Tuesday sees a new block in your calendar. The three hour meeting stands out in the internal calendar as its highlighted bright yellow. You don’t know where it’s come from. You’re nervous.
Have you done something wrong? Is this a firing? Does that really take three hours?
You try not to let your innate insecurity get the best of you. You click on it but the new window offers little more than the time. All participants are hidden and there’s no description aside from ‘meeting’. The only other information is the conference room number. Right, so you’re going to implode in the hour leading up to it.
You try to focus but the Excel lines are much tighter than usual. They seem to blur together as you file through a thousand different possibilities and none of them are good. What do you do if you are in trouble? If you do lose your job? You have nothing to fall back on.
You get up ten minutes from the start of the meeting. The building is still new to you and you have to check the placards on the wall to make sure you’re at the right conference room. The door is already open and you slow down as you see Tony strut through ahead of you. This definitely seems off. He’s one of the top execs…
What if it’s a mistake? What if you were added by accident? Maybe you misunderstood it. Maybe it was a notice to stay away. Oh, you’re so confused.
You enter the room and hug your notebook to your chest. The table against the far wall is arranged with trays of catering; pastries, fruits, veggies, quiche, all sorts of delights. Alongside the treats are coffee and tea and a frosty jug of water.
Tony helps himself to a cup of coffee and several tarts. Several other seats are already filled. You vaguely recognise them, not all by name, but you know they’re from various departments. You sit at the table and lay your notebook down, nervously gripping the spiral as you flick your thumb against the tip of the pen slid within.
No one else seems to notice you. They all know each other and chatter among themselves. Five including you. Not very many at all. You wait, wondering who called the meeting as no one seems in a hurry to begin.
The door clicks but you’re the only one who hears it as they rest or deep in conversation. You peek over as Thor strides to the head of the table, stopping behind the high-backed chair.
“I hope you all helped yourselves to the wonderful treats,” he smiles, “don’t mind me as I grab a few before we begin.”
He carries on to the trays and you look down at your notebook. You open it to the first blank page and slide your pen free of the coil. You wiggle it between your fingers as you wait. Surely, it can’t be disciplinary. There’s food and Tony is one of the top guys.
Thor returns, a healthy mound of sweets and fruits on his plate and a steaming cup in the other. He sits and pushes his shoulders wide, sighing as he peers up and down the table. You shrink down as you sit at the opposite end.
“Well, we are all here,” he declares, drawing the silence of the rest. They all turn their attention on him. “I think some of you already know why I’ve brought you here but we have lots of time to get filled in. We’ll be taking breaks of course but we won’t waste time, yes?”
“Yes, sir,” your voices reply out of turn.
“We will be working on a very special project. It’s big news that we’ve acquired Onyx Row and it’s all well and good to put a pretty bow on it and send out a release, but we have to handle all that background noise. We have to figure out how that works,” he explains.
You’re almost hypnotised by his voice and the way he moves his hands as he speaks. He’s so confident and carefree. You envy him as much as you admire him.
“You have all been handpicked to take this on,” he pauses to look at each and every one of you. “We need a strong team. We’ll have new clients to take it and to retain, we’ll have new profits but new expenses as well, and we have a lot to learn about OR. We all know things are not always transparent in acquisitions.”
There’s a murmur of agreement as you stay silent. You’re still not sure you’re supposed to be here. You don’t have very much experience, just a certificate you got at the end of your degree. You chew your lip as you stare down the table, suddenly caught in the sights of another.
Thor’s blue eyes meet yours and his cheek dimples. You blanch and make yourself sit straight. You uncap your pen and quickly scribble in your notebook; Onyx Row.
“Today’s strategy planning,” Thor says, “we’ll toss some ideas around until the first break, then after that, we’ll come up with a ladder.” He stacks his hands over and over as he talks, “figure out how we climb it. Step by step.”
There’s typing on keyboards. You regret not unhooking your laptop but your notebook’s just as good for notes. Tony leans backs as he chews a quiche, crumbs dusting down his jacket.
“Stark, why don’t you write something down, eh? You’re not here for a free meal.”
“That’s what you think,” Tony scoffs playfully but lets his chair snap straight and taps on his touch pad to wake up the laptop.
“Right then,” Thor stands, “I’ve a brief presentation to get us started before we start brainstorming.”
Your stomach swims. The displacement remains but at least you’re supposed to be there. Even if you’re not sure you’re the right choice. Everyone else in the room is a veteran and you’re just you. That’ll have to do.
Or maybe you’ll just show yourself to be a total noob.
🏙️
At the midpoint of the meeting, several new trays are added to the spread. It’s a lot for six people. You finally get up to grab a tea, steeping a bag of green in hot water, then take a small triangle of a tuna sandwich and a few pieces of fruit back to your seat. Despite the ice breakers round, you’re still shut out of the clique-like conversation of the others.
You don’t mind so much. Talk for business, nothing else. This is work. Besides, you’re so anxious you don’t know what you would say. You chalk it up as much to your own inaction as to their blatant exclusion.
