Hellooo, do you have any recs for well written bls that also deliver on the romance front? My favorites that are both great shows and great love stories are Eighth sense, Old fashioned cupcake and I told the sunset about you ( the 2nd season is great but I dont f with cheating)...
Hello! I am interpreting your ask to mean you want bls that 1) are focused on a Big Love Story as their main purpose and 2) have strong writing that nails the romance, in particular. With that in mind, here's what I would recommend in addition to the ones you already listed, sorted into a few categories.
Dramatic and Swoony
La Pluie
Two soulmates (or are they?) meet, try to figure out their relationship, and decide whether they care what destiny has to say about it. Also features an equally swoony side couple romance. This show is Big Romance all around and very much in conversation with the genre.
I Feel You Linger in the Air
It doesn't get much more epic and swoony than this show about a modern gay man who gets sent back in time and falls in love with a young heir. This one has an asterisk next to the strong writing criteria because things get pretty wobbly in the final arc, but the romance stays strong throughout and it features some of the best bl romance scenes of all time.
Bad Buddy
It's gay Romeo and Juliet, but nobody dies (though importantly, someone does get shot). This one is tumblr famous for a reason!
Romantic Comedy
Cooking Crush
The sweetest romcom Off and Gun have ever made, with a simple love story between a med student and a chef. This show has some flaws--they let a drunk monkey take over the editing booth on a few episodes in the middle--but it's well written and the romance is great.
Cherry Magic Thailand
A remake of the Japanese original, this one shocked most of us by improving on an an already solid show. It's a fantastic romance, alternately funny and poignant and sweet as hell.
Semantic Error
The perfect bl romcom doesn't exis--
Light On Me
A high school love triangle where everyone is likable and the right boy gets the guy.
I Cannot Reach You
High school friends to lovers and done exactly right. This show is so goddamn charming and funny while still managing to get to the underlying angst of this trope. Perfection.
My School President
This one is all first love and high school shenanigans and a ton of original songs that will get stuck in your head.
Comforting and Cozy
Sing My Crush
Here's one for your constant rewatch list. A story of two best friends who love each other instantly but take awhile to make it explicitly romantic, as one of them is hurt and hiding and the other is oblivious yet somehow still devoted. You will love them.
Takara’s Treasure
This is a gentle love story between two lonely people who are exactly the right fit for each other but struggle with their own insecurities.
Our Dating Sim
A second chance romance for two high school friends who meet again as adults after a bad separation. Short and sweet with just the right touch of angst to burrow into your heart.
Angst Baby
At 25:00 in Akasaka
Two actors who first met in college are cast in a bl together, and the lines between their professional and private lives start to blur. This is a really beautiful and evocative show.
Wedding Plan
A gay man who is preparing to marry his lesbian best friend to protect themselves from their families falls in love with his wedding planner. It's a classic romance trope but this show does it so well, with an added layer of queer angst that really deepens the story.
My Beautiful Man
A high school story that centers on a psychologically complex relationship dynamic that will not become fully clear to you until the end (by design, the writing for this show is remarkable). It's not a traditional romance but it is a deeply moving one, and if you like it there's a sequel season and movie that are both also great.
Theory of Love
The messy angst-ridden friends to lovers drama we deserve. Don't skip the special episode, it's one of the rare cases where the special is actually crucial to the story and not just bonus fluff.
My Tooth Your Love
This one is romcom shaped but also deals a lot with trauma, so on balance it's more of an angsty romance. Warning for dentistry (which I recently learned is an issue for a lot of folks on here).
Gameboys 1 and 2
A pandemic-era romance that starts long distance before our boys can come together in real life. Definitely watch both seasons!
Jack O’ Frost
The only bl that has ever used the amnesia trope well. A romance gone wrong that gets an unexpected second chance after an accident forces a reset of their relationship. I found the themes of generosity and forgiveness in this one really moving.
Seven Days
This one is what it says on the tin--spend a week with two teenage boys as they try out dating each other. I really love the structure of this one, and the romance is well done.

The Gym Membership - Part 39 (Crosshair)
Summary: Layla takes time to talk to Avery
A/N: Hello Lovelies,
I apologize for not posting last week, I was slightly injured. My loving brother decided to toss me into the pool when I least expected it, but I ended hitting the bottom of the pool with my heel. Caused me a lot of pain. Anyway, good thing is that nothing is broke.
As promised here are two chapters this week. Enjoy.
Love oo
Warnings: Talking out loud to a grave, grief, guilt, cussing, promises. I think that's it, if I miss any warnings, please let me know.

Layla took a sip of her coffee, as she sat on the blanket Avery gave her as a gift before her sister left for her last deployment. It was almost a month since she had been able to visit Avery’s grave, every time she thought she’d be able to make it, one of her clients ended up calling with an emergency. She missed having their chats, well her one-sided chats.
“… anyway Avery that’s how we ended up celebrating the eighteenth. Don’t get me wrong, despite the drama from that idiot Rob, we all had a really fun time. You would’ve totally loved how tipsy Mel got. She was all over Wrecker, her husband. I’ve mentioned them before. Oh and I met Crosshair’s cousin, Howzer. He was … oh well he was definitely interesting.”
I sat with my back against her headstone.
“Can’t believe it’s already been almost four weeks since then.”
I let out a sigh, focusing on the cloudy sky above, somehow the gloominess reminded me of Crosshair.
“I can see why you and Crosshair found each other by the way. He’s quite talented, he really put on a show at axe throwing. I think if I met him when you were intending to introduce us, I could’ve possibly gotten on board for you two. I mean you’re both stubborn, really good with weapons, know how to captivate an audience. I mean, I’m sure there was more to it than just that, but ... I get it.”
My hand brushed over the grass by my side, as I reflected on Cross and his family, a small smile breaking on my lips.
“His whole family is really sweet. You would’ve loved them and I have no doubt they would’ve loved you. They’ve already taken me in as one of them, and I have to say it … it’s kind of nice, and weird. It’s been so long since I’ve had people care about me … about us. They’re constantly wanting to know more about you, wanting to hear stories about you, wanting to get to know me too, it’s … truthfully, it’s a little overwhelming having so many people care, after it just being you and me for so long. I mean, there’s not a day that goes by that my phone isn’t pinging with a message from one of them. You would’ve gotten along really well with them.”
For some reason, as my eyes focused on one particular cloud, I could feel my insecurities arising within me, “Then again, people always liked you more than me. It’s the lawyer in me, I guess. Maybe. Or it’s just … maybe like you said in our last conversation, maybe I am a stuck-up bitch at times.”
Tears began to prick my eyes, as I thought back to our last conversation, “I miss you. You always were the brave one. Always going after what you wanted. You always gave me the courage I needed.”
My eyes focused on the picture on my cell phone, Avery and me taking a selfie one night after we’d been dancing up a storm. Laughing it up. Living. It made me chuckle remembering that night.
“Oh!” I wiped the tears, “You won’t believe who reached out to me, Dan. I’m sure you remember my scumbag cheating ex-boyfriend. He wanted to get in touch since he was back in town. Can you believe that? Like I would spend any time with him. I remember the first time you called it, it was after I think our second or third date, you told me you didn’t like him. Told me he was a piece of crap and I should find someone better. Man, if only I’d listened to you, I could’ve saved myself fifteen months of heartaches.”
I closed my eyes for a little bit, missing the insults she would’ve hurled regarding Dan if she’d been here by my side.
“Do you remember when we were kids, and we would talk about what we’d be in the future? Where would we be when we were older? No matter what we thought, we always imagined we’d be by each other’s side, but now … now I’m all alone. You’re gone. Mom and dad are gone. There’s no one left.” My voice trails off as I feel a heavy weight on my chest.
Nearly twenty minutes passed, as I sat there watching the clouds go by, thinking back to the night at Battle Axe. Imagining how different it might have been if Avery was alive, no doubt she’d have been three sheets to the wind as well, definitely making comments just like Mel and Zai had been about their own man. A tinge of guilt crawled its way up the back of her throat.
“You would’ve really gotten along with Mel, Zai and Sofie. They’re your kind of people, I mean technically they were your sisters-in-law or sister-in-laws, or would that be sisters-in-laws? Anyway, it doesn’t matter. But, they mentioned something … well they mentioned a lot of things, most of it was clouded by their intoxication and not necessarily because they really meant what they said, but one thing that did stand out and I do believe I should try my very best is getting to know Crosshair better. We didn’t exactly get off on the right foot. I was a bitch to him, for lack of a better word. I blamed him for what happened to you, which wasn’t fair or right. Then I ignored his pain and focused on only what I lost. I know if you were alive you would’ve been disappointed in me, not to mention, you’d probably yell at me and then some, but somehow I just couldn’t see what he was going through, not until … not until the day we lost you.”
My breath hitched, as I felt the tears coming again, I shook my head as I wiped away a tear.
“Avery, what do I do? How do I make up for all the hurt I caused?” I sat there pondering for a while, “I don’t know how to make it up to him, but he’s … he’s a really good guy. So different from all the men I’ve … we’ve known before. Kind yet grumpy. Attentive yet prickly. Despite his cold exterior he has such a soft heart. I know you made him promise, he’d look after me, if you weren’t here and … despite everything I put him through, despite the sheer pain he went through losing you, he’s … he’s actually looking after me. He had every reason to walk away, to give up on his promise to you and he didn’t. He’s … he’s special.” I wiped the tears that were trailing down my cheek, “What am I going to do without you? You were always making sure I was safe, even during the war, you were always taking care of me. Calling, making sure I was safe, and alright … I owe you so much. Avery, I promise I’ll look after him for you. He deserves to have someone look after him.”

Travel Blog: Leipzig Bookfair Saturday
or: Promotion, Innocence and Popcorn
Third Convention day. Return of the 1st Uniform. To be honest I made the Uniform because I was curious if more people would recognize the character overall.
My mood was way better than before, a good night of sleep (7 hours instead of 4) helped a lot, I was happy there were two more convention days ahead and I love the Uniform, it's one of the best pieces I made for myself so far.
I wasn't that looking forward to handling the Innocence though, in before I just wore two (vintage) gloves but as I had made two Innocence arms i wanted to wear them. My friends were prepared to be my helper in case of ... bathroom needs.
After we got a little snack for Tim (there was free Popcorn okay? Yes, we took photos), we went to the Hardball booth for photos and ....
... they even took out the big banner they had and took a photo and posted it. I still can't believe this happened. As I am super insecure regards my cosplays because I was ditched several times in the past because I wasn't thin/pretty enough (talk for another day though) and now I got this and I'm still in awe. I got a special poster as little thank you ;w;
We walked around a lot and took a ton of photos, but it was Saturday you could tell! The hall was pretty crowded early. The most cosplayed series this time was Hazbin Hotel and I have to say it gave the fair such a positive vibe as everyone was just darling, music was played here and there, people sang and danced along. I have literally no idea where the Saturday went.
Let me show you one teaser shot of one of the several photoshoots we did that day. It's from a sequence we randomly came up with as we took photos of the Innocence and I needed to dress up anyways. I'm very looking forward to edit and share the rest of the photos!
I was also able to meet everyone I wanted to meet that day! Kaisaa_Art over from IG, the Lavi I was told about on friday and then even another Lavi. Last year I only had met one other Allen, this is so many cosplayers more ;w;
Also I love my silly bunch.
The day ended somehow way too soon, as said I have no idea where the day went.
Biggest decision that evening was what to order for take out then :'D haha. We left a bit earlier to avoid traffic.
My evening ended with me finally noticing that I ... forgot the pants for the Sunday Outfit. :')
I really should start making lists. Also a shot of Rin, the little bugger who decided I am a trampoline during the night <.<;

Destiel Prompt List 26. Cas punches John Winchester.
Trigger Warnings: homophobic father, bad parenting, homophobic language, mentions of a lot of dead friends/family, slight mentions of alchohol, daddy issues, mentions of suicide but in a not-depressed way, not sure how to put this one but there's like phobic talk about suicidees, derogatory mentions of sex, mentions of past toxic masculinity, mild violence in the form of a single punch, severe homophobia
Guardian Angel
Dean walked into the bar, overwhelmed by... everything.
It was Harvelle's, like before it burned down, and there were so many people there... Ash, Jo and Ellen for one, but also Kevin, Kevin's mom, Charlie, Mary, Bobby, Jody, Claire, Bela, Missouri, Jimmy... somehow he could even spot Benny and Meg. It was overwhelming; all these people he'd mourned, all these people he'd missed, all these people he'd blamed himself for... at least he had Sam and Cas next to him, as always. He missed Jack.
He smiled. He talked to people, he laughed, he cried a little. It was weird seeing who'd become friends with who without them there; Jody and Ellen were best friends, unsuprisingly. Charlie and Bela? A little more suprising. He greeted Benny like an old war friend, Bobby like a father, Jo like a girl he never got time with. All the while, Sam was next to him, greeting the same people, and Cas was next to him, silent unless provoked. Eventually, they made their way to the end of the bar, and Dean's breath halted. His dad was sitting there, staring at his whiskey.
"Hi." He says, unsure. Sam's still talking to Jody. Cas is still hovering. "Sit down.", says John, and Dean's not sure if it's an invitation or an order, so he does so silently. He knows he should talk; knows he can talk. He's not his dad's soldier anymore. He's been working on this.
.... but he's here and he's with Cas and his dad would kill him and he's so goddamn nervous because even after all the work of accepting himself now that his dad was dead, his dad is right here and if he dissaproves like Dean knows he will Dean will just die.
"So." John says eventually. "So." Dean agrees. "Go out with a fight?" His dad asks. "Nope. Our work was done down there, we've got things set up for the next generation of hunters. We just figured, why wait around? Everyone we missed are up here." His dad physically recoiles. "You killed yourself!? My son? BOTH my sons!? Suicide is for pussies, Dean, how many times have I told you!" Dean closes his eyes and grits his teeth. He's about to answer when Cas does it for him.
"Dean did not just 'kill himself'. They both thought about it for a long time, had plentifull discussions and okay'd it with everyone around. It was an important, unrushed decision that was well thought about, and everything was in order before we left. Do you believe I would have let Dean do such a thing if it wasn't a perfectly respecatable thing to do?" "Ah. So you're the guardian angel... you did a pretty piss-poor job, y'know-" "Dad. Don't talk to Cas like that." "Cas? Cas? His name, Dean, is Castiel. Oh, right you- you bang him or something? He bangs you? This- this destiel? It's all everyone talks about here, y'know, how my son is a fag for an angel. Is that true, Dean? You bend over for this guy?" Dean grits his teeth. "Yeah, Dad. I do. Cause I love him, and if you're too much of a homophobic prick to see that, then go screw yourself. Actually- leave. Just leave."
John crowds Dean. Dean tries not to feel small- it works. Kinda. "You pickin' him-" John hisses, venom in his voice, "- over me? Your father?" "You. Were. Never. My. Father. You were my drill sargeant. Bobby, was my father. Now fucking leave, before I punch you. Or, y'know, before I let Cas punch you. Since I don't have any issues with my boyfriend protecting me like I'm some princess, because I'm not insecure about that shit 'nymore. Now, LEAVE."
"YOU-" John's sentence, boiling with rage, was cut off when Cas actually punched him, which knocked him out. "Sorry. It seemed appropriate.", Cas says sheepishly. Dean stares a second.
"Gah I love you." he falls into Cas's arms. It takes a while for him to speak again. "Did I actually say all of that?" "Yes Dean." "I can't believe I said all of that. I actually called myself a princess." Cas chuckles at that. "Yes, I know." "Shit. Everyone is staring, aren't they." "Yes, I believe they are." "Okay. Um. I'm gonna stay here." "Alright Dean."

I'm giving the may prompt list by @creativepromptsforwriting a try! :) tysm I'm in love with these cute prompt ideas!
My setting for all of these will be The Walking Dead cause I'm an obsessed wreck :D Pairing: Magna x Yumiko :)
Feel free to let me know what you think about these two beans! Also I'm german and my writing might be slightly off sometimes. I just started exploring writing english prompts and I definitely do feel insecure about it. Please be kind <3
1. Strawberries
“Are you serious?!” Magna said and eyed Yumiko down. She shook her head, uncomprehendingly. “You can't be serious, Miko.”
“It's not my fault, Magna.”
Magna's eyes were flickering between the woman and the strawberries on the table. The anger did not only show in her tone but also the corners of her eyes and mouth. Her arms were crossed in front of her chest. One hand kept drumming onto her own upper arm.
It was impossible to miss how annoyed Magna was. And she had all right to be.
Yumiko didn't want to argue. Not during the short amount of time they had. It was only a handful of days a month that Magna visited her in her apartment.
Mostly because they had this weird thing going on.
The shower arrangement.
Because Yumiko could not stand the fact that Magna had to shower with ice-cold water at the workers' settlements on most days.
They had spoken briefly after the ball. Just a little small talk to catch up. They hadn’t had the chance to see each other before and Yumiko still cared so much about Magna.
Well, if Yumiko was being honest with herself, there would have been chances.
Definitely.
But she never overcame her fear and anger, though.
Until suddenly Magna had served her that fancy wine. Yumiko had found her incredibly stunning. After that, both had been enormously tipsy around each other.
Nevertheless, arguments weren’t rare occasions when they met. They still hadn’t had the time to figure things out.
Yumiko just wanted to be with Magna and feel her with every fiber of her body again.
Magna slipped away though.
“But you do know that Daryl and all the other parents, caregivers, whatever you want to call them… they need to wait at least an hour in the food line to get their kids some kind of shitty mashed potatoes and beans. And they are giving you damn strawberries?! Not fair.”
“I know you are upset. I know you don't like this way of life. And neither do I.”
“Yeah, sure.” Magna scuffed impatiently.
Yumiko went on and ignored Magna's snappy comment.
“I didn't ask for this. It just happened to me. I’m in love with the fact that we are safe from the sickos here. But I hate you guys being treated badly. I am trying to make things better, trust me.”
Yumiko dared to take a step toward Magna. And the other woman froze.
“In fact, you love how things are done here. I mean… the CommonWealth got you your old life back. You do love that, Miko.” Magna made eye contact. An intense sting hit Yumiko right in the guts. She couldn’t disagree. Because it was the achy truth.
“And that's kind of the whole damn point.” Magna continued with a sigh. ”People being at the top also means people being at the bottom. And they suffer. Daily, Miko.”
“I know how this works. And I am hating it.” Miko pleaded again.
She couldn’t stand how Magna somehow thought she liked what Pamela did to the lower class. Yumiko swallowed the paragraph forming in her head, all about how she studied society models and how she went on anti-capitalist student protests. She couldn’t deny the thoughts of defense but wanted to calm the waves.
“Look. I didn't touch the strawberries. I saved them for you.” Yumiko told her in honesty, cracking a weak smile.
Something in Magna’s eyes twitched.
“Who says I would want you to?” Magna pointed a nasty look toward the berry bowl.
“Back then in prison? I visited you on this very hot summer day. And you told me you loved berries. And that there never were berries in prison. I want to make things easier for you, Magna. I can't get myself into the lower class. Not as Milton’s lawyer. I can't switch. But I can fight from my point of being. I can still fight for you.”
Big brown eyes seemed to absorb Yumiko while talking.
Finally, Magna lowered her arms. Her gaze softened.
“You’d still do that?” Magna asked quietly. The question sounded insanely vulnerable.
“Ride or die, remember?” Yumiko reassured. She tilted her head a little. Arms down by her sides, trying to convey openness and support. And love, of course. Always love.
Because Yumiko loved Magna.
“Ride or die.” Magna nodded and all at once her walls broke down. She wrapped her arms around Yumiko’s waist and pulled her in. The gesture was so close and sudden that Yumiko forgot to breathe for a moment. Then she inhaled Magna slowly squeezing her even tighter to feel more of her.
Yumiko felt a trace of fingertips on her back making its way up between her shoulder blades. Magna nestled her face into Miko’s neck and pressed a kiss onto the soft skin.
“I missed you.” Yumiko whispered into her ear.
“Me too.”
Yumiko was gently loosening her grip on Magna’s body only to take a strawberry and hold it in front of Magna’s mouth.
“Do you even remember how these taste?” Yumiko asked with a grin. Magna’s eyebrows rose. “I could never forget that.” They shared a sheepish look before Magna took a bite of the strawberry.
“Holy shit!” Her eyes grew wide. “Just taste it already!”
Yumiko took her advice into action immediately. Holding Magna close as she put the berry in her own mouth now. It tasted amazing.
“I get why you are in love with berries.” Miko agreed. Both of them chuckled lightly.
“What do you think about me sharing with you then?” Magna bit her bottom lip staring right into Miko’s eyes.
“I’d like that.”

