MONTHLY MFIP UPDATE✨✨

Hey folks 🦐 I finally got the chance to make this month’s MFIP Update cuz god damn life was kicking my ass. College is fine for the most part tbh, just a lot of reading and writing cuz of the specific classes I chose. HOWEVER I have 💥FUCKING PMDD💥 so um skill issue on my part but it’s why I’ve been kinda exhausted as shit this week and was late with the update so my bad folks! (Also for more info on PMDD, click here! I don’t wanna spend this post yapping about it but wanted to leave a resource to spread awareness just in case :3). Also, Imma be tagging some of y'all who have been reading/supporting MFIP consistently just for this post, so yk you guys actually know these updates exist. I was gonna do that for the first ever update but as with many things, I forgor, so I'm doing it now! They’re supposed to come out on the 18th of every month, but yk sometimes life happens and I’m a lil late. It won’t be any earlier than the 18th tho so look out for these once it hits that date! Anywho, cheers to this month’s update!

Alrighty folks we be starting with the Art~!

Alrighty so obvious new thing, WE GOT RAPH’S REF SHEEEEEEEET TEEHEEEEEEE

BRO IM SO HYPE ABOUT IT! It turned out so genuinely amazing and I’m ridiculously proud of it! Especially cuz I honestly thought Raph was gonna be a harder design to figure out yk? I’m not used to drawing his body type, I wasn’t as familiar with his outfit, and even tho I’ve sketched him a few times before, I was just a bit nervous with Raph. Funfact, he’s also been the hardest to figure out how to write back when I was first starting MFIP. I genuinely don’t know why, but I got there eventually (I actually really love writing him now—) and same thing happened with his design!

Since MFIP’s taking place a few months after the Krang invasion, i’m able to take creative liberties and update the boys’ designs more! For some clarification btw, in my story’s lore, the invasion took place in September 2020, and MFIP starts on March 2021. Anywhizzle, my ideas for the boys’ designs is to combine their movie look with their show look, cuz while I do LOVE the black on them, it doesn’t feel right to me to not make them still unique in their own ways. These guys are all about authenticity, so why make their gear exactly the same, ya get me? I basically recolored his show gear to be black and red (and added a lil asymmetry on his legs) cuz I think it makes Raph feel older and more sure about himself, just feels right for him! I also just think the red fade on the black is hella cool! Fun lil color theory i think application, the black is more of a really dark, inky blue, so it makes the red pop out even more! I decided to make a bow out of his mask tails, too! I don’t wanna spoil the entire lore reasoning for it yet (it’ll pop up in the story), but I can indeed say it’s intentional that it looks a little like a lunamoth with damaged tails :3 I also took a BUNCH of creative liberties with his sais’ handles, since we haven’t really seen it much so like idk gaslight yourselves into thinking it’s always been this epic✨✨

Also I gave him his shorts back because FUCK YOU I LIKED THE RED TRIMMMM—

OH I ALMOST FORGOT yes he has longer eyelashes! I saw he grows to have really pretty eyelashes in the future cuz of his turtle species, and I wanted to lean into that by showing they’re starting to grow now :3

Bullshit Gag Because Yes‼️‼️

There ain’t shit to say about this, I just pulled a silly. I saw the fact Donnie was supposed to have a “Doctor Donatello” persona in the deleted episode where Dale turns into a werewolf. I’m really heavily on the train of Leo being the team medic and into medicine in general. I don’t think it makes sense for Donnie to be the medic judging by his sensory issues and this mf being as much of a germaphobe as my mom, and in my opinion it felt too stereotypical anyway to have Donnie be the medic. Ofc, to each their own, and this is just my interpretation of it, but I thought it’d be funny if Donnie still had this persona and was passionate about it, but was like horrifically bad at being a doctor. I made this dumbass sketch that I’ll finish sometime in the future (it’s gonna be a chapter in Arc 3 probably) and I just wanted to share it with yall~

My ass wanted to show off cuz I’m sketching out some ideas of what my human designs for the boys culd be. I already did Leo’s like ages ago so he’s not on here but I’m realizing as I’m typing this my dumbass forgor to post it so um my bad I will do that in a few days—

But I wanted to design (or more accurately, redesign cuz I did draw em once a while back but I’m not satisfied with them) and I think I ate so far so uh yea. There isn’t any logic to sharing this, I just thought it was cool😭

