it kind of sucks when all your friends and family, everyone you know, are all pairing off and getting married and havinf families, except you. you're the only one that doesn't have a partner and probably can/will never get one. especially if one around you has time for you anymore, they never reach out, never get back to you, because they're only focused on their partners and families. you're stuck alone and drift away from everyone through no fault of your own. you have no hope of finding your own partner or no motivation to look for one for whatever reason. the lack of connections while seeing everyone around you having their own can get overwhelmingly lonely at times....

• Before you be with 6, the first thing he mentions to you before being in a relationship with him is that he warns that he may not be able to satisfy the requirements of being with you at all times, due to the fact he’s busy with work and being a leader, and such. As long as you’re fine with this being so, then it’s okay with you two to be together.

• It’s not easy to tell if Six is stress, but when he is, he is more quiet than usual. One thing he seeks the most is quietness, often going into his sitting room just to recharge himself. Its advise to not bother him during these times. Though sometimes he looks for you to calm down with. You two sit in the room with just pure quietness, talking occasionally but not for too long. The silence is nice enough for it not to be awkward.

• PDA is a half yes, half no for him. 6 is a leader and has duties to fulfill, and it would be a huge embarrassment if some follower of Apeiron happens to see you two kissing or cuddling. Hand holding is fine on occasions or when in large crowds, but he will slip his hands away sometimes to get a scroll or just out of instinct. He won’t resist if you try to hold it again either.

• 6 Likes quiet cuddles. They’re warm and can make him sleepy. Most times he likes having you in his arms, but there are times he likes it to be reversed, only for a moment though.

• Kisses for him are quick pecks on the forehead, cheek, or lips. If you want a long one, it’s usually when he’s sleepy or occasionally. It may be awkward at first but you both will adjust to it.

Zima will send his bird (who is also named Zima) to give you his work to review and give your opinion of. When you’re done, it flies away with the work and goes back to Zima to tell your thoughts.

• Corresponding with the last headcanon, Zima will start to get the courage to give you the poetry in person and listen to your thoughts on it right there and then.

• Sometimes Zima has you sit near him as he writes because your presence keeps him focused, and he can really express his feelings in his writings that way. During those times, you notice an extra pen and more paper on the table, a little hint from him that you can write something with him.

• PDA is small when it comes to Zima. He likes to hold your hand during walks in the forest, and sometimes rests his head on your shoulder when you two sit down against a rock or tree trunk.

• Likes hugs from you sometimes. He will feel awkward or uncomfortable at the start of the friendship/relationship because of him being so used to having a personal space, and being alone.

• He will teach you Russian little by little but will overthink on how to do it, like does he teach you alphabet? Phrases? It’ll be too overwhelming for him.

"wait hold on ... what do you mean with Jimin?" your voice sounded confused and your eyes searched for an answer in the fairies face.

at the same time the fairy snapped with her fingers which caused jungkook to freeze on the spot. this whole situation was more than strange. after she was more than sure that jungkook was really frozen in time, the fairy finally started to speak as she flew over to the documents.

"listen carefully. jimin isnt such a nice guy as jungkook might had thought ..."

"what do you mean?" slowly you followed her as she hovered over a specific document.

"you probably wondered why there is no valid information about jungkook in your time ... i might know the reason"

with one of her bare feet she landed on the family tree document. it wasnt jungkook's, it was jimin's. her little fingers traced the letters of Jimin's family name before she looked back up at you again.

"after we took jungkook with us .. i went back to the exact moment. then i saw it ... the man let go of jimin but not to take him with them. they looked confused ... and mentioned how they should kill him now"

with a confused look on your face you reached down, picking up the paper carefully "... dont tell me ... Jimin's ancestor was the one who betrayed Jungkook in the past."

"exactly ... and this name proves it" light like a feather the fairy landed on your shoulder, pointing to a name in the family tree "he married a woman with the surname Min ... and the Min clan were the ones attacking the village"

if that was true everything started to make sense. the reason why jungkook's name was erase from every single historian website, why jimin's family hid those documents on their attic. they made sure that nothing of that would see the light of day. but another question remained; was Jimin the one who killed Jungkook underneath that tree? was he really able to murder his best friend?

for a short moment the fairy started to think "keep him here. at least for now. they already think he got taken away by a witch. they are all searching for him. its safer here"

"but what about-!" the moment you turned your head, she was gone.

instead of her face you saw jimin's confused expression as you were standing there, clutching the paper with both of your hands. suddenly you couldnt look him in the eyes anymore. that was stupid. this jimin doesnt know what his family did. at least you hoped so. from behind someone placed a hand on your shoulder, it was jungkook. he looked worried as he gently took the paper out of your hands.

"everything okay? you ... look hurt"

his voice was gentle and something deep inside of you really kept hurting. as you looked him in the face another faint voice was heard in the back of your head. it was the same woman you heard the last time:

"say, promise me that we will always be together. that nothing will ever tear us apart. pinky promise!"

for the first time you thought about whether this was your voice that you kept hearing. maybe that secret woman jungkook was seeing, was actually you. the fairy mentioned something that your life is connected to his. did this happen before? did you fail to protect him the last time?

"i need a moment ... okay?" with those words you rushed out of the library, through the backdoor and into the garden.

at the same moment your head began to hurt as the realisation hit you slowly and creepily. voices started to grow louder and louder as you stumbled into the direction of the big tree.

"did you saw that?! i never saw a firefly before!" "what ... but ... you promised you wouldnt go! you said you would be careful" "... i hate you! I fucking hate you!" " no ... please ... dont leave me ... please come back home"

as soon as you reached the tree and your hand touched the stump something flashed before your eyes. it was only for a short moment but you could see it too clearly. it was jungkook laying in bed, facing you. someone placed their hand on his cheek as you heard a faint "i love you"

the throbbing in your head slowly faded away with the image you just saw. was this woman really you or were you reliving the memories of someone else? maybe your own ancestor? no this couldnt be possible. you knew that your ancestors came from a completely different country before they moved over the ocean. at least, that's what your mom always had told you. some strands of brown hair fell onto you face, as you leaned your forehead against the stump. it was cold. not too cold for you to shiver but still cold. it was in the middle of summer and yet the cold crept underneath your clothes.

Time didn't seem to matter anymore as you just continued to stand in this place. maybe 5 minutes had passed, maybe it was an hour, you didnt knew that. the only thing which brought you back from your trance was jungkook's voice, as he walked up the hill.

