🐸Neptune just has to rule over kpop. I mean think about all the use of illusions, talk about love/relationships and the way the fans act like... Fanatics.

🌹If not Neptune, then Uranus. The fans, even the industry itself, having really unpredictable behaviours is a key part of it. Also how it managed to (currently) revolutionize the view on East Asians(mainly Koreans) and the boost to technology due to rapid changes in the country and music.

🐸The Koreas are ruled by Leo. And in no way, shape, or form am I surprised. It's the way South Korea isn't known for idk Samsung (technology) but Kpop, Kdramas/film (arts). So yes Leo and the 5th house make sense as the country ruling because that's what made it truly famous/globally recognized. For the North, they stay in the news mainly due to technological changes and political happenings rather than any cultural/art based things like the South. Both very famous but for opposite reasons.

🐸I'm more convinced Venus rules over classical music over Saturn. Yes Saturn is related to time and strictness. Yet if you listen to classical music it's more about expressions of beauty or lack of.

🌹You could argue that Mars could even rule over it due to the tempos used in most classical songs. They were meant to express the ideas of the time and hence their popularity is mainly with those from the time period OR those looking to see what it was like. (And yes the 1700-1900s were a very.... Interesting time)

🐸Germany is ruled by Aries, again not surprised. Yes it became infamous after WW1, the aggressiveness (Martian) shown is what more people remember it for rather than the arts (Venusian traits). Many painters, composers and even scientists come from Germanic countries but war/aggression is somehow the only thing people remember.

🐸Dracula gives off Virgo vibes. Very critical. A clean freak. Only enjoys the finest things in life and not willing to give up, especially if someone else is the reason why. Very timey.

🐸As much as I'm on Aquarian heads, I feel like Aquarius celebrities show the most human like qualities. I mean they the type to get upset normally, talk as if they don't have large platforms and be generally very open with their lives/fans. They don't follow what it means to be a celebrity but what it means to be a human.

Scandinavia showed how many neonazis could exist on one part of the planet and how not to treat Indigenous people. The Portuguese Royal Family fell off and the government went broke(r).

BACKGROUND

sebastian's story begins in melbourne, australia, born at exactly 3:33 am ... to two extremely devout catholics. their child being born at ( in their beliefs ) a time that symbolized satanism brought great unrest, which would in turn be the very reason they abandoned him just years later. convinced that their son was possessed by the evil entity, or was the devil himself, when in actuality he was just a child who needed to be nurtured, their love turned to hate.

having gone so far as to have him exorcised, it was only a matter of time before they abandoned him, only six years old at the time. dissociative amnesia caused the more traumatic memories and their aftermaths to be lost in the depths of his mind; when he came back, he was in a ward of the foster care system. the life of torment he lived was over, but he couldn't escape the ghosts of it that haunted him, a permanent reminder burned onto his skin in the shape of a crucifix.

they called this child who'd forgotten his own name ezra, which was what he went by from that point on. the rest of his upbringing was spent in the foster care system, relocated more times than he could keep track of, never finding a place to call home, or a family to call his own.

harbouring a reputation, most of his peers thought of him in the same way his parents did. he wasn't an outgoing or obedient child, and his tendency to get into trouble only got worse in his teenage years. the black sheep of each home and social circle, sebastian's life was spent almost entirely alone; his only companion being the stray kitten that wandered the premises.

inevitably aging out of foster care, sebastian was faced with many more challenges. without any guidance or resources, he ended up in sydney with the feline, homeless for some time before getting recruited into a gang. there was much better company to be in, but it got him off of the streets and gave him some sort of purpose. he was, however, a snake in the grass. after a year of doing the dirty work and being shoved around, he sold the gang out, discreetly running off with the funds and taking off to seoul, south korea.

having changed his name before setting off, lee sebastian was finally born, and his life could finally begin. in time, he'd be swooped into the music industry, where he was finally thought of as something other than damned. the group achieved great success, and during this period, he began to explore his gender identity, ultimately discovering himself to be a demiboy, identifying as such going forward.

