XIE LIAN BIRTH 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 my #1 fav character to sexualise im sorry but yeah. moving on. genuinely tho at the risk of sounding cringe ive been hyperfixated on xl and tgcf for a good 3-4 years??? and he's had a LOT of impact on me. i kid u not stuff about tgcf make bad days much better especially after these last 2 years when there's been crazy amount of ups and downs. he's literally THE character ever. book 4, the bamboo hat scene, his love for hua cheng, book 2, his entire story and motivations and traits is smth i think about way too much. tgcf has unironically helped me process some of my own shit and inspired a bit more self compassion. and ofc ill never forget the people on this fandom no matter what i say i've found many people i learnt from, Wise Older people, talented artists writers n creators, empathetic friends, ppl with a great sense of humor and friend groups who spend a lot of time with me :] genuinely this is one of the few fandoms ive had tons of enriching friendships in. whether or not i still talk to those people ill never forget. anyway yeah i donf see myself getting out of this hellhole of a tgcf fandom anytime soon!!!!

Where do you see yourself in five years, professionally?
Unfortunately after today probably with a different company. I dont know if its 5 years but I want to be in a position somewhere to be living comfortably but more importantly I want to be making a difference in people's lives. Current company is very much a do this one thing and you get all these cool perks and get to go to this cool meeting and that's cool and all but I'd much rather just be able to have feedback actually heard and know hard work overall is being appreciated and not going unnoticed.

Reading about fucking conservative freaks using "judeo-christian values" to justify their bigoted policies towards queer kids in the education system
Tumblr media
#also im so gd sick of righty xtian types pretending they give a fuck about jews#when what they really want is an excuse to shit all over muslims#it so goddamn transparent its so fucking transparent#“judeochristian” as a term is absolutely foul and just seeks to marginalize muslims#frankly if u wanna talk broad religious similarities you may as well say “Abrahamic”#but if course the whole point of “judeo-christian” is to pry us away from our muslim siblings#if u see someone use the phrase “judeo christian” theyre not necessarily an asshole but its a red fucking flag#when you see a fundie christian talking “judeo christian” values theyre using us as a smokescreen#they dont mean you or i#the only jews theyll tolerate is the likes of alan dershowitz or bem shapiro#and even then their contempt for those allies is very very thinly veiled at least where im standing#sorry im ranty today sorry#dont let ppl rhetorically frame american religious culture as a “judeochristian” coalition against muslims and secularists#its patented bullshit its counterproductive it harms jews and it harms our brothers dont forget#allying us rhetorically with hegemonic xtian values harms us and it harms our brothers and its not fucking true fuck you fuck you fuck you#i see this rhetoric increasing in usage because of gaza#because conservative distaste for jews is trumped by conservative affinity for fascists i suppose#and distaste for Muslims or at least those they can reasonably classify as broadly muslim regardless of actual demographics#this hand extended in friendship is fake its a fucking lie#they want us to turn our backs on our brothers dont fucking do it!!!!!!

Sometimes I want to rant about something small and criticise something I don't have strong opinions about but I also know people have really strong opinions about this (and I don't blame them I can understand them problem is not this) and they are sometimes reply my post (again no problems I love people sharing their opinions to me I have no judgement) but think is they are very angry and I am not and I actually enjoy it and actually we are not in same frequency in our rant here.