The empty chair to your other side rolls back, frightening you as Thor sets down another plate of goodies and sits. You gulp and look at him as you quit your nibbling of the sandwich crust. You clear your throat and wipe your fingers on a napkin.
“Sir,” you greet with a cringing smile, “hi, er.”
“Thor will do,” he assures coolly, “are you enjoying the food?”
“Um, yeah,” you answer, trying to brighten up out of your cocoon, “it’s good.”
“Feel free to have more. There’s plenty to go around.”
“Thank you, that’s… I’m good,” you press your thumb to your index and bend and unbend your knuckle nervously.
“Tea?” He muses as he reaches to flick the small tap dangling from your cup.
“Mhm,” you nod awkwardly, “coffee burns my tum–stomach.”
He smiles broadly, “ah, mine too, but I’m stubborn.” He leans his elbow on the table, his chair turned to face you entirely, “are you nervous?”
Your eyes give you away as they widen at his blunt question. You dip your chin again, “a little. I… you know I only just started, right?”
“Yes, but you have your qualifications,” he insists.
“Yeah, uh, but…” you glance around at the others.
“But, I have faith in you. As I said, I picked every person in this room. You included. I know that new minds are as valuable as more experienced ones.”
“Well, er, thank you for taking a chance on me,” you bit your cheek and force a smile.
“You know, if no one had ever taken a chance on me, I might not be sat here with you right now,” he leans in just slightly, “everyone deserves their chance to prove themselves. I have faith in you, and what about you?”
“What about me?” Your cheeks wobble.
“Do you have faith in me?” He rests his chin in his hand, watching you intently.
“Y-yes, sir, uh, Thor,” you crackle out, “thanks, I…”
“Good,” he praises and sits up, “I’ll let you finish your food, if you don’t mind that I stay and do the same.”
He swivels the chair and picks up a cracker from his plate. You hum in acquiescence, barely able to muster words. The only permission he needs is your nervous reach for your tea. As if you would tell him to go. He’s the boss.
🏙️
You’re finally let free but you don’t feel as much. You have so much more to do now. You carry with you the folder handed out to each member of the room with an exhaustive overview of your session and the Onyx Road contract.
You sit at your desk and take a moment to situate yourself. This is your priority. Everything else is second tier. That’s as much as Thor said but what are you going to do about Dawn breathing down your neck?
You fix the loose button on your cardigan that comes undone now and again, right at the worst spot; the middle. You pull the bottom straight and clear your throat, signing into your computer as you rejig back to work mode.
As you shuffle through the emails you received in your absence, a figure approaches. You delete a redundant communication before you face them. You expect Dawn but instead, an all too familiar face looks down at you. Sitting, Thor seems to tower over you even more than usual. You feel like you should stand as he bends his neck to talk to you.
“I did forget to mention some things early. As you can expect, some details slip through the cracks in such a big project,” he spreads his hand on the corner of your desk.
“Oh, okay,” you grip the arms of your chair as you peer up at him.
“IT will be around to help connect to the shared drives required for the project,” Thor explains as he leans on one foot, hooking the other over it. “You will be dealing with some very important documents. Confidential so you will also need to relocate…” he looks around briefly, “you will be moved to a private office.”
“Uh, wow, that’s… okay,” you nod with a flutter of lashes.
“It’s a lot, I know, but you will be compensated. At special projects rate, no less,” he intones as he drags his hand up his suit jacket and curls his fingers around his lapel. His fingers are so thick. All of him is. And big. You’re getting vertigo just looking up at him. “You be in your new home by the end of the day.”
“Today?” You ask, almost breathless.
“Yes, we move fast around here,” he grins, “but I also wished to tell you that should you require any support, you will come to me. Your supervisor has been informed of your reassignment and your daily duties will be handed out to your colleagues for the duration of this project.”
“Uh huh,” you croak out, “that makes sense.”
“You understand, this is a big assignment. It could require late nights and… business trips.”
“Yes,” you lie. You really hadn’t considered that. In the contract you signed, it was for a desk, there was no travel, no overtime.
“Another matter for us to deal with. Travel pay, extra hours…” he drones as if bored.
“I understand,” you murmur.
He drops his hand to frame his hip, pushing back his jacket as he stays leaned against your desk. His eyes stick to you as they storm in mystery, “I like that sweater. It’s cute.”
You look down at the flower embroidery and your cheeks singe. Compared to him and the other execs, you were a touch underdressed. That’ll probably need to change too.
“Uh, yeah, I…” you fix the loose button again, “sorry, I’ll… I’ll buy a blazer.”
“I mean it,” he drags his hand from the desk and stands straight, “don’t buy the blazer, that suits you better.”
You crane your neck to look up at him again, “thanks, sir,” you fold your hands in your lap, “I… like your tie.”
You immediately want to disappear as the words trickle out. You sound so stupid. He touches his blue grey tie patterned with white paisley and examines it.
“Not one of my favourites, but thank you,” he chuckles. “Right,” he snaps his fingers, “much work to do. For both of us.” He shifts back on his sole, “don’t forget what I said, if you need anything, I’m your man.”
