Ramble about new past life memories below the cut. I don't talk about the spiritual side of my nonhumanity almost ever on this blog, so if you're not interested, feel free to just enjoy this moodboard ^^

After IDing as a dog c'link for so long, I finally stopped being able to deny the involuntaryity of my dog-ness. I can now officially kinfirm that I am a harlequin coated beauceron. I've been obsessed with this breed ever since I found it, so it's no surprise that it turns out I am one.

Anyway, what I did find surprising was that I started getting what I describe as "visions" (involuntary mental imagery that is usually spiritual in nature and/or memory related) in relationship to my beauceron 'type.

The first was many months ago. Long before determining I was a dog therian. Snapshots of being in a TON of different places, specifically cities. I felt like I was taken traveling a lot by my human. This is when I started questioning another past life. I had no idea what 'type it could be from though, so I ignored it for a long time.

Later down the line, I was able to piece together that I was a service dog. I think for mobility aid. I stayed by my owner at all times, who happened to love traveling. Her name was Abby(?), and she had long brown hair and freckles. My name was Bruno.

We went places together in a big van. We stayed at an older woman's house every once in a while. Either her mother or grandmother's place I think. I vaguely remember another girl: Delilah, who may have been Abby's girlfriend, wife, etc.

Uncovering more memories has been great... Up until a few nights ago. Finally, I remember my death. Laying on what must have been a vet's table with Abby in front of me. It's blurry, but I remember her saying goodbye and that she'll miss me.

What absolutely crushed me the next day (irl), though, is that my dog since childhood had to be put down. I've always seen him as my brother, so of course that part hurt seeing him go. What really broke me, though, is the fact that I know (and had just remember) what it's like from the other perspective. I had to say goodbye to my dog, remembering what it's like to say goodbye to an owner.

I try to ignore that one painful memory though, as there were so many more fantastic ones to think about. Playing together. Eating together. Adventuring together. Of course I miss it, but that's the price for getting to remember it all again.

For those questioning how I determine real memories from imagination, as some who struggles with memory and daydreams constantly, it's actually pretty easy! There's always one specific tell that let's me know whether something is imagined or remembered: What POV is it in? My memory of any given event, no matter how old, is almost always in third person. Memories, for me, are brief snapshots seemingly taking from behind me or over my shoulder. Imagined things/scenarios, however, are always in first person. They're usually very detailed, clear, and can play like a movie in my head.

🌿Species- Shapeshifter: Usually took the form of a mammal or bird, specifically canines (wolves, dogs) and felines (cats) with avian features. Although being a black wolf/werewolf used to be my favorite form.

🍀More in-depth description: black werewolf (aka humanoid wolf), long muzzle, big claws and tail, very fluffly. Bipedal and quadruple.

🌿Habitat: mountain forests, I remember the rivers, and living near the city, sometimes it snowed too I think. Probably taiga or temperate forest in the northern hemisphere.

I have recently seen a few posts hating on those who spiritually connect to their kintypes/theriotypes/etc. Addressing this felt important.

We are meant to be an inclusive community. Do not allow a false sense of superiority allow you to feel as if you are above people in the same community as you. Everyone here is hated on by outside people enough, we have to stick together and stop trying to tear our community apart. It is only achieving infighting and spreading our community far too thin.

Physical therians/otherkin/nonhumans are valid and belong here. Spiritual therians/otherkin/nonhumans are valid and belong here. Those who identify in all sorts of ways belong here and are valid.

Stop distancing yourself from the only ones that will truly have your back.

there are other kinds of spirituality!! you can be spiritual and not believe in past lives, or not believe you had one! your spirituality is YOUR spirituality and you can define it however you want. if being a spiritual therian is a label that you believe suits you, then it’s your label.

i am so tired of seeing people calling therianthropy spiritual. sure, for some people it is, but this is not a spiritual exclusive experience. it is psychological, it is physical, and it is spiritual. not everyone has a past life they’re connected with. people need to stop being exclusive in their terminology

i’ve been watching a lot of nonhuman shorts on youtube lately, and i feel the need to say that i’m quite sad (and then pissed off cuz of that) about how many of them are just skinny, in-shape young kids (around my age or a few years younger than me).

i wanna see my fellow chubby out of shape teens who don’t do quads that often, because of how out of shape and chubby they are, even if they love quads.

i wanna see my fellow out of shape teens who pull a muscle when doing quads, or are out of breath right away, or are completely sore afterwards for days.

i wanna see my fellow chubby teens who’s quads are clumsy and not graceful because we have all that extra weight on us.

i wanna see my fellow queer chubby teens who bind and who don’t do quads that often cuz their chest doesn’t stay in place right or stay flat and it makes them feel gender dysphoria.

i wanna see my fellow chubby, out of shape teens doing this stuff. or not even teens! anyone of any age! that isn’t skinny as hell and that isn’t in shape!

i just would like to see some more nonhumans like me please.

Alterhumans, otherkin, therians, fictionkin, etc., if you have talked about your identity to a therapist or other mental health professional, how did it go?

I mainly ask for myself since I’m hopefully starting therapy soon and these identities and community have been such a huge part of my life for almost a decade so like, I kinda really wanna talk about it at least somewhat lol.

I think one reason that there is this big misconception, especially on tiktok, that Therianthropy is just having a spiritual connection to an animal is because that's all people see. When many Therians talk about where they're Therianthropy stems from it's usually their spirituality. And people assume that that's all Therianthropy is about. This misconception spreads to other beings who are considering if they are a therian causing them to spreed this false idea even more. It is true that spirituality is prevalent in the community but I really wish people would actually do research on Therianthropy instead of just believing what they see on tiktok and making assumptions.

Hello critters of Tumblr ! This is my updated intro post :3 Here , you will find information about me , as well as what my content is / will be , and my DNI

You can call me Coy or Dog ( and any variation of such ) I use she / it / thing / pup / mutt and really any canine related neo pronoun .

I identify most with the therian + transspecies labels ! I am a coydog , specifically a coyote mixed withh a golden retriever . I also identify with the canine / candid umbrella as a whole . I am also an anomaly and a robot !!

I have been awakened since 2017 , so at the time of posting this I have been a semi - active part of the community for seven years ! How cool !

I am 19 years old , but no worries ! This is not an 18 + blog . If I do decide to post more adult content , I will either explicitly state MDNI on the post or I'll make a side - blog !
