The 'accidental' shot of Doflamingo didn't kill Rosinate on the spot. So when they brought Rosinate to the manor, he was barely alive. Law was desperate, but it is that desperation that makes you stoic. She stayed at Rosinate's beside night and day, and she tried to tend to his wound at the best of her ability.

"The doctor is on his way," she whispered at him. This reminded her of a few years ago when she was the one on the verge of death. She refused to leave his side for 4 days. Luffy took care of her while she took care of Rosinate. Then, one night, Rosinate grabbed Law's hand, smiled, between coughing, and said, "I love you, Law. I'll die smiling, so if you think of me in the future, you'll remember me smiling. " And then Rosinate passed away between Law histerical crying.

Luffy entered the room, worried, and he saw Law tending to his father death body. She turned toward him and said, "He needs to pay for this"
