Endeavor Deserves No Sympathy!
I don't understand how anyone can think Endeavor was ever a good dad. It also always comes off as incredibly victim blamie, especially towards Touya, and often Shoto too.
He literally only got married and had kids to use them. He never gave a shit about their well being, never even thought about it until he had the one thing he cared about and was still miserable. I've already gone over the math proving he gave up on achieving his dream himself at 21 at the absolute latest. (https://www.tumblr.com/arceus-insanity/763259515356512256/i-liked-endeavors-character-when-he-was?source=share)
And basic math will once again be used to prove just how little this waste of flesh actually tries.
This time the focus is on how quickly he abandoned Touya and immediately went to emotional abuse via neglect & literally replacing him, and once again risking that more children be born with self-destructive quirks.
For context we only see Endeavor doing anything with his kids that's not him literally walking through and ignoring them in two circumstances. Once when Fuyumi's a newborn and Touya is attempting to crawl (not walk) over to her. And training. Those are the only times he tries to spend with any of them, even after he starts his 'atonement'
Now comparing Touya in the scene of them training and himself as a toddler and all the child imagery this series loves to use instead of actually saving imperfect victims, Touya is at least 3 (probably closer to 4) when he's taken to the doctor and they are informed of his condition
Natsuo is 4 and a half years younger than him.
We know for a fact Natsuo (& Shoto) was conceived after they got the news, not willingly either. Pregnancy takes 40 weeks average, so Touya would still be 3 when Natsuo was conceived. So once again it took this 'man' less than a year to give up and have another child he hoped to use as a tool, and was explicitly making to hurt his existing son. And as I have said plenty of times before, risking that the new kids could be born with the same disorder, I hate how convenient it is that Shoto gets near zero negative quirk side effects.
Want to know what we never see, Endeavor doing something else with Touya and Touya demanding training, it's always him walking past/ away from Touya. Considering all of the shit they've pulled to soften Endeavor's abuse both in the manga and even more so in the anime, they wouldn't skip something like this. It's not hard to tell that Touya's 'obsession with training' is really about spending time with his dad, you know like a human child that literally needs love, proven by numerous studies and research in the real world.
He throws all parenting responsibilities onto Rei, adds more children to that load, and when Touya suffers for it (like everyone else) he does nothing, doesn't even hire a nanny
Another are you kidding me take I've seen is that somehow Touya's quirk issues are worse than Midoriya's and Yuga's. Touya managed to train his quirk to produce blue fire at 13 with zero equipment and less than no help, and only lost control of it, because of the mental abuse Endeavor had inflicted on him leading him to a mental breakdown. And/ or the theory I've only seen once of AFO using his ability to force quirk activation (seen with a passed out chapter 90 during his first confrontation with All Might)
Midoriya was breaking his bones all the way into the Shie Hassaikai arc and was only able to fight because Eri and was breaking support equipment in the following arc as well. Yuga had a support belt all the way back in the entrance exam and was still struggling with that.
Speaking of Yuga let's compare parental effort here, because as much as it backfired Yuga's parents tried a whole lot more. For starters they nearly bankrupted themselves to get him a quirk, so he could feel equal. All For One is a mythic man prior to his arrest, and those who knew of him were shown to be serious long-term villain groups, so they had gone to quite a bit of effort to find that he existed to begin with. They also got him support gear (the navel belt thing) as a kid to help him with said quirk, he literally had it in the entrance exam. Endeavor never looked into that, Endeavor is not only rich too but he's a top hero he would have direct access to support equipment companies that would jump at the opportunity and it never even occurred to him.
Endeavor's name is an irony as endeavour means to try hard to do or achieve something. He never tries hard he gives up incredibly quickly the second there's any road block, but instead of moving on he makes everyone suffer for it. He's a toxic pageant mom who'd rather force their child into a toxic world and a role they don't want than work on himself
And what finally makes him change? Getting exactly what he wanted and still being miserable, and he still expects through his actions his family to cater to him.
Not his son getting a major disability due to his actions, no, he decided to double down, mentally abusing and neglecting the son he supposedly loves, raping his wife who didn't want more kids or participate in this abuse, and again risking that Natsuo & later Shoto might have that same issue. Not when his wife breaks down and permanently scars his precious masterpiece, who proceeds to rightfully blame him, and he just thinks of it as a tantrum despite it lasting a fucking decade. Not when his eldest literally dies as the result of his selfishness. Not literally during any part of this entire process!
Dabi is 23 when Endeavor finally starts to 'try' to be better, that means that for at least 24 years he has only been caring about his fucking precious number one spot in a popularity contest that he couldn't even bother to try to be likeable for, this wasn't one bad decision, this was him constantly choosing to be so insanely selfish that he found ways that shouldn't even be possible for over two decades. And it was all him.

I saw your post for more platonic Dabi and I was wondering how you think Dabi would comfort a reader who had a panic attack and or is extremely socially anxious and always seeks him out for comfort. Whenever reader is anxious in public they hold onto the corner of his shirt or sleeve and tend to follow him or stick close to his side. If reader didn’t have the best home life then they’re probably constantly afraid Dabi is going to hate them or leave them. Reader is the kind of person who will let people talk down to them, mistreat them but heaven forbid anyone so much as looks at Dabi in distain/disgust. Reader will defend him with their life and is constantly defending him from other people’s opinions. Basically just reader and Dabi being each other’s found family
Okay, for starters I would like to apologize from the deepest depths of my heart. I am not right the head (obviously.) and I would like to give you the right to owning my soul, for I have been putting off your kind request for so long, and I genuinely am so sorry for the delay.
