I am a broken record and I love my boy so now I’m thinking thanks to the new WFA update “If every Bat has their designated Super/Amazon/Flash then who would they have if they had their own Marvel?”
Now I grace y’all with this
Bruce and Billy; Worked the same teams, are basically the leaders/organizers of their families in some capacity or the other.
Dick and Darla; a big brother-esque relationship with Dick wanting to look out for and coach the youngest member of the Marvel family and make sure she’s handling things well and not taking on too much, gets more than he bargained for the first time Darla causes a unicorn stampede and whatever villain Dick was fighting gets injured with a unicorn horn stab wound.
Jason and Pedro; Another big brother situation where Jason coaches Pedro through some self esteem issues, are the “big guys” of their families but both appreciate just chilling with a quiet moment to read a good book or vibe to a good song. Not as much hero-friends as they just get along well
Tim and Freddy; We’re both YJ members and worked on the same larger teams, both are lunatics and encourage the other. Commit 110% to the insanity they get into as heroes
Cass and Mary; Both creatives who get along as civilians and are separate forces of nature in costume, Cass likes having another friend to fly with
Babs and Eugene; World class hacker and information broker with the kid prodigy on government watchlists for his hacking? Yes.
I couldn’t think of who’d work well with Duke cause I don’t know a lot about him still but I think Freddy and/or Darla are the better contenders, especially with what I’ve heard about Duke where they’d probably fit well together with “Doesn’t look like they could do a thing wrong, has committed multiple felonies”

ROUND 1C, MATCH 4 OUT OF 8!
Causes of Death & Propaganda Under the Cut:
Cordelia Chase
Cause of Death: Became comatose due to childbirth, eventually died
Propaganda:
A fiercely witty, complex and independent character - she was Always her own woman, only briefly having romantic relationships and it never defined her character for 6 seasons on both Buffy & Angel. Unfortunately the show producer was an abusive misogynist who targeted Cordelia's character specifically for humiliation when her actress Charisma Carpenter became pregnant. He is a colossal dick, and a terrible writer. Cordelia and Charisma deserved better.
I love her so much
Darla
Cause of Death: Sacrificed herself to save her unborn child
Propaganda:
She's a super old kickass vampire who was a terrifying and fantastic villain - she comes back just to be pregnant (it's this whole weird prophecy thing). And be conflicted because she's a killer but she's worried she's probably going to kill the baby once it's born and so she kills herself first and dies in the arms of her ex-boyfriend and HE is sad about it and has to protect the child and she's never really mentioned again outside of flashbacks (still about the male hero, not about her). Yes Angel the Series has so many problems.
Winifred "Fred" Burkle
Cause of Death: Died while being possessed by a demon
Propaganda:
Imagine taking an incredibly smart, traumatised, dorky, strong, paranoid, loving and curious character who is an Expert of physics and portals and basically the brains of the group by s5 and making her entire damn arc about the men she's with. Because she's the only woman left on the show (all the others have been killed off! yay??) and YET still killing her off and making her dying all about how powerless her boyfriend feels. Who gives a shit about her, her boyfriend is sad!
she's quirky and kind and really smart and somehow emerged from a hell dimension relatively sane

Yo so like, r u ok writing for Peter Parker?? If so, could you write a Peter x Male Reader where the reader is both a charmer and peter’s ultimate hype man (sorry Ned). Around prom season, Peter asks the reader for help to ask his crush to the prom, and the reader is sadge bc he thinks it’s MJ. Slight chaos and maybe some nervous gay boy stuff ensues??
Roses
Yes, I'd love to write for Peter Parker! (And because you brought up Ned I'm assuming it's Tom Holland's Peter.)
Also, I'm in love with this prompt <3

Peter Parker x Male!Reader
---
Peter was at his locker, talking to Ned about his Lego death star, when (Y/N) approached his locker. Peter closed it and raised his eyebrows at (Y/N), while Ned jumped in shock (neither had seen him approach but Peter's spidey-senses- or should I say "Peter-Tingles"- came in handy).
"Are you guys planning a Star Wars marathon without me?" (Y/N)'s jaw dropped with a betrayed look on his face, hand to his heart. "What happened to the brotherhood?"
Ned snorted and Peter laughed, turning to walk down the hallway.
"We were gonna' invite you anyways, (Y/N), we always do," Ned reassured, giving in to his teasing.
"Good. So, whaddya' say, Pete? Star Wars at your house this Friday?" (Y/N) asked, putting his hand on Peter's shoulder and smiling at him as they walked.
Clearing his throat quietly, Peter nodded. "Yeah, that sounds like a plan."
"It's a good thing too, because I need help studying for this chem test coming up, and I was wondering if you'd help me?" (Y/N) asked him, hand still on his shoulder.
In truth, (Y/N) was barely getting by in chemistry for a reason. It's not that he wasn't smart enough or that he wasn't putting in the work- it was that he was sat next to Peter and couldn't stop looking at him. Trying to goof off with him in class was one of (Y/N)'s favorite pastimes, and what got them in trouble the most.
This gave him an excuse to beg Peter desperately for help with his homework, therefore getting to spend more time with him. It was a solid plan in his mind.
"For sure! Studying and then Star Wars, sounds like the perfect Friday," Peter said back, always too nice (or too love-struck) to say no to (Y/N).
Ned looked between them, realizing they were doing the smiling-at-each-other-for-too-long thing, and coughed to get their attention.
(Y/N) and Peter both looked over at him and Ned smiled, "So, got any dates to prom yet?" It was meant to be a joke, the three of them in the "nerd" clique, even though realistically they were all very attractive and much more than just nerds. (Considering one of them was the web-slinging super hero, they were much more than just smart.)
"Nope," (Y/N) and Peter said in unison, laughing together.
"What about you, Ned?" (Y/N) asked back, and Ned shook his head like it was a joke he was even asking.
"Who'd wanna go out with me?" Ned asked a bit glumly, thinking he was the unattractive one in their friend group.
"Well, I have an idea." (Y/N) winked at him and pointed down the hallway. A girl named Darla, who they'd gone to school with since elementary, noticed she'd been caught staring and blushed, turning back to her locker quickly.