I'll talk about them more another time when I have all of them on here~

Chapter Progress Time Whoop Whoooop‼️‼️

I didn’t make much progress on anything this month due to college—again, it’s fine, but there’s a shit ton of time management going on in my part to just manage everything and make sure I’m on track—BUT I am indeed still working on chapter 10. We’re up to 20 pages now which is only two more pages written from last month, but it’s kinda cool writing Donnie and I feel like I’m getting a better understanding of him! One thing I’ve been tryna do is understand autism better as a condition cuz I do wanna acknowledge and show bro’s autism instead of just ignoring it due to a lack of understanding. Donnie ain’t Donnie without it, ya know? I don’t know everything and tbh I would say I still have A LOT to learn on the subject matter, but I’m tryna expand my knowledge every opportunity I get and experimenting with how to better show it! This is to say tho, I’M NOT A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL, NOR AN EXPERT ON THE AUTISM SPECTRUM. This is what I’m finding and comprehending via my own research, and can tbh end up being wrong so please don’t quote me as a reliable source, I’m still learning ;v;

I remember one of the things I kept hearing about was autism leading people to struggle with empathy. The best way I heard it being described was someone bringing the example of when their friend was upset. That person can’t truly feel their friend’s emotions because they’re not the one experiencing it, so can’t properly understand how it’s making their friend feel. But they can see that their friend is communicating their sadness, and they still try to comfort them and make sure their friend knows they’re there for support. I understood it as bringing logic to emotions in a sense; collecting data and figuring out how to handle the situation based on the data rather than using intuition alone.

I’ve been using that to figure out how Donnie might handle more emotionally subtle situations, where he might try to rationally work through what’s happening and kinda substitute it in place of natural empathy. Like the little tidbit I gave above! Instead of just automatically being able to get vibes that the other person is upset, I felt maybe Donnie would instead notice the fact their tone is kinda different from before; it’s basically a data point. With that data point in mind, he could connect it to past experiences where a tone change could indicate a mood change, and as a result he might conclude that Salena’s tone change means she’s upset. I comprehend it as manually working through empathy rather than it being second nature, if that makes sense. Obviously and thankfully Donnie isn’t gonna spend the entire chapter playing a guessing game or anything with Salena’s emotions, it’s just one lil moment that I thought was cool challenge to myself with when writing him! I really love putting myself in the characters’ shoes when I’m writing them or their dialogue. I highly recommend it as a tool too, since it's helped me a lot with staying in character!

Aight so, I wanted to try doing something cool if y'all are up for it. I really love rambling about my story and lore and characters blah blah blah, but I don't really know how to do so tbh. I'm not that familiar with how social medias work cuz I just never took it seriously, and I don't wanna just keep being like HEYYYYY ASK BOX IS OPENNNNN like I'm screaming from the top of the hill either. Sooooo insteaddddd

I think it'd be fun to do Q&As here! Or at least something similar. I'll open my ask box again and feel free to send any questions you want; it can be about the story, past lore, design questions, getting to know the characters, absolutely anything! Then when I'm gonna do my update for the month, I'll compile all y'all's asks, (prolly will have to tag to make sure you guys know I answered it, or if you ask anon then uh idk look out for the monthly update) and then answer them during the monthly update as the last section! I think it'll be a cool way to make this feel more interactive, and gives me an excuse to ramble. Don't be afraid to ask potentially spoilery questions either! this fic is the most recent one on this list that i read and oh my god, it made me actually cry. real tears, yo. in the span of 1.5k words, artem wing was gently pried open and told the exact kindness he NEEDS to hear and also will have the MOST trouble believing. the prose here is so like, beautifully simple, just an everyday conversation that can happen to any of us. but then there are lines of dialog that happen that artem is never gonna forget.

and also im never gonna forget a very specific line here. it's been etched into my BRAIN. i wont spoil it tho, GO READ THIS! ESP IF UR AN ARTEM ENJOYER!!!

yo, i think quarterweeb is a master of outsider pov by this point. this is another one of her fics and it's SO DELIGHTFUL!! LITTLE KID POV and thru this pov the fic takes us thru this like, rlly sincere snapshot of who marius is when hes connected over something he loves: art. thru just the interaction in here, a very clear understanding of marius shines thru even if the fic isnt going too "deep" so to speak.

