing out to crouch impossibly on the sheer wall of the building. Huge white eyes stared at them, the orange light of the streetlamps flaring across oily-looking skin so purple it was nearly black.

“I’ll show you ‘feisty’,” Damian snapped, brandishing his sword. The dozens of needle teeth in Spoiler’s permanent grin glittered as she laughed, then dropped fluidly off the wall and took a couple of slow steps towards them, hair-like tendrils shifting and twisting.

“Gonna scratch me, little birdie?” she asked mockingly. Dick set a hand on Damian’s shoulder to stop him from rising to the bait.

My Family is... a Little Weird

"Let me recap... you come from a distant artificial world, Klyntar, that is in fact a cage designed at the origin to imprison the creator of your race and prevent the symbiotes from expending in the Galaxy; you and a small group of... individuals, escaped in a spaceship when your specie engaged in a civil war on Klyntar that split your community, and now that your unit of deserters who turned their back on their home planet landed on Earth, you need me to trace the allies who travelled with you?!"

"Pretty much, yes," the creature appreciated, Eddie could even say the large glowing white triangles that feature the alien's eyes reflect something akin to... fondness.

This aside, the picture remains highly disturbing. Batman saved his life the instant they bonded, by abandoning the too weak human envelope it carried until then. By chance, the extraterrestrial in its declining meatsuit walked outside this hour, it has been attracted by fighting noises six streets from its position. It approached, then, upon grasping the context, merged with the man who could use the intervention of a hero and... beat to a pulp the gang of drug dealers that assaulted him in a side alley, while the private detective worked on a lead to hopefully solve his latest kidnapping affair.

Two days passed since then, Edward Nygma recuperated from the shock. That doesn't mean he is quite used yet to having this... thing attached to him, even though Batman is surprisingly nice, for a vengeful monster from another planet. Eddie simply needs to adjust to the view of this jet black head prolonged by pointy... sort of 'ears' which seem immovable, a strong jaw that discovers a thick pink tongue and a myriad of sharp teeth.

"They are not exactly my 'allies',” it corrected nonetheless. "They are my... family. Only one shares my venom, I believe in Earthian language you say 'biological ties', but all five are my children. I miss them, and I need to find them before they get hurt or cause too much troubles. This Blue Planet's atmosphere is unsafe for us to move if we stay outside of an host for too long; however finding a fitting candidate can be... difficult. We kill the vessel if we are not compatible, it deteriorates until its body becomes inoperable for neither us nor them," it anticipated Ed's next question.

"Neat..." the investigator sighed, already feeling like he goes ahead of the most tricky, complicated and quirky case he ever agreed to take.

Batman undulated in an... inviting manner, half-way through a giant bat and a smooth snake.

"I knew you'd understand, Eddie Nygma," the creature purred, like a big happy cat, and that was... damn, that was weird. "After all... you know what it's like to be a father who cares for his child."

Edward smiled a bit. He can't argue against that.

Over the previous days, Ed made it very clear his unexpected roommate cannot show up when Stephanie is home. His daughter of heart may be the most comprehensive person he knows, he doesn't see how to casually break to her he became the host of an alien symbiote dad who wants to find his five alien symbiote kids disseminated across the State, maybe even across the country after they parachuted in extremis from their spaceship about to crash.

Quite the situation.

Though no doubt when Steph, who is currently at school and Ed slouched on the comfy couch of their apartment, finds out (it's evident she will find out...), she'll be super excited and eager to participate to this unprecedented adventure. Eddie taught her well.

For the time being...

"Alright, Bats. Tell me more about your family, your specie... everything. I need to collect as many clues as I can to build a reasoning and start my investigation. I am the greatest detective on Earth, I promise I'll help you find your children."

Among said children, two need to be rescued: first to jump from the ship about to blow up, Phoenix and Black Bat landed together in the countryside, in a relatively desertic landscape. Disoriented, lost and in pain with no potential hosts around, they were in no condition to defend themselves. They got captured by human scientists working for a private company prior they could adapt to the new environment or bond with any living being.