Ned stuttered for a minute, his face heating up. "No, she must've been looking at one of you-"
"Dude, she's been in love with you since the eighth grade!" (Y/N) insisted, moving between Peter and Ned and throwing his arm over Ned's shoulder. "I bet you twenty bucks that if you ask her out she'll say yes."
Shaking his head in doubt, Ned stuttered again, before giving up.
"She'll probably be asked out by the captain of the football team or something- that's always what happens with the cheerleaders."
"Oh, come on buddy. You've got a chance, you're the only one that doesn't see it," Peter insisted.
"She knows me because I help her with her calculus homework..."
"Just try. If not, what's the worse that can happen?" (Y/N) asked nonchalantly.
"I'll get humiliated."
"Or she could say yes," Peter countered.
"Fine, I'll do it if you guys leave me alone about it."
"That's all I ask." (Y/N) held his hands up in surrender. Then he turned to Peter and they fist bumped.
Once they got outside Ned split off, going his own way home while (Y/N) pulled out his skateboard. Happy waved from the limousine at Peter, letting him know that he was here to take him to Tony.
(Y/N) let out a low whistle, looking at the limo. "Nice ride, Parker. Perks from the internship?"
"Uh, yeah. Yeah, Mr. Stark sends Happy to pick me up when its more urgent." Technically it wasn't a full lie, he'd usually only get picked up by Happy if it involved emergencies.
"Well, drive safe. Text me if you need anything, or just if you're bored." (Y/N) pulled Peter into a hug, patting his back and putting down his skateboard.
"See you tomorrow!" Peter patting him back before watching him skate off, looking back to Happy. As he approached the door opened, and his jaw dropped as he saw Tony.
"Was that your boyfriend?" he teased, glasses at the end of his nose.
"Oh! Mr. Stark, I didn't know-"
"Hop in kid, we've got places to be."
...
Knocking on the Parker's apartment door, (Y/N) played with the colorful box in his hands.
May opened it, smiling when she saw who it was.
"(Y/N)! It's such a pleasure to have you, Ned and Peter are in Peter's room." May pulled him into a hug and (Y/N) returned it, smiling at the comfort he got every time he was welcomed into their home.
"Thanks, May. Here, my mom made you those cupcakes you like." He held out the box and May gasped, her smile getting brighter.
"Oh, that woman..." she shook her head in amusement. "Tell her thanks! Now I've got to make her that pasta she likes so much."
(Y/N) laughed and patted May's shoulder before making his way to Peter's room.
"Happy Friday boys!" (Y/N) announced as he walked into his room.
"You said that this morning," Ned commented laughing as (Y/N) slung his backpack to the floor.
"No, this morning I said 'It's Friday'. This time it's happy," (Y/N) corrected with a smirk, sitting down on the floor with Peter and Ned.
"Don't forget, it's not just Star Wars it's also studying," Peter reminded with a laugh, pulling his books out of his backpack.
(Y/N) let out a dramatic groan, clearly joking, because he didn't mind what he did as long as he got to hang out with his friends (especially Peter).
About half an hour into studying, Ned left to use the bathroom and Peter and (Y/N) started talking.
"You've asked people out before, right (Y/N)?"
"Yeah, why? You got someone in mind?" MJ was (Y/N)'s first guess. (Y/N) had seen how he looked at MJ and wished it was him instead.
Peter, on the other hand, was only thinking of (Y/N). He was extremely handsome and charming, always jokingly flirting with Peter- but no matter how smart he was, he was oblivious to Peter's obvious attraction to him.
"Uh, yeah, I do. I was wondering if you could help me ask them out to prom? Just like, give me tips or something on how to impress them..." Peter nervously chuckled as he trailed off, scratching the back of his head.
"Oh, sure! But I'm not sure there's much I can say to help. You're a really great guy Peter, and anybody would be lucky to have you. I know everyone says this, but just be yourself and depending on the reaction you get it'll tell you if they're the right person for you or not." (Y/N) shrugged, not really sure what else to say.
Peter nodded, trying to figure out how to impress (Y/N). "Should I get them flowers? Or make one of those 'promposal' signs?"
"I always thought those signs were kind of tacky, but if you think they'll like it then I think you should go for it. And I think the flowers are a nice idea..." (Y/N) tried to give him a smile, but he didn't think it looked very confident. It hurt, not knowing if he liked (Y/N) back- but it hurt worse knowing he liked someone else.
"Okay. Okay, I'll bring them flowers. What kind do you think I should get?"
Just then, Ned walked back into the room, stopping hesitantly in the doorway as if he'd interrupted something.
"Hey, Ned," (Y/N) greeted, smiling at him.
"What's up?" Ned asked, still not sure if he should sit back down or not. He considered making an excuse about asking May for snacks or something, but they weren't giving him any clear signs that he wasn't welcome in the conversation.
"Just talking about asking people to prom," Peter responded with a shrug, going back to his homework.
"Peter was wondering what flowers he should get for his crush," (Y/N) gained back some confidence with the joke, nudging Peter playfully.
"Oh?" Ned asked, eyebrows up as he retook his seat on the ground, looking between the two. He noticed their behavior and realized it was going to be weird for a while- and that he couldn't say anything. He held back a sigh at that thought.
"Yeah, what kind do you think I should get them, Ned?" Peter asked as (Y/N) started twirling his pen in his hand.
"Who're they for? Everyone has favorite flowers, right?" Ned thought aloud, looking through his notes.
"I say roses. Everybody likes roses," (Y/N) concluded, nodding as he talked.
The boys went back to studying (and eventually Star Wars).
...
Monday morning's were always rough, and prom was that Saturday so everybody was buzzing (much to (Y/N)'s annoyance).
Closing his locker with a yawn he turned to walk to his first class, chemistry with Peter, just to be jump scared by said boy.
"Woah! Peter, hey. Gave me a heart attack," (Y/N) mumbled as he clutched his chest, his breathing ragged.
"Sorry! Didn't mean to..." Peter looked sheepish as he gulped down his nerves.
"Are you okay? You look really... sweaty." That's when (Y/N) noticed the roses in his hand and his mood dropped. "Oh, you must be nervous to ask out your crush, huh?"
