This whole Taeil and now this Kim soo hyun and that late actress situation is showing me that we really don’t know anything about these famous people. So many of them are nothing like they seem when we watch them on screen or when we listen to their music. Every now and then we found out stuff about some idols or actors (not always bad things) which fans had no idea about and then we realize that we really know very little about them and that outside of their lives as public figures, there are relationships that we have no clue about.

I am saying this because I have seen so many taekookers swear that there is no way Tae and Jennie happened and some say this is because they are confident in what they have seen in Taekook but my question is, who really knows Tae enough to know how he behaves when he is in love? Yes some aspect of love and romance are universal but there is always a good chance people are misinterpreting things just because they do not fundamentally understand or know these particular people’s mannerisms or behaviours in different situations. That is why it isn’t advisable to try to read body language of people you don’t know well because there is so many things that affect people’s behaviours or mannerisms and sometimes we really just don’t know them enough to say for fact that we know what each motion or gesture means.

While I think it is ok for people to have doubts about taennie because they found it weird, I don’t think anybody should be dying on that hill that they didn’t date or aren’t dating because at the end of the day how do you know? Tomorrow we might get to find out more about things and I’m not sure anyone wants to end up looking really stupid after swearing up and down that Tae could never date someone like Jennie. I think we should be conscious of that.

I have to say.. I very much dislike how people try to somehow connect ‘not knowing someone’ to (in this case) two celebs (alledged?) criminal behavior. Those are different things. What those men did is heinous. That is what should be talked about and not ‘but we don’t really know who Tae is’. Tae has absolutely nothing to do with those men. You are perfectly able to make your case of not knowing him without connecting it to other people’s criminal acts.

And I disagree. Sure, there’s a lot we don’t know about them. That doesn’t mean that we know nothing though. Watching BTS throughout the years is very different from watching actors in a movie. We have seen them not only in mv’s or interviews, but also in travel shows, during lives, interacting with each other a lot. We have an idea of who they are. We have seen them get annoyed, get angry, get sad, be happy, be mischievous, be proud… we have seen all sorts of emotions and situations. I know I have at least one anon who always tells me about visceral reactions. I like to refer to those as microexpressions. Those are the automatic reactions you cannot hide. Paired with context, I think bodylanguage can tell us a lot. I know there is a lot to say about things being staged and being faked, but for me there’s also truth in them.

I value body language. Body language is more than you make it out to be. We use it at a daily basis. Most of the time you use it without being aware of it. It’s why you know your partner is sad or happy, it why you know your baby is hungry, it’s why I know my kid is lying about not having had candy (🙈). And sure.. there’s interpretation needed. There’s certainly a margin of error. We could be wrong. I just don’t think we are. There’s too much. There’s too much other stuff that also points to us being right.

I don’t think Taennie is fake because of Tae and Jk. I think Taennie is fake because it was a perfect example of a pr stunt. Even if I hadn’t believed in Tae and Jk, I still would have clicked this as pr.

Who cares if we look stupid one day. I certainly don’t. I’m an anonymous person on tumblr. What I care about is Tae and Jk.

Apropos of nothing (totally apropos of something), if you accuse a fan of being a racist, sexist, bigot for liking a fictional character then you just suck. Like objectively you suck.

You misuse real concepts and issues such as fandom racism because you can't stand how other people are having fun with their blorbo.

You post hate in the tags all because someone is interpreting a character differently than you.

You accuse fans of not analyzing a show properly when your own analysis has the depth of a slotted spoon.

Fandom is supposed to be a fun hobby in which a variety of people play with and engage with the text in different ways. We're not all going to agree or even like what the other does. And that's the point.

But if you can't handle that, then at least do the courtesy of not using fan specific tags and stay in your lane.

Stop spreading hate and malicious lies and recognize the harm you're causing.

(and remember: you're not a fucking activist just because you enjoy a show the "correct" way. Go out and do some canvassing if you really want to make change instead of being cringy on Tumblr Dot Com)

I find people who say they want Childe to be "just some guy" really funny. If you even took a second to look at his lore, you would now he's not "just some guy", he's anything but that.

From the lore we have, we know that Childe caught the eye of the abyss and was swallowed by it and taken to the deepest and darkest part of it where he saw the endless possibilities of another knigdom. His presence woke up a primordial beast from its slumber, and it left its traces on him. He was trained by a "sinner" (Skirk). He has an abyssal transformation (Foul Legacy). He knows how to weild every weapon (except the bow, which he is learning right now). He is the only person we know of who experienced a time dilation while in the abyss. He beat multiple fatui men who were far older than him at 14. He became the youngest harbinger. He killed dragons. He's also the only playable character who doesn't have a vision story.

All of the things I have listed expect the primordial beast lore, is lore which we have known since he was released. The funnier thing is this just the surface of his lore. We only have just recently in Fontaine have started diving deeper into his lore. There's still so much more we need to know about him, theres still so many unanswered questions regarding him.

We often talk about not being able to be a hundred percent sure on anything, but I don’t think that is true for me. There are certainly things I am sure about, and I think it’s possibly more than I at times fully realize myself. For instance, I am a hundred percent sure that Jk and Tae find each other attractive on a non platonic level. That does not automatically translate to them being in a relationship ofcourse, but when I do combine that with everything else.. it makes for a pretty solid base.

To me this is clear physical attraction from Tae’s side, and moreover.. I don’t think him sighing and ducking his head is to hide it, but rather resigning to not being able to act on it.

