#shes cool as fuck to me bc when I first played jfa I found her really frustrating to deal with #not just as Phoenix but I mean like on a personal level she is challenging because she’s so thorough #and yet I also find it fascinating that she breaks the character she’s built for herself once in a while #i 100% believe that I don’t think she would have caught on to what Phoenix was trying to do while stalling for time with engardes trial #so it’s probably a good thing edgeworth subbed in but she literally busts her ass to bring evidence to court #almost right after having a bullet extracted from her WHICH SHE ALSO PRESENTS AS EVIDENCE. thats metal as fuck ok #especially since she would technically have nothing to do with the case after edgeworth fills in and she still decided to do that anyway #maybe it was blind faith to use that evidence to win since she wasn’t there for most of the trial but still #and even if canon doesn’t give it to me I still firmly believe there’s be at least some chemistry between her and Maya #like especially if you hold it next to wrightworth that works bc there’s already a history there and majority of Phoenix and miles trying #to relearn their relationship is Phoenix coaxing out that side of Miles that he remembers from fourth grade #but with Franmaya it’s something new and they’re basically strangers to each other and one of them almost got the other convicted #and I still think that’s fascinating and it’s a damn shame thay half of the fics I find for them on ao3 is background in wrightworth fic #i did find a good one that touched on Franziska trying to win pearls approval because Pearl does hold a grudge against her #and seeing that trying to live up to perfecting even her personal relationships without getting to know Pearl to even know #why it wasn’t working feels believable when I think abt her as a character yk #myart #my art #doodles #aa #ace attorney #franziska von karma

there's something deeply gutting about being a writer right now. watching studio execs brag about starving people like you out of your very house just to not pay you anything above the pennies you currently make. watching some people cheer over AO3 being targeted for a DDOS attack. the complete lack of profitability of writing commissions or writing in general in transformative spaces, especially in contrast to fanart. the pivot of so many social media platforms to be video and image based near-exclusively.

I don't know. it just makes me sad to know that the hobby that kept me alive while growing up homeschooled with dial-up internet and local antenna TV... is only ever gonna be a side job with minimal engagement. I know this site is good about supporting libraries and the concept of books but, do me a favor? Reach out to a writer friend you know. Leave a comment on your last five read stories on your favorite website.

I think ultimately if I’m going to be spending an unholy amount of time wringing my hands about doing something to the point where I don’t do it, I can trick my mind into thinking I’m not doing it lol. sketch here and there and oops it’s sequential. that’s crazy… whaaat these doodles are connected? what if I lined and coloured them just because. like what if.

i see so many people starting their own projects and it makes me so happy but so angry at myself at the same time

#this is crazy btw. maybe I should go back to taking my Zoloft #and eating right and going to bed at a normal time #im also stuck in an improvement loop where because I’m passionate abt this I want it to be the best it can be so I have to improve #so all my art looks wonky because mentally I’m ahead and so I need to improve more #but ultimately it’s just me. uhh stalling I think is the word #stalling to not do it #I admit I have a problem so what’s the solution #really the solution is to 1. brea everything up #2. make a schedule. 3. allow myself time not to think about them so doing the comic is a reward. 4. remind myself of the fact that we r #making this because we love it and that no else actually needs to see it. 5.remmebe this is practice (so I don’t caught in a loop of restart #6 I think. give myself breaks and rewards for finishing pages or even panels #ultimately focus on having fun and not on extrinsic motivation #BUT ITS SOOO MYCH WASIER SAID THAN DONE BOOOOOOOOOO #but I can do hard things 😭 and if it is a neurological issue I will talk to my doctor about it because wheww Chile #I was scared of college and I’m literally finishing my first semester in a day or so #please somebody tell me I can do this 😭 maybe threaten me a bit

Love the thought of Leo just casually being well traveled to absurd degrees. Like one day they’re facing their new Big Bad of the year and like, Draxum or whoever says that the key to their fight is located somewhere in, like, Latvia or some place, but no one knows where to start.

Then Leo’s like “oh I know a place” and when asked how the heck he could know of one it smash cuts to Leo falling through the ceiling of said place due to a portal mishap.

Also love the idea of Leo, being as accidentally (and then later, purposefully) well traveled as he is, sometimes taking his family on outings to different places all over, maybe to some new Yokai spots he found along the way.

In these places, Leo 100% lets his bros get scammed by tourist traps.

Now imagine Logan doing this to Wade. He's got his claws partially unsheathed and is pawing at the hand Wade is holding his phone with. And he’s lying, shivering, in the grass, with Edwin over him frantic as the first glints of blue light start to come. And Charles yells at Edwin to run - but Edwin just curls over him and clasps his hand against his chest.

Edwin must be too upset to understand what’s happening, Charles thinks, and he shoves at Edwin as hard as he can.

“Edwin! I stay, you go, remember? Edwin, you have to go!”

Edwin lets himself be jostled back and then curls right back over Charles, shaking his head. “I’m not letting you die alone.”

“She’ll take you to Hell, Edwin, you have to GO!” He shoves again, knocking Edwin to the ground this time.

Edwin crawls back and rests his head against Charles’s stomach. “I didn’t let you die alone even when we were strangers, Charles, and I’m not leaving this time. I can escape again if I have to.”

Charles is almost out of strength as the light grows. Edwin drapes himself over Charles as Charles tries to push him off with limp arms, breaking into desperate sobs as he realizes he’s too weak to save Edwin this one last time.

“It’s alright, Charles. Don’t cry. I’m not letting you die alone.”

#as I stated this was pre-canon I leave it to you to how they got out of it #my guess is that Death stalled as long as she possibly could #and then Constantine showed up in the nick of time with a counter-spell #dead boy detectives #edwin payne #charles rowland #mine #Charles screams at him until sunrise afterwards #until he finally extracts a promise that Edwin will never do that again #(Edwin promises with his fingers crossed behind his back)