"hey, jimin took some documents with him. he went home and said he would look into something so we can send me back... are you ... okay?"

again, he placed his hand on your shoulder, turning your body into his direction. somehow you werent able to face him. the only thing you could do was grabbing his arms.

" ... can you stay here? Just a bit longer? i know its selfish of me but ... please?" jungkook noticed how your hands were shaking as he gently removed them.

at the same time he wrapped both of his arms around your body, trying to calm you down a bit. the sensation of his body against your own felt so comfortable. its like you felt something like this before, sometime in a past life of yours. with still shaking hands you hugged him back. first carefully just to tighten your hold a bit. jungkook didnt said a word as he kept holding you ... he only let go of you after you heard the car of your grandparents in the driveway.

Some time later:

you never knew it would be this difficult to sneak dinner into your room without running into your grandma. after she arrived back at the mansion, she decided to clean the whole place. which meant she was everywhere. literally everywhere. you didnt even had the time to properly explain how a toilet works, as you had sent jungkook into the bathroom. with crossed fingers you waited in front of it, hoping that he will manage somehow.

after that katastrophe was solved you sneaked past your grandma up the stairs. you only started to breathe again after reaching your room and closing the door behind you. jungkook was sitting on the bed, like a puppy as he waited for you. while you were downstairs in the kitchen another thought crossed your mind; what did jungkook ate in his time? does he even like sandwiches with tuna?

"Hm smells good, what is this?" to your suprise, jungkook snatched the plate out of your hand.

without any complaints he started eating both slices as his life would depend on it. this gave you some time to check your messages on your laptop. of course there was one from jimin, claiming that he would help sending Jungkook back into his time. not answering you closed the chatroom with him. what the fairy said earlier still laid heavily in your stomach. jungkook didnt deserved that, to be betrayed by his best friend. the exact same friend who told him to come to the battlefield with him. beside jimins message there wasnt much so you closed the chatrooms. as you wanted to close your laptop, jungkook appeared behind you, pointing at the screen.

"hey, thats me, right?"

right in front of you was the forum you searched earlier. it showed a picture of jungkook in his armor on a black horse. slowly jungkook leaned forward to get a better look, this caused his chest to press against your shoulder. this damn tight shirt. you could literally feel everything through the thin fabric of your own shirt. this man will surely be the death of you in no time. not only did you thought that he looks really good but also your heart started to beat like crazy. every time he came close to you. deep inside you already cursed your past self for falling in love with him.

"uh yes it is. this is some kind of ... black board? were people can share their opinions with each other" it was hard to find the right words to explain things to him.

with a nod jungkook just kept reading through all the messages people left underneath his picture. apperantly someone found this pic in an old box in their grandmas closet. which made you wonder if this woman was also somehow related to this incident in some kind of way. slowly you scrolled through the messages, asking how his grandma got hold of the pic but no one answered them. maybe it was just an attention seeker who bought this pic from a shady website or something.

First impression: One of the things I anticipated the most before s5 dropped was the clones. So I was veeery excited to meet Wrong Hordak, I was literally obsessed with him. The funniest cutest fucked up little guy who, it seemed, was made just for me. (Partially because one of my early clone OCs was just like Wrongie personality-vise lol) I was still sad that the other clones didnt get much focus, but at least i had WH and Hordak

Impression now: Wrong Hordak is still my baby and I'll keep justifying his existence till my last breath, but now I see many problems with his arc and his place in the story. The way his trauma was treated is simply disgusting, and the fact that WH is never taken seriously by no one, even the writers, even when he's distressed and scared, even when he is forced to watch his entire world burn makes my blood boil. He didnt even get a proper name by the end... Yes, it could've worked better if it was Hordak instead of WH, I too wanted brainwashed Hordak to join the rebellion. And yes, Wrongie wasnt even that useful, mainly being nothing but a joke character. He also failed as an attemt to help humanize the clones, so the rest of his brothers stayed mindless drones, not getting a hint of sympathy from the narrative nor most of the viewers

Anyway, I'm stealing Wrong Hordak from DreamWorks, my character now

Idea for a story: ooh I've been sitting on this one for so long. Call it an au or a rewrite, but the idea is:

Wrongie gets disconnected way, way earlier, after trying to stop Catra and Glimmer from escaping. The first to find him was Hordak, and after he notices something familiar about his brother's pain, he chooses to stay with him and even comfort him. While Prime and the clones are busy with other mess, he decides not to tell anyone about WH's problem. He can't explain why he wants to keep his brother out of the hivemind and possibly get himself into trouble, but he is quick to justify his decision (oh Prime is too busy right now, oh he just doesnt want to distract him, its not that important etc)

And thus begin the brothers' shenanigans, where Hordak tries to watch over confused Wrongie, while he's struggling to adapt and act normal. During the time they spent together Wrongie sees more of "the real Horde" and slowly starts to question Prime, and Hordak shows his protective side and remembers more and more of his old life and his old self

In this story it is Hordak who gets taken with the rebellion, but only after a moment of resistance, because 1) he didnt fully remember Entrapta yet and saw the others as the enemy 2) he was worried about Wrong Hordak and tried to take his brother with him. Now WH is all by himself on the Velvet Glove and still has to keep a low profile. Eventually he gets closer with other clones and helps them see the truth as well, starting a small rebellion of his own. So during the final battle the etherian rebellion is going to have a trusted ally on "the other side", who can help with distractions and hacking Prime's systems. And ofc, seeing his brother safe and sound and freed will boost Hordak's morale even more before his inevitable last meetup with Horde Prime

Unpopular opinion: I think it won't be hard for WH and Hordak to become close friends. Hordak fell in love with this ball of energy called Entrapta and got attached to Imp who likes to mess with him, I'm sure he won't find Wrong Hordak too cheerful or too annoying (oh he will be annoyed, no doubt, but is he going to see his brother as a nuisance because of it? Nah-uh) Sure, WH might make Hordak feel insecure at first, cause Wrongie is more "likeable" and has no defects, but not to the point of barely tolerating or avoding him

And they have a lot in common? Same background, similar traumas, and they both still have a lot to learn about the real world, they can learn and grow together. Plus, I'm sure Wrongie is going to freaking adore Hordak and see him as his hero and role model, and there's no way Hordak is going to stay cold and distant for long after being showered with so much love So yeah, they're besties your honor (even if only in my heart u-u)