He winks and spins on his heel. You watch him go as tension raises your shoulders. That was awkward and painful. You’re already doubting your place in this whole thing. Before you can turn your chair back to your desk, you don’t miss the errant gazes in your direction. You ignore them as best you can but they sear into your back. You have witnesses to your humiliation, great.

By Your Side - Chapter 3
Tumblr media
Summary: Only appearing as a mere background extra a few times, your hopes of landing a large enough role to be truly seen dwindles by the minute. In the midst of the long wait, you bury yourself in being the hardest working part-time barista the café has to offer.
Oh, and say hello to your new manager, who’s also working hard to make ends meet.
---
August 27, 1997
---
Brushing your apron smooth, you made your way to the cash register with a your usual practiced smile. "Welcome to the Tango Palace. What can I get you today?"
The welcoming expression on your face was far from the reality of your situation right now. And boy, it was bad.
Ever since the trip from New York feeling like a success, the days of receiving nothing but silence on your end slowly melted into creeping disappointment. Waiting by the phone for hours on end, all for nothing, the day wasted.
And it wasn't just the callback that you were waiting for: you had dozens of tryouts in the race against many others - improvs, scripts, interviews, singing, even a literal hand evaluation - in order to take that one and only spot of being chosen.
Though your parents were always happy whenever you landed a spot as an extra in the background of a single scene, be it movie or tv show, it did nothing to quell the shot-through nerves of wondering if the agency would ever give you an update on that callback you did.
At this point, nearing the new school year for Quinn's first year of kindergarten was the only silver lining in all of this. No doubt, you were proud, but it was bittersweet seeing them grow so fast. It seemed as if it were only yesterday that you had brought him home from the hospital, and in a blink he's walking, talking and ready to learn how to read.
In fact, you were so lost in reminiscing you nearly missed your customer's order.
Realizing you may or may not have zoned out for a second too long, you mentally slapped yourself as you quickly typed out the order. "S-sorry! Was it a regular coffee, one cream, no sugar?"
"And a quiche." Your customer sighed. "Jesus Christ..."
You nodded as you forced down your panic and irritation at the backhanded comment, giving them the total as you set the register to print out the receipt. "Alright, it'll only take a second." Whipping around, you set to work on pouring out a steaming hot cup of coffee, freshly brewed, and placing a pre-prepared veggie quiche out of the fridge and into the oven, dialing the settings to heat it just right.
Holding back your own sigh, you leaned back on the countertop as you waited. Truth be told, you weren't sure if the thought of getting fired was more stressful, or the thought of becoming a good-for-nothing that's entirely possible in the near future was worse. Either way, you couldn't lose this job.
The owners were kind enough, and business wasn't overly crowded with people, but you wanted to show them that hiring you was the best decision they could've made. Thinking about anything that isn't the job is the complete opposite of what you're trying to prove.
'Don't think of anything but what's in front of you, right now.'
---
Later that evening...
---
You tossed each letter onto the table in two separate piles; One for bills, the other for junk mail. After an uneventful day of serving customers, you returned home as always, filtering out the mail for your parents before they came home.
It wouldn't be long before the school year started, and you'd have to cut your hours in order to pick Quinn up from school, elsewise he'd be stuck in the after-care program till six, which wasn't fair for him at all.
It wasn't as if your family was poor or in debt, rather down on its luck. Your parents working at desk jobs required them to be there from at least nine to five, there was little to no time to take a break, especially now that they're not just working to keep the house afloat; If all else failed, you'd have to pick a course and go through community college just to get some degree that'll help you find a job that pays.
A part of you feared that you'd be kicked out eventually, which terrified your thoughts of not being able to take care of Quinn. And not being able to take care of Quinn means you're probably getting kicked out of the house like every other parent does to their kid that doesn't deliver.
Alright, that last part is debatable. But it’s possible, and you weren’t taking any chances.
And by not taking any chances, you sure as hell weren’t about to let the phone ring twice as you practically leaped over the kitchen table to pick it up.
"Hi! Hello?! Sorry- hello?"
"H-hello? Hi, is this-?" A stressed voice stutters out your first and last name.
Your face, initially bright with hope fell comically quick as you realized it wasn't an agency calling you for a role. Instead, a somewhat nervous voice of a young man answered. From how he sounded you could tell he was sweating bullets coming out of the other side of the phone.
"Yes, hi. That would be correct." You replied, not bothering to hide your deadpan shift in mood. This however didn't seem to phase the stranger.
"Oh, great! I saw your resume sent in to my agency, and I see you're looking for an agent to represent you in the coming years? Hopefully trying to find work?"
A few seconds of silence passed as you processed his response. 'Oh shoot, they actually remembered?' You thought with wide eyes.
"He-hello?"
"Yep, still on the line. May I ask who's calling?"
"Sean Warden. Sorry I should've introduced myself at the start but-"
You cut him off. "All good. And to answer your question: Yes. I'm in need of assistance in receiving job offers. Is that sufficient?"
"Awesome. So, the reason I'm calling you right now is because I have a proposition to offer you."
