Mephiles the Mind, Iblis the Heart

Basically a breakdown of how I interpreted 06 but also a foundation I use for all my AUs.

Mephiles is highly intelligent and apathetic while Iblis relies on emotion and is more like a wild animal. Mephiles does not have full access to Solaris' time powers, but Iblis does. However, Iblis does not have the mental capacity to actually use them.

Things that are less “interpretive” and more “theory”:

In the original timeline, the one which led to Silver’s future, it was Elise’s death which released Iblis. Because the seal was broken improperly, Mephiles could not recombine with Iblis. Therefore, he would need to look for a different way, but he can’t with Sonic being there and being an obstacle (not while Mephiles is still weak). Hence why he brought in Silver—a powerful hedgehog determined to save his future no matter the cost—who is also a completely new factor to change the timeline. Silver would keep Sonic busy while Mephiles figured out how to properly release Iblis… Since letting her die didn’t work last time. When Silver began figuring out the charade, Mephiles didn’t care enough to try hard with his manipulations, especially if it meant Silver would help keep Elise alive. However, once Mephiles realized the way to release Iblis was via an extreme emotion from Elise well… how convenient that the Princess grew attached to a certain blue hedgehog. Turns out killing Sonic really was the key all along. And if you want something done right… you gotta do it yourself.

Essentially (to explain Mephiles’ weird planning in canon), Mephiles did not know the seal was reliant on Elise’s emotions in the beginning, so he sends Silver to distract Sonic while he figures out how to actually free his other half. How ironic that killing Sonic is indeed what needs to happen. Mephiles basically has a “wait, it’s actually that simple?” moment

The strong emotion can be anything—grief, anger, joy, fear—it just has to be strong. Like a “consuming your mind” kind of strong.

The original explosion which killed Elise was too sudden for any strong emotion to pop up. (Even in her last moments, she had faith Sonic would save her.)

Mephiles is the mind while Iblis is the heart. Only once combined does Mephiles—or Solaris now—actually feel feelings. However, Solaris is still adjusting after the disoriented episode of being literally split in two and so acts completely on his anger toward mortals for taking advantage of him.

At the end of 06, Solaris isn’t destroyed but rather is scattered/subdued, and everyone will already be long gone by the time Solaris’ pieces are reunited. Like “after Dark Gaia and Light Gaia have restarted the planet” kind of long time. They are gods after all. Time is different for them.

The rest of this is sparked from my “Trinity Gods” fanon. Aka, Gaia, the Master Emerald, and Solaris are the three gods who created Earth, as well as any planets prior to Earth. The Master Emerald is also called “Mother Chaos”.

While Gaia slumbers, Mother Chaos and Solaris watch over the planet to protect it. During Earth’s creation, Mother Chaos took on a physical form (ie. The Master Emerald) to live on Earth amongst its creatures. Curious about all Mother Chaos learned whilst living amongst mortals, Solaris decided to also take on a physical form and live amongst them. However, this meant limiting his ability to see the future—or rather which future would come true. Thus, Solaris did not see what the humans planned on doing with him until it was too late.

Gaia and Mother Chaos are A-Okay with Solaris destroying the planet. I mean, it wouldn’t be the first time one of them has, after all. It’d be a bummer for it to end so soon, but they can just make another one. It’s because of this that they don’t interfere with Solaris’ plot… as well as the fact that their creations had hurt their friend.

It’s also this familiarity that means the Chaos Emeralds will so easily obey Mephiles. Doesn’t matter who posses them or if they’re on the other side of the planet, if the gods call, they answer.

Traumatizing the garbage out of Sonic in this au

First post, of course I had to do one of the main protags of this au and the ship that kinda started it all - Silvamy, aka the Rose family! (yes all the kids have amy's last name, more on that later.) Lets get into this sweet yet spicy fam. Silver T. Hedgehog

Age: 42

Occupation (Disaster Relief Specialist/ Timestone Guardian)

Extra Notes - still not fully satisfied with silver's older design, I think its because he's supposed to feel out of place amongst the present day sonic cast to really sell the futuristic aspect, i scrolled through a ton of silver au fanart to get inspo because i was stumped and didn't want to just slap some scruff on him and call it a day, especially since he joined the guardian of powerful gems club with blaze and knuckles (still working on the kinks but basically eggman nega survived his entrapment in the chaotic inferno, found out about the timestones and made little big planet the new holding ground for an infantile infrit, slowly working on "raising" it so he can subjugate the past, present and future and accomplish what his forefathers have always lacked - world domination and an another race against time to save the future ensues.) - Silver is now the guardian of the time stones and got an boost in psychic power and I wanted to give him an indicator similar to knuckle's crescent mark or blaze's forehead gem hence the teal markings. He has pulled an captain america and now safely stays in the past with his wife and kids and works similar to the zone cops of the archie comics but way more powerful and freelance. he also helps out with natural disasters like earthquakes or tsunamis thanks to his upgraded psychic powers. To end on an literal fluffy note, his wife and kids love the extra chest fur.