Favorite relationship: friendship with Entrapta and also possible future friendship with Hordak and Imp. My guy was born to be the funny uncle

Favorite headcanon: I really enjoy the idea of him being rebellious even before the events of the show. The comment under that one storyboard says that Wrongie's pod was used for reconditioning, so something must have happened for him to get in there. He must have known too much, or was too vocal and disobedient, or just different and Prime didnt like that. Perhaps when WH was yelling "Brothers, HP lied to us, he's a false ruler!" it was him remembering all those things he was trying to say to his brothers before he got silenced by Prime. Also maybe he was the only clone who knew about Krytis, so when the rebellion took Wrongie it might have got Prime stressing a lil bit, because, sure, he did send him for reconditioning, but what if that clone still remembers something he shouldnt know?

theres an underground society of ppl who have developed a deep fondness of izuku. they're colleagues, ppl he helped, or even friends; they just secretly admire him & support him from a far; katsuki sneers, calling them cultish even as they claimed him as a founding member LOL. like they have a biweekly meeting where they discuss all thing deku related (he's been looking paler lately) and a group chat where they inform each other, oh i didnt see deku's bring his lunch today. someone will see that text and somehow bump into izuku with extra food on hand.

katsuki's feelings for izuku would eventually get exposed to the members and instead of spurning him they're like oh, so now we can have you permanently take over the job of caring for deku for us and katsuki is like WHAT as the mission to get bkdk together is ON for the group.

okay so, to me dad for one is fundamentally antithetical to who midoriya is as a character and his position within the narrative. midoriya is not a chosen one. yes he was literally chosen by all might to inheret ofa, but midoriya is different from a lot if shounen protagonists in that there was nothing inherently special about him other than his heroic spirit. he doesnt have a demon inside him like naruto, or saiyan abilities like goku, or even a hyper genuius intellect like senkuu. midoriya is literally Just Some Guy who happened to get noticed by all might. which is actually what makes his story all that more powerful. yes, midoriya being quirkless ends up working to his advantage with ofa and the whole 'last holder' thing does kinda feel like destiny but ultimately, all might chosing midoriya wasnt predetermined. there wasn't some grand prophecy or legend, there was no fates whispering in all might's ear, its just that in that moment with the sludge villain, all might saw midoriya be a hero and knew that he was the right person to inheret ofa.

objectively i get the appeal of 'ofa, a quirk born out of defiance to afo, is passed onto his hero son who takes him down' as like this cool narrative parallel but to me it undermines the whole basis of midoriya's character. he didnt get involved with ofa and afo and all might because of some hidden deeper connection between them all linking their destinies or whatever. midoriya is involed with everything that hes involved in because regardless of the circumstances of his birth, regardless of whether or not he got a quirk or met all might or got into UA, he was always going to be a hero no matter what.

with shigaraki, the whole sereniputous narrative thing of 'the grandson of one of the ofa users is groomed by afo to be the 'next him' and is the super villian nemisis of the current ofa user' works because shigaraki's defining character trait, his core theme, his 'origin' if you will, of hatered, is literally a product of the relationship between ofa and afo. shigaraki would literally not be the character that he is without his life, before it even began, being shaped by ofa and afo. but midoriya's origin is completely seperate from that, his origin is that of being a hero, no matter what, before he even knows a single thing about ofa and afo, before his life is shaped by them in any meaningful way.

i think there are two moments in bnha that make it blatantly obvious to me that dad for one was never going to happen.

first is back during the sports festival when, after hearing todoroki's backstory, midoriya kinda breaks the 4th wall a bit and thinks 'if we were in a comic book, he'd be the main character'. and the thing is? thats totally true!! yes 'kid with no powers in a world where everyone has powers' is a quintessential shounen manga story set up, but its not a super-hero story set up, as far as western hero comics (which horikoshi obviously takes massive inspiration from) go, todoroki with his tragic backstory and special dual-power would be the main character, which is what makes it all the more poignant that midoriya is instead. yes he inherets this great legendary power from the greatest hero ever and gets embroiled in this centuries long battle between good and evil, but prior to that, theres nothing about midoriya, other than his overwhelming heroism that made all might choose him, which is a choice wholly made by all might rather than some predetermined destiny thing, that makes him a main character.

the second is during the paranormal liberation war when afo tries to steal ofa and critises all might and the other vestiges for allowing the quirk to fall into the 'wrong hands' by ending up with midoriya, who he deems as weak, only for yoichi to defend all might's choice in selecting him as successor and his + the other vestiges' choice to remain within him. that has nothing to do with midoriya being some perfect, narratively appropriate, parallel inspired chosen one, hell its even before the 'you'll probably be the last user because your quirklessness makes you perfect for ofa in a way that quirked people arent' reveal. yoichi and the other vestiges' support and defence of midoriya, just like all might's chosing of him to be his successor, comes from nothing other than the understanding that midoriya is a true hero through and through.

'but leo! doesnt the fact that midoriya is a true hero mean it would be even more poignant if he were the son of the greatest villain ever' i hear you all cry, and the answer is no.

because if midoriya is all for one's son then it makes too much sense that he inhereted ofa. he goes from being this true hero who embodies the will of everything ofa and its users stand for, who is ready to carry on their legacy and offer the world hope in a time of despair, to being the ~perfect~ narrative choice to inheret ofa to fulfil a circle of fate and break a generational curse.

in the canon universe, if all for one is midoriya's dad, midoriya goes from being this character who's sheer conviction to win and save, to be a hero, despite his non-suited circumstances, and nothing else about him, makes all might, who had already planned to go to UA and select a student to be his successor, pick him, out of all possible people, to inheret ofa, to suddenly being the only possible successor. if dfo is true then it doesnt matter that in another life mirio or bakugou or someone else couldve been the 9th user, because by being all for one's son midoriya is put in such a narratively perfect position to inheret ofa that its obvious it was literally never going to be anyone else. which to me, wholly and completely undermines all the poignancy and narrative weight in midoriya, who had absolutely nothing to do with ofa and afo but who was such a genuine hero that all might and the ofa vestiges chose him regardless, being the one to inherent ofa.

so yeah, i dont like dad for one, (and villain deku AUs for pretty much the same reasons), and thats why im convinced it'll never happen. because for all his many flaws horikoshi definitely knows how to craft a narrative, and i think hes both too smart and too good a writer to undermine his own protagonist's origin like that.