the waters grew rough late 2016, when symptoms of his very neglected mental health worsened. he began stray from the path and taint his idol image ( a concept that he hated ) – the life wasn't as perfect as it seemed. past habits returned, and substance abuse became a coping mechanism when times were especially tough. soon enough, he'd find himself back in the pits of hell.

bastian's inevitable departure from the industry was explosive and def left a mark. leaving the members behind, just as what had been done with the gang all those years ago ( except staying in touch this time ), bastian all but disappeared as he relocated to anchorage, alaska. while many didn't take what he accused the label of seriously, it came just 6 months before its shut down, following the situation with nikolai's group in 2017.

eventually finding a new place of belonging, bastian became a member of the bastards; the second gang he'd be a part of, but it was far less bullshit he'd have to put up with than the former. anchorage came to be his home, as fucked up and shrouded in mystery as it was, and this time, he wouldn't run away.

HEADCANONS

bastian still struggles with episodes of memory gaps and disassociation, and is diagnosed with a dissociative disorder that he does seek therapy / take medication for, as well as for his personality disorder.

even though he ditched the industry a long time ago, he still makes music of his own today as a creative outlet and is professionally known as bash, though he's more off the radar these days with a smaller but devoted fanbase.

was in a long-term relationship (with some off and on's) with nikolai up until recently. even though they're just friends now, he'll always be his first priority.

personality wise, may come across as cold and unwelcoming at first ( resting bitch face and being covered in tattoos probably doesn't help this ), but below that iciness is just a fucking dork. a grumpy but loveable one. he means well!!! generally speaking, he is easy enough to get along with if you don't mind that he's brutally honest and a little rough around the edges

he is notttt a patient person by any means. impatience is probably one of his biggest flaws, along with impulsivity which gets him in fucked up situations; they don't have time for any bullshit. the type of person to just walk away in the middle of a conversation if it's deemed a waste of time. also has a short fuse. sometimes u just gotta be like let's get u to bed grandpa FDHGJFDH

Well, I’m following my sister’s footsteps to do this. This is what I’m going to do to type about what’s on my mind lately. And sometimes put pictures of.

If you’re new, I’m Sarah Michelle Lyman and I’m 21 years old (turning 22 next month.) I normally watch anime and listen to K-Pop, New wave, and music from the early 2000s.

I’m born in 2001 while my sister Amber is born in 2004. She’s now living in Mississippi with her girlfriend Riley.

When it comes to K-Pop, I prefer boy groups to girl groups. My favorite boy groups are BTS and TXT (or Tomorrow by Together) So I’m an Army and a MOA.

I also liked one of the former members of TVXQ (which is now a duo.) Kim Junsu or Xia Junsu. I personally like him as a musical actor. My favorite from him was being Dracula in the South Korean adaptation of Dracula the Musical. And he has beautiful red hair in that one.

I’m also like his role as Death in the South Korean adaptation of Elisabeth. It’s kind of elusive.

The other former member of TVXQ with a beautiful singing voice (just like Junsu.) is Kim Jaejoong or Hero Jaejoong. Even though he’s not a musical actor like Junsu, His beautiful voice and abs really looks cool.

My bias from BTS is their maknae Jeon Jungkook. But I also like Jimin and V. For TXT, I was hoping to like either Beomgyu or Soobin (cause they have good looks) Hopelessly, Soobin of course.

My favorite anime shows are My Hero Academia and Demon Slayer. I even cosplayed Shinobu for Halloween back in 2021.

The only concert that I’ve seen was Winter Jam (since I’m a Christian.)

I’ve filmed a performance from Skillet from last year’s Winter Jam.

My favorite anime voice actors are Shouta Aoi, Kisho Taniyama, Mamoru Miyano, and Yuuma Uchida.

I normally watch videos involving Shoutan every other Monday. I’m looking forward to celebrating Shoutan’s birthday in August.

i am so thankful for dracula daily for giving me the push/motivation to pick up the book again because i started reading it last year when waiting for my delayed flight to south korea and then never continued it but i DID go on to watch the musical adaptation in seoul which i, granted, didn’t understand much of due to my lack of korean knowledge but i did greatly enjoy analysing light and costumes instead—our boi jonathan harker absolutely BATHED in bi lighting, it was grand

Well, since it's been a while since I've drawn him, a round of Dracula sketches on me!