Amy Rose

Age: 40

Occupation: Event Planner/Fitness Trainer (Part-Time)

Extra Notes - pretty happy with amy's design, wanted to do something different from the long-haired cottagecore amys for sonamy fams, not knocking them - they work well for that dynamic but amy has an trio of very unique kids to parent, an time traveling husband and spends her days dealing with picky customers for all sorts of events and still find time to occasionally teach self-defense class and yoga to young women, she needs to be ready at all times. I wanted to go for an more casual and classic feminine nicole watterson vibe (yes, she is hiding muscles under that sweater dress :P.) - kudos to anyone who can get why she has 

glasses! I think the half-moon ones really suit her!

Zenia Rose

Age: 15 (Born May 23rd)

Powers: Enhanced durability, Enhanced senses, telekinesis, minor chaos energy manipulation, empathetic sensing/linking/inundation, minor telepathy 

My precious cinnamon roll! Zenia was the first serious sonic oc I ever made so I wanted to do her justice! She leans alot more towards her father in terms of appearance, power set and personality being a bit of an socially awkward and humble overthinker but she has her mother’s big heart and very caring and optimistic outlook on life, her parents nurtured her powers and her emotional capability in equal measures and thus she’s pretty well rounded in expressing and understanding the feelings of herself and others, though she tends to get more overbearing with those she’s close with, all round an very feminine girl next door archetype. As far as design goes, I wanted silver’s vibe but amy’s coloring and clear fashion influence with a dash of zenia’s more natural and graceful preferences, so pastels, frills and flower motifs were a go. I’m pretty proud of the idea of how to mimic her dads - lets say, “unique” quill style but make it more feminine so I took the spines at the back of silvers head and moved them to the front to be curtain-like bangs to always give her an demure look and then enlarged and curled his crown of quills and pushed them back behind an headband to give an bump it style, the rest is an homage to those long haired amy designs I mentioned earlier! She looked a lot like amy’s original design when she was an bab. Also her powers are a spring green instead of a teal like her dads because they are weaker and more emotion based. Silver personally made her energy cuffs and couldn’t say no when she asked for an flower design as the insignia. 

Auger Rose

Age: 8 (Born October 10th) Powers: Enhanced durability, enhanced senses, tarot card manipulation, minor precognitive ability (boosted when using tarot cards), minor chaos energy manipulation, acrobatics. Auggie! The quintessential middle child and only boy of the family - Auger’s family never makes him feel left out which he appreciates but he appreciates his own solitude and doing things at his own pace more. Silver initially worried that his own former solitary ventures in his once ruined timeline or even the powers hes gained from the time stones themselves has re-emergence in his son especially when auger revealed how he gets  flashes of the potential future sometimes but eventually amy and silver realizes thats just how their kiddo is, he’s not trying to be standoffish or emotionless, he just does and expresses things differently and thats okay, auger knows his family loves him and he shows the same affection in his own subdued way, plus his sisters keeps him on his toes and lets him shine when need be. Augers design is an mesh of forgotten concepts or concept arts of amy and silver, I always wanted to bring back amys tarot card abilities since thats what technically got her into the main cast plus they are an fun way to connect silver and amys dynamics and personal goals into their kid. I ripped off the hair design from my first actual sonic oc - Specs the hedgecat and tweaked it a bit to fit more inline with auger’s personality - ie tamed but not stuffy. Augers eyes are perpetually half-lidded for an myriad of reasons and he always has that waist belt with him as it carries his own special deck of tarot cards. Can’t remember how I came up with his fur color, He’s an autumnal baby with his twin sister so I just rolled with that I think.  Fun Fact - Auger is a tool with a helical bit for boring holes in wood and is an personal play on the word, Augur which is the ancient roman practice of observing birds to interpret omens! Maple Rose