tng update time. a day or more ??? ago i watched "the outrageous okona" in several bits and pieces, and then last night i caught "loud as a whisper."

the outrageous okona: this one is...fine? i think it seems better than it actually was due to being in the first two seasons in tng

i liked okona and i really liked the plot twist about him not actually doing any crimes whatsoever but instead playing messenger boy for his buds. that part was good. appearances deceiving etc, and he pulled a very clever stunt to get them to admit the truth. unfortunately by the time i started liking him the episode was over. so.

did NOT like the "data can't be funny" plot...like, he did define a joke in an earlier episode, and it frustrated me that he seemed to have forgotten the definition and NO ONE would explain it to him. they just kept going "you gotta feel it bro"

personally, i think if data was told the definition of a joke, and had the concept of comedic timing also explained to him, he could master the art of TELLING jokes, even if he himself never felt or even understood the urge to laugh. it's just ai learning. i guess in 87 they just hadn't conceived of it.

i did like the part where guinan was like just bc you cant laugh or make other people laugh doesnt mean you're not human...it was kind of the narrative to want to be accepting of his differences...but at the same time the whole premise felt so terribly unfair to him it's not enough to save it

also, the jerry lewis moment has uh...aged. a lot of those jokes aged

speaking of data, he had several good ace moments in this episode. "sexual attraction is not a part of my programming" and "i don't believe it's true that the act and emotion of love are the same thing" etc etc. i don't know if i believe in ace data because again you cannot be making the robots ace but i do deeply respect people who do and i'm happy for them that this was in this episode. if stuff like this keeps happening you could win me over maybe. MAYBE.

first of all, that one guy speaking through those other people was COOL. like at first it was a bit creepy, are they his thralls or what, are they ok, why does he keep flirting with deanna in the workplace, but after it was explained that they were interpreters and after riva got angry that picard spoke to them instead of him it was like. YES. this is the shit. his interactions with deanna became a lot less skeevy once you realize his interest is genuine and benign and he's not some megalomaniac psychic nutjob

his conversation with geordi...like yes it's a little on the nose to be like "my disability is part of me and i like who i am so i like my disability" but this was 87. some people hadn't gotten it yet. i mean hell a lot of people still haven't yk

offering geordi a cure out of nowhere when they previously said it was impossible is wack BUT I DID REALLY LIKE that even though geordi's condition causes him chronic pain he still didn't leap at the chance to have his sight restored. like that's his way of existing and being alive and nobody would choose to change it on a dime unless it was causing them nothing but abject misery...like it's such a nice way to communicate that geordi values the different way in which he sees the world

3. What is your character’s moral alignment?

for the most part, lux is chaotic good! their actions are not really motivated by any desire to be a good person, they simply stand up for others freedom and their right to make decisions for themselves. you can do whatever you want forever and ever <3 there are traumatic events in their past that very well could've lead them down a remorseful path but they instead eventually accepted each step of their journey and the people they meet as a learning experience. and when they care deeply for someone, all morals go out the window if it means keeping them safe. they may be pure chaos at times but they have respect for the knowledge and passions of other people and they do not steal from an honest working man. but the gods can kiss their ass for all they care.

4. How did you choose your Tav’s name, if you gave them a unique one?

any jokes i could make abt needing to escape character creation after being trapped remaking lux for a week aside, the reasoning behind why i chose their name is very multifaceted. it's mainly inspired by tiefling virtue naming convention, a name they choose for themself after they left their home and is symbolic of who they aspire to be. to focus on that glimmer of hope despite everything and shine for others. they also have a great appreciation for art and a good shiny. and they literally have to be the shiniest thing in the room. "i am a (lux)ury few can afford" etc. lux is also short and sweet like tav! :) i really like latin names and will never escape the kingdom hearts fan allegations (guilty) they don't have a family last name because [redacted] and i don't know if they would keep their trade last name if they had one. they deserve a title though, something badass to match their fury of avernus wifey >:) when i find the perfect one i'll let you know!

9. What is your Tav’s biggest priority or goal?

their biggest priority during the game is to avoid the main quest at all cost. "i quite like the worm and the powers it grants me actually" is to be a light in the darkness for the companions they're closest with on their personal journeys. they want to find a way to fix karlachs engine because she deserves to enjoy her life despite the injustices shes suffered, to make sure shadowheart doesnt feel alone in the world as she discovers who she truly is and to help wyll find an alternate path from the endless cycle of duty and self sacrifice. there is always a way. lux is the designated leader of the group and they won't let anything bad happen to their friends especially now that they have found a sense of belonging again, they wouldn't dare fail them and they'll set the world on fire if they have to.

19. Who is your Tav romancing, if anyone?

oh... you know ;3 the big secret around camp is that lux is romancing karlach, totally not obvious to literally everyone!! these two make me feel very mentally ill you know this. the nature of my own immediate karlach favoritism and her being very much my type lead to a lot of coincidentally great chemistry between the two ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and even though i very much believe they'd only be committed to each other, i love exploring the dynamic of a polyship with shadowheart and if the game allowed it past act 1. they're a sun/moon/star trio and make me feel so soft ;-; lux will be romancing shadowheart in my 2.0 playthru :') if im strong enough to resist romancing karlach again sdfdfgsdfd

21. If you’re romancing anyone, who fell first and who fell harder?

these types of things with karlux can be a bit difficult to pinpoint considering they were instantly fond of each other and developed feelings pretty quickly, accelerated by their circumstances. karlach was never able to think about romance during her time in avernus and once she's free she's just grateful to be alive, she would be content just finding a way to cool down and hug someone. so falling in love was certainly not something she expected- and neither did lux. karlach falls in love after the many cozy campfire talks and the risky kiss they share under the stars. she tells herself what they have between them is casual, that she doesn't mind sharing lux if they pursue someone else but she's really just repressing the extent of her feelings because of the limitations of her engine. but to see lux fight so hard to find a solution, and caring for her so much, that's when she knows. and lux ofc is super in love with her already but it hits them hard during karlachs second engine upgrade at last light. the excitement for both of them to finally being able to touch eachother mixing with the horrors of the ultimatum that is given on her life. karalch could die at any moment and she accepts that, but for lux, who is realizing they love her so much that they cannot imagine their life without her... that love is insurmountable and terrifying.