Tldr I wanna rant sometimes about small things complain a little and it turns into immediately super negative place while I was mostly not caring soo I can't complain about small things :(
#i feel like comic fans are sometimes so angru and i realised this affects me#like i was fine before not going into comic places i was not a famdom girl for years then i decided to explore#and even lurking it is so so negative#now here i started to post and everything became normal again like i love my mutuals people i follow talking with strangers etc.#even sharing our negative and conflicted opinions make me feel not insane but actually a normal person discussing things#like this person hates my fave okay its normal#but then some topics just creates negativity and i dont want this i also discuss it in normal level without strong feelings#and i can understand strong feelings and i also don't blame people for being ranty in my posts#its absolutely not your prinlem#but also it is not what i wanted kinda#like i dont have that stromg opinions about krakoa anymore i used to be hater but i am enjoying now#but if i write something negative then people who hate it despite it also will come maybe#and i don't blame them i can understand but also i want to continue my media feeling normal about it#sooo i cant rant#without lo pointing this rant is neural and i actually don't feel that strongly#like krakoa kinda sucks hehe post is not means i am going to mail bombs to some men it means just hehe my observation still enjoying tho#but then it turns into so so negative place#oh not my mutuals or people i already talked about things tho like we already talked so being negative don't affect me#because we also be positive together#sorry sorry for long long posts

I don’t usually tlak about this on here (or maybe I do?), but… not to be a hater, but I am seriously incredibly speechless that today on the senate hearing on dreamers they brought a daca-receiving cop to represent us 😭. Legit speechless… a cop… no sorry but that is really like. Is this it? Are dreamers doomed to be complicit with the white supremacist system of INCARCERATION and criminalization that is the very same that persecutes as? And what message does it send to our natural allies against criminalization, colonialism, and white supremacy when we make officers of the state an example of the kind of exemplary and exceptional subject that our community represents? What do we sacrifice when a senator then says work permits could be used to remedy the shortage of police officers? When we bargain ourselves away as the workers and enacters of the state? I like get that in order to get legislation passed, activists make these kind of rhetorical compromises where they might acquiesce to the logics of the state, but it’s hard to feel like those tactics are effective when year after year small (meaningful) but ultimately insufficient gains are made and more and more compromises are made that turn us into a model minority that affirms the very systems we should be striving to dismantle. And I don’t mean to suggest that dreamer activism doesn’t make claims that challenge the logics of the state, I’m very aware of the many documented and undocumented examples (hah) and I DEFINITELY don’t mean to say that undocumented migrant activism doesn’t challenge the logics of the state in general because I’ve seen some incredible critiques come from non-dreamer activism as well, but it’s so frustrating that at the highest and most public level activism is limited to very uncritical language… even if critical ideas are implicitly conveyed. i admire Palestinian activism so much because of how openly anti colonial it is and to be honest I often wish our movement could be the same. I engage in actions in solidarity because it is the right thing to do but also with an appreciation for the truly radical nature of it

so jealous you got to see sabrina!!! love her and her music <3
it was so fucking exhausting considering it was like 30C° outside and we had been queuing since 10am and there were still 100 people in front of us which i NEVER expected :D and then we had to almost wait 2 1/2 hours inside pressed together like sardines with no water for sabrina to show up (the opening act was cool, but obviously everyone was waiting for sab!) legit thought i was gonna collapse a couple of times, but somehow i survived lmao some mishaps happened a long the way which caused my view to get a little worse but i still have good pics and vids i think and the others shared their vids in the groupchat with a little bit of a better view so i can enjoy them if i get sick of looking at mine (idk lol my camera quality sucks lately) it's not the same thing as having recorded the thing yourself but i guess it's still good enough!
i have to say in addition to this that this was the worst venue they couldve ever picked for her, it makes sense for smaller artists since you can't really compare her popularity in america with her popularity in germany but it's a fucking terrible venue especially in summer when it's burning hot out and inside

Not to mention that some people fucking CAN'T vote. Felons. Minors.
And some have their access to voting heavily restricted by societal circumstances, be it racism, poverty, queerphobia, disability, or any number of other factors.
EVERYONE has a right to "complain" about the societal circumstances that are actively doing them harm.
Remember when it used to be "if you didn't vote you can't complain"? I'm very amused that it had now moved into "If you did vote and you're complaining you just don't understand how politics works."

Okay, it is way easier to be your authentic self on the internet with strangers so plz no judgment 👍
But I was hoping to put in a request, which is entirely up to you to do, obviously. I started my period this week and it's really the only time I feel like not myself (I don't have any of those specific gender-neutral boxers so I have to wear panties cause I use pads sorry if that's tmi) So I wanted to request a piece with Darksun comforting a non-binary reader during their period? With like the dysphoria and all that?