Age: 8 (Born October 10th) Powers: Enhanced durability, enhanced senses, enhanced strength, piko-piko hammer, acrobatics, spindash, homing attack

The baby of the family, auger’s twin sister and probably the reason amy and silver stopped at three kids. Maple is the wild child of the trio and took all of her parents headstrong traits and cranked them up to 11, having a very strong sense of justice and action taking but oftentimes leaping before she looks. The type of child to constantly be sulking in the principal's office because she fought with another kid who was being a jerk, pouting not because she’s sorry but because she’s getting in trouble for something the bully started. An tomboy playground protector if you will with tons of energy to burn and big dreams to fill. Amy wonders semi-fondly if this is adorable karma for always wondering what a child with sonic will be like as her little girl looks up to the blue blur immensely and wants to be the next big hero of her generation. Amy severely regrets the day she let sonic teach maple how to spindash (fun fact - she’s the only one of her siblings who can do it successfully!) and both her and silver are still trying to figure out how to explain their decorated history with sonic without the girl jumping to fantastical conclusions, this coupled with the fact maple carries her mothers legacy of the piko piko hammer and well…knee pads, helmets and bandages are always running out at the rose household with maple playing hero. All in all however, Maple is an loyal friend and while she can be pushy at times, tell her to back off and she will, having two more soft spoken siblings has certainly helped tame her more out there ideas and tendencies. Design wise - maples coloring was to complement her brothers but I headcanon amy’s father as being an red hedgehog so took that and mixed it with silvers darker hue to make that maple sap color work and I takes cue from the classic rough and tumble troublemaker kids of old cartoons, tooth knocked out and everything as well as using silvers unique quill shape to have the excuse to emulate maple leaves for her hair, always has some form of bandage or dirt on her no matter how many times her mothers tries to keep her clean.

The final part of this long and kind of messy infodump of the AU. I thought I might as well make this a quick one and clear up any plot holes or questions, mostly regarding to the last part.

What happened to Quinn? Quinn, the real one, was able to break out of the cage thanks to either Luno or Bean during the whole scuffle. She's now living on her best life that she needs and deserves.

What about Nerine? Valentina? Well, Nerine is still wondering about and much like with Monik, I do intended on saving her for future use. Valentina would just be living on and carrying out much like the Rabbids were. I will admit that I have some underutilized characters or even some not used at all, mainly because I was really trying to make a conherent story. I'm not much of a storyteller but it was an attempt.

Trivia Time, I guess ✨

- I was going to have Monik go under as "Kiki" until I figured that her shapeshifting to resemble Quinn would be the better option.

- Monik actually did use to have the symbol before Ashlen was created. She had long since discarded it once she had defected.

- Silverline Haven does have witches along with a few others, which is why there are effective potions within the village. Speaking of witches, The Newt Family does have a connection with them in some way a long time ago.

- Gnarr can actually see in the dark and can jump across great distances. He has a temporary "nightmarish form" that only appears when under extreme circumstances. He also has sensitive hearing and a strong bite force, both from mom and dad respectfully.

- When the heart is finally repaired, the now-reformed dark fairies would have to take the longest recovery due to how long it was. Elise doesn't necessarily reunite with any of them but she does hopes they will finally fond the peace they deserve.

- Bean and the other goblins actually have their own unique language which composes of growls and such. Dracogriffs also have their own language as well.

- Luno (and the newts) do take from actual newts for that they don't really do so well in colder temperatures and such.

- Cutlypso's hair is actually made out of bendable razors and are very sharp to the touch. Nerine's is the same. I just really wanted to design Cutlypso and Nerine to just be walking razorblades, basically.

- Ashlen's hair can actually glow if she's all powered up from red lum energy. She can also turn into an inferno thanks to the fire lum given to her but it has specific requirements and it drains her energy. She uses it in the final fight as I like to imagine.

- Also yes, Ashlen can use the combat fatigues, they so exist in her world ofc. Though, she would much rather not touch anything that is hoodlum-made (unless it's something like the Armaguiddeon, she pretty much asked Gnarr if she can keep it).

- Zaa-Laa has one of the best hugs and is very supportive. She is also very strong; this is mainly a hc of mine that her species are just naturally very strong. Gnarr's strength is noticeably or at least a tad bit weaker than his mom's due to being a hybrid and all that .

- Sally was going to have a full name: Sally Lag, which is suppose to be a play on "scallywag". Sally is a super quick inventor / mechanic, not sonic-quick but noticably. Please don't underestimate her skills.