Sure Gonna Miss Him
decided to visit Hawkeye in his hometown hoping that he’d be okay. The Hawkeye from Korea and the at home Hawkeye soon turned out to be two different people, in a good way.
The Hawkeye in Korea wasn’t happy, used humor to deflect his pain, and well, was a raging alcoholic. The at home Hawkeye was still unhappy, but seemed semi-comfortable, and above all, well. He was clean shaven, too. Much to my surprise, and he had BJ with him.
“Father!” Hawkeye cheered after I knocked on his door. “How’s it going Father?” BJ asked, as I walked in.
“Oh, very well my son. Say, you two have a nice place.” “Thank you, Father.” They said, in unison.
I smiled, and they asked if I wanted to join them for dinner. I agreed, and to my surprise Hawkeye cooked while BJ set the table.
Dinner was made and set. I was given a glass of red wine, while the other two drank martinis left and right.
“So, Father, what brings you to our humble abode?” “I’m checking in on everyone from the unit. You two were second on the list, after the colonel, of course.”
They both smiled, “missed us that much, Father?”
“Of course! But, I must tell you who I’m visiting next. Hawk, you know him personally.”
I saw BJ shoot a look at Hawkeye, who had the biggest grin on his face.
“Let me take a shot in the dark, here. Could it be Trapper?” “Correct! I was wondering if, maybe, you’d like to accompany me in seeing him?”
BJ stared at Hawkeye for the longest time.
“I’d love to. Just to see how he’s doing.”
I smiled, but then looked over at BJ.
“Is everything okay, my son?” “Oh, yeah sure. Really okay.”
Hawkeye sighed. “Beej, it’s just a visit. What’s the worst that could happen?”
“You fall in love with him.” “BJ, he’s married. Happily too. I couldn’t ruin that.”
BJ nodded, and said, “okay.”
We finished dinner, and headed up to Boston, Massachusetts. Hawkeye seemed very excited, while BJ was less than thrilled.
We arrived in Boston, and immediately looked for Trapper. BJ huffed a lot, and I could tell that he was uneasy.
“Father?” “Yes, my son?” “May I speak to you? Alone?” “Of course, my son.”
BJ explained to me that he was worried that Hawkeye would fall back in love with Trapper. I tried my best to let him know that it just wasn’t possible. To my surprise, Hawkeye left with Trapper, and BJ had just had it at that point.
“I told you that he would leave.” “That’s it! Hawkeye wasn’t going to say this, but I am. You’re insecure. You’re so scared that Hawkeye is going to leave you for a man that left without saying one final goodbye. He’s not that shallow, and he clearly loves you. Unless you somehow screwed up over the years, he wouldn’t leave you for the first guy he meets!”
BJ looked at me, and relaxed.
“I-I’m sorry, father.” “It’s quite all right, my son. I’m sorry for being strict.”
We both walked for a while to see if we could find either Hawkeye or Trapper. Low and behold, we found them in a diner seeming to be splitting a milkshake.
“Are they sharing a milkshake?” “It appears so, but I can’t tell for certain. Let’s head in before we assume the worst.”
BJ and I saw Hawkeye and Trapper talking while having two different milkshakes. Much to BJ’s relief.
I sat next to Trapper, and BJ sat next to Hawkeye.
“So, you’re the infamous Trapper McIntyre.” “That’s me! And you are?” “BJ Hunnicutt.”
Trapper beamed brightly when he heard that. Hawkeye looked rather smitten.
“Ain’t he grand?”Hawkeye and Trapper exchanged smiles, and then averted their heads to BJ. “Oh, he’s just a delight.”
I could tell that BJ was being sarcastic, but it appeared that the other two didn’t care.
“Hey, Trapper?” “Yes, Father?” “Are you still married?” “Nope! Divorced soon after I came home. It was ugly, but hey. I’m free now.”
Trapper winked at Hawkeye. Hawkeye’s eyes got wider, and he blushed a bright red. BJ rolled his eyes.
“That’s wonderful news, Trapper.” “Thank you. Say, your friend Charles and I worked together once he came back as well. He’s a bit pretentious, but he means well.” “I know. What did he say?” “He misses you, and hopes that you’re doing well. He did threaten to punch me, though.” “The note incident?” “Yes. I did write a note, but I suppose that Frank threw it out. Along with the rest of my things.” “You left me a note?!” “Yes!” “Damn that Frank. I’m glad that you cleared that up, though.” “Of course!”
BJ watched as Trapper’s hand overlapped Hawkeye’s. Much to his dismay. A waitress set us with menus and then took down our drink orders. BJ ordered a martini and I ordered a Sprite. The waitress left, and we resumed our conversation.
“Trap?” “Yes, Hawkeye?” “I missed you.” “I missed you too. I’m so sorry for not getting that last goodbye in. I have a question, though.” “Yes?” “Will you go out with me?”
I choked on my Sprite, and BJ’s eyes were wide.
“I’d love to, Trap.”
I saw BJ’s eyes start to get glossy.
“Really?” “Yes. But, I’ll have to see what BJ thinks.” “I forbid it.” “Oh Beej, explain.” “Hawkeye, you and I are together!” “You barely remember our anniversary and my birthday! You compare me to Peg constantly! Forget it, BJ!” “Don’t be like that, Hawkeye.” “We’re through, Hunnicutt. Go find Peg.” “Fine!” “Fine!”
I followed BJ out, and tried to get some sense talked into him.
“Father?” “What in Hell’s name is wrong with you?!” “Look, I don’t keep up with dates anymore.” “That’s besides the point! Comparing the man that you fell for to your ex wife is wrong! They’re nothing alike!” “But Father-“ “DON’T you ‘but Father’ me! Listen to me Hunnicutt, put your foot down before you lose Hawkeye for good.” “What if I already did?” “Then you should’ve thought about your actions beforehand. Trapper was his first actual love. Don’t make him be the last.”
BJ nodded, and we went back to the diner, and sat down. But in silence.
“Hawkeye?” “Yes, BJ?” “Are you sure that you want Trapper? I mean, really.” “Trapper remembered my birthday. He remembers that day we met. HE didn’t compare ME to his ex wife, who I share NOTHING with.” “Look Hawkeye, I’m really sorry-“ “Sorry? SORRY?! Sorry isn’t going to make me forget everything that you’ve told me! Every time you’ve compared me to Peg! Forget it! Go find someone else! I’m done!” “Hawkeye, honey…you can’t be serious. Think about all the good years that we shared.” “I am! The hell with you! The only ‘good years’ were when we were in California!” “Hawkeye…” “Out, Hunnicutt. I never want to see you again.” “Baby…” “Go. Now.” “But, I love you so.” “Please let me go. It’s not love, it’s lust, BJ.”
BJ got up from the table, and went outside. I paid for our drinks, and followed him once more, but waited for him to speak.
“I blew it Father.” “I’m sorry, my son.” “What am I going to do?” “I don’t know, my son. I wish I did.” “How did I let this happen?” “It just happened that way. Sometimes, we go back to those who loved us first. Sometimes, we don’t.” “I’m sure gonna miss him.” “I know. Have you ever told Hawkeye just how much he meant to you?” “I don’t think so. I never said that I loved him, I took his affection for granted... I really messed up.”
I didn’t know what to say. Hearing all of that really made sense as to why Hawkeye went back to Trapper.
I walked him to the bus station, and waited with him until his bus picked him up. We waved to each other until he was out of sight. I decided to go back to See how Trapper and Hawkeye were doing. To my surprise they were laughing like old times.
“Hey, Father! You’re back!”
“Indeed I am, gentlemen.”
Trapper smiled at me, and then turned his attention back to Hawkeye.
“Hey Father, watch this! When’s my birthday, Trap?” “That would be February 16th, 1922.” “Correct! What day did we meet?” “June 25th, 1950.” “Correct again!” “Who am I not like?” “My ex wife!” “We have a winner! God, I missed you.” “I missed you too. Say, after Father Mulcahy eats, we can all go back to my place.” “Sounds great! Right, Father?” “Right! That is, if I’m not intruding.” “Of course not! You’re always welcomed to my place.”
I smiled, and the waitress brought out my food. Trapper paid for it, and off we went. Trapper’s place was really nice. And, he and Hawkeye were getting along just as much as I thought. Trapper received a call from BJ though. It was then passed down to Hawkeye. I couldn’t make out the conversation, but it wasn’t good.
“Father?” “Yes?” “A moment, please?”
I got up, and walked over to where Hawkeye and Trapper were.
“Everything okay?” “Not exactly. He found my number and is now pleading with me to send Hawkeye back. I’m not going to force Hawkeye to be miserable.” “I understand. That’s a good decision, Trapper. I say that you unplug the phone for the rest of the night.” “Good choice, Father. Are you okay, Hawk?” “I will be. Let’s get some sleep, yeah?” “Of course. Father, the guest bedroom is down the hall to your left. First door.” “Thank you.” “What about me, Trap?” “We can share a bed. I have a king sized bed for a reason.”

What it is — fez x sisterOC x cassie
A/N: thank you 😊 this will be written a little different since me writing fez as a sibling as the main focus is different for me 😆 but it also gives me a chance to write for Cassie although she’s slightly on my shit list after episode two tbfh. Anyways hope you enjoy this documentary style piece which was also inspired by the documentary I watched last night before I watched euphoria, “Adrienne”
WARNINGS: Nate being a possessive psychotic piece of trash :) , written interviewer/documentary style by a later possible oc if/when I write a Elliot piece, language, + graphic imagery if you get squeamish. Small italics/bold = oc for Elliot speaking & Italics is rue speaking.

This is the story of Ivory also know as “Vori” by the rest of us and “Ivy” by her brothers. It does not end well or the way that it should’ve.
What was your relationship to Ivory?
Fez doesn’t hesitate to answer, “that’s family, always was and always will be. The universe picked me to be the big brother to two-three people and I’m forever grateful for that time.”
Vori had her own mind and spoke it often. Most of the time I think she said shit just to get a reaction out of you…since majority of the time when she finished saying what she had to say, she would gaze at you as if she was analyzing you before you responded. It was weird as fuck at times or maybe it was just me! since I’m always paranoid when I’m high and my mind is always running like a black eyed peas track.
What was she like?
“Nothing you can imagine,” Jules held the stare of the interviewer for a few moments, “She was confident, head always up and never down. I often joked with her that her and Maddy needed to have a runway battle against each other in the hallways. Yet Vori was so flat footed, seriously. Her feet would slap against the floor, almost like she would have to drag them with each step but it somehow still looked professional? It’s weird I know. Everything she did she made it her own.”
Just like anyone, Vori most likely had her own flaws. Sure she walked with her tribal tatted shoulders relaxed, golden curly long hair bouncing with each step. Beauty is subjective but I always thought she was secretly this mythical creature—I already told you that she always stared at people strangely like she could figure them out if you just gave her the time.
Did you notice any insecurities with Ivory?
Maddy frowned as she looked around, “I don’t know, we’re fucking teenagers. It’s possible yeah. She was stunning though but never paid too much attention to herself—of course you could tell she took care of herself very well but that bitch made me question my sexuality for sure. The Beyoncé locks, the feline features, the height, the muscular body, the tatts, bronzed glowy skin, and the face card without even trying? Don’t play with her. And that’s coming from me, a certified pretty bitch.”
Vori didn’t pay much attention to her physical features. Sure the very first time she had the chance to get in front of a mirror, she analyzed herself too, to see what other people saw: the large ears hidden behind her thick hair whenever she decided to pull her hair back, the wide bridge nose with a bulbous tip, and full heart shaped lips…but there was more to her than just her appearance. She had other things to worry about growing up on Skid Row with a mother who turned to prostitution just for her and her siblings to eat. Vori had blood siblings before she came into Fez’s life but she never talked about them.
It was probably too fucking traumatic to. The story goes: (in which Vori ran it down to me one night) she was of Samoan heritage originally born in Hawaii then raised in Canada until her father got locked up. Don’t ask me what he did but clearly it was bad enough to where her mother relocated Vori and her four sibs back to the states. Her mother was originally from Georgia and considered going back there until her own mother’s thoughts haunted her.
So she chose Texas for about a year and that left her with four children to look after instead of five. Vori apparently had a older brother but once they got to Texas…everything changed as it always seemed to for her. In her words, she no longer had a brother. “He’s not dead, I’d know if he was but I don’t have one anymore.” Was her words on the subject.
Then that left Vori to be the eldest sibling while still being a kid her damn self. That’s usually how it is. Her connection to fez was through her mother, her mother knew fez’s mother when she stripped part time when the streets weren’t looking so hot for her. Fez never knew his mother but Vori vaguely did. Marie, Fez’s grandmother, who adored her daughter and got to know Vori’s mother briefly brought her back home one night in which she met Vori carrying a baby on her hip and holding another one’s hand.
Marie could tell something was wrong with the rising fire in both of her eyes, which were two opposite colors. One eye was so dark, the color of black motor oil, and the other so bright green it reminded her of spring rain. Vori’s shirt was ripped and hanging off one shoulder, while her chest was covered in bloody scratches. Marie noticed that Vori would look over her shoulder towards a tent every few seconds until her mother climbed out the car.
“Everything alright, honey?” Marie was the first to ask, leaning over the console to look at the girl who set her eyes on the blonde woman.
Vori stepped back from her mother cradling her face, which Marie also noticed. Vori’s mother quickly snatched the baby from her arms and spun to face the woman in the car.
“We’re good. These are my kids, Ivory’s the eldest, she takes care of things while I’m workin’. She’s a fast learner and these are my other two and I’ve got one more in the house that shouldn’t be alone right now.” She sent a stern look at Vori who matched the stare, “we best get goin’. Say goodnight to Ms. Marie, babies. Thanks again for the ride.”
It only took one day for Marie to come back. She thanked the woman upstairs that she did, after getting her money that she was owed that afternoon, she drove back to the familiar street in search of the tent she stored in her memory. Vori was being dragged from the tents by her thick curly hair and most watched on or pretended not to hear. It was a man that pulled her along and it didn’t take long for Marie to hop out the car with her shotgun to take the girl into her care.
Marie didn’t have time to ask too many questions, all she saw was a girl being manhandled in a shitty situation she didn’t ask for and she did what she thought was best. “You’re coming with me, ivy baby. Where’s everyone else?”
A shake of her head was all Marie needed to know. A brief search in the tent while Vori grabbed her things and a few sentiments, Marie saw more blood from splattered to pooling and already assumed the worst for Vori’s family. So Marie took her home to meet her boys: Fez, who was confused but gentle on his approach and Ashtray who seemed to cross his chubby baby arms in annoyance.
It was rocky in the beginning with Vori’s abandonment issues, picking fights with the boys, running away for half the night, and wondering if this was temporary but she learned to adjust once she realized this was home now.
What did she enjoy doing?
Kat laughed after pushing her glasses further up the bridge of her nose, “a lot of things. Everyone knows that she kept in shape, broad shoulders and nice abs. She’s the fastest person I know in our entire school but she quit the track team after two weeks since she didn’t like the way the coach was barking at everyone. She was all, ‘I’m on my own team.’ And I think that says enough.”
“Fez and I are were the best in math. Ivy on the other hand? She scrambled numbers up easily…so fucking easily. She was more on the science whiz level, so she was smart in that way. Not some dumb athlete like the motherfuckers who thought they knew her like to say. She also loved mysteries, solving them. Fuck. Clue and Candyland are her favorite board games.” Ashtray spoke before falling silent, lost in thought before he slammed his hands down on the table in anger.
What do you think happened on January 3rd?
Rue sniffed then pressed a palm right on top of her hoodie as she pushed her lips out before answering, “I think we already know what happened considering who’s in jail right now, no? I also think you should ask Cassie that.”
Kat rubbed at her arms feeling uncomfortable at the shift in questions, “I…don’t think two people…the only two people that are alive are telling the whole truth? I look into conspiracy theories sometimes and people talk around here of course. Vori was a cool person, I never had any problems with her. She was like this Amazon goddess. Maybe we weren’t the best of friends like her and Cass but she didn’t deserve what she got. That’s what I know.”
“I think we’re in a corrupt system and people need to stop holding the jacob’s family to such a high fucking standard. They’re not good people,” Jules muttered, “they ruin everything they touch or get near. They did it to Maddy, me, Cassie and Vori. Except now, one of us is dead.”
Maddy popped her lips after sitting quiet for some time at the question. She then began rolling her neck as she pointed a finger at the camera, “I think Nate and Cassie are fucking liars and I told the detectives that. I just find it so ironic that Vori texted me asking if we could meet up so she could talk to me about something important. I kept calling her just like I did Nate and Cassie that night. The only difference is Vori’s call kept getting dropped. It would only ring for a little bit and then disconnect. She knew something and she was going to come clean…which is something those backstabbing assholes couldn’t even do.”
“I think what happened resulted in a unfortunate tragedy,” Lexi was careful with her words, “it was a accident and my sister also fell victim to Nate Jacob’s ways. I don’t blame Fez or Ash for getting justice. You’ll do anything for family if you love them enough.”
Elliot pinched at his nose, “I know I lost a friend that night. And I know when we did get the chance to have conversations…she would tell me that she had so much love to give but was struggling to give it to the right people based on her own past. We’re all fucked up, don’t get me wrong but I know for a fact that was directed towards that girl, the blonde…Cassie. Vori loved that girl but it’s clear Cassie craves validation from guys who only like to leech—to take rather than return the love she’s seeking.”
What was your reaction to hearing the news of Ivory’s untimely death?
Lexi rested a hand against her cheek, “I didn’t know what to say or what to think. I just needed to make sure my sister was okay first since they were becoming closer…and then fez.”
“Total disbelief. And when I got the details on how she was found…I just couldn’t believe it.” Kat answered, eyes wide.
Jules sighed, “it didn’t sound right to me from the very beginning. Rue was the one who told me, I thought she was shitting me because well…my girlfriend likes to exaggerate sometimes but when I pulled up I knew. Cops everywhere and the looks on both of her brother’s faces? I was positive the apocalypse was coming.”
“I asked questions. Cassie was moving funny and I pressed her because she’s been acting funny since New Years and I was sick of it. I just think Vori’s death pushed me to the edge. Especially since I knew she had to tell me something and my gut was telling me that it had something to do with a girl that I thought was my best friend, my soulmate.” Maddy shook her head, “and now we know the truth. Fuck Cassie and fuck Nate.”
Elliot rubbed at his face, “I was gutted. Vori was one of two of my best friends. She let me be me with no judgements. I kept calling her but he obviously there was no answer. I wasn’t sure how I was going to cope…she was so special. Came into my life before I got to know rue. I wish she could have stayed, you know?”
What happens now after the events that took place on January 3rd?
Fez pressed his tongue into his cheek, bare elbows pressed into the table in front of him as he moved to fold his hands together, the cuffs clinking as he did so. “My brother and I got justice for my sister. However it doesn’t bring her back but it’s bittersweet to know Nate jacobs wont be a problem anymore unless his brain suddenly becomes alive again. We both serve our time, Nate rots in a bed, and Cassie will get to live her life—not without the guilt eating away at her for however long she can take it.”
JAN. 3rd, 8:46PM
“Stay right there you log of shit.” Ivory warned, shotgun pressed right to Nate’s abdomen as he carefully held his hands up in surrender.
She saw Cassie take off into the construction of houses, away from Nate’s truck, and sure Ivory wasn’t aware of the context of what happened inside of the vehicle but she knew the girl she cared for was running for a reason. Ivory wasn’t going to question it much, she just hoped Cassie had some sense to call this quits tonight.
After all, Cassie did send her her location earlier that evening. Ivory knew Cassie felt safe with her and despite ivory knowing what Cassie was doing behind Maddy’s back, she still stood beside her. Ivory knew not to turn her back on Nate, he was a unhinged person and seemed to like the new features on his face that her big brother, Fez gave him. It seemed as if he wore it with pride tonight as she slowly backed away, a smirk appeared on his lips.
It was creepy as hell but ivory wasn’t afraid to pull the trigger either. When she created enough distance between them she began calling out to Cassie first before she took off into a sprint. Ivory could hear Nate doing the same; way behind her.
“Cassie,” Ivory breathed as she caught sight of the blond hiding behind the wall of a unbuilt house.
Cassie frowned, “Ivory, what’re you doing here?”
“You sent me your location and I had a feeling you’d be with Nate.” She stated, “I knew it wouldn’t be a one time thing with you two.”
“What’s that supposed to mean, Vori?” Her defense was slowly coming up.
Ivory sighed, “can we discuss this someplace else? away from psycho nate? He’s running around here after you as if this is the hunger games and I’ll put him down if I have to.”
“He told me I was a mistake.” Cassie’s voice wavered.
“…after you told him that having sex with him was…? Why does it matter?” Ivory stepped closer and checked over her shoulder.
Cassie glared, “it matters because I said the action was a mistake not him. He said me as if I’m the problem here.”
“Fuck him. He’s got issues himself and he’s projecting on you, Cass. I told you that you needed to dead this shit but here we are—
Cassie’s eyes went wide and it took a mere second for Ivory to turn to meet Nate charging at her and she did not have enough time to cock her gun. Down to the floor the two went with Ivory’s head hitting the ground beneath her. Her vision spun along with the weight of the gun and Nate pressing into her torso.
Nate gritted into Ivory’s face, “looks like the only issue here is you.”
He yanked the gun from Ivory’s hands and tossed it to the side. Once he sat up with both knees around her hips, he then took his hands and wrapped them around ivory’s throat and squeezed.
Cassie let out a scream, “Nate! What the hell are you doing?! Get off her!”
That didn’t stop Ivory from fighting back, whacking her palms against Nate’s face and throat. That only made Nate laugh, although there was still some sort of power beneath her hands. Next he took her by the throat and began slamming her head repeatedly against the ground and not stopping even when she began to bleed.
“Stop it!” Cassie yelled, running over to pull Nate off her friend but he only shoved her to the floor too.
Nate replied, “you know…I’m getting real tired of this bitch that wants what’s mine. Can’t you see Cassie, she wants your sweet pussy as much as I do!? There’s no possible future for you two, never. I think we should do something about that, don’t you?”
He got to his feet while Cassie attempted to crawl over to ivory who seemed to be wheezing for breath as her vision was fading in and out to black. Cassie halted as soon as he went to stand over ivory and reached down to yank her up by the throat, before getting her into a headlock. Ivory thrashed against him but Nate could feel that she was getting weaker by the second and that brought him immense joy.
Watching his surroundings he dragged her to the edge, squeezing tighter and tighter to the point he was lifting her off her feet. Her elbows went to jam at his ribs but he only faltered a little with a laugh, the pain felt so good to him.
He wondered what Ivory was feeling in this moment.
“Nate! You’re gonna kill her, please stop!” Cassie yelled.
Nate stopped his movements looking at cassie, “do you want to be with me or her cassie? What if she tells Maddy about us, then what?!”
“She won’t.”
“I don’t know. I think she might, especially if you don’t give her some to get her to shut the fuck up! And that’s not something I’ll allow you to do. You’re my mistake, not her’s.” He told Cassie who was on her knees with tears streaming down her face.
Nate watched Cassie for a moment crying over someone who wasn’t all that important. She looked so beautiful, like a scared puppy.
“N-Nate. Vori is my friend, she won’t ever hurt me. She’s a good friend and she loves me and I love her—
Wrong words.
It all happened so quick with Nate quickly letting go of Vori’s body, which wobbled. He side stepped her, gripped her shoulders and shoved her back, leaving Cassie to watch in horror as Ivory’s body flew from their sight. The blonde teen scrambled to her feet to run to the edge, tears locked in her throat. And what she saw over the edge, she felt herself scream but couldn’t hear.
Nate scoffed out a laugh at the image of Ivory impaled on some wood, before her body fully dropped further to the ground with a loud crunch. He balled out a fist to block out the noise that wanted to escape his lips. When he turned back around, he saw Cassie running for the gun but he tackled her to the ground as she screamed and fought against him.
He gave her moment but when it seemed like it was taking too long for her to calm down, he knew the best way how. To put his mouth where he knew she wanted him the most.
What did the autopsy of Ivory reveal and why was this accidental death quickly switched to murder?
The medical examiner answered, “the police enforcement was so set on it being accidental based on the way in which they found the deceased. Ivory was found completely impelled by a wooden beam, it pierced straight through her aorta which should have killed her instantly. That was not the cause of death, her cause of death was her broken neck. The wooden beam showed smudges trailing downwards which indicates she stayed in the middle due to the force she fell or was pushed, before abruptly falling through. the beam was able to pass through tissues quickly enough to where she fell completely down. Once her head hit the ground, her neck was broken.”
“I believe it’s evident she was pushed, based on the amount of neck compression I was able to see from the outside and also internally. There was also blood and brain matter exposed from the area above in which ‘she fell’ or was pushed. Meaning the person that did this to her did not do a well enough job to clean the area above.” The medical examiner explained her findings.
Is there anything you’d like to say to Ivory?
Cassie was a full on a sobbing mess that Lexi had to console her sister and it took three takes for her to pull herself together. “I’m working on becoming a better person for…for not only you but for me. Losing you Vori, had changed my life and I’m so sorry. I wish this didn’t happen and that I listened better. Maybe you’d still be here and you’d be in my future but for now you’re genuine soul remains in my dreams.”
She pressed a kiss to her fingertips and then held them upwards before she felt herself breaking down once again.
Cassie is seen sitting beside Ivory on a couch, thighs touching and holding hands. Ivory is rolling her eyes at a outstretched freckled hand that tugs on one of her large ears covered in piercings.
“If you keep bothering me fez, you might turn up missing and ash won’t be here to save you.” She smacked his arm, leaning away into Cassie who laughed watching the two in amusement.
“Yeah aight.”
A voice cleared behind the camcorder gaining the attention of Ivory and Cassie, Cassie seemed ready for whatever was being taped, while ivory kept getting distracted by her brother.
“Everybody ready?”
“Yes, y/n.” Cassie nudged Ivory’s shoulder who sighed before taking a big gulp of her iced apple tea.
“So ivory, let’s start with you. Where do you see yourself in five years?”
Ivory threw her head back, “I HATE this question, y/n. I don’t even know where I’ll be tomorrow or the next few days! I’m just taking life as it’s throw at me.”
“Oh come on, don’t tell me you haven’t thought about it?” Cassie’s blue eyes stared into Ivory’s multi-colored ones, “it’s a brain teaser sure but it could be anything. I hope to be a pro figure skater for the Olympics and settled down by thirty at the least.”
Ivory hummed, “that’s the dream huh, cass?”
“Maybe.” Cassie smiled, “your turn.”
“I don’t know about settling down but sure I’d like to be in love someday.” The camera seemed to zoom in on Ivory who playfully side eyed Cassie before continuing, “I’d like to be far from this town, maybe take everyone that I vibe with here back to Hawaii where we can just be carefree. Living the true peace of island life. Career wise? I don’t freaking know, something with science. A conservationist? Who knows.”
Ivory smiled at the camera, “happy. I just want to have happiness and be happy in five years…there does that satisfy you, y/n?”
“Yeah,i guess that’ll do.”
Ivory scoffed at the camera then stuck her tongue out just as Cassie went to wrap her arms around her waist and Fez, Ash, Rue, Jules, and Elliot all jumped into their laps just as the film paused on their smiles, freezing this moment for what it is.
And what it was.