Sorry if this is ranty, I don't talk about my gender on here much cause it truly terrifies me but I trust you. (I've also spent the last two days crying while trying to pick out clothes for work. I'm going through it in the most first world problems way I can apparently and I feel silly for it)
Anyway! Sorry again for the rant, I'm nervous and over-explaining. Hope you have a great day!
first of all, thank you for trusting me [I hope I did this request justice, please tell me if I did not]. secondly, thanks for your patience seeing as you sent this back in July 🥺
poly!darksun x non-binary!reader who's on their period [876 words]
CW: non-sexual nudity, discussion of gendered clothing and society, body & gender-identity dysphoria, my first attempt at a non-binary reader so please let me know if I've mucked it up at all
You felt heavy; your shoulders ached, you were bloated, it took all the strength you had just to lift your legs to climb the stairs up to James’ dormitory (why did this school have so many sodding stairs!?) and your head felt like it was quickly filling with cotton as a migraine threatened to take over.
All you wanted to do was fall into James’ bed, maybe curl up in one of his quidditch jumpers, and force Barty to act as your weighted blanket for the next foreseeable future.
So by the time you’d finally made it up to James’ dorm room to hear him and Barty snickering to one another, you felt tears prick at your eyes believing that your dreams of cuddles and jumpers were all for naught.
“Hurry up, they’re going to be here any minute.” You heard Barty hiss.
“Barty, I’m moving as fast as I can but- fuckin hells, Merlin and Morgana both; no wonder they’re so tetchy right now. This is a torture device.”
“It’s not a torture device, they’re knickers.”
“They ought to be banned.” James grumbled. “How come you got the comfortable ones?”
“Green really is more my colour, James. Besides, you look great in pink.”
James let out a sigh that sounded like agreement before he groaned again. “Where’d the string go?”
You heard Barty chuckling.
“Barty, where’d the string go? Stop sodding laughing! Where’d it go?”
You slowly - cautiously - pushed the door to the dormitory open to expose both of your boyfriends standing in the middle of the room, each in a pair of your more feminine knickers and a jumper each.
“What in the actual fuck is going on right now?” You deadpanned as you let your bookbag fall from your shoulder and hit the ground with a thud.
James had the grace to look somewhat abashed, but Barty simply turned and beamed at you. “There you are, my lovely Treasure! How was your day?” He asked as if he wasn’t standing half-naked in women’s underwear.
“Terrible. Barty, what are you wearing?”
Barty looked at you like he was genuinely confused by your question. “What? This?” He said as he plucked at his Slytherin jumper. “It’s my favourite jumper.”
“Uh huh…and the panties?” You continued.
“Well, it’s not really my style to go commando under my uniform, Treasure.” He scoffed.
When it became clear you weren’t getting anywhere in this conversation with Barty, you turned your sights on James.
“What are you doing in..my knickers?” You asked, more than a tad reluctant to take ownership of an article of clothing that left you feeling horribly dysphoric.
“Well…I- we just figured, I don’t know, maybe you’d like some camaraderie?”
“Camaraderie?”
“Well, s’no fair that you have to be uncomfortable all on your own.” He mumbled awkwardly, and you felt your heart squeeze at the sentiment.
“I think they look good on us, no?” Barty asked as he gave you a spin whereas James simply crossed his legs and looked at you worriedly.
“I, erm, I don’t want to turn around. I-”
“It’s okay, Jamie.” You let out with a sigh as you made your way over to him. “You two didn’t have to do this for me.” You murmured into James’ jumper where he had you cradled against his chest.
“We know that; of course we know we didn’t have to do this for you.” Barty agreed readily. “But you’re our sweetheart, and we love doing things for you.”
“We hate that you don’t feel like your best self when you get your period.”
You grumbled as you rubbed your face into James’ chest as if you could physically burrow your way into his sternum. “I don’t think anyone feels like their best self when they get their period.” You argued.
Barty let out a noncommittal hum as you heard him shuffling behind you. “No, but we understand that it causes you some extra hurt, Tres.”