- Another idea was that I was gonna have Ashlen coat her hair in soot and ash as a way to trick hoodlums to thinking that she was turned when they went to come get her after talking with Willow. I'm not sure if that made any sense but eh,,

Some more stuff:

I really did want to add or change more stuff, such as wanting to give André more of a looming presence before Ash finally meets him in person since André is also an overarching villain up until that point. I also did plan on making some headcanon voices for the characters (or at least, the more major ones). I will make that as an update here when the time comes. In fact, mostly any of my excess ideas regarding the au is just gonna be thrown here.

Shadow : So with Black Doom, being only the relative in the family, fueling his hatred against Mobius, The Death God Grim manage take his soul away and sent him to the inferno, just to believe that the villains in our universe were always full of stubbornness since the ancients arrived on the planet. But with the Black Arms Invasion coming to an end, who's responsible for this madness that harmed Mobius to fuel the hatred between humans and Mobians, and even intergalactic beings?

Sonic : You alright there, Shadow? What's bugging ya?

Shadow : Oh, nothing bothers me. I was thinking about the incident since the Black Arms invasion. That "other" incident.

Sonic : What? You talking about the Gizoid incident back in 2003? That incident was Eggman using Emerl to put Mobius in danger after his weapon on the death egg was destroyed. But I now remember that I realized he was reincarnated into that Gizoid back in 2004. It hasn't been like this since the Dreamcast era ended in 5 years.

Tails : Hardly to tell you guys, now you thinking about these incidents we're starting to kicking it up a notch. But in the real world AU, the Space Colony ARK is in really hot water right now, when this declaration of war is going to destroy the world, but we do know is that the Real World AU is being collided with the Ohkuboverse and it could really rip through the fabric of space time. However, that's only a facade.

Knuckles : A facade? Heh, what is this, Neo Contra from 2004? All I'm saying that this Soul Eater nonsense is blowing everyone's mind since their show had failed due to the unknown circumstances at Square Enix. We don't know what was Japan thinking that not all Japanese animation we're failures, but the studio did a pretty good job on the reboot of Fullmetal Alchemist. In fact, I got the voice of that Flame Alchemist Colonel Roy Mustang. What new voice did you get?

Sonic : I got Roger Craig Smith, that did Batman and Chris Redfield from Resident Evil.

Knuckles : Well, I guess Egghead still have his voice since 4kids had him dropping the balls of being the Mike Pollock guy. No wonder his old voice sadly passed on since he voiced in one of those games in the old days.

Sonic : Way to hang it. It's been like this since the Olympic Games with Mario to defeat our respective foes to save Canada and London. I wonder what's he up to now? (Mario appears on the screen)

Mario : Good evening, Sonic. How is my rival/smash fighter friend doing on stopping the conflict?

Sonic : Oh, hey, Mario. Yeah, yeah, there's a war going on. What's the sitch? How's everything going on in the war zone?

Mario : Not to worry. You see we had a problem back at Nintendo in 2009. But since you made the agreement of becoming a Smash Fighter along with Snake, we decided to give you information on that Square Enix representative. This Maka Albarn we interrogated with, isn't appeared what she used to be. Turns out that she was actually a disguised form of someone that looks alike her. (Shows a photo of Bendy and his lover Inky Albarn in a black dress)

Sonic : Who is that?

Mario : This one on the left is cartoon legend Bendy the ink demon, and over on the way right here is his ex-lover, Inky Albarn, or should I say the Demon Queen of his world!

Sonic : So, the protagonist of Soul Eater is...(flashing images of Inky wreaking havoc and attacking people)

Tails : A fake! So the protagonist of Soul Eater was actually the queen in disguise? How did you know she was Bendy's former love?

Mario: Because the bratty teenagers from Soul World were bamboozled by this imposter who was trying to conquer the real world in inky darkness and enslave all of mankind. But poor, poor, old Bendy and friends could not take his lover's evil ways anymore. So to put a stop to the queen's reign of terror, he helped the technicolored toons Cuphead and his companion Mugman to defeat her instantly and therefore imprisoning her underneath the studio that is responsible for the creation of Bendy's world and was remained sealed away. Until now...

Sonic: So, a couple of colored toons managed to defeat her and eventually saved the world of toons and the real world itself. So what happened after her himprisonment?

