Villain Invite Headcanon

I like to think that Master Hand will only invite a series villain if their respective protagonists give consent first. Of course, some are more willing to give said consent than others:

Mario and friends had no trouble with Bowser or BJ, and Kirby knows Dedede isn’t really that bad.

Link and Zelda agreed to let Ganondorf be invited largely because having him in Smash meant they could keep an eye on him.

Fox and Falco liked the idea of being able to pit themselves against Wolf outside their Arwings.

Samus only gave permission to invite Ridley after writing out a list of conditions, and while not all of them are known, she did ask that she be first to fight him (she didn’t clarify whether that meant unlocking him or being his first post-unlock opponent, so Master Hand let her have both).

The Kongs also asked that they be K. Rool’s first opponents in exchange for their permission–one unlocked him and the other was his first post-unlock opponent (not sure which).

Cloud had three conditions under which Master Hand was allowed to invite Sephiroth: he got to fight Sephiroth first, he got an upgrade to his Final Smash, and Master Hand was to invite Sora as well.

Kazuya may be the only exception, given that no one from Tekken got into Smash before he did.
