7. How do you choose which POV to write from?

great question! i don't know lmfao. if there's a particular logic to who i've picked for POV character i don't know what it is, my brain is keeping it behind the curtain. i do know that sometimes i will go "ah yes, i will do [x]'s POV" and then three words in i am suddenly writing from someone else's. but aside from the occasional "oh it would be easier to write from [x]" or "i want to see [y] specifically from [x]'s view" i have no idea how my brain makes that choice.

24. Worst writing advice anyone ever gave you?

got told by an old teacher that i should tone my stuff down to make it more palatable to a wider audience. i thought it was bullshit then, especially considering she had never read more than the poetry i submitted for a school publication and this advice was given after i said that my novel likely wouldn't be considered "appropriate" for the high school library. meanwhile now i don't think, i know it's entirely bullshit, and often i will go harder into being weird and indulgent just because.

25. What fic do you wish you got more of a response on?

oh look a less flimsy excuse to talk about love with no place to rest (never love an anchor) :D it's a little character study and the focus is a character no one really cares about, but. i'm very proud of it, and i still really like it myself. there are a few others that are the same kind of small and niche that i wish people liked more, but the visenna character study is the one i think about the most.

55. Of the characters you write for, which is your favorite? Has that choice been swayed at all by your followers/readers’ reactions to certain ones?

hmmmm. witcher-specific because that's where the hyperfixation is, idk that i have a definite favorite; i have favorite things about different ones. i think for this question the best answer is either eskel or lambert, and while the opinion was not exactly swayed by @queerfictionwriter, her rabies enthusiasm means that i have been writing a lot more eskel lately (versus, say, the beginning of my witcher writing when i was writing primarily jaskier).

So this might be a little... idk, surprising, but I'd actually really like to rework Fear of Falling Apart, the selkie!Jaskier fic. It was written in something of a hurry (8k words in 5 hours), and there's a lot of stuff in there that feels... clunky? to me now, especially since my writing style has progressed so much since I wrote it. I don't think it'd be major edits, but there's some stuff I'd like to add in to ramp up the dramatic irony and I'd like to rework a lot of the poetic imagery so it flows better!

🤲what do YOU get out of writing?

Well, first of all, I get a fic that is exactly tailored to be the kind of thing I want to read lmao, but I also get the satisfaction of having made something worthwhile and that I'm proud of, and I get to improve my own skills and I get to tell a story, which is a world in and of itself.

so um... i found a pose reference that gave me big vanishay vibes, but then i got carried away then tried to turn it into a lore moment for some reason? 😭

i don’t totally like how his arm looks plus i couldn’t get him low enough because the height difference was making it a really awkward angle, but that’s what i get for copying the anime style again... it’s janky but close enough lmao full disclosure vanilla's bangs and face are heavily referenced bc they were giving me the most grief to copy, no thanks to all those damn little LINES. reference + transparent vers. under the cut!