Mario : However, not all things were going great in Real World AU. So, since her defeat, the queen discovered that a man named Atsushi Ohkubo wanted a new Japanese manga after Shotaro the Dokeshi's tale has mysteriously reached his end and named the title Soul Eater, a title that he got it from the weapon wielded by PSO NPC Kireek.

Sonic : That's not how it happened, you know what really after her defeat, Inky Albarn had stood underneath the Studio of Bendy's World for a long time, but before the 21st century hits, the queen had an idea of getting the perfect disguise, by becoming the hero of Soul World as we all know it!

Shadow : And not to mention it, the queen had framed the "real" Maka Albarn in her demon form to cause the incident that took place back in the 2000s. But to prove her innocence, Grim the mobian death God had no choice but to help her out and set out on a request to find the queen to put up her wicked ways against humanity!

Sonic : I gotta agree with it to you, Shadow. It's much more than that to stop a demon's reign of terror that could easily destroy the world, the real world.

Mario : So, do you agree with terms of using the powers of the Chaos Emeralds? And I will offer you a smash ball if you don't mind.

Sonic : So much for shadow of being a stuck up assist trophy. And I only have one arrangement song for Angel Island that Senoue always forget, but you're absolutely right about that, we'll use the power of the emeralds and take down the queen itself!

Tails : Meet us there!

Sonic : Come on guys, we got some baddies to take down, stopping their reign of terror, and kicking their butts!

Knuckles : It's only a matter of time before Neo Metal Sonic plans to take over the real world, we don't have much time left before the planet is done for! Then I'm right with you guys!

Silver : Don't forget about me!

Sonic : Silver, you're going with us too?

Silver : Look, back in rivals, I just wanted to apologize how harsh I was back then, and I had to help you defeating Solaris, that turns out to be a science experiment that went out of control.

Knuckles: Hey, remembered Espio helped you out on defeating the ifrit? That monster released by Eggman Nega was it? Grim manage to help you and Epsio to track down that nasty descendant of his, who knew capturing Chao to feed the Ifrit was about committing Chao genocide? That Eggman Nega fella sure knows his place.

Sonic : Mario, you got yourself a deal. We'll put an end to this conflict once and for all! Just leave the world to the fastest hedgehog there is!

Remnants of the old world: Heroes

(note: this post is effectively a redo of this one, updated for the current incarnation of the main AU)

Centuries before the Shattering, scientists on the Western Continent were faced with a problem; they were losing against the Skrall empire, who used gigantic kaiju-like machines called Steed Units to attack cities, and humanoid Star Units for ground-level combat. To combat these machines, the Voya City Science Coalition created Heroes; mechanical warriors that could be deployed whenever a city was under attack, with each type designed for different situations. As the Skrall engineers started incorporating workarounds for each attack-type, more Heroes were created to deal with them. Eventually, the technology was refined to create the versatile biomechanical beings known as Bio, although Hero units were still used for the rest of the Magnan civilisation's existence, and even post-Shattering, some villages are protected by modified Heroes.

The different (pre-Shattering) Hero types are:

Storm (white) - Wield cryogenic weapons, which they use to freeze Steed Units' joints.

Bulk (gunmetal) - Heavy melee units, good at fighting the smaller Star Unit classes.

Stringer (black) - Experimental units that carry frequency-disrupting sonic blasters that can temporarily deactivate Star Units.

Inferno (red) - Small and agile units that use high-temperature blowtorches to cut through the armour of Steed Units to expose their internal mechanisms.

Surge (blue) - Support units that carry recharging paddles that can also be used to extract energy from Star-classes.

Breeze (lime-green) - Infiltration specialists, designed to enter Factory-class Steed Units and shut off their unit-creation capabilities.

Nexus (orange) - Effectively mobile signal towers, which boost the range that Heroes can communicate in.

Evo (yellow) - Adaptable, and can use any other Hero's weapons (as well as some Star Unit ones), albeit with less proficiency.

Rocker (gold) - Basically giant Bulks, designed for fighting the humanoid Brawler-class Steed Units.

Thresher (olive-green) - Snipers.

Nebula (dark-blue) - Support units that build teleportation gates to let more Heroes through.

Fortress (light-grey) - Recon units.

Valor (teal) - Experimental civillian-use security drones; development stopped due to the creation of Toa-class Bio.

Hunter (reddish-orange) - Modified Breeze-type units, equipped with tools that allow them to steal the power-sources of Steed Units.
