Oh, so we're all about 'I love my wife - I'd kill for my wife' guys here until it's Stonn?? My man Big Pebble????? [Patreon | Commissions]
#tone: lighthearted#Stonn#tos#he is...SO hard to draw#bea art tag#tos art#star trek art#star trek tos art#star trek fanart#T'Pring#listened to 'the wagoner's lad' bc firstroseofspring posted that the song is very stonn/t'pring and WAAAAAGH#One particular verse in Lord Huron's 'Setting Sun' also reminds me of them#'Oh is he ready to die for you baby? No. But you know I was. / I'm fond of living but I would have given it all for the girl I loved.#Oh is he ready to die for you baby now that the deed is done? I'm just waiting for night and the fading light of the setting sun.'#<- the rest of the song doesn't fit them and I don't think Stonn would be spiteful [which is the tone of the song] he is quite#literally ready to kill or die for T'Pring as long as she wants to be together (and in my mind that same verse applies to Kirk who would#kill or die for Spock). In the end Spock 'forgets about the girl' after the deed (supposedly killing Kirk) is done - proving his supposed#desire to be entirely the fault of the fever. But Stonn?? Even when the sun sets (the fire goes out - the fever is no more - cool night#settles) he will still be there by her side <3#Amok Time I love you thank you for giving us T'Pring and Stonn I refuse to make them villains <3 no one is a villain#except....THE LAW!!!!!! -grabs a torch-#I don't personally characterize Stonn as stupid bc I think T'Pring's standards are higher than that#But maybe that's another parallel between him and Kirk - where people think they're dumber than they actually are

Currently obsessed with a music genre I’ve dubbed ‘Pretty Girl Pop’ (Chappell Roan, Clairo) and have realized that it is so Jim Kirk Coded.
James Tiberius Kirk is Starfleet’s number one Baby Girl and he listens to Pretty Girl Pop while he gets ready and I DO NOT take criticism. He plays his silly music and makes Leonard dance with him. (Leonard says he hates it and complains the whole time but he’ll literally do anything Jim asks because he loves him)
Of course this also makes me desire saphic mcspirk because girlfriends who listen to Pretty Girl Pop and do each other’s eyeshadow…

SNW Christine has the vibes of someone who pours a glass of wine, hands it to Uhura, then starts drinking from the bottle. SNW Christine says she’s going to have “one glass of Romulan ale” and then pulls out a comedically large glass as a goof. Christine wore white converse with her thrift store dress to space prom. I can see this all clearly. She is this to me:

Idk why some people say The Piece of Action is one of the worst episodes, while it’s one of the best. Here are some reasons:
- Kirk having so much fun with the whole thing, you can tell he didn’t want to change the society so he could LARP there from time to time.
- The plot is so ridiculous and random it’s brilliant.
- The mobster saying to Bones he’s got innocent baby blue eyes.
- All bosses having cute yet dangerous eye candy girls beside them, telling them to sit next to them and Kirk telling to do the same to Spock, implying that Spock is the cute yet dangerous eye candy girl of Kirk the boss.
- Spock saying how easy it is to contact Enterprise through the radio, getting the radio program instead of Enterprise and looking at Bones as if it is his fault.
- Spock and Bones suddenly having besties energy during the episode, and Spock and Kirk having extremely married couple energy.
- Kirk’s driving skills and I’m sure Spock could drive much better, and Spock knows it, but he preferred to watch the chaos unfold and be a passenger princess instead of helping.
- Kirk getting a hand on a jargon and confusing Scotty all the time is a top tier comedy for me.
- Spock at some moment getting a hand on jargon as well.
- Scotty trying to use jargon and getting it wrong.
- Kirk willingly continuing using jargon when they left the planet.
- Kirk calling Spock “Spocko”.
- Kirk calling Scotty “babe” and “sweetheart” and Scotty not minding it at all.
- Mobsters wanting to touch Kirk all the time for some reason and Kirk being annoyed by this.
- Kirk being so good as a mobster that mobsters wanting him to be the boss is very in character of Kirk and I love it.
- How good Spock and Kirk were looking in that clothes.
- Kirk understanding fashion.
- Bones being nervous he left the communicator there and not wanting to tell Kirk.
- The whole ending is basically being a punchline of a 50-minute joke (I laughed out loud).
- The only thing that could make the episode better would be to have Uhura, Sulu and Chekov there. I’m sure Sulu would accidentally become the boss there.