One requires assistance: Nightwing was the last to step out of the crashing plane, it made sure its family exited the spaceship first. Another piece of the reactors exploded when it was about to jump, rubble collided with its frame, nearly knocked it out and made it lose its balance. Badly injured, Nightwing effectuated a rushed landing on... salty water. The ship itself sank farther into the Atlantic Ocean. On the upside, less than twenty-four hours later, the quasi-comatose alien ended up rescued by a young woman who took a week of holidays with her father on board of their recreational craft. In some peculiar adaptation of The Little Mermaid, Barbara Gordon spotted the oily black and blue substance while her dad and her fished in open sea, not that far from the Gothamite coastline. They approached, intervened... One thing leading to another, Nightwing bonded at first sight with an 100% compatible human. On top of not being scared, Babs also devoted to nurse the symbiote back to health.

One must be apprehended before it commits a carnage in Metropolis: Red Hood kills vessels every three hours or so, its metabolism is too powerful for most persons to handle. And when it doesn't melt people from the inside, the extraterrestrial rips off the heads of bystanders it devours in dark quarters at night, starving because of the increased energy it consumes when jumping from one incompatible host to another.

One is already looking for them: Demon found the right match at third try. Now helped by a retired military, Alfred Pennyworth, the youngest symbiote investigates to reunite the family.

in a different universe, Bruce Wayne grew up with arachnophobia instead of chiroptophobia. he found secret experiments in a lab beneath their family estate, and it didn’t take him long to pick up the family business.

neurotoxin experiments. spiders.

in a different universe, Bruce Wayne became Spider-Man.

in a different universe, Dick Grayson didn’t need to be bitten by a spider to pick up the Spider-Man mantle. he grew up knowing how to do all the acrobatics and combat anyways— all B had to do was give him web shooters and a suit. but there couldn’t be two Spider-Man’s. so he became Nightwing. but with a blue spider on his chest instead of a bird!

Nightwing’s webs come from his escrima sticks. they’re packing some serious voltage, so sometimes in a pinch he’ll use them instead of his police-issued taser. his favorite part about the whole spider thing is that he can fully just… throw himself off of buildings. and not die. he’s an adrenaline junkie, what can he say?

in a different universe, Jason Todd did everything the same. tried to steal the wheels off the vehicle of the most famous vigilante in Gotham. B picked him up and let him choose the spider and gave him the power to do good.

Robin “giving him magic” didn’t stop the Green Goblin from caving in his skull. although spiders you thought you’d killed do have a way of disappearing.

and returning. in a different universe, the Red Hood took the black widow as his mascot and nobody could do anything in Gotham City without him knowing about it. he single-handedly put down all the arms dealers in the city.

in a different universe, Tim Drake made his own spider. he’d been a fan of Thomas and Bruce Wayne’s work for his whole life, or at least since he learned how to read— and he figured he could get Spider-Man’s attention if he was able to replicate the project as young as he did.

oh, he got Spidey’s attention all right. befriending and adopting an alien symbiote will do that. player 4 has joined the game.

in a different universe, Venom is co-piloted by Tim, who really does like aliens. B thinks it’s a tiny bit weird, but while Tim is tiny his alien companion is very much not. it’s extra armor.

Tim works at the Daily Bugle. nobody knows how exactly he gets the quality kind of photos he does of Gotham’s Spider-family situation, but who’s complaining? he’s just really good at his job.

in a different universe, Cassandra Cain was bitten by a spider before she even met Bruce Wayne. her mother had trained her for combat for her whole life. she couldn’t prepare her for superpowers.