29. How easily offended are they? How do they act when offended?

i think their lived experiences have left them able to tolerate the petty stuff. in their travels they've heard pretty much every insult under the sun but they draw the line when other people are being degraded or oppressed. they try their best to be firm in their boundaries and what they don't tolerate. this isn't because they're all calm and collected, they're simply too aware of how dangerous they could potentially be if they let their anger take hold of them. this is something that can make them so powerful when they're in situations where they have to fight. but there is always risks and the nature of wild magic requires them to constantly question if it's worth it. and sometimes lux doesn't care.

31. How does your Tav dress for different occasions, like very fancy situations?

every occasion is a fancy situation, what do you mean? :^) lux's fashion sense can be a bit eclectic but when it comes to accessorizing, every piece is carefully picked and considered. they very much dress as a means of self expression and are also aware of how others respond to how you present yourself, using that to their advantage at times. i'm just saying, i think cleavage adds a charisma bonus and you can't tell me i'm wrong.

32. How did your Tav get their scars, if they have any?

their face scars originate from my first play through, i thought it would make sense two thirds through the journey that they would have some battle scars, especially considering how reckless they can be so i added it to the design. when i remade them for my 2.0 playthrough i kept the scar because i like when reiterations of a character retain details in honor of their past self :) this is tentative but i'm also experimenting with magical scaring on their hands, as if their magic sometimes burns right through them when they use their powers or even is rotting them from the inside out when they don't. it's a source of chronic pain they've had to live with which is why lux 2.0 even as a sorcerer makes a warlock pact in a desperate attempt to salve and control it. i would love to explore this idea more but for right now it's just a loose concept that also looks pretty badass c:

absolutely love this addition, especially the idea of him deploying his backstory like a bomb the moment it becomes useful to do so, its so evocative!! hes weaponized every single part of himself !!!! (and in so doing further internalized the dehumanization enacted upon him by utaya, elves, the islands ruling class, etc) (clawing at the walls about this)

and reading this made me realize i rly want to zero in on the conversation in the governors meeting room bc the more i look at the few pages it gets the more i find to dig into. its so dense !!!!!!! politically and in terms of characterization

for instance as you brought up!! its so so interesting that kabru takes pains not to really talk about milsiril when he first confronts the canaries, when she is a clear In to the position he wants to hold in that conversation--cithis is the first one to mention her at all, which he politely concedes, and then moves on.

there is definitely a part of that choice based in not wanting to involve her as a person, because things get stickier and harder to control if she gets involved. for kabru, keeping a thumb on how others perceive him is crucial to the game plan here, and introducing the opinion of someone he cant influence as readily, whos known him since before he began living exclusively for A Purpose could easily throw a wrench in things

but i also think he doesnt lean on who his foster mother is nearly as hard as he does his standing as The Last Utaya Tallman for ideological reasons. systemically, elven superiority is an inescapable reality in which he and everyone he knows is forced to live, and its been this way since long long long before he was born. he could play up his closeness to elf society, and it might be effective, but in this conversation he instead chooses to place weight and meaning chiefly on his tallman identity. kabru of utaya, an identity characterized thru the elves eyes as an undeniable, inextricable reminder of their own fallibility, and that of the systems they work to uphold. their greatest failure in recent memory--15 years is the blink of an eye to them. its still raw, undoubtedly

and as kabru of utaya, he embodies an accusation directed toward the existing structures of power. his demand to be heard echoes further if its laced with guilt, after all, and leaning on the privilege of knowing the right people plays into their game. thats something which he, for all his pragmatism, refuses to do bc it would undercut his angle + long term goals rhetorically

and even for taking this stance!!! and refusing the easy out!!! what the canaries actually begin to respond to is not the quality of his argument but his proximity to their vice commander! the way they talk to him then takes on the cloying dismissive tone milsiril uses with him; look how big youve gotten! its so strong of you to want to be an adventurer, you should cheer up a little--one of them even asks if hed like some cake in just the way she did, to make the comparison clear.

the way milsiril treats kabru is the way the canaries treat kabru is the way elves treat human society at large. there is no argument you can make and no way you can position yourself that can make people who are entrenched in the belief of your inferiority respect you. and he and rin grew up around this!!!! fuckin elves man!!!

it’s funny when ppl talk about the harpy omelet scene and say things like “why did he do all of that? he didn’t need to. JUST doing that for laios???” (seen these nearly verbatim on posts i’ve made.)

i don’t really get how you can hear his backstory & not understand that every decision he makes within the dungeon is fueled by a profound trauma borne out of horrific, structural negligence. of course he would do fucking anything to enact his plan? if he computes “getting in laios’s favor = proxy control of the dungeon” and he has very limited time to do so, he will jump at the chance. he’s already DIED for this.

kabru has maybe the clearest possible motivation that a character can have. he has a Protagonists Motivation, and it guides him forward in a very coherent way in the beginning of the story. things get more complicated in later acts that directly address how that motivation manifests itself/gets contradicted, bc ryoko kui is great at exploring this, but it’s still extremely present.

and as a labru fan i strongly dislike the implication i see from some ppl that his interest in laios is mostly personal or romantic (posts that range from pure joke to actual ship meta.) even when taking the “confession” at face value, where i think he was telling the truth, there’s still a lot more to it than that. i think at first kabru does see laios as a means to an end in a way that’s impersonal, partly because he tends to keep everyone in his life at arms length. but that “end” (preventing history from repeating itself) is something foundational to his psyche, and we should consider that potential sense of safety getting mixed in with his warring fascination/apprehension towards laios. he’s drawn to him for visceral reasons, and his stated motivations are so intertwined with his sense of self that untangling this push-pull is much more interesting than boilerplate Yearning, to me.

it’s just confusing when any meta or basic discussion of kabru diminishes the weight utaya has on his inner world and i’m really surprised every time i see it? like i understand that different types of meta will put other lenses on things intentionally, and in most cases i think it’s an interesting tool to work with. but it’s a massive disservice to his character to put the most foundational experience of his life on the back burner ESPECIALLY when it’s in favor of shipping. dissecting character relationships, romantic or otherwise, is at its best when you have their full personhood in mind!!