all in all, this is funny and very earnest read!!

who says character studies have to be "serious" all the time? not sam cuz this fic is a frigging HOOT. showcases an artem wing that, under what many think is a wooden sign that says No Fun Allowed, is a person who actually is Very Fun Allowed (Because Of Spite). sam is super great at taking what you "expect" a character to do and then turning that on its head in a way that still completely fits, and that specialty is v much highlighted here!

in this fic, you'll get a laugh and also maybe a cry if ur a repressed bastard like me who really kins luke, HAHA. deffo give this a read if u want to feel an ache in ur heart but then like, a hug after that.

man mAAANNNNN!!! this fic is such a huge fave of mine!!! the artem wing we know and love ends up in a universe where things r the same but Not Really. that in itself had me hooked but then galena goes the extra mile by using this fantastic premise as a way to make artem realize and confront his flaws and fears. that + some rlly cool plot + SO MUCH FOUND FAMILY FEEEELLLSSSSS //SOBS. artem's pov here is exquisite, it's got this solid/strict vibe in how he handles himself but also this like, looping and almost endless questioning of his faults as a person, IT'S SO GREAT TO READ!!!

nothing brings a team together than fighting a giant evil plant that vyn supposedly ordered!!! vyn, what the HELL?? but srsly, this fic is wonderful and i love it to bits. galena back at it again with a wonderfully absurd premise and then uses that premise to dissect character and this fic's victim is Luke Pearce. take it from me, self diagnosed luke pearce enthusiast, that this fic is incredible. be it through little quirks luke does with his phone contacts or how he strategizes a battle plan or the thoughts only us readers are privy to in his internal monolog, this fic delivers a LOVELY interpretation of who luke is. all the while telling a very entertaining and well paced story.

HMMMMMMMM how do I do that indeed, the basics are honestly what you’d find on any basic tutorial about drawing a face (circle, cross in the middle of it, build the face around that - I really still can’t avoid that step and probably never will). As for the expressions, to be honest with you my way of going about them is thinking them up in emoji/kaomoji form first and then go from there. Emojis and kaomojis have to simplify expressions to the max since it’s such a simple format, right? But they’re still super expressive and convey exactly what they’re trying to say with one single glance, so using them as some kind of reference sheet has helped me a lot in figuring out what’s essential to express what I’m trying to say - still working on it though! I’m rarely satisfied with my expressions, they really do make or break a drawing don’t they............ you never stop learning, I guess!

DESCRIPTION AHEAD: My MBTI is ENFP-T, sign is Sagittarius, enneagram 7w8 and a Hufflepuff (tbh i’m a Huffledor, cuz I got Hufflepuff 43% and Gryffindor 42%). I’m an only child (04 liner). I’m the youngest, silliest and weirdest in my group of friends, I can be friendly or very shy at first, it depends on my mood. Love spending some time alone and thinking by myself, I’m very competitive, love perfumes and fashion, animal lover, midnight person, traditional romantic, very curious, like romance and horror movies, fav season is spring and fav color is purple.

I LOVE playing video games since I was around 4 or 5 years old. Also LOVE stars, moon, galaxy and everything about the universe (and prefer sunset over sunrise). I’ve always been one of the smartest at my school, even tho I hate to study, it just seems natural. I also can speak 3 different languages.

I’m very honest, kind, active/athletic, a bit sarcastic, bubbly, dirty minded, sincere, open-minded, loyal, very hardworking and love eating sweet things. (also rice, please, it’s just so good).

- I can do a lot of things related to arts. Such as crafting, drawing, acting, singing, dancing, designing or painting. It’s just ask for :)

- I can say that I’m really comfortable with crowds and not afraid to stay in front of everyone. I also feel very confident while on the stage, but very shy when people come to compliment me later and don’t know how to act.

I took both contemporary and street dance classes at the age of 10 (2015), as well drama classes. In the same year I also took a lot of different small classes, such as craft arts, drawing, accessories with beads, modeling clay and a few more, so I basically can craft anything on the artsy side (I even used to sell some of them when I was younger) I even have a tie-dye T-shirt made entirely by me :)) In 2017 I took singing lessons and was a member of a choir.

I have some experiences with being the lead actress for 3 plays at school for around 300 people, dancing in group and being part of a choir.