Again, silence, as if he was awaiting a reaction out of you. You however, had already begun to lose patience. "...Please continue." You held back a sigh, beginning to wonder if this is some sort of prank call or scam caller.
Still, this 'Sean' guy seemed either desperate or eager as he revealed his intention.
"I would like to represent you as your agent."
...
A few hours later...
...
"I'm going to be honest with you: This is not how I expected a potential signing of a client to look like."
Sitting inside a Tim Horton's café, coffee cups in hand, you found yourself sitting at a two-person table with a young, skittish and scrawny looking man in his mid to late twenties. Admittedly, this isn't the kind of guy you'd expect to meet.
Sharing an awkward silence, both of you holding small black coffees, neither of you had the gall to break the painful, painful silence. At least, until you've finished reading the whole entire contract that he gave you.
Given you're in the middle of the second page out of... eight, this was going to be a long evening.
Flicking your gaze at him for a brief glance away from your reading, you saw no impatience, only anxiousness, in his face. "Sorry if I'm taking up your time." You offered, figuring it'd be the least you could do for someone who hasn't been pushing your buttons.
Sean waves you off. "No need, I'm just happy you've agreed to even see me. I'll take anything, really."
You raised a brow. 'Anything, he says.' Your thoughts wandered away to making it seem as if you weren't the first option of employment, probably the last.
"O-oh, no no nonono, I didn't mean it like that!" He corrects himself, probably noticing or fearing that he might've made you reconsider signing that contract. "I mean- like-" He sighs, covering his face with a hand, filled with stress. "Don't get me wrong, I absolutely wanted to pick you as a client. I've seen your resume and everything; I can see the potential you have, I mean it."
Nodding, you resumed scanning the papers. "Continue. I'm listening, don't worry." Seeing that he hadn't missed his shot, he relaxed a little.
"I'm not trying to sell a sob story, it's just the truth. As you may know, the work I do is to find others work; Aspiring actors, music artists, the like? I'm no beginner to this, I've had many clients in the past and I haven't failed finding them jobs. But when there's older, more experienced agents... Well, you'd want to be represented by them more than me."
You hummed in acknowledgement, not taking your eyes off the contract as you flipped to page 3.
"My last three clients have all decided to move on to find a more renowned agency, meaning that as of now, I've no one to find work for, which also means my wages are little to none at the moment." Sean finished, clasping his hands together and resting them on the table, looking down as he finished. "What I'm offering you right now isn't the end all, be all. I promise you, regardless of what's going on in my personal and home life, I'll give it my all to find you what you need." It almost sounds like a plead, coming from him. "If you end up parting ways with me in the future, that's more than okay! It's just... please. Give me this chance to help you out."
Finally, you raised your head to look at him. Keeping your face neutral, you finally spoke after a few moments:
"Could you do something for me, if I do sign?"
He nodded eagerly. "Yeah, of course! What is it?"
Taking sip of your coffee first, you then reached into your bag and handed him your notebook. Well, one of many... but you knew this one had something you were looking for, and you couldn't reach it by yourself.
Flipping through to the page you wanted him to see, you slid the notebook over too him. "There's someone I know that's been looking to release an EP this year... probably this year, I don't know exactly. Problem is, you can't find their stuff here, only in Detroit. Think you could help me out?"
"Can I?" He almost laughed in relief. "Say no more." Scanning the written contact info that wasn't written in your hand, you watched as he holds the notebook closer to his face as something flickers across his expression. "Hold on a second..." First starting from genuine interest slowly melted to confusion, then familiarity.
You raised a brow. "Is everything alright?"
Suddenly, Sean's gray eyes widened in recognition, and indignation.
"OH, NOT THAT BALD-HEADED BASTARD?!"
...
....
.....
A few weeks later...
...
"OH, NOT THAT SMUG FUCKIN TWINK."
Marshall's head snapped up from writing another let of lyrics as he looked at his recently-signed agent, Paul. "The fuck you goin on about man?"
Holding the letter in his hands, Paul looked like he was glaring daggers into the paper. "Not you! It's this guy that I knew from law school, fucking annoying is what he was." Tossing the paper to his table, he sighed as he walked out of the room. "Take a look if you want, apparently his client claims to know you or something. They're waiting for your EP."
'How the hell'd they know already, this fuckin early?' Marshall picked up the paper, lazily scanning through the content that somehow got Paul pissed enough to take a hike. The signed name of the writer, Sean Warden, didn't ring any bells except the one labelled: 'white guy's name', if it wasn't obvious enough.
No one here would name their kid Sean, for fucks sake.
The name of his client however... slowly, but eventually remembering that day they met, even if it was only for a few minutes, was not forgotten on either of them, it seems.
Marshall huffed out a laugh.
"Hoooooooly fuckin shit. That bitch actually did it."

Hi lovelies!!! ❤️🍓
Today I will be fasting until at least 2pm, (hopefully longer like 6pm), then im going to limit my calorie intake to 800 today but my calorie goal is 650-700. Probably will end up getting h!gh (its a coping mechanism don’t judge me :( ) right b4 my dinner/meal then going back to bed till the next day. Have a headache today from the weather here so I’ll be taking it easy working out. Hoping to have lots of fruit and steamed veggies for dinner and possibly a side of chicken for protein ^^ that or a protein shake. Ill be weighing in once every week to update you all on how much I lose. I weigh myself daily but it’s hard to update daily due to the human body weight fluctuating based off of time, last meal, fluids, medication, etc.