Now I actually think that this is very interesting especially form an analytical stand point.
Because Dabi does not like weak people. both physically and mentally. It's primarily rooted form his turbulent relationship with his father where he constantly tried to get stronger and better through training and pushing himself to be a strong as possible to please his father. his idol.
from that I think he would despise those weaker than him, not because he actually hates them, but more so because he needs to put other people down to rise himself up. it's more so "it's not that I should succeed, others should fail." it makes him feel better about himself, gives him that feeling of accomplishment that he would normally get from his father saying "good job." but eh rather gets it from bullying.
You'd have to do something truly spectacular to catch his eye for him to not put you down like he does everyone else.
I don't think it could be kindness, since when Rei persuades him to stop training an pushing himself so hard, he instead takes it as her trying to stop him. I'm not saying that that exact senario would play out as in
reader : Dabi! I got you flowers.
Dabi : YOU WANT TO STOP ME FROM BEING A HERO??!?!?!?!?
I'm saying he has a hard time accepting kindness, I'm saying he might not know what is someone trying to help him and what is someone trying to hurt him. like Rei does. this might actually draw him away.
I think what might actually work is the relationship he had with Fuyumi and Natsuo. because all three were heavily affected by their father's neglect and violence and I think that this may be evidence of sympathy or a ledge to protect them one day as a hero.
(of course, he doesn't become a hero, rather going partially insane as I would say and focusing on getting revenge on Enji, most likely to avenge himself and his brother and sister.)
what may lead him to you is the shared sympathy the both of you have when it comes to bad origins. it's the same sympathy he had with this siblings (minus Shoto) I'm thinking he walks in at the wrong time while you're in the middle of crying your heart out I do that way to often and while he doesn't interfere right at that moment, he will talk to you as best as his unsocial ass can. things like "sorry that happened to you." "you're not alone, that happened to me too." undercover of sarcastic remarks like "you're such a crybaby."
or something easier where the both of you reveal more and about your pasts forming a close relationship. details like "my dad would be pissed about that." or "ugh! that's something mom would say!" after a cruel insult. it would be an unspoken bond but a bond nonetheless.
this gives him an undying sympathy for you that he can't properly express. trust me he has so many things to say.
"I love you."
"thank you for being there for me."
"I would give you the world if asked."
"you're the reason I get up in the morning."
but for a child of an abusive and unloving relationship, the words are just not there. no seriously. there's only this feeling of warmth with you and nothing else. no words, only a flurry of pinkish love.
He'll let you come to him like the little ball of fear and sadness you are at times, he'll let you cuddle up you him as much as you want. he'll push you off when calm down a bit though, he'll leave with a grumble about how needy you can be.
note though, that he would probably never push you off immediately. it's not that he hates you, he thinks you're disgusting and the worst thing to ever exist.
it's just that he doesn't know how to respond. and I don't blame him.
it takes a while to get used to, get used to being loved and having something to love. but once he does you are SO in for it.
I'm talking flowers from the grocery store, free stolen popsicles, the right to murder anybody and have him help you clean it all up.
because he genuinely loves you, he really does, and when he understands after a couple years of knowing each other how to receiprocate your love, it suddenly all become to easy to be human, to be alive, to be happy.
he also does doesn't like you being talked down to. it comes from the depths of his childhood dream of being a hero and protecting people. especially loved ones like he does for Fuyumi and Natsuo. this also transforms into a need to provide for his loved ones, this can take form in helping you put together furniture, helping you with groceries, and talking to you when you're lonely. things you would do with your dad, which he basically is at this point.
on the same boat, he doesn't like you to fight for him. in his mind, it's HIS job to protect you not vice versa. he's seen you cry, talked you through your panic attacks, been there through those nights. you've already fought so much with yourself, you should not be fighting for him.
it's beautiful really. how much this one thing can change Dabi. it's just that you'll have to stick with him through the sarcasm and the insults and the roasts. but in the end.
he loves you. he'll protect you. maybe not Japan as a hero, but this one little thing. this one little perfect thing, he'll die for.

@baleburned / @helectia wrote a starter:
Today was finally the day for a date eight years in the making. Years ago, Shoto had told him they'd eat soba together; guess some of him really liked that idea. So much so that he'd thought about it every day now since then. No one thought he'd make it this far ━ well, except for maybe Shoto, and if he didn't, he'd never really shown it. He always came to visit when he could.So did Dad.
Even though he'd spent much of his time unable to move around properly or do anything but sit, he enjoyed their company. When he was a kid, he'd watch them train togetherand wish that one day he'd be allowed to join in… Maybe somehow, he started to feel like he was finally included, even if it was nowhere near the same thing.
People should've known better than to count him out. This wasn't the first time he'd cheated deathand lived way longer than any doctor had told him he would or could. And you know what? He was feeling pretty good, especially today. The restaurant was pretty small and out of the way, but Fuyumi had recommended it. He arrived on time and was a little surprised to find Shoto already waiting for him. "H-ey, Shoto. Sorry if I kept ya' waitin'. I'll haveta work on gettin' qu-icker."
A promise they had made, eight years ago. Shoto never brought it up, never spoke of it ever again, nor asked his brother if he meant to keep it, to keep on living until this day, for he had absolute faith in him, never having doubted this day was bound to come. Shoto believed in Toya— someone had once believed in him as well, when it seemed as if he was lost in darkness with no chance to get out. He knew Toya could get out of his own darkness. There wasn’t anything impossible. They had taught him, his friends, his oldest brother, standing before him, having defied death once more.