For relationship stuff, my ideal boy would be someone between 175cm-180cm, older than me but max 9 years age gap, I think more perhaps would be too much. An understanding boy, who knows how to respect privacy, romantic, honest and open-minded! These are like the basics.

Since I believe in destiny and kinda still have to sleep with a plushie, I'd feel more than grateful if he is okay with it :)

When you take too long Jin comes to check on you. Finding you laying some of your things out because you got nostalgic.

"Oh I'm sorry. Did I take long?" You ask.

"It's fine how else would I sneak into your bedroom." He jokes.

"I mean I could have let you in."

"What about letting me in your bed." He says eyebrows raised. He looks hilarious.

"I'm sorry bed rights belong only to my favourite pillow RJ."

"Are you choosing a sheep pillow over me."

"No he's an alpaca."

"I'm not to be blamed for my actions." He says solemnly and proceeds to tickle you.

Soon your laughing uncontrolled, even getting back at him. Somehow you end up on top of him his arms wrapping you in a hug.

Your mother's voice startles you as she calls out from the stairs.

You give Jin a quick peck as you get up. While you're sad that you have to get away from that warm hug Jin on your bed sends flutters to your heart. You shake your head focusing on going back to see what your mom wants.

But don't you worry a few years from now you'll be married to the love of your life and share warm hugs and warm food and not have to worry about your mom .... or your dad.

2020 Creator Wrap: Favourite Works

1. The yi/zhan timeline in my pinned post is something I am proud of. The rest of my blog is actually rather self-indulgent but with that post, I just hope it makes more people see and support what ggdd have. There’s still some stuff that’s missing but, ehem, I’ll get to that eventually xD

2. V and Jk at the Golden Disk Awards — I barely gif those two angels anymore but I still very much love them. Now that there’s an 8mb gif limit, I could actually add so many more frames to each gif there but I have no idea how I colored that. I still like the coloring.

3. simple and clear — I watched that interview and that particular answer for the first time and immediately thought of his love for gg and somehow, I actually bothered to make it into a gifset. I’m glad I did that.

4. Yibo for L’Officiel — I remember playing around with the lighting layers in that one, trying something new. For some reason, I never tried it again, tho. But I still like how it turned out there.

5. Zhan-ge in his sina interview — this took me 84 years to gif, not because of the number of frames but cuz I was so damn happy to see him again, I kept getting emotional. That was the first time he attended an event since January and the second interview he had since then.

6. Wei Ying in episode 43 — I’ve been giffing so much more in the last one and a half year than I did in the four years before that, mainly cql and ggdd. And I have slowly gotten better at coloring gifs to my liking. A lot of scenes in cql look very blue and me, I like warm colors so getting rid of the blue has been a challenge that made me improve, I think. The coloring in that scene is one of the better examples.

(05/19/2021) Lil update for yall 👌

Im still working on ch 1 pt 1 of my Foster Kids AU. Hopefully it'll be out by early summer (schools been keeping me busy, my last day of school isnt until june tho lmao)

Also Im still working on the Chalkboard Bungle Reanimated collab im a part of (almost done with the lineart for my 2nd scene then I can move onto colors and lip sync but school is, again, keeping me busy lol)

I might write more hc stuff cuz yall seem to like it but it might start leaning more towards whump and angst cuz Im a huge sucker for those kinda things (but I'll tag it for those of you who dont wanna see that sort of thing so you can block the tag) but im still deciding on thag though. If I do decide to continue with my hcs then I gotta figure out an easier/more organized format to read it (ik its like super messy and it bothers me when I go back to read it over sometimes fhjahdasdfhj)

I'm also in the process of developing an original series (something I plan to either make a comic of it online ///animating it on my own would be waaaay too time consuming and I dont have the means to hire anyone to assist, plus there's the whole voice acting thing// or if I ever go into the industry, maybe pitch it to a network or something idk) but because the themes would be heavy and is meant for an adult audience, it is highly unlikely that I'll ever post it on this blog (or anywhere on tumblr tbh). But it's still in development and I probably wont get around to working on the actual writing for the series until 2-3 years down the line (for now im still coming up with segment concepts and characters)

For now, in between all of that, Im just gonna keep posting my usual fan arts and I appreciate the stuff you guys leave in the tags, its super sweet💕💕💕