Peter nodded, taking in a deep breath.
"Yeah. I just hope he says yes." And he held out the flowers with a almost scared looking smile.
"(Y/N), will you go to prom with me?"
His jaw hit the floor, eyes wide with confusion and shock. He never thought in a million years Peter would ask him out, much less over MJ, who was watching from her locker next to his with a smirk.
Truth is, Peter knew that MJ and (Y/N) shared an art class and were friends, so he asked her for advice. That's what led to the awkward study conversation, and the roses in front of (Y/N)'s face.
"Wait- what? Really?" (Y/N) asked, searching Peter's face for any hints of a prank or deception. "You're shitting me, right Parker?"
Peter just shook his head, heart racing a mile a minute.
"You said roses, so I got you roses. I'm sure if you knew I was meaning you you'd have said another kind of flower but I couldn't figure out how to ask you what your favorite flower was without giving myself away-" Peter rambled, fumbling with the paper around the bouquet of roses.
(Y/N) put his hand on Peter's fumbling one and smiled at him, "I'd love to go to prom with you, Peter. I love the roses- and I'm so glad you didn't make one of those stupid poster boards."
The boys broke into somewhat relieved laughter and Peter pulled him into a hug.
That's when they remembered that they were in the middle of a highschool hallway. Everybody was staring at them, and both of their faces were shades warmer than before.
Ned, always the loyal friend, stepped in.
"Darla!" he all but shouted through the hallway, everybody's attention going to him. He was holding a singular tulip in his hand and was sweating bullets. "Will you go to prom with me?"
Some kids started laughing, but they turned into gasps as Darla nearly squealed as she nodded her head, her curls bouncing with her movement.
"Yes, Ned! I'd love to!" She hugged him, while he just stood there in absolute astonishment. His original plan was to pull attention away from his best friends by being humiliated, not by pulling the most beautiful and talented girl in the school.
(Y/N) started clapping and hollering, Peter soon joining him.
Then the bell rang, and everybody started going to their classes.
...
"I still can't believe that happened," Ned whispered from Peter's carpeted floor, staring up at the ceiling in amazement.
Peter and (Y/N) sat on his bed, putting together the Lego death star shoulder to shoulder. They'd steal looks at each other every once in a while, blushing at their newfound romance.
When they watched a movie with May later that night they held hands and shared a blanket, and all May did was smile at them when she noticed.
---
Yippee!!!
Not as chaotic as I'm sure you were hoping, but I thoroughly enjoyed writing this.
Thank you anon! I hope you liked it.

Billy Batson and the Super Sons Sleepover Party
Good evening, y'all. I am comfy in my bed with my plush frog from Build-A-Bear, and I got thinking. Man. I missed out on sleepover parties as a kid.
And then. Bam. Billy Batson ideas came popping in.
What if Billy Batson, pen pal/frenemy to Damian Wayne, was invited to a sleepover at his house after months of talking to each other through a school sponsored pen pal service? I think they'd be good friends, but also, imagine Billy not knowing Damian is Robin and meeting Jon Kent, Damian's other friend, at that sleepover at Damian's house.
Bruce and the batfam are happy that Damian is making normal friends who aren't involved in the superhero business.
Damian is glad to finally meet his pen pal/frenemy in person, and to talk all about animals with Billy. And also, prove Billy Batson wrong that Batman is better than Super man in a face-to-face argument.
And Jon is just happy to be there.
The hilarious shenanigans that could ensue from Billy being inside the Wayne manor, trying not to reveal his magical identity as Captain Marvel while also noticing a strange magical energy source in downtown Gothom...that may or may not be a malicious threat to everyone.
There's also the option of a scenario where Billy's identity as Captain Marvel is known to the league and Super boy and Robin are allowed over to Victor and Rosa's house for a sleepover with the shazamily.
Damian would easily get annoyed by Freddy, but also impressed by his collection of information on heroes and Eugene's technological intelligence. Super Boy and Darla would be fast friends, 100%. Pedro tried to lift more weights than Jon. Mary would be the responsible one in charge and make sure the others don't stay up too late or watch any horror movies. Billy sneaks in a horror movie.
And I am cackling at the thought of Dr. Sivana choosing this as the time to attack the city, now having to face the wrath of not only the shazamily, but also two sons of major superheroes in their pajamas, furious that their sleepover was ruined.

Why Bernard fails as a love interest for Tim
So this write up will explain why Bernard ultimately fails as a love interest for Tim
First off, he makes no sense to be paired with Tim. He only appeared in six issues and none of his interactions with Tim gave us insight into who Tim was as a character or lead to any meaningful developments. The whole 'he represents the War Games era of Tim in terms of uncertainity' or 'his civilian life before losing his dad' is just untrue as we never see Tim seriously appreciate his friendship like he does with say Ives, or the people at Brentwood as something that keeps him grounded or as a distraction from the hero life/normaly he needs nor do his interactions with Tim show said uncertainty like the struggle of balancing the civilian/hero life that we saw his above friends do. All of his appearances are either comic relief or a springboard/exposition for more important developments such as Tim's relationship with Darla (ugh)
There is also how he wasn't a close friend of Tim and more often than not, Tim was shown to not like him too much. At best they were casual friends and none of their interactions went beyond that. The nicest thing Tim said about him is that he "THINKS he's going to END UP LIKING" him not that he actually does so which at best shows Tim is willing to give him a shot.
At worst? Well
Yeah. The first panel is his first impression of him while the last three are the LAST interactions/mentions Tim has with him and occur after saying he 'thinks he's going to end up liking him'.
It makes no sense why Tim would even want to reconnect with him let alone date him. Tim's opinion of Bernard went from "I guess we can be friends but this guy is sus to "maybe he's not so bad and deserves a shot" to "nah screw this guy". It's telling we keep getting sold a false meta history of them being super close friends and have Bernard essentially replace Ives to try and sell the pairing.
And being honest? The notion of Tim dating the guy who perved on his stepmom who appeared in six issues and this is being pushed as his OTP over Stephanie is just an absurd concept.
Second of all. Like it really doesn't do anything for Tim at all.
