I suppose I really do need to just accept that, the vast majority of Star Wars fans completely rejected George's vision for the Jedi in the prequels, and it has had a snowball-effect on all Jedi-centric media ever since. The franchise is built on a foundation of cult-like loyalty, so I guess it makes sense why it's always so reactive to fan backlash, and goes overboard trying to soften the parts they hate.

George woefully underestimated how hard it would be for American society to grasp the nuanced religious/political ideas he was trying to convey, and we're living through the consequences of that to this day.

What if the reason Etain and Bardan seem to think they were kidnapped as children by the Jedi is because neither of them can comprehend the idea that their parents could have given their children away willingly? Etain looks at Kad and wonders how her parents could do the same and still want to give her away

I dreamed up this random exchange here between like clone wars era Anakin and an unnamed OC military officer or something

Anakin: Why are you here?

Character: I was sent to supplement the 501st on their missions. Like tactics and strategy kind of stuff

Anakin: Tactics and strategy??? What’s wrong with my strategies???

Character: …uhh nothing- the Council just thought I could. help.

Anakin, getting haughty: Oh? Well I’ll have you know my strategies are *great*

Character *takes a deep breath & prays to god for patience*: Anakin. A false surrender is a war crime, not a battle strategy.

So now it’s my goal to write this zinger into a fic SOMEHOW. I just. Gotta finish my wips….

Finally, a pro Jedi person who understands that the Jedi can have flaws, I’ll return the olive branch, the Jedi were a well meaning organization for the most part, and the Sith are undoubtedly evil and need to be destroyed, you can be critical of the Jedi and Anti Sith at the same time

Ok here's an olive-branch to some Jedi antis: I do think the rule of 'only train kids at a very young age' doesn't need to be that strict.

I think being trained as a Jedi should be open to anyone of any age, because I personally believe that any person at any stage of their life is capable of changing themselves and putting in the work to alter their attitudes.

It is more difficult when you've developed strong attachments, yes, but that shouldn't be an immediate disqualifier: the life of a Jedi is difficult no matter how old you are, and I even think that going into Jedi training with pre-existing life experiences that have shown you ways in which you fall short and need to improve with your values, emotional regulation, etc. makes a case for it being more effective than starting from a blank slate.

So, this is one aspect of Jedi ideology that I admit I'm not keen on...

I've had this silly headcanon for a while that Anakin simply saw Padme give birth in his vision and got absolutely dramatic over it. "She will die!" "No Skywalker it always looks this way"