Plus, decided to do a kissing pose for the very first time! I know it's rough but I think I did a pretty good job for my first time! Just means that after some good practice I'll be drawing them like a pro!

(Plus watching vids of the South Korean production of Dracula the Musical constantly didn't help and is what pretty much inspired me to draw my Prince of Darkness in the first place XD. Loooove the coat 😍)

Happy Halloween! I hope you guys have a fun and safe spooky day! 

Now as a horror fan, I gotta tell you guys, I find the vampire lore in IkeVam a little weak sauce (ok, actually a LOT) lol But I do tend to like vampires as more of the monstrous villains in fiction too. So! in celebration of today kiles is gonna recommend some vampire flicks for you all that love these bloodsucking monsters. Let me know which ones you like and maybe even recommend ones that I don’t have on here! :D

Let the Right One In/Let Me In: both the original Swedish film and its American remake are very good, but I personally find the OG better in both acting and dark tones. The story is about a boy who is bullied by his peers and feels isolated from everyone, meeting what seems to be a little girl and befriends her. But there is more to this girl than meets the eye. I can’t recall there being a lot of warnings in this, but it does have some gore.

The Lost Boys: I love this movie. It’s so 80s lol But the vampire stuff is really fun. That and not only do you have a young Corey Feldman in a duo of kid vampire hunters, but you get a young Kiefer Sutherland running around with a sort of Glam Metal look going on. The story is about two brothers and their mom who move to a California town that wind up getting involved with a group of rebellious teens who turn out to be vampires.

What We Do in the Shadows: This is probably my favorite vampire movie. I love the faux-documentary of this New Zealand dark comedy, and I love the homage to traditional vampire lore. No more sparkling, no more resistance to daylight. The vampires in this movie are done right, in my opinion. I’m more of a traditionalist when in comes to monsters, you see. I almost wish we could get an ikevam version that was more like this, where MC is the person making the documentary filming the boys lol

Nosferatu: The Classic vampire flick from the Silent Era of film. It’s a German retelling of the story Dracula. Count Orlock’s design is perfectly eerie and creepy, iconic throughout media. If you don’t mind silent film and you haven’t seen this one, check it out!

Dracula: And then, of course, there’s the classic film with Bela Lugosi. His Hungarian accent became the go-to for other vampires in later media. It’s pretty close to the book for the most part. At least, it’s as good as most book adaptations that were made back then were (which wasn’t too good lol)

Fright Night: This is another very 80s movie. The main character is a teenager who is addicted to a tv show about a vampire hunter and how he hunts vampires. Because of this, he starts to become suspicious that his new, odd neighbor may in fact be a vampire. There is also a remake starring Anton Yelchin, Colin Farrell and David Tennant that’s.. ok lol

Salem’s Lot: Stephen King’s vampire tale. A man coming back to his childhood town realizes that a vampire is preying on the townsfolk. While this is an older flick that might not be exactly scary there’s some great classic vampire stuff and eerie scenes. Plus it’s Stephen King! 

30 Days of Night: Probably the most horrific vampire movie, where there is nothing redeemable or likable about the vampires whatsoever. The setting of this movie alone makes it terrifying. Set in a northern, remote part of Alaska, an isolated town is beset by ravenous vampires when the town is submerged in complete darkness for one month. Most of the town’s occupants go south for the winter, but those remaining have to fight and use quick thinking to survive. Warning to those who don’t like gore for this one. It’s pretty brutal.

Afflicted: A found footage film about two friends who are backpacking through Europe due to one guy wanting to live life to the fullest before he dies of cancer. Something goes wrong at a party however, and he soon begins to show signs of something... inhuman.