Bernard doesn't help Tim grow as a character, or even as a person relationship wise as Tim is still doing the same faults he did in past relationships with civilians not telling them he is Robin, keeping secrets, cutting dates/missing them, etc). but they are "resolved" by just making Bernard some ultra perfect guy who knows Tim's identity
Aka the resolution he had with Stephanie in terms of the civilian/hero life balance of having someone who knows both, so Tim is getting a balance he already had and not to mention you can't even say Tim progressed in this manner or learned from his mistakes as he never revealed his ID in the first place, so it requires no growth on his end) (never explained how he does, not to mention watering down Tim's competence in keeping his ID) so it's all moot.
Tim also doesn't progress in his civilian life at all. Like he lives on a boat and (it is said that Bernard helped motivate him to do this but never shown/explained at all and all we see is Bernard saying he likes it and the people there)? Like he doesn't even meaningfuly develop a connection with the people there aside from friendly neighbors at best. As an example There was this "subplot" of them being in danger of being evicted but Tim just doesn't care at all or do anything. Like why not use some of his wealth from his dad or something to like buy people's boats and resell them at a cheaper price so the people can stay?
The people on the boat don't even offer him a meaningful civilian connection as like I said he just doesn't connect with them and even then that civilian connection is kind of moot in the last issue when they all know his identity as Robin so that balance or finding a solution is rendered moot for the same reasons as above as he already found that balance with the Batfamily/YJ friends who know both aspects of his life and again he didn't even it reveal it to them.
Like what do they offer him? People to chill in a non-vigilante way? Like he can already do that with the Batfam/YJ and not to mention that as the series showed the Marina got involved in a lot of Robin related stuff because of Tim's ID, so it's also moot.
Another point is how Bernard for a 'relationship for Tim beyond Robin' really is a relationship where the substance largely comes from Robin. Like aside from Robin is how they got together which Bernard even states in issue 3, in the beginning of issue 7 when Bernard list why he likes Tim all the things he likes about him are reflective of his role as Robin. Like his whole trusting Tim to keep him safe, Tim being special, and Tim being his lucky charm, the examples he uses are of Tim saving him as Robin/being Robin.
And issue 7 also shows like I said above that what saves the relationship is Bernard knowing that Tim is Robin. Not to mention how he really only opens up to Tim/confides in him seriously when Tim is Robin as shown in issue 3 and 9. Hell in issue 3 when he talks about wanting to help Tim, knowing that he knows his ID, when he talks about Tim 'taking too much on his own and not asking for help and loosing himself or whatever' we know it's about Robin.
And issue 10 the grand saving moment for their relationship after the 'falling out' in issue 9 was Bernard saving the day in a Robin related mission and getting the ID reveal (but not really)
Issue 7 highlights how Tim really doesn't do anything for Bernard as Tim. Like all he does is tell him that his parents suck, he's great to make him feel better, and tell us a bunch of stuff about Bernard we've never seen before.....twice and given how the issue kept emphasizing this point (to the point where villains commented on it) and how over the top his parents/with Bernards heroic it felt generic and like the bare minimum and Tim felt like an exposition device.
Tim never really talks to him about his issues with his parents or actually substantially helps him as after Tim does the above it immediately cuts back to their relationship for cute moments. Like Bernard giving him the necklace isn't even connected to Tim 'helping' as he was gonna do that anyway.
Tim as a civilain is just the BF and the real substance comes from Robin (as it was a Robin related mission and Tim saving civilians as Bernard which lead/inspired Bernard trying to save his parents and oh look Robin once again is tied to their relationship)
TLDR: Bernard doesn't make sense as a pairing, doesn't do anything for Tim as a character nor fulfill the purpose he was supposedly brought back for

Two words. Magic. Heist.
Billy and his shazamily are having breakfast one day when they see on the news that a dangerous and extremely rare magical artifact is being unveiled at a museum in Gothom. Immediately they are freaking out, concerned for the well being of the Gothom citizens and worrying about what magical threat this could unleash upon the world.
It's recognized as a missing artifact from the Rock of Eternity, when Black Adam nearly caused a cave in one day, and was never seen again-until now, that is. The shazamily/marvel family are still pretty new to the scene of heroes, so they don't exactly know Batman or the other rogue heroes of Gothom yet; this, along with the urgency to collect the artifact ASAP, and not wanting to get scared by Batman (Darla's voice on the matter), pushed the shazamily to brilliantly think of a plan to steal the artifact back without anyone knowing.
A magic heist for the sake of good!
...too bad the batfam catches onto a rumor of a plan to steal the artifact in the museum and ends up causing a sudden meeting between the two families.
An introduction for Captain Marvel to batman, and soon, the Justice League. An awkward one at that.
I'm just having some thoughts rn and wanted you to hear them. I really want to write a fic where the shazamily and the batfam meet, especially with a scenario of Darla becoming friends with Damian and Freddy accidentally finding out the batfam's secret identities while Batman continues to struggle to find theirs.
Oh my God this is such a fun idea!
I can totally see the heist being Freddy’s idea. Like with their powers of speed and flight what could go wrong? (Many things can and do go wrong, especially once that bats get involved)
They get caught red handed and panic a little. None of them want to fight Batman, but they also don't want to explain themselves either.
Batman is convinced they're supervillains, but has trouble sticking to that conviction when they all desperately try to explain that the artifact is going to destroy Gotham and Darla starts crying.
Billy and Mary would probably try to be responsible when the JL arrives but they are Stressed. I imagine that in this scenario, even after the Shazamily has joined up with the JL, some heroes like Green Lantern or Flash would ask them "so, have you stolen any cool artifacts lately?" Just to tease them.
Darla and Damian forming a bond over being the youngest siblings who are vegetarian and love animals. He's super standoffish at first but Darla doesn't care at all. In fact that means it's her mission to make him smile.
Also Freddy figuring the bats out in like two days because he's an encyclopedia of superhero trivia is top notch.