He rarely lost his appetite, yet since he had woken up this morning, he had an uneasiness in his stomach he couldn’t get rid of. The same uneasiness he used to have whenever he’d get a chance to get near his siblings, the same yearning, from when he was still forbidden of being part of their lives. Patiently he had waited for many years, yet those few minutes felt much longer until he’d watched him cross that door. As if he were five years old again, his face would light up, even if subtly, like when he'd watch his siblings play, hoping for a single moment to join them. Except this time, Toya was meant to join him.
❝ Toya. ❞ He stood up by instinct, to tend to him in case he needed any help, but wouldn't move unless it was asked of him. ❝ It's alright. I arrived a bit earlier. ❞ He had so much he wished to say, for someone who didn’t speak much. About the hero he had become. The person. Recently he reached number two in the hero ranks. Like their father once was. He wanted to know what Toya thought of it. Of him. What his emotions had shaped to be, after years of resentment and years of recovery. His brother was kind not to speak of his REAL emotions anymore, despite carrying honesty in all his actions— in how hard he tried, in choosing to live. How much of the burning resentment that once fueled his fire was still inside of him? Maybe, there would always be a part of Toya that couldn’t forgive him. Shoto didn’t know himself if he had forgiven his father for everything he had done, and mostly, if he had forgiven his own self. He had accepted it, what couldn’t be changed, accepted to be the one to carry the weight of all their sins. If it meant his family could move on, if Toya could have soba with him.
The reason he was born into this family . . . Maybe it was for this day.

B18: Dozing Off Between Night and Morning
Characters: Nagi Location: Hakodate Summary: Nagi visits the izakaya he went to before with the other members. When he tries to place an order, it seems the owner remembers him… Proofreader: Shay
ㅤ
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ📍 Location: Hakodate – Daimon Yokocho
Nagi: (So this really was the place.)
(I’d love to have the vinegared mackerel again, but would they think I’m weird if they notice I’m back again so quickly?)
…Oh, well.
*Nagi walks inside*
Owner: Welcome. Sit wherever you like.
Nagi: (Looks like none of the customers I saw last time are here. There aren’t many people today, and they’re all drinking on their own.)
Owner: Here’s your wet towel and your starters. You here for sightseeing?
Nagi: …Oh, yes.
(Yeah, she wouldn’t remember me. I bet she must have heaps of tourists visiting her restaurant…)
Owner: Would you like a glass of plum wine again?
Nagi: ……!
……Oh… Uh, I’m travelling on my motorbike, so…
Owner: Alright, oolong tea, then.
Customer: Owner~
Owner: Coming.
Nagi: ……
(She won’t ask me about the people I was here with, huh. Oh, I actually feel really relieved…)
Owner: Thanks for waiting~ Here’s your vinegared mackerel.
Nagi: …Thank you.
(...It’s delicious.)
(It’s mackerel but the sourness is just right. It’s not fishy at all and tastes just like how mackerel would.)
(I think I prefer having it this way instead of as sashimi.)
Owner: Oh, and here’s some fried kelp. It’s on the house.
Nagi: Huh…? Oh, thank you…
(It’s crispy and salty… It’d be perfect with some alcohol…)
Owner: It’s a lot easier being on your own, right?
Nagi: Huh? Easier?
Owner: Yeah~ You have to be considerate and nice when you’re with other people, right?
Being on your own means you get to treasure yourself the most.
Nagi: ……
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ📍 Flashback
Momiji / Kaede: Just like how you’re always so kind to us, I hope you can also treat yourself with kindness.
Owner: Spending time by yourself in a town you have no ties to, where no one knows you… that’s the best thing ever.
Maybe you’ll meet someone who just happened to be there and then, too. Maybe you’ll hit things off with them, maybe you’ll just listen quietly to their conversation.
If you end up meeting them the next day, it’s completely fine to ignore them. No one will blame you for doing that.
Nagi: ……
Owner: You can be the version of you that’s easiest for you. It’s also fine to act however you like.
Nagi: (...Act however I like…)
So it’s fine if I suddenly break into dance?
Customer: Oh, are ya gonna put on a show for us? Want me to play something?
Owner: Only if you’re playing a song from my favourite singer, Fuyumi Sakamoto!
*Nagi laughs softly*
Nagi: ……
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ📍 Location: Hakodate – Mt. Hakodate Observation Deck
*The wind blows strongly*
Nagi: Ohh… the wind is so cold.
No one would be around at this time of the night…! And it’s so much colder compared to the last time I came…!
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ📍 Flashback
Momiji / Kaede: Guys, look! The view looks beautiful at night. Let’s take a closer look at the front.
*The four of them stand in awe*
Netaro, Nagi, Toi & Yodaka: ……
Nagi: …Sigh.
Back then, I wondered… if it was possible that my mother was somewhere here, in this view, but…
(Everything has changed since then.)
….. I’ve got the whole observation deck to myself, so I should take the chance to send Sonia a picture…
Oh, wait. My phone’s dead.
…Ah, it’s the cassette tape for the weekly report…
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ📍 Flashback
Momiji / Kaede: See you home soon.
Nagi: (Maybe they would’ve listened to what I had to say…)
(I’d still like to leave something behind, even if no one would listen to it.)
*Nagi starts recording*
Nagi: Um, this is Nagi Hachinoya from the Night Gro– I mean, a former member of the Night Group.
Sorry for leaving all of a sudden last night.
Right now, I’m in Hakodate. I came here by motorbike for the first time. It was around 900 kilometres. Both my butt and my back hurt…
The burger restaurant we went to before was so good, I had to go back.