Stray Kids Reaction | Uses Your Insecurities Against You [Request]
`A/N: The anon is right by the way you’re all beautiful in every way possible, including the anon that requested this. I love you all! Stunning, beautiful peopl all of you! ~ M
CHAN: Insecurity: Clingy
Chan rubbed the bridge of his nose as he stared at the screen in front of him trying to grab some ideas from the air, he had been suffering with writer's block and it was starting to get to him. Normally if he was suffering with it he would call you over, you were his constant muse but this week he wanted nothing more than to be left alone. He was stressed from being put under pressure from his managers to finished a certain amount of songs, as well as making sure he and the rest of the boys were staying on top of their practice. Everything was just piling up on top of him and he didn't need you around to add to the pile, as much as he loved you being there he just needed some peace and quiet which he soon realised wasn't going to happen,
"Jisung told me you were feeling shitty so I bought your favourite snacks," Your voice that was normally heavenly to Chan only made him cringe as he realised you were here.
"Hey babe, do you mind coming back later? I really need to get this done," He turned around on his chair to face you, trying to get you to leave quickly before things went south but you stood your ground, placing the small basket of food down onto the coffee table.
"I also got your favourite hot drink, I figured you could use a pick me up." You began explaining everything that was in the basket but it only annoyed him more as you listed everything, ignoring his request for you to leave.
"We can sit on the sofa and eat while you relax for a while-"
"Fuck! Have you always been this clingy or is it just as of late?" Your heart sunk as you stared at Chan who was red in the face, it was now that you took in his dishevelled appearance it looked like he'd slept less than usual and he was clearly beating himself up over something so you let the comment pass.
"I was just- I wanted to make sure you were okay," Your voice cracked as you tried to get over the comment, moving closer to Chan who simply rolled away from you on the chair and shook his head at you.
"I want you to leave. You're so fucking clingy! I can't do anything without you being right there on top of me, it's exhausting having a partner who doesn't know what space is!" He was yelling loudly enough that the staff outside his studio had stopped speaking to hear what was happening in the office but you felt like you shrunk in size as he yelled at you so without another word you left him there. Chan knew how insecure you were about being considered clingy, your exes had all said the same thing to you so when you began dating Chan you told him about it, not wanting to have the same problem. You never thought, in a million years, that he of all people would use it against you.
(X)
Later that night there was a knock on your apartment door, thinking it was just the food you'd ordered for yourself you got up to answer it to see Chan standing there holding the basket of food with a giant smile on his face.
"What do you want?" You asked plainly as you stared behind him, hoping your pizza would arrive so you could take it and shut the door.
"To tell you how sorry I am," You scoffed rolling your eyes at him,
"You know exactly how insecure about that I am and you still-" You began sobbing as you thought back on what he said, all he did was wrap his arms around you tightly. Pulling you into a hug, his hugs were the answers to all of your problems, no matter what you were going through as long as he hugged you everything else seemed to be insignificant to you.
"You know how insecure I am about that," You managed to say through sniffles as he kissed the top of your head, rubbing your lower back as he repeated how sorry he was to you.
"Things with work have been stressful...I just- You weren't listening and I needed you out of there." He knew it was never going to make up for what he had unintentionally said to you but he was going, to be honest with you from the start and tell you what happened.
"I'll make it up to you if you let me." He whispered as he continued to hold you in his arms, kissing your cheeks as you nodded.
"Start by paying for my pizza," You sniffled, wiping your eyes when you saw the delivery man walking over in your direction,
"Anything for you," Chan whispered, handing you the basket so he could get out the cash.
MINHO: Insecurity: Not having Friends (One of my many insecurities lol)
As soon as Minho heard your voice from the hall he rolled his head against the floor of the dance studio,
"I thought it was just us today," Hyunjin said to Minho, confused as to why you were in the building when it was supposed to be a private practice between him and the boys this afternoon.
"It is," Minho grumbled as he glanced over at the glass panel on the door, you were stood talking with Nayeon so he wrecked his brain at some kind of excuse to get you to leave without being so mean about it. The boys were all stressed out, Kingdom was getting harder with every week so they were having to step up their game, every second of practice alone was important to them. With you there, they weren't able to get anything done.
"Hey Babe, guys! I got you all some lunch and I figured we could hang out this afternoon?" You glanced over all of their faces and the boys turned to look at Minho for help, none of them wanted to be the ones to send you home but it needed to be done. It was probably best it came from your boyfriend rather than the boys who were just friends of yours,
"Don't you have plans with any of your friends?" Seungmin tried to come across as friendly, hoping you would somehow get the hint that they wanted you to leave but Minho laughed loudly at the comment.
"Y/n doesn't have friends, that's why they're always clinging onto us," The room seemed to fall into silence, all that could be heard was the air-conditioner and your rapid breathing as Minho used your number one insecurity against you in front of everybody knowing full well that it hurt you more than anything else he could have said to you.
"Y/n!" Minho yelled out as you backed out of the room without another word to him, the other boys looking shocked at him as he called you to come back to him.
"Give them some space...Y/n will just want some time to cool off," Chan said as he placed his hand on Minho's arm wanting him to calm down before he spoke to you but Minho couldn't concentrate on anything else but the look on your face as he said that to you.
(X)
Minho stared at you from across your apartment as you waited for him to say something, he'd let himself in with his key but you weren't speaking. He'd been sitting on the sofa for an hour without either of you talking, he was just as stubborn as you were about things but he knew he was in the wrong this time.
"Why did you say it?" That was all you wanted to know, why he'd felt the need to use one of the biggest things you were insecure about in front of everyone, laughing about it as if it was something funny when it wasn't.
"I just- I need you out of there, I've been stressed and I know that will never be a suitable excuse but I was." You rolled your eyes at him, sitting down on the opposite sofa to him as you listened to what he was saying,
"You could have told me, I would have left...I know how much stress you're all under for Kingdom," You whispered as you looked down at your hands, wondering if he really found it funny that you didn't have many of your own friends, you were new to Korea it wasn't as if you weren't trying.
"What I said was out of order, nothing I can do or say will make up for it but I'm hoping you'll let me try...I never meant it, you know that." You knew deep down he hadn't meant it but you didn't want to forgive him so easily and seem so weak,
"Fine but...I want to be alone tonight, I just want some space." You whispered as you glanced up at him, he nodded and walked over to you giving you a kiss on your forehead.
"Call me when you're ready to speak, I'm sorry." He whispered before you kissed him again, letting him go out of the door.
CHANGBIN: Insecurity: School/College work
it out on one When Changbin walked into the dorms that night and heard you laughing loudly with the guys he frowned, you were supposed to be at home studying for your exams that were coming up not here with his friends.
"Y/n? I thought you had an exam tomorrow." He said plainly as he walked into the room, you stopped laughing as you glanced over at him and nodded your head.
"I do, I was just coming over for a break and I ran into Jisung," You looked over at Jisung who was still red in the face from laughing, Changbin grew with jealously as he watched the two of you giggling while trying not to laugh.
"This is why you keep failing the exams," He mumbled not thinking you could hear him as he walked into the kitchen but you heard him and your face fell,
"What?" Your voice cracked as you waited for him to repeat what he had just said to you, nothing but the sound of the tap dripping could be heard.
"Nothing." He grumbled, Jisung attempted to slowly leave the room without being noticed but you took his wrist in your hand,
"What did he say Jisung?" Changbin stared at the younger member with a look that said he would kill him if he said anything.
"I wasn't listening," It was clearly a lie but you let him go before grabbing your stuff,
"That's great, you know. You confide in your boyfriend that one of your insecurities is that you failed an exam and he uses it against you," You said snarkily as you began heading towards the door of the dorms, wanting nothing more than to go home and be left alone but Changbin followed you out.
"I didn't mean it, I was just-"
"You were just what?! Stressed? So, what? You thought. 'I know let me just take it out on my partner, who's already having a rough enough time without their boyfriend being rude about it'" You yelled before leaving the dorms, making sure to slam the door so he knew you didn't want him to follow you back home.
(X)
A week had passed since your little yelling match with Changbin, he'd been doing everything he could to say sorry, sending flowers, chocolates and teddies to your apartment to try and make up for everything he had done. Then there were the calls, voicemails and texts telling you how sorry he was for what he had said to you, that he hadn't meant it. You finally gave up on ignoring him when you realised you were both just stressed and it didn't mean you had to take it out on one another.
"I'm sorry," You said in unison as you opened the door to your apartment to see him standing there with a bunch of flowers in his hands,
"No, I'm sorry." You said in unison again before laughing with one another, Changbin put the flowers down on your kitchen side before bringing you into a hug and kissing the top of your head.
"I promise that it won't happen again, I've been stressed at work and that's one of the worst excuses in the world but I'm really sorry-" He was cut off when you kissed him softly, telling him that it was fine, you'd been stressed out as well and you shouldn't have ignored him for as long as you had done.
"How did your exam go?" He whispered as he pulled you into a tight hug,
"I passed." You laughed softly, kissing his chest as he told you his plans for congratulating you.
HYUNJIN: Insecurity: Not Being Good enough for him
You ran your hands down the outfit you were wearing for the award show the boys had invited you to go along with them to and you sighed, you looked great but you thought back on what everyone else was going to be wearing. All of those people around Hyunjin who were going to gain his attention within seconds,
"You ready to go? Whoa," He whispered as he walked into your shared room to find you in the most stunning outfit he'd ever seen you in, he walked over and kissed you softly.
"Looking good babe," He complimented but your heart dropped, "good" wasn't what you wanted, you wanted to look great. So great that he wouldn't be able to take his eyes off you all night,
"I need to change, it's not right." You mumbled, heading into the wardrobe to try and find something that would meet your standards that you had set in your head.
"You don't have to, you look good." You ignored him as you pulled out different options up to your body trying to find the best one,
"I don't want to look good, I want to look great." You whispered not thinking he could hear you but he watched you from the door shaking his head,
"You always look great, it doesn't matter what you wear," You looked over at him and shook your head this time,
"But they're going to be people, that will look better...You will look at them and want to be with them instead." He rolled his eyes at you, leaving the wardrobe to go and wait for you outside not wanting to listen to this over and over again.
"You always think that I'm going to leave you for someone else, why? You're all I want." He was getting tired of telling you this and you never believe him, it was like a broken record.
"Maybe I should spend my time looking for someone who would be good for me, someone who wouldn't spend so much time getting ready," He snapped not meaning it, he was stressed from work and the award show but you came out of the wardrobe in sweats.
"What are you doing?"
"Well, I'm not going. Spend the night finding someone that can be good enough for you," You remarked before looking yourself in the en-suite, ignoring him as he banged on the door for you to come out.
(X)
Hyunjin walked into the room later that night to find you curled up in bed with his shirt on, he crawled in behind you and kissed your shoulder softly.
"You know I didn't mean it right, you're perfect for me...Sometimes you're too good for me." He whispered as you pretended to be asleep,
"I know you're not asleep because you're not doing that little snorting thing you do when you're sleeping," You began making the snorting noise as he laughed softly, kissing your cheeks and turning you around to face him,
"There is no one in the world I want, I only want you for the rest of my life," He admitted as he kissed your lips over and over again, telling you he was going to remind you every day how good you were until you began to believe and listen to him.
JISUNG: Insecurity: Don’t earn as much as him
It was no secret that you didn't earn as much as your boyfriend Jisung did but that was because he was famous and you just happened to serve in a restaurant and work in a bookstore in the week.
"We're all going to split the bill," Jisung announced as he looked at the waiter who had asked had you and the boys wanted to pay for your meal that night, you looked at the receipt nervously thinking about how you were going to pay for it. 53000 won wasn't exactly the cheapest meal in the world, you figured you would all pay for the food you had ordered for yourselves which was why you'd gone for the cheapest items on the menu.
"Well, Changbin is the birthday boy, we shouldn't make him pay. Let's split between the eight of us," Felix said as he bought out his wallet, you began to grow with anxiety as you realised you weren't going to have enough to cover it.
"Here, mine and Y/n's half," You stared at the wad of cash that he placed down and then up at him as he smiled at you, kissing your lips.
"I got you, baby, I know you don't have a lot so I figured this was my treat." Your mouth fell open as he said that in front of everyone and the boys awkwardly looked away from you, doing anything they could to not pay attention to you.
"I can pay for my own meals," You whispered not wanting to make a scene in such a fancy place but Jisung didn't see a problem with him putting money down for the two of you.
"I know you don't earn as much as me, it's no big deal it's just money." A hiss sounded from Changbin as he realised Jisung was saying the wrong thing right now so all you did was get up,
"Well, this person who doesn't earn as much as you is leaving to catch a cab. Don't worry Jisung, I can afford it." You snapped, moving out of the restaurant leaving Jisung shocked as he watched after you, not seeing the problem in him offering to pay for your food.
"Dude...Bringing up that they earn less than you? Harsh," Changbin whispered as he patted Jisung on the back before getting up to leave.
(X)
Watching him from across the room you waited for Jisung to say something, he'd come to your apartment begging you to let him inside so you did.
"What is it? Come to mock me some more for my jobs?" He sighed as he stepped closer to you, only for you to back up against the wall not wanting him to touch you right now.
"You know I never meant it like that, I just...I thought I was doing a good thing." You shook your head as you rubbed your arms,
"Doing a good thing would be if you didn't announce to everyone on our table that I make less than you," You mumbled as you thought back on the boys all staring at you, it felt as if you'd shrunk in size with the way they all stared at you.
"Babe please, I didn't mean to I thought I was doing a nice thing." You shook your head rubbing your temples as the headache you'd gotten increased,
"Whatever Jisung, just...lock the door on your way out," You turned away from him only for him to take you by the hand and pull you close.
"You know I would never do something that spiteful to you on purpose, I was stressed, it slipped out, I didn't mean to use it against you." You could tell by the look in his eyes how sorry he was and the thought of curling up beside him to fall asleep was too good to resist right now so you gently kissed his lips.
"Next time we eat, I'm paying." You mumbled, dragging him into the bedroom to get some well-earnt sleep.
FELIX: Insecurity: Emotionless/Cold hearted
According to everyone around you, you were that cold and heartless person that everyone tended to steer away from which was why it was so hard for you to believe someone like Felix, who was the living embodiment of sunshine, would want to date someone like you.
"All I'm saying is, you could have been a little bit nicer." He mumbled as you stood in the dorms, Jisung had been crying about a fight he'd had with Chan earlier that day and you told him to grow up about it.
"All I said was that he needed to grow up," You were confused as to why he was so angry over something so small, Jisung hadn't seemed that upset over it and it was him you were talking to.
"You're so fucking emotionless! He was crying Y/n and you told him to grow up!" You felt your body slump as the words left his mouth, you could take that from everyone around you but not him, not Felix. Felix was the one that made all of your insecurities melt away, the one you felt happy with but now he'd just thrown that back in your face and it looked as though he hadn't even noticed.
"How do you do it? How do you get away with being so cold to everyone around you, he was clearly hurt and needed our help and you fucking made it worse." You looked over at the dorm bathrooms wondering if you could make a run for it while he was ranting with his back to you so you did. Shutting the door as you slid down it, crying into your knees as you remembered the way Felix looked at you as if you were a monster. It wasn't that you were emotionless or cold to everyone, there were just some feelings you didn't understand.
"Y/n! I'm sorry!" He banged on the door as soon as he realised where you were, trying to get you to come out as he heard you sniffling from the other side of it.
"Please, I didn't mean any of it Y/n, you know that." You continued to cry into your knees, wanting nothing more than for him to leave and go into his room so you could sneak out and go home but he sat there on the other side of the door and waited.
(X)
You finally emerged an hour later when Chan knocked on the door telling you he needed to use the bathroom, Felix was waiting for you with open arms but you attempted to move away from him, failing as he hugged you from behind.
"I'm sorry, I was just stressed and overwhelmed with work, I shouldn't have taken it out on you," He whispered as he kissed your shoulder, watching you as you kept your eyes forward on Jisung who was talking to Chan about that day.
"You were right though, he did need to grow up...I shouldn't have said what I said to you and I am really sorry Y/n." You knew that no matter what Felix was going to keep saying sorry until you forgave him,
"You're right there, I am-" He kissed your lips softly before you could tell him you agreed with yourself being emotionless,
"I don't want to hear that, it's not true...Remember when I broke my ankle and you were there taking care of me," You nodded and he continued to list off everything you had done for him, the boys and all of your friends when they were sick or injured.
"I don't want to hear that again," He kissed your nose and you nodded before kissing him softly to stop him from saying sorry again.
SEUNGMIN: Insecurity: Not successful like other people your age
Your eyes glanced over the wedding invitation sitting on your coffee table, yet another one of your friends were getting married and you were happy for them. You would always be happy for someone who was doing well in their life but everyone you knew seemed to be getting married, having babies, getting their dream carers all the while you seemed to be stuck in the same place moving nowhere in your life.
"Why the long face?" Seungmin asked as he brought over your plate of food, the two of you were having your date night at your place tonight since the boys were all at the dorms and you wanted some alone time together.
"Nothing, I'm just wondering what to get my friend for her wedding," You said as you nodded over at the invitation, Seungmin nodded along with you and without thinking about it first,
"Doesn't it make you feel bad that they're all so successful and you're just still in your small apartment," He didn't mean for it to come out the way it did, he'd been so stressed all week over something he needed to ask you that it came out a little too harsh. You dropped the fork onto your plate as you looked at him, wondering if he was joking or if he was serious but he looked at you confused.
"What?"
"Well, I mean, they're all married, starting families, having these large homes and you're still in this crummy apartment." You couldn't believe the words that were coming out of his mouth, especially from Seungmin of all people, your boyfriend. The person that was supposed to be supportive and loving to you no matter what, it felt as though he was turning your back on you.
"Crummy?" Your voice broke as he continued to eat, watching the TV as though he didn't notice what he had said was hurting you so badly, you got up without another word, placed your plate down and rushed to the bathroom.
(X)
When you didn't come out after an hour Seungmin was beginning to worry, he knocked on the door when he heard sniffling coming from inside.
"Babe? Everything okay?" You wiped your eyes as you hummed in response, reaching to the toilet to flush it before lying to him, claiming you were sick and he needed to go before he caught it.
"You were fine earlier," He mumbled confused as to where this sudden sickness had come from, he opened the door to find you leaning against the bathtub wiping your eyes.
"Babe! What's wrong?" You scoffed at him, moving away as he tried to reach out and comfort you,
"What's wrong?! Me and my crummy apartment!" You yelled as you moved away from him and went into the living room,
"Baby, I didn't-"
"Didn't mean it? Because clearly, you did! Do you find it funny?" He reached out for you but you stepped away once again not wanting him to be near you right now,
"Let's just laugh at Y/n and the fact that they still live in a 'crummy' apartment, not married, not having kids and alone!" He realized as soon as you began crying again that his words had hurt you unintentionally, he hadn't meant it the way they'd come out.
"I didn't mean it like that, I've been stressed this week trying to-"
"So you took it out on me? When have we ever done that?" He shook his head, finally gabbing your hands as he made you look up at him,
"I've been stressing myself out trying to ask you to move in with me, I-I found a house we could live in and I- I didn't know how to ask you and I thought that dropping hints would be a good way." You stared at him with your brows pressed together,
"You thought telling me my apartment was crummy...was a hint?" He laughed awkwardly as he realised how stupid it seemed but you started laughing softly along with him somehow seeing the funny side of it as you shook your head.
"Kim Seungmin, you are the most strangest, perfect boyfriend in the world." You whispered kissing him softly,
"Yes, I'll move in with you."
JEONGIN: Insecurity: Worried He doesn’t Love you
"You were flirting with her," You scoffed as you stood in one of the empty conference rooms that were in the JYP building, Jeongin rubbed the bridge of his nose in frustration listening to what you were claiming he was doing.
"I was talking to her, she's like a younger sister to me." He explained you'd walked into the building to find him standing extremely close to Lia from itzy and it sent jealousy running through your veins. It wasn't as if you didn't trust Jeongin, you just found it incredibly difficult to see him with someone like Lia and not be attracted to her,
"You're just always too jealous to see what's in front of you! Why would I flirt with her when I'm with you?" You stared at him as he called you jealous, you looked down at your hands and not knowing what to say to him.
"You're always so worried that I don't love you! Do you know how tiring it is to have to remind you all the time?" You felt a pang in your heart as he yelled at you, people turning to look through the glass door as they heard the youngest member yelling.
"Well if it's so tiring why do you keep doing it?!" You yelled back only for him to shake his head and shrug his shoulders,
"I don't know," Your heart, felt as though it had fallen onto the floor and crashed into a million tiny pieces right in front of him and it was as though he didn't care to notice.
"You don't know? So...Why don't we just break up?" Your voice was quieter, hoping he would realise you were upset about this and that he would tell you he didn't mean it but he nodded his head,
"Fine." Your breath caught in your throat as he stormed out of the room leaving you alone to try and gather up everything that had just happened in the room while he seemed to go off as though nothing had happened.
(X)
When Jeongin walked into the dorms later that night the last thing he expected to find was you packing everything up into a bag with tears gushing down your cheeks.
"Sorry, I thought I would be done before you got back," You sniffled, wiping your eyes and side-stepping out of the room telling him you would come back for the rest of your stuff when he wasn't at home.
"What are you talking about? Why are you taking your stuff?" You ignored him as you struggled to take the key to the dorms off your keys, dropping them all onto the floor and crying as you saw him bending down for them.
"We broke up. Remember? You didn't want the hassle of telling me you loved me so we broke up," You couldn't bring yourself to look at him but he tilted your head up to look at him and shook his head,
"I was just mad, I didn't mean it Y/n...I would never break up with you over that, I've just been stressed and then the whole jealousy thing came out and I just...I'm really sorry," He whispered leaning forward to kiss your lips softly, repeating over and over how much he loved you in every way possible, kissing you all over your face as he pulled you back into his dorm room so you could unpack your bag.