#ask me whatever you want y'all#billy batson#shazam#dc captain marvel#Shazamily#batman#darla dudley#damian wayne#dc comics#the hijinks for this one would be so funny

Chapter Two: The Premonition (Charley's POV)
I sat on the roof, smoking while I waited for Jason to page me. He didn't like me smoking around him, so I tried to smoke before and after we hung out. I gave myself enough time to shower and change clothes if I needed to. He never complained, but I knew he preferred I didn't smell like I just smoked a bowl when we hung out.
I met him through Eddie a few years back, and he seemed chill. A little weird, but we were all kind of strange. I was new to Jersey, but he welcomed me in and made me feel like I fit in there, even though I didn't. I didn't stay on the roof long because it was freezing out.
I showered and changed clothes before grabbing my keys to head out. Jason came in the door with an empty suitcase. "We're going," Jason announced, "We're going to Happy Harbor this weekend."
I burped smoke and apologized before plopping on the couch. Jason said a lot of weird crap, but I chalked that up to brain damage. He'd been having premonitions about his brother, and he told me something loomed just outside the gates of the immortal. I didn't know what it meant, but I don't think he did either. Jason washed his hands and poured a glass of milk. "Why are we going to Happy Harbor?" I asked.
"Because my brother is at the center of the disturbance... And he's going. Do you wanna come?" Jason asked. I shrugged and nodded. "Do you?"
"Yeah, yeah. I'll come... Jason, did you sleep here last night, man?" I asked. He shook his head. Sometimes he didn't sleep, and he'd drive around. He'd been like that since I met him. I met him in the kitchen, took a frozen pizza out of the fridge, and slapped it onto a pan. Jason sighed and took the pizza out of the box before placing it in the oven.
Most people would think two people like us shouldn't live together, but I think I reminded him of somebody. And I liked having somebody around that didn't treat me like a freak. He also didn't lose it when he walked in on me with some guy I met, in flagrante delicto, as one of the Sisters of Mercy would call it. I call it the Lotus.
Actually, that was recent. I tried to hide the fact that I preferred to drive a stick from time to time, but it was always hard to hide it from the people I lived with. Jason was different, though. When the guy left, I collected myself and tried to explain, but he shrugged it off and said he'd seen worse. So, sue me if I don't judge the guy for his hallucinations.
"I drove up to Blüdhaven to see my brother. He got in right before I got ready to leave. I waited for him all night... You should probably start packing tonight. We leave tomorrow morning so we can beat my brother there," Jason mumbled. I sat down and pulled my hair into a bun.
I didn't tell him what to do unless I thought he was doing something dangerous, so I didn't give him my opinion on the whole vacation thing. Besides, I wanted to get out of Gotham for the weekend, and Happy Harbor sounded like a relaxing vacation spot. "Jay, what's the weather like?" I asked. I laughed involuntarily and ran a hand over my face to pull myself together.
"It's in Rhode Island, so I imagine it's freezing. The hottest it gets up there is eighty," Jason answered, "And it's the middle of fall, so I wouldn't bank on it being a nice sunny seventy out there."
I forgot how sarcastic he could be when he wasn't having premonitions. I didn't hate it, though. I think that was his way of telling people he was okay. Jason wasn't a touchy-feely emotional guy, but neither was I, so it worked. "Your brother's gonna be okay," I whispered. I didn't have any siblings, so I didn't understand all the feelings surrounding him and his brother. Whenever I saw them together, I thought they hated each other.
"I got you a suitcase... Charley, remember to pack. We leave at six tomorrow morning," Jason explained. I zoned out after that, but I think he was monologuing. I came to when I smelled the pizza he'd taken out of the oven, and I watched as Jason took a slice for himself. I blinked hard and started eating.
There was something so sensual about the first bite of food after a smoke. I shut my eyes and made a soft noise as I ate the crust first. Jason chuckled. He didn't like me smoking, but he got a kick out of me eating after a smoke. "I've never seen anyone eat a pizza ass first before," Jason laughed.
"Listen-." I fell into a fit of laughter mid-sentence. "Ass first?"
"Yeah, because the crust fucking sucks. No one eats the worst part first," Jason cracked up. I hate to say it, but he was cute when he smiled. I always wanted to go there with Jason because he felt safe, but I never got any indication that he was anything other than straight. Besides, it never would've worked. Jason had a lot going on in his head, and I did too. He was a for life type, and I was more of a for the night type. I was bummed after that because I stopped laughing and returned to my large pizza in silence. About an hour after I ate, I took a nap and packed for our trip.
Jason took his shower and fell asleep on the couch, where he talked in his sleep. I tried to ignore it because some of the stuff he said in his sleep made me feel paranoid. But this time, it was different. Worse. Jason tossed and turned on the couch so roughly that I sat on the floor in front of him to keep him from falling. He grabbed my shoulder in his sleep and scared the shit out of me. "Stay out of the water. Stay out," Jason moaned, "Charley. The water." A chill ran up my spine, and he shot up, panting as he searched around the room.
"Jason... Jason," I whispered as I grabbed his wrist. "Jason, are you-."
Jason jumped off the couch and into my arms. I never saw him that emotional before. It freaked me out. "Please don't swim this weekend, Charley. Promise me you won't swim," Jason begged. I hesitantly rubbed his back to calm him down, but I was as scared as he was. Jason held on so tight my back cracked. Oh yeah, I forgot to say the dude was jacked. Thick neck, giant biceps, built like a fucking tank.
"If I promise to stay away from the water this weekend, will you let go of me?" I asked. Jason let go and nodded. He had to pull himself together, but I was still spooked. "I promise... And next time you call my name like that in your sleep, I'm gonna need you to take me out to dinner, Kid." Jason chuckled and shook his head. "Why'd you want me to come with you tomorrow? Be real with me."
"We'll all be together... I think we'll be alright if we stay together," Jason whispered. He stood up and walked away before hiding his face in his hands. "I've never had one that vivid before... Charley, please don't forget what you promised me... Please don't forget."
I felt terrible for him. Eddie said he wasn't always like that. Before the accident, Eddie said he wasn't as fearful. Everyone warned me not to listen to his delusions or feed into them, but his instincts were good, and he'd never been wrong before about the normal-sounding stuff. It was more than reasonable for me to believe that staying out of the water in an area where it'd be freezing out was a solid warning.
