this book and movie is so so close to my heart <3

while I love a good fancast of the characters in the house in the cerulean sea as much as the next guy, I worry about live action adaptations being able to truly capture the warm sense of magic, love, found family, and whimsy of the book.

which is why the only people I would trust with an adaptation of the house in the cerulean sea is studio ghibli

I think it's always fascinating to revisit an older artwork and see how you'd draw it now. The one on the left, I drew in 2022, and the one on the right, this year. It's not even about whether I "improved" or not, and more about how much my approach and style changed. I think it's a great way to learn about yourself and understand how you are developing as an artist.