Dazai Character Playlist Elaboration: The Good in Me by Jon Bellion

overall its about him taking three steps back in his moral redemption every time hes around the port mafia, or reminded of his time there probably. It happened when he was taunting akutagawa in captivity(the main one), and though he didnt really do anything substantial, his mannerisms clearly reflect it when isolated by Higuchi and Gin, when he locks the door under the premise of torturing Kouyou, when speaking to Mori during the ADA and Port Mafia meeting, even to a lesser extent whenever he meets up with Ango. .... oddly enough this doesnt happen when he’s around Chuuya or Hirotsu but that’s neither here nor there. 

first verse: 

You know that he trusts you and I know that he loves you But somehow you convinced me again My foundation rumbles and all my morals crumble My father's warnings run through my head

okay to start this off. ignore the pronouns, i do a lot of fuckery. they dont matter. 

In this verse the context is Dazai after allowing himself to be captured by the Port Mafia. And the first line obviously is referring to Akutagawa and the way Dazai knows full well how much Akutagawa idolizes and reveres and values his opinion and shit and how easily he can fucking wreck his mental state with a couple words. 

I always interpret the second line in the context of Dazai’s tendency to rationalize shit - like he needed to provoke Akutagawa to get him to eventually team up with Atsushi, it was the easiest way to do that, yada yada. tho we know full well that there were other ways to get those two teaming up, especially for genius ass Dazai. (Alternatively interpreted by my own belief that all of this is to some extent set up by Mori to either taunt him, or throw him off his redemption game enough that he does eventually consider coming back so the you could be referring to him cuz i wouldn’t put it above that slimy asshole)

But again, when he’s in the port mafia basement or whatever, and the kid he fucking abused is right in front of him and its familiar and all from the past, i think its a lot more natural for him to slip into old mindsets and let go of all the progress he’s made just for that moment, instead going for the simplest coldest option. 

yeah- father’s warnings is referring to Oda’s last dying wish actually.. and here Dazai is mentally abusing an orphan again.

first two lines - obviously  its the temptation to abuse an orphan. what else would it be?? its one of them like- yeah ur soul is port mafia black things where he just cant facking escape it. its always gonna be in the corner of his mind, just sometimes more all consuming than others. 

Now of course it is Dazai doing these things, and for someone as good at manipulating and being in control of himself, 100% guaruntee that he does consciously choose to act this way. its not a “aur naur the memories, they are invading my consiousness and moral brain and forcing me to be mean to people and act like i did when i was eeeevil.” yeah it is porbably a trauma thing but not to the extent that he couldn’t stop it if he chose to. “But you had this planned” is again part of my belief that Mori is at least somewhat intentional abou this. it could also be the universe. his whole “i am a man hated by righteousness” and .. i forget the line but ‘everything worth wanting is lost the moment i obtain it’ thing. 

fourth line! yeah. criminals and shakedowns is enough. and ive rambled about the first bit enough as well. 

fifth line refers more to who he has become, who he swore to be and is trying to be, etc. etc.

then the chorus repeats twice. so theres not much more to analyze

there is a little third verse but its just the repeated echo-y background chanting of “All of your good is mine” which if you wanted to take it far, which i tend to do, it could be of the belief that everything good about Dazai came from Oda actually. Or ykno- the taunting voice of the dead that lingers in the back of your mind. idk.

I'm in the middle of writing a stranger things fic wip with robin getting vecnad and honestly? I forgot how fun it is to write angst lol

Robin faces being disowned by most of her homophobic family, vecna using her dad (the only one who stuck by her and still love her) to cause more harm

Steve having his "I CANT FUCKING LOSE HER" moment (frantically searching for her favourite song only to realise their mixtape is at her house)

Her favourite song is "I'm still standing" by elton John btw

Nancy yelling at him saying "we get it your girlfriend might die but your not the only one who cares about her!?" To which steve loses HIS SHIT bc nancy stop being bullshit that's his platonic soulmate and he loves her more than any romantic fling he could have had in the past bc robin was the first person to except him and ask if he was okay!!!!

Robin then having to face the Russians again, only this time forced to watch steve getting tortured (finally understanding why he wouldnt fully tell her what happened) plus watching/ seeing dustin and erica hurt and blaming her for what happened at starcourt!

She (like steve) blames herself for letting them get involved, she hates that her decoding a secret message for fun led to someone she now loves getting hurt

Everyone is not sure if they are more scared of robin dying in this moment, or steve, who the party is pretty sure has finally cracked when in his last attempt to find a song that means something to robin

Starts singing total eclipse of the heart like a muppet

Oh btw all 4 chapters (maybe more I'm still planning lol) are named after different lyrics from the song

Robin saves herself time by hiding in the memory of her and steve making thier mixtape (Steve's coming out moment/ Robin's dad being AMAZING)

I love Robin's dad in this hes a pretty cool bi king who just loves his two gay children (steve is his son, steve had no choice in the suprise adoption bit prefers him much more over his real dad)

VECNA (the bitch) tells robin as shes escaping that if she doesnt join him, she knows who will be next (yep you stevie boy ;))

Of course robin still escapes, but not without being utterly terrified for her bestfriend, not even sure how to tell him (or the others tbh) that vecna probably wont be targeting max this time, instead choosing to take out their hardest hitter

Que steve and robin having a VERY emotional hug (if they weren't co dependent before, they definitely are now)

Everyone else is just there in stunned silence bc gods damn it that was the most stressful 15 minutes of their lives and it got resolved BY STEVE SINGING BONNIE TYLERS "total eclipse of the heart" LIKE FRICKIN MISS PIGGY

Possibly gunna write a sequel involving steve and him getting vecna'd, (I have so many angsty ideas for this too (plus a bit of steddie)

and a prequel about the whole "mixtape" scene and stuff involving robin and steve being beautiful codependent queens being gay with a king that is Robin's dad helping them learn what love means where I project my 80s music taste onto my favourite characters (obviously that would include other characters but this is all based on platonic stobin so they're only guests lol)