As always, love ya’ll and Peace out 🍓❤️

ok i lied i love to update u guys. heres updates and general tips and goals for the next fast ❤️
said id wait till thursday but at my core im a little silly guy who loves to lie and tell untruths!! so heres the fasting tea abt wrapping up that last 90 hour fast and starting this one
first off, the refeeding and weight gain update from the two days of eating "normally" : weight update this morning, from my last weigh in on monday, i gained about 1/3 of a pound (i lost just over 10 pounds so really good return) so really happy with that honestly. refeeding is such a huge and often overlooked aspect to fasting, and if its handled wrong it can often negate all ur hard work.
when i refeed i focus on PLAIN low calorie foods. if you end a fast with curry to be perfectly honest ur gonna shit urself to death and have a fucking miserable time lmao. my go to is a PLAIN UNSEASONED steamed veggie dish (usually steamed broc and corn, broc bc low calorie and corn bc i am a corn GIRLIE), and often with miso soup to go with it. unseasoned foods help with the upset tummy after ending a fast, and get ur body used to actually processing glucose again. and miso soup is just a nice low calorie simple food to add some fun into that meal. pls dear god do not eat sweet foods / high salt / high seasoned in general / or heavy meat or sauced dishes as a fast breaking meal. if youve fasted for more than a 4 days im not joking you can literally end up dying from that so just be responsible shawtie damn. (look up refeeding syndrome im not a doctor so im not gonna give u the lowdown)
things to focus on during the fast to help prevent rapid weight gain: drink ur god damn liquids. i dont care if ur getting water in thru diet soda or tea or fizzy water or even coffee. that is water, that is a pro and do not listen to ppl who say that water "doesnt count". when you restrict liquids during a fast you will obvi lose more weight in the short term, but during refeeding if u start drinking normally again (as i really hope u are lmao) you will gain this water weight rapidly. u turned ur body into a desert for a few days, and best believe the second u have more liquid ur body is gonna hang on to that for dear life. its better for u and less stressful in the long run to just keep up ur liquid intake during fasts trust me.
and then this is my go to routine for every fast:
every day i take these suppliments: high strength collagen, iron, zinc, a womens multivit, and the unsung hero of fasting? FIBER TABLETS. bro i can fast for over a week and still not be constipated bc im on my SIGMA FIBER GRINDSET
and then my daily intake: at least a liter of water every day with the "Endura brand low carb sugar free electrolyte drink" (in lemon lime flavor) (i put 2 scoops aka 2 serves per liter of water) the taste is super mid but honestly drinking that every day on my last fast made things such a breeze. literally like no headaches, no cramps, minimal dizziness, and my sleep was mostly uneffected.
then i also have either a can or two of coke zero. yes i know it has 1.1 calories and diet coke would be technically more appropriate for a fast, but i hate diet coke and u will not catch my ass drinking it
and then a cup or two of green tea with a 0 calorie sweetener. no recommendations on the sugar bc honestly i swap between brands depending on whats avail at my grocery store that week lmao.
all this liquid and high variety keeps me kinda full, and provides fun taste enrichment so i dont literally go monkey insane drinking plain water for a week. cool if u can do that but ur literally a psycho and not to be trusted frankly
so current goal is at least lunch time saturday. i have plans to do lunch w my friend but honestly if im not rly hungry then and i wanna keep the fast going im just gonna cancel that lunch or even push it to dinner to just get a few more hours in!
as usual, expect weight updates every morning. the starting situation is: 87kg exactly ( 191.8 pounds) , 20% of my weight loss goal achieved. see yall tmro for the update!

How to survive being sick
Hey girlies,
according to instagram and friends Germany seems to be struck by a wave of sickness.
Everyone and their momma is at home, coughing, sweating and if they’re really lucky even vomiting.
I am no expection, I’m sitting on my couch with laryngitis, unable to talk and with a fever. Love that for me.
I really thought that my immune system was getting better…well…apparently it’s not. I browsed the web, asked my boss and uncle (both doctors) for their best tips and tricks to a) survive this madness and b) build a stronger immune system.
Eat your vegetables and fruits. Please. I am begging you. Your body needs vitamins and minerals to stay strong and fight off all those nasty viruses and bacterias. If you don’t like eating veggies and fruit grow up then make or buy yourself a smoothie.
Drink enough. Water, lightly sweetened tea, chickenbroth or vegetablebroth – whatever keeps you going but your body needs liquid! Especially if you’re coughing – you need to drink even more so you’re body is able to get rid of all that disgusting mucus.
Inhale. Fill up a pot with hot water, dump a chamomile teabag into it, throw a towel over your head and inhale the steam. Clears your sinuses and is also good for your skin.
Make sure that you stay warm. Especially your feet.