Van Helsing: I know a lot of people don’t think this movie is any good, but I admit I like it as a sort of guilty pleasure. Van Helsing is now a younger vampire hunter that’s sent by the church to help a town in Romania that is beset by Dracula and his brides. It’s got lots of funs stuff like a vampire masquerade ball, a sort of Frankenstein’s monster character, and a fight between a vampire and a werewolf that’s pretty beast :D

Bram Stoker’s Dracula: Though I haven’t seen this yet, the tone, acting, music and cinematography of this movie all look so darkly beautiful. Add a bit of gothic romance, this adaptation of Bram Stoker’s tale is one that I definitely plan to watch soon. 

Thirst: A Korean take on a vampiric story. A priest who wishes to save lives volunteers to be a guinea pig for a vaccine that is being made to cure a virus. But things go awry and he comes back to life as a vampire. Now he has to battle between his thirst and his faith. Haven’t seen this either, but I plan to! Korean films are always a cut above, and if you don’t mind some gore and adult elements, I’m sure you’ll enjoy this.

Others I would recommend: 

Interview with a Vampire, though I don’t really like that movie all that much. You do get a younger Tom Cruise as a vampire though lol plus Kirsten Dunst’s character is surprisingly sympathetic and sad (at least to me!)

A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night: This one’s unique, being an Iranian take on vampires. It’s a slower indie film, about a mysterious girl who only comes out at night and skateboards around a town. I wasn’t too crazy about this one, but it was interesting!

Shiki: I’ve seen three-ish vampire anime. This, Diabolik Lovers, and Vampire Knight. I didn’t like DL at ALL, and I could barely get through the first few episodes of VK. Shiki is excellent, though, if you can get past the odd character designs. I probably would have liked VK better if the story was focused solely on Zero’s character though. 

Vampyr.  This is an RPG actually, but the vampire lore is so dark, bloody and complex. The MC is a doctor that specializes in blood transfusions who comes back to London from WW1 right during the Spanish Flu epidemic. When he’s turned into a vampire by a mysterious sire, he has to find a way to survive while still acting as a doctor and decide if he will kill others or starve.

Prima Donna is an amaze-balls moment in POTO and I completely agree, Miss Angel! I think it's one of the best scenes in the entire 2004 movie. Second only to the opening overture. I know the movie can be a low bar, but still' I "loves" it. What are your favorite Christine costumes? Or "period" costumes in general?

Ok you’re speaking to someone who originally planned to either work in a museum restoring historical clothing or work as a costume designer specifically on period dramas, so if this ends up being a short post it will be a wonder.

My favourite Christine costumes are the Aminta dress and the slavegirl outfit, it’s very difficult for a production to go wrong with either of those. My favourite costume in the whole show are the Sylvan Glade dresses though.

Any of the costumes in Crimson Peak. Any of the costumes in the Sofia Coppola Marie Antoinette film. Just finished a C-Drama, Story of Yanxi Palace, and those costumes were all wonderful (I actually watch a lot of C-Dramas and there’s a lot that have gorgeous, historically accurate costumes, but Yanxi’s my favourite). Just finished the Queen’s Gambit and loved everything in that, though for some reason I always feel weird calling anything set after 1950 “period” even though it technically is. Everything Truly Scrumptious and the Baroness wear in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Gone With the Wind dresses are gorgeous even if the movie is Problematic™️ or whatever the kids say these days (I say as though I’m not in my early twenties).

I love Jane Austen and have seen every adaptation of her books, so like I have a lot of opinions on those. The adaptation with my favourite costumes is the 1940 Pride and Prejudice (and yeah I know 1830s instead of regency but I have my reasons). Also even though it was a really bad show, the 2013 Dracula show had some stunning costumes, unfortunately there were some stunningly bad ones too so it was kinda hit and miss with that show. I also like the green dress Ava Gardner wore in Showboat.

And just to throw in some musicals with great period costumes, A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, the South Korean production of Dracula, pretty much any My Fair Lady adaptation, and Great Comet. I also happen to actually like Cosette’s green dress in Les Mis, both the West End and the Broadway versions. Anastasia also has good costumes even if none of them are historically accurate in the slightest.

So yeah not exactly a short post lol. I just have a lot of Thoughts™️ and judging period stuff on historical accuracy is my favourite pastime.

