Since this was the first volume, I tried out a few different drawings and had the editor and designer choose which ones they wanted, then made small adjustments. I personally liked the top-down draft, and the one of the cooking processes (back cover) the best. But looking back, I sincerely think it's good that we didn't go with those. (Kui)

I thought it might be cool to make the character Chilchuck darker in the foreground, and the background brighter! But it didn't quite work out the way I had imagined. I think it could have been a bit better. (Kui)

I remember that the overall shape of volume 4 came together very quickly. The character Senshi's hands didn't fit nicely, so I moved them backwards and to the side. (Kui)

I thought people might start to think "how many have I bought?" so I wanted to create a slightly different impression with this volume. I decided to put the character right in the center and try putting it together all in blue and green hues. (Kui)

With this in mind, I thought of how many volumes were left to go, and the number of characters, and decided to pair up the characters Namari and Shuroiro. The image is of focus lines converging on the character Izutsumi. This is the kind of cover, with upside down characters, which I've always wanted to try once(?) I submitted it as a trial, thinking that at this point the cover wouldn't dramatically influence sales. However, in the end, we decided it would be better not to have it upside down. (Kui)

I tried blurring the mushrooms in the foreground, then I accidentally saved over it, and couldn't go back to the original. I remember apologizing that it was probably tacky, when I submitted it. (Kui)

I don't think snake meat is marbled at all, but if it has an unfamiliar look, people might not recognize it as meat… so I made it look like beef to make it easier to understand. (Kui)

I thought it might be interesting to have more than one of the main characters on the cover again, so I added the character Falin. I remember it wasn't badly received, but it still ended up just being Thistle on his own. (Kui)

I wanted this cover to be covered in shiny gold. After I finished it, it didn't have enough color, so I painted the tablecloth green, and it ended up looking like Christmas colors. (Kui)

Up to this point, the covers have featured one of the main characters holding cooking utensils in the foreground and a monster in the background, but I thought it might be interesting to reverse the format just before the final volume, so I drew this cover with that in mind. (Kui)

I had decided that the final cover definitely needed to have everyone eating together on it, but because I was publishing two books at the same time I was pressed for time, and it was difficult to have a cover with so many characters on it. I also submitted a rough for an illustration that didn't need me to draw any crowds, but such obviously easy ideas are never adopted. (Kui)

IT STARTED WITH THE CAT DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM

In which• The Deliverer of Amphoreus is suddenly transported to your home as a cat.

You returned home late that day. There was an unexpected group work that needs to be submitted by tomorrow morning. So instead of going home by 3pm, you’ve returned home around 8.

Fortunately, you’ve left Blue and Princess enough food and water that’ll last them the whole day.

When you opened the door, you got yourself quite a scare when you almost stepped on an orange fur rag you remembered not having. What you do remember having instead however, is an orange pomeranian.

“Oh my god! Princess!” You exclaimed. “Did I hurt you? Oh gosh, I’m so sorry.” You hurriedly picked him up, inspecting him closely.

When you saw no signs of injury, you quickly gave him few head pats and cooed at him, totally forgetting about your bag you randomly thrown near the door due to sheer panic.

Princess and Blue are much important than that bag to be honest. You’ll just picked it up later or something. First things first is to check on your 2 babies.

Holding Princess securely on your arms, you proceed to walk inside to find your other fluffy roomie.

“Blue?” You called out. “I’m home Blue! Where are you?”

When you felt Princess started to squirm in your arms, you gently lowered him down. He let out few high pitched bark and stuttered few steps forward, as if urging you to follow him.

“You know where he is, Princess?” You asked, curiously. Princess barked in reply.

“You can understand me too, hm?” You laughed. “Well aren’t you smart? Then please do lead the way Your Highness.”

You followed Princess and found Blue pacing back and forth like some kind of stressed mother near your couch.

Upon seeing you trailing behind Princess, he gracefully strutted and rubbed your legs. You heard his sharp meows and hiss but never did he tried to bite your foot.

He must’ve been worried this entire time, you thought correct. If only you can understand his meows, it was full blown combination of both concern and nagging.

Mydei, however could understand. It was chaotic and amusing for him to hear the Mr. Blue Balls the Deliverer get worked up like this.

“Snuggle Gremlin! It’s late, do you know what time is it? *nag nag nag*”

Hmm. That name isn’t that bad. You know what, Mydei shall call you that from now on. He must get back at you for his name somehow.

“Yes, yes.” You soothes Blue who sounded really worked up. “Let’s save that for later ok? I’ll make it up with you after I eat dinner. Promise.”

You picked up Blue who started to melt with your pats. His ears must’ve been really that sensitive, you mused.

Although this situation was supposedly impossible and alarming, Mydei couldn’t lie that somehow this doesn’t feel bad. Oddly enough, just like the deliverer, he felt oddly calm and genuinely happy even thought he just had been here a little to no more than a day.

You saw Princess sat next to your feet. If you remembered correctly, you haven’t given him a bath yet, no? Since he’s going to stay here with you, a proper bath is a must before he is allowed to sleep at the bed with you.

“As for you my little Princess,” you said. “We’ll take a bath together later.”

…What? Did you just-

Mydei quickly snapped his tiny little head towards Phainon, hoping that he must’ve just misheard it somehow. Must have been the wind™️

“Good luck Mydei.” He saw his mouth moved. “May Nikador bless you in this battle.”

“…”

You know what– he takes back everything he just said!