B was happy to help. in a different universe, rather than Cass becoming Blackbat, she took on the alias Black Widow. watch your back for her, though. she’s got the same deadly instinct in every universe.

in a different universe, Stephanie Brown became the first Spider-Woman. of course, she wasn’t the only one, but there’s something about being the original, isn’t there?

she knows she’s funny. she thinks it’s part of the job; it feels right. she’s the closest to the average canon Spider-Man. she could’ve been recruited to the Society at any point in time. and there’s something about that too.

in a different universe, Damian Wayne was born with superpowers. he’d inherited Bruce’s from birth. Talia was quick to hand him off once she realized her baby could crawl on walls and ceilings. the Spider Cave was getting a bit crowded, but what’s one more dangerous, unpredictable, biologically enhanced child? bring it on.

aside from Hood, Tarantula is the only Spider willing to kill a man on the field. yeah, as in. bird-eating tarantula. Robin. get it?

of course, in a different universe, he still had his katana. wouldn’t be Damian Wayne without it. his favorite thing is to swing down from a skyscraper with his webs and run through bad guys like kebabs. B says it’s immoral, but who can be mad about stabbing Doc Ock’s goons?

in another universe, Duke Thomas is the most famous member of the family. he’s the other closest to canon Spider-Man. he takes the day jobs, he talks to the press, he’s the least-hated at the Daily Bugle.

his webs glow. that makes night ops harder. so he sticks to the sunlight. people started calling him the Spider-Signal. which doesn’t make a lot of sense? but Duke is the kinda guy to just kinda shrug it off, because he’s not gonna take on the entire city’s press on his own.

Miguel O’Hara stayed the bleeding hell away from this universe. this group of bats spiders were too unpredictable to have in the Spider Society at all. there were no missions there, but constant surveillance. (until. you know. Miles Morales rocked up with a proposition to take down a tyrannical system with horrible judgement and a corrupted leader. and then Miguel couldn’t ignore the Wayne family anymore.)

Jason: Talia, how does Ra's handle his Pit Rage?

Talia: His what now?

Jason: You know, the lingering effects of the Lazarus Pit? Where you get so angry that you enter a fugue state, and your vision goes green, and you just want to murder everyone and everything until the screaming stops?

Talia, already booking another psychiatry appointment and therapy for her traumatized son: That sounds very stressful

(Jason mistaking his PTSD symptoms for Lazarus Pit symptoms is both extremely funny and extremely depressing)

A few ways this could go:

1. Early on Ra’s spoke one (1) time in Jason’s hearing about the “rage of the pit,” and, even though Ra’s wasn’t speaking in a literal sense, Jason’s mind latched onto that.

2. See above, but it occurred within Damian’s hearing at some point when he was still very young. So then Damian grows up just assuming that’s a thing and informs Jason thusly. Jason doesn’t question it because it’s not like he knows how the pits work so it seems like as reasonable an explanation as any.

3. Jason read too many fantasy books at age 14. This is just what he assumed about the pit, even without any other information.

4. It really is from the Lazarus pit, but Jason’s just special.

5. It really is the pits but it’s more of a Venom symbiote situation. Again because Jason’s special.

6. Insert Danny Phantom crossover AUs/core issues here.

7. Jason, after having been raised for a few years by Bruce Batman-in-place-of-therapy Wayne: Wow, I’m having a lot of issues. Also Jason: Must be magic.

I know I just made a request that is similar but Can I request a scenerio where the batfamily have the buddy with the symbiote living at Wayne manor basically becoming adopted by Bruce? They do their best to protect the innocent and somehow become well acquainted with some of the roughs like harley quinn, poison ivy, and even killer croc.

Bat Buddy with Symbiote with Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and Killer Croc

BATFAMILY

Buddy was adopted by Bruce before they bonded with Venom.

They had been training to be a hero with Batman before a certain field trip left them with a friend for life.

Well, it didn’t start that way with the side effect of the bond showing first.

It took the combined efforts of Dick, Barabra, Jason, Tim, Stephanie, Duke and Damian for Bruce to realize something was wrong with Buddy.