Anywayyyyy this was longer than planned but maybe if other people like this idea it will actually get me to finish it (tho I still dont know how long that would be since I just started my new college course)

gajeel lost metalica at a young age, and (i dont remember too much of canon but im pretty sure its implied he just kinda fucked around until phantom tropue picked him up which yikes) like this CHILD was on his own most of his formative years and then got picked up by a super shitty abusive group of ppl and he just LEARNED to blend in, like yea metalica made him kind of a punk but he was a KID so during those years he was alone he probably just closed himself off to survive and learned to prioritize himself over everybody else and to do that it takes a level of desensitizing urself to others pain

and like ok again im playing hard and fast with canon but i THINK its implied he like, had done a lot of bad shit with them or whatever right? like what he did to levy and fairy tail wasn't NEW, so when the events in canon happen and he ends up at fairy tail, in my mind that's the FIRST TIME he has to face how HIS ACTIONS DIRECTLY HURT SOMEONE

and not only thats but someone who OBJECTIVELY DIDN'T DESERVE IT

gonna link my juvia is a lesbian post here bc it sums up a LOT of my feelings on gruvia but the tldr is that my personal hc is that juvia is a lesbian with a serious case of comp het from trying to fit in with other kids growing up and it literally was just never corrected until she got to fairy tail and actively started to form friendships

the main reason i dislike gruvia is that it paints gray as the one who needs to change in order to accept juvias feelings and not just cuz he needs to grow as a person and learn to allow himself to be vunrable.

like grays arc doesnt ONLY center around juvia but its a big part of it and juvias growth CENTERS around gray and we can talk about the the borderline misogynist idea of having a female character whos damn near whole identity is her feelings for a man where she never grows or learns meaningfully but instead just very slowly chills out more so from being sidelined than growth but i digress i just dont like them

last is jerza,, i just dont like em,, jellal is really boring in my opinion and he had a lot of potential but meh? his redemption is neat and his history with erza has potential but i feel like the point of erzas arc is about growth and moving on and while i think her and jellal can still be friends and have each others back she still has so much healing to do after tower of heaven

idk i dont see a lot wrong with jerza i just feel like its a lil bland and not my cup of tea

So, if I'm honest, I think it would work if you knew how to get to him. He's actually proving it right here, in a way he doesn't realize consciously - Madara makes it a point to get Obito's attention to just... talk to him casually. That. Is. Huge. Stop and think about it for a moment. Okay? Okay.

Why did Madara target Obito? How did he know exactly what to do in order to completely destroy him emotionally? Who aside from Naruto (or with Naruto if you're using my personal HC universe) parallels someone else in Madara's life that could have influenced him? That last one has two answers.

Obito is a lot like him. Rather, a lot like he was. He knows it. In all honesty, it shocked me that they didn't really try to Hanasu no Jutsu Madara, although I do understand the focus on Obito being a priority for a great deal of them. If I had to place a bet that would risk the world on choosing one person from the ASF to only talk with him, I know who I would choose instantly. It even could have happened - it was SO CLOSE to happening.

Sasuke could have Talk no Jutsu'd him.

And no, not because he looks like Izuna; because he himself is also situationally like Madara. He's lived his life for a single purpose, thought he achieved it, and then found out that his purpose and thus all the time spent moving toward it was null. Sasuke had the best possible chance of understanding him, and he made it clear he did not have any desire to harm Sasuke. Even though his family abandoned him, he hasn't done the same in the way people (characters and IRL both) often think he has.

Play on the devastation and grief that only the loss of a brother you shared a special bond with can bring. Then to their shared intent - to protect (not save). The sudden loss of family, through death or disowning. Touch on the isolation of being surrounded by people who you want to care about, some of whom you do, and maybe three or four who care about you in turn, and calling that home. Make the point that the only one person you needed to understand you, to take the time to just listen to you, exchange blows not with a goal in mind but to communicate, how that one person seemed to shine like the goddamn sun itself on everyone around you (and fuck it, on you, too) only ever saw their side of the river. They could reach across and pull everyone else in, see others at their core, but not you. Never you.

Sasuke could have come at him from that perspective, of genuinely understanding some of the most specific circumstances that threw Madara into the hell he lived in, including almost getting out. He could have made the argument that he brought Hashirama forward to demand to know what his intent had been with the village, and maybe see where things went wrong. That he's decided the first three were wrong (he doesn't know nearly enough about Minato personally, and his tenure was too short to judge by) and how he is going to see to it himself that things change; that there will never be another unnecessary sacrifice like his brother.

He isn't going to give up and take the easy way out. That's where Madara would start fighting back hard, and where Sasuke could actually start getting through - and this time it is in part because he looks like Izuna. Call him out on this, all of this, being a cop out instead of enduring and working for a true solutions. Point out that there won't be one answer to everything, but that doesn't mean there aren't answers. But don't give an inch; don't let him retreat back to combat as a way to avoid this, keep burning it in even if you have to fight him at the same time, and raise the pressure - call him a coward for running from facing a teenager from his own family.

And then flip the Reverse card by saying that fear is valid, it's okay, even. Because who wouldn't be absolutely terrified of a world that has caused so much pain? That fear lets him do something almost nobody else can, and that thing is what allows him to be a perfect strategist, and an effective leader; true, actual empathy. He understands people on a level Hashirama never has. That's why he could accept the notion of Hashirama being genuine in offering peace, but Izuna couldn't; if he doesn't give into the fear itself, it turns to empathy.

It's now 4am. I started this at about 2am. Uhm. I should sleeps. Fuck, I need to WRITE this, though. Time to harass my writing partner and bribe their Sasuke with [REDACTED].

“What’s your order?” The chipper attitude they were supposed to have had left the day you turned in your two-week notice. This coffee shop had been the bain of your assistance. Fuck this place. Fuck these people and fuck their fancy, overdone ass orders. You leaned on the counter, giving the man in front of you a stern look.

He looked around. Clearly, you didn’t have an attitude with him. He’d just walked in the fucking place. “Uhm—,” his eyes found the menu, but there was an aloofness in him that triggered you.

“You’ve been in line ten minutes, and you don’t know what you want?”

“Yep.” He nodded and shot a smile. “Ten whole minutes. Still a fuck up.” His finger tapped on the counter, and he looked up at the menu. Nothing here looked worth seven dollars, especially not a coffee. “What’s good here?”

“Look, I don’t know. ”You sighed. “I’m about to go lunch, and you’re the last order.” You flourished the lack of customers behind him.

“You from around here?”

“Yeah. Why?”

“Your attitude is pretty fucked up; I figured you lived up the block.” He took a pregnant pause and chuckled. “An Everything Bagel, jalapeño cream cheese, and a grande black coffee.”

“What’s the name?”

“Pete.”

“Spell that.”

“You can’t spell Pete?”

“You from around here?” You quipped.

“Yeah?”