You can’t just do this to him! He may have turned into a dog but he wants to keep his chastity and innocence so don’t you dare put your hands on him!!

So... Pokémon has officially revealed the Top 300 quarter-finalists for the TCG illustration contest. I myself have participated, but unfortunately, did not make it. There were many awesome artworks!!

However... there has been a suspected case of an individual who entered with multiple identities (similar initials) through AI generated entries - V.K shows up in 6 entries. The weird and unnatural proportions, position, angle (look at vaporeon for instance) all give away indications of AI too.

The rules have clearly outlined multiple identities to lead to disqualification, yet the judges failed to take account into the suspicious number of similar styles appearing more than three times (surprassing the maximum number of 3 entries) with the initials.

"The rules in the contest affirmed that: submissions must be submitted by the Entrant. Any attempt, successful or otherwise, by any Entrant to obtain more than the permitted number of Submissions by using multiple and/or different identities, forms, registrations, addresses, or any other method will void all of that Entrant's Submissions and that Entrant may be disqualified at Sponsors' reasonable discretion."

This is very disappointing, Pokemon TCG. Not even just disappointing, this is very shameful and distasteful to artists who did not make it.

Edit: There also seems to be 2 more entries that are ai prompts but under a different name (pikachu sleeping with a background night landscape and another one sleeping on a tree root)

UPDATE: on Twitter pokemon tcg actually addressed the issue, has disqualified the person with multiple identities and will be selecting more entries from other artists!!

Our team is now focused on finalizing the layout for the zine. We can’t wait to share it with all of you! 

We plan to release the zine in digital format June 10, 2025.

Access to the digital zine will require proof of charitable donation. To make it easy for a fandom with folks hailing from all different places, you will be able to choose a charity or non-profit organization that works for you and your geographic location. Minimum recommended donation is $5 USD, but proof of any donation will be accepted.

We do recommend looking for organizations that have a link to the characters we are celebrating with the zine such as theater and film organizations that focus on emerging or marginalized artists, Asian/Pacific Islander charities, Parkinson’s charities or organizations that support survivors of CSA/SA.

UPDATES on QL Series which won the support grant funding from THACCA - Thailand's Agency for promoting Soft Power

1. KNOCK OUT หมัดน็อกล็อกหัวใจ (produced by Dee Hup House)

Synopsis: Keen was in the middle of a job interview when he received sudden news of his father's death. He had no choice but to use all his life savings to organize the funeral. I went and looked into the official grant criteria, and the distinction you made here is correct, except that the network and independent categories are entirely separate from the BL/GL group. Of the lakorn/series categories, they had 30 million baht earmarked for at least 3 TV network projects, another 30 milion for at least 5 independent studios, 3 million for at least 2 children's shows (which was redistributed as no one submitted a project), and 32 million baht for BL/GL, which was further divided into two subcategories: 20 million baht for at least 4 BL/GL productions (at least 8 episodes of at least 30 minutes, with a total budget of at least 6 million baht), and 12 million baht for at least 3 BL/GL newcomer productions (at least 6 episodes of at least 20 minutes, with a total budget of at least 4 million baht). Applicants are required to have previously produced a BL/GL or participated in a BL/GL production (respectively for each subcategory, presumably).

Oh, and the grant statement says for projects to be considered, they need to (1) promote works that show variety and internationally competitive quality, OR (2) promote generation of employment and revenue for the industry, OR (3) showcase cultural worth and reflect and publicize the Thai identity to the international stage.

[THACCA] did say they received 894 submissions in total, with 88 final recipients. I do think the selection committee would be more partial to stuff more likely to sell internationally, though.

The announcement mentions a working window of April - 9 September... [Although] they aren't required to finish production by 9 September, but they have to submit a production plan with at least three days of principal photography having been completed

Ingrid Bergman:

God, she's fantastic. She's both beautiful and a compelling actor who's more than capable of putting the whole movie on her shoulders if necessary. It's worth noting that while her beauty is conventional, she was seen as refreshingly "natural" with more eyebrows and less makeup than many other leading ladies of the time. She's well known for her role in Casablanca, but in Notorious, Spellbound, (both available on archive.org ) and Gaslight (1944) she shows how immensely capable she is.

I mean...she's Ingrid Bergman. I feel like that should be enough, you know? She's physically beautiful (her eyes!) but watching her is like a transcendent experience. Her voice, her expressions... beautiful woman, beautiful actor.

Choosing 1-3 movies where Bergman was at her hottest was agony because, of course, she was always at her hottest. Not just because she was beautiful but because she was absolutely willing to go up against the bs women in Hollywood were constantly dealing with. When exiled from Hollywood for having an affair with Roberto Rossellini, not only did she refuse to apologize at any point, but she went on to say that Hollywood's films had grown stagnant and boring to her. Though she said she appreciated her time working there, she wanted to try new, different techniques (hence starring in Italian neorealist films, working on stage, and acting under directors like Ingmar Bergman). She was not afraid to chase after her artistic ideals and go outside the box regardless of what society had to say about it. From her first movie to her last she killed it. There's so much more to say about Bergman's career and life, but I've already written five million words so I'll stop at that.

One of the most incredible actors I've ever seen on film. Her facial expressions are so intricate and poignant that I cannot look away. I'm either ace or straight, but damn she made me question that.

Where do I even begin with Ingrid Bergman? She's never missed in any role I've seen her in! Also she became quite the MILF.
