Both Lucy, Lily, and Lizzie go by shortened versions of their full names: Lucy's full first name is Lucille (I wanted to name her Lucy but it seemed a bit too informal), Lily is Lilith (One's a flower, the other's a demon), and Lizzie is Elizabeth. Lizzie and Lucy tend to go by their nicknames, they're alot less formal (and in Lizzie's case, it's inspired by Lizard. Which is appropriate, her being a dragon.) Lily I could see using both in different situations. Lily with family and friends, Lilith when she wants to be intimidating. Her mom also calls her "my little fireball" too.
Lucy and Simon also have TONS of nicknames from various family members, especially Dad and Mom, as well as Hebrew names since they're Jewish. (Liorit and Shimown, respectively.)

Asparagus was an ancient vegetable. The ancient Greeks and Romans used it as offerings dating back to 3000 BC. They used the Persian word âasparag,â which meant a shoot or sprout. The term âsperageâ became popular for many years and, in the 16th century, we find the term âsparagusâ used in English-speaking countries. Peasants called it âsparrow grass.â
Asparagus was brought to North America by European settlers as early as 1655. A Dutch immigrant to New Netherland, Adriaen van der Donck, refers to asparagus in his description of Dutch farming practices in the New World. This vegetable was also grown by British immigrants. In 1685, an advertisement for Pennsylvania by William Penn displaying a list of crops that grew well in the American climate included asparagus.
Currently, asparagus production in the United States is mainly in three states: California, Michigan, and Washington. In 2019, the national average asparagus yield was around 4,076 pounds per acre and the total asparagus production was 84.39 million pounds.
Asparagus can take three years to go from seed to harvest, but the plants will produce spears for decades, making it a great crop. However, it is quite labor-intensive, as farmworkers handpick each spear. They carefully excavate around each spear to a depth of nine inches and clip it at the base. Thatâs a lot of work!
Once seen as an offering for the gods, asparagus continues to be celebrated today. In 2019, Oceana County, Michigan celebrated its 46th National Asparagus Festival. Asparagus is kind of a big deal.

Bought this Roast Potato Chicken Sausage Pizza (S$2.40) from Swee Heng 1989 Signature to try out. The chunks of potato didnât contributed much to the overall taste of the pizza as it is rather plain by itself. I rather buy the one with pineapple in it. I introduced the Spicy Korean Chicken (S$1.90) bread to my colleagues and they all enjoyed it. The bread base has a chewy texture which goes well with the marinated spicy chicken meat.
