WiP - Wig for Bookman Sr
It has been a long time since I made a wig and I was looking forward to finally make one again.

I started making the wigcap and then prepared the wefts. I even had some leftover wefts from a former wig. So I was able to work with almost 2 batches and came quite far without running out of wefts.

After a few hours I added some wefts to the inside of the wig as he has a swepped back hairstyle. This had to cure overnight.

The next day everything as cured nicely but i removed the cap and let it dry from the inside while I worked on something else before i combed out the wig.
After that the styling followed.

And here is the finished wig, I really like how it came out.
Oh, and I noticed I already have a grumpy old man with a similar hairstyle :'D but he's an OC.

Just Allen and the Azalea, I love how the color theme just clicks together like a puzzle.
All the reds and dark tones here. The Azalea is also connected with positive memories for me, but also sadness as it was owned by a human who is not with us anymore. Grief is a beast, but we keep on walking, even with all the wounds and scars we have from our past.

WiP - Cosplay - Allen's Non Order Uniform - Part 3
Waistcoat time. I dreaded this a bit as the glove was such a hassle and waistcoats are kind of my archnemsis in sewing regards but after that glove... I thought a waistcoat was at least somewhat easier as I made so many.

I started with searching for my old waistcoat pattern as I know I made one for the blue outfit but I don't have it anymore. I remember that I made two waistcoats back then as the first one was horrible and I kinda eyeballed the second one but seems like I didn't make an actual pattern.
So I made a new one, cut the pieces and started to put the lining together.

I tested a lot inbetween as the backless waistcoat was a challenge on it's own and it was a new pattern I had to adjust.

Then the outer layer and I started on the collar, I now add more to the collars to adjust later on. As I cut off to much for that one doll collar I rather go that extra step to avoid needing to remake a piece from scratch.
Here you can see what I adjusted later on for the collar.

Put together! I sewed the outer layer on the lining and then pinned down the back after trying with the machine, i have yet to figure out how to close such a seam/construct without having a sleeping bag in the end. But it was time for a break anyways.

I closed the seam by hand and added snap buttons as we have no visible buttons here again and I lack black buttons. I didn't want to use the black plastic snap buttons as I had them for Apocryphos but they kept falling apart.
In the end i ironed the waistcoat.

Aaaand fitting test =)
I noticed the collar is really a bit weird, i played with the tought to adjust it a bit.

sdsd

And decided to make it a two part collar, it's now a bit more floppy but also more comfortable to wear.
The base outfit is done by that! Next up is the coat.

WiP - Revising Lavi's Staff
As we got more references over the time my staff clearly ... needed an upgrade.

My material of choice here is foam clay, I even out the base of the middle piece and the end pieces, then sculpted on top.

For the end pieces i filled the gaps too, it's a bit too uneven in the end but well better than rough shapes.

After a night of curing I gave everything a base coat of color and added more details.

My medium of choice for the gold was spray paint this time, usually I use gold leafes but I wasn't in the mood to work on those nooks and crannies with brush and a mess that would need hours to be cleaned up. Plus the can was open (I can't even recall when I got it).

Then I needed to paint the rest again and gave it some depth.

Here we are with the upgraded staff :)
Still hard to photograph as it's just long and thin.

WiP - Cosplay - Allen's Non Order Uniform - Part 2
The saga continues.
After brooding about the glove failure I ordered new fabrics but then decided to try it with the bit leftover I saved for a new version of the Crown Clown glove (but as I reordered that fabric I thought it would be okay).

I remade the pattern once more, even tried to find some good tutorials (I always end up failing even more using tutorials therefore I avoid them usually) and it kinda worked.

I mean it's still super crooked and not pretty but it's wearable and not incredible obvious I messed up a lot. It's synthetic leather and I wanted to avoid it due the fact i wanted to wear the outfit without the coat in summer but well... i will be cooking it seems. And I still have enough to remake the glove for crown clown.
This was before i sew the borders of the sleeve part so it looks more crooked than it actually is. It's a bit deformed but I guess once in action you will not notice it that much.

