The Little Sisters of Purification, space marine chapter from Roger Hamlin's scenario "Sunstroke" in Challenge #36, "GDW's Magazine of Futuristic Gaming," 1988, illustrated by Tim Bradstreet.

Early White Dwarf had run many articles about Traveller; here GDW returns the favor in their own magazine that was a successor to The Journal of the Traveller's Aid Society. This "refereed Warhammer: 40,000 scenario for a small unit of Space Marines and opponents" is just one example of the highly imaginative directions players were taking 40K in the Rogue Trader days. This one has a lot of backstory and suggested modeling to run it as written -- 15 space marines from a new chapter, 20 Jokaeros (one of whom actually is a vampire in disguise), and an ancient Slann base on an asteroid protected by forcefields inside a sun.

so apparently i narrowly escaped sunstroke yesterday

I HATE autobuses.

My bus didn't come so I lost my train.

I had waited 20 minutes under the midday sun for it and got a start of a heatstroke.

After I realized it wouldn't come I had to walk 40 minutes under the sun, which where I live gets even hotter in the afternoon, losing the first train.

I had to wait an hour for the next train, luckily the train station has shade, unluckily I already charged up on heat so I couldn't even stand.

I didn't sleep last night because I was working on the project for my exam of today, this added with the sunstroke made it so that when the second train came I didn't go inside because, even tho it was at the right time on the right track, it "looked weird".

I now have to wait ANOTHER hour for the next train.

So today has been a write off compared to yesterday! I ended up getting pretty bad sun burn after yesterday which has left me sore and wiped out! Having used good old Google MD, it seems like I got some symptoms of sunstroke 😅🥵🥵 So most of today I've been hibernating inside and creaming my skin!

Not the best use of my time when I've got a tonne of slate to shovel and place + I need to clean and tidy up my home for my nieces visit and sleepover tomorrow but hey ho! Listening to my body and my mind is more important and resting is part of that 🩵