If you’re dieting and sick – please change your calorie intake at least up to your maintenance calories. Your body needs those calories in those times.
I supplement vitamin C, vitamin B12 and vitamin D.
Sleep. I mean it. Try to sleep as much as you can. I am currently sleeping like 8-10hrs.
Selfcare. Try to stay updated if possible. Brush your teeth and your hair, wash your face and wear deodorant.
Change your toothbrush – you don’t want all those sick germs back in your mouth and possibly get sick again.
Fresh air. Go outside for 15 minutes if you can. If you’re not able sit in front of an open window.
I hope this helps!

A Not-So-Short Update
The last time I posted about my life was some sad news, so let's talk about how I've been moving forward from that point.
All the zoo went to the vet in March because of a bacterial respiratory infection. We probably picked it up from one of the very frequent vet visits with the 2 chronically ill cats before they both passed. Only 2 of the remaining animals actually had the respiratory infection per bloodwork; everyone got preventative shots, & everyone is doing GREAT.
In the same vetting round, I got everyone up on their yearly vaccinations. It was close enough to that time that I didn't want to drag everyone back again.
One of the cats got a little sneezy & wheezy again last month. She did not have a contagious variant & aside from being VERY ANGY at me for shoving her into a transportation prison & dragging her to the vet for round 2, she's doing great again now.
My family has been over at my house like 1-2 times a week pretty consistently.
I planted flowers.
I've been slowly rewatching the 1990s Trigun with my friend, it's still SO GOOD & I love so much sharing things with people. Especially when people are experiencing things I love for the first time, it's like seeing it again for the first time myself. <3
My kitchen light died. It had nothing to do with the lightbulbs. My dad helped me fix it.
My plumbing broke & I spent somewhere around $3700-$3800 total in diagnosis & repairs. I am not mathing right now. It was in the drainpiping, not cosmetic, & I still have to put a section of wall back from that "adventure" when I feel up to it.
The plumbing issues are FINANCED to a point where they are...ultimately manageable with very minimal damage to my daily life. Ask me about how to game the US credit system, sometime.
I feel like this is a good point to mention my Ko-fi . Although I've got it fine on my own & I don't expect anything from anyone, literally anything helps ease the burden a bit if anyone out there has anything to spare. This has no effect At All on whether or not I make anything Sims-related. The break has nothing to do with my financial situation.
My dad has offered to help me do some cosmetic repairs to the bathrooms (he's paying for new sink handles as an advance on my birthday present but it's super helpful).
I potted some new veggies; my dad got the first ripe pepper off the red poblano plant tonight & I'll have the other ripe one the next time I make an omelette. The squashes are working their ass off, the tomato hasn't flowered yet, & I'm keeping an eye on my bell peppers because they're getting around.
Due to a series of events my former gym has a) changed management & b) owed me like 6 months of membership, so I have that prepaid & going forward for me, I'm back at the gym 3-4 days a week, which has been helpful both mentally & physically.
The lawnmower is repaired, the weedwhacker is charging, the lawn isn't 6 feet high, & most of the jungle is cleared from around the sheds.
Jury's still out on the pressure washer being functional ever again but we'll cross that bridge when I feel like rewiring a power cord with a shutoff switch.
I steam-cleaned all the carpet upstairs.
I replaced my bedframe & have been working on the spareroom/guestroom again (it doubles as storage & sleepytimes, it's not like... rentable, or there for income... it's just a place for friends to sleep that's comfy & full of cattes.)
I got almost all my laundry done & put away. Everything that's not on my ass right now is clean & either dry or drying.

Part 6 of my story
sorry i haven't updated in a while, this one will be short because i haven't worked a lot on this recently. as always if you haven't seen part 5 you can find it here ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Not if you live with the problem” I reply with a snort as I open my first energy drink.
“Ah” they say back in understanding.
A few hours have past, I've already finished my first drink, we have gotten a total of 16 people passing by to yell slurs and profanities at us, and have raised a total of $10 for our so-called “freakish hellspawn school”. As the time drags on, lux is now entertaining both of us with bad jokes. Eventually I had to join in on it, too. “What did the horse say after it tripped? Help! I’ve fallen and I can’t giddyup!”
I sigh in response, shaking my head at their laughter. “What do you call a well balanced horse?” they say through laughter. “Oh no..don’t you do it-” I start before I am interrupted. “STABLE” they exclaim as they explode with laughter while i giggle and shake my head. “Oh my god it’s so stupid” I say through laughs under my breath. “It still passes with a..stable grade” they say in response. “Jeesus crist, NO” I cried through my quiet laughter. A bit later, we were still making bad jokes, and I was on my second can of energy drink.
“What do you call an angry carrot?” “A steamed veggie, my older brother makes that joke every time my mom makes steamed veggies” I start. “What would bears be with out bees” i continue. Lux pauses as if tried to think about the question.