I ordered the burger I wanted to get last time. Actually, I bet all of their burgers are delicious. It makes me want to come back to Hakodate in the future, too.
Oh, yeah. There were two guys around our age that sat where we sat last time…
I think they’re university friends, but I ended up seeing them again at the hotel sauna. I really, really sympathise with them for some reason…
Their conversation was really interesting, and it got me thinking: If I also got to go to university, would I’ve also had the chance to go on a trip with them? …Not that I had the courage to talk to them, though…
*Nagi starts tearing up*
…Sigh.
I also saw the owner of that restaurant we went to at Daimon Yokocho. She told me I can still come up to the observation deck on my motorbike even when the ropeway isn’t running. So I came up here, but it’s so cold. My nose won’t stop running.
You know, I thought the owner wouldn’t remember me at all, but she did. She remembered the fact that… I liked plum wine…
*Nagi starts crying*
…Sigh.
*Nagi stops talking for a while*
Nagi: (...The street lights are all blurring together – it’s a beautiful sight.)
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ📍 Flashback
Nagi: Maybe those lights on that highway all lead to people’s homes. Maybe warm meals are being made at the places where those faraway lights are.
Momiji / Kaede: Yeah. All that ordinary happiness is what makes up this one whole view, huh…
Nagi: (I had a dream, thinking I could reach it, but I couldn’t… All those lights belong to other people…)
(No one knows I’m here – no one knows that I’m here all by myself…)
*The sun rises*
Nagi: Wha…? Wow, it’s beautiful. I shouldn’t be crying.
M–My phone… Oh, right. It’s out of battery…!
…Pfft, ahaha…! Hahaha.
……………
…Mum? Mama? Mother? I guess mother’s fine.
Even if you’re not here, Mother, morning still comes and food is still good.
I’ve made friends, become more positive, and good things happened, too.
Even…
Nagi: Even if you’re not here with me… even if I’m alone in this world.
I’ll do whatever I can – I’ll do all sorts of things and even if it doesn’t work out…
(Happiness and tears will blend together. They’ll always come together, hand-in-hand – just like how the night sky meets the morning sun.)
(If that’s true, then–)
…I’m such a fortunate and happy person.

CAR LIGHTS
Shoto's father would never let him be with a boy. Never. And definitely not the one with black hair and sparkly eyes and a hand that Shoto wants to hold and-
Shit.
Shoto's got it bad.
-
Shoto invites Hanta to a house party to try and work out his feelings. But it just makes him think more about how his father feels about boys with boys.
Inspired by the song 'Car Lights' by James Marriott.
Listen here:
youtube
Seroki oneshot (also posted on ao3 @/megansabode
TW: homophobia
contains: endeavour bashing, confused shoto, flirty sero, kissing with tongue, a house party and a first kiss
Am I allowed to feel like this? Shoto thinks whenever he looks at Hanta. Sero Hanta. The boy with the flat hair. The boy with the tape in his elbows. The boy with the grey eyes. The boy that, for whatever reason, Shoto thinks is the most beautiful boy in the world.
But Shoto isn’t allowed to think that. Hanta is a boy. Why should he feel like this about a boy? Someone who’s the same gender as him?
His father will hit him if he ever finds out. So Shoto intends to keep it a secret. A secret until his father inevitably finds out. He will find out, sooner or later. It’s only a matter of time, Shoto thinks. A matter of time until his father finds out that Shoto isn’t as straight as he thought he was.
The thought makes Shoto want to bite his fingers off. Because what if his father does find out? And what if Hanta then finds out what his father is really like? What then?
He jumps when his phone goes off and he picks it up. It’s his older sister, Fuyumi.
Fuyumi
Hey Shoto, Dad wanted me to ask you if you wanted to come back home for a house party? You can invite one friend xx
Shoto smiles at the ‘kisses’, as Fuyumi calls them, at the end of her message. He pulls up his keyboard and messages her back.
Shoto
Do I have to talk to him?
Fuyumi
Not at all Sho x
Shoto
Okay. I’ll think about it. Thank you.
She sends a red heart back and he puts his phone down. Now he just has to work out who to ask. He has an idea, but whether or not he’ll have the courage to ask, he doesn’t know.
~~~
The roof of the Class 1-A dorm building is probably the only place that Shoto really feels safe on. It’s weird–it’s a roof, but with the wind blowing through his hair and the view of the city of Hosu below him, it’s comforting.
And someone else comes up here every night.
“Shoto!” Hanta shouts, grinning as he sits down next to the boy with the two-toned hair. “I didn’t think you’d be up here today!”
“Hello, Hanta.” Shoto looks at him and immediately feels it again. The twinge in his chest. The urge to lean in. He sees the sparkle in Hanta’s eyes and fuck, he’s got it bad. But he looks away and tries to think of a conversation starter.
The party. His brain tells him. Right. “Hey, Hanta, my father’s holding a house party soon.”
“He is?” Hanta grins and Shoto wishes he could be blind. “That’s so cool, I wish my dad would do something like that.”
And Shoto wishes his dad wasn’t Endeavour. “I can invite one friend. Would…” Shoto, compose yourself, damn it. “Would you like to come with me?”
Hanta’s grin reaches both sides of his face. “Seriously? I would love to!” Thank the Gods. “But…isn’t your dad a…rough spot?”
“My sister said I don’t have to talk to him. And I know the way up to the roof of my house. Nobody will find us up there.” Hanta nods. “I’ll find out the time and date and then send it to you, okay?”
“Sounds good! I’ll keep my calendar free!” Shoto nods and silence falls between the two boys. Silence between them is never bad or awkward. They just…understand each other.