At Barty’s soft tone, you turned to see him pulling back the sheets of James’ bed and holding one of James quidditch jumpers - no, your favourite of James’ quidditch jumpers - though he paused when he saw your face emerge from James’ chest and shot you a sympathetic smile.
“I know…it’s different, and I know that this isn’t really what it’s about, but…us stepping into ‘feminine’ underwear doesn’t make either of us any less of a boy.” James started slowly. “In the same way that putting them on doesn’t make you any more of a girl.”
“Society might say otherwise, but knickers aren’t boys or girls…they’re just cotton.” Barty added, and you couldn’t help but huff a laugh at that.
“Speak for yourself, Barty…” James grumbled as he shifted awkwardly. “Pretty sure mine are made out of devil’s snare; I still don’t know where that string has gone.”
“I love you, both of you.” You blurted; James tightening his hold on you and Barty making a sweet cooing sound from behind you.
“We love you too, angel.”
“It’s true, I never went through this much trouble to help Reg feel better about his periods.” Barty added solemnly as he plopped down on James’ bed and patted the mattress. “Now come on, I plan to rot in this bed alongside you for the next foreseeable future.”

i'm gonna be a ranty bitch for a minute.
tbh i'm turned off even reading new buddie fic despite being a multishipper and have unfollowed a bunch of buddie accounts because i'm sick of the smug attitudes. one ask that i am otherwise not going to publish or respond to ended with 'sorry you don't understand media literacy bestie :)' fuck off. listen INFANT, i have been writing fanfic and original fic AND watching, reading and analyzing queer media since before you were born, i understand how character and story development works, and i know the difference between 'storyline i personally disliked' and 'bad writing.' this was BOTH, and it also was marketed to us as 'carefully crafted bi rep' and 'queer love story that is not about a bunch of pain and conflict FOR ONCE' so we have every right to be upset at the bait-and-switch.
the fact that i'm seeing the same exact posts - 'bt bones buddie CANON' that i saw three seasons ago after the bucktaylor breakup, or every time they thought buck and taylor MIGHT break up - says something. the fact that so many fans seem genuinely convinced (STILL!) that buddie is inevitable because there have been so many 'signs,' and then they rattle off a convoluted theory that would make the most hardcore taylor swift stan say 'wow, that's a bit of a reach,' honestly weirded me out a little when i first joined the 911 fandom. i have never been in a fandom where so many fans are insistent that their ship will be - not might be or could be, but WILL be - canon. i am skeptical both from past experience with other shows mishandling queer storylines or ship-baiting, and tim minnear's proven track record with this one of not really knowing what to do with buck's LI's. but i didn't want to yuck anybody's yum, so i let them have their theories and squee in peace, and unfollowed or blocked certain tags if i was seeing too much of it and getting annoyed. it's too out there for me, but i'm glad they're having fun!
yet they can't give us the same courtesy. they deride us as delusional for thinking that a canon pairing that was presented to us both in promo and the show itself as different and important (eg the bobby approval convo and 'buck getting off the hamster wheel') might last, and we're stupid to have ever liked tommy or lou or be disappointed at how the breakup was written, and if we point out the biphobia it's just sour grapes.
the bucktommy breakup is not the first time 911 has started out strong with an interesting storyline and fumbled it in the 4th quarter either because the writers got bored or in the name of needless drama/a 'gotcha' sudden twist. amir & bobby, eddie's fight club arc, the sperm donor SL, hen vs councilwoman ortiz, whatever the hell is going on with harry, the whole mess with shannon/kim, just to name a few. and especially the past couple of seasons, for me since 6b, the pacing has been off. they seem to have too much happening at once and many of the storylines don't have enough room to breathe to be narratively satisfying, or they get resolved in ways that feel lackluster.
if the toxic buddie stans who have been attacking lou on sm and sending death threats (wtf!) actually get what they want, which i admit is possible, but it's certainly not guaranteed….i don't know why they think the writers won't fumble that just as badly. it's not going to happen precisely the way they want it to because it is impossible to please everybody, that's what fanfic is for. but at this point i have zero faith that it would even be well done at all, and zero trust in the writers not to just sabotage or regress a character for funsies, and that's an excellent reason to stop watching the show. in most of my other fandoms i regard canon as a jumping-off point or a blurry outline at best, and i can have just as much fun in the 911 sandbox without any further input from canon at all, once i'm less angry.