10 TV Shows to Look Out For in 2020

Dracula This BBC and Netflix co-production holds a lot of promise. This Dracula retelling is set to air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer starting Jan. 1st before eventually landing on Netflix. If it’s anything like other BBC retellings Merlin, Sherlock, and Robin Hood, you can expect to be hooked. However, as the trailer already tells you, this one is going to be a horror. Proceed with caution.

Katy Keene Following Josie and friends as they aspire to make it as artists, this Riverdale spinoff could set us up for the professional appearance of Josie and the Pussycats. Expect to see it on CW on February 6th.

High Fidelity  Starring Zoe Kravitz (Leta from Fantastic Beasts), this Hulu series based on a book by the same name promises a relatable music-obsessed store owner as she navigates life and is set to appear on Feb 14th.

Stargirl This DC original series can be watched on DC’s streaming service and CW starting in the spring. No one knows exactly what to expect from this titular character that inspired the formation of the Justice Society of America to take down villains set prior to our current DC favorites.

Falcon and Winter Soldier This Marvel/Disney+ 6-episode series is currently set to appear in the fall and will explore the life and partnership of the namesake characters in post-Endgame world and post-Captain America’s big decision.

Snowpiercer (Spring) Inspired by a novel and South Korean-Czech film of the same name, this tv show is being produced by TNT and slotted to air in the spring. In a post-apocalyptic frozen world, survivors have been gathered on a train that circles the globe. In this environment, survivors are faced with the question of where they fit in society and where they can find survivable conditions going forward.

Mythic Quest This Apple+ exclusive explores the comedic life of game developers as they manage a popular new release.

Lizzie McGuire (Summer) A continuation of the 2001 TV show of the same name, this Disney+ series sees the return of Lizzie and Gordo as they navigate adulthood. Considering the success of Girl Meets World and Raven’s Home, I’m really excited for this one.

Gossip Girl This reboot will feature a new generation of gossipers, with the same narrator, as they navigate the changing social world in New York after the previous group has graduated and moved on. It is set to appear on the new HBO streaming service along with Friends.

Party of 5 A reboot with a twist, we see the lives of 5 immigrant children upended when their parents are deported to Mexico.

in the darkness, the young looking creature resides, where his dark eyes gleam silver in the night as he peeks through a crack. one would assume this creature of the twilight is some kind of reincarnation of dracula himself- but no.

suga is a pretty normal guy when he isn’t on the hunt though. he usually just chills out and cracks a sarcastic joke that has to do with some pop-culture reference (usually from the 90’s sometimes 00’s). he is a pretty chill guy that can seem sarcastic and uncaring (he only takes his sunglasses off when he cares enough about someone, which makes him seem a little rude at times). he likes leather jackets (because they look cool with his sunglasses) and dr. martens, he loves a good steak and will enjoy some alcohol with it. 

though when he is on the hunt he becomes a ruthless and ferocious hunter that doesn’t care about the social protocols that have to do with the consumption of human flesh. he isn’t a cannibal he isn’t a human. 

in the grand scheme of things, suga is a pretty good guy. not counting the human-eating. if you can look through that and don’t mind the dark sunglasses and him skipping out on trips to the beach. he can be a good friend.

major illusion powers: the boogey can make people see things that aren’t there, it is strongest when he is a) in a dark place and can observe someone from within that space (when he is not noticed himself as such-), b) when the ‘victim’ has a guilty conscience or c) when someone is close to falling asleep or just waking up.  

kidnapping: suga is skilled at the kidnapping of people that are resting through implementing sleep paralysis. the moment he has a hold of you, it is all over and he will drag you through whatever hole he came through. if that means you lose a limb, then that’s that.

realm jumping: he is best at wandering through imaginary realms and mirror realms to see if people are home. when he isn’t wanted he tries to stay hidden. when the boogey is noticed he can be yeeted out within seconds. it is all about being stealthy. 

dematerializing: he can walk through walls, which is very handy for a boogey. he can also get into crawlspaces this way to sleep or wait for his victim to return.