“Ears” i finalize. They give me a sigh now and shake their head, still giggling however as I laugh a bit. Four and a half hours in, Now we have raised $13 and 18 people donating slurs to us. we even got to watch a show of someone coming in and screaming slurs and stuff about how we are “godless demons with fancy hands” and how we all are going to grow to become terrorists. He got escorted off the property, but he certainly was a show while he got escorted away. i’m on can 4, and we are still making bad jokes. “How do you make an egg-roll? Just push it.” I sigh at the joke. This continued until we hurt from laughing and had run out of jokes. At about 6 hours and 6 cans later, we have had 26 haters, and raised $16. Lux had to leave until tomorrow and i’m still here for another 5 hours. Lux’s spot has been replaced by some basic frat boy who thinks he is all that. “So uh, you know any cute girls number” he starts. here we go. “No.” “What about their names?” “No” “Any cute girls?” “No, and if i did i wouldn’t tell you about them so that they don’t blame me when they have to deal with your gross creepiness.” In reality I do know and are friends with multiple girls who are very pretty, but I would never subject them to this guy. Even i am uncomfortable from this conversation, I'm not even a girl. He scoffs a little before he asks new questions. Great. “What about any parties? you know of any fun parties this weekend?” “I don’t go to parties, and if you weren't invited to a party, there is probably a reason.” “You don’t know that, my invite could have gotten lost in the mail.” “No one sends invites by mail.” he scoffs again in response and turns around, basically pouting for the rest of the hour. I spend my time by texting a few friends. douche canoe leaves, finally, after pouting for a full hour. 7 hours and 6 energy drinks into my shift, we have had 27 haters, and raised $20 total.
3 hours later, I'm opening my final can of sweet caffeination, before I have to go on my way to find the staff running this fundraiser to ask for the overnight shift. Normally only the seniors or adults can do night shifts, but occasionally they allow underclassmen to volunteer for a night shift.

Improved Market Stalls 1.0
Over time, EA added a variety of regional recipes and market stalls — except they didn't care to integrate any of them.  This mod fixes that.  Initially, this mod was just going to focus on the missing recipes, but as there are multiple market stalls (even non-food ones) that could use improving, this mod was built from ground-up to be expansible.
The first release of this mod focuses on the above problem. Dishes that were added via SDX and updates were added to their respective food stalls, as well as recipes from other packs (looking at you, Weddinhg Stories).
[*] indicates that the recipe module is required
DOWNLOAD
City Living
Wedding Stories provided us with new Chinese and Indian recipes and, while City Living recipes were available at the Tartosa food stalls, Wedding Stories recipes were not. Additionally, the developers seemed to have missed the Vegetarian Butter Chicken recipe and the Lunar New Year SDX recipes were nonexistent.
Snow Escape came with a wide variety of Japanese recipes.  For the sake of brevity, I only added food types that are not already repesented in the menu (Maki, Onigri, Yakisoba) and a vegetarian option for one already represented (Ramen).
The Mexican food stall has some recipes from Jungle Adventures and the Latin American cuisine SDX.  As I am not Mexican, I had to do research to confirm if a recipe was in Mexican cuisine and I welcome feedback from more knowledgable Simmers.
Similarly, the Morrocan food stall has recipes from Discover University and the Arabic cuisine SDX.  I welcome feedback from anyone more knowledgeable on Moroccan cuisine.
Chinese
Chicken Stir-fry*, Minced Pork Noodles*, Rice Cake*, Steamed Fish*
Wedding Stories: Mud Carp, Roast Duck, Sweet Buns, Vegetable Dumplings
Indian
Vegetarian Butter Chicken*
Wedding Stories: Butter Chicken, Dal Makhani, Gulab Jamun, Palak Paneer
Japanese
Snowy Escape: Avacado Maki, Tuna Maki, Onigri, Miso Ramen, Beef Yakisoba, Veggie Yakisoba
Mexican
Chili, Chips and Salsa*, Elote*, Pan de Muerto*, Fish Tacos, Tofu Tacos
Jungle Adventure: Bunuelos, Empanadas Verde, Platanos Fritos
Luxury Party: Ceviche*
Morrocan
Knafeh*, Zaatar Manaeesh*
Get Together: Pita and Hummus Tapas*
Discover University: Fattoush Salad, Tabbouleh Salad, Shish Kebabs, Beef Wrap, Chicken Wrap, Falafel Wrap
Discover University
As the kebab stall seemed to be more of a pan-Arabic cuisine, I did not add the Moroccan dishes from City Living.
Kebabs
Knafeh*, Zaatar Manaeesh*
Get Together: Pita and Hummus Tapas*
Snowy Escape
City Living's selection of Japanese recipes is heavily limited in comparasion with Snowy Escape's, so there weren't many recipes added to the menu.  For consistency's sake, I only added recipes already represented on the menu.
In addition, the Festival of Light has Pufferfish Nigiri.
Traditional
City Living: Dango, Nigiri
Mountain Food
City Living: Dango, Ramen
Festival of Light
City Living: Dango, Nigiri, Pufferfish Nigiri
Festival of Youth
City Living: Dango, Nigiri
Festival of Snow
City Living: Dango, Nigiri, Ramen
Jungle Adventure
The food stall for Jungle Adventure appeared to be pan-South American, so I included all the recipes from the Latin American cuisine update and the Brazilian cuisine update, including drinks.  It did not seem to include Mexican recipes, so only one recipe from City Living (Empanadas) was added.