I'm really glad that a lot of Japanese fans are voicing their discomfort with how the manga ended, especially the Todoroki plotline.
The Todoroki plotline really helped me realize that my dad is abusive. I've definitely not had it as bad as the Todofam but it's that domineering, "I'm right and I know what's best", "you're not doing what I/being how I want you to be because you want to upset me" type of thing.
Seeing Dabi expose Endeavors private life to the world was exhilarating!!! You reap what you sew!! Beautiful!
I'm glad Dabi didn't "technically" die but as someone who lives with their parents, idk, the ending of him still being "trapped" killed me and made me feel like maybe I'll never be free.
Sorry if this was ranty and all over the place btw!!
I'm sorry about your dad!
I think what remains still a decent message about the Todofam plot that there are different responses to abuse and victims are valid, their feelings and reactions are valid - with the obvious line of murder and turning that anger to kill or even just hurt people who have nothing to do with it is not ok.
I think the narrative also remains painfully honest that there are no winners in toxic / abusive families - everyone loses and has only the choice to be stuck in the trauma and grief or try to claw their way out somehow.
It also provides some models / coping strategies:
Natsuo who leaves them to start a family of his own,
Fuyumi who struggles for a while to get everyone together, but then resigns and keeps the bonds she can in whatever way she can, but maybe now can start to move on and build a life for herself.
Shouto who makes openings to his parents and watches their actions, who works hard to break the cycle of violence, but in the end bets on his friends / found family to find emotional support and safety as he distances himself finally
And well, Touya - whose anger and holding Endeavor responsible is an important part of the narrative, but also serves as a warning - because while he achieves his goal of destroying Endeavor, he also destroys himself in the process, leaving the painful "what if" questions and the grief of fulfilling relationships he could have sought instead.
I think the story in the end says that for the Natsuos, Fuyumis and Shoutos of this world, there is a way out even if difficult and painful. But for the Touyas of this world, the story in the end doesn't offer much more than to say "it could have been different if your abuser only stopped abusing you at some point" or if someone truly heroic intervened earlier.
And that's not a really encouraging answer.

Reading your anons and your answers I think the problem with those fans is that they only accept a character if it's involved with satoru.
Like, apparently you are not allowed to like Sukuna anymore nor like both yuji and sukuna, but you were only allowed to like AND analyze Sukuna when he was fighting Satoru loool
I'm sorry but Sukuna is more than that, sukuna doesn't need THAT fight to be a character in his own, Sukuna also kept analyzing and having cool moments with other characters, just because your favorite character was dead doesn't mean other things stopped existing. This is one of those cases where fans keep thinking the manga is about some secondary character
hi, anon. thank you so much for this ask. i'm going to follow this up by making an unnecessarily long and ranty post nobody's going to bother to read, but i felt the overwhelming need to go in-depth for this anyways. apologies for the length of this.
to start off, i'm going to point out something that will probably get me a lot of hate or at least criticism from gojo fanatics, but i think it should be said for all those out there who keep twisting jkk to fit their own problematic concept of morals.
so we all know sukuna is the big bad of jjk. he's the main antagonist, the evil cannibal monster, a god of chaos and apathy and murder. i'm not here to argue against this, though. it's been clear from the beginning sukuna is a true villain in all of his actions and beliefs. however, we really need to look at the contexts behind how he became such a monster and consider if he's actually the most "evil" sorcerer/curse in the jujutsu world or not.
i'm going to address the underlying problem with the pro-gojo/anti-sukuna fans who twist the story to suit their own views first.