"Why are you ignoring Carol?" Wanda asked with a frown as you sped out of the school car park a little too hastily. She narrowed her eyes at you, ready to read into every expression that flickered across your face.
"I'm not ignoring her, I'm avoiding her. It's different." You insisted as you kept your eyes on the road in front of you, determined to leave the school grounds before a certain blonde left the building and got into her own car.
"It's exactly the same thing just in a different font." Wanda stated as she continued to watch you.
"It's not. And anyway, I'm not obligated to talk to her." You said quieter, not finding enough confidence in your words. Of course you weren't obligated to talk to Carol, but you missed it - more than you would admit to yourself.
"I know, I thought you liked her though. You said your date went well with her but since then you run out of every room she enters."
"It wasn't really a date." You muttered as took a left and eyed your mirror.
"Y/n." Wanda laughed. "I think I know a date when it's described to me."
"But it's Carol, Wanda. Carol doesn't do dates." You insisted as you tried your hardest to avoid your friend's gaze again. You didn't want her to see the pain in your eyes.
"She did with you."
"She went down on me-"
"Yes, I remember that catch up conversation." Wanda chuckled and you threw an empty sweet packet you had left in the car at her.
"And I'm not complaining about that. It's just... you know I'm not one to judge people by rumors, but Carol seems like a pretty strict 'hookups only' type of gal. Every time me and Carol are alone together we end up fucking and again, I'm not complaining about that, but it's enough to tell me she doesn't want anything more from me. Not even fuck buddies, because she doesn't commit to girls." You breathed out deeply as you parked up outside yours and Wanda's favourite coffee shop, suddenly not able to tell if you weren't in the mood for your hot chocolate or in desperate need of one.
"I think there might be a little more to it than that." Wanda said after a moment. She knew where you were coming from but she also couldn't deny the fidgety nature and anxious look in the blonde's eyes a few days prior.
"She called it a date last time you were together, she hasn't done that before. She was worried when you were sick and she's only ever worried when her teammates are sick."
"She wasn't worried." You rolled your eyes lightly and managed a small smile at Wanda.
"Oh she definitely was."
You groaned when you heard your phone vibrate on your bedside table. You rolled over begrudgingly, only bothering to check it because you knew it was lunch break at school and it might have been Wanda sending you the class notes you had asked for.
Unknown number: when I saw you weren't in class I assumed you were dead
You frowned as you took a double take of the message and the number you didn't recognize. The fuck? You decided to respond anyway, if they were in your class and texted you maybe they would send you their notes too.
You: sorry, who is this??
Unknown number: your favourite jock ;)
They replied, pretty much instantly. You put two and two together, but really the smirking face would have been enough.
You: Carol? How did you get this number??
You rubbed your eyes and pulled you sick bowl closer to you, frowning at the discomfort you felt.
Unknown number: so I am your favourite jock?? Good to know
You rolled your eyes and groaned more, knowing Carol wouldn't be forgetting that in a hurry. You didn't respond to that, instead shutting off your phone in hopes of getting more sleep but a minute later another text came through. You knew it would be Carol, but you still reached over to check it.
Unknown number: and Wanda gave it to me
"Dammit, Wanda." You grumbled, going to write her an angry message but Carol had something else to say.
Unknown number: I asked very nicely
You fought off a smile weakly and decided to change her contact, telling yourself it might be useful to keep it.
Jackass: You home alone?
She didn't seem to want to stop talking. Although you couldn't deny that it made you smile more when you wondered if she meant was anyone there to look after you.
You: I am, parents have to work
Jackass: want me to come over and make you feel better? ;)
Suddenly you didn't feel like talking to Carol anymore. You were sick and feeling crappy and all Carol wanted to do was fuck, she was hardly subtle about it either. If you hadn't already been thinking long and hard about what the jock could possible think of you, that would have been the moment you started to ponder it.
With your mood somehow lowered even more, you turned your phone off to go back to sleep, accidentally swiping the notification that read Jackass: * :)
"I still can't believe you gave her my number." You grumbled as you swirled the chocolaty drink in front of you.
"She did ask very nicely." Wanda grinned.
"Enough about her." You said, leaning forward on your elbows to grin back at your friend. "How's your girlfriend?"
*
You were on your phone when you saw a donut being pushed across the table towards you out of the corner of your eye. It was your favourite type that also happened to be the one the cafeteria rarely sold, so when it landed in front of you you looked up with a smile, expecting to see Wanda smiling knowingly back at you.
Carol grinned as she pulled out the chair opposite you and sat herself down. Your eyes flickered over to Wanda who was trying to hide her smile and look away.
"It's for you." Carol said after a second.
"What do I have to do for it?" You asked, only half joking as you eyed the treat suspiciously.
"Come on another date with me." She winked. You leaned back and looked away from Carol and the donut, displeased but not surprised. "Nothing." Carol said quickly. "You don't have to do anything, I just know that one's your favourite." The blonde said. You had never told her that. You eyed Wanda again who quickly looked away like she hadn't been watching the interaction and leaned into Natasha.
"Thank you, Danvers." You said quietly, moving the napkin that the donut was on closer to you.
"I thought we were passed that." Carol chuckled, you wanted to smile at the sound. Carol leaned down to grab something out of her rucksack as you started on the donut, not entirely sure if you should try make conversation or just run away.
"I took notes yesterday, while you were gone." The jock said as she put her notebook on the table and flicked through her badly organised pages to find the one she was looking for. You raised your eyebrows slightly in response.
You had never once seen Carol take actual notes in class, but when she spun the book around to face you you were even more surprised to see the detailed notes she had been taking, even with a couple of small diagrams at the bottom she had probably copied from the board.
"Are they okay? Wilson's pretty good at this shit I'm sure I could get him to-"
"They're great!" You interrupted. "They're...fuck, I'm sorry but since when did you take notes?" You didn't want to seem rude but it felt like you were witnessing a never before seen event or the discovery of a new species.
"Just figured you would want them." Carol shrugged and took a sandwich out her bag.
"Yeah I... thank you." You muttered and smiled when you saw a small doodle of a star. "Can I?" You asked as you motioned to your phone's camera. Carol nodded with a smile and watched as you took photos of her notes.
Wanda coughed from across the table and you shot daggers at her, knowing what she so desperately wanted to say. She hasn't done that for anyone else.
*
"It was sweet of her though." Wanda pointed out as her eyes stayed fixed on Natasha's form.
"It was, but you've gotten me donuts before and you don't want to date me." You said as you tried to stop your eyes trailing to Carol again as they seemed to keep doing.
"Well if Natasha wasn't here..." Wanda teased with a smile. You rolled your eyes at your friend and chuckled.
"Are Carol's abs as hard as they look?" Wanda asked randomly. You couldn't help but look up at the blonde at the mention of her name and perhaps one of your favourite things about her.
It was a hot day and her team was training hard on the field, so most of the athletes had their shirts off. Carol's abs were on full display and given the amount of core stretches she had been doing they were as prominent as ever.
"They are." You muttered, remembering the first time you ran your hands across her chest.
You heard giggling in the row behind you and turned around to see a group of girls also watching Carol and her team train. It was obvious their gazes fell on the same area yours had and suddenly you remembered the long list of names that Carol used to show off proudly.
The girl's whispers became louder as did the giggling and without realizing what you were doing you found yourself comparing you to them. They were popular, effortlessly beautiful and probably had much more experience than you ever had. You couldn't compete with that. Especially when you didn't even know why Carol wanted you. You rested your head on your knees and tried to zone out the world around you as your insecurities ate at you more.
"Come on." Wanda nudged you gently as she stood up from the bleachers. You grabbed your bag and followed after her, noticing that practice was apparently over.
Natasha was standing at the bottom of the bleachers and pulled Wanda into a tight hug. You smiled at the motion, wishing you had what they did.
"Hey." Carol said to you, her eyes shining lightly in the sun.
"Hey yourself." You nodded as you began to walk behind Wanda and Nat. Carol fell into place beside you and made you think about the height difference between you. You were convinced she could give the best piggy back rides.
"You make it look easy." You blurted out. Carol arched a perfect brow at you as she pulled her shirt over her head. "Sport." You generalized, waving your hands.
"Y/n is allergic to sport." Wanda called back.
"Is that right?" Carol smirked as she looked at you.
"It is not, it's just not my thing." You defended.
"Then what is your thing?" Carol asked curiously.
"Wouldn't you like to know." You replied as you searched your brain, not really knowing if you had a thing. Nothing serious at least.
"I would." Carol fired back.
"That's too bad." The jock smiled and decided not to push.
"I'm sure there's a sport you can do." Carol pondered.
"If there is if it could be added to the curriculum that would be really helpful." You sighed.
"Y/n L/n, are you failing a class?" Carol gasped dramatically. You groaned when Wanda laughed, confirming the blonde's assumption.
"Could be worse, I fail loads of classes and everything seems to work out okay." Carol said calmly, seemingly completely unfazed.
You reached the car park and slowed down when you saw Natasha follow Wanda to her car. Wanda was your lift to school and therefore your ride home too. You had stayed behind to study in the library and joined your friend on the bleachers when it shut to see the last of the teams training, not thinking about the fact Wanda was staying behind so she could hang out with Natasha after.
"I can give you a ride home." Carol offered as she threw her car keys up in the air and caught them easily. You pondered that for a second, you really didn't want to be a third wheel to your friend, even if it was a short drive home.
"Yeah, thanks, Danvers." Wanda gave you a knowing smile as she waved goodbye and practically ran to her car with Natasha.Yeah, definitely the best call to leave them alone.
You got into Carol's car and tried to ignore all the memories you had of being in the backseat, instead resting your arm against the window to try and keep your focus on that. Carol didn't say much as you drove which surprised you. She seemed deep in thought about something and you couldn't help but wonder what.
"You want to come to mine?" She said suddenly. You froze in your seat before answering.
"Just my place will do. For me only! I mean I... I have homework." You rambled and felt your whole face heat up. You wondered if being in a car with Wanda and Natasha jumping each other could possibly be more uncomfortable than being sat with Carol and trying to decline her advances.
"I could help." She offered, seemingly genuinely.
"I can handle it." You forced a laugh. Carol nodded and didn't say anything else until she pulled up to your house.
"Thanks again, Danvers." You smiled at the blonde as you hauled you bag up and opened the door.
"I'm always happy to help you out, y/n." Carol smiled back your way genuinely and your stomach did a little flip.
*
You hummed to yourself quietly as you made your way through the school corridors and opened the double doors to the library. You smiled to the librarian as always and got a limited response but your smile faltered when you saw your usual table was taken... by Carol.
She was in her training attire and scrolling mindlessly through her phone until she glanced up and saw you. "Hey." She smiled.
"Are you lost?" You asked as you walked towards her slowly.
"No and go get changed." Was all she said as she pushed a bag of school gym clothes towards you.
"And why would I do that?" You sighed as you peered into the bag.
"Y/n," Carol started as she tilted her chair back and rested her hands behind her head with her feet on the table, her usual confident smile playing on her lips. "Does it or does it not absolutely kill you that you're failing a class?" You paused before flicking yours eyes up to her. Yes, it absolutely did.
"And am I or am I not the best athlete in the school?" Also hard to argue with. You shifted on your feet.
"Come on, y/n. I promise I'll help you at least pass the class." Carol said with certainty. You chewed your gum as you thought about it.
"What do you get out of it?" You asked as you narrowed your eyes at the blonde.
"I can go to sleep at night knowing I've helped an underling." She grinned. You rolled your eyes but couldn't help but smile at her, Carol continued to smile back at you.
"That A* you got us on that project made me pass the class." Carol shrugged.
"Alright, Danvers." You nodded and picked up the bag. "But no funny business."
"Great!" She exclaimed and took her feet off the table to stand up.
"I'll see you in the main hall in 10."
*
Barely ten minutes into Carol's 'warm ups' you were already out of breath and in need of a break. You glared at her every time she barked orders at you with a grin, clearly enjoying bossing you around.
"Catch!" Carol exclaimed as she hauled a basketball at you. You ducked out the way and watched it fly past your head.
"You trying to kill me?!" Carol was bent over laughing at your exasperation and inability to catch a simple ball.
"Shut the fuck up, Danvers." You huffed but managed to hit the second ball that came your way.
"You really are allergic to sports huh?" She teased as you scowled at her. "Okay, let's start with the basics."
Surprisingly, from that point onward Carol wasn't that bad. She gave you a lot of pointers that honestly proved helpful because you slowly started to improve. Granted, you were still bad, but you were better.
"Arms like this." She instructed and watched as you mimicked her shooting position. "Elbows a little higher." You did as she said but she smiled at the attempt and stepped behind you. You froze up a little when she put her hands over yours and lifted them up too to a position that felt more natural.
"You got it." She assured, speaking right next to your ear so you could feel her breath against your skin. Then she withdrew her soft hands from yours and backed away. You missed the contact immediately.
"Now shoot." She instructed. You missed.
*
Carol trained you after school pretty much every day after that. Your limbs always ached after those sessions, so much so you were tempted to cave and take Carol up on her offer of a back rub.
You found that some sports were actually kind of fun to play with Carol, whether it was the absence of the pressure you got in a full class of teenagers or just because you enjoyed the blonde's company, it wasn't all that bad.
You still couldn't find a sport you were good at, but you didn't really care. You wondered what would happen when you did. Would Carol coach you at it for a bit then abandon your sessions? They couldn't keep going forever. The pang you got in your chest was the reason you had been ignoring Carol weeks prior, you didn't want to feel that for her. You just couldn't help it.
"Did my heart love till now? forswear it, sight! For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night." You recalled as Valkyrie wrote it down.
"I knew it was something like that." She waved off.
"Yeah you were really close with..." You glanced at her notes. "She gives me a boner." You laughed and put your face in your hand.
"That's the modern day translation!" Valkyrie exclaimed defensively.
"Please don't put that in your exam." You sighed as you flicked through your copy of Romeo and Juliet to find the next act.
"One sec." Valkyrie said as she looked down at her phone that was vibrating on the desk with a caller ID that you couldn't read.
"Hey, Captain." Valkyrie answered. You looked her way and back at your book quickly. There was more than one Captain in the school.
"I'm in the library studying." She continued and paused for the other voice to speak. "It's not that bad, a pretty girl's teaching me Romeo and Juliet." Valkyrie winked at you and you smiled weakly back, suddenly feeling uncomfortable. Fucking jocks and their shameless flirtation.
"Yeah I'll be done soon, see you then." She said and hung up the phone before turning back to you.
"Are there any quotes about boners?" The minutes after that went by painstakingly slowly. It was only a one off tutoring session that you would get an extra credit for, but you could think of a million things you would rather be doing with your lunch break.
Valkyrie nodded past you at someone at the library entrance. You turned around out of instinct and saw Carol strolling towards your table, eyes focused on you.
"Thanks for this." Valkyrie said as she packed away her things. "If I pass the exam I'm gonna have to find some way to make it up to you." She smirked as her eyes trailed over your legs.
You glanced at Carol who looked far from pleased at Valkyrie's comment and couldn't help but smile because that is exactly what she sounded like to you sometimes.
"That's okay." You muttered as you tried to avoid her gaze and put your books back in your bag.
"Alright, but I'm having a party this weekend. You should come."
"I'm not really a party person." You laughed awkwardly, wanting the encounter to be over.
"You don't have to spend long at the party itself." Valkyrie shrugged as she took a bold step towards you. "You could always stay in my room-"
"She said no." Carol cut in. Her eyes bore into Valkyrie's with a look that said the conversation was over. Her stance was firm and her jaw was tightly locked as she glared at her team mate. Valkyrie frowned and looked back at you as you fiddled with your bag zip and avoided her eye, silently thanking Carol even if she had been a tad aggressive.
"Right, sorry." Valkyrie muttered before making her way past you. Carol gave you a small smile before turning to leave with her team mate. You were sure Wanda would have something to say about that.
*
It was a few days until you saw Carol again. She had texted you to briefly say she had practice after school and you didn't see her at lunch breaks either. It annoyed you to admit you missed her company.
With every second you spent with the jock your crush on her grew. You knew that any longer and you may just end up head over heals for her which would only end in heart break for you. But every time you saw the wisp of blonde hair, shine of brown eyes with her confident smile or even just that god damn varsity jacket, you didn't care about how it could end.
It was a Thursday when she texted you during lunch to ask if you wanted to practice after school. You replied a little too eagerly with a yes and continued listening to Wanda rant about something dumb Pietro had done.
A few hours later you held a bat in your hands and prepared for Carol to throw the ball your way. She wasn't very talkative that day, a rarity for the blonde. You wanted to ask if something was up with her but the concentrated look on her face made you not want to disrupt her train of thought.
"I'm sorry." She said suddenly.
"That's alright." You sighed as you watched the ball roll across the field. That was a particularly fast throw.
"About snapping in the library." Carol corrected. "I didn't mean to make it awkward." She said as she scratched the back or her neck then stretched her arm to throw again.
"You didn't." You assured honestly. "I was already uncomfortable." You huffed as you missed another throw from Carol even after trying to apply all her tips.
"Val can be quite persistent." Carol said, still not showing her smile.
"Just like someone else I know." You shrugged. Carol faltered at the obvious call out.
"Lets switch." She said quietly and handed you her glove as she took the bat from you. She explained to you the basics of her own throwing techniques and had a few recommendations on what she thought might work best for you.
"If you ever told me no, I'd back off." Carol said as put the bat up. You were thrown off by the sudden shift in conversation.
"I know you would have." You hoped Carol noticed your use of past tense. You had already decided that sex with her again would be too dangerous for you. God only knows what you would end up blurting out. You cringed at the thought of confessing your love for Carol as she fucked you.
Your eyes shifted to the track team that were doing their laps around another part of the field. They made it look as easy as always.
"You got eyes for one of them, y/n?" Carol asked in a voice that seemed more curious than teasing.
"Not my type." You muttered as you threw the ball weakly again.
"What is your type?" Carol asked, unable to mask her curiosity that time.
"I don't know." You huffed. The blonde looked at you expectantly, clearly hoping for something more. "And what's your type, Danvers?" You asked, successfully shifting the conversation when you saw a glint in Carol's eyes. Her smile returned.
"Eh, about (your height), (your eye colour) eyes, terrible at sport but really cute so it's dorky." Carol shrugged. Damn, that could almost be me. You glanced up at the blonde to throw again and saw her smirking at you.
"Someone should warn her." You joked in a feeble attempt to hide your disappointment that we swelling in the pit of your stomach.
"I just did." Wait... Carol's smirk grew as she watched the realization spread across your face. You blushed deeply and tried to fight off a smile.
"I don't think baseball's working either." You muttered.
*
"You know it's strange, I always thought you were going to become a jock." Pietro said thoughtfully before taking a bite of his apple.
"First of all how dare you and secondly what the hell gave you that idea?" You exclaimed. Wanda was giggling besides you while Carol gave you a look of faux offence.
"That's the highest compliment!" She argued.
"I second that." Natasha nodded.
"Do you remember Wanda's 14th birthday party?" Pietro asked.
"It's a treasured memory." You grinned at Wanda. "I kicked your ass at bowling." You recalled proudly.
"You kicked everyone's ass at it. Bowling's a sport isn't it?" Apparently word had spread about Carol's private lessons. You and the blonde had spent weeks going back and forth between different sports. Overall, you were still pretty crap but you had been lifted to a passing grade in the class. You kept meaning to tell Carol that, but you didn't want the lessons to end. You concluded that as long as she didn't ask, you wouldn't tell.
"I'd say so." Wanda shrugged but Carol and Natasha clearly had different opinions.
"Fuck no!"
"Please do not align that with us!" They erupted. You and Wanda started to laugh at their outraged expression, never knowing something to piss a jock off more.
The sound of the bell overhead was followed by a few groans from those around the table as you all packed up and left the table. At least it was a Friday. You wandered across the field on your usual route of going round the main buildings to avoid the crowded corridors, lost in your thoughts until someone jogged up besides you.
"Bowling, huh?" She inquired as she slowed down to a walk.
"It's been years." You said offhandedly.
"You got plans tomorrow?"
"Nope."
"We should go bowling, if you want to. Obviously just as part of your lessons." Carol offered as she looked ahead.
"I thought you said it isn't a sport." You eyed the blonde suspiciously with a smile.
"It isn't, but this I have to see."
"Okay." You nodded without much thought. Bowling with the jock did sound fun.
"I'll pick you up at 2."
*
"These shoes are ridiculous." Carol grumbled.
"American football shoulder pads are ridiculous but you don't hear me calling that out." You fired back.
"Oh, so that was meant at someone else?"
"Sure." You shrugged as you smiled at Carol's brightly coloured shoes. You went onto your lane and gleamed at the nostalgic sound of pins being knocked over and the bright spot lights across the lanes.
Carol put your names into the scoreboard tablet as you ran your hands over the bowling balls and frowned slightly as you realized you still had to use one of the smaller ones.
"Experts first." Carol motioned to the beginning of the lane with a small smirk and you smiled back at her excitedly and grabbed a ball.
"Just remember it's been a while!" You called back to the eagerly watching blonde. She hummed back. You brought the ball up to your chest to have a feel of the weight and glared at the pins, there had to be something you could impress Carol with. With a deep breath, you swung your arm back and forward to let the ball go, center down the lane and colliding with the painted targets. All but one knocked over and you couldn't help but throw tour hands up in the air in triumph.
"That was pretty good!" You declared as you turned back to Carol happily. She beamed back at you, giving you a smile that made her eyes squint and look absolutely adorable.
You grabbed the second ball and rolled it smoothly across the polished floor, successfully hitting the last pin. Carol strolled up after you, her hands hovering over the range in front of her and landing on one for someone with a bigger hand. You scoffed quietly, not believing the jock could hold it but she picked it up with ease.
You stood, wide eyed, watched as she sauntered over to the lane and swung her arm. The ball veered off to the side and took down a couple of pins that Carol glared at.
"Unlucky is all." She grumbled as she went to get another ball. This time when she threw it it fell into the dip along the side, it was hard to hide your amusement.
"That's just bullshit." Carol grumbled.
"Do you want me to put the sides up for you, Danvers? Or maybe I could ask someone for that ramp." You teased. She flipped you off and went to sit on the small sofa and watched you carefully.
You knocked most of the pins over on your next few goes while Carol got very little. You tried to give her a few tips but apparently her ego was too big to accept them, which meant you were winning marginally.
You spun around to face the blonde after knocking the last of your pins over but she wasn't on her spot on the sofa. You were about to get your phone out to text her but you spotted her sauntering back towards your area with a bowl of nachos. Your mouth watered at the sight.
Carol gave a dramatic huff as she spotted the scoreboard and beckoned you over to the small table by the sofas. "We'll start a new round after these." She said as she put them on the table. "I didn't poison them." She quipped when you didn't move.
"Sometimes I think you'd do anything to win." You replied as you sat down opposite her and took one of the nachos. In all honesty you weren't expecting Carol to get the snack, never mind to want to share it.
Carol flexed her right hand absent mindedly as she glanced around at over areas of the alley. "Your hand hurting?" You asked as you took another nacho with a lot of cheese on it.
"A little." She shrugged and lifted it up to look at the back of her mind. Without thinking, you put your hand and pressed it gently flat against hers. Not only were her fingers longer than yours but her palm was bigger too, even her wrist was thicker. It was only when you caught Carol's eye that you went to bring your hand away but she laced her fingers through yours and put them down on the table.
"Sorry, I was just curious." You blushed even though it was clear Carol didn't mind.
"Okay." She chuckled as she continued on the nachos. You finished the rest of the snack in silence with your hands still together until you leaned back and glanced at the lane again.
"Ready to have your ass kicked again?" You quipped.
"Don't get cocky, kid." Carol mused as she rolled her eyes with a smile.
"Since when did you know Star Wars?" You asked in complete disbelief.
"I love Star Wars." Carol said casually. "And since always."
"I didn't take you for the type." You smiled as you tried to study the jock for any signs of a lie.
"That's just because you never asked." She shrugged and stood up, letting your hands slide apart. You missed the contact instantly but that didn't distract you enough from her words.
Of course you had never asked her something like that, Star Wars was the last thing you'd guess she would like. You knew there was always more to people than what they showered publicly, but Carol had always seemed like such an open book in every way. So hearing that she wasn't quite what you thought she was, even after the few months of knowing her better, simply made you impossibly more interested in the blonde. You stared at Carol in nothing short of awe, she was really something else.
"I've had enough of these shoes." She declared.
"You quitting on me Danvers?" You quipped but really your heart dropped at the thought she wanted to cut your outing short.
"I'm just thinking we could try our hand at a few other things, seeing as we're not doing sport anymore." She said as she nodded towards the arcade.
Your eyes lit up at all the games in the entrance as you found your competitiveness returning. You both returned your shoes and practically ran over to the arcade area with all its choices. You decided to head towards the air hockey first as you argued over whether or not it was a sport. Carol, of course, took the opposition.
Your reflexes weren't as good as hers but you liked to think you put up a good fight, even if you did curse under your breath every time the blonde scored. The screen above you both lit up to declare Carol's victory that she was very happy to celebrate, you watched as she danced around the table towards you in what could have been the dorkiest thing you had ever seen.
"You having fun there?" You laughed.
"So much fun." Carol grinned back and eyed her next target.
"Absolutely not!" You cried out when her eyes landed on the basketball. You took her by the hand and tried your best to ignore the electricity running up your arms at how perfectly her hand fit in yours and led her through the arcade. You came to a halt by a racing game and before you could even suggest the idea to Carol she was clambering into the seat and shoving the coins into the machine. You sat down next to her and did the same. You were both terrible. The controls were slightly broken and far too sensitive, making the cars on screen spin around when you tried to turn and never going straight.
"Piece of garbage!" Carol shouted at the screen as you passed the finish line by some miracle.
"Wanna go again?" You asked with a grin but the blonde was already jumping off the seat.
"Now this I have to win." Carol declared as she spotted the nearest shooting game. It was some kind of zombies in space crossover but you didn't much question that when you picked up the plastic gun.
"We work together on this, Danvers." You laughed.
"Count yourself lucky then." Carol said as she aimed her gun at the screen as the game started.
"The fact that you didn't know how it works doesn't make me all that confident in you." You pointed out as you started firing at the horde of zombies. You didn't see one that was charging at you from the left but Carol shot it down before it reached you.
"You're welcome." She smirked then shot some more on your right. "Come on, y/n I'm doing all the work here."
"Fuck yourself, Danvers." You fired back as you tried to reload your gun.
"Fuck me yourself you coward." She challenged. Your mouth went dry but you started to laugh. She didn't make the comment with her usual smirk and suggestive tone, instead it seemed like a genuine joke that you didn't get anxious about.
"That would be a first." You quipped with a smile. You managed to take the last few zombies.
"It really would be, I am a virgin after all." She said casually and you dropped your gun. "Oh shit, here we go!" Carol laughed as the zombie boss made its dramatic entrance.
"Wait what?" You stammered as you looked between Carol and the screen while trying to get a grip on the plastic gun.
"What? No one's ever fucked me. I fuck girls, they don't fuck me back." She shrugged simply and started rapid firing at the boss.
"Maybe you should stop being exclusive to pillow princesses." You joked in a feeble attempt to mask your surprise.
"Maybe, it's not just that." She started. It confused you that she could say something so out of character while keeping most of her attention on the screen. "I don't trust any of them. I don't know, it's just, when it comes down to it, I freak out." Carol tried to explain but seemed to struggle.
"Damn." She sighed when the screen presented 'Game Over' in an overtly bloody text. You wandered away from the booth as you thought about what Carol said. She had a content smile on her face as she looked around and you figured the conversation was over.
"I love these." You told the blonde when you came across a Wac A Mole machine. You put the coins in and lifted up the rubber mallet as you kept your eyes on the board. The first one sprung up in front of you and Carol announced its presence with a cry.
"Thank you, Danvers." You smiled after hitting the figure.
"There!" She pointed to the next one, and the next one until you shouldered her out the way, not expecting her to actual wander off. When the game was over you grinned in triumph and looked to Carol for her praise but she wasn't near by. With a frown, you ventured around the arcade and found the jock hunched over a claw machine.
"These things eat you money, you know?" You half joked but to your surprise Carol dropped a small teddy bear into the box.
"And how long did that take you?" You teased as she picked it up.
"Its for you." You ran your thumb over the left paw that had a heart over it and smiled back at the jock who kept surprising you.
"Thank you, Carol." She nodded and the pair of you started to walk out the arcade and main building. Much to your surprise it was starting to get dark and there were few cars in the car park. You guessed the place would be closing soon but you hadn't realized you had been there so long. Time always seemed to fly by with Carol.
"How long were we even..." You started to laugh lightly until you turned to Carol and realized how close together you were. Your breath hitched when your eyes locked with her own that seemed to be looking back at you with something you couldn't quite pinpoint.
"Can I kiss you?" You whispered gently. You licked your lips and nodded slowly.
Her other hand rested on your cheek as her thumb caressed the smooth skin slightly and finally closed the distance entirely.
You had kissed Carol before, but never like that. It was slow and longing and gentle and you reciprocated in an instant, matching the rhythm she set. You brought you hands up to Carol's neck and cherished the moment of feeling connected to her in the way you had been craving before you pulled apart.
"It's only our second date, Danvers." You couldn't help but quip, not knowing what to say in such an unfamiliar scenario.
"Well this second date has taken a lot of work to get." Carol pointed out and you laughed as you continued to hold her close.
"I was scared." You admitted.
"You don't have to be scared with me." Carol assured gently.
"You mean it? You really..."
"I really love you." She confirmed.
"That's lucky for me, because I love you too." You smiled and brought Carol in for another kiss that she happily encouraged.
"So... more dates?" Carol asked with a laugh, clearly not all that familiar with the procedure either. You would work it out quickly.
"Yeah Carol." You chuckled.
"That I still have to work hard for?" She half joked.
"Not if we're girlfriends." The blonde laughed more at that.
"I'm glad to hear I've upgraded from just your favourite jock.
"You're always going to be my favourite jock too." You assured and kissed Carol once more.
*
Carol kissed a path down your stomach and smiled against your skin as she felt you shiver. Even after weeks of dating you still weren't used to her kisses, especially not across your more sensitive areas of skin.
"I got you." She whispered as she hooked her fingers over your pajama bottoms and panties and pulled them down together, kissing the newly found skin. You shivered more as her breath ghosted over your clit making you whine and buck your hips up. Carol smiled at your reaction and leaned down not before whispering "God, you're beautiful.
She wrapped her full lips around your clit and reveled in the moan that spilled from your lips. Her tongue dipped between your folds and she moaned at the sweet taste that invaded her taste buds.
You wrapped your hands in Carol's long blonde hair to bring her closer but she pulled away with a smirk. Before you could whine in protest she pulled her own trousers down to reveal a strap you hadn't seen before. It was different in shape and colour but the most noticeable different was the absence of the harness. You moaned softly at the realization it was anchored inside her.
"I want to feel it with you." Carol said as she lowered herself back towards you and placed her hands either side of your head and kissed your neck.
"Are you sure?" You asked tentatively. It would be the first time Carol had been on the receiving end to such a level. The most you had done was go down on her a few times.
"Yes, I trust you. I love you." She grinned and lined the strap up with your entrance.
"I love you too." You had really started to enjoy saying that to her.
You moaned breathlessly as Carol inched the strap into you carefully and kissed along your jaw more. She moaned with you when she bottomed out and felt the strap dig deeper into her. Her hips twitched as she took a moment to gather her own composure and held your hands above your head, your fingers intertwined.
"I got you." You assured back to her as she started to pull out and push back in. Carol moaned loudly in response and held you closer to her as she started to build up a rhythm, your thigh slapping together.
You moaned in sync as the strap pleasured you both more and more. You wrapped your legs tightly around your girlfriend's waist to push the strap deeper inside you both.
You shuddered every time Carol's skin met yours. Carol started thrusting the toy faster and harder as she chased her own release.
"It's so good!" You cried out. You both struggled to form words, only managing breathless moans as the strap pressed firmly against your g-spots in sync.
"Me too, fuck, please Carol. Cum with me." You pleaded and gave a strangled moan. Carol shuddered and moaned louder than you had ever heard as she came undone at the same time as you.
"Y/n." Your girlfriend shuddered and started to grind her hips against yours as she rode out her high with you.
"It's okay, I got you." You said as you held onto Carol's bare back. You held her close to you as she breathed heavily against your neck, the irregular patterns starting to even out. She was still shaking so you planted soft kissed across the patches of her face that weren't hidden in your neck as you stroked her hair, a content smile on your lips.
She adjusted herself slightly and the pair of you moaned softly when she eased the toy out and put it on the floor. "I'll clean it later." She whispered, eyes closed, before you could say anything.
"Okay." You chuckled and brought her closer to you. You wrapped your arms around one another as your legs tangled together under the sheets.
Carol's soft breath caressed your skin as you stroked her hair out of her face and kissed her forehead. A faint smile played across her lips at the action, confirming that she was just as happy as you were.

