Oh me oh my soooo much to unpack about this one, still processing.

For now, just a shout out to the new critters. That rat-wolf-pony was so ugly it was cute, it was adorable the way it would lick its chops, and I just wanted to pet it and hug it to let it know it was a very good boy (or girl or ?).

As for the purrgil aka star whales, what can I say about whales in general other than they always steal the show along with my heart no matter what planet or galaxy they are from:

Star Trek IV is so funny because the writers were like 'what if we set these fools loose in 1980's San Francisco and have them break every single Star Fleet regulation, wouldn't that be funny.' And it was. It was the best movie to come out of the entire franchise.

The real reason Saavik stayed on Vulcan with Amanda at the start of The Voyage Home is that in 1986 San Francisco, with her curly mullet, she would have been way too beautiful, it would have been a massive distraction while they needed to be unnoticed-

Just imagine her with a little bandana to hide her ears in the streets, people would have been asking for her number left and right.