so gojo was born with a tremendous amount of power, so much that he's been branded the strongest jujutsu sorcerer of the modern age. he literally shifted the flow of cursed energy and from the start was set apart from others. it's truly terrifying how much power he has...
so it's a good thing he's a real sweet and caring guy, right?
if only.
gojo is irredeemably self-absorbed, unhealthily egotistical, obsessed with his own abilities, demeaning and insulting to others, brutal to his students and dismissive of their safety, and more than willing to commit mass murder.
when fighting with jogo, for example, he doesn't seem bothered at all by the massacre of innocent people during their battle, and is even willing to sacrifice bystanders all in the name of winning.
he's displayed this same kind of general apathy for the lives of others in his past as well.
Tumblr media
in his past arc, it was geto who saved gojo from becoming an actual villain and instead managed to set gojo on the path of becoming the slightly less evil antihero he is today. however, after riko's death, the experience turned both of them on each other as they settled on opposite sides of "good vs evil."
without geto there to guide him, though, gojo would have easily lost his way and turned evil .... so where was a person like that for sukuna?
the jujutsu world is extremely heartless and obsessed with strength. the jujutsu higher-ups were willing to kill yuuji - an innocent teenager who just happened to become dangerously involved with the world of curses and the host of sukuna - as well as risk the health and safety of countless others, sorcerers and normal people alike. the whole jujutsu world is full of corruption and cold, cruel people.
but this is just in the modern world - during the golden age of jujutsu, in the heian era, conditions were even harsher and crueler than they are now. during this time, existence for regular people in japan was demanding, quality of life was very low, and so many died of sickness and starvation. the amount of curses that arose from all this suffering was immense and required the extreme powers of sorcerers to balance it out.
this is the context of sukuna's birth. he came into this world as a child of a starving mother and he himself would have starved if he didn't consume his twin in the womb.
during his conversation with kashimo, who asks if sukuna was born with that much power or if he gained it throughout his life, sukuna himself seems to not know. all he can say is... he was an unwanted wretch.
Tumblr media
societal demands and religious fights back then would have led to an overwhelming stigma and dehumanization of anything that people feared or didn't understand... which probably means that sukuna, who was able to be born from the act of eating his own unborn twin, was seen as monstrous from the day of his birth on. and if he was indeed born with such strength and a body merged with that of his twin's, or at least the compacity to become that, he was also most likely villainized for his nature as well.
where gojo was more embraced and highly coveted by the jujutsu world, the world sukuna was born into most likely shunned him and led him to adapt the kind of mindset he has now.
sukuna sees strength as the only means of survival, rising above the cruelty shown to him to become the cruelest himself. this philosophy, which a lot of people at this time believed in - especially in the jujutsu world - shows us that sukuna probably saw his own really option to endure was to become a monster. those at the top are above all the weak feelings and suffering of the ones beneath, after all, or so he believes.
and it seems like so many of the strongest sorcerers still believe in that concept as well. both yorozu and gojo thought they could reach sukuna by challenging him, but in the end... only yuuji ever connected with the king of curses.
(yes i will fit sukuita in here... even if you don't ship them romantically, it's an undeniable fact that their relationship is much more complex than it seems and that yuuji does in fact care for the very monster he's supposed to destroy.)
when sukuna's dying in chapter 268, yuuji makes it clear that he's willing to serve the kind of caring, understanding role in sukuna's life that was most likely never given to him.
Tumblr media
instead of dehumanizing sukuna, yuuji actually accepts that sukuna turned out to be the monster he is and says it was all a matter of chance how they became like this.
this a level of empathy, intimacy, and compassion that someone like gojo (and pretty much the vast majority of jjk characters) could never show. sukuna himself seems at a loss for words for this unbelievably caring treatment from yuuji - he's even surprised enough to use the brat's full name.
and i dislike that fans are starting to twist this interaction between them to make it fit their own views of sukuna and gojo.