“Yeah, I figured your name is probably spelled all fucked up and shit.”

He laughed, which was not what you expected; you just knew this was the gasoline added to a shitty fire. “What’s your name?”

“Y/N.”

“Kinda weird.” He shrugged. “You wanna go somewhere better than this on your lunch break?”

“Unless you have a gram and a beer, no.”

“I have a gram and some black coffee if the barista doesnt quit before she puts my order in.”

You snickered. “That’ll do. Where are we going?”

“Anywhere but fucking Staten Island.”

 The ferry. It hadn’t been in the plans, but you were happy you said yes to the lean stranger. He leaned against the railing, a cigarette in one hand a flask in the other. It wasn’t precisely beer, but you had no complaints. “You want a sip?”

“Sure,” You took the flask without hesitation and chugged down three gulps before passing it back to him. It was gin, dry grade A gin. “That’s the kind of shit you bring on a ferry?”

“I thought I grabbed my tequila, but I must’ve drunk it all.”

“Drunk at 2pm on a Tuesday?”

“I’m not drunk; I’m enjoying a drink. Judge much?”

You shrugged and turned, resting your back on the railing beside him, feeling the cool breeze run through your hair. “So why did you invite me out here?’

“You looked like you needed saving, and I’ve been there. Shitty job with shitty people.” He flicked his cigarette ashes into the water below him. “Plus, you cussed me out on the job, which means your kinda badass.”

“I like to think I am.” You admit and nod your head. “You ever get tired of doing the same old shit?”

“yep, that’s why I get tatted.”

Then you noticed the tattoos spackled across his body in random places, and they were once more in a random fashion. Yet, you liked them; they matched him, odd and somehow insanely attractive. “Pete, I want a tattoo. Take me to your guy.”

“What do you mean to take me to my guy? Does it look like I have a guy?” Pete laughs. “I’m like a god damn coloring book; let’s find the first shop and just do it. I pick yours… you pick mine. Stranger tats.”

“Why not?”

“Your boyfriend won’t appear and try to beat my ass?”

“Unless you’re imaginary, too, I think you’re good.”

‘Fucking Brickhouse like you, single in Staten Island?”

“Single in Staten island is not a rarity.”

“Well, you’re not wrong. It’s the only way to be.” He said with a bit of sarcasm.

 The conversation was random the entire ferry trip; you made wisecracks and rebutted, flirting with you but keeping his distance. “Tell me three weird facts about yourself.” You twiddled with your fingers and looked up to meet his brown eyes. “I’m sure you have more than three, but spare me the rest.”

“I like to be alone.” Pete looked back. “But I love a good party, but when I go, I hang out alone and watch people. People are interesting as fuck.”

“I find them to be boring.”

“That’s because you’re not looking for the right things.” He pointed to the woman about fifty feet away from the two of you. The older lady sat tired, sunglasses covered her face while the gray hair blew wild in the wind. “See Gladys there; she’s about to go home to a man she’s been with for thirty-five years. The best dick she ever had.”

Your face radiated with heat as you suppressed a chuckle. “Has to be to stay with it thirty-five years.”

“You haven’t had someone dick you down that makes you want to stay thirty-five years?”

“Not even make me want to stay a week,” You answered.

“That’s fucked up.” Pete smiled.

“That’s life, Pete. Unfortunately, people don’t always get good dick like Gladys.”

“Yeah, lucky bitch.” His phone rang, and he shifted, digging in his light denim jeans to retrieve his iPhone and answer the call. “It’s Pete.”

You turned, giving him some privacy and taking it all in. You didn’t plan to return to work, fuck that place and everything it entailed. You started a new job in three days; you’d take these three days to not give a fuck. That feeling started today; it started with your new friend Pete and this tattoo. The call ended after a few minutes; he didn’t talk about much, just a conversation with a friend and plans he had for a party later tonight.

“The shop is about five blocks from where we get off. Have you decided what I’m getting?”

“I want to see the designs first; I want it to be memorable.”

“Make it your number.”

“Is that your coded way in asking for it?”

“Not coded, I swear.” Pete leaned closer to you. “I kinda think if we are gonna get stranger tattoos, we should have each other’s number.’

“We won’t be strangers then.”

“Call them something else then.”

“I’ll let you know if you can have this number later… I haven't got an invite to this party yet.”

“You're totally invited.” Pete tossed his hands up. “Give me three digits.”

“847.” You snickered.

“Good, I guess I can work for the next seven.”

 The shop was grimy, with dark walls and low lights. The smell of weed and liquor hit your nose, and you felt at home for some reason. Your legs ached; the walking didn’t bother you usually but pairing it with walking didn’t do much good for you. You sat in the chair across from Pete. “Don’t make this a dumb tattoo.”

“You’re talking to the king of dumb shit.” He pointed to the small elephant; it wasn’t dumb, though. It had a feminine line design, and it was petite, adorable even. “I’m sparing you today. You’re getting this,” He smiled. “An elephant, not dumbo but a distant hot cousin.”

“I like it.”

“Good.” His smile was sincere. “I hoped you would. When is she up?” He asked the artist.

“I can get her now.” He answered as he started to sketch the elephant onto the transfer paper. “Hop up, sweet cheeks, and it’ll be about ten minutes.”

Pete extended his hand like a gentleman and led you to the red leather chair. ‘Ever had one before?”

“I have three.” You admitted.

“I see none.” He looked you over quizzically. “Not a one.”

“They are hidden….” You answered, choosing not to tell him they were down your chest and down your thigh.

“Secret tattoos. I like it. I can dig it.”

“Sure. Where is this party tonight?” You asked.

“Back in Staten Island.”

‘Can I trust you, Pete?”

“I hope so; I feel trustworthy?”

“You answered that like you didn't know the answer.” You shifted in the seat and pulled your shirt over your head. You revealed the tattoo of the moon phases going down your chest. “Just because you can't see something does not mean it isn’t there.”

“They're fucking awesome, like the person they are on.”

“You only think I’m awesome because you don’t know me.”

“I know enough.”

It was not like you to kiss a stranger because instead, you wanted to admit it or not, Pete was a stranger to you; you didn’t care. You leaned forward and pressed your lips to his, and he responded immediately, kissing you back eagerly. His lips were soft, full, and applying just the perfect amount of pressure to yours.

“You two want to fuck or get this tattoo.”

You exhaled, pulling away from him. “Can we do both?”