COMPLETELY AGREE. I feel like this is a good place to say that the bullying that minors experience in schools IS in fact emotional and physical abuse, and can be VERY traumatic, coming from someone whose c-ptsd is most likely heavily rooted in the amount of bullying I went through when I was a child. “Difficult people are a fact of life, just think of when you have to deal with coworkers you don’t agree with”, “bullying is necessary to build up a thicker skin”, “you just need to be considerate of the fact that their home life might be rough/they’re probably just insecure”, and other horrendously victim-blaming statements are constantly used to shut down and invalidate LITERAL CHILDREN whenever they try to stick up for themselves and tell teachers, and it’s exacerbated by bullshit “zero tolerance policies” in schools. Human beings are social by nature, we NEED community and support from those around us, and constantly being excluded and alienated from your peers, harassed for things outside of your control, and often times physically attacked on a DAILY BASIS is in no way healthy for anyone, let alone for someone with a brain that’s still developing, and there are multiple studies proving this.
//TW for mentions of csam, stalking, physical abuse, sexual abuse (cocsa), sexual harassment, racism, ableism, and bullying ahead//
On a daily basis, my bullies stalked me, would purposefully try to trigger my very severe food allergies and intolerances, spread csam of me to others around the school (took photos of me while I was changing in the locker room, took photos up my skirt, and took photos of me through bathroom stalls), physically attacked me in groups (I was even STRANGLED once), would loudly make inappropriate comments about my body, groped me, tried pulling my clothes off in front of others, pulled weapons out on me, made very graphic threats against me and my family, would steal/destroy my personal belongings, spread around very awful rumors about me that alienated me from my friends, and bullied me for my ethnicity (I’m mixed) and for being neurodivergent (AuDHD).
I DARE YOU to look me in my eyes and tell me that all of this has helped me to develop a “thicker skin”. I dare you to tell me that all of this shit that I’ve experienced that, to this day, still makes me scared to go into public restrooms by myself, has given me debilitating social anxiety and an immense amount paranoia that, whenever I’m in public, I’m constantly being followed and/or filmed, and STILL gives me nightmares and flashbacks to what was done to me in those hallways and those locker rooms, was somehow beneficial to me and my growth as a person. Do you honestly think that constantly being paranoid of others’ intentions is a sign of healthy socialization?
If I told a manager that a “difficult coworker” had done any of the things to me listed above in a professional workplace setting, I guarantee that their ass would be fired immediately. (Not to mention the fact that there’s a HUGE difference between simply not clicking with someone and someone literally harassing you, so I never really understood why teachers would say this to me???) If I told friends and family that a romantic partner did any of these things to me, I would rightfully be encouraged to leave that person and go to the police. I most likely wouldn’t be told that it “would give me a thicker skin”, or that, “I should consider that their personal life is difficult”. These things are correctly considered forms of emotional and physical abuse in any other context, so why is this not the case when it’s happening to children???
More people really need to be aware of the fact that children are actual human beings with feelings and functioning brains— “sticks and stones” only goes so far. They are constantly internalizing the world around them. The justification of different forms of abuse towards children truly is disgusting. We NEED to listen to children better and we need to make a safer world for them, not tell them to “toughen up” whenever legitimate harm is being done to them.
i love (hate) when someone points out that child abuse, especially certain forms, are still normalised and overlooked by society as being necessary and harmless in the long term and beneficial despite numerous forms of empirical evidence suggesting otherwise says something like “uhm actually i got *abused in whatever way is mentioned* and i turned out fine”. people will literally say “yeah i have no actual definitive proof that the mistreatment i endured doesn’t impact my life today. and even if i did i’m still one person whose subjective opinion doesn’t negate decades of research with larger sample sizes. but you have to believe me. child abuse is fine actually. trust me”

Just Friends
SUMMARY: Sam asks the group who they think are the “hottest” members of the team. You don’t make the cute for Bucky’s top five.
Bucky x TALL!Reader
W/C: 5,800
WARNINGS: angst, swearing (like two f bombs), cannon level violence, Bucky being an idiot (it’s a warning), physical insecurities, fake science
A/N: I wrote this because the top 5 situation actually happened to me IRL and when you don’t make someone you like’s list, it sucks. Also, this is in no way meant as being against people who are smaller! I am just a tall/plus size woman and sometimes that really makes you feel like you’re unattractive to people because you don’t fit the gender norm. Let me know what you think! I’m pretty new at this so I’d appreciate the feedback!
Also, HUGE shout out to @princessmisery666 for being so patient and supportive! Thank you for being my beta! Your comments were so incredibly helpful!
The best part about working with Bucky was that you got to see him everyday. The worst part was that you were constantly reminded that he wasn’t attracted to you.
You knew you were a good looking woman, people would often tell you that. It usually happened when you weren’t necessarily feeling your prettiest. Somehow that made it worse. Others would compliment you but he never would. Even when you knew you looked good- like you had put in extra effort and actually tried that day- still he would give you nothing.
You sat across from him in the common room looking at all the other Avengers wondering why he didn’t feel the same when you finally got your answer.
“Alright man,” Sam called out to the group. “Top five, let’s go.”
“Top five?” asked Clint, not sure if he wanted to know the answer. “Top five what?”
Everyone looked back to Sam, - “Top five on who you think is lookin’ most fine”.
“You want us to rate each other?” You asked incredulously.
“Naw, man!” Sam replied. “I want to know who you think are the top five most attractive! Male and female!”
You slunk back into the sofa, both curious and terrified of the conversation to come.
You heard huffs from the others but no one objected. Vision went first and of course he could only answer with; “I believe all of you are inherently lovely. I couldn’t possibly pick a top five of those who I find to be most attractive.” As soon as he finished and the room was no longer focused on him though he leaned over to Wanda and said something in her ear that made her blush.
You brought your cup up to your lips to hide your smile. You loved how happy they were after having been through so much heartbreak.
Sam went next, “Imma say, Wanda, Nat, Gamora’s got it goin’ on…for an alien…Hill - don’t tell her I said that- and…Y/N,” he said throwing you a wink.
You smiled but shook your head with a roll of your eyes. You knew the only reason he said your name was because you were in the room. He was trying to be kind. Men didn’t seem to be actively lining up to be with you…it might have something to do with them being intimidated by you being an Avenger but who could possibly know
“Sam you would think anything with legs that gave you the time of day was hot,” Bucky shot.
The others laughed but Sam shot back, “alright, Tin Man, who’s on your list? Okoye?”
“Yeah for one! I would be dead before I could make a move but sure! She’s dangerous and stunning!” He took a swig of bourbon as if he was done.
“Alright then who else?” Wanda leaned forward winking at you.
You shot her a warning look. You had only told her how you felt about Bucky once on a drunken night after finding out he had gone on date with another recruit. Jealousy had reared its ugly head and she could feel your angst that night. You had asked Wanda how; “A tiny little thing that would barely hold her own in the ring,” could possibly catch his eye. It was as if the only thing he saw you as was an ear to listen to his problems and a soldier he could rely on in the field. You had seen them together multiple times since then and every time it pained you more.
She was everything you weren’t. Barely five foot, two inches tall with a skinny frame to match, and a nicely formed backside. In reality you couldn’t be mad at Bucky. He deserved to be happy. He was your friend and you wanted that for him. You just wanted that particular happiness too.
“Okay, okay!” Bucky’s hands came up in surrender as he finished his drink and leaned back to think, He sat so close to you his left bicep of his folded arms brushed yours with every breath he took.“Okoye? Sure…uh… in no particular order…Wanda, Nat, Darcy, and the little woman, Kris, from reception.”
“It seems, Mr. Barnes”, said Vision, “that you prefer mates who are significantly smaller than you. I do believe that of that group, Wanda is the tallest one.”
“Which isn’t really saying much because I’m only five, six”, she complained.
“The perfect height my dear.” Wanda smiled at that and kissed Vision’s cheek .
You took another long sip of your drink as you registered what had been said. Your stomach soured as you finished the glass. Not so much from the alcohol as from the realization that the man who you had secretly been pinning over didn’t even list you as attractive enough to make his top five.
You felt like you knew why. It was just too much. You weren’t small and dainty like those on his list. You had big bones and a can do attitude. You wouldn’t take crap from people. And because you were so tall you could come off as intimidating…or so some men had told you.
“I’m going to get another drink,” You whispered to no one in particular.
But Sam really couldn’t read a room and he called you out. “No, no! Who’s on your list Y/N?”
“Oh no!” You said dryly. “I’d have to be much drunker for that conversation. For now, I'll keep my opinions to myself.”
You spotted Bucky’s surprised face before you made your way over to the bar. The conversation carried on behind you as you refilled your glass. Thoughts of Bucky’s revelation clouding your mind. You were never going to be good enough for him because you were just too big. Too tall. Too much. He liked the smallest, most petite women in the compound. Feeling your emotions swelling, you decided to grab the bottle and made your way quietly out of the room while the ruckus continued.
Once on your floor you closed the door behind you with a forceful slam, “FRIDAY!! Lock the door and don’t open it for anyone!!”
“Yes, Miss Y/L/N.”
The rest of the night was spent on the floor in your sweats drinking from your bottle of whiskey and feeling sorry for yourself and all the things you couldn’t be because of biology.
You weren’t sure if it was a drunken stupor or your imagination but at one point you could have sworn you heard a knock only for it to go away just as quickly.
…
The next day you had an awful hangover and didn’t get out of bed. Bucky came to your door for your normal morning run.
“Tell him I’m not going, Friday.”
“He would like to know why, Miss.”
“Tell him it’s my time of the month.”
“Your time of the month was last week, Miss.”
“Who’s side are you on, Friday? Just tell him I’m sick.”
“Very well, Miss.”
It was silent for a few moments and you had thought that would be enough to get Bucky off your back for now.
“Mr. Barnes would like to know if you’d like to see Dr. Cho, Miss.”
“Uuuugggghhhh,” you rolled out of bed and marched over, irritated that the one person you didn’t want to see was at your door.Pulling it open with a huff you practically screamed. “What?!?”
“Woah!” Bucky jumped back startled at your disheveled appearance and puffy eyes. “I just want to make sure you’re alright, doll. You didn’t come back last night and you never answered the door when I came to check on you.”
So there was a knock last night.
You couldn’t look him in the eye as your eyes filled with tears again, this time with shame. “I’m fine, Bucky.” You started shutting the door quickly and he stuck his hand on it preventing you from closing it again.
“Y/N…what’s…”
“Bucky, I just need some rest okay?” You cut him off, “I’m fine. I promise I’ll be right as rain tomorrow.” You smiled weakly.
Bucky searched your face as if trying to find what you weren’t telling him in your eyes. But you were an Avenger and you knew how to school your features to show nothing.
Bucky sighed and shook his head, “alright, doll. I’m here if you want to talk about anything.”
“Yes, fine,” you said pushing him out the door. Your eyes had flooded with tears again. You didn’t look up to see Bucky’s hurt and concerned face as you closed the door again and put your back to it.
You held your breath listening for his footsteps to retreat before sinking to the floor and crying.
…
The next day was an all out avoid Bucky day. You weren’t sure you could take the questions and worried looks he was sure to give you. Instead, you decided that what you needed was time away from such temptation. And so, you went in to ask Steve for an overseas long assignment.
“You sure about this one, Y/N. It’s a 9 month solo mission. It’s going to be long and it’s going to be lonely.”
“Yes. I’m sure. I need some time to myself.”
Steve looked at you with understanding and pity. He could see how you felt about Bucky even if he couldn’t get his best friend to see it as well.
“Alright,” he said, “suit up. You leave in 2 hours.”
South Africa wasn’t the worst assignment. It wouldn’t take long for you to get the information you needed. And the separation from Bucky would be good for you.
You finished checking your last weapon and loaded it as well as a pair of throwing knives, a gift from Bucky, into your duffle before looking around your room one more time.
You headed to the door and almost made it out until the picture of you and Bucky on your dresser made you stop. Picking it up you smiled at the memory of the minor league baseball game you’d attended together. You had won tickets and no one else was available that night. When you’d offered the tickets to Bucky you couldn’t believe that he said yes! It was the true start of your friendship, talking about life and how much it had changed for him but also how little it had changed for you. He couldn’t believe it when you started singing all the words to “I’ll never smile again”.
“You think I don’t know music? I’m quite cultured, Mr. Barnes!” You had said with a laugh.
“I never said you weren’t, sweetheart!”
Coming back out of your revelry with a start you put the picture back down on the dresser and turned to the door. You were going to get over this infatuation, even if it killed you. Supposedly time heals all wounds. Well you weren’t sure if there was ever going to be enough time but you could get distance.
…
Hours later Bucky came in to tell you about the relationship problems he was having with the girl from reception. She just didn’t seem to understand him and kept picking fights. You had become his confidant and had saved his relationship once before so would most likely be able to do it again.
He was almost to your room when he noticed your door was ajar. Slowing he moved closer and pushed it in silently. The room was neat and quiet. Your bed folded nicely as though it was always that way.
Bucky knew that you never made your bed until you were right about to get in it. Or unless you were going on a trip.
Checking carefully he started to notice things missing. Your favorite slippers were gone. Your tooth brush and favorite stuffed animal turtle were also missing. All of the things that you felt you had to have with you were gone.
Then he saw the picture frame on the dresser. Picking it up he too smiled at the memory, then frowned. It was still here. You almost always took this with you. Why was it still here but everything else you held of value was gone.
“Friday, where is Y/N?”
“Miss Y/L/N has volunteered for a mission, sir.”
“Where?”
“That information is classified.”
“Okay, when will she be back?”
“That information is classified.”
“Alright, who else went on the mission,” he asked hoping whoever it was would have your back.
“All other Avengers are currently in the compound.”
“So she went by herself?” Bucky fumed.
“That information is classified.”
“Damn robots!”
Bucky stormed out and found Steve in the kitchen.
“Where did you send her, punk!
Steve didn’t even look up from his newspaper, knowing exactly what his best friend was talking about.
“She’ll be fine, Buck. She just needs some time to herself.”
“So send her to Fiji! Not a solo mission!!”
“This is her call Bucky. You’ve got to trust her.”
Bucky spun on his heel and headed to the computer lab. He knew he was being irrational but if no one else was going to look after your well-being then he was going to have to do it himself.
It took him all day but he finally unencrypted the files for your mission. You were to carry out a recon mission in Port Elizabeth on a supposed Hydra base. It was a far cry from Fiji but you wouldn’t be in immediate danger.
Still he came in everyday to check in on your reports and find out how the events in the country were progressing. He had even convinced Torres to help him set up notifications to his phone if something were to go wrong. He had, very nicely, threatened him with knives if he didn’t set up Stark’s satellite to keep an eye on you.
After three weeks he was really starting to miss your company. Every time he went out with Kris from reception he realized that she just wasn’t as interesting as you. They didn’t have the same camaraderie and chemistry as the two of you did.
So when his phone dinged at 2:30am he looked at the notification. It was a satellite image of you on your apartment porch drinking coffee. You seemed at ease and calm at your small table. Your hair down and wearing a long red dress. He went to the live feed of the satellite but when he did you weren’t there.
Bucky refreshed the page again thinking it may be just an error. But his rising heartbeat made him think differently. When the screen came back he noticed the upturned coffee mug and the newspapers on the ground.
Bucky flew from his bed and raced down the hall to the command room. Steve and Tony were already there, still in their pajamas.
“…it’s not as if she has a tracker in her, Stark!”
“Well maybe she should! Maybe we should make it a standard issue! Everyone gets a tracker! Friday! Make a note!”
“Yes sir.” replied the AI.
“Tony, we need to focus on the…”
“Where is she?!” Bucky growled.
Both men turned around in surprise. Steve recovered first, his eyes sympathetic for his friend’s worry. “We’re not sure, Buck. These images were only taken 4 hours ago.” He clicked to zoom in closer, “but we did get this.”
He zoomed all the way into the kitchen window behind where you’d sat drinking coffee, where a face reflected in the glass. Bucky looked on in rage, hands in tight fists, as the image became clearer and Zemo came into focus.
…
You awoke with a start, unaware of your surroundings. You sat on a bed in a bare room with a single one way mirror. A metal chair sat by the wall and you noticed no handle on the door. Trying to piece together what had happened you recalled your last memory.
A beautiful morning, the sun shining on the water, a freshly brewed cup of coffee. You sat in your apartment in Port Elizabeth, a pain in your neck…
“Zemo,” you whispered.
“Ah, you’re awake,” said the speaker above you. “I’m sorry about the dramatics but it was necessary. You’re a very important piece of the puzzle.”
“Let me guess,” you said as you rolled your eyes. “You don’t like the way the world is being saved by the Avengers and you think you could do better.”
“Actually I want something else, мой дорогой. I need you.”
“What?” you cried befuddled. “Why on earth would you need me?”
“Do you know what TX-39 is?”
“Yes, I have an entire codex of arbitrary numbers logged away in my brain,” you retorted.
Zemo didn’t pause at your sarcasm. “TX-39 is the compound used to create nucleotides that bond onto nerve endings. By doing so they suspend brain signals stopping all neuro function and rendering the subject immoble. Something you have experienced first hand. By combining a nanotech inhibitor with this nerve ending your subject’s direct motor function is now open to...suggestions.”
You sat astounded as you registered what he had told you. You looked down at your hands but you didn’t feel different. There was no way something like this could work.
“What better way to get rid of a super soldier than to create your own?” Zemo said. You felt a slight buzz in your spine as you stood up quickly trying to resist. Running to the mirror you pulled back your arm, ready to punch your way out, but an inch from the glass your arm stopped. “Ironic that the Soldat will come to save you, only to be the one who needs to be saved.” With that you felt the electricity in your spine disappear and your body was your own again.
Frustration built within you as you sat back on the bed for a moment processing his statement. Your face became more and more incredulous until finally you burst out laughing. You continued laughing harder and harder at the absurdity of Zemo’s reasoning.
“You think I’m the one he is going to come after,” you laughed. “You think you picked the right mouse for your trap? You’re going to wait a long time if you think he’s going to come and get me.”
During your first few weeks away you had missed Bucky fiercely. Leaving him behind so abruptly had felt like severing a part of yourself, but the last few weeks had been good for you. You had forgotten what it was like to rely on yourself. You had grown into yourself again and had realized how little Bucky had actually cared for you when he never came to find you. He hadn’t so much as picked up the phone after you had left. It was as if you had never existed in the first place.
“Bucky doesn’t care about me,” you said sardonically. “He never has. We are barely even friends. You picked the wrong mouse, Zemo. ”
“We’ll see, дорогой,” and with a click he was gone.
Your brain shifted in and out of the conversation with Zemo. Looking down at your hands, you prayed it wasn’t true. You knew that what had happened at the window was real but you didn’t want to believe it. You had been turned into a weapon to hurt your friends. To hurt Bucky.
Crossing your arms over your chest you laid down on the bed, rolled over to face the wall, and cried.
…
Avengers Compound
“There is a five mile radius around Agent Y/L/N last known location,” said Fury. “Two man teams will sweep the area in a grid formation while the drones scan for energy signatures. Any questions?”
All those around the table sat silent, but nodded confirmation of their understanding of the objective. Fury looked around the room, “This mother fucker took one of ours and I wanna know why. Let’s get going.”
Bucky stood up from the table and made his way out of the room to the Quinjet hangar. Steve pulled on his arm before entering the plane. “I know what’s going through your mind right now Buck, but we are going to get her back”.
Bucky looked at the ground before raising his eyes to his friend. “He knew how to get to me, Steve. He always knows where to hurt me. He couldn’t use you. You’re too difficult to overpower. So he had to pick her. I just,” Bucky wasn’t sure how to finish his thought. Words never came easily to him and he wasn’t sure he could really express what he was feeling. “I just want her safe.”
After you had left Bucky felt hollow inside. He hadn’t realized how much joy you brought to his day with your smiles and jokes. Always knowing what to say, or at least, what he needed to hear. Your departure made him realize he needed you. Boarding the jet Bucky knew that no matter what happened he was going to tell you how he felt.
…
The team had been sweeping through the city for what felt like hours and there still hadn’t been any developments. Walking through another alleyway Bucky scanned the cobblestone streets. He was beginning to lose hope at ever finding you at all when he saw an uneven line in between two buildings.
Pressing his comm link he called out, “Steve, I’ve got something. I’m going to check it out.”
“Bucky, wait for backup. We’ll come to you.”
Feeling along the wall Bucky felt a draft between the cracks. Unholstering the gun at his hip he pushed against the wall feeling it give way.
“I’m going in. Follow my location.”
“Bucky, wait!” Steve called.
Bucky ignored his calls and continued down the dimly lit hall. The walls opened up to a staircase leading down to a command room. The musky scent of decay and scotch filled Bucky’s nostrils.
“Privet, Soldat,” Zemo called from the darkness.
Bucky whirled around to find nothing.
“Have you come for your little mouse?”
Still searching, Bucky said nothing as the sound came from a different corner of the room.
“Have you realized how much you miss her?”
Bucky circled again, coming up to a window.
“I wonder what it is? Is it her sweetness that draws you? Or her willingness to see you for more than the killer you are?”
Bucky frowned. Zemo was playing with him.
“Or have you realized that her fire is what draws you to her? She does have a talented tongue. I’ve seen her put it to good use,” Zemo provoked. “I have enjoyed having her in my company, but it seems you really never appreciated her spirit, did you?”
Bucky continued searching the room as Zemo continued his monologue. Coming up to the computer he saw a paused video feed. It played as soon as he stepped forward.
Bucky saw you in a room, still in your red sundress. Your hair was matted and you had the look in your eye of anger and exasperation. When you spoke, Bucky felt the wind rush out of his lungs.
“Bucky doesn’t care about me,” you said sardonically. “He never has. We are barely even friends.”
“A pity she never saw you care, but I suppose it’s only fair that you tell her now.”
The door beside the window clicked open with a beep. You came out of the cell with a look of wary surprise on your face. “Bucky?”
“Now is your moment, Sergeant Barnes. Why not tell her how you feel before it's too late,” called Zemo.
Bucky holstered his gun and walked toward you. “Y/N? Are you okay? Come on, let's get out of here.”
He grabbed your hand and turned to go but you were rooted to the spot. Your breathing became heavy as you felt the tingling sensation in your spine again.
“Bucky, I need you to leave,” you cried, dread dripping from your voice.
“What? No,sweetheart, come on! I’m not leaving you.”
“Bucky, I…” you started.
“Last chance to declare yourself, Soldat.”
Looking up in anger, Bucky yelled. “Shut up, Zemo. I’m not performing for you-” Bucky’s head turned in surprise as you punched him across the face. “What the hell, Y/N?”
“It wasn’t me!” you cried as you dropped and kicked his legs out from under him.
Bucky rolled over quickly to pick himself up as you followed him swinging punches at his head and kicks to his stomach. Your moves were both erratic and efficient as they landed multiple times. It was all Bucky could do to block your assault and move out of the way.
“This isn’t me!” you cried again between punches. “Zemo is controlling me with nanotech!”
Bucky threw up an arm to block your punch before flipping you around by your arm and pressing you to the wall. He didn’t want to hurt you but he was pretty sure that it wasn’t the most comfortable position.
“It’s okay, Y/N. We’re going to get you out of this.”
Your foot kicked his leg and you pushed yourself over and around his head and away from the wall. Grabbing the knife at his hip as you slipped out of his grip, you threw it into his thigh.
Bucky looked at you in surprise and annoyance. “Sorry!” you winced. Pulling the knife from his leg he tossed it to the floor.
“Look, Y/N. I’m not going anywhere, but try not to kill me, okay?”
“It’s not like I’m doing this on purpose Bucky!” you huffed as you charged at him.
“Well I’m just trying to get you out of the problem you put yourself in!” You had grabbed another knife and went to stab him. Bucky caught the knife and twisted your hand but the knife snagged your dress and tore the skirt as you fought to wrestle it away.
Your eyes flared with anger and the next punch you threw had a little extra heft in it.
“That I put myself in? How about you, Mr. Barge-into-a-room-with-no-back-up!”
“Oh, I’m sorry, I thought you liked being saved! Although you’re one to talk! You came on a mission without backup!” Bucky rolled across the computer console out of the way of your next kick, getting agitated at your attitude.
“Because I needed space!” you yelled as you followed him around the computer desk.
“Space? Space from what?” Bucky yelled back, actually throwing a punch that you easily evaded.
“You! You idiot!” it burst out of you as you came up swinging before pushing him to the ground.
Bucky looked up at you with his eyes wide. You had him straddled under your legs. Bucky brought his arms up to block your punches while he tried to talk to you.
“Why would you need space from me? I don’t understand. You left without warning, without saying goodbye! Your mission was classified so I had to hack F.R.I.D.A.Y to even find out where you were!”
Your body was starting to fatigue from the strain of the fight as you continued to land blow after blow. You were fit and well trained but because your body was not your own you were blowing through energy rapidly. Your breaths were coming in short gasps as your chest heaved at each punch. If you kept this up, you weren’t sure how much time you would have before your body gave out entirely.
“Y/N, you left a huge gap! You were my best friend and then you were gone! You wouldn’t even talk to me before you left! You didn’t tell me you were leaving. I couldn’t even call you because the mission was supposed to be classified!”
Maybe it was the fatigue, maybe the hopelessness you felt, but you gave him everything you had left as you pummeled into him. Frustration over your situation, frustration at him, frustration at yourself built up inside you.
“I WILL NOT BE YOUR STAND IN! I will not be second best. I can’t look on anymore as you find someone smaller, cuter, littler to fit perfectly into your life! I deserve to be wanted! I deserve to be desired!” you screamed at the man beneath you as tears streamed down your cheeks.
Bucky finally bucked his hips and flipped you under him, pinning your hands to the ground next to your head.
“Get off of me! Let me go!” you had finally had enough. The damn had broken and your emotions and insecurities raged inside you. Your body pulled and twisted to break free from his grip.
“You do deserve to be desired,” Bucky said calmly as he caged you beneath him. “You are nobody's stand in. You’re perfect just as you are.” He wanted to say more but it was all he could do to keep you pinned under him.
The team burst down into the control room to see you openly weeping and Bucky on top of you.
“Nat, I need you to put an electric burst in my arm.” Bucky said looking up.
“I’m sorry, you what?” asked Nat.
“Just do it!” he said as you fought harder against him.
With a nod from Steve, Nat waved her baton and zapped Bucky’s arm causing both of you to scream in pain. When your body finally stopped seizing, the lack of adrenaline and the pain and fatigue caught up to you and you passed out in Bucky’s arms.
“You want to explain why I just pushed fifty thousand volts through you two?”
“Zemo infected her with some kind of nano tech. She hasn’t been in control this entire time.”
Steve scanned around the room. “Alright team, fan out. See if you can find out where Zemo went. I want teams down here with sat links up in 30 minutes.”
Bucky circled the gears around in his arm to get it up and running again before scooping you carefully off the ground.
“Buck, get her on the next jet out. Dr. Cho and Banner will be waiting for you to get back.”
…
For the second time you woke up in an unfamiliar place, and struggled to get your bearings. You felt like you’d been run over by a pick up truck and tumbled through a dryer.
Feeling slowly returned to your hands as your eyes opened and your vision cleared. You were in one of the medical rooms at the compound you realized.
“Look who decided to wake up,” said a gruff voice.
Turning your head you saw Bucky sitting in the chair beside you. He looked fresh and his eyes twinkled at you.
“Bucky,” you croaked as you tried to sit up.
“Woah there. You just relax. Your body is still trying to catch up from Zemo’s nanites.”
You slumped back down in the bed as Bucky leaned forward to take your hand.
“You had me worried there for a minute, doll. You’ve been sleeping for days. Wasn’t sure when you were going to pull through.”
“You doubt me, Barnes?”
“Not for a second, sweetheart, but I sure as hell missed you.” Bucky smiled, then looked down for a moment as if trying to find the right words. “We need to talk about why you left, Y/N.”
“No, Bucky, I...it doesn’t matter.” You say looking away. “It’s not important.”
“I don’t know, I’d say you thinking you don’t matter to me is pretty important.” You turned to look at him sharply, mouth open in a small gasp. “And I’d also say that you thinking I don’t find you desirable is pretty important too.”
You sat in shock as he spoke, not wanting to break the way you had during your fight.
“Y/N, you are perfect. You knew me before I even knew myself. You light up the whole room just by being in it. You are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. You are strong, independent, kind, and gentle. You’re like a tall Asgardian goddess. Every inch of you is beautiful. I thought back to the last time we talked...before you left, and I realized why you did. I know why you thought I wasn’t attracted to you. That night, Sam’s list,” he paused as if pained at the memory, “I didn’t add you because...well, because I was so confused at how I was feeling. You were my friend. I didn’t realize till it was too late that I was already falling in love with you. And I most definitely didn’t want to give Sam anymore ammunition.”
You looked up at him sharply when he dropped the L word.
Bucky stood to reposition himself on the edge of your bed. Taking your face in his hands he leans forward until your foreheads barely touch. “I didn’t want to ruin things with you. You were my friend. You were perfect and I thought you deserved better so I ran to find something that was everything you weren’t. You are my perfect fit. You are just right. You are the only person I want. Please tell me you’re mine. Please tell me I haven’t lost you.”
You brought your hand up to rest over his as you let his words wash over you.
He wanted you. He thought you were beautiful. All of you. All of the parts people had told you were too much: your height, your attitude, your independence - he wanted it all.
You did something that you wanted to do for months, you brought your lips up to his softly and gave him a chaste kiss. “I was always yours Bucky,” You pulled his hands down and pushed him away to look into his eyes, “but I won’t be taken for granted anymore. I shouldn’t have to leave for you to want me. I shouldn’t have to be gone for you to realize what you had. I left for a reason. It was to find peace with myself. I realized that I didn’t need your approval. I didn’t need your desire to be whole. I won’t settle for someone who can’t see what’s right in front of them. I know my worth.”
Bucky looked at you sorrowfully as he held onto your fingers, memorizing their shape. “I’m sorry. I never meant to hurt you. I never meant to make you feel like you weren’t enough.”
“I know, but it happened. I don’t need you to be happy, Bucky...” Bucky hung his head in dejection. “...But I do want you.”
Bucky looked up at you sharply to find your eyes full of love and warmth. You wanted him. Even after all that happened - how he forced you away, how he made you feel like you weren’t good enough, you were still willing to forgive him. You wanted him even with all his faults.
You brought him closer for another kiss and savored the way his lips fell across yours. Breaking away to look up at him you said what you had been holding in for months, “And I love you too.”