When Bruce got out a needle to take a blood sample, Venom mistook this as an act of violence and ‘defended’ his host.

After a lot of screaming and yelling later, Buddy is explaining how they got bonded with Venom.

The symbiote perched on their shoulder giving Bruce the stink eye.

It took time for the Batfamily to get used to the new normal with Buddy, yet they knew that they would still be a bit of an outlier amongst them.

Thankfully they found friends in unlikely places.

Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy

The three of them had a pretty good relationship before they had bonded with the symbiote.

Buddy liked hanging out with the pair after patrol if they promised not to create big disturbances.

The pair was probably one of the first to notice Buddy’s body changes when they were first bonded with Venom.

Harley cupping Buddy’s face: “Geez hun, you look sick.” Buddy gently pushing her hands off their face: “Its fine Harley.” Harley: “Maybe take some meds, get some sun and eat a bit more.” Harley looks at Buddy worriedly: “You’re growing a bit too thin Bud, your still growing!” Ivy handing Buddy a couple of fruits: “Eat these now. Then we talk about your diet, I can smell the tater tots and chocolate from your jacket.” Buddy stuffing their face with an orange: “Not my fault they taste so good…”

It was a little while later that Buddy decided to trust the antihero duo with Venom’s secret and new alias.

Yes, they were freaked out a bit.

Yes, Harley threatens Venom if he ever hurts their favorite Bat.

Ivy wanted to find out a safe way to get Venom and Buddy separated without killing the other.

A week later the four of them are having a movie night, face masks, popcorn bowls, face masks (yes, they somehow managed to get one on Venom), LOADS of chocolate, and fluffy blankets and matching PJ’s.

Buddy sandwich between Harley and Ivy while Venom’s head was happily getting fed chocolate by Harley

He denies any purring.

If Venom heard that the pair was in trouble, he would immediately take over and come to their rescue, not that Buddy would have much to say about it.

Killer Croc

Waylon was a special case.

Buddy had a ‘bad habit’ as their siblings would say, of visiting some of the asylum patients by themselves.

Venom would later agree with them once he found out about this habit.

They had made it their mission to make sure that the villains were getting proper treatment and the help they needed.

Croc was one of the harder patients to crack.

But they made sure to always visit him whenever they had the chance to go into the asylum.

Croc soon began to look forward to their little meetings.

Knew right off the bat that something was wrong with Buddy when they first came to him after bonded with Venom.

Killer croc looking at a pale and exhausted Buddy. Killer croc: “You okay kid? You look dead.” Buddy nervously laughing: “I’ve been worse Waylon. I’m fine.” Killer croc: “You look anything but fine. You sure that you don’t have a parasite--” Venom coming from Buddy’s shoulder: “PARASITE!?” Killer croc jumping a few feet back: “GEEZ!” Buddy rubbing their head: “Here we go again…”

After a lot of talking, persuasion and promises of another 2 boxes of chocolate, Venom calmed down enough to explain with Buddy their new relationship.

Croc was worried about Buddy even more now.

What if their family found out?

What if some scientist did?

Or the government?

Or worse… Amanda Waller finding out.

He lets them know right off the bat that if they ever needed a place to lay low that to come to him no matter what was after them.

While also threatening Venom and making him promise to keep them safe.

There was a lot of hostility between Croc and Venom for a while, until the two started talking.

They could agree on two things.

Humans and heroes sucked sometimes.

And they needed to protect Buddy.

Harley (Fucken) Quinn’s girls’ night out!

(I love Harley to the moon and back! But I have a special chapter for her when my story comes out, that I refuse to spoil!)