Jason paced back and forth by the fire escape, and my hands shook as I tried to pull myself together for him. We couldn't both be scared. I owed it to him to be the brave one for once. If I owed anybody anything, it was Jason. "Jason, c'mere. Stop-. Stop pacing and look for a minute. Nothing's gonna happen to me because I'm gonna listen to you," I reassured him. Jason nodded, but I could see his mind was already made up. He looked like he wanted to cry. It was like I was already gone. I'd never seen him like that. It was weird and fucked up, and I dreaded the trip ahead. I was so fucked up over it that I couldn't even think to smoke. Instead, I decided to keep my head straight until we got to the Harbor on Saturday. I thought it'd give us both some peace of mind. Still, I didn't think Jason would sleep after that. There was no way. And there was no way he'd be able to drive on forty-five minutes of sleep. Relaxing trip, my ass.

THE GUY ACROSS THE STREET
PAIRINGS: FREDDY FREEMAN X M!READER
PART 2 OF BACKYARD BOY
SUMMARY: You couldn't help but notice the cute neighbor next door who was a mega super hero fan, once he forgot his comic book at school you instantly used it as an excuse to get to know him.
WARNINGS: Swearing.
You sat down under the tree in your backyard, reading the latest batman comic book that you had recently bought. You adjusted the beanie on your head. You had quickly grabbed a random outfit from your closet, luckily it was a plain black shirt, a flannel and some cargos. You look up, smiling at the sunset before turning your head around, and there he was. Your neighbor. You smiled before turning back to the book.
Honestly, if anyone asked, you weren't reading the comic anymore, just thinking of the guy cross the street. Your thoughts are interrupted as you see a little girl standing in-front of your backyard. You found a ball that was obviously kicked there. You stand up and give her the ball.
"Thank you!" She smiled at you as you gave her the ball. "I'm Darla!"
"Y/n." You smiled at the girl, waving at her as she walked into the house in-front of you.
You debated with yourself, deciding if you should walk up to the door and just get to know the guy who lived across the street or just go up to your room.
My room. Definetly.
You pick up your comic book, walking towards the door and walking up the stairs. Your parents were gone on a business trip. Busy doing each other alright. You thought as you closed your bedroom door. You opened the window to let some air in s it was too stuffy. You walked over to your dresser, doing some of your makeup since you were bored. You looked at your phone to find message from Brett.
Party at mine?
You rolled your eyes at the message, Brett always seemed so innocent and kind yet this was another one of his tricks to attempt to humiliate you, he did this everyday, trying to bully you because of your sexuality. You just didn't give enough fucks to do anything.
Fuck off breyer.
You smiled at the message you sent before you removed your laptop from the charger, you place it on the bed, taking out some snacks and you decided to watch a horror movie to pass the time. You looked out the window to find your neighbor looking at your house, you couldn't help but stare at the guy who lived across the street.
You groaned as you sat in English, taking out your material pens. You decided to draw on your copybook, you often drew on things such as your shoes. Most people thought it was nerdy but you loved it, and you didn't give two flying fucks. You watched as the boy across the street walked in and sat in his place beside you. You didn't know if you were crazy or not, but it looked like he stared at you.
Yes, stared.
You smiled to yourself as you watched the english teacher walk in, you rolled your eyes before continuing your doodling, you could have sworn that your neighbor kept making glances at you, smiling each time. You weren't even focusing on the lesson, you were busy doodling in your notebook.
"Freddy! Focus!" Your english teacher yelled at your neighbor, he apologizes at your teacher before turning back to you, smiling. once the lesson was over, he quickly left, forgetting his comic book.
Your favorite comic.
You quickly grabbed his comic, he had already disappeared by the time you left the room, luckily, he lived across you so you just decided to give him back the comic book once you get home.
The day was a breeze, luckily English was the period before your last, so you only had one last lesson before you went home. You walked up to your room, placing everything in it's place before adjusting your outfit. You take out a sticky note, writing down a comment and your number.
You've got some taste if you actually like this comic, maybe we should hang out someday?
You close the pen, putting it aside as you put the comic back into your backpack. You had. tutoring session in an hour so you might ass well drop off the comic book. You walk towards his house, ringing the door bell only for his mother to answer.
"Why hello there." She greets you, you smile at her.
"Hi, I uh, live across the street, I go to the same school at Freddy he forgot this." You tell her, she nods letting you in the house, you follow her up the stairs and into a hallway.
"Someone's here to see you honey." his mother said before smiling at her son, letting you in. You smiled at the boy, you could tell that he was clearly anxious.
"Hey." you greeted the clearly flustered boy, you smiled at him, taking out the comic book from your backpack. "You left this at school, we sit next to each other in English."
You gave him the comic book, Freddy quickly took it, his hands were soft and you already missed their touch.
"Oh, thanks." Freddy took the comic book from his hand. For a moment, he had touched Backyard boys hand, and he wouldn't dare to trade it for anything. "Thanks uh."
"Y/n." You answered, you smiled at the boy before walking away.
"Freddy!" Freddy yelled, gaining your attention, he looks at him confused. "My name, is Freddy."
"Okay, see you later Freddy." you waved at the boy before walking out of the room.
Freddy smiled as he played with your hair, weeks passed since that day, the day that got them together. A week later, and they had gone on their first date. A day at the park, Freddy had planned it to perfection, picnic, comic shopping, matching necklaces.
"Whatcha looking at?" you asked Freddy who just smiled.
"My gorgeous boyfriend." Freddy answered causing you to blush, you turn your face around, looking at the birds flying. you couldn't believe himself, there he sat, in the garden where you first saw him.
Where he first saw the boy across the street.

The Mosley Review: Shazam! Fury of the Gods
There is a sense of balance that has been missing in the big blockbuster films these days. The balance between telling a story that has a theme that resonates with throughout the story and then the big CGI spectacle of the opening, mid and finale that acts as a button to the story more often. More films focus on the spectacle and even though it may be visually pleasing, it often just pads out the film without any of the visuals telling a story or even affecting it. This film didn't waste any of its time doing that, but the spectacle was informed by the plot and did affect the characters within it. What I truly loved about this film is that it kept that same since of wonder and darkness the first film started and it stayed in its lane. It connects to the soon to be rebooted DCEU, but it stands strong enough on it own to be a soft disconnect. The themes of growing up, responsibilities, acceptance and family were refreshing to see handled in such a skilled way. This film reminded me of the late 80's and mid 90's kid and teen films where they weren't afraid to address the humanity of the heroes. Growing up can be scary because you don't want to let go of the fun times where the world seemed so open and free before stepping into adulthood. This film tackles that subject through the eyes of the leads while still giving us a surprisingly fun family action film that has a horror edge to it.
