i really should leave time between art posts for them to breathe and accumulate their fair share of notes, but also i need something to do while im waiting for my onions to caramelize.

In this installment: Five and Viktor meet over breakfast to discuss business, Luther is a Concerned Citizen, Diego and Patch also meet over breakfast to discuss business but in the background, and Grace is NOT a robot and this diner is NOT fully automated no sir. Also as usual Ben's face provides some ambiance, thank you Ben.

Can't believe this show just said that yeah these broken children that have finally managed to claw some semblance of family out of the train wreck their psychotic father made of them, these children now adults, don't get peace, they don't deserve it. actually the world is so much better without them in it. They are the direct reason why so many people they have met are not living happier lives and the universe would be a much happier safer place with them gone. They were pawns in their father's game and now they are victims of their "mother's" scheme. And this is all they get, there was never any happy ending for them in the cards the universe rebukes their very existence and it is constantly trying to write them out of it.

They doomed the world from the start, the blame is all at their feet and they must pay for the crime of being born "special".

ive been doing an anatomy study lately to try and actually improve at art and it’s been boring but using tua screengrabs as references has made it much more fun and i’m pretty happy with how the page turned out even if it’s pretty rough so im dropping it here :)

season 3 has the most rewatch quality for me even tho i think story wise season 1 is much better. season 2 was good and i really loved all the characters and development we got but (and this is based off my rewatch from last year bc i only jumped in at season 4 this time) it fell flat for me. though i would definitely watch again i would probably gravitate more towards season three on a casual watch and not a binge.

Me, thinking about how, ultimately, The Umbrella Academy was basically just a weirder/wackier less cohesive version of Dark, but how the ending in Dark feels like such a triumph and a relief, while the ending in TUA just feels depressing.

tua3 was so tough. within the year it after it came out -- june 22 2022 - june 22 2023 -- just 2,679 works under the fandom tag were updated on AO3. that may seem like a decent chunk, but compare this to the relatively even distribution between july 31 2020 - july 21 2021 (the year after season 2 came out), where 5,326 were updated, and february 15, 2019 - february 15, 2020 (the year after season one), where there were 5,637. tua used to have one of the most vibrant, collaborative, active fandoms i've ever had the pleasure to be in, and the sheer mediocrity of season 3 seemed to just take a wrecking ball to that community pretty much overnight. literally cut its fanfiction output in half. still makes me sad.

it really does suck knowing that s4 is absolutely rock bottom dogshit because I’ve truly loved this show so much. I was there from the first trailer and watched every season as soon as it came out, and I can’t even bring myself to watch beyond episode one of season four. and there was a noticeable decline each season, with season three being the only one I didn’t rewatch, and now we have this. and yeah shows can end badly but like. it almost feels like blackman and the writers mocking the fans. just putting in no effort at all. they’ve made me embarrassed to have loved this show so much. season one is still incredible, so there’s that, but like. idk I just feel humiliated. it’s not that I think they set out with the mindset of “let’s fuck over our fans” I think they just didn’t care at all, like d&d with the end of game of thrones

In the darkness, Five could make out a woman’s melodic voice.

He attempted to open his eyes, but the world was still spinning. Even trapped behind his eyelids, he could feel the swirling vortex around him threatening to drag him back under.

It felt like water running down the drain.

Isn’t that a Tom Petty song?

He could feel the corners of his lips pull up, amusement tickling his senses.

He could just make out movement above him. Or was that the elevator? He was on an elevator, wasn’t he? He scrunched up his face trying to focus but found the spinning to be far too great. He couldn’t seem to feel anything else besides the strange rotation. Maybe he could feel the earth move under him?

Wait, that’s a song too. Carol King. How did it go?

A cool hand brushed aside the hair that had fallen across his forehead. He found himself smiling as he leaned into it. It felt wonderful against his heated skin.

“How on earth did you end up passed out in the lift of all places, old man?”