On The Run
Request: ''I had a bad dream'' with Steve Rogers. - @fangirllife98
Summary: After the incidents from Civil War, you and Steve are on the run together.
Pairing: Steve Rogers x Reader / Nomad!Steve x Reader
Word Count: 2.1k
Warning: Nothing triggering, I think? I suck at warnings. There isn't any physical description for the reader.
Notes at the end.
+ This is not proofread, I apologize in advance for all the mistakes you're about to see.
Steve Rogers had been your friend since he had come out of the ice. You used to work for SHIELD but you were neither an agent or an Avenger, you worked in the medical field and you had been hired to monitor Steve’s health until he woke up and after. You spent a lot of time with him and quickly became close friends. You both have very similar personalities and it made it very easy to get along. He could spend hours talking to you about his life from before and he could listen to you for hours as you tried to explain to him everything that was new and different.
He loved that you weren’t an agent or an Avenger, it allowed him to have his own little escape from that part of his life whenever it got to be too much. You were, and still are, one of his best friends and he trusts you with his life.
When he decided to go look for Bucky, he wanted you to come with him. In case Bucky needed medical help, you were the only person he’d trust around his childhood best friend. Of course, you went with him. You had listened to Steve tell you hundreds of stories about the trouble he’d get into with his friend, Bucky was too important for him to refuse to go look for him with Steve.
You hadn’t expected to become fugitives of the law, yet here you are a year later; running and hiding with Captain America.
Steve brought Bucky to Wakanda so that he could heal and understand what exactly happened to him, when he came back the feud between him and Tony was far from being over and since he went against the Sokovia Accords, he found himself on the other side of the law and since you had helped him, you were considered an accomplice and were on the ‘’wanted’’ list next to Steve’s name. Tony could have gotten them out of it but when Steve chose Bucky over him, he decided to let him fend for himself. Steve had given you a choice; he could get you a place to live in another country where you’d be safe from the authorities or you could stay with him but that meant you would have to constantly be on the move.
You’d much rather be constantly on the move with your friend, than staying in one place in a country you didn’t know without being able to see him for who knows how long, the choice had been very simple and easy for you.
After a year, the heat had died down and it allowed you to stay in one place for longer periods of time. Steve had grown a beard and let his hair get longer, it made it harder for people to recognize him. Not a lot of people knew what you look like, but you decided to dye your hair from time to time just in case someone might recognize you.
A few days ago, you and Steve went back to New York. It’s Steve’s safe place and it’s so crowded, it makes it hard for anyone to recognize either of you. Steve had found a shady motel in a shady part of town that accepted to be paid in cash, no IDs required and no questions asked. You each had a room, a door connected them and you always left it opened just to keep an eye on each other.
It’s hard to sleep. You haven’t had a single good night of sleep since you left with Steve, you were scared that if you fell into too deep of a sleep, you wouldn’t hear if someone came for you.
Tonight is your third night in a row at this motel, you were tired of eating food from the vending machines so you decided to go get some takeouts for dinner. Steve doesn’t like when you go out on your own but it was too risky for him to go with you, that’s why you mainly ate food from vending machines. After dinner, you took showers in your respective rooms. After your shower, you put on a pair of sweats and a tank top and sat on your bed, waiting for Steve to join you to watch a movie.
‘’Come on, old man.’’ You called out towards his room.
He was taking his time and you were anxious to get the movie started.
His head poked out from his bathroom door, his hair completely drenched.
‘’That nickname wasn’t funny years ago when you used it for the first time, and it’s not funny now.’’
You laughed and pointed at your smile. ‘’Speak for yourself, I personally think it’s funny.’’
He rolled his eyes.
‘’Come on, Stevie. I’m tired.’’
Steve squinted as he looked at the alarm clock on your nightstand. ‘’It’s barely 8:30. How am I the old man here?’’
‘’You were born at the beginning of the 1900s, I was born at the end of the 1900s thus making you old.’’
‘’Well, give me 5 minutes and I’ll be right there. You can start the movie, I’ll still be able to hear it from here.’’ He told you, going back into the bathroom but leaving the door slightly opened.
You did as he said, you pressed play on the movie you had chosen earlier and sat with your back against the headboard, pillows behind you to make it more comfortable.
Five minutes later, Steve emerged from the bathroom and sat down next to you. He lifted his arm to let you snuggle up against his body and then laid it on your back, his hand resting on your hip.
Movie night always meant cuddle time.
Though you loved Steve with all of your heart and he loved you with all of his, the last few months had started to get rough for the both of you. You had never realized how much you were fond of hugs and human touch until you couldn’t do either. You came to a mutual understanding that, to keep your sanity, you would have cuddle time and it had sincerely helped better both of your moods.
Once the movie was over Steve turned off the TV, gave you a kiss on your forehead and went back to his room for the night. As soon as the lights were off, you fell asleep.
You were woken up a few hours later by something touching your foot above your covers. You quickly opened your eyes and relaxed when you saw Steve standing at the foot of your bed.
‘’What’s wrong?’’ Your voice was barely audible as you were still half asleep.
‘’I- I had a bad dream. Really bad. Can I stay with you?’’ He whispered.
You could hear how anxious he was and that woke you up. You grabbed the covers that were around your shoulders and lifted them up. Steve quickly walked around the bed and joined you, settling under the sheets. You waited until he was completely laid down and lowered the covers on top of both of your bodies.
‘’Are you ok?’’ You whispered.
You were laying on your side, facing him while he was laying on his back, looking at the ceiling. He turned his head and looked at you. His eyes were looking at every detail of your face, trying to burn this image of you into his brain so he’d never forget how beautiful you looked in this exact moment.
Steve’s had a crush on you since the first day he met you. At first he didn’t think too much of it, thinking it was just because you were the first woman he’d seen in over 70 years. Then, you two became really close friends and his feelings only got stronger throughout the years but he was going through a lot and he didn’t think it was fair of him to drag you into his problems so he decided to wait before telling you how he felt. He was finally gathering up the courage around the time Bucky resurfaced and before he knew it the two of you were on the run and he was terrified to confess his feelings to you and that you’d reject him. You two literally only had each other, he couldn’t risk ruining your friendship. Not when it was the only thing keeping the both of you completely sane.
You were both so oblivious, it was almost painful. Steve thought he’d ruin your friendship by telling you how he felt and you were keeping your very similar feelings to yourself because you didn’t think you were good enough for Steve Rogers, America’s Golden Boy. Though you tried not to let it show, you were a very insecure person and you barely felt like you were good enough to be friends with him, there’s no way he’d ever see you as girlfriend material.
‘’I don’t think I am.’’ He finally answered, whispering too.
He laid on his side to face you. It was pitch black in your room, but street lamps outside still managed to peak out from between the blinds, allowing you to see Steve’s face a little better. Whereas with his enhanced everything, Steve could see you very clearly.
‘’What do you need?’’ You asked softly.
‘’You.’’ He answered without hesitation.
You had one hand tucked under your head and you reached out to the other one, brushing your fingers against his jawline soothingly.
‘’I’m right here.’’
He closed his eyes for a moment, enjoying the gentle touch on his jaw. When he opened his eyes again, he reached out over to you to wrap his arm around your waist and pulled you closer to his chest. You were so close to him that you had to tilt your head back to be able to look at him while he had to look down. You moved your hand to the back of his head and played with his hair that was still a little damp from his shower earlier.
‘’Do you want to talk about your dream?’’ You offered knowing that sometimes talking about it helped him.
He shook his head no, his eyes on you and never looking away.
‘’I don’t want to talk.’’
His hand that rested at the small of your back was now moving up to cup the side of your face, using his thumb to gently stroke your cheek.
Somehow, Steve’s face felt closer than it had a few seconds ago. Your heart started racing and you were sure he could hear it. His thumb moved down, the pad of his finger brushed over your lower lip a few times. It sent shivers down your spine. Steve leaned down a little more, his thumb going back to rest on your cheek. His eyes kept flickering between your lips and your eyes. He was ready to stop at any sign of you being uncomfortable. He gently brushed his nose against yours and when you didn’t pull away, he finally kissed you.
Your eyes fluttered shut and you felt your cheeks heat up. Steve didn’t leave you enough time to kiss him back, as he pulled away quickly. Your eyes opened, scared to see the regret on his face but instead all you could see was how nervous he was.
‘’Is this ok?’’
You nodded as an answer, not trusting your voice to function properly. He quickly closed the gap between the two of you, this time giving you a chance to kiss him back. Both your eyes were closed, his thumb started moving on your cheek again and your hand that was in his hair slowly slid down his neck, then his chest to finally move under his arm and rest on his back. The kiss was slow, as if Steve was afraid to hurt you, but you both could feel all the emotions and feelings that you hadn’t had the courage to confess being put into this kiss. He pulled back, just enough to give you a chance to breathe. Both the kiss and how loved you felt leaving you a little breathless.
He looked at you and waited until you opened your eyes. The look in his eyes made your breath hitched in your throat. He had so much love in his eyes that you thought your heart was going to melt in your chest. He rested his forehead against yours, kissing the tip of your nose.
‘’You.’’ He echoed his thoughts from earlier. His voice was barely audible but he was so close that you could hear him perfectly. ‘’I just need you.’’
I am a big sucker for Nomad!Steve, look at that glorious beard!
I hope this wasn't too cringey. This was my FIRST TIME writing a kissing scene, so please be kind. I know it was probably really bad, I'm sorry!
Thank you to my dear @fangirllife98 for requesting this. I hope you liked it and that it fed your little Steve hunger for the day.