Asher Angel and Zachary Levi return as Billy Batson / Shazam and they're still magnetic and fun. Billy now has to balance being a leader and teenager growing into an adult and that was great to see handled. Asher does this wonderfully and actual gets to shine in the more emotional segments. Zachary Levi takes on the majority of the weight this time as the adult version of Billy and through him, you see Billy's naivtey really become his weakness in so many ways. Zachary's comedic timing and joyful take on the character was spot on and he nails what its like to be a teen in an adult's body. Billy's journey from child to adult was hilarious and also heartfelt. Jack Dylan Grazer and Adam Brody couldn't be more of a perfect pair as the teen and adult version of Freddy Freeman. Jack truly steals the film with his amazing wit, charm and hilarious sarcasm. His energy is so infectious and I loved that he is the center of the story this time around. He truly delivers a show stopping performance and Adam Brody amplifies that as his adult persona. Adam shows the more cocky nature of Freddy when he's "super" which was so much fun. Grace Caroline Currey was wonderful and wise as Mary Bromfield. She is the oldest in the family and I loved seeing her embrace the real world while still having fun as a superhero. She is that reminder that we all have to grow up at some point and contribute to a household and the world in some way. Ross Butler and Ian Chen were fun yet again as the young version and the adult version of Eugene Choi. They both show off his intelligent and exploratory nature within their lair. D. J. Cotrona and Jovan Armand were fantastic yet again as Pedro Peña. The way he handles his coming out to the family was handled very well and builds to a moment of true acceptance and I loved that it was natural and not forced. Meagan Good and Faithe Herman were the heart of the film as the adult and child version of Darla Dudley. The innocence of the character was so much fun and beautifully showcased by both actresses. I couldn't get enough them together or even separately. Marta Milans and Cooper Andrews return as their foster parents Rosa and Victor Vásquez and they both get so many great moments to shine and really bring the family together in a touching scene.
The score by Christophe Beck was awesome and epic in all the right ways as the action in the film really ramps up. When the screen isn't filled with action, he nails the more emotional moments. Visually the film was stunning to look at and I loved that the colors popped. The creatures in the film were yet again another standout and ranged from terrifying to badass. Its been a long time since anyone has brought to life any of the iconic monsters of the Greek mythos and I loved every bit of their strong and sometimes violent nature. Where the film has problems is the last half of the film. It tends to feel bloated in the last 30 minutes as the same amount of destruction keeps happening that makes the film drag on. There are moments that could've trimmed or cut to tighten up the finale. Director David S. Sandberg directed the first film that was a fun Christmas themed family film that tackled some heavy themes and wasn't afraid to touch on the darkness of the villains. He continues that here and has made another fun family film that adults can enjoy as well. Even with the bloated third act, this was an action packed and hefty 2 hour epic that should not be missed. Do stick around for the 2 great credit scenes. I don't know where this franchise will go once the DCEU is rebooted, but I hope we see a payoff to the story crumbs leftover from these 2 scenes. Let me know what you thought of the film or my review in the comments below. Thanks for reading!

Hello, I don't know what it means to me to hear from you again after all this (you're a beacon of light of a world of darkness). Are you still open to discussing the Buffyverse by any chance? How do you think Angel S3 (and the Holtz arc) would have gone differently if Buffy had ended with The Gift in S5?
Awww thanks Nonnie! I've been around lol just life ya know? I have a new job that keeps me insanely busy but I am trying to have a more work/life balance.
I am always down to talk Buffy and Angel. They are my ride or die for life. I have to admit I am a little fuzzy on Angel. I only watched it once. You'd think I'd like it better than Buffy because he was my favorite character, but weirdly no.
I was 100% okay with Buffy ending after The Gift, and in retrospect, I think it would've been better if it did. That was such an EPIC hero's death. Hard to top it. Season 6 was abysmal. But then again S7 gave me a hopeful Bangel endgame and Buffy really did deserve to have a regular life. So I waffle back and forth for the last 20 years.
Holtz was all about Connor right? I hated the Connor storyline. I was super down with the whole baby thing when Darla died, but then Connor came back grown & the teenager from hell and I was just like "Ugh. Keep it."
I'm not sure how it would've gone differently, but I do know that even if Buffy had stayed dead I would never want Angel with anyone else.

So far the scrapped concepts for Billy Batson week have been
Day 3; Billy visiting the 3 Faces of Evil (Sin, Terror, and Wickedness) to keep them company as a courtesy and then cleaning up the memorial statues of the fallen Council, didn’t get to the part where Billy finds a statue of Ebenezer and Sinclair with his parents to make the point of the Rock as a place of mourning for all the wonders of the world lost (including a champions family)
Day 3; Billy, Freddy and Eugene trying to make their own other-world doorways like Darla did in the Shazam mini comics. Planned to have Billys other-world be reminiscent of the 40’s in a nostalgic way with his family, Freddy’s to be one seafaring adventure after the other with his brother, and Eugene’s would be the fluffy rule breaker of the Rule of Three where his is just the Gamelands where he’s the king. Overall lesson to accept reality over fantasy, no matter how tailor made it was made for yourself
Day 3; Billy exploring the Rock and being put off by its silence and lack of life inside or outside it, wondering outside of it onto its ledges to find the nebula of magic whirling around it and seeing a new side to the beauty of the world
Day 5; Superman POV of the JL:U episode with them in the Justice Lords universe while going through Arkham that holds a lot of lobotomized villians, inspired by my musings of “What if Billy opposed the Lords like he did the Regime at the end of Injustice?” and that led to the scene of Superman recognizing the kid sluggishly kicking a ball back and forth between himself and a fellow lobotomized Baby Dahl.