Who is that?

He tried to place the voice. It was female, he knew that much; It wasn’t Delores’s accent. She’d had the lilting musical syllables typical for Italians. No, this was something else. British maybe? It was definitely familiar. It both delighted and annoyed him.

Five could feel himself smirk.

He could think of only one person in the entire universe that fit the bill.

“Lila?” he murmured, trying his best to open his eyes against the centrifugal force.

He could hear her hum in acknowledgment. “It was so worth ditching Diego to find you here!” she sniggered.

“You ditched him?” Five questioned, giving her a lopsided grin, his eyes still shut.

“Yup!” she popped the ‘p’ at the end. “I dared him to do shots with me Squid-boy and he passed out! I think he’s under one of the tables!”

She burped inelegantly, seemingly surprising herself into a fit of giggles. Five pried his eyes open enough to see her lift a hand to cover her mouth and begin to chuckle once again. “You look a mess, old man!” she declared from behind her delicate fingers.

God, she is the most beautiful real woman I’ve ever seen. 

He forced his eyes open, despite the way the light seemed to stab at his vision, just so he could bring more of her into his field of vision.

“Me? What about you?” he snorted.

“I am—” she paused to hiccup, “—perfectly fine—sober as a judge!”

Both launched into peals of laughter, tears running down their cheeks.

Five squeezed his eyes shut once more, rubbing at them.

“Oi, you okay there, Five?”

Lila sounded closer than before.

Five opened his eyes only to find dark brown eyes crinkled in amusement and lined with kohl swimming into view.

She was very close he realized, kneeling on the ground so that she was level with him. Their knees were interlocked, her legs partially spread, and for a brief moment, Five considered lowering his eyes to see if he could catch a glimpse between her thighs.

I wonder if she’d even wearing any underwear.

For some reason, the thought caused a slightly manic giggle to bubble up out of his throat.

God, what the fuck am I thinking? Of course, she isn’t! He mentally tittered.

Oooh I did say i had the urge to make an umbrella academy au for this group of losers. So here we are! The group has the powers while Sebastian is just a regular dude, he's just the older brother and helps this group by guiding them and giving them that parental advice they desperately need.

But let me talk you through their powers!

Ryan Seacrest, he has both umbrakinesis and photokinesis, he needs to find a balance with these powers or else he can drive the world into eternal darkness or eternal daylight.

Bo Cadieux, they have the ability to heal each and every wound on their body within seconds, they can also heal other peoples wounds. However this comes with the side affect that they literally take the wound from the person and get it inflicted on their own body instead.

Keira Jones, she has the ability to control the weather, it can be a bit tricky when her emotions are intertwined with it, she tries her best to stay calm so she doesn't accidentally cause a storm or a tornado to rip through the city. She's learning alot about herself with this ability, her autism isn't helping either.

Brooke Atkinson, her ability is basically a sonic scream alongside temporary flight, the result of this is the nickname Banshee. She doesn't necessarily like it, but she isn't gonna complain about it. She talks a bit more quiet because of it, she doesn't want to accidentally hurt someone or destroy a building with her voice.

Kai Williams, his power is Shape-shifting, he's not only able to shape shift into other people but also into animals. He's tricky to pin down when he's really trying to avoid being seen or discovered, but he doesn't tend to use his power as much, he likes himself just fine.

Elysia Sinclair, she has the ability to create portals to any place in the world she wants, this can be useful for travel but also to get away from situations she really doesn't want to be in at the moment. They do require her to concentrate, so in stressful situations it's tricky.

Sebastian Atkinson, he's the older brother of Brooke, an ex soldier who now spends his time as a bartender. He still takes care of the group and always has his door open for them should they need anything or just simply need to crash on the couch. He'll never turn them away.

I just learned that cellphones don’t actually exist in the tua universe because the original comics took place in the 80s and here I was thinking the creators just wanted to take miscommunications to a whole other level.