look, i like gojo objectively. he's a fine enough character and serves an important role in jjk. i'm not against him or his fans, and i certainly don't want to hurt or make light of other people's feelings towards him. however, i do want to point something out that some fans should really know better. so many antis are against us sukuita shippers and/or sukuna fans and their main argument, over and over again, is how evil and monstrous sukuna is and that gojo is obviously better in every way. they claim that because gojo is on the side of good, it means sukuna is the worst in terms of morals (when villains like kenjaku are arguably just as terrible if not more so but dismissed so easily) we are delusional or wrong for sympathizing with sukuna.
so i would like to say to these people... please stop using these pallid, baseless arguments against us sukuna lovers because they're just so inaccurate and keep misunderstanding the whole story. it's more than okay to have your own headcanons and depictions of a fictional character, whether they're sukuna or gojo or any of the others - but do not force that depiction on others and do not force your interpretation of the source material on us just to appease your own opinions.
please be more respectful to others, please keep your own dislikes to yourself instead of lashing out at other fans you could instead just avoid, and please stop being so mean to gege. whether or not he makes gojo return should not be a reason to spread such hate about him. it's disrespectful towards both him and all writers who work so hard to make the content you treat so harshly.
thank you.

Day 4 of @kaarija-inktober took a turn: the prompt is screaming
Inspired by Menestynyt Yksilö and Kintsugi (putting together broken pottery with gold glue)
So ... welcome to the ranty part of the post.
I have felt like I have been stuck recently. It is not as bad as it was pre-Käärijä where I couldn't sleep due to existential dread and had almost stopped caring about myself and my well being since I was constantly feeling inadequate.
That said my energy (physical and mental both) is fluctuating a lot where I sometime feel like all I can do is as little as possible (which results in me trying to nap and end up more miserable or going to bed way earlier than I actually want just to get the day over with). Artistically while I have some days where I'm hit with the inspirational dogde ball and can create artwork after artwork no problem, most of the time I feel like I am on the verge of an artblock. My gender dysphoria has been a rollercoaster as well going from days I feel like I've never felt better in my skin to days where I haven't felt worse. These emotional peaks are draining me and so when I sat down to draw this prompt and just couldn't get a good sketch going I gave in and decided to make this into a vent artwork. (Sorry to vintage Kä and especially MY for always seeming to get back to them when needing to vent).
So yeah - things are odd rn and not in a good way. I really hope things will turn around soon (maybe I have just reached that part of second teenage hood, who knows?)

since @woofberry-regrets-everything said to rant in tags of reblog I WILL
_______________________________
So in order to do this, I will spilt it into 2 halves. The lyrics and the theme(?). Make it easier to digest, the lyrics I will review will be ones that strike me the most as Parrlyn (I don't wanna have to do the WHOLE song) It is recommended that you listen to the song first so it's better to understand (Over here)
_______________________________
LYRICS
I personally see this song as from Cathy's perspective. Why? Exhibit A:
"I was scared of dentists and the dark" I mean, I think that the dark and dentists put a sort of doubt and terror into Cathy, not enough to scare her, but it's unsettling
Exhibit B:
"I was scared of pretty girls and starting conversations" I mean... self explanatory
Okay so now let's talk about the f r u i ty parts
THE WHOLE DAMN CHORUS I MEAN LOOK AT THIS
"Ah-ooh-ooh-ooh, ah-ahh-ah-ah And they come unstuck
Lady, running down to the riptide Taken away to the dark side I wanna be your left-hand man girl I love you when you're singing that song And I got a lump in my throat <- Screams Cathy 'Cause you're gonna sing the words wrong" <- Also screams Cathy
I MEAN LOOK AT IT. THAT SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING CATHY WOULD SING ABOUT ANNE- ITS HARD TO EXPLAIN BUT JUST LISTEN TO IT
2.
"There's this movie that I think you'll like This guy decides to quit his job and heads to New York City This cowboy's running from himself <- Cathy And she's been living on the highest shelf" <- Anne
This verse parrticularly (I'm sorry it was just 2 easy) strikes me. I can see this as Cathy talking to Anne and hinting about her feelings, "this cowboy's running from himself and she's been living on the highest shelf". "There's this movie that I think you'll like" is soft, but caring, and is willing to share with the other person. Very Cathrine Parr if you ask me. The girl (Kat voice) hurled up in the world/living on the highest shelf is Anne. While Anne isn't particularly rich (Thats Anna's job) she is very social, extroverted, and out there, I hope you get what I mean. She's up and out, Cathy is running and wants to (Another Kat voice) have a connection with Anne.