➥Genre: established relationship, (somewhat?) heavy angst, smut, fluff, hurt/comfort
➥Rating: 18+

➥Content warnings: story mostly told from jungkook’s POV, jungkook has a nightmare, feelings of insecurity and anxiety, mentions of harassment (not much), yoongi to the rescue (seriously he’s the voice of reason i love him), making out, grinding, slight hair pulling, riding on top, reader is in control (and jk is happy about it), unprotected sex (safe sex is great sex), cumming inside, cute times in the shower, jungkook is actually the sweetest, reader and jk are so in love with each other it hurts, also jk saying ‘only for you’ is a thing i started and can’t stop now oops
A/N: hello! This is part of my Only for You (OFY) Drabble series, but it can be read as a stand-alone! Their relationship will make a lot more sense though if you’ve read OFY beforehand. This fic takes place roughly around a year after the events of OFY. (I also mentioned this in the post for OFY but for those who haven’t read it, the Kun in the story isn’t referring to any other irl person specifically, it was just a name I chose to make the initial story easier to write.)
As always, thank you to @dntaewithluv for being so supportive of me and motivating me to keep writing when there are times I feel like I shouldn’t. And for also being my beta-reader and just generally an amazing person, one of the best friends I could ever ask for.
I’ve written a few other drabbles and will list them below, along with a general timeline:
Use My Best Colors For Your Portrait - ~6 months after OFY
Stay With Me - a few months after this dream drabble
I know this is the most angsty thing I’ve written so far (update: Stay With Me now holds this title), but I got attached to these characters and wanted to tell more of their story so here we are. I basically wrote this all in one sitting because I’ve had this idea in my head for a little while and I was excited to get it out. I hope that if you read this, you enjoy it~

⊱──────── ✬ ✬ ✬ ────────⊰
Jungkook was dreaming again.
It was a dream he’d had many times now, and it always started the same way. He watched as you appeared in the doorway of the chapel, ready to make your trek down the aisle.
You looked dazzling in your dress, and through the thin veil that covered your face, Jungkook could see the brilliant smile you wore, which caused him to break out into one of his own. Each step that brought you closer to him made his heart race faster, and it didn’t take long for you to finally be in front of him.
Well…somewhat in front of him.
He could only watch as at the last second, you turned slightly and were now standing in front of Kun, the man you were originally meant to marry. Jungkook’s stomach twisted with fear as he observed Kun lift your veil over your head and take your hands in his as you both stared into each other’s eyes. You, looking at Kun with all the love in the world, because that’s just how you were. And Kun, looking back at you, with a sinister expression that made Jungkook feel dizzy.
He opened his mouth to object, to speak, to do something but no sound would come out. Everyone around him that had gathered to see you get married were either oblivious to Jungkook’s obvious distress, or they just didn’t care.
They weren’t here for him, after all. They were here for you, in the same way that he was here for you, too.
When his legs could finally move without crumpling underneath him, he walked over to stand next to you and Kun as he tried to reach out to you. He couldn’t touch you, though, because it was like there was an invisible wall in between the two of you now. A wall he could still see through but couldn’t reach past. He moved back at the realization, only to be met with something similar hitting his back.
Jungkook whirled around and was met with the same thing, now surrounding him on all sides, trapping him inside some sort of box. A box where he could still see what was happening but couldn’t stop it despite what he did. He felt suffocated.
He was shouting from inside his new prison, banging on the walls, trying to make any sort of sound that would reach you. And he knew you couldn’t hear him; you didn’t spare even one glance his way. But he still had to try. The longer he let this go on, the greater the chance of losing you grew to be.
And the possibility of that, of losing you in any capacity, was something he couldn’t bear to even think about.
Jungkook could hear everything coming from your mouth. The cheerfulness in your voice was usually something he loved to hear under any given circumstance. But in this case, it was threatening to tear him apart. He listened dismally as the two of you started reciting your vows to each other.
And his heart started to break when he heard the words from the letter he’d tried to give you all those years ago. Tears were forming in his vision as he listened to Kun rattle off the words he’d written for you. Words he never got to claim as his own until much later, when it was almost too late.
He could feel his heart shatter at the sight of the breathtaking smile on your face as you two finished your vows, moving now to kiss each other and seal the deal.
He tried once more to call out to you, but any sound he could’ve possibly made would’ve been immediately drowned out by the cheering from everyone around you.
His legs gave out as he knelt down to the floor, helplessly staring at you as you linked your arm with Kun’s to walk back down the aisle as a newly married couple. It took the last bit of his strength to look up as you passed, and you didn’t notice him.
But Kun did.
Kun paused in front of Jungkook, still separated by that invisible wall, and he grinned. It was the kind of grin you’d expect from someone who’s sole purpose in life was to sabotage others’ happiness. Which, ironically enough, is exactly what Kun was now known for.
All Jungkook could do was look on while you left the chapel, followed by the many guests who had gathered for the ceremony. Only when everyone was gone was he able to move about freely, but he opted to remain seated on the floor there instead as the chapel slowly started to fill with darkness once the doors closed.
Jungkook awoke with a start, bolting upright and inhaling a sharp intake of air. He was covered in sweat that dampened his hair and made it stick to his forehead. His breathing was shallow, and it took him a few seconds to remember where he was.
He was at home, in his bed. It was nighttime and sleeping next to him was a figure who’d remained undisturbed by his sudden movement.
He cautiously looked over at your sleeping form. You were turned on your side, facing away from him, breathing peacefully. His eyes softened at the sight and he could feel his heartbeat start to slow down into a pace much less frantic.
He pushed his hair out of his face as he took a deep breath. He knew he should probably wake you, especially since you always told him to do so whenever he had nightmares. Lately, he hadn’t been having any bad dreams, so it had been a while since he last had to rouse you from your slumber.
He reached an arm out, only for it to gently fall by his side. He hated waking you unless it was really important, because he knew you sometimes had trouble sleeping, and this included falling back asleep if something made you wake up during the middle of the night. You’d been especially exhausted lately, what with the new exciting event that had suddenly happened in both of your lives.
Well, exciting wasn’t really the right word. Terrifying fit way better.
After managing to avoid Kun for over an entire year, he somehow turned up at your new place of employment one day, surprising you and frightening you all at the same time. He told the staff at the front desk that he was an ‘old friend, here to congratulate you on your new position.’ And they believed it, so they let him come up to your office unsupervised.
Let’s just say when Jungkook heard about that little ordeal, he was not pleased at all.
Ever since then, Kun had been borderline harassing you, even sometimes going as far as to try and talk to Jungkook during his shifts at the bar. That lasted for all of maybe 2 encounters before Kun found himself banned and unable to return.
You both thought he was out of your life for good after the break-up, but he was proving to be much more of a plague than you or Jungkook initially imagined. So yes, these recent events had maybe been causing Jungkook to have intrusive thoughts once again that translated themselves into the one recurring nightmare he used to have shortly after the two of you got together.
The nightmare of him losing you. You obviously didn’t end up marrying Kun, but you came a lot closer to it than Jungkook liked. And that wasn’t because he’d been pining after you for years; he could’ve dealt with that, if it ended with you being happy. It was more so the reason that your relationship with Kun hadn’t seemed genuine on his end, and Jungkook wanted better for you than that.
Sometimes he wondered if he was the right one to give you what you deserved.
He shook his head to keep more thoughts from seeping in, but he knew sitting here alone in the dark wouldn’t help with that for long. He glanced at the time on his phone. It was 2:08 A.M., so not too late, but most people were usually sleeping at that time.
Nonetheless, Jungkook pulled back the covers and swung his feet over the side of the bed to stand up. He moved as gently as possibly to not risk waking you, but on his way to the bathroom he had to pass by your side of the bed.
Your sleeping face was free of worry, and your lips were slightly parted as you were breathing softly. The sight made Jungkook’s heart thump. He couldn’t help himself when he leaned down to plant a gentle kiss on your forehead.
If you woke up, he’d just tell you he had to use the restroom and try to coax you back to sleep. You looked too cute for him not to kiss you, though, so he deduced it was worth the risk.
He padded off to the bathroom then, only wearing a pair of gym shorts. Every step he took was calculated so he didn’t make much noise, and when he finally made it to the bathroom, he closed the door as quietly as possible, listening to the faint click before he leaned against the sink.
He sighed and fished his phone out of his pocket, scrolling through his contacts until he found the name he was looking for. After dialing the number, he put the phone to his ear, and within 2 rings someone picked up.
“Kook? You ok?”
Jungkook smiled. “Yeah, Yoongs, I’m ok. Just needed to talk to someone, that’s all.”
He heard shuffling from the end of the line and he felt a small pang of guilt at the fact that he may have woken his friend up. But then again, it was Yoongi, and he wasn’t a stranger to being up at this hour.
Yoongi hummed. “Y/N not awake then, huh?”
Jungkook shook his head, despite Yoongi not being able to see him. Yoongi took his silence as confirmation.
“Hm, well you do know I love talking to you, but I am wondering why this time of night?”
Jungkook sighed. Better to get it over with than beat around the bush. “I had a nightmare.”
“Oh no,” he could hear the somberness of Yoongi’s tone. “Is it the same one, or…”
“Same one,” Jungkook answered without hesitation.
“Kook, we’ve been over this-”
“I know,” he groaned, running a hand down his face. “I know. Trust me, I don’t want to keep having this happen either.”
“Can you think of anything that may have triggered it?”
Jungkook tongued his cheek then. The more he thought about it, the only thing he could see as being a potential trigger for these dreams to come flooding back would be Kun’s unwanted reappearance.
While he was still thinking, Yoongi continued.
“Do you think it has anything to do with that asshole showing up again?”
Jungkook smirked. He knew how much disdain Yoongi had for Kun, and for good reason.
“Yeah, it’s exactly that, I’m almost positive.”
It sounded like Yoongi was moving again and Jungkook could just picture him now, sitting up and shaking his head in disappointment, not at Jungkook, but at the situation.
“Jungkook, I’m gonna level with you.”
Jungkook gulped.
“I honestly have no idea why you’re letting someone like that affect you. He’s not worth your time, he’s not worth Y/N’s time, not worth anyone’s time if you ask me. Letting him continue to have this kind of effect on you isn’t healthy.”
Jungkook sighed again, his breath coming out somewhat shaky. “I know, it’s just…it’s hard. It’s really hard, Yoongs. I can’t help but think of how close I came to losing her and fuck it hurts every time I think about it.”
“First of all, you wouldn’t have lost her, and you know that-”
“Yeah but seeing him is a reminder that I came close.”
“Jungkook,” Yoongi’s tone was stern now, and Jungkook immediately stopped talking.
Yoongi took a deep breath. “Like I was saying, you wouldn’t have lost her. You mean too much to her and she means too much to you for either of you to have let that happen. Give her a little more credit, yeah?”
At the mention of you, Jungkook’s lips curved upwards into a smile. He knows you’d never allow anything to take you away from him, outside of maybe some things beyond both of your control. But you certainly would never let someone come in between the friendship you both shared.
A friendship that had developed over several years and had now blossomed into a beautiful, loving partnership.
There it was again: you. Anytime Jungkook thought about you, it always made him happy. He was so in love with you and had been for so many years, so it was sometimes still surreal to him that you two were together now. Your smiling face was all he needed to get him through some days.
But right now the vision of you playing out in his head was the sight of you the night he found you in your house kneeling on the floor after Kun broke your marriage off. You looked so utterly broken, and Jungkook made a promise to himself then and there that he’d do anything in his power to make it so you never felt that way again.
“Kook? You still with me there?”
Yoongi’s voice roused Jungkook out of his thoughts. “Yeah, I’m here.”
“Good. You know I worry about you, kid.”
Jungkook smiled. “I know.”
“This is the first time you’ve had this dream in a while, right?”
Jungkook leaned against the sink again, looking at the tiled floor underneath his feet. “Yeah, it’s been months.”
“Then I want you to do something for me, ok?”
Confused, but intrigued, Jungkook shook his head. “Yeah, sure.”
“I want you to take a look at your left hand.”
Jungkook did as he was told, splaying his fingers out in front of him.
“Now tell me what you see?”
Jungkook’s breath caught in his throat as he looked at his gold wedding band as it glistened faintly in the light of the room.
“My wedding ring,” he answered softly.
“Exactly. Your wedding ring. It belongs to you. And it means you’re the one who’s married to her. Not him, not anyone else, but you.”
Jungkook could see exactly where Yoongi was going with this, and the thought made him almost tear up. Yoongi knew exactly what to say and when to say it whenever Jungkook needed reassurance about something, and this was one of those times.
“Jungkook, I’m gonna tell you this, and it’s something I want you to remember. Y/N loves you. She loves you so much. My God, sometimes it’s hard to look at you two because you’re always so lovey dovey like-”
Jungkook laughed. “Yeah, yeah, I get it.”
He could imagine Yoongi smiling on the other end. “Good. I think as long as you remember that, you’ll be ok. It’d probably still help to talk to her, though. You know how upset she’d be if she knew you were suffering in silence about your dreams again.”
Jungkook shakily inhaled, his grip on the sink behind him tightening. “I know. I’ll talk to her, probably in the morning since she’s still asleep-”
Jungkook cut himself off when he heard the soft sound of you calling his name. “Yoongs, I gotta go, thank you for answering and for everything else.”
Yoongi chuckled. “Anytime. Night, Kook.”
Jungkook hung up the phone and peered from behind the bathroom door. He saw you sitting up in the bed now, rubbing your eyes before you stretched. He was so fond of you, the sight made his heart swell.
He also noticed how the t-shirt you were wearing had ridden up some during your stretch and he could see the exposed skin of your thighs now now. He even thought that something as simple as you wearing a t-shirt was breathtaking. And when it was one of his t-shirts, like it was now – on some days it was enough to drive him crazy.
Now wasn’t the time for that though. He watched lovingly as you focused your eyes on him and smiled. He wasted no time getting back in the bed with you, seated with one leg crossed under him, his hand coming down to rest on top of your own.
“Hey,” you greeted him with a lazy kiss. Jungkook melted into the kiss when you deepened it, because after everything he just went through, any touch from you now was igniting all his feelings for you.
All of them, which is why he pulled back to rest his forehead against yours.
“Hey,” he said with a smile, nuzzling his nose against yours before pulling away to look at you. He could tell you were still sleepy, but you wouldn’t attempt to go back to sleep without talking first. Especially since he knew you could tell something might be off.
Your brows furrowed. “Koo? What’s wrong?”
Jungkook took a deep breath, intertwining his fingers with yours. “I had another nightmare.”
The immediate look of concern on your face made his heart lurch, and not in a pleasant way. “Baby, what happened?”
He brought up your hand to place a kiss on your knuckles, right above your ring.
“I had that nightmare. You know the one…”
You frowned. “Jungkook-”
“But it’s ok, really. I talked to Yoongi and I feel a little better.” He was looking anywhere but your face now, so you placed a hand under his chin, tilting it up so he’d look at you.
“You know you can always wake me up and talk to me.” You brushed your thumb across one of his cheekbones and he sighed into the touch.
“I know. You’ve been having trouble sleeping lately so I-”
“You also know that if I have trouble sleeping, usually cuddling with you helps. So please don’t use that as an excuse.”
Jungkook felt guilty again because he knew you were right. Before he came along, sleeping wasn’t always easy for you, but in the comfort of his arms, you found slumber much faster these days.
You took Jungkook’s face in both of your hands, your own chest twisting with pain at the sight of him. His big, doe-like eyes were shining with so much emotion, and all you wanted to do was take away all his worries.
“Do you know why you had that dream again?”
Jungkook nodded, absentmindedly brushing his thumb along your thigh. “Everything that’s happened with Kun lately, it- I don’t know, it just bothers me. It bothers me way more than it should. And I guess it just made me think again about- well, you know.”
Jungkook’s head hung then, and you leaned down so you could look into his eyes once more. He brought his head up to keep you from having to lean uncomfortably like that for too long.
“Koo,” you brushed a piece of his long, dark curly locks out of his face. “I love you. I’m in love with you. I know that things happened in the past that we can’t erase or change, but what we can do is focus on our future. Our future that we’re building together.”
He started to smile at your words, his heart lurching again now, but in a good way this time. Every time you told him you were in love with him, he felt like he could conquer the world.
“So please don’t worry about what almost happened or what could’ve been, because what matters is we’re here now. We’re here together. And I don’t plan on going anywhere,” you placed a quick peck on his lips, “Unless you want me to, that is.”
Jungkook quickly wrapped his arms around you and pulled you so you were straddling his lap, making you giggle as you tried to steady yourself. His hands rested comfortably against your waist and you placed yours on his shoulders. He looked up at you now with so much love and adoration.
“Never. I’m not planning on ever letting you go,” he accentuated his words with his grip around you by wrapping his arms more tightly around your waist to pull you closer to his chest. “Not until the day you decide you don’t want to do this anymore.”
“Well I don’t see that ever happening, so I guess we have nothing to worry about then, do we?” You booped his nose and he grinned, placing a hand on the back of your head to bring your lips down to meet his once more. The kiss was soft, yet passionate.
And it quickly turned into something more.
You deepened the kiss and Jungkook groaned into it, kissing you back now with a fervor that had you unconsciously moving your hips against him. He broke the kiss to lean his head back against the headboard, eyes shut and mouth parted.
“Fuck,” Jungkook panted. “I’m so fucking in love with you, Y/N. And right now,” he opened his eyes to stare at you again, tongue darting out to wet his lips.
His hand snaked underneath your t-shirt to brush at the skin he found there, pulling your head back down for another kiss.
“I want to show you how much I love you,” he whispered against your lips. “Will you let me?”
The sound of his voice shot straight to your core, and you were nodding before he could even finish his question. He chuckled against your lips before he started trailing them down your neck.
“Need to hear you say it, baby,” he spoke as his lips ghosted over your throat, his hold on you tightening.
“Please,” you breathed out, pulling at his dark tresses and making him grunt. “Please, Koo. I want you to make love to me.”
That was all he needed. Jungkook started placing kisses along your neck and down to your collarbone that was exposed from the collar of his shirt, his fists clenching around the material at the bottom of it.
“I love you,” he kept saying in between kisses. “Gonna take care of you.”
He started tugging your shirt up and you met him halfway, ridding yourself of the garment fast enough that it made him chuckle at your eagerness. He started peppering kisses all over your chest, kneading at your breasts, rolling your nipples in between your fingers and making your hips move faster.
You could feel him growing harder underneath you through the thin fabric of the shorts he was still wearing, so you sped up your movements, making him moan.
“These need to come off, don’t you think, baby?” You tugged at his shorts. Another moan came from Jungkook as he nodded, helping you move up so he could shimmy out of his shorts. He still didn’t think he could ever get used to that pet name coming from you, and he thought it was the sexiest thing ever when it fell from your lips.
Of course, Jungkook thought nearly everything you did was sexy. That was just the effect you had on him. Everything intimate was intense in the best way possible, and if this was what being in love felt like, he never wanted to stop being in love with you.
He loved you. He needed you. He wanted to be with you for the rest of his life. And he’d never felt this way about anyone else for.
He felt all of these things for you. Only for you.
Jungkook was pulled out of his thoughts of how much he loved you by the feeling of you grinding down onto him again, this time the only barrier of clothing between the two of you being your own panties.
Yeah, Jungkook wasn’t having that.
He made quick work of removing your soaked panties, laughing again at your enthusiastic impatience. He loved seeing that you wanted him as much as he wanted you.
“Be careful, angel,” He cooed at you as you tried to steady yourself on his lap once more. He rubbed his hands up and down your thighs while you huffed, a cheeky grin plastered on his face.
“Just wanna feel you already,” you said breathily, and the sound of your voice mixed with the words that fell from your mouth made him twitch. He knew he probably wouldn’t last long inside of you, and with the way you were already worked up, he figured you might not either.
But tonight wasn’t one of those nights where he planned on going for hours anyway (even though you both definitely could at times and boy did he love it when that happened). No, tonight was about him proving to you how much he loved you, telling you through his words and soft caresses and the way he took care of you.
And you did the same for him. Jungkook had never had anyone care about him before the way that you do. He knew you’d do anything to ensure his happiness, the same as he would for you.
And that’s also why he thought you were destined to be together. And he hoped he would never fuck that up, that anything would ever fuck that up.
Jungkook heard you whine from your place in his lap, still grinding against him to find some much-needed friction. You felt so good on top of him that he let himself enjoy it for a few moments, soft moans escaping his lips as he watched you through half-lidded eyes. You leaned down to give him another kiss, and in the same movement, he picked you up by your thighs under your ass and placed you back down where his tip was at your entrance.
He grunted against your lips as he felt you sink down onto him, waiting for you to accommodate to the stretch as you’d done many times before. You always told him you could handle it and sometimes you wanted him to be a little rougher with you from the get-go. Jungkook wasn’t at that level where he was comfortable with that yet.
But one day, he thought, especially with how good you feel around him, he just might be.
When he was finally completely inside of you, he waited just enjoying the feel of your warmth around his length. He brushed some hair out of your face, noticing how your eyes were glinting in the faint light of the room.
God, he could never get enough of staring into your eyes. He’d happily get lost in them over and over again.
Now, though, they were starting to close as you picked yourself only to drop down again a moment later. The action caused Jungkook to let out a throaty moan, eyes fluttering closed at the motion.
Hm. That was new.
Usually, Jungkook would guide you with his hands on your hips, and it wasn’t that he didn’t let you have control, it was more that you never really wanted to take control. So, seeing you decide to do it now was exciting and something he’d gladly let happen if that’s what you wanted.
To be sure though, he placed his hands on your waist. You placed yours on top of his and shook your head.
“Let me take the lead,” you said as you pushed his chest to where he was lying down more. “You can keep your hands here, but I want to do the work.”
Jungkook frowned, only because he knew you still had to be tired. “Angel, are you sure? I can help- fuck.”
You cut him off as you clenched around him before you started moving again, his hands constricting around your waist. You placed your hands firmly on your chest to help you get more leverage as you continued moving.
As you sped up, Jungkook leaned his head back into the pillow he was lying on, eyes screwed shut and the prettiest sounds falling from his lips. You watched as the muscles in his neck strained with the movement, and that alone made you want to mark him up.
But now wasn’t the time for that.
Jungkook managed to open his eyes and look at you riding him, the sight making him twitch inside of you. He thought you looked so beautiful like this, and you taking the lead was so hot to him, he knew he’d definitely not last long if you kept this up-
“Do you know,” you broke off to moan as his cock hit a spot inside of you that made your breath hitch, “do you know why I wanted to take control tonight?”
Jungkook swallowed and shook his head, rubbing his hands along your waist.
You smiled at him lovingly, taking one of his hands and bringing it to your lips before linking your fingers. The action made his heart soar.
“It’s because you always take such good care of me. I want to take care of you in that same way,” you squeezed his hand, letting your words wash over him.
“But you do take care of me,” he started to say, only to be interrupted by the feeling of your walls clenching around him again.
“I know. But tonight, I want to show you I know how to take care of you in this way, too. I want to show you how much I love you.” You leaned down, hitting a new angle that had both of you moaning as you brushed your lips against his. “Will you let me?”
Jungkook felt himself getting closer as you repeated his words from earlier. He nodded vigorously, kissing you with so much passion that you thought you might topple over. You sat up straight again and started moving faster, now pulling out as much as possible before dropping back down.
Jungkook’s high was approaching fast because of the combination of you taking control, the way you were riding him, and your words. He was feeling so many things at once and he tried to will himself to not let go.
He didn’t want to let go yet, not until you were there with him.
To help you along, he reached down in between both of you and started rubbing your clit, relishing in the feel of you around him as you stuttered in your movements. He smirked, knowing that even when you were in control, he still had an effect on you the same way you did him.
“Come on, angel, I’m right there, I want you to cum with me.” Jungkook’s voice was husky now, the pleasure threatening to overtake him any second. He bit his lip as he stared at you, watching as your head lolled forward on your neck and you started shaking from the overwhelming sensations coursing through your body.
“I’m almost there, Koo, I love you so much,” your sounds were increasing in pitch and becoming more frequent, so he knew you were close. All that was left now was for you to reach your high together.
He took your hand that was still intertwined with his and placed a kiss on the inside of your wrist. “I love you, too,” he said softly.
His response was enough to finally provoke your orgasm, it being so powerful that you fell forward on top of him. As you did, you were clenching so tight around him that his release wasn’t far behind. He grunted as he placed his head in the crook of your neck, filling you up, the familiar sensation of warmth making you shiver in his hold.
Both of you were trying to catch your breath, you now completely laying on his chest and his arms snaked around you. He placed a kiss on top of your head and you both just laid there for a few moments.
Jungkook was the one to break the silence. “Well, that was certainly something.”
You giggled. “Yeah, I enjoyed that, Don’t know why I haven’t done that before.” You felt his chest rumble with laughter underneath you.
“Me neither, but you can absolutely do it more often. I know I won’t be opposed.”
“Deal,” you said as you leaned up to place a kiss on his nose. “But only under one condition.”
“Oh?” Jungkook raised an eyebrow, intrigued at your proposition.
“You,” you said as you traced patterns on his chest, “need to stop being so cautious with me.”
A tiny frown etched itself onto his features. “Angel-”
“I mean it, Jungkook. I’m not some fragile thing that’s going to break anytime you stick your dick in me.” He couldn’t help the laugh that erupted from him, immediately apologizing afterwards because he knew you were being serious.
“I know you’re not, I just- I never want to hurt you.”
“And I’d let you know if you did. So promise me you’ll at least try to treat me a little less like I’m gonna break under your touch?”
He ran his fingers through your hair as you laid your head on his chest again. “I promise to try. I don’t just do it for you, though.”
You brought your head back up to look at him, quirking your own eyebrow. “Oh? What do you mean?”
He chuckled darkly, his stare alone making you throb. “I also do it so I can maintain some self-control.”
You laughed. “What’s so bad about losing control?”
He smirked. “Nothing, I guess. We’ll have to see though, won’t we?”
The suggestion made you tingle with desire, but you were unfortunately too tired to go again, so you figured it’d be best to leave it alone for the night. Jungkook finally pulled out of you, making you let out a small whine at the loss. Before you could say anything, he picked you up and carried you with him to the shower, as he did most nights when you two shared these intimate moments.
In the shower, he helped you clean off, and as he was washing your hair, you stared up at him, seeing his dark locks falling into his face with the weight of the water that drenched them. His lips were parted and his tongue was slightly sticking out as he concentrated on making sure he lathered every inch of your hair with shampoo. He looked so adorable like this that you couldn’t help but giggle.
You ran your hands along his chest now to help him wash off the soap, and your ring caught the light, glimmering faintly. Jungkook picked up your hand and turned it this way and that to watch the ring shine from different angles, before he linked your fingers together.
“I told you I’d get you a better one, didn’t I?” You rolled your eyes in amusement at the cocky smirk that tugged at his lips.
“You didn’t just tell me, you promised me.” You continued washing all the suds off of him as he wrapped his arms around you to bring you closer.
“And did I follow through on my promise?”
You pretended to think about it for a second, making Jungkook tickle you under the shower’s waterfall. “Ok! Ok! Yes, you did,” you said as you laughed. “You always follow through on your promises.”
“I try,” was his soft response. He nudged your cheek with his nose, which is something he did when he wanted a kiss, a habit you were very quick to pick up on in the early stages of your relationship. You wrapped your arms around his neck and stood up on your tiptoes, placing a gentle kiss on his lips that had him letting out a small sound of contentment.
“I love you. And I’m in love with you. Nothing, nor anyone, will change that.” You reassured him as you pushed his hair out of his face. Any doubts he still had you wanted to erase them all.
You wanted him to know that you loved him with everything you had.
He smiled, brushing his nose against yours. “I know. And I love you more than anything. All the love I have to give is for you.” He placed another soft kiss on your lips before he pulled back to quietly add, “Only for you.”
Those three words meant so much to you, and every time you heard him say them it made you fall for him even more, if that was possible. The two of you continued to hold each other and exchange lazy kisses until the water turned too cold to bear. After drying off, you both snuggled back into bed, with you falling asleep almost instantly, feeling safe in Jungkook’s arms.
He kissed the back of your neck and wrapped his arms around you securely, resting his forehead against your shoulder as you both laid on your sides. Your soft breathing let him know you were already asleep and he smiled, elated that he could provide you the comfort you needed to help you fall into peaceful slumber once more.
When Jungkook inevitably followed behind you, he was met with nothing but pleasant dreams, and all of them were about you.

