Decided that Skaven and Rutans don’t like each other
A Rutan can imitate a rat in shape, but the rituals…they’re so intricate; meanwhile, the nasty-filthy snot-blobs stink-reek, and they know what they did
And therefore, they’ve been at war since first contact, in one that, accounting for it having started only a thousand years ago, is proportionally more brutal and horrifying than the Sontaran-Rutan conflict

Have I got some good news about Mortian Miniatures cyber-rat line.
A 40k army I would love to see someone else make, as I am not actually interested enough to do it myself I just think it would be neat-
Skaven Mechanicus.
Skaven Genestealers are the obvious choice for bringing Skaven into 40k (assuming they're Imperium-adjacent and not just xenos) given the similarities of literally and metaphorically undermining the oppressive feudal empire in service to their own ends rather than to make things better. But the rats are so fun and mad-sciencey in WFB and AoS, the thought of them scrambling about with mechadendrites and rad-guns is more appealing to me, personally. I mean, mechanicus people's remaining flesh is always gross and dying due to how much radiation they're exposed to, the typical skaven plague boils would fit right in.
Skitarii are easy enough (hell the name is already halfway to skitter through linguistic serendipity). Literally just come up with some kind of elongated snout hooded masked head, 3d print a billion of them, and glue them right to the existing bodies. They don't even necessarily need ears, though that would be hella cute.
Sicarii would be even better though, imo. Digitigrade mechanical legs and all that. You'd just have to find a way to get enough robes for the whole squad and not just the leaders, because robes are such a big part of the skaven look. Just throw in some stormvermin bits, swords and whatnot, to really sell the look.
Similar thing with techpriests tbh; they're already hunched over rat-style. Just get yourself some guitar string and make cable-tails coming out the back of their robes. Maybe add a bit of patchy fur to like, the exposed wrist of the tech-priest dominus. Give him claws if you're confident with the tiny sculpting.
How big is the doom wheel? Like serberys-sized or more sidonian sized? Too small to be a counts-as onager or skorpius, though, right? Just throw more mechanicum bits and symbols on the existing skaven model and run that. It' be hilarious.
Wait, I'm dumb, the doom flayers are the perfect size to be serberys dragoons and the other one, leave the doom wheel for sidonians or bigger.
Kataphron look like they should be easy to give the same treatment as the skitarii et al with just a little head-swap but I dunno, that seems uninspired to me. Maybe make them more like clan-rat powered mini-tanks? Couple of little hatches with horrid rat faces peeping out? Or maybe just keep the servitor as human, lol. "The only good use-function for man-things!"
Anyway yeah I don't have the time, energy, or give-a-shit to actually do any of this, but I'd love to see someone else who's more excited about Mechanicus and/or Skaven do it.

On a scale of 1 to Slaanesh, which faction's players are, in your opinion, the most down bad for said faction?
40K, AOS, don't matter, who's out there dangerously close to recreating "The Jar."
Skaven and Tyranid players are so far ahead of everyone else I can only look on with a mixture of concern and respect

Man I need some help making some anti-GW propaganda but I'm broke. I genuinely think if we can get everyone together like the Hell Divers community we might be able to get the bastards to lower their prices instead of hiking them up again!
Tumblr media
Imagine GW's reaction to mass 3d printing artwork. Posters of 3d printers with a line of super soldiers marching out, space marines dying in a last stand holding a gw banner as they're overwhelmed by 3d printed armies, a printer unleashing a full legion of models for the same price gw has you pay for five. Stuff like this! Fuck I wish I stuck to my digital media classes!
Prices are higher than ever in our day to day lives! We can't just allow one of our major escapes to be taken from our grasps for no reason beyond the greed of scumbag CEO's! We're fighting and winning against the gaming companies! We need to fight GW!
Remember that you can boycott gw by using third parties! 3d printing if you have a printer is a great option (websites like cults3d and myminifactory are my go to) and if you don't have a printer many 3d modelers have deals with Etsy sellers to distribute their pre-printed products!
While I do want a very public representation of our boycott and spread the word, what's more important is making GW lose money!
They need to lower their prices and gives us plastic or we'll give them resin!

Day 1500: painted some of the eyes. I also pulled out almost every miniature I've painted in the last 1500 days and took a group photo! Took nearly two hours to setup and teardown. Immensely proud of the collection I've steadily built over the years

"There are no Skavens in 40k" they said, well, we'll see about that.

Finished the Admech killteam with some Skitarii. I think the copper look was a great choice for them! The whole box of Skitarii isn't finished yet, but the basic team is complete.

Not sure what to do next—possibly some space skaven as a genestealer cult proxy?

" My-my horns are blessing from the Horned Rather!" Heliinx declares, both proud and irritated, " They mark me out as his speaker-squeaker. I rule-rule just as much as you do. Rats grovel when I am around and musk themselves in fear-terror!"
Tumblr media
Yeskiv glances at her nails. “In the Dominion, horns are as trivial as an accessory. Anyone can have them. I've even had them.” The snide curl to her lips is hidden behind her mandibles. “But I got rid of them.”

One of the more common wishes I hear for 40k is the inclusion of Space Skaven.
A faction that sends unending hordes of thralls face-first into danger, with no regard for their wellbeing.
A faction that speaks in a corrupted amalgam of the speech of men and a screeching, chattering noise.
A faction that regularly stitches the living and dead together in horrid abominations
A faction that grafts dangerous, unstable technology to living flesh.
A faction which cares little for the lives and laws of men, only seeking their own goals.
A faction of backstabbing, squabbling, wirey creatures clawing their way to prestige and salvation.
All to appease a mysterious, ill understood god. Trusting their devices, gifted from this god and their own cunning, that in truth they barely understand.
Praise the Machine-God, yes yes.