big open spaces: suga has agoraphobia which means he hates big open spaces- no scrap that. he doesn’t hate them he can’t handle them, he gets a panic attack when he can’t escape and will faint.

hunger: suga eats human food but he gets this itch, this hunger for human flesh every month. he needs to eat or he gets weaker and weaker until he becomes a shell of his former self. it has to be fresh though, he can’t just freeze meat and eat it later and while rotten flesh won’t hurt him, he thinks it is disgusting and it doesn’t satisfy the hunger for long. he has to feed every month, and can get irrational and easily irritated when he gets hungry.

what is it like to not know where you begin? what is it like to not know where you end? human life is so easy, humans have a clear start and endpoint. they get born, they have parents to tell them when they were born (or a birth certificate) and they have an insurance to remind them they will die, soon. suga thinks it is laughable, a life like that. he doesn’t need a birthcertificate, he wasn’t born. he just existed at one point in time, his fingers closing around the ankle of a young boy that misbehaved. the child screamed, it screamed and screamed until it could not scream anymore. 

vocal cords, suga had decided, did not taste very good.

he had existed for so long, that he forgets when a parent had first threatened with the boogeyman and he had started to exist. perhaps it wasn't that long ago, it just felt long for him because he lived it. he knew that at one point he became more and more a man, rather than a shade. instead of just resting in the crawlspaces of houses or caves near villages he started to entertain himself with folding papers while he waited for the days to be over. clothed in dirty rags he would wait the days out until he could get his next meal from the surface. from the folding of papers, he went over to venturing out earlier and earlier. enjoying the human world as a participant rather than just the boogeyman. he dressed better, he learned how to talk and how to socialize. his existence became a life as he found a nickname which was suga, because someone described how sweet his wife was (‘sweet as sugar’) and the boogey misunderstood terribly. amused by the misunderstanding and the screaming of the woman who did not taste as sweet as sugar he took the name suga as his human nickname. the name yoongi came from himself, from deep within. it was only for people close to him. 

at one point he had to flee a very angry village, found himself in the trunk of a witch who gave him the second nickname ‘le coffre’. he enjoyed his time in her presence as he could reside in a trunk in her room, and he repaid her with bones for her magic. as all good things, that too, came to an end and the boogey bid her farwell but not forever goodbye for they would meet again, he was sure. 

the world was changing though and suga needed a new place to stay, which is how he got to the academy. he no longer stays inside all the time nor does he dress in rags. he enjoys his job as a clerk for the roses cemetery.

Everland incorporates virtual reality for a spookier Halloween

Technology is ramping up the scare stakes at Everland’s Blood City, with an immersive world of blood-spattered zombies and ethereal ghosts.

VR-equipped visitors can take part in a mission to find a cursed doll, opening bloodstained cupboards in a journey to complete their task.

“It felt as if I was actually inside a haunted house,” a visitor told the Korean Herald.

“The doll looked like Chucky (from the movie Child’s Play) in the VR and the sound really spooked me,” she added.

On the second floor, a VR attraction gives visitors the experience of becoming a witch, riding on a flying broom.

“With VR, we can provide a diversity of immersive content and experiences in limited spaces,” said Park Tae-hyun, senior official at attraction planning team at Everland. “Our VR attractions will continue developing with more thrilling and realistic stories.”

At the amusement park in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, Everland introduced two new VR attractions in 2017 at American Adventure, its IT-themed zone.

This zone is built based on the theme of 500 years of American history, from the time when Columbus discovered the American continent to the 1960s when Elvis Presley, the ‘King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, broke on to the music scene.

Blood City revolves around the story of a research team sent into an abandoned town that has been empty for a decade.

Everland Halloween offering

Visitors to South Korea’s largest amusement park can join the investigation team and battle the zombie apocalypse which threatens to take over the world.

Adding to the enjoyment, a zombie make-up treatment is available from the Madam Zombie Make-up Salon’ at the entrance.

There are also street performances including ‘Happy Halloween Party Parade’ and a magic show, where 50 well-known Halloween characters, including Dracula and a variety of ghouls, are let loose on the streets.