There was a time that Suyoung was working as a temp in an office setting and she would sit in her plastic cubicle, day in and day out, eyeing the time pass and the days tiptoe on in an endless routine, but one day when she came back from lunch, she had noticed that the workers she had been watching for sometime now put up an ad, two baby blue eyes staring back at her. It was for some sort of luxury purse or watch, nothing she could come close to affording, and it featured Astrid who at the time might have been the biggest supermodel in the world, but Suyoung wouldn't know it, never having seen this woman prior. That gaze greeted her every morn when she got into the job, and after three months of wondering who that was, was she was instantly fired, not daring to go back to that area until weeks later and the ad was torn down.
She bit the bottom of her lip as she settled into the passenger side, pondering who had been despising their impending nuptials, and though she only had an estranged older sister on her side, she could not help but feel Astrid was lucky to have people that cared that much about her. Of course, she knew very little of the matter, only what the older woman had told her in their whirlwind courtship but Suyoung wished she could somehow comfort her, instead opting to take the other's hand in her own as they drove. "I am sure they will, and any problem we face, we'll face it together, yeah? You don't have to go through this alone." She wanted Astrid to know it was okay to come and talk to her about things, even if they were not happy things if they were going to have a healthy marriage.
"Look, I am a huge ball of insecurities, trust me, I just... I have a difficult time showing anyone I care for a more... receptive side in me since my mother always told me there was no point showing that part to people you like. I know it's not true, and it might have caused some of the downfalls of past relationships, but I won't let it deter ours, or I will try not to okay?" Such an impetuous admission coloured Suyoung's cheeks a red hue as she glanced out the window to the scenery around them, wholly new terrain and a feeling at the pit of her stomach that this was just the start.
Brimming with a sense of activity at the thought of going to their new place, Suyoung made a list of some of the things she did not feel the need to bring from Canada, such as shampoo and the like, but then she was sure she could just borrow that stuff from Astrid, which left her unsure of what they might need, or what would look good since she never felt she had a key eye for those sorts of things, but a day shopping with Astrid would be nice. "A day with you, even just doing taxes sounds fun, so I am definitely in. I'm afraid I'm not too good with interior design, but I do like to look at the colours and see if they go together."
astrid loved walking hand in hand with suyoung, even though some looks - and stares - made her nervous. in the past, it was generally people looking at her because they recognized her from a glossy magazine cover. now, it was either homophobia or ageism. "i just get insecure, especially with what people around me say about us. it's been tough the past few weeks... but i'm sure they'll come around." she assured her partner, not wanting her to worry or regret coming. she helped suyoung with her suitcases and then blushed at the elaborate compliment that followed. she had been showered in compliments as a model, as well as criticism - but she rarely got to hear that anymore. it made her feel great to have suyoung express just how gorgeous she thought astrid was. "i wouldn't marry anyone else." she told her and was now very eager to get home. she just couldn't wait to be alone with suyoung and just have a romantic evening, dreaming about their future - in person. not over the phone.
"as you wish." she said and pushed the cart toward the exit and her polestar electric car. she helped load up the car and then put on her sunglasses. it was, as on most days, way too sunny to drive without. she started up the car and made her way to what would now be their apartment. well, penthouse. "i have a furniture shopping trip planned, by the way." she started, "this weekend. so, take a look around the apartment, make a list of things you'd like to replace with items of your taste and we can replace them as soon as possible." she spoke as she drove towards her home. "i really want the place the feel like yours too."
astrid had always visited suyoung in canada, finding it too hard to have her here with her sons always stopping by, her ex-husband even dropping in to vent about work still and it was just great for astrid to get away from her life to suyoung. that meant, however, that her fiancée didn't really have anything here in america yet.

- "No fucking way, Spencer!" (Y/N) widened her eyes and laughed so hard tears filled her eyes. She was sitting at her desk at work, staring at her best friend, who could barely walk due to the two hours he had spent that morning training with Penelope.
- "Please, don't tell anyone."- he whispered and looked around the bullpen. He was too embarrassed already to let anyone else know he had to take the mandatory fit test. He wanted to avoid the jokes, especially Derek's.
- "Your secret is safe with me, as always, chipmunk"- (Y/N) smiled and bit her lips, trying not to laugh anymore- "But why on earth are you working out? You have enough case hours to cover a fit test!"
- "Apparently, I can't skip it this year. Both me and Penelope have to take it."- Spencer whispered and sat down very slowly, pain written all over his face.
His best friend stared at him reading the mix of embarrassment and physical pain he felt with each movement he made. (Y/N) smiled and opened one of her drawers, looking for the last Snicker she had hidden in case of need. Watching Spencer in pain was precisely the case. She stood up and handed him the candy, making his heart skip a beat. Spencer did his best to hide the blush on his cheeks and just looked away.
- "I can help you if you want."- (Y/N) whispered and cut him the most adorable smile she had.
- "Help me what?"
- "Working out."- she replied and bit her granola bar- "I can teach you how to kick ass, and I do look hot wearing sweat shorts."
Spencer nearly chook. He flushed and closed his eyes, trying to cover up his embarrassment. But (Y/N) giggled and turned around. Her job there was done. Now Spencer had to be picturing her in her sweat shorts.
Of course, he was. He couldn't stop, actually.
The two agents were the youngest of the team, and somehow sometimes in-between cases, it showed. Especially when they were on their own, and their conversations ended up in casual flirting.
(Y/N) was head over feet in love with Spencer, though she was never going to face it. God knows Penelope had tried to force her to deal with her feelings. But she was closed as an oyster. No matter how much Garcia insisted or how drunk they were, (Y/N) kept denying her true feelings in public.
Spencer wasn't indifferent. Not at all. As a matter of fact, he was in love with (Y/N). Everything about her bewitched him. Ever since the first time he laid eyes on her, he felt it. She was tailor-made for him. If only he weren't a nervous wreck each time he saw her...
After two years working together, Spencer had managed to overcome part of my shyness and awkwardness around (Y/N). They were best friends, and they would usually hang out in their free time. The little free time they had in the BAU. But even when they could playfully flirt all the time, Spencer was sure she didn't like him that way. He convinced himself she was just joking.
--
(Y/N) headed to the Batcave holding a large frappuccino and knocked on the half-opened door before walking in.
- "Penelope García, I had the feeling you were running caffeine low."
- "Oh my pretty little thing! How do you do it? You read my mind!"- the tech analyst nearly hyperventilated as soon as she held her ice and creamed coffee.
- "Reid and I were out for a little break, and I knew you would like one of these to cheer up your afternoon"- Garcia sipped her frappuccino and nodded. But as soon as she had finished savoring the perfect coffee, she asked.
- "So, you and Reid..."
- "We were out getting coffee, like the best friends we are."
- "But, there's coffee here in the kitchenette. There's no need to go out and get coffee unless you want to find an excuse to be alone with him."- (Y/N) raised an eyebrow and sighed. Garcia did that every single chance she got.
- "You and I know the FBI doesn't share our concept of "good" coffee."- (Y/N) looked at her friend and just smiled- "Besides, I told you, I felt you needed some extra sugar and joy in your life after your early workout session this morning."
- "That little snitch!"- (Y/N) chuckled and shook her head.
- "Don't get mad at Reid. He didn't tell me anything. I kind of figured there was something wrong 'cos he looked in so much pain just breathing."
- "Oh man, he is sored, but I am sure he would be way sorer if you train with him."
- "I offered myself to help him"- Garcia raised an eyebrow at (Y/N) 's words, and the young agent wide opened her eyes, blushing- "Stop staring at me like I'm a perv! I meant helping him train for the test. I could help you too."
- "Thank you, but no, thank you. I trained with you, and there's no way we are going to do all that boxing again."
- "Come on! You said you had fun!"
- "I did! I really did... but I could barely move the next day! And I had a date! I couldn't even dance, less doing... other... nevermind"- Penelope stopped herself in her tracks and shook her head.
- "Shit, PG!"- (Y/N) closed her eyes and chuckled- "Spare me the details."
- "Sorry... anyway... you and the little genius should definitely train in a more... horizontal way."
- "Garcia! Stop it!"- (Y/N) laughed and stood up- "I'm gonna go back to work 'cos clearly you have some hormonal issues today, and you are projecting."
- "Stop acting like you haven't thought about it!"- Garcia said and chuckled as her friend walked away.
- "I'm not telling you anything."
- "That means yes!"
- "No! it doesn't!"- (Y/N) was blushing; that's why she refused to turn around and look at Penelope.
- "Oh! It so does!"
--
The end of that day found Spencer even more sore, hungry and weary than he had felt in years. All he wanted to do was go home, eat pizza leftovers from the night before, and go straight to bed.
Until...
- "Hey, chipmunk!"- (Y/N) looked at Spencer, gathering all his things and getting ready to go home.- "Dinner at my place tonight. My treat."
- "I can pick the take out tonight?"- he said immediately and asked himself where did that come from if, a second earlier, all he wanted to do was to go to bed. Probably from the same place that kept coming back to the image of her in sweat shorts.
- "Even better. I'll cook"- (Y/N) answered and winked, playfully- "You deserve a proper homemade dinner after all the workout you did this morning."
Spencer looked at her and didn't even notice the silly smile on his face. If he had known how in love he was looking, he would have probably slapped himself. (Y/N) sighed and stood up.
- "I'm gonna take that silence as a "Great (Y/N)! Thank you! How considered! I'm so lucky to have you in my life".
Spencer rolled his eyes and shook his head.
- "Thank you, (Y/N). But I'll give you more praise if your food turns out to be eatable"- the young agent gasped, pretending to be insulted by his words, and hit Reid's arm with her knuckles.
- "Auch! (Y/N)!"
- "I'm being nice, and you are insulting me! I'm having second thoughts about driving you over!"
- "I can take the subway! You are such a slow driver I can actually be there faster."
Spencer stuck out his tongue at her and ran to the elevator, 'cos his friend widened her eyes and ran after him, probably to hit him again.
Morgan and Prentiss stared at the scene in silence, sharing a few looks, both of them thinking the exact same thing: "When are these two goofs ever going to hook up?"
- "They are annoying"- Rossi stood next to Emily's desk and crossed his arms on his chest.
- "They are in love"- she corrected, but David shook his head and sighed.
- "I know, and they are adorable, but it's so annoying staring at the same scene over and over again, waiting for something, anything, to happen between them."
- "Are you turning into a bitter old man who completely forgot about the charm of being young and in love?"- Prentiss raised an eyebrow and turned to Rossi. The Italian stared right into her eyes and shook his head.
- "I'm just saying someone should try to tell them something."
- "I've tried to talk to him about her a million times. But Reid is one private kid."- Derek said from his desk as the three of them stared at Spencer and (Y/N) getting into the elevator, still arguing and playfully playing.
- "And he is so insecure. He doesn't think she likes him."
- "Likes him? She is clearly in love with him!"- Prentiss said, annoyed- "I swear, if nothing happens between them this weekend, I'm going to intervene."
- "Now who is forgetting about the charm of being young and in love?"- Rossi joked and sighed- "Come on guys, dinner's on me."
--
(Y/N)' s dinner was a success. Spencer ate two portions of honey mustard-glazed chicken bake. She even managed to make him eat vegetables. And Spencer didn't even argue. Not only because it was delicious, and his body really needed some homemade dinner. But also 'cos (Y/N) got him wrapped around her fingers, even without knowing it. And if she asked him to eat veggies, Spencer (no matter how much he would argue) would eat his damn veggies. And he could actually enjoy them.
- "Ok, chipmunk, you ate all your food. You earned your dessert"- (Y/N) smiled and picked the dirty dishes from the table.
- "Let me do that. You already fed me. The least I can do is do the dishes."
Spencer followed her moves and took the dishes to the sink. (Y/N) didn't argue with that. It wasn't the first time Spencer cleaned the kitchen with her, after all. They had been good friends, close friends, for a long time, and they were used to being around each other.
But this time, it felt somehow different. Like there was something in the air warning them things were about to change for good.
- "Ok, doc. Do you wanna eat your dessert watching tv for a while?"- (Y/N) handed Spencer an ice cream bowl with chocolate chips on top and some whipped cream.
- "A smiley ice cream bowl?"- Spencer chuckled as he stared at it. He loved it.
- "Yes, you are never too old to eat food with a smile on it. And that's a life lesson, Spencer Walter Reid."- she said and walked to the couch, holding the remote control.
- "You are filled with wisdom, (Y/N)"- Reid teased her and sat by her side.
- "I know. It would help if you let me train you. You would pass your fit test in a blink."- she said and continued surfing channels.
- "Thanks, but no thanks. I wanna do it on my own."- Spencer glued his eyes on the screen and ate his dessert. (Y/N) just nodded and continued surfing channels.
- "Why?"- she asked him after a few minutes. They had been watching an old movie in silence, just eating their ice cream.
- "Why what?"- he whispered and looked at her just for a second. He didn't trust himself around (Y/N), especially under those circumstances: alone in her house. She had changed into leggings and an old extra-large sweatshirt. Her hair was in a messy bun. And Spencer didn't feel able to look at her into the eyes, 'cos he was going to cave in. He was going to grab her face with both hands and kiss her right there. No questions asked.
Which is why he avoided looking at her.
- "Why don't you want me to help you train?"
- "Just because"- he answered and glued his eyes to the screen. But (Y/N) knew better. She moved closer to him on the couch and held his hands. Spencer shivered right away at the sensation of her skin. It was so warm and soft. All he craved was some more of that. He wanted to feel her. Touch her. Taste her.
His head was going way too fast, and just because she held his hand.
- "Spencer, look at me"- she whispered and practically begged her friend to pay her attention- "I just wanna help. It's just a stupid fit test. It ain't hard."
- "For you."- he mumbled and looked down at his hand as her fingers played against his skin.
- "I didn't want you or anyone to help me 'cos I'm a fucking SSA who should be perfectly able to perform a simple fit test on his own. But no. I can't! And do you know what that means?"
- "That finally I know there's one thing you are not good at?"- she answered and smiled at him. Spencer raised his eyes and met hers. He knew his cheeks were all shades of pink, but for once, he just didn't care. He just wanted to look at her and see if she meant it. Or if she was just teasing him.
- "Right"- he snorted and shook his head.
- "I mean it, Spencer. You don't have to be good at everything."
- "It's a fit test. It's basic to be an agent. I need to be able to catch an unsub."- (Y/N) frowned and tried to understand where all that self-doubt and insecurity was coming from. To her eyes, Spencer had nothing to be ashamed of. To her, he was perfect in every single way.
- "You already catch unsubs, chipmunk. Everyday. You don't have to kick down doors to make a profile. And you don't have to run six miles to get the bad guy. Everything that you do every day at work is what an SSA is supposed to do. And you excel at it."
(Y/N) sighed and smiled at her best friend, trying to push aside the urge she felt to kiss him. His golden-brown eyes looked so big, like honey pools, she could stare for a lifetime. Spencer didn't know what to say. He really wasn't good with praises. He wasn't used to them. Not in that way.
- "Besides"- (Y/N) added after a few seconds of silence when she realized she might have said too much and started panicking.
- "It feels good to finally know there is one thing I am better than you at."
- "What are you talking about?"- Spencer answered right away, in the sassiest tone of voice.- "Just because I suck working out doesn't mean you are better. Even at my lowest, I'm still better than whatever you can do in a gym."
Reid was obviously joking. He knew (Y/N) could kick ass. Not only had she saved his life many times on the field, but also, he had seen her working out. And she could definitely kick his ass if she wanted to.
That didn't mean he wasn't going to tease her just because.
- "You take that back, Reid!"- she threatened him and
- "No"- he sentenced and crossed his arms on his chest
- "Last chance. Take it back, or you will pay for it."
- "Make me."
And that was it.
In a second, (Y/N) was on him tickling him, and trying to practice a chokehold on him. But Spencer was faster, and somehow, stronger than her. Maybe it was because he was struggling with himself. A part of him wanted her closer, and a part of him didn't want her too close, 'cos he knew his pants were going to start feeling too tight if she did.
Whatever the reason was, after two minutes of wrestling, Spencer had (Y/N) pinned down against the couch. And the way she panted against the fabric of the cushion wasn't helping him with his pants.
- "Spencer, it hurts"- she cried and tried to move from his grip, but he didn't let her go.
- "If you want me to release you, you have to say I am the best agent in this house."
- "Never!"- (Y/N) quickly answered and continued struggling.
- "Just say it, I've got you held, and I'm not going to let you free until you say it."- something in his tone of voice, it was teasing but also... sexy? (Y/N) knew Spencer wasn't trying to act that way, but it was working for her in a way she hadn't imagined. He would be so soft. And now, there he was, acting like a dominant man, holding her tight, not letting her move, literally pinned against the couch.
If only it were all happening in a different context.
- "Let me go, Spencer Reid!"- (Y/N) battled against his arms, but it was useless
- "Just say it"- he leaned in and whispered in her ear, and (Y/N) sword she could almost feel his smile as he spoke.
- "You are the best agent!! There, happy?"- she mumbled, making her best to sound annoyed and not turned on. Spencer released her, and she quickly sat down properly, rubbing her left wrist.
- "Did I hurt you?"- Spencer whispered and noticed how flustered she was. That was a first.
- "No. But I gotta tell you, you are stronger than I thought."- she said and stuck out her tongue to him, trying to be playful and innocent, though you could feel it in the air. That moment was anything but innocent.
- "Yeah, I've been working out a little bit."- Spencer answered and chuckled at his own words.
- "Well, you are going to have to learn how to control your new strength, 'cos this is going to leave a bruise"- (Y/N) whined and showed him her sore wrist. Spencer winced, ashamed he had been so hard on her without meaning any harm. He moved closer to her and held her wrist carefully. (Y/N) just looked at him as he kissed her wrist a few times.
That man couldn't be real. He was such a tease.
Did he know all the things he was, in fact, doing to her with that simple touch?
He surely had to know. Otherwise, there was no explanation, she thought.
- "Thanks"- (Y/N) whispered and fixed her eyes on his lips, still landing small kisses on her wrist.
That was when she stopped breathing. Spencer was literally breathtaking. He smiled at her, and she just couldn't help it anymore. (Y/N) leaned in and kissed him. It was a soft, short peck. But she had dared to do the unthinkable.
She kissed her best friend.
Spencer widened his eyes, shocked, and looked at her, not saying a word. They just stayed still for a good thirty seconds until Spencer finally made his move, cupping her jaw carefully with both hands and pulling her face against his.
The way she moaned into the kiss made him feel more in control than he had ever been before.
It was a soft kiss but intense. Spencer's lips rubbed carefully against her mouth, and his tongue moved carefully, making its way until he could taste her. (Y/N) moved closer to him until she was basically sitting on his lap, and his arms wrapped around her body, locking her against him.
They were in heaven.
Until it was over. Their phones buzzed at the same time, breaking the spell, ending the charm. (Y/N) jumped from Spencer's arms and grabbed her phone.
- "We've got a case"- she whispered and turned to him. He was agitated, his cheeks were red, his pants felt tight, and he was starving for more of those kisses.
- "Ok."- he replied but didn't move.
- "I'm gonna change, then we can go."- (Y/N) added, but he didn't say a word. To be fair, Spencer wasn't processing what was going on. He was still trying to elaborate a coherent thought. And most of all, he was fighting the boner in his pants that didn't let him stand up.
You could blame all the sugar in his body after the massive bowl of ice cream, or all the praising (Y/N) had given him, but Spencer found a new level of courage in that kiss. He decided it was time to stop overthinking it. It was time to act on his feelings.
- "(Y/N)"- Reid knocked on her bedroom door and heard her from the walking closet.
- "I'm almost ready. Did you talk with Garcia?"
- "No, but I don't wanna leave things like this. I wanted to talk about what just happened."
(Y/N) sighed and took a look at herself in the mirror. She could still feel her cheeks burning after that kiss, after feeling her best friend hard underneath her body, holding her against him. But she wasn't sure she wanted to hear what Reid was about to say. Most of all, because she was sure it was going to be something along the lines: "That kiss was a mistake, you are my friend. I don't wanna ruin this."
- "That kiss was..."- he mumbled and walked to her as soon as she showed up in the room, but words were hard to find when she looked at him that way.
- "Spencer, I..."- she tried to speak, but he just continued.
- "Would you like to..."
- "Pretend it didn't happen?"
- "Go out on a date with me?"- the two of them said at the same time and widened their eyes in shock.
- "What?"- (Y/N) questioned and stared at her best friend in shock- "You want to go out with me?"
- "You want to pretend it never happened?"- he asked her, scared he might have rushed to the wrong conclusions.
- "No, no, no, I don't... I can't pretend it didn't happen"- (Y/N) quickly answered and held Spencer's hand, afraid she might have ruined everything.
- "I was just scared you were going to reject me or..."- (Y/N) bt her lips and dared to look at him- "I wanna go out on a date with you"- she whispered and watched his whole face change as a big silly grin drawn on his lips.
- "Really?"- he murmured, still not sure it was actually happening. He asked her out. She said yes. He was sure that was never going to happen in real life.
- "Really"- she assured him and leaned in slowly to kiss him one more time. But her phone rang again, and so did his. This time it was a message from Hotch. Wheels up as soon as they reached the FBI.
- "But after we catch the bad guy."- (Y/N) added, and Spencer chuckled.
- "Sounds like a plan."