Also SAME EPISODE non-binary pirate character sits down with Spock to tell him about how different species tend to put people in boxes and sometimes that’s limiting and not who we truly are. He asks if they mean he needs a better balance between his human and Vulcan natures, and they reply that perhaps he is actually neither human nor Vulcan. “Then what am I?” He asks, to which they reply “that’s not my question to answer”
Yeah I just think it’s incheresting that in order to better understand Spock’s human side and “understand what makes you you” T’Pring chose to read, along with other texts she claimed were very “male” and “female” points of views, Maggie Nelson’s Argonauts, which she preferred and described as a more interesting study on “the transformation some humans go through in the process of—” and then Spock cuts her off before she can finish but
Tumblr media
Anyway all I’m saying is T’pring is very smart and intuitive and Spock is so worried at her insistence on exploring his “human side” which apparently includes a lot of research on gender so

the Sarek family is hilarious to me because you have so much drama in one place. there have got to be at least 3 like, holo-documentaries or whatever about them. how could you not?
you have Sarek, the patriarch: one of the UFP's top diplomats, who knocks up a Vulcan princess then goes “hrm I am ambassador to Earth therefore I should marry a human” and he does, upsetting all sorts of the worst kinds of people on his home planet and causing racist hate groups to try to blow him and his family up multiple times, and seems honestly more put out by his son joining Starfleet than his other son becoming Vulcan Moriarty
Amanda, the matriarch: an accomplished educator and quite possibly the only well-adjusted member of the family, but when her son Spock shows up on her doorstep after growing a beard, having a mental breakdown and apparently murdering several medical staff she still shrugs and hides him in the family mausoleum
Sybok: Amanda's stepson from the aforementioned princess fling, who becomes an antiestablishment criminal mastermind with an edgelord fake name, hooks up with a hot space pirate, finds religion, starts a cult, takes an entire colonial government hostage sparking a diplomatic incident involving three galactic superpowers, and hijacks a Starfleet ship to the galactic core to find the Vulcan Garden of Eden, where he dies fighting god in hand-to-hand combat
Michael, a traumatized human girl Sarek brings home from a work trip, who joins Starfleet, becomes their first-ever mutineer, goes to prison, saves the Federation from a war most people think is her fault and gets “killed” in a highly classified, very suspicious incident involving an experimental starship and a series of red lights that appeared across the galaxy like a divine omen (oh, and returns 900 years later to solve the dilithium crisis, kill the head of the Emerald Chain and save two entire star systems including her siblings' homeworld)
and last but not least Sarek & Amanda's one-of-a-kind hybrid baby. Spock, who gets accepted into the Vulcan Science Academy, tells them to go fuck themselves when they're racist about it, runs off to Starfleet instead, gets so famous his arranged marriage falls apart resulting in him publicly strangling his own captain to death except not really, steals the Federation flagship twice, invents time travel, saves the entire planet Earth, dies and comes back to life, goes into his dad's line of work and achieves peace with the freaking Klingons as his opening act, then after a long successful career suddenly dips to go do extremely dangerous underground activism on one of the most paranoid authoritarian worlds in the galaxy to unify the Romulans & Vulcans who've hated each other for over a thousand years — and he isn't around to see it but it eventually works. then he fucks off with the VSA's high-speed prototype ship full of the most dangerous substance known to science and gets sucked into a black hole of his own creation, never to be seen again. and this is just the stuff that's public knowledge!
then you dig into the novels where Sarek's ancestor basically makes out with Zefram Cochrane 5 seconds after meeting him and Amanda tells the press her husband has a huge cock
I love them
