so we just finished the Geonosis arc in the Clone Wars campaign the lovely @plexible is running, and I decided to illustrate a badass moment from my gal in honor of it :>
“Monster in my head, time to write my scripture
Tear into my heart, need to paint a picture
Praying that my faith won’t let me down
Cut into my soul, there’s a world wide open
Look up at the stars, tryna find my moment
Push it ‘til I break, or the clock runs out.”
— The Score, “Victorious”
behold!! my Star Wars D&D character, Au Vinh Yen!! she's a Jedi padawan during the Clone Wars and she's in the party (called Irregular Unit 94) bc uh. she pissed off the admiral of her last battalion and her Master decided to separate her from this situation before she could cause more problems. the campaign is being run by my friend @plexible, and we are conspiring to make Jen so incredibly sad >:D
Portrait of Antares ost Grissa, the Tof nobleman/cartel kingpin I'm playing in our Star Wars saga edition game. He's 9 feet tall, ladies and gentlemen. And single. And a cyborg. Check out that stache. Pose inspired from a drawing by the legendary @third_cookie on Twitter.
Full disclosure: I am something of a Star Wars fan. I am also a player of tabletop role-playing games, and wouldn't you know they've made several of those about Star Wars. The first one I ever played was the Saga Edition from Wizards of the Coast, goodness, ten or so years ago. So that's what this post is about.
The game, as do all versions of the Star Wars roleplaying game, has several sourcebooks covering the various eras of the old Star Wars Expanded Universe, or Legends as it is called these days, and I always lamented how you couldn't really use all of them in one campaign without, like, time travel or something. And you couldn't just mix things up because this was Star Wars! It's an established property with canon, you can't very well make your own campaign setting for a Star Wars RPG!
Or can you? That's what I'm here to find out. So imagine this: the Old Republic. The Clone Wars. The Dark Times before the Battle of Yavin. The Rebellion. The Legacy era. (No New Republic or New Jedi Order because no sourcebooks for those in this edition). All with their own characters, their own political entities and galactic conflicts. And now imagine all those existing during the same time period.
It's going to be a huge mess, so hold on to something because this rinkydink space truck is off to the Very Unknown Regions . . . .
One of my dream games is to run a STAR WARS one-shot(?)/campaign finisher where there's multiple arenas of action that somehow overlap with each other, like the end of TPM or RotJ - y'know? That's a dream of mine. I'm maybe pushing to do that for my birthday this year? I've got things I'm considering (starting off the KAP6 Starter Set is also up there this year) and hoping for, but, well, we'll see. If anybody out there is reading this what era of STAR WARS would you wanna set such an event in? Break it down/build it up with me, y'know?
Author: hayabusa1138, based off of the Dawn of Defiance Episode VII: The Gem of Alderaan by G.M. Sarli and published by Wizards of the Coast. Characters inspired by fellow players of the Adventure Path.
Timeline: 17 BBY.
Genre: Action, Drama, Romance
Summary: In the wake of a devastating attack, the young Alderaanian resistance must regroup and strike back if they wish to stand a chance in fighting the Empire and defeating a horrific new weapon
or; amidst all the horror and trauma of Anakin Skywalker’s relationship with Leia Organa, the most tragic terrible thing might be the way their lives echo one another
Happy Star Wars Day Tumblr! I hope you enjoy this edit!
(You’ll want to unmute for this)
⚠️ Warning: there is a section where the frames alternate rapidly between the faces of two characters. Idk if that’s a problem for anyone, but I thought I should mention it.
Commission of my friend Zera's OC Bari Nas by the indefatiguable @cadhla182! Bari is a six-hundred-and-fifty-year-old(Force Weirdness) Iridonian Zabrak and former Jedi who founded her own Force Order in our weekly Saga Edition game; the Dusk, who operate as a sort of 'Balance Police' in the post-Endor world, to prevent the Jedi from doing another Korriban, Galidraan, Kalee, or similar(going along with the political winds of the day and taking part in a genocide/condoning one by not investigating properly), especially given the moral compromise of the Clone Wars, and obviously to keep the worst excesses of the Sith and other Darksiders in line without resorting to Jedi-like Holy Wars. She's a take-no-shit hardass badass who has like five adopted kids and a four-person polycule.
Anyway she came out beautifully, and I am as always grateful! ^-^
For all my Star Wars mutuals and followers (looking at @rainintheevening and @clawedandcute in particular), here's an old edit I made for the Star Wars OG Trilogy and Prequel Trilogy! (sadly wasn't able to add the Clone Wars or other series, and only added a sliver of the sequel trilogy). It's not the most amazing edit I've done I feel like, but I'm definitely still happy with it.