Adding the stripes and buckles was such a relaxing task. So after a full weekend I had a shirt, adjusted pants, a tie and a monster of a glove.

The monday after that intense weekend I adjusted a few seams I noticed to be an easy fix. I also attached the straps a bit more as they flapped around a bit too much.
The coming weekend I will work on the waistcoat. I don't aim to finish more than that. I need the waistcoat to complete the outfit for the Connichi. The coat is just an addition I need in October (I will MAYBE wear it at the Connichi too but if I don't get it finished in time then not, also if it's too hot I will ofc not put it on).

I'm happy to announce that after a year ... I am able to almost juggle 3 balls by now. In these photos I did two, that means my skills have advanced further.
There was like a week I didn't feel like juggling at all but somehow it still brings me joy even though it is not a skill you really need. It's just... fun. Even though I am a super slow learner.

WiP - Cosplay - Allen's Non Order Uniform - Part 1
.... yes. I know I just made it for my doll but sewing outfits for dolls is mainly helping me which details I need and how pattern work in a small scale aka it's basically my mock up pieces just in a very small scale.
With the new outfit I am yet not sure if I will wear the version with or without the coat for the Connichi, it really depends on the weather.
For the pants I decided to buy a white pair and modify them to fit the outfit as sewing pants ... is just something I don't like.

The shirt was pretty much straight forward. I decided to use the base pattern I made for Kaneki's shirt and work with that. I also went for a simple closure, no buttons in the front and a 'fake' collar, as we have no visible button line for this outfit and I had to deal with that for the blue outfit but it's... so much work to cover up all the buttons.

Here is the collar as you can see I added a seam to make it seem like it's an actual collar, but I cheat big here. It's still more accurate than just using another shirt.

This was me testing the overall fit and if I need to make another tie. This tie here is for Nea/Mana and it's a bit too short and too wide. I took the opporturnity to make a fitting test with the shirt overall. There are tiny mistakes in it again but it's a comfortable top, the collar is maybe a bit annoying but I will add a button and give myself the option to open it up if it annoys me too much.

Buttons I went the oldshool way and used the good old hammer. And as you can see I made another tie.

Another quick fitting test with the tie and my general waistcoat for Allen. I will make an own one for this costume as it has a different cut than my usual one.
Next up is modifying the pants!

As mentioned before I bought a pair of pants to adjust them to fit the design, making pants is just not something I want to do. I had to open up a few seams (spoiler: i later on had to shorten exactly the length i added here) before I made the stripes.

Well making stripes is not that hard it went well :)

As said I had to ... shorten the pants after the first fitting test. As I feared with the boots (which I yet have to order) the pants would be too long, then I would have the same issue as with doll Allen. It took me another 15 minutes but I think it's better like that now.

After that I decided to add another seam for the shirt as it would create more of the illusion of a normal collar.
As I worked on the stripes I remembered there is a glove I need to make. So instead of tackling the waistcoat I will do the glove. I have the material, well, I hope the fabric is enough as I only have scraps from Okarun and the 2nd Uniform and used it for Kaneki and the stripes... the stripes weren't calculated but I wanted a stretchy fabric to have comfy pants.
I have digged up the pattern I used for the 2nd Uniform and I will try to adjust it a bit and hopefully get a pretty glove.

I will just sum up the 3 attempts of gloves in a few photos as I run out of photo space... i made a pretty glove. But it was for the left hand, I need one for the right hand. I attempted to make a right one 2 times but it came out worse and worse, every time I thought I had found the solution it came out bad again. In the end I was out of fabrics and everything was so frayed i couldn't retry anymore. What a very frustrating ending to this weekend. I turned the left into a short glove it's a bit too small to be worn over the Innocence but well... at least not all fabric completely wasted?

Happy belated 10th Birthday, Trauma!
The last few months have been some of the hardest I have been through all my life. And while I try to be on top of it the best I can I .. am not. I have a list with doll Birthdays, which turn 10 this year. And I simply did not put him onto the list. And just noticed it. 4 months late. He is a very special character and that it took me this long not to notice me makes me quite sad.
Gladly the weather helped with photos as he needs this gloomy atmosphere.