3.
"I just wanna, I just wanna know If you're gonna, if you're gonna stay I just gotta, I just gotta know I can't have it, I can't have it any other way"
ANGST. ANGST. ANGST. ANNE IS OPENING UP AND IS VENTING THATS SHE'S SCARED OF CATHY LEAVING HER SINCE EVERYONE SHE'S EVER CARED ABOUT HAS LEFT OR BEEN TAKEN AWAY OR THE FEELING WAS NEVER MUTUAL. CATHY PARR IS GETTING A GOLD STAR FOR COMFORTING HER GREEN GREMLIN
4.
"I swear she's destined for the screen Closest thing to Michelle Pfeiffer that you've ever seen, oh"
Do I need to explain? Cathy is just being so passionate about how much she admires and loves Anne
OK UHM THE REST OF THE SONG IS JUST THE CHORUS SO UH-
_______________________________
IDK IF I CAN CALL THIS THEMES
Ok this is about to be hella ranty
The singer seems very shy (and quite frankly is) but as the song goes on they get more "louder" and by the time the Michelle Pfeiffer line comes on their belting it out. Very Cathy Parr. The song is very... DHMIS, it has moments where its a bit foggy and vague and maybe even child-like "All my friend ares turning green; your the magician's assistant in their dreams". I just think it's just so dorky and something that the 2 of them would come up with with. I mean at first I didn't exactly get what the chorus was going on about; I still really don't and thats completely fine. The song is just so child like, chill, full of passion I can't really put into words, and fun to both sing and play. I will repeat this again: it's dorky. So dorky. So very... so very them. Riptide is one of the most over played songs on ukelele (as a uke player myself) and the chord progression is Am, G, C, C. It's simple, and it's amazing. The song has this energy that I can confidently describe as "a loving dork has a crush", which also happens to be how I describe Parrlyn.
_______________________________
TLDR/Summary: Its just so simple, fun, bouncy, and dorky. It has traits that I can easily see Anne and Cathy in. It is the perfect way to describe Parrlyn!
i hope this makes any semblance of sense
I SAID IT ONCE AND I'LL SAY IT AGAIN
Riptide is a Parrlyn song, you can't convince me otherwise
If you ask me to rant on how everything about it just screams Parrlyn, I can and will

I’m putting this here on tumblr, and it’s my theory on nicole from class of 09 and her dad (IT MIGHT BE PROJECTION) (tw: csa suicide)
so nicole is obviously not a fan of guys who play video games or dads or pedophiles. she is very cautious. i think honestly her dad might’ve been grooming or SA-ing her, and she spent a lot of time on the internet at the time before her last move. we see she’s knowledgeable about certain topics that are very internet. like crispins mountain dew or jeffrey’s “backwards picture books” and when she’s talking to her brother at some point he’s like “i thought you said you didn’t like video games anymore” which implies she did at one point, possibly when she was younger. it would make sense if she played with her dad. but if she did and like enjoyed playing games with him you’d think she’d want to carry it over in his memory. and even if she did look happy as a smaller kid that we see in the flashback, you can still live as normal life as possible when getting sexually assaulted as a child. it would also explain why he said it was “nicole’s fault” because my stepdad kinda dropped the same excuse before he killed himself. and she is very good at picking up on bullshit from guys, and you don’t just unlock that. coming to the conclusions she comes to is linked to her experience. and she is surrounded. it also explains her apathy a lot better than her turning cold over her fathers death a little better. could it have been that? maybe. but she honestly is very pessimistic even beyond. even when she wins she loses. and i do believe she’s a genuine sociopath.
sorry if this is ranty!! i’m not editing it <3 also i hope you understand what i mean