Hanta has two sisters and a brother. They play a game called ‘Minecraft’ together, which Shoto had never even heard of before until Hanta made him play it in his dorm.
Shoto died. Multiple times. But it was all worth it to feel Hanta’s hands on top of his as he showed him how to use the controller.
Shoto instinctively moves his hand to touch Hanta’s, then pulls it back. No. He isn’t allowed to do that. His father would hate him for it.
Then Hanta moves his hand. And interlocks his smallest finger with Shoto’s.
Yeah. Shoto has it bad.
~~~
He lays on his bed for around an hour, wondering how the fuck to phrase a message to Hanta. Hey so I actually like you more than my father would ever like me to like a guy and I want to date you? He doesn’t even know how to date him, how is he supposed to know what it truly feels like to love someone?
Or should he just say, We can’t talk anymore because I like you too much and my father will actually kill you because he hates gay people and I don’t know why I’m saying this because we aren’t even dating and I don’t know how to feel about you because this is so confusing and you probably only see me as a friend.
His hand hovers over the send button for a few seconds until he sends a single word.
Shoto
Hello
The reply is instant.
Hanta
Hey! How are you?
Shoto
Good. The party is in three days at 5:30PM
Hanta
Okay! I’m free then!
Shoto
Good.
Shoto thinks that if he says the word, ‘good’ one more time then he’ll rip his fucking hair out. Why does he have to always say the same thing? Why can’t he just say something normal?
Hanta
You good?
Shoto
Of course I am.
Hanta
You just seemed a little tense earlier haha
Shoto narrows his eyes. A lowercase ‘haha’ from Hanta is never a good sign.
Shoto
Well, I could ask you that question. Got anything on your mind?
Hanta
A lot of things ;)
What is that supposed to mean?
Shoto
Elaborate?
Hanta
I’m just playing with ya Shoto. See you at the party
Shoto
Okay.
And Shoto falls asleep with the image of the winking face on his mind.
~~~
After an agonising three days of waiting, Shoto stands outside Hanta’s dorm. They’ve barely talked since the text messages a couple days ago, but that just happens with them. Their meetings are short but stay in Shoto’s mind for weeks.
Hanta grins when he walks out of his dorm, dressed up in a black tuxedo. Shoto clears his throat when he sees it, trying to keep the heat at his cheeks away. Hanta laughs and just grabs Shoto’s hand, pulling him down the stairs.
Now Shoto’s cheeks do heat up. They wait outside the school together until a black cab picks them up and Shoto sits in the front while Hanta stays in the back. Occasionally, Shoto catches Hanta looking at him in the rearview mirror, and he quickly looks out of the window to the side of him.
Fuck. Why is he still fucking feeling like this? He’s not supposed to. He can’t–he’s not allowed.
He should’ve just brought Bakugo with him so that he doesn’t need to worry about any of this. Bakugo can just talk to his sister and Shoto can sit on his roof. Simple.
But Hanta? Shoto doesn’t think he can last five more seconds in the same room as him.
Shoto catches Hanta staring at him in the mirror again. And this time, Hanta winks.
Fuck.
They manage to arrive at Shoto’s family house before he fucking dies and he steps out, going to open Hanta’s door before the boy opens it himself.
Okay. That’s fine. Shoto didn’t even need to open it anyway. It’s completely fine. Shoto definitely hasn’t maybe, definitely made himself look like a fool.
His sister grins when she sees him and runs up to the two. “Oh, Shoto, I’m so glad you could come!” She wraps her arms around him.
“Hey, Fuyumi.” She pulls away and looks at Hanta, still beaming.
“And you must be Sero! Shoto’s told me all about you!” Hanta smiles as he greets Fuyumi. “Now, come inside!”
Shit. Shoto doesn’t want to come inside. In fact, he’d much rather stay out here. But Hanta looks too eager. He walks forward, before he turns back. “Shoto?” There are too many people inside. The world sways under Shoto’s feet. “Hey.” Hanta puts his hand on Shoto’s shoulder.
“I’m fine-“ Shoto says quickly but Hanta grabs his hand and pulls him to go into the house.
And now it doesn’t seem that scary anymore.
Hanta pushes through the crowds, gushing ‘excuse me’s’ and apologising whenever he bumps into people. The guests don’t seem to mind, though. “You got anywhere we can go?” Hanta yells over the loud music that Shoto has drowned out as soon as they had walked in. Shoto nods and leads Hanta to the back of the house. “Phew! I thought I was about to lose a leg in there.”
Shoto almost laughs before he stops himself. No. His father could be anywhere. He can’t risk it. Not now. “We can get to the roof from here.” He pulls down a silver ladder and starts climbing up it. Hanta follows him. The flashing, colourful lights of the party fade away once they’re on the roof and they perch on the overlapping tiles, looking around.
“It’s beautiful up here.” Hanta whispers, looking at Shoto. “But, hey, not as beautiful as you.”
Shoto feels his cheeks burn. “Are you flirting with me, Hanta?”
“Maybe. What’re you gonna do about it?” Shoto almost turns before he stops.
“Don’t.”
“Don’t what?”
“Don’t say things like that.” Shoto says. “It’s not safe here.”
Hanta purses his lips as he looks around. “Why not?”
“My father. He’s- he’s not very nice about these things.” Hanta doesn’t look mad. If anything, he looks concerned. “Aren’t you mad?”
“Shoto, have you really let yourself believe him?” Shoto makes eye contact with Hanta. “Seriously?”
“He’s my father-“
“Just because he’s your father doesn’t mean he rules your life. Just because you’re related to him doesn’t mean his opinions matter.” Shoto stiffens at that. “Shoto, I’m going to ask you one question. Are we friends? Or are we more than that?”
