Hey!

After hearing about Hayao Miyazaki’s stance on AI today, it oddly enough inspired me. I have seen many ai generations using the Studio Ghibli art style, many of them being one piece generations. While the idea of one piece being in the Ghibli style is a cool idea, it disturbed me how people resorted to using AI. Sparked from my disappointment and Miyazaki’s outspoken opinion against AI “art” I felt the need to draw Luffy in the Ghibli style myself!

Yeah it’s not perfect, but tbh, I think I did a pretty fine job duplicating the style. Let me know what y’all think. I’d love to hear your feedback. And if you’d like to see more stuff like this, who knows maybe I’ll make it a series of drawing anime characters in the Ghibli style. I’d love to do this more.

A study I did on Nausicaa and Kai from the Manga.

l'm rereading "Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind".

Through doing this study I realized just how brilliant Miyazaki actually is. I know, it's obvious, but my good the detail and craft!

You can feel the energy and how important expression and movement are. Ugh. I'm absolutely floored again by these books.

I recently tried to recreate the arts type of Hayao Miyazaki/ Studio Ghibli for perfectly normal and definitely not at all topical, reasons. Just because I enjoy the passion and craftsmanship of fellow human artists. Is it a perfect replica of Miyazaki’s style? No, but at least I actually tried.