We hear all these arguments about them with girls, but I think it’s things like this, actual visible signs of attraction (and of other significant signs of closeness) that speak for there being more between Tae and Jk. And they don’t look at other members the same way, they don’t act the same with their close friends. And it’s not Tkkrs imagining things, had either of them been a woman and giving the same looks… we’d be having different discussions on here.

@jolapeno started this epic "tootathon" (hehe) so we can all brag ourselves up a li'l. Thanks for helping us spread the love, Jo. <3

I know the tag was for things I've made, but I'm gonna be a sap and say I'm proud of all the lovely people I've met through this fandom and the fun we've had this year. I'm not an outgoing person by nature, I tend to lurk and stay on the sidelines, but I went from reading fanfic by mind-blowingly talented writers to actually chatting with them and making friends and that's an amazing feeling. So thank you for sharing not just your work but yourselves and being so welcoming and kind to this fandom newb.

OK, mushy stuff aside, here are my favorite fanfics from this year, in the order they were written. I'll say I'm proud of every single fic I've written but these ones are my extra favorites (please don't tell the others, they're tender-hearted babies).

One Day at a Time - Knocked Up, but make it *post-apocalypse*. I just needed to imagine Joel holding a baby so I wrote a whole fic around that premise.

Walls of Glass - Ellie and Joel deal with the aftermath of Silver Lake as they overwinter in an old, small-town library. They even have a lil Christmas together.

Looking for the Light - Joel has a rough night with baby Sarah.

i know you by heart and who knows where the time goes - I'm including both because IKYBH Joel/Ezra captured my imagination and my heart, then the one-shot follow-up practically wrote itself and I love how it came together. I'm still writing for this universe in my head all. the. time.

haunting me - Joel is a ghost. Particularly proud of this one because it's a slightly different style from my other work, and I think I captured Joel's inner voice pretty well.

Q. I'm sorry your inbox was such a mess yesterday. I understand the need to block people after a while, but please don't close your inbox. Your blog and others really do provide a service for those of us who sometimes just require a little more explanation.

A. Hi, anon. Yesterday was a lot for my inbox. I had over a hundred messages and the vast majority were freakouts over an interview that just simply did not do anything to cause that kind of chaos. There was just no need for people to have spiraled like that. It was a really lovely interview and I was shocked by the amount of people who flat out missed everything he was saying, and then had the nerve to get upset at those of us they were asking for help from to try and understand it.

It is a given that there are going to be people upset about the direction the storyline appears to be going, that's true of anything people watch. But I am stunned by the number of people who genuinely seem to believe that they can just say 'no that's not what's happening because that's not how I interpret the scenes' and then have the audacity to say that everyone who is allowing the actual text to lead their opinions are simply bullying them. I had several messages yesterday accusing me of trying to bully people into agreeing with me because I refused to accept that everything is open for individual interpretation. That is simply false. It has never been true. Yes, people see things differently. And people can have differing opinions but when one side of the conversation is supported by the actual text and canon facts then that side is allowed to tell you your interpretation is not supported by what we're actually seeing. That's not bullying people. Of course people can choose to ignore what they're not enjoying but not liking it and deciding to ignore it doesn't stop it from being true. It's absolutely bonkers to me how many people keep saying things like 'it's not happening because none of them are saying outright this is the direction we're going'. That has never been something television shows do and it is beyond wild to me that there's a group of people screaming that if they don't say it out loud then we're just lying because we want it so badly. I have never encountered anything like this in all my years of fandom. There's always been antis. They exist in every fandom. There's always been people who watch and engage simply to hate on things. None of that is new but the amount of people who have convinced themselves outright that as long as they don't see it that way, or refuse to acknowledge it, means it's not happening, and everyone else has to agree with them or we're the actual problem, is absolutely wild to me. Everyone can have an opinion. You can believe what you want. But the truth will always be that the argument most supported by the actual text of something is the 'opinion' that's most likely the correct one. That doesn't make us bullies. We're not going from inbox to inbox yelling at people for refusing to acknowledge what were actually seeing on screen. People can pretend they don't see or understand something all they want. No one can prevent that. But if you're coming to ask us to explain something or help you understand why we're saying something and we offer you canon proof to back up what we're saying and you come back immediately after and argue that none of that means anything because Ryan didn't say Eddie is gay in and in love with Buck in an interview is a whole other level of insane. That's never been how any of this works. And what's even more wild is that most of you supposedly want them together so the fact that there's all this canon evidence to suggest that it's going to happen and you still want to find ways to yell that it's actually not happening is an exercise in self infected misery and I'm simply not going to help people do that anymore. I'm more than happy to explain things if I can to people who just genuinely need a little bit more help, that happens and that's fine. I'm more than happy and willing to do that. But going forward I will not be engaging with anyone being intentionally irrational and deliberately obtuse. I'm not doing that to myself anymore. It's been almost a year and I'm exhausted. What we've been getting is genuinely exciting and I want to enjoy it, all of it. Most of us do and we've earned the right to enjoy this. Come be part of the excitement if you want, but no one is forcing you to be here. We've reached the good place. Let us enjoy it, and let yourself enjoy it. I have no plans to close my inbox. I'm just going to stop answering certain things. Thank you for the lovely message, anon. I'm always happy to talk about it and them, to anyone who genuinely wants to talk. 🩷