Shoto opens his mouth to protest but Hanta cuts him off. “Don’t think about your dad. Think about you.”
Shoto looks to the side. He wants to be more than friends with Hanta, he just knows it. He knows it from the way his pupils dilate when he thinks about Hanta, he knows it from the love letters plastered on his walls that he wrote, he knows it from the thrill he gets from sparring with Hanta, he knows it.
Shoto nods. “I want to be…more than friends.”
“Then stop being so tense.” Shoto looks at Hanta, the latter of which is smiling vaguely. “Loosen up.”
The boy with the multicoloured eyes and hair, the boy that Hanta can never take his eyes off of sighs. “How do I loosen up?”
“Let me teach you.” Hanta cups Shoto’s face and starts to lean in. He stops when he’s close and waits for Shoto to do something, anything.
Shoto stares at him blankly. Then, he leans in and pressed his lips against Hanta’s.
Their first kiss isn’t pretty. Teeth clash, tongues collide sloppily, and neither boy knows exactly where to put his hands. But after they pull away at first, Shoto puts his left hand at the back of Hanta’s head and his right hand at Hanta’s waist, then leans in again.
Hanta moves his arms to wrap around Shoto’s neck as their lips press against each other’s, and this time the kiss starts out slow. They ease into it, and soon Hanta pushes his tongue against Shoto’s lips. Shoto instinctively opens his lips, and Hanta pushes his tongue through, making Shoto gasp as he feels it against the top of his mouth. “This okay?” Hanta mutters.
Shoto nods, then leans in more, his hand on Hanta’s waist moving to the boy’s chest. His other hand grabs a fistful of black hair as he presses his tongue against Hanta’s. Shoto grins as Hanta gasps, then the former tilts his head to get a more comfortable position.
They’re learning. They both try to stay at a steady pace, but soon get too eager and just make out until one of them needs to take a breath. But before either boy can pull away, a voice behind them makes Shoto pull away quickly.
“If you’re going to make out with a boy on the roof, could you at least do it where I can’t see it? I don’t need to see your tongue down his throat.” Natsuo. Shoto’s older brother. Shoto sighs as he sits down next to them. “And you’re lucky dad hasn’t seen you yet.”
“He won’t.” Shoto says. “He doesn’t know the way up to the roof.”
“Yeah, because his fat ass would break the ladder.” Hanta laughs at that, then stops when the two siblings stare at him.
“What? It was funny!”
“Shoto, is this your boyfriend?” Shoto’s jaw drops at Natsuo’s question, but Hanta is quick to respond.
“Mhm.” Hanta grabs Shoto’s hand. “He is.”
“I am?”
“You are.” Hanta laughs at Shoto’s sudden shocked expression. “What? You thought after we made out it was just nothing?”
Shoto looks back at Natsuo to see him fake-gagging. He shoves his brother, then turns back around. “No, I just-“
“Okay, I’m leaving now. Go make out more if you want, but don’t choke each other.” Shoto rolls his eyes at Natsuo’s comment and Hanta cups his face again.
“We need to find a place where we won’t be found.” Shoto nods. “Come on.” Hanta tightens his grip on his hand and they go back down the ladder, then start to run.
“Where are we going?”
“You’ll see!” Hanta laughs as he runs, causing Shoto to laugh too. “I’ve never heard you laugh before!” Hanta looks over his shoulder and smiles.
Yep. Shoto still has it bad.
“I don’t do it much.” Shoto says in a quieter voice, almost crashing into Hanta as the latter stops. “Where are we?”
“Use your fire to light up the lanterns.” Shoto nods and shoots fire into the lanterns that he can see, which soon light up the landscape around them.
They’re on a wooden bridge, over a river full of coy fish. Shoto’s eyes widen when he looks over the edge, holding onto the railing of the bridge. “Holy shit…” He whispers. Hanta laughs and grabs onto the railing next to him.
“I found this a couple years ago and wanted to reserve it for a special moment. Nobody really comes here, the area around it is all overgrown.” Shoto looks at the darkened trees on the other side of the bridge to see that it is, in fact, overgrown. Very overgrown.
Hanta smiles and leans his head on Shoto’s shoulder. “Promise me you won’t listen to your father’s opinions again?”
“Promise.” Shoto mutters.
“Now come here.” Hanta grabs Shoto’s face and leans in, stopping just before he hits Shoto’s lips. And when Shoto leans in, he smiles.
The cars lining the road behind them light up the moonlit sky full of the constellations both boys would steal for another in a heartbeat.
"UWAH!! I'M GOING TO BE LATE ON CHOOSING MY STARTER-"
Uwahh Hello !! I am Minori Hanasato from the region Sinnoh... And- And I aspire to be a great Pokemon Trainer so I can inspire others to take care of their partners and be great aswell-! My current Pokemon is a Fennekin named Clover and um... I think people call it an Entei?! But I call him Samo-Chan :3 Lot's of people are scared of him though I don't know why... O-oh and if you ever encounter me I just hope you know I'd love to be your friend !! Feel free to ask if we can train because I would love to practice and train with you hehe >u< O-oh and I'm pretty unlucky... ehe so sorry if my unluck drags you down I promise I'll try my best to be more and more greater than I am now !