As Sims tend to waste food when they get the "Overwhelming Flavor" buff, I suggest my Don't Waste Food mod.
Food
Acaraje*, Asado*, Brigadiero*, Chimis*, Chimichurri Skewers*, Chripan*, Churrasco*, Hallacas*, Pinchos*, Pollo a la Brasa*
City Living: Empanadas
Luxury Party: Ceviche
Drinks
Caiprinha*, Coquito*
Wedding Stories
As mentioned above, Wedding Stories stalls already integrated City Living recipes into their menu.  I only needed to add the recipes from the Lunar New Year update and the Vegetarian Butter Chicken.
Chinese
Chicken Stir-fry*, Minced Pork Noodles*, Rice Cake*, Steamed Fish*
Indian
Vegetarian Butter Chicken*
Growing Together
This one was slightly harder to choose for as it's essentially a sampling of multiple cuisines.  I didn't want to flood the menus with every regional recipe available, I decided to go with a recognizable recipe from each of these cuisines: Brazilian, Korean, Middle Eastern, and Polynesian.
I plan to update this stall continuously as EA adds more recipes.
Around the World
Aracaje*, Japchae*
Island Living: Poke Bowl
Discover University: Shish Kebabs

Aug 1 - Got part of my monthly backups done, the ones for the external drives that are always at my computer. Still need to dig the other drives out of my go bag and update them too.
Cooked mild Italian sausages and a packaged rotini & veggies mix for supper.
Aug 2 - Dental appointment today, dentist replaced a disintegrating filling (it was 30-ish years old, one of the old mercury amalgam ones), and also slightly reworked a tooth on my upper left to try and eliminate a food trap spot.
Prepped some pork ribs to cook tomorrow; steamed them over lemon water in the pressure cooker, let them sit in it while pressure dropped, and once they were cooled threw them in a large ziplock bag with a mix of Diana sauce, salt, pepper, ground cumin, and minced garlic, thinned with a little apple cider vinegar.
Brother was out this evening, so I made myself a late supper of tuna fish salad on toast (once the numbing agent finally wore off).
Aug 3 - Happy birthday to me!
Baked and frosted a PB King cake (from B. Dylan Hollis' Baking Yesteryear cookbook). Broiled the ribs long enough to heat them through and give them a bit of a sear - would have had brother BBQ them, but thunderstorms rolling through said no. Had them with sour cream & fried onion mashed potatoes, and green peas.

Bringing Ostriv Back
So...I'm playing Ostriv again today, and it's been perfect for my stress levels, and while I've mentioned the game here before (I think???) I figured it's time to mention it again.
If you like very chill and pretty low-stakes city building & resource management games that involve no combat, Ostriv may be something to check out.
It's set in Ukraine in like the 1700's (Ok I am maybe mis-dating it but am not spotting confirmation on the store page or anywhere rn). It's a passion project by a Ukrainian dev, and while updates were slowed down by the invasion of Ukraine, he just dropped a big update a couple of months or so ago.
The graphics may not be the most AMAZING the world has ever seen, but they are very charming, and based on actual architecture from that era- I've seen pics on forums that show real versions of buildings side by side with the in-game ones and they're definitely recognizable.
It currently is pretty much impossible to go absolutely bankrupt, bc the game gives 'loans' if you go too into the negative, but you can accidentally starve your town out, or otherwise not satisfy people enough so that they emigrate away and leave you with nothing- but still, it's relaxing and low stakes compared to say, Banished.
There's no grid you need to build on, you can turn snapping on or off, and the economy where you grow the big crops like wheat and potatoes in farms employing the villagers, but also buy their excess garden veggies to resell so there's a good food variety for everyone is neat, IMO.
I just find it relaxing, and very, very, pretty, and when not on sale it's about $25US on Steam. It's early access, but very playable already. I know mileage with games varies, but I have personally played roughly 215 hours, so it's been worth the $25 for me.
There's ONE piece of decorative DLC that's recently been put on the store, which some may complain is hugely over-priced, but it's to help fund the development further, and I can only guess that development's gotten more hectic and difficult with the ongoing war.

broke my fast w/ some kombucha to help restore my gut flora, beef bone broth w/ well steamed veggies and a multivitamin gummy. everything thoroughly chewed bc i'm scared of getting gastrointestinal distress and refeeding syndrome.
also, my 1st week was more of a "dirty" fast. i had about 65 cal throughout that week. most of it being acid reflux tablets because i was and still am experiencing bile reflux. idfc if anyone thinks i was being "weak". i wasn't craving acid reflux tablets and used my bile reflux as an excuse to "eat". shit was so fucking painful. i lost like 10kg so a win is a win. 2nd week was just water.
oh yeah and sorry, i haven't updated my stats in awhile. i have been keeping track it's just i got my period and that made me hold onto a lot of water weight and that made me insecure. i'll be sure to update it this tuesday.
i've been on t for a little over a year omfg why did i get my period.