When Selina called her to inform her that Wonder Woman would be joining them, which she then had inform Dinah and Ivy, she was both super excited and nervous. (Since she used to have a big lesbian crush on Wonder Woman)

It took less time for Selina and Diana to show up than it took for Harley to set out more booze and order another batch of junk food. But before she could say something stupid, Ivy stepped in and got everyone settled down

”Pardon the intrusion, but Cat Woman informed me of a party only for the females and I wished to invite myself to partake in the festivities.” Diana explains as she finishes dragging Selina into Harley, and sometimes Ivy’s when they weren’t arguing over Harley being a sometimes hero, and towards the beanbags.

”No problem girly! The more, the merrier!” Harley returns the joy, pleased with herself when she didn’t stutter like a school girl.

”Honestly, I was hoping that Diana would be joining us, Ollie was telling me about the strangest kidnapping attempt just a few days ago. I’m kind of disappointed that I missed it.” Dinah chuckles as she picks up her wine glass and takes a sip of the dark red liquid.

”Oh yeah! Something about an attempted poisoning and a drug dealer getting her shit rocked by a thing of goop!” Harley adds, as she seen the thing on the news and became interested when she learned that the woman was actually attempting to the sell the kids to some couple at the gala, at least according to theories from certain rouges.

”Yes, speaking of that incident, Diana has some questions for you darling.” Selina gets straight to the point as she pours herself a tall glass of red wine and drowns it, knowing that she might as well be tipsy for this.

Harley stuffs a thing of nachos in her mouth, before turning to Diana (who was also devouring a whole box of Meat lovers Pizza and drinking from a can of cheap beer, as if she hasn’t eaten anything all day) and giving a her a look.

”Excuse me, it has been quite a week of searching for any leads to the mysterious child of goop and the warriors that follow it. It also takes a lot of energy to contact the Olympians to seek guidance and wisdom.” She excuses herself as she takes the napkin offered to her, and wipes the grease and crumbs off of her lips and hands.

”I was hoping to seek your wisdom Dr. Quinzel, as a woman trained in the mind.”

Harley blinks, and blinks once more before she realizes that Wonder Woman, The Wonder Woman, was asking for her professional help as a psychiatrist. ‘This is the best night of my life.’

”Hold up, I got to get my professional glasses on! And my notebook!”

Cue Selina, Dinah, Ivy, and a slightly drunk Nora Fries, clinging to the sides of walls, furniture, and other objects to get out of Dr. Quinzel’s way (Not wanting to be ran over or be dragged into a therapy session.)

Ivy and Selina grab and moves the table of food closer to their side of the living room/Kitchen area, as soon as Harley comes back in with her glasses on, her blonde (with some reds and blues dyed in) tied up in a ponytail, comfy pjs on, and a huge notebook in hand.

”Sorry that we can’t do this in a more professional setting, but I know that these girls can keep a secret. Well as long as it doesn’t bring harm to Nora and Selina, or Ivy.”

”Yes, I believe that the women you surround yourself with are trustworthy friends, and the advice I seek might benefit them as well. As I believe it is best to get more opinions into the matter at hand.”

Diana then goes onto to explain the warning her mother gave her and what her and the JL have been experiencing for the past few months: From the strange message on a copper spider to Luther asking the JL for safety for himself and his personal staff.

Cue a mix of fierce determination, fear, and just WTF that sparks a realization in Harley’s PHD brain.

Cue her spending the rest of the night creating a timeline, including the information that Nora gave her in a private session (aka weird people asking about Dr. Fries experiments and his knowledge on Cryogenic technology, and how long someone could last inside a Cryotube), which she made sure to keep private.

It takes a few more rounds of drinks and food before the rest of the ladies pass out (from the alcohol or exhaustion, she didn’t question it) and for Harley to set up a private meeting with the Riddler and Scarecrow (both who were still in Gotham Asylum for….reasons).

Harley checks her notebook one more time, before she carefully puts into her bulletproof, lock breaking proof, explosion proof, safe and locks it up for tomorrow afternoon, before taking a double shot of straight vodka.

’Life was soooo much easier as a supervillain. But, being under John Doe’s thumb was a lot worse.’