Hi It's @anonymousrunaway famously known as @cold-bloodedhero-mafuyu or @stoic-hero-fuyumi from the Superhero AU (a.k.a Mafumod/Mafumom-mod/SamoSamo/Samo-chan mod) again..! Minori currently has Entei (Samo-Chan) and a Fennekin (Clover) but her future team would look a lot like this (FOR REFERENCE ONLY) ;
Samo-Chan (Entei) - Level 60 Clover (Delphox) - Level 60 Doughie (Dachsbun) - Level 54 Cumulus (Altaria) - Level 49 Mashī (Walrein) - Level 45 Kawa-kun (Floatzel) - Level 36 (Notice how the levels get lower? It means Minori had just caught them hehe.. so chronilogically she'd have Fennekin first then soon after Entei then after defeating her first gym she'd have a Fidough by then, then after maybe training and roaming around she'd have a Swablu then a Spheal then a bit more time and she'll get a Buizel... hehe) MORE INFO ; Much like in canon Minori was inspired by none other than Haruka Kiritani to become a great Pokemon trainer, because all of Minori's life she'd been so miserable because of her trait on being unlucky. Soon after watching Haruka win and become Kanto's Champion on Television (she lives in Sinnoh but just moved in Hoenn present time) she asked her parents if she can get a Pokemon soon so she can train to be an "inspiring pokemon trainer like Haruka-chan !" and her mother (going to say that she's acquaintances with the professor which is where she got Clover from) actually mentioned that the professor is encouraging new young trainers to catch pokemon and take care of them and wanted to see if Minori would be interested in taking in a pokemon from him and that her parents were going to tell her about it when they heard the news. Obviously she did and she chose Fennekin as her first starter. She encountered Entei (or for her, "samo-chan") in Sinnoh because the Entei ran away from Johto and ended up in Sinnoh... Obviously it was untrusting of everyone and sometimes caused fires but when it met Minori it was just curious of what she was doing and like. Minori thought it would be a good idea to approach a literal big lion dog and get curious about it, Entei ran away from her a couple of times she did this but Minori was so persistent to the point she'd play with her Fennekin at the place she met it at (and sometimes trains there) and like.. You can piece how she befriended it from here. I think that's about it but you can ask Minori herself more about her (Oh btw this is probably on the Poke!Haruka blog but Haruka moved from Kanto to Sinnoh met Minori, Minori inspired Haruka part uh.... 92849038490385 idk she always has to do the same thing haruka did in ALL aus its so gay and like now they're at Hoenn, where the AU takes place it I think according to Ichimod) I'M SO SORRY FOR THE LONG INTRODUCTION anyways TAGS ; 🍀Minori - Minori's Tag 🍀 Fellow Trainers! - Interaction with other blogs/characters 🍀 H-Haruka-Chan! - Interaction with Kiritani Haruka 🍀 Pokemon Fight ! - When Fighting/Dueling with a trainer 🍀 Enveloped mind - Thoughts
@wingeatersblog liked for a starter
Endeavour felt tired when he handed Tamaki the thief over to the authorities. Although the arrest itself had not been particularly difficult, the route leading up to it had been a frustrating cat-and-mouse game spanning over several weeks. Now the build up tension was leaving his body and all he wanted as sleep.
Policemen were swarming the house, clearing out any stolen goods and securing evidence. Since the criminal was already on his way to prison, the hero's job was done. However, on his way outside he halted. Just across the room there was a child, with small red wings and messy yellow hair. He had to be just around the age of his daughter Fuyumi.
So, Enji just stood there and stared.
To his classmates Sugawara Kouharu is the cool kendo and language studies club member who always scores really high at exams and has that small but comfortable smile that makes everyone want to befriend him. But to Sugawara Koushi, his younger brother is a grumpy child he loves to pester with humour and affection, to Haru's disgust.
Haru is a competitive overachiever, wanting to be taken seriously and doesn't like to have to ask or admit help. He's a picky eater (unless it's his mother's food), and to Koushi, a weirdo one (but they accuse the other of being the weirdo of the family). Won't do anything at home that he isn't being graded for or won't help him get higher grades. Unless it's piano, the thing he has been playing ever since Elementary School and couldn't fit as a third club activity in his schedule, having to continue to study for himself. Koushi says he's spoiled, Haru says he just won't accept anything less than what he deserves (he is very much spoiled). Fiercely overprotective of his family despite always acting like Koushi is an annoyance to him, he's ready to weaponize his large vocabulary and sarcasm skills in order to keep the creeps away from his brother and mother. To him, they're both too cheerful and kind to a fault, easy to be tricked and used in malicious ways.
Koushi knows in the end Haru wants to bring joy to his family, somehow feeling responsible for everyone, and worries the extent this protectiveness can be productive for him. At the end of the day it doesn't matter how independent his younger brother really is, he's still a child that needs to be loved.
When Haru heard that Koushi wouldn't be the starter setter anymore, he held a high spite against Daichi, accusing him of having not standed for his brother on the thing he loved and trained hard for.
❛⠀the heat was no joke ... ❜ her voice comes across as a joke, almost, if not for the way it's also wrapped around a tremor of fear. a hero somewhere had draped a blanket over all of their shoulders when it was all over, with what remains of tōya and their father carefully carried to the nearest point of safety. it's a miracle that the medics still deemed tōya alive, though their faces as they informed their mother had told fuyumi enough that they aren't certain if either endeavour or tōya could genuinely make it.
she should move, she thinks. she should be asking the medics where they're taking her father and brother. she should be the responsible one; escorting natsu-chan and mom somewhere safe, as well. instead, fuyumi feels numb everywhere inside. she didn't think it'd be possible: to suffer from threat of frostbites and a burn all at the same time. that, in that very same aftermath, she could barely register it.
still, to shōto, fuyumi musters a small smile. he doesn't want shōto to ever be worried about her. no, least of all, her. ❛⠀it worries me a little that this is what you're up to regularly, shōto. ❜
Do quirk marriages always result in the same combo? IE Enji and Rei will always make Half Cold Half Hot or could they combine to make a different quirk? I’m confused why Enji thought the combo would be Half Cold Half Hot rather than something like warm slush?.