Day 6; Billy and Mary graduating
Day 6; Billy in his capacity as a reporter trying to avoid the terrifying idea of getting pulled into the Wayne/Bat family while at a party for a Wayne/Sivana merger with Magnificus
Day 7; A seemingly normal meet up of Super-Parents to have a less stressful outing with their kids interacting while they talk about raising sidekicks/partners in crime fighting/kids with powers only for Marvel to join the fray for the first time with a Baby Marvel on the hip
None of these are the ones I plan to post, just the other avenues I did have that probably aren’t getting finished after I typed anywhere between 100-1,000 words on em. The only unwritten scrapped idea is CeCe popping in from the 90th century by accident among other successors to other heroes mantels like Terry or Jon with only one of them speaking English that’s 7,000 years off the mark
#honestly might finish and post some of them independently#but these are the scraps for now#looking back I am just a fan of angst arent i?#man…#Billy doesn’t deserve what I do to him#shazam#billy batson#dc

Is it okay if you list all of the members of cool kiddies squad/little line and their personalities?
The Cool Kiddies squad/the little line! (The ones I could remember 😅 I think...)
Melaudile, is the plastic kiddie microphone that's loud and carefree! She'd love to talk a lot, but she can be a bit clingy to bots (or humans) that she takes interest in... Even to ignore her own safety
Loomine, the loomband that's way too attached to bright colors! She'd go as far as marking her "territory" with colorful rubber bands
Cacticutie, the youngest of the garden guardians/ greenhouse groove, he always had a hard time talking and socializing due to his... "Prickly" body... But he's nothing more than a sweet boy... But don't make him angry, he can pack a punch as he's also one of the strongest in his squad
Momoyaki, the takoyaki, she's always the late to meetings and always seen at some pot hot springs, can you blame her? She likes it later than sooner
Super Orbe, the superball, he loves to play hero, but he can be a bit... Naive and childish
Catch-a-pic, the kid camera, she always try and mimic Fomo, but that's not the worse part... She has imposter syndrome... Sure, the rest of the cool kiddie squad/little line are cool with it, but it's hard for her to be likable to older bots
Icizen, the cupcake, an actual hero... Acting as a regular cupcake, but if there's trouble, he's on his way to save that night!
Bubblespell, the bubble bottle, loves acting as a wizard and casting fake spells... Surely he would love Larping!
Crepe Carie, the crepe, she loves playing fairy! Which annoys most of the older bots
Silensile and Rutile, the conjoined headphones, they always love the nice kids music... On loop...
Snip Safe, kid safe scissors, he has a hard time trying to cut things other than paper... Which he also have a short temper
Meow meow lightie, the kitty night light, she loves to sing lullabies and always remind the cool kiddies squad when to stop before the mall opens
Bebe Cino, the babycino, she's always energetic and fast and boisterous! But meeting new bots make her feel nervous
Pani Kake, the pancake, she loves to decorate anything with whipped cream and berries! Which makes a huge mess...
Gimbi, the gimbap, he always talk in 80% Korean which makes a language barrier between everyone... He sad :,(
Mallow, the marshmallow, he has an evil mind going on.... He's planning something...
Kochi Mochi, the mochi, she's shy but super friendly and kind
Mami Pasta, the spaghetti, she's a mummy so she really wants to be into character and scare everyone!
Majathy, a lily of valley, she's apathetic towards everyone, who let her in?
Cell-annoy, the toy phone, she's... Self explanatory...
Cherrimit, wireless microphone, she's a popular idol to the botbots, her brother always makes sure she lived life to the fullest by covering for her... even idols need to have fun with bots their own age too!
Tenderglow and Everstar, the rechargeable lanterns, these bot scouts are going to be the greatest botbot scouts there ever is! Together!
Kompaoke, the compact karaoke machine, she's similar to Snorg, but the only difference is... Don't call her "cute" or "little"
Baburufurōto, a literal bubble, they're fragile and scared of the big scary world they live in
Spume Havoc, a bubble gun, they love to cover everything with slippery soap!
Sweetie Cavity, the baby tooth, she's always finding ways to offer unhealthy snacks to anyone...
Celsilli, the fun size chocolate bar, he always knows something is wrong with the temperature!
Belgicro, the mini waffle, he loves to be cute and dumb...
Marie Mountini, the swiss meringue, she acts like Darla Dimple...
Layerpop, a Cake pop, very... Ignorant on how mean the Sugar shocks are...
Kinocake, mushroom cupcake, he's loud as Toad!
Heidi, a baby mannequin head, she loves to play hide and seek!

Bernard doesn't make sense as a love interest and was a poor choice. His "history" with Tim was this:
So this write up will explain why Bernard ultimately fails as a love interest for Tim
A. There is no real good reason to have him paired with Tim. He only appeared in six issues and none of his interactions with Tim gave us insight into who Tim was as a character or lead to any meaningful developments. The whole 'he represents the War Games era of Tim in terms of uncertainity' or 'his civilian life before losing his dad' that was used by the author, is just untrue as we never see Tim seriously appreciate his friendship like he does with say Ives, or the people at Brentwood as something that keeps him grounded or as a distraction from the hero life/normaly he needs nor do his interactions with Tim show said uncertainty like the struggle of balancing the civilian/hero life that we saw his above friends do. All of his appearances are either comic relief or a springboard/exposition for more important developments such as Tim's relationship with Darla.
TLDR: Bernard doesn't make sense as a pairing, doesn't do anything for Tim as a character nor fulfill the purpose he was supposedly brought back for
I honestly think that had DC done it better, there would be way less hate over Tim being Bi.
Like, they had him come out and get a boyfriend in a single issue. No hints, nada.
Had they dropped hints at it throughout other issues and series, then it wouldn't have felt so sudden and random.
Then you have Bernard, who was also totally random. Don't get me wrong, I think Bernard and Tim are a really cute couple, but it was so sudden and random that it didn't feel right. This, too, should have been eased in, or they could have listened to the fans and either gave him Kon or get back with Stephanie.
Dc truly don't know how to write, nor listen to what their fans want in any way, shape, or form.