For starters, did Endeavor know for certain that he would get something like Shoto's Quirk? I think not. He only said that he wanted a Quirk that would surpass All Might and chose Rei since he believed that her ice would somehow balance out his fire. He probably thought that it'd work to cool off the firepower. Because, when it comes to Quirk Marriages, it's like any kind of genetic process. There isn't a guarantee that any one combination is going to show up over another. Elements from both Quirks will show up in the result in some form, and some combinations of traits may be more likely than others, but it's all up to chance. Toya and Shoto are the best examples of this, showing the extremes of the worst-case and best-case scenarios for this particular combination, respectively. So if Fuyumi or Natsuo got their own combination, they could have very well ended up with the slush combination or a steam creation Quirk.
@pluviacuratio liked for a starter!
Out of his three kids, the last one he thought he would be seeking advice for was Fuyumi. She was easily the one he got along with and the easiest one to talk to. Enji wouldn't even deny it if someone asked him if she was his favorite. She had a special place in his heart and therefore he wanted to do something special for her.
Only...He had no idea where to start for that.
Asking for help with his kids wasn't new. He had an idea of who to ask for help when it came to his daughter. Hence why he sought out Bella on his day off. After giving her a greeting, Enji rubbed the back of his neck as he asked, "Are you free? I was hoping you could help me with something."
Midnight rant with me about My Hero Academia :)
Warning! This has manga spoilers, I mention manga leaks form 388 AND probably a lot of spelling errors. Bear with me please. Also this probably doesn’t make much sense, which I don’t mind, just don’t bother me about it.
—————————————————————————-
I feel like My Hero Academia has the potential to have one of the saddest endings in the history of anime.
I know that generally speaking heroes tend to be connected with tragedy, but current events in the manga are honestly surprising me a lot.
for starters the fact that Bakugou is currently still dead. I hope that he doesn’t remain dead because it would break my heart, but if he did, it would honestly be a huge tragedy. A promising young hero who had finally started to make amends for past actions who had tremendous potential and had worked his entire life with one goal in mind just to loose his life in an unfair war that shouldn’t even involve children (which just adds on the tragic nature of the story considering a system that has failed them). Imagine how heartbroken would Bakugou's parents be after trusting U.A to take care of him and instead having to plan a funeral for him. And imagine Izuku loosing someone who had been a constant in his life (not to mention the psychological trauma that he probably already has from seeing his dead body, and how it would be even worse if his death was permanent).
And all the members of class 1-A (2-A) after loosing one of their own. Kirishima and Denki would probably be heartbroken as well.
And then there is also everything that’s been going down with the Todoroki's. If Natsuo, Fuyumi, Endeavor and Rei were to die trying to safe/stop Dabi leaving Shouto alone would be incredibly sad. The amount of grief that Shouto would have to go through is probably indescribable.
Also Hawks loosing his quirk is already tragic enough, so I don’t have much to say here, but Hawks quirk is a mutant quirk so he has probably had his wings his entire life. Let that sink in.
Aizawa's state in not better either.
If My Hero Acadamia ends up having an ending this tragic and devastating I won’t be recovering/hj.
No, but seriously, it will hurt. I remember that after Spider-Man died in infinity war I proceeded to cry for the next four hours about it, and eventually I stopped crying and fell asleep, but every time someone mentioned I would tear up a little and I couldn’t watch the movie or that scene without sobbing. I’m not going to lie, I think that I genuinely mourned Peter Parker. If Bakugou remains dead, and the Todoroki's die it will probably be similar to this for me but so much worse.
If My Hero Academia ends up like this I think that I’ll suffer even more. It will be devastating for me.
And even so, a part of me thinks that an ending like this would be iconic (obviously with some actual closure that makes sense with the storyline) and would establish My Hero Academia as one of the best manga’s out there (of my generation before anyone attacks me for it. Although personally I would take my hero Academia over Naruto any time).
Anyway, I don’t know if I’m scared, nervous, excited or just sad for what is about to happen in the manga.
—————————————————————————
I doubt anyone read all of this, but if anyone did, thanks for reading my midnight rant! I had to get my feelings out of my system and I have no one to rant about my hero academia. So thanks for reading my thoughts/gen
💬 (dabi and natsuo again. Enjoying the brothers content)
starter call , feel free to combine multiple prompts !
@heromuses
send 💬 for an angsty starter .
Usually, he comes to the hospital to visit Mom or Shoto, but this- this was different. He came to see him to see Dabi- no Touya. He could already hear Fuyumi being against it and she'd probably be right about it too. But he needed to see him, see his face and talk to him.
starter for @heterochromatica
Late enough in the day but early enough in the afternoon that she was certain he'd be home, Fuyumi readjusts the package in her hands and shifts her purse high enough to rummage through, digging for her phone. Sure, she could knock, or ring the doorbell, but on the off chance he wasn't there, this was easier.
Hitting the quick dial listing for her baby brother, as per usual he picks up quickly.
"Hey, Shoto! Surprise, I brought dinner for you! Are you home?"
This wasn't unheard of-- Fuyumi made a habit of cooking too much and bringing servings around to her loved ones that weren't in her immediate vicinity. For a long while, it was after their visits while her family waited in the car, but...
In these days since the funeral, it was just her.
